You hadn’t been entirely sure what was happening, one minute you were fighting back to back with Commander Grazer, a dozen more clones fighting around you until the droid army was in pieces. It had been a long battle and you were panting by the end of it, exhausted and desperately praying that Obi-Wan was winning his own battle on Utapau.
When you turned around to check on your men you froze as you came face to face with a blaster and Commander Grazer’s face showing his conflicting emotions as his arm shook slightly. You had just been about to open your mouth when you glanced around and saw the others all had their guns upright and steadily pointed directly at you.
“What is this?” You asked as you reignited your lightsaber, not wanting to use it against the men under your command.
“Execute Order 66!” Commander Grazer said and suddenly there were blaster shots being fired at you from every direction, you just about managed to jump out of the way, using the Force to push the clones aside as you used your lightsaber to deflect as many shots as you could.
The ships were a good few klicks away and you had a full battalion following after you as you darted away from their shots, desperately trying not to get hit. It didn’t help that the planet’s terrain was steep and uneven, full of hills and cliffs.
One of the clones managed to get close enough to try and grab you but when you pushed back, using the Force to push him away you ended up sending yourself tumbling down one of the deep hills, wincing as you felt sharp rocks slicing your robe, some deep enough to pierce your skin.
By the time you had stopped falling your hands were cut, bruises would definitely form and you could feel blood sticking to your shirt. You didn’t have time to stop though, blaster shots were still coming from above and you could see the clones making their way down towards you.
As you ran towards the ships you pressed at your comm but it had taken a hit during your fall and there was no way to get in touch with anybody to see what was happening. You couldn’t even fathom what was happening, these clones, those men had become more than just soldiers under your command, they had turned into friends, family, you fought side by side with them every day. For them to just turn so suddenly didn’t make sense.
You ran until your sides hurt, until the cuts and bruises ached painfully and your feet begged for a break, you pressed on and eventually saw the ships in the distance. The clones were still behind you but you had put a fair bit of distance between you and them, twisting and turning here and there, but every so often a blaster bolt would shoot past you forcing you to run faster.
By the time you actually got to the ships you felt about ready to pass out, the battle that had tired you out to begin with felt like it had happened in another lifetime. You knew you had less than a minute to get on a ship and off the planet before the clones were in their own ships trying to shoot you down.
Somehow you managed it though, jumping into hyperspace just as the clones came into view. You had quickly typed in the coordinates for Coruscant but once you were in hyperspace you figured that might not be the best plan, you weren’t sure just how widespread this thing was with the clones since your comm had broken.
You pressed a few more buttons on the ship before a voice came through, a voice you recognised well and had you sighing in relief to hear but then you registered his words and felt your blood turn cold.
“This is Master Obi-Wan Kenobi. I regret to report that both our Jedi Order and the Republic have fallen, with the dark shadow of the Empire rising to take their place. This message is a warning and a reminder for any surviving Jedi. Trust in the Force. Do not return to the Temple.”
The Jedi Order had fallen along with the Republic? How could that possibly be the case when just hours before you and Obi-Wan had parted ways with every intent to have the war finished when you saw each other again.
You keyed in Obi-Wan’s private comm number and felt your fear worsen when there was no reply after more than a dozen attempts to contact him. You prayed to the Force he was safe, you knew to get his message out he would have to have gone back to the Temple. Your mind kept trying to conjure every scenario, every bad thing that could have happened to Obi-Wan but you tried to do as he instructed, you had to trust in the Force.
You were still heading toward Coruscant and knew that you had to change course, you were still a few days out but didn’t want to be anywhere near the planet, it was too dangerous. You needed a new destination but had no idea where was safe.
You wanted Obi-Wan.
With Obi-Wan not answering his comm you moved onto other people who might know something. Anakin was your next call but you had a bad feeling, he had been on Coruscant and whatever had happened with the clones with you it was clearly happening on Coruscant too and when Anakin didn’t answer you tried desperately to shut your mind off. You tried Padmé after that, she was also on Coruscant but she would have been rushed away from the danger and yet she too failed to answer.
You felt sick to your stomach, whatever was happening on Coruscant must have been deadly, the Empire had taken over and you just hoped your friends were safe.
You tried one more person, praying and begging with the Force to let this call connect because you didn’t know what you were supposed to do if it didn’t.
“Y/N?” A voice exclaimed startling you back to reality, eyes snapping open to look at the holo in front of you. “You’re alive!”
“Bail.” You breathed out, tears stinging your eyes and you barely choked back a sob at finally getting through to somebody. “Thank the Force, I tried everyone but nobody is answering. What’s going on?”
Bail looked down, a grief stricken look on his face that had you even further on edge. You weren’t sure you wanted to know the answer.
“How much do you know?” He asked you instead of answering your question, he wasn’t quite sure he could tell you.
“I got Obi-Wan’s message.” You told him after taking a deep breath, your mind still running wild and Bail’s avoidance didn’t help. “I know the Order and the Republic have fallen, I know the clones have turned against us.”
“Yes.” Bail sighed and he looked back up at you looking older than you’d ever seen him before. “That is the basics of what has happened. Where are you now? If you got Obi-Wan’s message you know you mustn’t return to Coruscant.”
You nodded but didn’t answer him, staying silent for a minute as you played with the ring on your finger. It wasn’t really allowed, possessions weren’t a thing the Jedi had but nobody had ever brought it up and it had been a gift from Obi-Wan, one that you never wanted to part with.
You knew you had to ask, knew you had to know but you hated that with one little question you could suddenly be in a galaxy without Obi-Wan. You took a shaky breath, a tear falling down your cheek as you looked at Bail.
“Obi-Wan,” You managed to choke out, pausing to swallow around the lump in your throat as more tears slid from your eyes. “Obi-Wan, is he-”
You couldn’t force yourself to say the word, refused to even speak it into existence. The sympathetic look Bail wore did nothing to help the devastation running through you. You couldn’t imagine a galaxy without Obi-Wan, you’d known him your whole life. As a Jedi you had been taken to the Temple at a young age and you didn’t remember a time before that, Obi-Wan had already been there when you arrived and the two of you had been inseparable ever since.
It might’ve been against the Jedi code but you didn’t care, you knew you loved him even if you could ignore it most days.
He couldn’t be gone, he just couldn’t be, not Obi-Wan. A galaxy without Obi-Wan was not one you wanted to be in.
“He’s alive, Y/N.” Bail told you, forcing his voice to be steady even as his face softened as you broke out into relieved sobs, when he hadn’t answered your calls you’d assumed the worst but he was alive.
“Where is he?” You asked and Bail didn’t hesitate to tell you he had travelled to Tatooine and he was staying there, he sent the coordinates over to you and you quickly changed the destination and turned back to Bail.
“Thank you, Bail. If you ever need anything you know where to find me.” You told him sincerely. You had known Bail for years, becoming close friends with both him and Breha and you were beyond relieved to see he was unharmed.
“Likewise, Y/N. Stay safe and…keep an eye on Obi-Wan, he’s going to need all the support he can get.” Bail told you and you frowned, something about his tone telling you whatever was happening with Obi-Wan went deeper than the fall of the Order and the Republic.
“I’ll always look after Obi-Wan.” You told him, watching as a smile spread across his face and he nodded, knowing full well that you and Obi-Wan loved each other and would die before letting the other get hurt. “Stay safe, Bail.”
It was still a two day journey to Tatooine and your mind ran wild in those days. Bail hadn’t told you anything more than what Obi-Wan’s message warned about so until you were reunited with Obi-Wan you were left with the most dreadful thoughts. During your journey you didn’t sleep, the one time you managed to drift off your dreams were plagued with screams and death and you forced yourself to stay awake as you flew through hyperspace.
You finally arrived on Tatooine, following the coordinates given to you by Bail and felt a wave of relief rush through you when you saw a small shack in the middle of nowhere, far enough away that nobody would stumble across it but close enough that Obi-Wan could travel out for supplies when needed.
When you landed the ship you had to take a moment to just sit back in the seat and let out a shaky breath as you stared at the shack, even though you had been told Obi-Wan was alive and safe, you knew you wouldn’t truly believe it until you saw the man, so with another deep breath you pulled yourself together and headed off the ship.
Obi-Wan had heard the ship and he was proud that his wave of panic only lasted a minute before he reached out and felt your Force signature. Once he had pushed aside his fear he felt his heart speed back up for a different reason, you were alive. He had truly thought that after days of not hearing from you that something had happened, that you hadn’t been able to fight the clones off.
With Luke still in his arms, awake and content to be held, he made his way outside and watched as the ship's door opened and you walked down the ramp. You looked worse for wear, clearly injured, robes torn and muddied but none of that mattered, you were alive, that was the most important thing.
He walked to meet you halfway, noticing the exact moment your eyes widened as you took note of Luke in his arms, it seemed Bail hadn’t shared everything with you. When you finally reached him your eyes moved from Luke to look in Obi-Wan’s.
“Is that…” You went to ask, trailing off as your eyes fell back to Luke.
“Y/N, meet Luke Skywalker.” Obi-Wan said softly and your gaze snapped back to him, eyes wide and watery as you tried to keep the tears where they were but it was no use, once one leaked over the rest followed. “Would you like to hold him?”
You opened your mouth to say something but the words clearly died on your tongue as it fell back shut and instead you gave him a shaky nod. Obi-Wan smiled as he carefully transferred the baby to you, guiding your hand to hold his head properly and then just watched as you looked down at Luke with a mix of emotions playing out on your face.
Your hand came up to gently run along the baby’s cheek before you let out a choked sob when Luke’s tiny hand came up to wrap around your finger. You looked back to Obi-Wan and saw tears welling up in his own eyes as he stepped closer, wrapping his arm around your waist and pulling you into his chest as he placed a gentle kiss to your hair and looked down at you and Luke, so thankful that he had something good left after all that had been lost.
Not much later you and Obi-Wan were settled on the sofa, you tucked against Obi-Wan and Luke cradled in your arms. Given the past few days, the fighting, the overwhelming emotions, the pain and suffering, the dragging yourself off the ground when all you wanted to do was give up, this small part of Tatooine, this quiet corner of the planet Obi-Wan had picked out felt so quiet compared to how loud the rest of the galaxy seemed.
Your gaze was on Luke, heart equal parts full of love for the child and pain for what had become of his parents. You hadn’t had the full story yet, Obi-Wan hadn’t said much and you were content with the silence for now but you knew nothing good could have happened if Obi-Wan had Luke.
Eventually the baby’s eyes closed and began to flutter as he fell asleep in your arms and a small smile tugged at your lips as you stood up and carefully walked over to the small crib Obi-Wan had set up, tucking Luke in and placing a gentle kiss to his forehead before joining Obi-Wan back on the sofa.
In the short amount of time it had taken you to put Luke to bed Obi-Wan had gotten up to get supplies to patch you up. Most of the injuries were cuts and bruises, nothing too serious and most of them had closed up after your long travels.
“Will you tell me what happened?” You asked softly, wincing as Obi-Wan gently ran a wet cloth over a long cut on the side of your stomach.
Obi-Wan was silent for long enough that you resigned yourself to not knowing but then he sighed, a deep, heavy, tired sigh before starting at the beginning with the battle on Utapau right up until giving Leia over to Bail and leaving them behind to bring Luke to Tatooine.
By the end of it you were all patched up and tears fell down both your cheeks. You felt even more exhausted after hearing everything, heartbroken as you cried for everything that had been lost. How had things gone so wrong in the span of just a few days?
Obi-Wan looked drained and when he suggested retiring for the night you didn’t hesitate to agree, letting him pull you from the sofa and into the small bedroom. That night neither of you got much sleep despite feeling more exhausted than you could ever remember being, both of you curled against each other as your thoughts played through the last few days.
For a long while things were tense, the weight of the fall sat heavily on both your shoulders, knowing that the organisation you had dedicated your lives to and the only home either of you had ever known was gone like it had never been there, it was a lot to come to terms with.
Luke seemed to grow more and more every day until he was a small boy who began resembling another little boy you had once known although that felt like another lifetime ago.
You knew Obi-Wan had bad days, days where he excused himself to the nearest town because looking at Luke hurt, you know he hated himself for it no matter what you said to try and convince him that it made sense. You got it too, sometimes you looked at him and saw a glimpse of Padmé’s smile, sometimes the resemblance to Anakin was too much for you too.
Things did get easier though, eventually the hurt of losing the Order faded into something easier to live with, the pain of losing Padmé and Anakin had become a part of you and all you could do was keep their memory alive.
“I wish he could stay this little.” You murmured as Luke cuddled into you, squashed between you and Obi-Wan on the sofa, eyes closed as Obi-Wan finished reading a story to him.
“I know what you mean.” Obi-Wan smiled as he looked down at Luke, the boy hadn’t long since turned five but Obi-Wan could still remember how he had cradled the small baby against his chest like it was only yesterday.
For years during your time in the Order you and Obi-Wan had always known you were special to each other, it was different to how you were friends with the other younglings, you and Obi-Wan had been inseparable from day one. Both of you were loyal to the Order and followed the code even if it did mean you couldn’t have the other.
Now there was no code, there was no Order for you to be loyal to. All that was left was this small patch of land on Tatooine and each other. You had already been here for five years, five years that seemed to have flown by in the blink of an eye and had let yourself fall more and more in love with him now that there was nothing stopping you.
You and Obi-Wan had never mentioned it, never defined it but you didn’t have to, you both knew it was love. Waking up next to each other every morning, moving in sync with each other as you cooked, Obi-Wan watching with a soft smile as you and Luke danced around his room whilst getting him ready for the day, the lingering touches, the way you got to fall asleep curled against each other, it was all love.
“Sometimes I wish we could give him more though, a life beyond this shack, one where he could go to school, one where he could make friends.” Obi-Wan sighed, letting his head fall to the side so he could look back at you, you who were smiling at him with such a softness to it.
“Careful what you wish for, Obi-Wan,” You chuckled, reaching over to brush a strand of hair from his face. “Before we know it he’ll be sneaking off into town and wanting to move out and go on his own adventures. Besides, I quite like our little shack in the middle of nowhere.”
“Yes, I suppose our small corner of the galaxy isn’t so bad.” Obi-Wan’s smile widened at your laugh, letting himself lean into your touch causing you to trail your fingers down his cheek and letting your thumb brush across his beard.
Obi-Wan had been a good Jedi, he had followed the code despite how many times he had thought about you in ways that would have seen him thrown out. But five years had passed by since everything had changed and he couldn’t remember what he was holding on to anymore.
It was the easiest thing in the world to lean across, careful not to jostle Luke too much as he did, and press his lips to yours, enjoying the little muffled surprised noise you made against his lips as he kissed you softly, your hand curling around his jaw as you pulled him closer, both of you knowing in that moment that this was right, that the two of you belonged to each other.
“He’s not mad at you.” You told Luke softly as you sat down on the sand next to him, smiling softly as he lifted the toy ship Obi-Wan had gotten for him in the air and flew it around half-heartedly.
“Yes he is.” Luke mumbled, refusing to look at you as he spoke.
It had only been a few years and somehow your life had changed so much. You’d gone from relationships being forbidden to freely and openly loving Obi-Wan, overjoyed with the fact you could kiss him whenever you wanted, with the way you could tell him that you loved him as many times as you wanted.
You and Obi-Wan had been raising Luke for nine years now, the little boy next to you the same age his dad had been when you first met him and the resemblance made you choke up some days, especially when he started showing an interest in the ship you’d brought to Tatooine all those years back, wanting to know everything about it and begged you to let him fly it.
Neither you nor Obi-Wan had left the planet since arriving, that was until today of course. When you and Obi-Wan heard another ship landing outside your hand flew to your lightsaber, Obi-Wan had long since got rid of his and instead reached for a blaster that still seemed odd for him to have even after so long of him owning it.
Obi-Wan had told you to stay in the house with Luke, the little boy having no reason to fear whoever had landed and instead was curious, trying to peer through the windows. As Obi-Wan exited the little shack you joined Luke and stayed where you were for all of thirty seconds before you saw the person who walked off the ship.
You were out of the door and past Obi-Wan before he himself had a chance to see who had arrived and he watched as you wrapped your arms around the figure, barely catching Luke as he ran after you, most likely wanting to see the new ship rather than the new person.
“Bail!” You exclaimed as you pulled out of the hug, “It’s so good to see you.”
“Y/N, Obi-Wan.” Bail smiled before looking down, Luke suddenly shy and clinging to Obi-Wan’s pants. “And this must be Luke.”
“Not that it isn’t good to see you, Bail,” Obi-Wan said and you shot him a look, sure it didn’t bode well that Bail had showed up on Tatooine for the first time since you’d arrive but he didn’t have to jump straight into it, he could at least invite him into the house first. “But you wouldn’t be here unless something had happened.”
“I’m afraid you’re right. I need your help, Obi-Wan.” Bail said and you could see the exact moment Obi-Wan shut himself off, already shaking his head and not letting Bail continue before he cut him off.
“No. Whatever it is you can handle, I won’t get involved again. I have my own family to take care of.” Obi-Wan told him firmly, Bail frowning as he nodded, his eyes falling down to Luke before he sighed.
“And a fine job you’ve done it seems but I’m afraid I have to ask anyway, you know I wouldn’t but…”
“What is it Bail?” You asked him softly, seeing the fear he was trying to hide.
“It’s Leia.” Was all Bail said and it was enough for Obi-Wan to gesture to the house, all of you sitting around the small dining table as you sent a pouting Luke off to play in his room.
“You’ll be safe, won’t you?” You asked Obi-Wan, Bail had left not too long ago after Obi-Wan agreed to go and find Leia.
“There is no need to worry, my love, I will get the girl and be back home before you know it.” Obi-Wan assured, pulling you into his arms and letting his lips linger against your forehead.
“I wish I could come with you.” You sighed and Obi-Wan chuckled softly as he looked down at you.
“I’d rather you were here where I know you’re safe. Besides, somebody needs to watch over Luke.” Obi-Wan told you, grinning at the huff you let out.
“Yeah, yeah Kenobi, you go on your little adventure and I'll stay home and watch the kid pout about not being able to fly around the galaxy with his Uncle.” You grumbled with no real heat behind it, unable to stop a smile tugging at your lips as Obi-Wan laughed before pulling you into a kiss.
Luke had refused to say goodbye to Obi-Wan, instead he only glared at the ship as he watched it disappear from view before walking away, sitting a short distance from the house.
“I know you want to explore the galaxy but you know it’s not safe out there right now.” You told him and watched as he rolled his eyes.
Generally Luke was the sweetest child you’d ever met, so polite and well behaved but the one argument that always came up was Luke wanting to explore the galaxy. He had loved your ship for as long as you could remember, most days you could find him at the wheel, stirring it this way and that, or tinkering away on something that definitely hadn’t needed fixing before he started.
“You and Uncle Obi always say that!” He exclaimed and you felt your heart ache for him.
For years you had fought in the Clone Wars, for years you had battled Separatists and Sith and it was all for them, for the kids like Luke who would get to grow up only knowing the new galaxy you had fought for and not the one plagued with darkness.
Of course all that fighting had amounted to nothing, all the lives lost and hearts shattered, the thinking you were so close to victory only to have it snatched out of your grasp by a plot put together before the war had even began.
“I know we do,” you told him quietly, thoughts so far away on a life that felt like it had been lived a million years ago. “Luke I wish you could, I really do, we wanted the galaxy to be safe but it’s not, I’m sorry.”
“We can make it better!” Luke declared and you laughed even as your vision became blurred with tears, Maker you were tired.
There was no better, how could there be with the Jedi gone and only darkness left. You had given everything you had and it had ended with you at the end of blasters held by men you cared so deeply for. You were tired, the war had taken so much from everyone, you weren’t sure you could do it again.
“You’re growing up too fast.” You told him, reaching over to ruffle his hair and feeling lighter when he laughed but didn’t push you away.
“One day I’m gonna grow up and be the best pilot in the whole galaxy!” Luke told you and you desperately tried to blink away the sting of more tears because you had known the best pilot in the whole galaxy and you had no doubt that had things been different him and Luke would have made one hell of a team.
You didn’t say anything though, just pulled Luke into your arms and this time Luke didn’t fuss like he usually did, telling you he was too old to sit in your lap anymore. The kid was so aware of everyone else’s emotions all the time and seemed to know you just needed to hold him tight against you for a moment.
“He’s alive?” You exclaimed, days had passed and Luke had long since gone to bed by the time you heard the ship land. “Wait, is that why Leia was taken, does he know about them? Are they safe?”
“He doesn’t know, he has no idea who Leia is to him and he certainly has no idea that Luke exists.” Obi-Wan told you calmly after telling you what had happened on his mission to rescue and return Leia. “Nobody is going to hurt him.”
“Force, I can’t believe he’s alive.” You said, sitting down next to Obi-Wan, the man not hesitating to pull you into him after so long apart. “And you’re sure it’s safe for us to stay here?”
“I promise, if I didn’t think it was, I would move us immediately.” Obi-Wan assured you, kissing the top of your head as you let out a shaky breath, nodding against his chest as you let yourself calm down after hearing his story.
“How is Leia?” You asked after a few moments of silence, turning up to look at him and watching as a soft smile pulled at his lips.
“She is quite possibly the bravest little girl I’ve ever met. Considering she has no idea who her biological parents are she is so much like both of them, a stubborn, passionate, kind hearted little thing, ready to take on the galaxy.”
“She sounds like a certain little boy I know who’s been missing his Uncle.” You smiled up at him, “Luke thinks there’s hope for the galaxy, that it can be made better.”
“It seems such an impossible thought, doesn’t it?” Obi-Wan murmured and you nodded again, your fingers playing with his. “It can’t stay like this forever though.”
“I’m not so sure I could handle another war, even then we had the numbers only because of the clones, now what is there? A few people willing to rebel, I wish them all the luck in the galaxy but we tried once.” You sighed, the war seemed a lifetime ago and yet you could still remember how drained you were by the end of it.
“Sometimes a few rebels is all the galaxy needs, maybe not to win the war but to light the spark in others.” Obi-Wan told you, you humming softly before leaning up to close the distance between you with a soft kiss.
“I’m glad you’re back home.” You whispered against his lips.
“Me too, my love.” Obi-Wan murmured before leaning back in to press his lips to yours.
More time passed and before you knew it Luke was so grown up, grown up and even more eager to get out into the galaxy. You and Obi-Wan knew it had only gotten worse, sure people had tried to fight against the Empire but nothing worked, the galaxy only got darker.
Unfortunately you knew you couldn’t keep Luke on Tatooine forever, one day he would leave, the boy was too eager, too kind hearted to leave the galaxy as it was. He had so much fight and so much good in him, not only that but he was also strong in the Force. Obi-Wan and you had been teaching him the ways of the Jedi not too long after Obi-Wan had helped Leia, knowing the boy had already shown signs of being able to use the Force and wanting him to be trained in case something ever did happen, even if it did hurt to see Anakin’s old lightsaber again after so long.
Luke didn’t get the chance to argue again about going out into the galaxy, not when something new came along to drag you out of your safe space on Tatooine.
You and Obi-Wan had made a run into town, leaving Luke alone at the house, not that he stayed there of course. Once you and Obi-Wan left Luke found himself wandering around outside until he made his way onto the ship.
He had always felt at home on the ship you had brought with you, he dreamed of flying and though he loved his life on Tatooine with you and Obi-Wan he couldn’t help but want more. He had listened to the stories from both of you growing up, the tales from the war, the adventures you had had together. He wanted that, he knew he was meant for more.
He was startled out of his thoughts when he heard a crash near the house and he leaned forward in his seat to look out of the window, not seeing anything for a moment and then suddenly two droids came into view.
“Droids?” Luke murmured to himself, pulling himself off the seat and making his way off the ship, the droids spotting him immediately and the R2 unit zooming over to him whereas the other just mumbled to itself.
The R2 unit beeped at him and Luke frowned as he watched the unit crash into his legs.
“Whoa, hey there buddy, what’re you two doing so far out here?” Luke asked them both and the R2 beeped wildly at him again.
“You’ll have to forgive my small friend, he seems to think he’s on an important mission when really we barely escaped with our lives from the Empire.” The other droid told him and Luke’s eyes widened.
“The Empire? You know about the rebellion?” He asked with a grin on his face and the droid nodded.
“Of course, me and R2-D2 here are more than familiar with the rebellion.” The droid said, sounding as exasperated as a droid could.
“Yeah you two do look a bit banged up. You want me to patch you up, buddy?” He asked R2 and the droid beeped again like he was excited causing Luke to laugh. “Alright then, come up onto the ship, that’s where my Aunt keeps the tools.”
The three of them made their way onto the ship and Luke knew when you and Obi-Wan got back you were going to kill him but he couldn’t help it, he loved tinkering with the scraps you brought home from market, now he had the chance to patch up real droids, ones who knew about the rebellion no less.
“What did you say your name was?” Luke asked as he crouched down in front of R2 and got to work on him.
“Oh I didn’t sir but I am C-3PO, human-cyborg relations.” C-3PO introduced himself as he settled against the wall and watched as Luke worked.
“Nice to meet you both, I’m Luke.” He smiled at them, grunting as he tried to get something that was jammed in R2 unstuck. “You’ve got something jammed good in there buddy, let me just-”
Luke was cut out as he was shocked by the R2 unit before a holo started playing, Luke looking towards the girl as her voice filled the ship.
“Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi. You’re my only hope.” The girl pleaded and Luke frowned as he turned to the droids.
“What’s this?” He asked as the holo continued to play. “Who is that girl, why is she asking for help?”
His frown deepened as both of the droids shrugged it off as old footage, he couldn’t help but think they were lying to him. He didn’t know what reason they’d have to lie but two droids suddenly appearing and looking for Obi-Wan was strange.
“R2 says it is a private message for Obi-Wan Kenobi, he refuses to tell you anything unfortunately, sir.” C-3PO finally said after talking with R2 and Luke frowned before his face lit up.
“If you’re looking for Obi-Wan Kenobi I can take you right to him!” Luke said as he stood up.
“You know Obi-Wan Kenobi, sir?” C-3PO asked and Luke nodded excitedly, gesturing for the droids to follow him.
“Of course, Obi-Wan is my uncle, him and my aunt should still be in town, I can take you to him!” Luke grinned and the three of them made their way towards the town. It was a fair trek away from their house but it didn’t take awfully long to get there.
He had been to the town only a few times and each time he went he was never allowed to wander off despite being so curious about everything. This was the first time in his whole life he’d been by himself and he knew once the two of you saw him he’d be done for.
It was worth it though, the small thrill running through Luke, his first adventure!
It took some searching but eventually he found you and Obi-Wan, you were sitting together on a bench some distance away from everyone else and the second R2 saw you he shot off like a rocket, leaving Luke to chase after him with a yell and C-3PO to sigh to himself.
Your eyes widened as you looked over Obi-Wan’s shoulder, gasping at the R2 unit barrelling towards you. You were off your seat before Obi-Wan had noticed the droid and crouching down just in time for R2 to crash into you causing you to laugh.
“R2, is it really you?” You asked and the droid let out a series of excited beeps. “Force, what are you doing all the way out here?”
“Luke?” Obi-Wan asked and your head snapped up to see a sheepish looking Luke, C-3PO showing up behind him a second later. “3PO?”
“You know these droids?” Luke asked and you taped R2 once more before standing up and glaring at Luke.
“The question is how do you know these droids and what in the stars are you doing out here alone?” You asked him with a glare causing him to look down at his feet, kicking at the sand.
“They were looking for Uncle Obi-Wan!” Luke defended himself, “They have a message, a girl is in trouble, she needs your help!”
You and Obi-Wan shared a look, a girl needing his help, there was only one person in the whole galaxy who fit that description, young Leia Organa.
“Let us get back to the house, it isn’t safe to talk out here.” Obi-Wan murmured and you nodded in agreement, starting the walk back home, wondering what trouble had managed to find Leia this time.
“General Kenobi, years ago you served my father in the Clone Wars. Now he begs you to help him in his struggle against the Empire. I regret that I am unable to present my father’s request in person. But my ship has fallen under attack and I’m afraid my mission to bring you to Alderaan has failed. I have placed information vital to the survival of the Rebellion into the memory systems of this R2 unit. My father will know how to retrieve it. You must see this droid safely delivered to him on Alderaan. This is our most desperate hour. You once told me I would see you again if I ever needed help, this is the time. Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi. You're my only hope.”
You and Obi-Wan were silent as the message finished, sharing a look between you, Obi-Wan standing and gesturing for you to follow him. When Luke went to follow you gave him a pointed look and the boy sat right back down again.
“What is Bail up to?” You asked and Obi-Wan could only shrug though he wouldn’t be surprised if his old friend was part of the new Rebellion. “We have to get that droid to Alderaan.”
“We’d need to bring Luke, we cannot leave him here alone.” Obi-Wan said, causing you to scrunch your nose in displeasure. “He will be fine, the boy is strong with the Force, one of the strongest I have seen.”
“Just because you’re right doesn’t mean I have to like it.” You mumbled causing Obi-Wan to chuckle and pull you into his arms, pressing a kiss to your forehead.
“I know, my dear, believe me I want nothing more than for Luke to stay here, to never know the cruelness of the world beyond this place but unfortunately, despite our best wishes, the boy has grown up.” Obi-Wan told you and you couldn’t stop the stinging in your eyes. “He’ll be fine, we raised him well.”
“It wasn’t supposed to be like this, you can feel it too, I know you can, something big is coming. He shouldn’t be near it.”
“That boy knows he is made for something bigger than Tatooine, one day he may choose to fight and he will be a worthy Jedi. All we can do is give him the tools and guidance he needs to stay safe.” Obi-Wan said as he pulled you closer to him, smiling softly as you gripped his robe.
“We need a way off Tatooine, the ship is fine for small journeys but it’ll never get us to Alderaan in one piece.” You told Obi-Wan after pulling away and taking a shaky breath.
“We’ll fly it to Mos Eisley, leave the rest to me, my love.”
It only took a few mind tricks to get past the troopers, tricks that seemed to impress Luke, of course he’d been taught about the Force and what it was capable of but he had never actually seen anything like that.
Taking Luke into the seedy cantina was the last thing you wanted to do but Obi-Wan seemed certain you’d find your pilot in there. As you entered Obi-Wan moved away and began talking to somebody, out of the corner of your eye you saw Luke looking around in wonder before he went to move away, only stopped by you grabbing his arm.
“You stay with me, I’m still not thrilled you’re coming along but if you are you’ll do as I say.” You told him sternly, having Luke so far away from home had your nerves on edge, that mixed with the shift in the Force had anxiety running through you.
You couldn’t do anything about whatever was happening with the Force but you could protect Luke and that you would do with your life.
“Come on, Aunt Y/N, I’ll be fine!” Luke whined but didn’t try and pull away from you, moments letting stepping closer when a creature with four arms grunted at him causing you to snort.
As you walked further into the bar Luke got closer and closer to you until he was pressed against your side, his arm wrapped around yours like he had done when he was much younger. You couldn’t help but smile despite the situation and squeezed his hand before giving him a reassuring smile as Obi-Wan gestured you over, telling you about a captain who could potentially get you to Alderaan.
“Han Solo.” The man introduced himself as he sat next to the Wookiee. You glanced at Luke and elbowed his side when you saw him staring too openly at the creature causing him to pout at you. “I’m captain of the Millennium Falcon.”
You listened to him as he talked his ship up, Luke hanging onto the captain’s every word and you almost felt sorry for the man if he agreed to take you, knowing Luke would already have a million and one questions for him.
“Ten thousand, all in advance.” The captain told you and you watched as Luke gasped, rolling your eyes as you looked towards Obi-Wan.
“We could buy our own ship for those credits!” Luke exclaimed as he turned to you and Obi-Wan before snapping his attention back to Han.
“And who’s gonna fly it, kid? You?”
“I could! I’m an excellent pilot!” Luke declared, your gaze still on Obi-Wan, full of amusement as he looked at you in exasperation.
“Luke, why don’t we let your uncle do the talking?” You said softly, ignoring the wide eyes and pout that was sent your way. “Remember what I said.”
“Obi-Wan, where in the Force are you getting fifteen thousand credits?” You asked after the deal was struck and you had put enough distance between you and anyone listening.
“Bail wants the droid, I’m sure he won’t mind paying the captain who delivered it.” Obi-Wan told you with a grin.
“You’re sticking Bail with a fifteen thousand credit bill?” You laughed as you nudged him, causing Obi-Wan to laugh.
From then on it hadn’t taken long at all to sell your ship for the advance payment and before you knew it you were meeting up with the Wookiee and making your way to the Falcon, though once you arrived you had a bad feeling upon seeing it, wholeheartedly agreeing with Luke that it looked like a heap of junk.
“So much for no Imperials.” You muttered to yourself as you heard blaster shots and looked out of the window in time to see a swarm of them surrounding you but thankfully between the Wookiee and the captain were able to get you off Tatooine and into hyperspace.
Once you were in hyperspace you smiled as Obi-Wan tested Luke’s work with his lightsaber, knowing that something was bound to go wrong on this mission and wanting Luke to be as prepared as possible. Your smile didn’t last long though, if you thought something was happening with the Force before it was nothing compared to the sudden pain and terror you felt, gasping as you leaned back in your seat and watching Obi-Wan sit down.
“Something terrible has happened.” You heard Obi-Wan say and that was putting it lightly, you managed to push yourself to your feet before sitting down next to him, Obi-Wan’s arm wrapping around you and pulling you close as you buried yourself against his chest.
You stayed quiet for the rest of the trip, reaching out into the Force and trying to feel something but it just felt empty. Whilst Obi-Wan distracted himself with Luke, you followed Chewbacca and Han into the cockpit as he announced you were coming out of hyperspace.
You were glad for Obi-Wan following in not too long after, wrapping an arm around you and holding you against his chest as you staggered back once the captain announced you’d arrived but Alderaan was gone.
Everyone around you spoke but you were frozen, staring ahead at the destruction before you as Han flew through it, frowning at the space station that came into view.
“I have a very bad feeling about this.” Luke said and you moved away from Obi-Wan to pull Luke against you, the young man not pushing you away and instead leaning into your hold.
The fear in Luke's voice when Han announced you were caught in the tractor beam turned you cold as he turned to cling to you and you hated that he was on this ship at all, you knew nothing good could have come from it and now, if anything happened to Luke you’d never forgive yourself.
You almost gasped as you felt something in the Force, Obi-Wan turning to look at you and you knew you weren’t imagining it, you knew he had felt it too. You knew what had become of Anakin but to see his destruction, to see how far he had fallen first hand was different to hearing the stories.
You didn’t have time to think for too long though, the captain grabbing your arm whilst the Wookiee took Luke’s and they led you down to hide under the compartments. You waited until it was all clear and let Luke pull you up, him taking his spot pressed against you again.
You let Han and Chewbacca take care of the troopers outside of the ship before following them into the command centre, letting R2 find his way around and sitting against one of the crates in the room.
Anakin, no Vader had done this, he had been a part of the destruction of Alderaan. Your gaze shifted to Luke, your heart aching even more as you saw the fear he tried to hide, then you moved to look at Obi-Wan.
He looked like he’d aged so much since leaving Tatooine and you were sure you looked the same, you felt the same at least. After everything you’d lost there weren’t too many people you had left in the galaxy to trust and now Bail was gone, him and Breha and the rest of Alderaan wiped out and for what?
You knew Anakin was gone but you had to believe some part of him was in there, buried deep down. Surely he was tired of the fighting and the wars. Hadn’t you all had enough of it to last a lifetime?
Obi-Wan’s gaze found yours and he smiled though it was strained, you forced yourself to smile back though, forced yourself to push your feelings into the Force and focus on getting Luke out of here alive.
You listened as C-3PO told you that the ship could leave so long as one of the terminals lost its power and Obi-Wan looked at you, raising an eyebrow and you nodded.
“You boys can’t help, me and Y/N will deal with this alone.” Obi-Wan told them and you ignored Han in favour of turning to Luke.
“Y/N, don’t go.” Luke pleaded as he clung to your robes before you even had the chance to speak, him already getting teary eyed and you forced yourself to smile again, to use all your Jedi training to hide your emotions and project a calm you didn’t feel.
“You’ll be fine.” You told him, smoothing his hair from his face and bringing him close enough so you could press a kiss to his forehead. “If anything happens you know what to do, you are strong with the Force, trust in it and trust yourself.”
“Please don’t go, at least let me come with you.” Luke begged, a tear slipping down his cheek.
“Come on, none of that now. Nothing is going to happen to you, I promise. I don’t care how grown up you get on me, I’m not going to let anything happen to you, you will get off this space station.” You promised him, cupping his cheek and wiping away the few more tears that slipped down.
“Uncle Obi-Wan, I wanna go with you two.” He turned to the other man causing you to laugh softly and Obi-Wan squeezed his upper arm.
“You stay here, stay with the droids. They are of top priority and must be delivered safely. Now listen to your Aunt.” Obi-Wan said softly, forcing his own smile on his face before Luke nodded, seeing he was fighting a losing battle.
“The Force will be with you, always.” Obi-Wan told him before gesturing for you to follow him and you went with one last glance towards Luke, mouthing an ‘I love you’ to him and finding your smile wasn’t as forced when he whispered it back.
You and Obi-Wan kept silent as you made your way through the base, it was almost embarrassing how easy it was to move around unnoticed with so many troopers and imperial officers on board, Obi-Wan clearly thinking the same as he smirked at you when you snuck past another large group of stormtroopers.
“You can feel him too, can’t you?” You whispered as you and Obi-Wan pressed against each other to avoid another group. “Even with the darkness surrounding him, you can feel him, right?”
“Yes my dear, it is Darth, no doubt about it.” Obi-Wan told you with a heaviness in his tone and you reached up to cup his cheek, feeling him smile faintly. “How twisted the Dark side within him has become.”
“You’re not just going to disable the power, are you?” You asked him and watched as his face darkened, not giving you an answer out loud but he didn’t need to, he never had to, you knew him better than anyone in the whole galaxy. “Whatever plan you had to get rid of me, to distract me whilst you snuck away, change it right now because you are not doing this alone.”
Obi-Wan went to open his mouth but he could see he wasn’t winning this argument so let it fall closed and instead leaned down to kiss you, both of you holding each other close and savouring the feeling.
“I love you, Obi-Wan.” You whispered against his lips, feeling the way his breath hitched being so close to him.
“I love you too, my dear one, more than you could ever know.” Obi-Wan murmured back, placing one more kiss to your lips before pulling away and you continued on your way.
The two of you made quick work of shutting down the power to the tractor beams so the Falcon would be able to take off and it was easy to sneak past the troopers keeping watch once it was done.
You followed behind Obi-Wan, pausing when he gestured for you to wait as he went ahead, scouting the next room and walking into it. You frowned as he failed to give you the all clear after a few seconds and looked up and down the hallway before moving across.
“No!” You exclaimed as the door slid shut before you could enter the room, locks sliding into place, your fists banging against it doing nothing. “Obi-Wan!”
From behind the glass you could see Vader already in the room, cloaked and masked with his red lightsaber lit, an imposing figure that should strike fear but instead your heart just ached painfully.
“Obi-Wan, open this door!” You yelled and he turned around to give you an apologetic look before facing Vader, lighting his own lightsaber.
You couldn’t hear what they were saying but you winced every time their lightsabers smashed into each other. Pushing yourself away from the door you raised a hand and drew all your strength from the Force and yet the blasted door still wouldn’t open.
You never took your gaze off the two of them, eyes locked onto Obi-Wan the whole time as you watched them battle each other, tears streaming down your face as you pleaded with the Force to just open the door, desperate to get through to Obi-Wan.
You watched as Obi-Wan paused, still holding Vader off but turning to see something you couldn’t before you felt a shift in the Force again, this time instead of fear it was peace spreading through it and you felt your heart beating wildly as you shook your head calling Obi-Wan’s name as sobs wracked your body.
“No!” You called as watched him put his lightsaber down and Vader didn’t miss a beat as he swung for Obi-Wan, the man you had loved for years, for your whole life, fell to the floor before you, gone in the blink of an eye, leaving nothing but a lightsaber and his cloak behind.
As he disappeared the door flew open and you stumbled into the room, falling onto your knees as you sobbed into his cloak.
“Still so loyal to Obi-Wan?” Vader asked, he knew he had recognized more than just Obi-Wan on the space station but hadn’t been sure. “Pathetic.”
You looked up at Vader and it was Vader, there was no more mistaking him for Anakin, not anymore. The Anakin Skywalker you had known would have died before killing Obi-Wan.
Vader lifted his lightsaber again, ready to strike you down as he had Obi-Wan. There was a moment, it was only a moment that lasted no longer than a second, where you had to make a choice.
It wasn’t a hard choice, a thought you had had so many years ago back when you were young and exhausted hit you, a world without Obi-Wan Kenobi was not a world you ever wanted to be in. Even in just these few seconds it had been since Vader had killed him the galaxy felt emptier immediately, it felt like a part of you had been ripped out, an aching hole in you that would never be mended.
You had never lived in a galaxy without Obi-Wan and you didn’t plan on doing so now.
You were old and you had lived a full life, more than a full life. You had been a Jedi Master, you had fought wars and commanded armies, you had settled down with the love of your life and got to spend every day at his side, raising a child who was yours in every way but blood, a child you loved more deeply than you thought possible.
It had been a good life, tiring but filled with so much love, even before the Order fell and it was an emotion that Jedi weren’t supposed to feel. You loved the men under your command, spending years at their sides and becoming closer than friends, becoming a family as you fought together on the front lines, earning their respect by standing with them. You had loved Anakin dearly, helping Obi-Wan navigate his new life of suddenly having a Padawan and taking Anakin under your wing when Obi-Wan’s grief over the loss of Qui-Gon was too much and he needed to be alone. You loved Padmé and Bail, dear friends and two of the few people you trusted more than anyone. Mostly you had loved Obi-Wan, long before you had even truly known what that had meant.
It was a good life, a long life and you knew it was done there. You hoped one day Anakin would find his way back, that he would find a way to rid himself of such darkness but there was nothing you could do to help him, not now.
You were tired and you were at peace, ready to join Obi-Wan, sure he was waiting for you on the other side for whatever grand adventure awaited the two of you next and as you turned your head you saw Luke watching you, the boy crying but he wasn’t alone, his sister had her arms around him and you managed to mouth a final ‘I love you’, managed to see Luke choke out the same three words before Vader’s lightsaber struck you too.

Robes and Rules - Obi Wan Kenobi
“Parting is such sweet sorrow” - Romeo and Juliet
Tumblr media
You stirred at a sound of rustling. It was a strange way of waking. For after so long, you were used to being stirred by wandering hands and the dimness of the light’s morning setting, that bathed your quarters in a soft yellow glow. It was a colder way of waking that left you wanting.
And at the sight of Obi Wan is shrugging on his first robes, it’s chill grew. Your chest grew heavy and tension gathered in your shoulders. Every weight you felt, that of the world, the galaxy, this situation, shifted with you as laid on your side to watch your lover leave.
“Is it time already?” Your words came out horse, riddled with the leftovers of sleep and haunted by the blissed-out ghost of your voice from the night before. Obi Wan already slipped his arms through the sleeves as you asked. When he pivoted his stance to face you, you caught a glimmer in his blue eyes.
“I’m afraid so.”
“Pity,” you murmured, turning to rest on your back and face the cold, lonely ceiling. “Felt like there were things we could continue.”
“For both our sakes, I don’t think we should.”
“Careful,” you warned, flicking your gaze back over to Obi Wan. “You’re starting to sound more and more like the collective Council.”
“There are rules, Y/N.”
You nodded bitterly and returned your eyes to the ceiling. The moment you did, you heard Obi Wan’s boot clomp against the floor of your room. It took your every ounce of willpower to keep from watching him as he walked out your door. You simply stayed still, listening for the hiss that would come with the opening entrance and his dulled footfalls.
When the sound of the door never sounded, you turned your head and saw him. Obi Wan stood at your bedside, paces away from the exit, paces away from leaving. He was yours, for a few seconds longer. You reached out a lazy hand in the hopes he would take, prove that he was truly yours. That he would stay.
“There are feelings too, Obi,” you countered softly. “Unless there isn’t?”
“No, there are,” he whispered. Obi Wan took your extended hand and a trembling breath slipped past your lips.
Almost as if he heard the shaking in your throat, he moved to sit on the edge of your bed. The mattress dipped under his weight, incidentally letting you fall closer into his warmth. His bright blue eyes drank in your features and you were thrust back into similar mornings. Mornings of pillow talk and careful caresses before someone’s comm chimed, tore down the peace you built in the peaceful hours of dawn.
“Then we continue.”
“Then we continue,” he replied, but his lips faltered down into a frown. “But you must know that my allegiances to-”
“The Republic,” you interrupted, giving his hand a soft squeeze. You and Obi Wan had talked so many times about this before, what would happen if what you had fell apart. “As are mine, as are all the Jedi.”
“Yes, but my allegiances to you will endure, whether we continue or not. Know that.”
As he spoke, Obi Wan leaned in closer, until his face was tantalizing few inches from your own. His warmth both put you at ease and stole your breath away. When you felt it soak into the sheets of your bed and to your exposed skin beneath, you also became suddenly aware of how vulnerable you were. But as Obi Wan’s free hand moved to cup your face, you knew he would not exploit that fact; he would protect you, always.
“I know now,” you replied once you found your breath again.
A soft silence settled between you then. Obi Wan’s hands remained on you: his left gave yours a gentle squeeze while the right traced your jawline. He drew you in and pressed the lightest of kisses to the corner of your mouth. You smiled when Obi Wan pulled away before you tugged his lips back to yours. He relented, kissed you harder than the last time.
His beard tickled your chin and coaxed your smile to widen. You felt his own mouth mirror your expression. At the sensation, you titled your head back and studied Obi Wan’s expression. How rare it was to see him smile. You leaned back and savored the sight. “I’ll see you at today’s meeting?” Obi Wan asked, his tone low in a whisper. You merely nodded in response and he leaned forwards once more, pressed yet another kiss to your forehead.
He stood up then, gave your hand a last squeeze, and headed towards the door of your chambers. Watching Obi Wan leave was never easy. Even in those slow mornings of wandering hands, you always felt a pang of loss when he walked away. But then, that morning, with the tingling feeling of his lips on your yours and your skin lingering, it was lessened.
Though, as always, Obi Wan left with a part of your heart in his.

Summary: When Padmé get's assassinated, Obi Wan and you head into pursuit. You keep getting flustered with the teasing comments Obi Wan drops while chasing the assassin. You blow him a kiss, jumping out of the speeder after spotting the assassin, giving Obi Wan a heartattack. Reunited, he scolds you for being reckless. Afterwards he is still bothers and corners you into an alley. Tensions rise as he hopes you understand to never do it again. Happy May the fourth!
Tumblr media
“Hurry!” – Obi Wan called out, pointing at the speeder. You ran around, jumping in at the side of the steering wheel. Obi Wan giving you a quick raised brow. You chuckled mischievous. He sighed soft letting himself slide beside you. Before he could say anything, you stepped on the gas, the speeder flinging forwards. Obi Wan grabbed on tight to the side, face contracted with fear. You laughed loud, turning at the steering.
You maneuvered through other crafts. The speeder swinging from left to right, swirling into other lanes. Smiling you, turned hard at the steering, the speeder taking a full spin over a craft. You turned the speeder back around, suddenly in front of the craft. Obi Wan looking your way with a scowl. – “Eyes on the road Kenobi.” – you told him, focusing on not crashing into others.
Obi Wan chuckled. – “Maybe I like looking at you.” – he teased all smug before his face contracted with fear from a spin that you caused. You laughed loud, removing one hand from the steering to point his face forwards. – “I need you to look for the assassin.” – you reminded him. Obi Wan nodded, looking around. – “There!” – you called out and without a warning you moved the nose of the speeder down.
Obi Wan calling it out in a panic, holding on tight. You with a wide smile on your lips. You kept going down, passing through other crafts going forwards. Obi Wan swallowed seeing a larger ship hover across. Panic reflecting in his eyes. – “Y/n.” – he said calmly yet slightly becoming nervous. You were laughing with excitement. – “Pull up.” – he said. The speeder kept going straight down. – “Y/n pull up!” – he called out a bit more frantic. The large ship approaching.
You pulled at the steering as the speeder’s nose went up. Flying out of control from left to right just above it. Obi Wan looked behind him to the passing ship. – “You know I hate it when you do that.” – he said. You smiled smug at him. – “I’m sorry Obi Wan, I forgot you don’t like flying.” – you teased sarcastically. – “I don’t mind flying.” – Obi wan answered. – “What you are doing is making my heart speed up… although you don’t need a speeder for that.” – he winked your way.
Eyes slightly widening you felt like squealing loud. Cheeks flustering with heat. You dropped the speeder, flying a notch lower. Looking around for any sign of the assassin to try and get the flush out of your cheeks. You furrowed your brows at the new section you were flying through. Pillars breathing fire at all sides. You swayed around them neatly. Obi Wan unable to resist a comment. – “Is it hot here or is that just you?”
You nearly choked in your own breathing at how smooth that was. – “I am trying to focus, Obi Wan.” – you told him unable to stop getting flustered. It was hot around the fires and now you even felt hotter. Beyond boiling temperature. Ready to melt into a puddle. Obi Wan pointed forwards as the assassin drew closer. You nodded speeding a bit up, ever so watchful of the fires. The assassin drew its blaster, shooting. Your eyes widened seeing the electricity spur across.
“Y/n you can’t be serious!” – Obi wan said. It was too late to pull up as you flew right through it. The electricity electrocuting you. It made you shudder a bit till it passed. Obi Wan exhaled loud. – “Feels almost like being around you.” – he said. Biting your lip, you couldn’t handle how much he kept casually flirting with you while flying. You sped up, catching up with the assassin. She was swift, but you could easily follow. Avoiding others without any sweat.
You followed her into a tunnel. Spinning the speeder around to gain positions closer to her. She shot out, you moments later. Obi Wan patted you on the knee as you came to a slow stop. His arms crossed, looking around. – “Well you’ve lost ‘em.” – he said. You were looking curiously down. – “I’m deeply sorry Obi Wan.” – you told him. – “That was some short cut Y/n. He went completely the other way.”
You were looking back down again. – “If you’ll excuse me.” – you casually said, blowing him a kiss. You got up and jumped out of the speeder. – “Y/n!” – Obi Wan shouted, moving to your side to grab the steering. He looked down, watching you fall. His heart pounding loudly against his chest. His mind panicking. You kept falling. Obi Wan almost afraid to look. Hoping you wouldn’t crash into another speeder. His muscles pulled together, startled when you landed hard on the speeder of the assassin.
He allowed himself to exhale brief out of relief. Although he was still very much worried. You were holding on tight. The assassin looking up, turning the steering. You nearly rolled off, holding on at the last moment. Swaying your leg up, you tried crawling on it. The speeder faced down making you slide down. At the long edges, you grabbed on. Ducking down, you avoided being blasted at. Obi Wan’s heart rate spiking up dangerously.
He was chasing after you, hoping to catch up quick enough if he needed to catch you. The assassin moved the speeder closer to the side, wanting to squash you between as it flew straight once more. You swayed from side to side, avoiding it. You managed to crawl up, taking out your lightsaber. It lighted up as you drew it down. Moving it around in the cockpit to hurt the assassin.
The assassin fired back. A shot hit your hand, making you lose your grip on your lightsaber. It flung through the air. Obi Wan noticed the saber coming his way, moving his hand up to catch it for you. He tossed it onto the seat beside him. He sped up more to come to your aid. Jaw tense with constant worry. You stuck your hand through the gap you had created, grabbing at her hands. She kept moving it away, but you were able to get a grip on her hand.
You diverted her hand down as she started shooting. She shot her own compartments as it shot fire. The speeder was fastening down. She swaying her hand across as the speeder wobbled from side to side. You had to hold on tight to not fall off. Obi Wan drawing nearer as he noticed you were about to crash. The ground came closer making you groan. Letting go, you rolled to the side off the speeder. You hit the ground hard, rolling over till you came up on your knees.
The speeder sliding over the floor, sparks coming from underneath it till it bumped. You coughed loud, holding your side. Obi Wan parked the speeder down, jumping out. He ran over to you, grabbing you firm by your arm before you could run off to the assassin. – “Are you mad?” – he scolded, shoving your saber against your stomach.
You caught it, taking it in your hand. – “What you did was out of the question! You could’ve been killed!” – he fired at you, angry at you for being so reckless. – “The assassin.” – you told him, attempting to move towards them. Obi Wan grabbed your elbow, keeping you in place. – “I never want to see you do that again!” – he ordered.
He finally let go of you as you rushed towards the speeder. The assassin gone. Out of anger, you stomped your fist against the burning speeder. Obi Wan pulling you away before it would blow. You found the assassin quickly, running after them. Finally you caught them as it was of little victory. Their face shifted into many as they slowly dried out. Walking back to the speeder, Obi Wan still had the knot in his stomach.
You got startled when he took a hold of your elbow, pulling you into an alley. He shoved you hard against the wall, coming to stand before you. His hand pressed firm beside you on the wall. His other hand moving swiftly through his hair to lay it flat. He took a deep breath. You swallowed shy at how he was hovering over you. – “Do you understand what you did was risky?” – he asked loudly, joining his other hand beside you.
You nodded flustered, his eyes staring intensely back at you. – “So much could’ve gone wrong.” – he continued, moving his head closer. You were half listening, suddenly drawn to his lips. Wetting yours briefly, you stared down at his lips. Looking up, you were caught by him. Obi Wan had noticed how your eyes had drifted down to his lips. He held his tongue, simply watching you. Shy, you drew your face away.
Obi Wan removed his hands from against the wall, taking your head and turning it back to you. – “Do you understand?” – he asked as you slowly nodded. Obi Wan exhaled deep, moving his eyes down to your lips too. Swallowing nervously, he brought your face closer to his, kissing your lips tenderly. Moving his lips a bit away, he couldn’t help himself but smile teasingly. Tilting his head a bit, he kissed you again.

OMG HI THIS IS SO PERFECT I NEED THIS SO BAD so thank you for sending this in <3 ur my new fav person
&& MERRY CHRYSLER :) consider this my gift to you!
Tumblr media
"i don't get why we had to be sent away DURING the holiday season. the council couldn't have waited?"
you grumbled some variation of this under your breath for several minutes straight while preparing the flight out to dantooine
and obi agrees
the two of you are being sent on a long-term operative mission. there's no daily wars or hard combat to face—it was more of a stakeout of sorts—but still, you had to stay alert. just in case
you were mainly upset at the fact that you couldn't relax in your quarters or with your family for the holidays
obi-wan, sensing your blues, decides that he's not going to let that ruin the festivities
you're staying in a quaint little home for the next few weeks. it's plainly, but relatively tidy
"there's a life day market in town! we can pick some food up there, and decorations, if you're up for it" obi had suggested, so that's what you end up doing
while at the market, which is bustling with people from all over the galaxy (you later find out that dantooine's life day market is one of the biggest there is), the two of you are mistaken for a married couple
but hey, the status gets you several discounts on fresh fruit
even after you leave the produce booth, he keeps his hand interlocked with yours
(and you like it. though you'd die before admitting it lol)
you haul several giant bags and baskets of supplies back to your place
(correction, obi-wan does most of the heavy lifting. you're only carrying the tree decorations so you look like a tangled bundle of color that has no start or end)
it takes you everything you have not to stare at how his arms flex when he moves things
you didn't realize obi had a creative side to himself, so when you let him take charge of decorating, you didn't know what to expect
but once the two of you finish decorating you're pretty amazed
the tree glitters with woven string lights and ornaments that look like stars plucked straight from the heavens, shining in hues of rose gold and ivory white
"it's so beautiful," you exhaled
"indeed, it is," obi-wan replied, but he wasn't even looking at the light fixtures (he was looking at you instead)
you're about to unpack the groceries and start cooking but he stops you in your tracks, placing his hands on your shoulders and giving them a gentle squeeze
"let me handle this, darling. i insist," he says—and you can feel your face growing warm at the term of endearment
so you sit down by the fireplace with a blanket around your shoulders and watch as he carefully cuts up the starfruit and places it in a porcelain bowl, dices the meat and vegetables, and pours hot chocolate (you made a mental note to ask him later which booth that was from) into two mugs
for a moment you get completely lost in the idea of living a peaceful, domestic life with him. one where you wake up every morning to the fresh smell of coffee and berries and are greeted with a tight embrace
but you're brought back to reality with the reminder that technically, you're on a mission right now, and you're both jedi
so no amount of wishing and praying will make any bit of that domestic life come true
:(
"you've been so quiet," he suddenly speaks up
"just...tired," you reply, and it's the truth. the entire flight over, you didn't sleep a wink—you always had trouble falling asleep
he decides not to question you further—he knows what's bothering you; he always does
dinner is amazing as always—you're good at cooking, too, but your skills pale in comparison to what obi has
after you eat, you sit down by the fireplace, wrapped up in several thick blankets with steaming hot chocolate in hand
"how long has it been since you last saw your family?" he asks
"seven years," you say. "we write letters to each other, but you know, given my schedule, it's hard to pay them a visit. i hardly see them anymore..."
"i can be your family, then," he offers with a sad smile
and you feel your heartbeat pick up speed just a little
not because you're secretly in love with him...of course not lmao
but because he's always been here for you and continues to be
you lean against him and close your eyes and just. take him in
like. how does this man smell so good...
it's as if he bathed in every warm and comforting scent you could think of
and you can almost pretend that you're right back home in the arms of the one you love, and not millions of miles away on a foreign moon
(jokes on you, he is your new home)
you're not sure how long you stay cuddled up like that for, but you wouldn't mind if it lasted for the entirety of your mission
"you know i love you," he says quietly after he thinks you've fallen asleep, and he gently kisses your forehead
but you manage to whisper back an "i love you too" before drifting off
obi-wan finally feels at peace
& so do you

Obi-Wan Kenobi x Reader.
Summary; Obi-Wan comes home to find you asleep after a long exhausted day teaching the younglings. He can’t help but fall more deeply in love with you.  Warnings; Extreme fluff.
Tumblr media
You smile as the younglings all play in the garden, it was the most normal the younglings get when training to be a Jedi. They were all around seven or eight and in a middle of the war, they needed to have some time to mess around. A distraction. The younglings laughter echoing through the garden as they chase each other in a game of tag.
“Master y/l/n,” One youngling runs up to you, a wide smile on his face, “Can you come and play?”
The other younglings all agree for you play, all asking you to join in. You can’t help but smile, shrugging off your Jedi robe and placing it to the side.
“Fine,” You reply, placing a hand on the younglings shoulder, “But Charlie is it.”
The other younglings giggle as you run, Charlie running after you with a shout and a giggle. You run around, the younglings following you and all shouting, Master Yoda watches with a small smile, noticing the smile on his old Padawan's face as you run around with the younglings like the world had melted away. Master Yoda watches as you round up the younglings, they sit in a circle, legs crosses and hands sat in their laps.
“Okay, to finish the lesson today,” You say as the younglings all listen to you, “I want you to close your eyes, focus on a happy moment,” You do the same as a demonstration, “You need to feel calm and when in battle you focus on the happy moment to make you feel calm, it will clear you mind and give you a focus point to continue and fight on.”
You could sense a wave of calmness when you focused on something that made you happy. The younglings calmness radiating through the gardens, Master Yoda watching with a small smile and hope that there was light amongst the darkness of the war. After a few minuets, you open your eyes, smiling at Master Yoda who stands by the garden doors.
“Alright,” You gently say making sure not to startle the younglings in their meditations, “That’s all for today, bright and early tomorrow,” A few groan making you chuckle, “I know but tomorrow Master Kenobi will be with us to help with your training.”
That made them smile. You dismiss them after they bow and thank you for the lessons today. Master Yoda wonders outside, the younglings bowing in respect as they pass him. You tuck your curled hair behind your ears as you bow.
“How may I help you Master?” You smile, sitting down on the rocks by the pond next to him.
“Need nothing for you, I want,” Yoda replies, “However need you to get some rest I suggest.”
You frown, “Rest, for what?”
“After teaching, you and Obi-Wan will be going on a mission to Naboo,” Yoda explains, “Darkness I sense, you sense it too and I trust you to you find whatever it is.”
“Whatever it is? Master, do you not know?”
Yoda sighs, “Darkness surrounds us my former Padawan, spies in the government there are, plots to destroy the Jedi there are, you are to identify them and report back to the Jedi.”
You ponder for a moment, sighing, “The war isn’t going to end soon isn’t Master?”
“Follow the light y/n, darkness only surrounds you but light will guide you onto the right path, darkness leads you into the abyss.”
---
Obi Wan sighs as he takes off his Jedi robe, hanging it on the side before walking into the lounge, sitting down to take off his boots. Placing them to the side he wonders into the bedroom, quickly sliding the doors shut behind him with a soft smile. He pauses for a moment, admiring the soft curls on the pillow, your lips parted slightly, your in that silk blue nightdress he adored and the duvet wrapped around your middle.
He gently brushes some hair from cheek, smiling as you hum leaning further into your pillow. Obi Wan walks into the bathroom, stripping from the Jedi cloths and taking his grey top and new comfy bottoms. He does whatever he needs to do before getting into his side of the bed, though there never was a side. He moves the duvet over his to wrap an arm around you. You subconsciously cuddle back into him, his chest pressed against your back, hand taking his and pressing it into your chest.
“Hello darling,” Obi whispers, pressing a kiss on the back of your head.
“Hello Obi,” You reply, voice thick of sleep, eyes still closed.
“I didn’t mean to wake you,” He says, hand squeezing yours as if to wordlessly apologise.
“Its okay,” You raise your entwinned hands to your lips, pressing a kiss on his knuckles, “How was your day?”
“Fine, Anakin is to go and do his trails at the end of the week,” Obi answers, “Makes me feel old.”
You laugh quietly, “We are Obi, Ani is all grown up now, feels like yesterday we met him back on Tatooine.”
“How was your day, darling?” Obi asks.
You can’t help but smile, “I took the youngling to the gardens, its nice to see them be... children for once, their not Jedi, they are just children running around and having fun. They looked so happy.”
“I am glad they have you as their teacher,” Obi replies softly, “They have no better role model.”
You blush, “Your too kind Obi.”
“I only tell the truth,”
Obi Wan smiles, pressing his lips on the nape of your neck, you hum contently. Gently turning in his arms, your legs entwine with his, noses brushing together, eyes closed.
“We have a mission tomorrow, after teaching the younglings-”
“I know, Master Yoda told me this morning,” Obi softly replies, “Our first mission as a married couple.”
You smile, opening your eyes to be met with his blue ones. You places a hand on his chest, were his wedding ring sits looped through a chain. You had the same; your wedding ring looped through a silver chain that hides under your cloths so no one sees them.
“One day, my love,” Obi reads your thoughts, tucking some hair behind your ear, “One day we can wear them on our fingers, we they are meant to be.”
“One day,” You repeat, pressing your lips onto his.
Your lips pressed against his, his hands moving to cup your face, deepening the kiss. You hummed, letting your lips part so you could feel his tongue moving with yours. Obi pulled you closer, wrapping his arms around you, one hand running though your hair holding the back of your head to keep you close. Pulling away slightly, he rests his forehead on yours.
“I love you.”
“I love you too, my love.”

Your relationship with Obi-Wan Kenobi had died with the Jedi Order.
The end of your relationship had been beautifully in sync with the start of your relationship, in the sense that it had been out of necessity and a little for your own soundness of mind. It was clear from the start that Kenobi was essential in your life if you wanted to stay sane. He was grounded and smart, which was a beautiful contrast to your haywire, rebellious ways. So you became friends. And then you found that being friends wasn't really an option, because you loved him and couldn't really live without him. You hadn't expected to find the love of your life in the very place that forbade such a thing, but you would come to learn that the universe wasn't really fair. Still though, it hadn't felt completely and entirely cruel when Obi-Wan affirmed that he felt the same way about you. Thus, triggering the beginning of the most intensely passionate and beautiful five years of your life.
Obi-Wan wasn't a man who did things by halves. In fact, he did them tenfold or he didn't do them at all. That meant that he absolutely carried you through the worst of times and the best of times. He made you feel things you hadn't thought possible: like heaven was right there in the Jedi Temple. Sneaking around and lying to the Council got a little difficult at times, but all it took was one look at him and you knew in your soul that it was worth it. All those whispered conversations of leaving the Order together and having a future, a real future, were the only thing that got you through the war. They'd been nothing but a fantasy at the time.
You still remembered how it felt to see him after Order 66. The comms systems had fallen completely and you had no clue if he was alive. It was too hard to concentrate and reach out over the Force. Those hours had been gruelling.
You'd seen Obi-Wan for the first time aboard Bail Organa's ship. You'd never seen him move so quickly; he took you up in his arms, pulled you into chest and just held you for a moment. Neither of you said anything. Neither of you had to. Amongst the grief and loss, you felt a sense of relief. It was hard to say you'd lost everything when you still had him.
At least you thought. Because by that point, it was beyond dangerous for two Jedi to stay together. There was a galaxy wide manhunt for every remaining knight but especially Obi-Wan. His leading part in this entire thing basically put a target on his back and that was enough danger for one person, let alone two. The Empire would have struck gold if they found you together.
Your only option - and the only way to survive - was to go your separate ways. It hurt. It hurt a lot. Mostly because a small part of you had hoped that those silly fantasies about a future together might finally pay off now that the Order was gone. But, like I said: the universe was cruel. Far crueller than you ever expected it to be.
The only thing that kept you going after your separation was his promise to you.
"I'll never love anyone the way I love you."
Obi-Wan was to go to Tatooine and you were to go Alderaan. Your names would be wiped from the records; you'd be given new identities, new stories, new everything. You owed Bail Organa your life for offering to help you out.
Saying goodbye hurt you in a way you couldn't quite explain. The first few weeks without him were even worst: you could no longer reach out to him when your nightmares sank in during the late hours. There were no blue eyes to open up to; no-one to say sweetheart, don't be stupid every time you were about to make an irrational decision. It was like you were two parts of a whole and now Obi-Wan was gone, the logical part of your mind had gone completely.
Maybe that was why you fell into bounty hunting. The danger and adrenaline wasn't that far off from your days as a Jedi. It paid well and no-one hunting the Jedi would ever think to look in the dingy bars and cantinas of downtown Alderaan. It worked in a way you hadn't expected. Not enough to make you feel as whole as you had at the Temple with Obi-Wan, but just enough so that you could feel yourself moving on.
Obi-Wan's words rung through your brain every night for the next five years. I'll never love anyone the way I love you.
Time passed and you had flings here and there; a few dates that a mutual friend set you up, a brief dalliance with a fellow bounty hunter, yada, yada, yada. None it counted for anything. It was all a desperate attempt to find a connection again. There came a point where it felt like your ability to love another person lived and died with Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Five years after the fall of the Galactic Republic, you took a job in Tatooine. There was a complete disconnect in your mind between the desert planet and Obi-Wan living there. Hell, you didn't know if he was still there. You didn't even know if he was still alive. It had been a good two years since you’d had any updates from him. The Organas had made a point of updating you at first, but that had faded along with your contact with them. Reminders of your former life weren’t what you needed anymore.
Tatooine was dry. It was dusty and it was sandy and it was fucking dry. There was no guarantee that the quarry you were after was even there. Mos Eisley wasn’t exactly a small spaceport; it was packed with different shops and stalls and clustered with people. That made it the least ideal place to try and hunt someone down.
You elbowed your way through the crowds in the main square, eyes peeled for the quarry. Your hood was up around your head - half to protect you from the sun, but also half to hide your face. There had been whispers over the last few weeks of an Empire presence here. Even though Jabba the Hutt apparently ruled the place, it wasn’t completely unheard of for the Imps to be sniffing around everywhere.
Hooking a right, you turned the corner from the main square and into one of the smaller streets. You almost instantly collided with a girl; you let out an oof! as you fell on your ass, a cloud of dust evaporating around your form as you hit the ground. She took a step back and held out her hand.
“I am so sorry!” she exclaimed.
“No, it’s my fault-”
“- oh, darling. Are you running into people again?”
You froze. You actually fucking froze. That was a voice you would have recognised anywhere - even more so because he’d said that phrase to you a thousand times before. It was always oh darling, are you running into people again? or how did you not see the wall, my love? or just…something about how fucking clumsy you were. Obi-Wan had found it endearing.
You heard his voice and then his face came into view. He didn’t look that different - his hair was a little longer and his beard more jagged, but his blue eyes caught yours and immediately you knew it was Obi-Wan Kenobi. Undeniable and in the flesh. Calling another person sweetheart. He took a step towards her and put an arm on her waist, hand resting on her hip. That was how he used to hold you. Fucking ouch.
He hadn’t noticed you. Not yet.
“Oh hush, Ben,” she smiled, and then looked back at you. “I am genuinely sorry. You’re not hurt, are you?”
Not physically. Haha.
“No, not at all,” you cleared your throat.
Obi-Wan glanced from the girl and towards you - then you shared the same look. It was like seeing a ghost from his past. Actually, you were a ghost from his past. He’d tried so hard for so long to shove you to the back of his mind and move on. It was only in the last few years that he’d succeeded. He should have known that you were going to turn up out of nowhere and blow everything apart. You’d done it once before. Why not again?
He didn’t know what to say. That was ironic, because he’d spent hours laying awake at night thinking about the speech he would give you if you ever turned up again. It was gone now. And so it seemed had his ability to speak.
Neither of you knew how to play it. Did you pretend you were strangers, for the sake of the girl in front of you? The girl, who in your opinion, looked at him a little too much like you used to. With some kind of admiration and hope. Like Obi-Wan Kenobi hung the stars in the sky and wrote out the constellations just for you. To her, it seemed he was Ben. You didn’t who the fuck Ben was. Moreso, you didn’t know who the fuck this girl was.
“Ben, is it?” you asked. Okay, you were going with playing dumb. “Are you guys locals?”
“I am!” the girl piped up. “Born and raised, sadly. Ben here moved to the port a few years ago. I don’t think I’ve seen you around here before.”
“I’m…here on business,” you trailed off. “I’m just looking for a hotel, actually. It’s getting dark and I don’t fancy staying on my ship all night. If you guys could just give me directions, I’ll be on my way and-”
You didn’t want to be on your way. You had a thousand questions to ask; some about Kenobi, some about the relationship he seemingly had with this girl. Neither of those things were your business. Your relationship with him had ended half a decade ago. It was just that promise of I’ll never love anyone like I love you that rang through your head. It would have been easier to believe he didn’t look at her the same fucking way he once looked at you.
“The hotels here are extortionate,” she said. “Ben has a spare room. He’s always letting travellers crash there. I’m sure he won’t mind if you stay the night.”
Spoiler alert: he did mind. And you minded too. You minded even more than his name was seemingly Ben now. You knew it mostly for safety, so that the Imps couldn’t find him, but he was always Obi-Wan in your mind. Nothing would ever change that.
“It’s okay,” you insisted. “I really don’t mind paying. Besides, I’m just a stranger and-”
“- nonsense!” she cut you off. “You don’t seem like an axe murderer.”
To Obi-Wan, you were arguably much worse than an axe murderer.
“Uh,” he stuttered. He couldn’t say no - the girl clearly had him wrapped around her finger. “I don’t see why not.”
You gave him a look that said think, Kenobi. Think of a single fucking reason.
Still, he had nothing.
“Great,” you murmured.
The girl leant down and picked up the bags that you’d dropped earlier. She was nice. Too nice. Not only did that make it harder to dislike her, but it made you think that things between them must have been boring. Your entire relationship with Obi-Wan had been built on the fact that you were chaotic as fuck and he was the calm one. You’d ruined his life in the best way.
You spent the rest of the afternoon traipsing after the couple through the Mos Eisley markets. They were together - you could decipher that much. The girl seemed grabbier than him but you couldn’t decipher if it was always that way, or if Obi-Wan was just playing it down because you were there.
It killed both of you not being able to talk about the things you needed, or to say the things you needed to. There was so much unspoken tension in the air and it was a surprise that his lover hadn’t picked up on it. She seemed completely clueless, from the minute she invited you to stay in his spare room, to the minute she kissed him goodbye and retired back to her own house for the night.
That left you and Kenobi in his converted cave, sat in silence until the door slammed shut and you both jumped into action. Naturally, you were the first to speak.
“What the fuck is going on?”
“I could ask you the same,” Obi-Wan shot back. “What are you doing here?”
“I wasn’t lying earlier when I said I was on business,” you said. “I followed a bounty here. I didn’t expect to run into you. To be honest, I wasn’t even sure if you were alive.”
“I am - just about,” he murmured. “I could say the same for you.”
“I wouldn’t call this just about,” you replied, glancing around. “Obi-Wan, who is Ben?”
“Ben is the name I took upon arriving here,” he explained. “Obi-Wan Kenobi is no more. He’s dead. He had to die.”
“He’s not dead,” you shook your head. “I’m looking right at him, aren’t I?”
“Not quite.”
“Oh, don’t give me that,” you scoffed. “I recognised you straight away. I can see it in your eyes - the way you look around when you think you see danger, that inquisitive glance towards the crowds, the way you hold yourself. You can change your name all you want but nothing will change the fact that you are Obi-Wan Kenobi.”
“You haven’t changed one bit.”
“You have, though,” you muttered. “With your new house, and job, and girlfriend-”
“- don’t be like that,” Obi-Wan cut you off. “I had to make a life for myself here. I didn’t know what I’d see you again-”
“- I’m not being like anything,” you rolled your eyes. “I just…do you remember that last promise you made to me before we broke up?”
He nodded. “Clear as day. I promised you that I would never love someone as much as I love you - and I’ve kept that promise.”
“I don’t think you have,” you shook your head. “I’ve seen the way you look at her. You love her. I’m not fucking blind.”
Obi-Wan stood up and crossed the room to where you were standing. It felt weird to be near you again. He wanted nothing more than to reach out and hug you; it’s what he’d been craving for yours. Not just someone’s touch, but your touch. You’d been a pillar in his life and now that you were gone, he’d felt everything crumbling down to the very core.
“Maybe some part of me was just hoping that you’d wait for me,” you murmured. “I know it’s ridiculous. I just think that you might be the very best thing that ever happened to me and even when you’re gone, I’m still foolish enough to cling onto hope.”
“It was circumstantial,” he began. “She lives three doors down. We met and we got on and it made sense for us to start dating. You can see that my life here is a little lacklustre. I thought it might bring excitement.”
“Did it?”
Obi shook his head. “Not in the slightest. She’s nice but she doesn’t get me the way you did. I don’t think anyone ever will - so I might look at her with affection but I can assure you that I will never love anyone the way I love you.”
Love. In the present tense. Not the past. The Jedi were in the past. The Republic was in the past. Everything was in the past. But seemingly, not his love for you, nor your love for him. It might have been dormant for a while but it was bright as day now you were together.
“I’ve spent the last five years chasing a feeling that I can only get with you,” he continued. “Whatever mixture of stress, excitement and terror that may be.”
“Me too,” you said. “Moving on is hard.”
“It is insufferable,” Obi-Wan replied. He took your hands, thumbs ghosting over the back of your palm. “But you have to understand, my love, that moving on is sometimes not a choice so much it is a necessity.”
“I know,” you murmured. “It’s still not safe for us to be together, is it?”
“It’s not,” he confirmed. “And even if it was, what we had is no more. I will undoubtedly take your love with me into the future but our relationship belongs in the past.”
“Right,” you nodded. “Right person, wrong time, I guess.”
“No, not at all - you’re the right person. All the time.”

intellectual beauty — obi-wan kenobi
Tumblr media
SUMMARY — you’re someone who prefers the archives over the battlefield. he’s someone who doesn’t mind either.
WARNINGS — gn!jedi!reader, i’m a history major so i might go a little crazy with star wars lore, fluff
———
HE WATCHED YOU AT FIRST. whenever he’d come to the archives for something, whether that be to look up a bounty hunter or ask madame jocasta a question, he’d always find you there. it didn’t matter the time of day, you were there. your eyes were either scanning datapads or your fingers were ghosting over the shelves. your curiosity was oddly intriguing to him; he wanted to know what all you knew.
you had heard of the famous obi-wan kenobi. the general who so bravely led his men into battle. the jedi master who has the patience of a saint having to deal with anakin skywalker. you’ve never spoken to him, though. you kept your distance and admired him from afar. besides, you weren’t much interested in the tactics and strategies of war.
so you kept to the archives, where you could know everything about war without participating in it. your interest wasn’t exactly war tactics, though, it was history.
generally, history was boring. when you dove deeper and realized there were ancient force users, you paid a little more attention to the things you were reading; you could learn a lot from these ancient force users. so, your days were spent learning all you could.
obi-wan didn’t know what you were doing. he admired your quiet nature, the aura that hung around you, but he never had the time or the courage to say anything. obi-wan kenobi, nicknamed the negotiator because being the flirt was too unorthodox, couldn’t muster up the courage to talk to you.
“master kenobi?” madame jocasta noticed him staring.
“madame jocasta, i apologize, is there something you need?” he snapped back to reality, his eyes fluttering to refocus himself.
“no, but is there something you need?” well, there was, but he didn’t say that it was a someone not a something.
“who’s that over there? every time i’m in the archives i see them here,”
“that’s master l/n. they spend their time in the archives decoding ancient texts. they’ve learned a lot about the force, apparently,” the amusement in jocasta’s voice didn’t pass by obi-wan. you decoded ancient texts. his interest was peaked and he now has a reason to talk to you.
“thank you, madame jocasta,” he nodded and the woman shuffled off. why was he so nervous? anakin would be outright bullying him if he saw him now.
he slowly made his way over to you, and you knew he was coming. you kept your heart from racing as he sat in front of you, folding his hands in his lap.
“madame jocasta told me you’re learning a lot from the ancients, he started. you picked up your head, your heart skipping not just one, but maybe a couple beats. this was the obi-wan kenobi, and he was talking to you.
“i am,” you kept your composure, not wanting to go on and on about something a jedi general probably didn’t care too much about.
“well, tell me what you’ve learned,” he made himself comfortable, as if he was preparing himself to be there a while. you smirked, hiding the excitement that exploded all over your body; no one’s ever cared to know what you’ve learned. well, besides a couple people. no one like obi-wan.
so, you went on. you talked about the language, how translating is harder than it looks because of the differences in word placement. you talked about the culture, how their culture shaped the way they interacted with the force. you talked about the force itself, how the native people interacted with it and gave it the upmost respect.
“these people, the zeffo, they knew more about the force than we as jedi know. they knew how to wield it be more than a weapon. they knew secrets about the force that i’m still trying to figure out,” you chuckled, your hands slightly shaking from the mount of information you just dumped on obi-wan.
“secrets?”
“yes. secrets. i know they had grand temples dedicated to training force users. they were so deeply connected to the force and i have yet to find out how,”
“you said the zeffo had a deep connection with the force, beyond what we have. that might be it. they opened themselves up to it completely,” what you spoke about truly was interesting, but it was the way you spoke about it. you were enthusiastic, elated to shared what you’d learned with someone who’d listen. listening to you speak, in a way, helped heal a part of him that he didn’t know needed attention.
you noticed the down trodden look on his face and frowned.
“too much?”
“sorry? no! no not at all. i’ve realized that i know a lot less about the force than i once believed.” it wasn’t a complete lie, but he didn’t know how you felt about him confessing about your words healing him.
“it is interesting! i believe we could learn a lot from them, maybe even so much so to have the advantage in the war,” you tried to maintain that connection him, but he only shook his head.
“their culture was peaceful and they used the force for peace, let’s keep it that way,” oh how the butterflies erupted in the pit of your stomach at his words. you could not believe that he’d say something like that, but it comforted you. in that moment, you found yourself falling in love with the man in front of you.
“thank you, for saying that. i thought by connecting with you being a general-”
“just because i’m a general doesn’t mean i can’t respect peaceful cultures, or the people that decipher them,” he felt more confident now, his words were more fluid and less awkward.
you smiled and nodded your head, organizing the datapad and artifacts into two separate piles.
“why’d you listen to all that?” you asked suddenly, your eyes flicking up from the stacks to his beautiful, blue eyes. you watched as obi-wan formulated a response in his head.
“because one, the findings are incredibly interesting, and two, i liked listening to you talk about it,” now there was the flirty obi-wan everyone knew, yet he still found himself nervous for your reaction.
you didn’t know how to react. your cheeks turned a rosy red color, but you kept your face still. you smiled, slowly nodding your head.
“thank you, i enjoyed having you to listen,” you admitted softly. obi-wan sat forwards a little and laid his hand on top of yours. a random and sporadic gesture, but a most welcome one.
“i hope to see you again,” he hummed. his eyes were filled with an emotion you couldn’t exactly pin point, but it wasn’t anything negative.
“i’ll be here in the archives,” you hummed in response. he lifted your hand to his lips and looked at you, watching your face light up. he stood, wished you a good day and left. you were left dumbfounded, but you were a fool to believe he’d show up the next day.
but, sure enough, he did.
love me some obi-wan. i really do. idk when the next time i post will be. i move up to school next tuesday and i’m packing all weekend. here’s something to read while i’m settling in and maybe i’ll write something before classes start. we’ll see. stay safe and healthy my loves!

A New Sith?
Okay so this is something I have been working on...Don't hate me for the ending because I want people to guess what will happen or make up what will happen.
Warnings: dark thoughts maybe?
Rating: T+
Words: 1.7k
Pairing: No official Pairing
A/N: Goes kind of with the script of the Kenobi show, but is more so meant for the purpose of an AU.
There had been many things that she had not realized were true until this very moment. She had heard the whispers and the rumors and the supposed testimonies, but as of this moment, everything she heard was becoming truth in front of her. She had hidden herself over the last ten years…constantly on the run and never stopping long enough for the wrong people to ask questions about her. She needed to make sure that they never found her out of fear of the swift torture and death that would come. However, as she stood in the crowds of Jabiim, her dark purple eyes were wide in shock and fear and realization as to who stood in front of her. She had not seen this man in ten years, yet the Force somehow reunited them with the foreboding feeling she was now having deep within her gut. She had had the same feeling before the Battle of Geonosis, Christophsis, and multiple other planets. Memories began haunting her vision as she thought of her clones. The brothers in arms she had commanded for years before they betrayed the loyalty and trust that had been built between all of them. The heartbreak she felt when she realized the man she deeply cared for - more so than the Code allowed - was now dead. The fear that ran through her veins as she heard the horror stories of Jedi being meticulously hunted down and murdered at the behest of the Emperor and his apprentice, Darth Vader.
Her bag suddenly felt heavier than normal as blue eyes finally looked in her direction and filled with shock, disbelief, and relief at the sight of her. The weight of her two hilts in the bottom of her bag feeling like solid Beskar as she took a slight step back. She was barely able to move from her spot as the man she was staring at slowly began moving towards her through the crowd of refugees waiting to leave Jabiim. Her purple eyes leave his blue ones and fall on the young girl that was staring after the man she once knew. Her heart stopped, and her throat closed seeing that little girl. However, she did not see a little girl. Instead, she saw a brunette who was full of grace and demanded respect from those around her whenever she entered a room…and was one of the most influential leaders of the Republic before it fell. Her vision began blurring as she took another step back. Not only was he here, but the child had managed to survive? She had gone to the funeral and seen the body…the body that showed it was still very pregnant at the time of death. Had that been a lie? Had it been a decoy? Was anything she had heard over the years true? Why was this happening now? After ten long years, why? Why did the Force have to make her path cross with theirs? Why couldn’t she be left alone to wallow in her guilt and despair?
She felt a small push of the Force from the man walking towards her. No. Why was he trying to force the connection they had unintentionally made and bonded with not only each other, but the man he killed on Mustafar all those years ago? Why couldn’t he just leave her be and go about his business without bothering her? Why was he even here?! The woman blinked rapidly to force her tears not to fall as she took three more steps away from the man coming towards her. A strangled gasp suddenly escaped her throat as she felt a second presence. This presence was much darker and held more rage than she had ever felt in her life. The only way that there was a second presence was if what they were feeling was the one whom the man in front of her had said died on Mustafar so many years prior. The exiled Jedi shook her head rapidly, closing her eyes for a long moment before opening them again as she felt hands on her arms. Her eyes met the blue ones that were now directly in front of her and filled with concern. “No,” she breathed softly trying to pull away from him and cut the connection to the Force that she had formed again after so long. “Let me go,” she demanded lightly.
“Ruvilla, listen to me. Please,” he said, trying to calm her down. He could feel her anxiety and panic. “Ruvilla.” He could feel the second presence that she could. He could feel the darkness and the rage from the third person that was a part of their bond.
“No!” she exclaimed lightly, finally pushing him away from her. Her dark purple eyes blazed as she stared into the blue ones of her former friend. Yes…she no longer saw the man in front of her as her friend. He had lied to her. He had kept secrets from her all these years. She ignored the looks that others started sending their way. She ignored the curious look from the little girl who was the daughter of the man she loved. “You should have stayed in your dark corner, Obi-Wan,” she hissed lowly. Ruvilla turned away from the former Jedi and stalked away into the catacombs. She could still feel the dark presence lingering in her mind. How had he survived Mustafar? What had caused him to become so twisted? How had he fallen so far and deep into the Dark Side? Why were all these feelings rushing back to her now? Why was the Force doing this to her?
-Above Jabiim-
Darth Vader stood staring out of the Star Destroyer that was in orbit around the planet of Jabiim where his old master was currently hiding. He stopped breathing for a long moment as he felt a sudden connection…one that he had not felt in ten years. He knew his former master was down there, but if what he was feeling was correct, then she was very much alive. He could feel Reva behind him and officers staring at him as he had not taken a breath of any kind in a long moment. He released the deep breath he did not realize that he was holding. He did not remember just how he felt until the Force around him shifted and reopened the bond forcefully. He knew he had given orders, but now he did not know whether he would stop those orders or continue with the plan to get his former master. He stood straighter as his breathing became regular again. “Lock down the facility,” he ordered. He would find her at a later time because he could feel her now. He frowned as he heard Reva speak up.
“If we seal them in now, they could hold for days,” Reva told Vader with a slight frown. She had felt something shift but could not tell what had shifted. She didn’t understand what had shifted, but she suddenly felt a second presence down on Jabiim…one that was extremely powerful in the Force. “If we cannot break them…” she trailed off slightly.
Vader narrowed his eyes underneath his mask as his rage increased. “It is not them that we need to break,” he snapped at the temporary Grand Inquisitor. His need for his old master was greater than what was stirring inside of him for her. He watched the planet for a moment longer before pointing out at it. “Fire!” he ordered. He was silent for a long moment as the star destroyer began firing at Jabiim before turning his head to Reva. “If she makes an appearance…I want her alive. She is not to be harmed at all,” he said cryptically. He was not going to alert the Emperor of her presence just yet as he wanted to try and make her understand his side of things. He would have her in this life as he couldn’t have her in his last.
-On Jabiim-
Ruvilla sat in the corner with her eyes closed as she tried to push the feelings from the Force out of her mind. Seeing Obi-Wan again after all this time was like a punch in the gut. Feeling the rage and anger and hate from the man she now realized she still loved was a stab in the heart. She felt so conflicted about everything. The teachings of her master and the Jedi Order…the things she had heard from Dooku when he had captured her during the Clone Wars. What Maul told her when they had somehow ended up stranded on a deserted planet together when her fighter crash landed. Her deep purple eyes opened as she stared at the bag that was on the floor in between her legs. What she didn’t notice was the faint flecks of yellow seeping into her dark purple irises. She reached down as she blocked out the worried whispers and exclamations of the scared refugees as a star destroyer shot down at where they were hiding. She didn’t hear Obi-Wan as he spoke to everyone but instead focused on going through her bag to grab the two hilts that she had created at the age of 12. She stood from her spot in the corner, and her eyes met Obi-Wan’s as she clipped her sabers to her belt before removing the large poncho she wore showing the black clothing she wore that was very reminiscent of what Anakin wore towards the end of the Clone Wars. Ruvilla pulled out a long ribbon and put her long hair up into a half bun style as the refugees began moving around to try and have some kind of defense against the storm troopers that they all knew were coming. The former Jedi slowly walked over to Obi-Wan and gazed at him for a long moment before she whispered, “You should get everyone out while you can. You know full well I can take the troopers they send. You also know that he will want me alive while he wants you dead.”
Obi-Wan frowned, gazing at Ruvilla. He knew full well that she could easily take on the stormtroopers. He also knew - based on what they both felt in the bond - that he would want her alive. “Ruvilla…” he trailed off looking into her purple eyes. A deeper frown crossed his lips as he realized he could see golden flecks in the irises of her eyes. What was he about to agree to?

Prompt - ‘Do something, babe, say something. Lose something, babe, risk something. Choose something babe, I got nothing to believe, unless you're choosing me.’
Notes - I know I posted a House version of this yesterday but this song has such a hold on me so here's Obi-Wan's version.
Tumblr media
You had known Obi-Wan your whole life, had trained by his side since you were children and formed a friendship that had the older Jedi raising their eyebrows and whispering about attachments. You had been inseparable since you’d met, drawn to one another like it was the will of the Force and never once drifted apart from each other in all your years together.
It wasn’t until you were a few years older, well into your Padawan training, that you both began to see your friendship had transitioned into something more, something that had you feeling lighter than ever, something that had your chest feeling warm and your cheeks heating up.
You were in love with Obi-Wan, Obi-Wan who was always there when you needed him, Obi-Wan who was always ready to pull you into his arms and talk about everything and nothing for hours, Obi-Wan who never hesitated to stand up for you when you let people put you down. You were in love with the man who stood for everything good, who was so kind and patient, who never gave you anything but fond and happy memories.
You loved him and you didn’t know what to do. What was there to do when you dedicated your whole life to an Order that forbade attachments? You couldn’t fathom how the Order could think something as beautiful as the feelings you felt for Obi-Wan could possibly lead you down a Dark path.
Obi-Wan had known he was in love with you for a long time, from the moment his gaze started to linger on you for a little longer when you looked away, from the moment he realised he longed for your company when you were pulled apart by separate missions, from the moment he realised all he wanted to do when you smiled at him was to pull you in and taste your lips.
He hadn’t been able to stop himself from doing just that when he was finally able to steal a moment alone with you when you returned from a mission two weeks later than intended after peace talks had turned violent and you and your Master had gotten caught in the midst of it.
You hadn’t had more than a moment to register what was happening before you felt Obi-Wan’s lips on yours the second you walked into the room, freezing for a moment before sinking into the kiss, relaxing for the first time in weeks as your hands gripped Obi-Wan’s robes, both of you needing to assure yourselves you were safe.
From there everything evolved until you were sneaking around the Temple, keeping your relationship a secret, knowing you were breaking the rules and not caring if it meant you got to call Obi-Wan yours. It didn’t matter that you couldn’t tell anybody, it didn't matter that your relationship was built on stolen moments and secret meetings, you knew one day things would be different, you didn’t care about anything else.
The secret lasted well into knighthood and when Obi-Wan became a Master, having to train the young Skywalker boy it put a strain on your relationship. Suddenly it wasn’t just you and Obi-Wan sneaking around together, ignoring the whispers and the knowing glances from Qui-Gon as he left the quarters more and more frequently giving you and Obi-Wan plenty of time together. Suddenly in the space of one mission there was a Padawan and no time for stealing time together, now it was all about longing glances as the other was thrown more and more into their duties.
Eventually though it became easier to deal with, you and Obi-Wan were assigned missions together with Anakin coming along but as the years went on you made it work. You were sure the Padawan knew there was something going on between you and Obi-Wan, the cheeky grins and badly concealed winks he sent Obi-Wan’s way as he came up with excuses to leave the room for a while gave as much away,
You weren’t complaining, you loved any time you got to spend with Obi-Wan, you wished for more days that were spent laying side by side whether it be in a bed or a field littered with flowers but you knew that this was all he could offer you and all you could offer him right now.
So it went on like that, years passing by in secret as you loved each other quietly. You wanted it to be enough but there was a small part of you that was more and more persistent as the years passed, hopeful for something more.
You knew you’d leave the Order for the man, all he had to do was ask. You wanted him to ask more than anything, wanted him to steal you away in the middle of the night and put as much distance as possible between you and the rules of the Jedi Order. You wanted to build a life with him, one that didn’t need to be clouded by secrets and lies, one where you could kiss him whenever you wanted without always looking over your shoulder.
You wanted him to ask you.
He never did though and when the war started you pushed all those thoughts away. It wasn’t the time to leave, that’s what you told yourself anyway as you threw yourself into the war efforts, aching as you and Obi-Wan were separated yet again, only reunited when the Council ordered it.
There were a few times you got to spend longer together, days that were spent on Coruscant, still surrounded by the war but easier to ignore as you made your way to Obi-Wan’s quarters after a long day of consulting with the Council.
“I’d say that was a rather successful meeting, wouldn’t you? If what we have planned works we’ll have Akippee in no time.” Obi-Wan grinned at you as he moved around the quarters, seemingly unable to try and leave the war outside of these walls, to savour the little bit of time you were able to have together.
You just hummed at him and let your fingers trail along the back of the sofa as you looked around the room, the room that had once brought you peace, had felt more like home than any place had before, the soft orange hues lighting the room but now it felt different, it felt empty.
Obi-Wan continued to talk, hardly noticing the fact it was a one sided conversation as your mind went into overdrive. You weren’t sure how he couldn’t see something was wrong, how could he glance over at you and smile, how could he chuckle and speak and not notice you were miles away questioning everything?
Eventually Obi-Wan led you into the bedroom, stating that you must both be exhausted from such a long day and it wasn’t long until the lights went out. Obi-Wan fell asleep easily, not pulling you close to his chest like he would have years back and you ignored the way another bit of your heart withered at the loss.
The sound of Obi-Wan breathing evenly and shuffling every so often used to comfort you, it used to lull you into a peaceful sleep and leave you well rested. Now it set your nerves on edge, it made you feel like you were alone even though you could reach out and touch him, though the space between you felt infinitely bigger than it was.
As he slept you stayed awake, sat up staring into the darkness of the room, letting your thoughts run wild, letting yourself wonder what was happening, letting yourself wonder if it was time to face the reality of what had become of you and him.
You loved Obi-Wan, the man was all you had ever known and you didn’t want to know anything else. You loved him more dearly than anything in the whole galaxy and yet here you were with him, feeling lonelier than you had ever felt in your life.
All you wanted was a life with Obi-Wan, you wanted a proper, real life with Obi-Wan. One far away from the rules and regulations of the Jedi, one where attachments weren’t something to be feared, one where you could kiss him freely and without judgement, you wanted to give him every part of your life, you wanted to be his wife, you wanted to give him a family.
You wanted to give him everything.
You had tried to deny it for so long, tried to convince yourself you didn’t actually need that. You didn’t need to be Obi-Wan’s bride, you didn’t need to start a family with him and live your life openly to prove you loved him.
But it was never about proving anything, it was just something you wanted so badly and Obi-Wan had never given any indication he wanted anything more than you had. He seemed so content with what you had, never going forward, just staying where you were.
There were too many problems with your relationship, sure the war could be blame for leaving you without seeing each other for months on end but you truly believed if the war hadn’t happened this would still have been the outcome, maybe it would have bought you a few more months maybe even years but it was always going to end up here.
There were too many problems and Obi-Wan didn’t see them, either he refused to see them or he was really so blinded to them. When you finally reunited it was like there was no time apart for him, like everything was still the same. Your heart was breaking and he was fine where you were.
It was falling apart, you could see it breaking down before your eyes and yet Obi-Wan couldn’t. You wanted to scream at him, beg and plead for him to do something, to show it meant something to him, to show you meant something to him. You wanted him to take a risk, to leave the Order with you, to show that he would choose you. But he never did.
That night you slept fitfully, feeling even more drained than you had been the night before, only able to glare at Obi-Wan in the morning with a storm of emotions in your eyes as he went about getting ready for the day whilst keeping up a steady stream of conversation. He looked at you with a smile on his face and you wanted to scream some more, wanted to shake him and beg him to look at you, to see that you were dying, to see that he was losing you.
All you wanted was for him to see you, to see the mess that was your relationship and fight to save it, to do something to show he loved you. You wanted to believe your relationship could survive but your heartbeat felt like it was fading with every day that passed, it felt like you were going to die before Obi-Wan realised something was wrong.
“I can’t do this anymore.” You interrupted him, looking as shocked as he did at the outburst, not fully registering the words leaving your mouth or the decision to save yourself before your heart really did stop.
“Is everything ok?” Obi-Wan asked, his eyebrows knitting together as he put down his caf and turned to you, seemingly giving you all his attention but still not seeing you, not seeing how worn down you were.
“No.” You finally forced yourself to say after a few moments of silence passed where you could only stare at him, debating if you wanted to do this. “Obi-Wan, this isn’t working, we’re not working.”
“I don’t understand.” Obi-Wan told you softly, his hand coming up to scratch at his beard as he tried to figure out what was happening and why you were suddenly so unhappy with your relationship.
“I know you don’t.” You told him, voice shaky as you fought back tears. “I know you don’t, Obi-Wan and that’s the problem. You don’t understand despite all the signals I’ve given, you don’t understand even though it’s so clear to see.”
“What’s clear to see?” He asked you and the genuine confusion coming from him hurt your heart even more.
“Would you leave the Order for me?” You asked, never wanting to ask the question, not when you knew what the answer would be but it was the only thing you could think to ask to get him to understand something about how far your relationship had fallen.
Obi-Wan was silent for a moment too long, a moment that he actually seemed to recognise lasted for too long if the regretful look on his face meant anything. You let out a chuckle that sounded more like a sob and nodded, you’d already known the answer, if he was going to say yes he would have already left.
“I never wanted to lose you but you, you won’t do something, you won’t risk something to fight for us. You won’t even choose me, Obi-Wan. I can’t do this anymore, I’m tired, I’m so tired of being lonely.” You cried, a few tears slipping down your cheeks as you slid your robe on.
“Where are you going?” He asked quietly and you nearly sobbed, even now, even when you were walking out of the door he wouldn’t fight for you.
“To talk to Master Yoda, I can’t stay Obi-Wan, I can’t.” You told him and opened the door, waiting a moment for him to say something, to do something but he didn’t. He stayed silent and let you walk out of his quarters.
You barely held yourself together, hearing the door shut behind you and forced your feet to move until you got to an empty room. Only then did you let yourself fall apart, sobs wracking your body as you finally let everything out, everything you had been ignoring for years.
All you had wanted was for him to give you something, you had only ever wanted him to choose you the way you would always chose him but instead he hadn’t even fought to stop you from leaving, letting you go like you hadn’t given him your best years, hadn’t given him everything you had only to be left alone feeling like you heart wouldn’t start anymore.

Okay bestie how about Christmas HCs where Obi-Wan is spending Christmas with you and your strange family ❤️
HI YES OKAY
also i'm so sorry if my writing seems off, i'm lwk rusty from not having written anything in a FAT minute. anyway enjoy some festive obi-wan!!
Tumblr media
you and obi-wan were born on complete opposite ends of the galaxy, on different planets
this meant different cultures, different traditions, different ways of life
obi-wan doesn't remember much of his childhood—he can barely recall who his family was and only has a few fading memories of them—while you remember your loved ones in great detail
so when he hears you talk about your family and sees how your face lights up when you do, it's very bittersweet for him
now, life day (i believe this is christmas in star wars terms lol) is quickly approaching but you had been too busy throwing yourself into teaching an introductory sparring class for the younglings, along with your personal training, to realize it
if it were up to master windu's doing you wouldn't be getting as long of a break
but it's master yoda in charge here, and he grants you a long weekend to rest—which you and obi are incredibly grateful for as you've gotten a combined 6 hours of sleep in the past 3 days
(pathetic, you know...especially when it's drilled into your heads from day 1 of being in the temple that rest is the key to a happy, fulfilling life)
your family stories are always filled with lots of laughter, vibrant colors, and more love and compassion than he could even describe
so when you invite him to come to your home planet with you he's obviously excited
though outwardly he expresses how he feels a bit nervous
they've all heard about your best friend and wise master, but have never spoken to him in person
"it'll be fine, trust me! i have a big family but i promise you they're the nicest people you'll ever meet."
so he agrees, and you fly out that following morning
you can tell he's nervous as you get to the front door
so you intertwine your fingers together, giving his hand a squeeze
it's your silent way of telling him it's going to be just fine :)
and your family instantly LOVES him
of course, you're first bombarded with the classic "are you two married?" "when's the wedding?" "y/n, this is the first time you've brought a man back home!" "he's so handsome!" and whatnot
meanwhile, obi stands there with flushed cheeks...
the older women of the family—your mother, godmother, grandmothers, aunts, etc—instantly love him since he offers to help you out in the kitchen
in the meantime, you sit in the living room with your siblings, cousins, and the rest of the men
"where is the ring on your finger, y/n?" your favorite uncle asks you. he has this GIANT grin on his face and he's wearing THAT "ugly sweater" with a pink loth cat on it
ever since you got it for him, he's made it a yearly tradition to put it on at every holiday gathering
so it's hard to not laugh at first when you're trying to respond
"uncle ted, you know jedi can't get married!"
"who said you had to follow the rules?" he raises a brow at you and you laugh again
"y/n," your dad adds on, "he's right. you should be getting married soon..."
"but the jedi code!"
"it's not a crime if they don't find out, right?" your oldest cousin, cal, says
...and all the men murmur a "yep" or "touche" at that
obi wan catches part of this conversation and comes over, "who's marrying who?"
"she's marrying you!" your younger sister, layla, exclaims with a giggle
and now it's time for both you and obi to get extremely flustered
"SORRY," you quietly tell obi in your mind. "my family can get a bit...chaotic."
"it's okay, don't worry about it," and he smiles at you
while you're eating dinner, you catch him looking around the room—at your family, the eccentric decorations on the fridge and walls (courtesy of layla, cassie, and cal), the most stunning tree standing tall in the corner, the golden stockings with hand-stitched names of each cousin hung above the crackling fireplace—and your heart swells with warmth
in all his years of living so far, obi-wan has never felt so much at home as he has now, with you by his side
even amidst the chaos of the day, he tells himself he wouldn't want to be anywhere else, & he means it
later, you're making gingerbread houses together (apparently obi has never heard of this tradition before, so you take it upon yourself to teach him all about it)
but despite knowing little about it, he ends up making the best house out of everyone
you come in close at 3rd place, though you're sure your house is only one breath from falling apart
there's frosting all over your hands
and on your chin, apparently, but obi wipes it away with a quick sweep of his thumb
the longing look in both your guys' eyes doesn't go unnoticed by the rest of your family
long after everyone has gone to bed for the night, you stay by the fireplace together with glasses of warm milk on the coffee table in front of you
"you're really lucky, you know," he tells you. "to have a family you can remember and spend time with when you can."
"i really am..." you agree, "but obi-wan, you're always welcome to come over. my family loves you. i know it's only been a day but they already want you to be a part of the family."
(neither of you realize that he's taken ahold of your hand and started to gently brush over your ring finger)
and just around 4 short months later, you wake up one morning to find a sapphire ring on that exact finger
"just so you know, i'm saying yes," you squeeze his shoulder before going off to continue with the rest of your day
(how the council doesn't suspect anything, you have no idea. but you're grateful for it lmao)

I’ve recently been thinking about Anakin accidentally putting all his weight on you while you are fucking and you find out how much you love it…
-—————————⋆。‧˚ʚɞ˚‧。⋆—————————-
Anakin was holding himself overtop of you ramming into you at an unforgiving pace. You were on your stomach with a few pillows under your hipbones to keep your ass propped up for Anakin. Your face was buried into the comforter blocking all the lewd noise escaping from your mouth.
You were so close to your orgasm and you could tell Anakin was too by the way his thrusts got sloppier by the second. With one last snap of his hips, you both unraveled. Anakin’s arms immediately buckled and all his weight came crashing down, pinning you completely flat on the mattress. You let out an unintentional choked groan. That just did something to you. He quickly lifted himself off of you, holding himself up again.
“I’m so sorry darling. I’m sorry if I hurt you.” He said quickly still out of breath from his climax.
“No.” You pant. “I like it.”
You reached your arm around and pulled him down as best you could in the awkward position you were in and his delicious weight crushed down on you again. His scent immediately ingulfed you. You couldn’t help but let out a moan this time.
You could feel Anakin’s smirk on the back of your neck.
“Oh…. I see what you mean, Love.”
Lets just say Anakin abuses this knowledge just about every time you guys have sex after he figured it out, and he is so fucking cocky about it.

a/n: i hope this reaches the right audience lol. please tell me you guys understand this, because it has been on my mind for a while. send in your anakin thoughts (nsfw or sfw) and i’ll write a little drabble! much love! <3
