|| love rival || Akatsuki x reader
They're now realizing what a mistake it was to introduce you to the group, now they have competition with their own teammate.

Pain
He knows that Konan is harmless and she's not the sort of disrespectful person to go sniffing about where she doesn't belong, especially where he and his partner are concerned. Pain, however, cannot tolerate the lingering touches Konan gives you as she passes by. Her hand brushing yours, guiding you with an arm around your shoulders, and blushing at you. He feels a warning is warranted.
"You are my dear friend, Konan, I have known you many years, but this simply won't do. You are better than how you are acting. Be respectful and leave them alone, and I won't need to inflict pain upon you."
Konan
Oh, well isn't this troublesome. Konan isn't the type to make idle threats, but Pain is her commander and leader. That would not be a wise decision on her part, but she does trust her long-time friend to be somewhat respectful and not place you in any situation where you would be uncomfortable. She's not above putting her foot down if she really must.
"Sir, with all due respect, my partner isn't interested and we would both appreciate you to mind your manners."
Obito
You are his everything. He would destroy the entire world for you. Level mountains, tame seas, there isn't anything he wouldn't do as long as it's within his power. He's pretty surprised that Zetsu even took a liking to you, as he's not one that's expressed interest in most anything other than his eating habits.
"Surely Zetsu is mistaken. My partner isn't a corpse for you to munch on you, nor are they yours for the taking. Keep your distance and I won't have to bloody you up too much."
Zetsu
As with anything, both sides of him are at a near constant quarrel with each other. His light side trying to reassure his darker side that Tobi is harmless and doesn't mean anything malicious by taking interest in you.
"Tobi is a good boy, he means no harm." "His harm is his unwarranted interest in our beloved partner. Fool! You have no sense, do you?"
Hidan
Honestly he could laugh so hard he may undo the stitches in his neck. That old fucker wants his partner?? Is he actually serious?
"Haha! That's fucking rich! You've gotta be at least one-hundred by now, huh? Fuck off, geezer! They're not yours!"
Kakuzu
Clearly decapitating Hidan over and over doesn't make him talk any less. Neither does stabbing him-- but it sure does take the edge off. Kakuzu would rather not deal with the younger man's insufferable stubbornness. You are his lover, his alone, and Hidan had no chance in whatever the fuck kind of afterlife his mighty lord Jashin provides. None. Fuck off, Hidan.
"As if they'd want someone as lowly as you. You don't even pay for your own shit. Remember your place or I won't hesitate to remove you from this world permanently. One swipe and your head will be freed from your miserable shoulders. I'm sure all sorts of insects would love to burrow inside of that hollow space."
Itachi
For a moment he's reminded of Sasuke's little schoolboy crush on you, except Kisame isn't Sasuke. He is a grown adult capable of getting in the way of Itachi's livelihood. Threatening the sanctity of his relationship. He's unlikely to do much other than step in if he crosses any boundaries or makes you uncomfortable. So until something is said, it's just this weird, heavy atmosphere. Kisame starts to speak but Itachi cuts him off immediately.
"Keep their name out of your mouth, Kisame. I won't warn you again."
Kisame
Oftentimes he wonders how lonely Itachi is. He annihilated his entire clan save for his younger brother in a single night. He took away everything he loved and for what? He can appreciate Itachi's past but Kisame doesn't take too kindly to the eldest Uchiha brother being a bit too welcoming and protective of his partner.
"Itachi, a word of advice. Don't shit where you eat. And keep your nose out of other's relationships. You're a good, respectable man and I appreciate your concern in my partner's well-being. Let me handle it from here."
Sasori
There's still the age-old artistic view difference between the two: eternal art vs shortlived art. One could argue both have their merits, but even after all these years it was a sore subject between the blonde and redhead duo. And now you were thrown into the mix.
"If you truly think you're so superior to me, Deidara, then perhaps you'd be more open to what a waste your art truly is. My partner prefers eternal, long-lasting, but there's nothing long nor lasting about, is there?"
Deidara
This was great. Jusssst great. Sasori had been hanging around his area of the hideout more and for what, Deidara wasn't sure. Until he recalled that you had been given special permission to visit from Pain himself. You'd forsaken your village long ago and clearly had no interest in reporting them, so it was allowed. Sasori had begun skulking about ever since and the blonde could guess why he might be drawn to you.
"If you even think about turning my partner into a fuckin' puppet, I won't hesitate to kill you, Sasori. No matter which way I go about it, you'll end up in splinters. So, I repeat. Stay the fuck away from them, hmm."

Yandere Akatsuki Headcanons (Platonic)
❝ — 🍥 lady l: something I thought about for a while and decided to do it now. I hope you like it and forgive me for any mistakes! ❤️🖤
❝tw: obsessive and possessive behavior, murder, mention of death, yandere themes, stalking and jealousy.
❝🍥pairing: platonic yandere!akatsuki x gender neutral!reader.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Becoming part of Akatsuki was an important decision and one you knew shouldn't be made lightly. They were wanted and dangerous criminals. Once you decided to join, there would be no going back.
You were not innocent, you had already killed and committed some minor crimes and you were a well-trained ninja. That's why you decided to join Akatsuki. You just didn't know that your life would turn out completely different than you initially thought it would.
Pain was a little wary of allowing you to join Akatsuki, as not only did you not have a little-known reputation but there was something about you that unnerved him. That attracts him. But he decided to agree, after talking to Konan.
That's how you joined the world's most wanted ninja, Akatsuki and became their obsession.
Pain is the leader of Akatsuki and has a god complex. He is serious and distant, rarely approaching other members except to give him missions or orders. However, when he is Nagato he is totally different. Kind and shy. You and Konan are the only people who really know him as Nagato.
Regardless of your identity, he is very protective of you. He sees you as something good, as one of the few remnants of goodness, even if you are a criminal, you are still better than everyone. Besides being quite possessive of you. He wants to become a God and he will, but he sees no point in becoming one if you are not by his side.
Konan possessed a calmness, an admirable and frightening control. She has enviable self-control and this is visible in the way she deals with you. She is very calm around you, offering a kind smile and seeking any form of affection she can get from you.
She is desperate for affection, but she will never admit it. Konan is very intelligent and knows how to manipulate you. Stoic and cold-blooded, she will kill anyone who gets in her way, in your life other than herself and the other members. She takes whatever time she can have by your side.
Tobi has lost a lot during his life and these losses have shaped him into who he is today. He never expected to get attached to someone again, to love someone else after being deprived of someone he loved. This made him paranoid and very overprotective of you. Obito already lost someone he loved once, he won't lose you too.
He is introverted, however, and tries to avoid social interactions with the other Akatsuki members as much as possible, but with you, he is more sociable. Tobi is very possessive and always has one eye on you, especially when you are around the other members.
Itachi is calm and reserved, his feelings for you, the obsession he harbors, are very well hidden behind his mask. Not even the other members know Itachi very well, as he is enigmatic and mysterious. He deals with you the same way he does with everyone else, calmly and without showing much of how he feels. This makes you more distant.
However, he is not a really bad person. He did bad things, things he will regret. He sees a second chance in you, he trusts his intuition and you a lot. Itachi has a strong sense of empathy towards you and he is the one who notices the most if you are uncomfortable or upset about something, usually offering you comfort. He is possessive, however, because he has already lost a lot and wants your attention to him.
Kisame is a tailless tailed beast, a shark in humanoid form and he has strong predator instincts. He is very aggressive and can often be dominated by his bloodlust and desire for death, but he knows how to control himself when he wants to or when ordered to do so. You are one of the few people who can convince him to have mercy.
He's very perceptive, though. Kisame is always on alert and is aware of any danger and his first reaction is to take you away from danger. He is very protective and is also great at analyzing people and will know when you are bad.
Kakuzu only cares about money and himself, an avaricious and greedy man. He used to be like that until you joined Akatsuki and he started to care about you, but like a possession. Something that belonged to him, something to be controlled.
He often says that you can only trust him and money, the only two things you can rely on. Kakuzu is very attached to you and cares in his own way. He has a violent temper and becomes obsessed easily and you are his biggest obsession. He gets jealous very easily and reacts harshly to it.
Zetsu is a duality and only a manipulation, a difficult one to read and understand. White Zetsu is the easiest to deal with, he is playful and carefree, and he loves to tease others. He is very calm and loves to have fun with you, but he is very protective of you and although he doesn't usually use violence, he will.
Black Zetsu is the real problem. He is very intelligent and is the real brain behind many plans, serious and experienced. He is a great manipulator, appearing trustworthy and loyal, but his true loyalty is unknown to you. He is very possessive and a born stalker and will kill anyone who gets too close to you. He gets into several conflicts with White Zetsu because of this.
Deidara is extremely proud and fully believes that the greatest art form is destruction. He does not accept defeat and will always seek revenge. He is very reckless and even impulsive, often acting without thinking and that includes you. But he is not stupid, but rather calculating.
He is easily jealous and no one can insult you around him, as he will go crazy and be willing to sacrifice even himself to destroy the offender. Deidara protects you fiercely and his possessiveness leads him to states of madness that only you or Sasori can control. His favorite activity is the art of explosion with you.
Sasori is devoid of any human emotion, has no feelings of affection and is even considered inhuman. He doesn't feel anything, he never cared about anyone or anything, until he met you. Cold and distant, Sasori just watches from afar, preferring to keep his attention on his puppets.
You made him feel something for the first time in years, someone he could finally have the love he always wanted as a child. Sasori, although distant, still stays close to you when it suits him. He became possessive, even threatening the other Akatsuki members over you. He doesn't care about anything or anyone except you. And he won't let you be taken from him. Even if he has to turn you into a puppet. You will stay together.
Hidan has no respect for anything or anyone, insulting everything and everyone that suits him. Not even his own leader is safe from his insults, considering he doesn't respect him at all. Although a religious ninja, Hidan acts in a manner completely contrary to a religious person. He kills everything and everyone without any remorse.
He is quite easygoing towards you, his insults are never directed at you and he will eviscerate anyone who dares to insult you. Hidan is a sadist, finding pleasure in causing pain and killing his victims in the most painful way possible. He definitely wants to teach you how to be like him.
Akatsuki became more united when you joined and although there will always be conflicts between them, you became the missing piece. Pain would never let you leave, not when you were true peace. You're stuck with them forever.

Requests are open! (Request rules)
A/N: This is one of my longest works I’ve ever made tee hee. I really hope you enjoy!! (Sorry it seems a little rushed :( )
Summary: Obito, after surviving the war was allowed back into the village. You made it your mission to make sure he gets completely rehabilitated. However, a certain someone gets jealous at the loss of attention.
Pairing: Obito x reader x kakashi
⋅───⊱༺ ♰ ༻⊰───⋅
It was a process. Everything that came after the war was a process. Great ninjas were lost, and some were found. Heartbreaks and heartwarmths were felt by all the people who were affected by this dreadful event. However, they sought to move forward, and push the formidable thoughts away. Because there was no time for regret, but only determination to bring back the villages—the families that were caught in the hellfire.
You had thankfully survived the war right along with some of your comrades. You had lost some to the Ten Tailed beast, but you knew the only way to honor their lives was to remember them for the outstanding ninjas they were. They had fought their final battle alongside you, and it was time for them to rest as the brave heroes they were. Your heart had been shattered by everything that had occurred—the deaths and the revelations. The revelation of the man who seemed like the spitting image of a boy you once knew. A kind, sweet boy that strived to become the Hokage. A boy with dreams so big, he’d do anything to achieve them. Obito Uchiha.
It shattered you to see who he had become, and why he had become this new person. It hurt how he didn’t think of himself as Obito Uchiha, but as someone else. He lived as someone else. It broke you a little, because you couldn’t wrap your head around this. How could this man—the boy you once admired when you were both at the academy—become so heartless. You couldn’t understand it. However, as if the universe was trying to put the pieces back in place, Obito had a change of heart. You thank Naruto for this—you didn’t know how the boy did it, but he always managed to get into people’s hearts. And just like Sasuke, Obito was welcomed—with very hesitant open arms, back into the leaf village.
Of course, this wasn’t an easy process. There were still people who didn’t trust him, and wanted nothing to do with him. It was a hard decision to make, but everyone deserves a second chance. So, the decision was made. He would be welcomed back to the village on the conditions of having someone watch him at all times—or as they called it—being under supervision. This was, to Obito, reasonable. He had been one of the main causes of the war, so the least he could do was accept this with a good heart. The difficult part was searching for someone who would actually agree to watch him. They needed a strong ninja. One that could put Obito in his place if he ever did anything remotely threatening. They thought Kakashi would’ve been the perfect candidate, but he was now the Hokage.
However, they never expected you to volunteer. You were a great ninja. Strong, smart, truthful. You were fit for the job, sure, but they were hesitant to just let you supervise him. But, after some convincing, you were allowed to take Obito under your wing, and trust me, it was a hard process. This man had been socially secluded. He was hated by most of the villagers, and he could see it. Anytime he walked down the roads of Konoha, the people would glare and snarl at him. He was a monster to them, and he knew that. He was difficult to crack open. I mean, did you really expect him to be just like he was when he was a kid? Of course not, you knew better than that.
You would always notice how his eyes landed on the ground, and he walked with his head low. You also knew he was slightly embarrassed of his scars. They were permanent proof of everything that had happened since the beginning. How could you get him used to society again? Had you volunteered to do this with blind eyes?
⋅───⊱༺ ♰ ༻⊰───⋅
“Are you hungry?” You asked as you searched around in the kitchen. You didn’t think the ‘have him under your supervision at all times’ rule was going to be this strict. I mean, he was living with you now. It’s been about two weeks since he’s been in your house, and he’s still tense. The unfamiliar atmosphere was just… not easy to get used to. At least for him. He wasn’t used to people, or kindness, or just… this.
“No,” he mumbled while he sat tensely on the dining chair. He looked like a black dot on a white sheet of paper. He didn’t quite fit in anywhere. You’ve tried to get him to speak more, but the most you get out of him a day is a few polite sentences. That’s it.
You frown, looking back at him as he looks out the window, “well you have to eat something. You can’t just go without eating for long hours,” you say as you lean on the counter, “how about we get some ramen, I bet you’d—,”
“I don’t want to go out,” he quickly cut you off, his head snapping towards you. Although the action might’ve seemed rude, his tone was soft, and… tired. He genuinely didn’t want to go out. Not that it surprises you. This isn’t the first time he’s refused to leave the house.
You sigh and rub your face, not out of frustration, but because you were thinking of a way to convince him, “I know that you don’t like going out—I understand, but you’ll make no progress being stuck in here with me,” you look at him to see a reaction, but his face still held that frown you hated to see. “I mean, sure, you can stay here if you want to, but you already know I’m not good at conversation. I’m pretty boring,” you chuckle, your attempts to lighten the mood were pretty bad.
You walk over to the dining table and sit across from him, crossing your legs and looking out the window, “you’ll have more fun outside than in here. Unless you want me to bore you with some of my life stories,”
His brow was raised with curiosity, his interest being peeked, “Maybe not,” he says and sits a little straight, his body turning to face you. You were surprised at this, just a little. He had never made an effort to keep the conversation going. He usually just stayed quiet or gave dry responses.
“Oh come on, you definitely don’t want to hear that,” you chuckle nervously, but his eye never left yours. “We don’t know that,”
“Okay then…,” you pause for a moment before continuing what you were going to say, “I’ll tell you about a few things, and if you're not bored out of your mind, we can stay here for the rest of the day. If you are, however, we’re taking a walk,” you say, although you knew that even if he was fed up with your blabbering, he’d still prefer that over going out. With a nod, he agreed to your offer and listened attentively.
⋅───⊱༺ ♰ ༻⊰───⋅
Hours had passed since the offer. It turns out, you weren’t really bored at all. At least, in his eyes. You two hadn’t spoken since his ‘death’ so he had missed out on a lot of things. It was interesting to hear all of the stories you had. You were… cool. He thought. Yeah, you weren’t half as bad as he thought you were, no offense. He caught himself wanting to know more, nodding and interrupting you sometimes to just ask about certain things. To you, this was a massive win! He seemed to be getting used to you, and he was warming up a little.
“So you teach?” He asks, amusement laced his voice, “what? Is that really absurd?” You raise a brow, crossing your arms slightly while he gently waved his hand over his face, “No, no, I just remember you as a bad teacher,”
“A bad—excuse me?” You gasp with fake offense, which made him crack a smile. Your heart almost stopped because this was the first time he smiled since he got here. “I’m just saying, remember that time I asked you to teach me about a specific Jutsu?” He asks and you nod your head, “well, I have great memories of you shaking your head in disappointment and telling me I was doing it all wrong,” he looks at you and almost cracks a chuckle,
“Okay, I was young alright? I didn’t have the patience I have now,” you chuckle and shake your head, “so, for your information, I’m a very good teacher,”
He made an expression that screamed ‘suuuure’, which made you laugh, “oh, come on, don’t look at me like that,”
He shrugs, “I’ll believe that when I hear it from your students,” he says, not expecting anything to come from it, but a lightbulb had just been lit in your mind, “Alright, then let’s go talk to them,”
His eye suddenly widens as you say this, “what?” He watches you as you stand up and grab your keys. “Lets go talk to them so you see what a good teacher I am,” you say with your hands on your hip.
“I— I didn’t really mean it like that. It was just a joke—,”
“Joke or not, you deserve to meet them. Come on, they’ll love you,”
⋅───⊱༺ ♰ ༻⊰───⋅
With a lot of convincing, you had gotten Obito to go outside. He was once again going into shut off mode. He didn’t speak and his eyes were glued to the ground. However, you wanted him to look forward to going out, so you tried your best to make him comfortable. “You see, they’re the best thing that ever happened to me,” you say to catch his attention. He slightly looks up from the ground, to look at you. You were a few feet ahead of him, guiding him though the village. “This one boy, he really reminds me of you,” you look back at him, only for him to look back at the ground. “How so?” He asks quietly.
“Well, he’s very stubborn. Always having a rivalry with his teammate and—,” you stop yourself and clear your throat, “he’s just like you in different ways,” she says and stops in front of Ichiraku. Two silhouettes sat inside. “Ah, here they are,” you say as you enter, looking back at Obito with a reassuring smile. He looks at you and hesitantly enters the shop, looking at the two boys who were sitting on the other side.
They look back at you and one of them grins, greeting you loudly while the other sits calm and politely says hello. The loud one had thick black hair, round dark eyes and a contagious smile, while the quiet one was quite the opposite. It made Obito… uncomfortable. No, not because he didn’t know them or anything, but the similarities between them and Obito and Kakashi were unsettling.
“I thought you weren’t showing up,” Toko, the loud one, whines, “I’m not surprised, she’s always late,” Kenji, the quiet one says. His nose was buried in his book while his friend rolled his eyes.
“Well I’m here, aren’t I?” You chuckle and stand aside, “I’m here with a guest,”
Kenji lowers his book in curiosity, his pale eyes falling onto Obito with a monotone expression. It reminded him so much of Kakashi. “A guest? Where?” Toko asked, before he looked at the obvious answer right in front of him. “Oh—Oh!” He exclaims, his eyes slightly wide. “You’re—youre,”
“Obito,” you say, “Obito, this is Toko and Kenji,” you introduce them, earning an awkward ‘hey’ from Obito, and the same with Kenji. However, Toko immediately stood up in his seat, “I have so many questions,” he says with bright eyes, “I never thought I’d see you in person so soon,”
Obito was taken slightly aback, he wasn’t expecting such a reaction, and to be honest, the boy kind of reminded him of himself. “Sit down Toko,” Kenji scoffs, but it was obvious the boy had some questions of his own.
“Now, now boys, I don’t think Obito feels comfortable answering questions just yet. He’s still getting used to things and—,”
“It’s okay,” he cuts you off before you continue. He sat down beside Toko, who seemed like he was shaking out of excitement. For the first time since Obito got here, he felt… visible. Like he wasn’t being judged by anyone. On the contrary, the boys looked at him not with disgust, but interest.
“Are you sure? You don’t have to,” you reassure, worried that he might be doing this because he felt forced to, “I’m sure,”
⋅───⊱༺ ♰ ༻⊰───⋅
The night went on smoothly. You were surprised at how much Obito talked—heck, he talked more with your students than with you! The conversation ranged from different types of Jutsus, to the sharingan, to the Uchihas. You had been worried all night that Toko might ask something too personal that would make Obito uncomfortable, but to your surprise, he seemed to be very at ease. Even Kenji had begun to ask some questions, to your surprise.
Of course, the night was coming to an end, and the boys needed to leave. They said their goodbyes and left, making you sit there with Obito. You were silent for a few minutes before you looked at him, “Are you okay?” You asked, concerned that one of the boys asked him something offensive.
“Yeah,” he says and looks at you, his eyes wandering your face and his lips moving as if to say something. You wait patiently for him to speak, tilting your head to the side, “what is it?”
His lips press against each other, turning them into a flat line before he finally speaks, “there’s two of them, aren’t there supposed to be three?” He asks, his eye staring deep into yours.
“Oh..,” you say and look down for a moment, “yeah, there’s supposed to be three,” you look at your nails, trying to find them interesting as the topic makes you a little saddened.
“Then what happened?” He asks curiously, not catching the glimpse of your smile fading slowly. Now it was your turn to bite your lips. You didn’t know how to bring this up because you never liked bringing it up. No one ever asked before either, because the whole village knew what happened.
“We uh… we lost her,” you say with grief, “on a mission,”
“Oh… I’m sorry,” he says and shook his head, “I shouldn’t have asked—,”
“You didn’t know. It’s okay,” you smile reassuringly and pay for the meals. “I’m okay. And so are the boys. They’re strong,” you stand up and look outside, “it’s getting dark, we should probably head back home,”
“…yeah,”
⋅───⊱༺ ♰ ༻⊰───⋅
“So, you haven’t made any progress?” The silver haired man you know as Kakashi asks from in front of you. Considering he had become Hokage almost immediately after the war, you two barely got to see each other. Obito was currently getting tested at the infirmary for… who knows what. Kakashi didn’t give details about it.
“No, that’s not what I said,” you furrow your brows, “he’s having a hard time getting around. He doesn’t like going outside because people treat him nasty—,”
“And rightfully so. (Y/N), you might not get it, but this is the man who almost wiped the earth clean,” he says in a serious tone, “I know you keep thinking he’s like he used to be—the Obito from the past, but he’s not,”
“He’s trying—,”
“He’s a criminal,” you were slightly taken aback by his tone. You had never heard Kakashi speak about someone so roughly, and you’ve known him for years. You had become good friends since he became a teacher—so it really did surprise you. “You can’t be treating him like some old friend. You must take this seriously,”
“Everyone deserves a chance. He was your friend. You know him better than anyone here,” you say as you sat uncomfortably, “Even Sasuke isn’t being shunned to this extreme,”
“Because Sasuke didn’t start a war,” he refutes, “Then what are you suggesting I do?” You ask as you cross your arms, “I don’t get why you're being so.. so,” you look at him and sigh, “I’m sorry, I’ve just been really out of it. You know I hate mistreatment,” you rub your temples.
“It’s okay,” he sighs, “I just want to make sure you're not doing this because you feel forced to—,”
“I would never. I volunteer to supervise him, and I intend to make this an easy process for every party,” you say confidently, “after all, Obito and I are getting along just fine. He’s even met my students. I’ve seen good progress in him, even if it takes a little time,” you smile, “it’s like I’m slowly bringing him back,”
Kakashi stares at you for a few seconds—it was impossible to read his expression or what he was thinking, but his brows were furrowed together. You might've thought he had an expression of distaste if it weren’t for his mask, “I see… then that’s all for today. I wanted to check up on your progress, but I see that you are doing fine by yourself,”
You frown slightly at his words. You would’ve felt praised if it weren’t for his tone of voice. It seemed a little cold. You didn’t understand why—maybe it was because he was still bitter about everything that happened in the war, just like everyone else, but he out of all people should understand Obito, or at least, try to. “Right, then I’ll get going,”
⋅───⊱༺ ♰ ༻⊰───⋅
It seemed the time that you used to spend with Kakashi was replaced by Obito. You two seemed to get closer to each other with each day, and you were glad. He woke up early in the morning now, telling you good morning, and asking what you would do today. If you had to go out, he’d go with you. If you stayed inside, he’d stay with you—Although you mostly thought it was because he literally had no choice but to do so.
You saw him smile more often, and the village seemed to be accepting him more and more. All of your hard work was starting to pay off. Your students seemed to love him, and so did Naruto. Obito loved to speak with your students as well. They reminded him so much of himself when he was younger. Your friendship grew so much, he even insisted on going to watch you train your students. You were glad—no, not glad. You were happy to hear this, immediately agreeing to his request.
Currently, you were sitting down on the grass while your two students sparred, Obito sitting right beside you. “You know, they remind me a lot of how things used to be,” he says while looking at the two boys, “you really weren’t kidding when you said Toko was my twin,” he chuckles, leaning back against a tree.
“I told you,” you smile at him gently before looking back at your students. “So, have you spoken to Kakashi yet?” you ask curiously, considering the last time you spoke to Kakashi about Obito he was a little… bitter about it. You understood why, but it didn’t mean you wanted that to happen.
“No, not since after… everything,” He says with a straight face, "I don't think he’d want to talk to me ever. Not that I care much anyways, I also carry resentment,” he says, not meeting your eyes as he’s focused on the two figures in front of him. They fought hand to hand, and their friendly rivalness was giving him nostalgia. The sound of their weapons clanking made him remember just how much he and Kakashi would always fight. Rin would always watch. His face drops at the memories.
“I see,” you frown, “I just wanted to know because you two deserve to flip the page and start anew,” you look at him, “I certainly forgive you. And I don’t blame you—,”
“(Y/N), I’m not a good person,” he cuts you off with furrowed brows, “And I don’t expect anyone to forgive me. Especially not kakashi. After everything that’s happened, the best thing we can do is forget we even exist,”
“I don’t think that way,” you say sternly, “I believe everyone deserves a chance, and that doesn’t exclude you. You had your reasons—heck, you were a kid when you were manipulated—”
“Manipulated?” his head snaps towards you, “it was my decision,”
“You were a kid,” you refute, but he shakes his head, “It doesn't matter,”
“It does! You were a kid, you were vulnerable—”
“And what do you know?” he asks, a little agitated. He didn’t know why he was feeling this way, but his chest was slightly burning up. “You weren't there when it happened. You didn’t know Kakashi, Rin or me that well. So how could you possibly know what I feel? How could you understand?”
“Because I have a heart. You were a vulnerable kid who was grieving the death of someone you loved. You were filled with rage, and Madara took advantage of that,” you spoke calmly, because the last thing you wanted to do was make him feel even worse than he already was, “You didn’t speak to the people you held closest to your heart. You were ripped away from the village in hopes of false promises,” everything you said, you knew because of him. He had talked about this with you shortly after becoming more comfortable with you. You did know, you weren’t exactly there, but you did understand him.
“Please don’t live your life regretting what you did, or hanging onto hatred,” you frown and put a hand on his shoulder, “This is a new beginning for you. One that you were given even after thinking you didn’t deserve it,” you smile, “take advantage of that and work on yourself. If you’re having a hard time doing so, then I’ll help you. I will always be here for you,”
Your words left him speechless. Honestly, he didn’t know what to say. He was at a loss for words. You made him feel… different. A good difference. It was like you were the thing he most longed for. You were pure kindness… It almost reminded him of Rin. No, it did remind him of Rin. His eye never left yours as he tried to think of something to say. Your hand on his shoulder felt so tender and gentle, something he hadn't experienced in a long time. “I care for you Obito,”
He stares at you for what felt like ages, but finally, he worked up the courage to say something, “thank you,”
⋅───⊱༺ ♰ ༻⊰───⋅
“I want a rematch!,” Toko whines, looking at the other teenager who stood crossed arms, “I already won, I don’t think you want me to beat you again,” he says and rolls his eyes.
“Okay boys, that’s all for today. Go home and rest,” you say and chuckle, seeing how Kenji helps Toko up from the ground. The boys packed their things before saying goodbye to both you and Obito. After they left, it was silent. Obito was still deep in thought after your conversation.
“Well, I need you to help me get some things. We’re kind of out of groceries and I need to restock,” you say before turning to him, “Unless you want to go home. That’s okay, I’ll do the grocer—”
“No, I’ll come with,” you were once again surprised by this, but immediately smile, “Okay then,”
It’s safe to assume that you and Obito were starting to become closer than what anyone imagined. Some might say it's too close. He seemed to smile more around you, and since some time had passed, he was now allowed to roam freely without having to be under your supervision. However, he refused to leave your side, and you didn’t mind at all. You were glad, because the bubbling feeling in your stomach everytime he laughed or made you laugh was amazing.
However, you were conflicted. For the longest time, you had always liked a certain silver haired Jonin. Kakashi was always your crush—kind of. You weren’t obsessed with him, but there was an obvious interest. You spent a lot of time together, and were set out on a lot of missions together as well. It’s safe to say that you were always together at all times. You weren’t sure if he had actually reciprocated your feelings, because he never showed any sign of interest in you. I guess that’s kind of why you started losing feelings for him as soon as he became Hokage. He was always busy, and you were too. He never seemed to be interested in you the way you were of him, so it didn’t matter.
Obito seemed to be replacing Kakashi in every sense of the matter. He was now the person you’d spend your time with 24/7. You laughed and joked with him, ate with him, lived in the same house as him. Everything you did, he was right by your side. And the best thing about all of this was that Obito seemed to be interested in you too. You didn’t want to jump to conclusions, but the way compliments would slip out of his mouth from time to time would make your stomach flip. The way he now sits right beside you instead of across you everytime you eat just to be closer to you made you feel amazing. He was trying to be as subtle as possible, but he failed miserably. To him, you had become someone he truly cared for. You were so kind to him, even after everything. You trusted him, because you knew who he was. You understood him in every sense of his being, and he was glad. He was just so glad he had you. Because it was as if the universe reunited you two. It was meant to happen.
It seemed the tables had been severely flipped, much to someone’s distaste. Kakashi, although always busy, heard the talk of the town. He heard the rumors, he heard the stories. He heard about how you and Obito were supposedly going out. Or how you were supposedly spotted at a restaurant together. All of this, Kakahsi could handle, because he knew they were just rumors of the town. Of course the people would start to assume things like that. Obito had to be with you at all times, so of course it would stir up a few rumors here and there. But, it made him wonder if it was actually true.
What exactly were you to Kakashi? Why did he find himself caring so much about these stupid rumors going around? He never admitted this before, but you were special to him. Ever since you were kids, he had an interest in you. At the academy and even after joining the Anbu. You always had a special place in Kakashi’s heart. To him, you were priceless. You cared too much about silly things, and too little of yourself. He hated that about you, but he also loved it. Because it left room for him to love you. He always found himself thinking about you, both when he was a kid, and still to this day. He cursed himself for never telling you how he truly felt, but to him, his romantic feelings would subside with time. They didn’t, of course, he was just lying to himself.
Why exactly did he refuse to believe his feelings towards you? Well, he’s always been alone, and when he’s not, he ends up losing those closest to him. He didn’t want to lose you. He couldn’t afford to love you when he knew that you might leave him. He couldn’t afford another heartbreak, so he treated you as a friend. He was sure you liked him, he wasn’t stupid, and he was glad. He bathed in your sweetness, and he loved it. He loved knowing that you felt the same. However, his biggest mistake was never saying anything. Because now, he was worried that you didn’t want him anymore. Now that you didn’t want him, he wanted you the most. You barely come visit him at his office anymore, and when you do, it's strictly professional. He had never expected things to go this way. Sure, he was now the Hokage, but out of all the people to treat him with such ‘respect’, he didn’t expect it from you. He thought you’d stay the same as you were. Heck, you didn’t even call him by his name anymore. It was either Hatake or Sir, and neither of them left a good taste in his mouth.
That’s why he made sure that tonight, he’d make up for all the time he wasted just pushing you away.
“You called me here for something, Sir?” you ask as you enter his office,
“You know you don’t have to use formalities when we’re alone, right?” he asks with a chuckle, earning and chuckle from you, “I mean, you’re the Hokage, it’s disrespectful to talk to you as if you’re a normal person,”
He shakes his head before sitting down, “How have you been?” he asks, waiting for you to sit down, which you did.
“Um… Well, i’ve been good,” you say hesitantly, “It’s been peaceful,”
“Is that so? I would’ve assumed you’d be stressed thanks to Obito,” he says and rests his chin on the palm of his hand. You quickly look at him and smile, shaking your head with a chuckle. You instantly melt into the conversation, as if you two had never stopped hanging out, “Oh no, he’s an angel,” you cover your mouth with a giggle, “He’s already getting used to everything. You should’ve seen him helping the seniors. They love him,”
The more you spoke about Obito, the more his expression seemed to change, “i see,” he clears his throat, “I’m glad you’re getting along,” he says a little bitterly, but you didn’t quite catch that.
“I was meaning to ask,” you look at him with a smile, “Have you gotten to speak to him? I think it would be a good idea to talk things out. He told me he hasn’t spoken to you since he got here, so…,” you look at your hands, “maybe it wouldn’t be a bother if you two got to speak. I know things are tense right now, so I wanted to—,”
“I don’t think he’d want to agree with that. We’ve parted ways. It’s better to leave things as they are right now. Let things smooth as they go,” he says, earning a small ‘oh’ from you. He noticed how your smile slightly dropped.
“But, I do have tonight free. I was meaning to ask you— well, if you wanted to go out and eat. You know, so we can catch up,” he was hopeful. There was a big chance you’d say no, but to his surprise, your eyes lit up and your smile came back to your pretty face. “Of course, around what time were you planning? Not that I’ll be busy anytime today, I’m free all day,” you smile excitedly.
“How does six sound?”
⋅───⊱༺ ♰ ༻⊰───⋅
“You’re going out?” Obito asks as he lays on your bed. He had a habit of laying on it whenever he could. He would always say it was much more comfortable than his.
“yeah, I thought I told you?” you say as you look through your closet, “No, not really. Where are you going?” he asks curiously, sitting up to look at what clothes you were pulling out.
“I’m going out to meet the Hokage,” you say with a smile, slightly excited that you would get to catch up with him again. This made Obito raise a brow, “So, you’re going out to meet Kakashi,” he states with a ‘matter of fact’ tone “Yes,” you affirm and turn to him. He lays back down, but still looks at you, “Why? Is it like, some weird date or something?”
“No! We’re just going to catch up since we barely spent any time together since he became Hokage,” you say and hold up a dress, “Do you think this is nice?” you smile and show off your dress. A hand comes and pushes the dress aside gently, “It sounds like a date to me,” he looks at your face, kneeling on the bed now.
“Obito, it’s not a date,” you put the dress down, “Even if it was, what's the big deal?”
“Nothing, I’m just saying,” he stands up and walks towards the closet, pulling out another dress, This one was a navy colored one, nothing fancy, but it was still pretty “This one would look way better,” he grins “It’s my favorite color too,”
You smile and take the dress, “Alright,”
After getting dressed and ready, you say goodbye to Obito, who is still on your bed. You heard him ask for some sweets when you got back—but you didn’t really hear him well.
You were both excited and nervous. You didn’t know what to expect. I mean, you knew Kakashi wanted to catch up, sure, but you didn’t know what to expect from yourself. One day you thought you were completely over Kakashi, and now you’re questioning your feelings again. To some extent, your feelings for Kakashi were still very much strong and alive. You were dumb for thinking that you could just forget about him. However, you also felt a little something for Obito. Your mind was reeling with many thoughts. You honestly didn’t know what to do anymore. It was like Kakashi controlled what you felt, and when you could feel it without even trying. You didn’t blame him of course, but it frustrated you a lot.
After a while of walking, you finally saw Kakashi waiting for you at the bridge. You smile and walk towards him, his head turning towards you once he hears your shoes. You assume he smiled at you at the way his eyes turn into crescent moons, “hey,” he greets, turning to face you. “You look wonderful,”
“Thank you,” you reply, your smile never leaving your face as your cheeks are dusted pink. You give him a compliment in return as well, “So, where are we going to eat?” You ask, standing besides him as he begins to lead the way, “I reserved a spot at the new restaurant that just opened recently. I’ve heard real good things about it, and I wanted to bring someone special with me,”
Your heart skipped a beat at his words, but you didn’t want to think much of it, “I see,” your cheeks were dusted pink, your lips forming a small smile as you looked down. He noticed this, and smiled to himself. After all this time, he still had that effect on you.
The restaurant was pretty different from all the others in Konoha. It was a little more modern than any other restaurant, and it just screamed expensive. “Wow, this place looks amazing,” you say as you look around, already sitting across from Kakashi, “I’m not sure I can afford to come here more than two times. It looks really expensive,” you laugh, earning a chuckle from him, “Maybe you won’t have to pay. If you come with me, I’ll definitely make sure to pay for everything. Just like tonight,” he tilts his head with a smile, his eyes closed.
“Oh no, don’t bother, I brought money—,”
“I said I’ll pay (Y/N), don’t worry about it,” he put a hand over yours when you went to reach for your pouch. You look at his hand and then at him, “Are you sure?” He nods and leans back, pulling his hand away from yours, “of course, I was the one who invited you. I’m not letting you pay,” he chuckles. He was so handsome.
The afternoon was going really well. Both were having a nice conversation during your meal—although, you had no idea how he was eating since not once did you see him pull down his mask—and were just enjoying yourselves. You felt euphoric. It was nice being with him again. You had forgotten exactly why you had fallen for him all those years ago, and today you were being reminded. He was so nice, so funny, so perfect to you. He read you like a book and listened to everything you had to say. It was just nice.
“You know, I missed this,” you say, taking the last bite of your food and smiling, “I forgot when was the last time that we actually spoke like this. For hours,” you rest your chin on your palm, “I thought we wouldn’t get to do this anymore”
“I thought so too,” he says and looks into your eyes. He fell quiet as he stared at you. This had to be the moment. He needed to tell you now, because he wouldn’t get another chance if he didn’t.
“(Y/N), I have something really important I want to say,” he says, suddenly a little more serious than before, “I want you to be honest with me,”
You furrow your brows, sitting upright and nodding, “yeah, of course. What is it?”
“How do you really feel about me?” You were taken aback by his question, “I thought you wanted to say something important, not ask me something,” you chuckle a little nervously, trying to avoid answering, but he shook his head, “I’ll tell you when you answer me,”
“Well, I think…,” you stop for a moment, trying to form the words you so badly wanted to utter. ‘I’ve been in love with you for the past fifteen years,’ is all you wanted to say, but you couldn’t. Not when you were torn between telling him and forgetting Obito, or just never telling him at all. “You’re a wonderful person,” you say, and look at him. However, it seemed like that wasn’t the answer he wanted. “And I appreciate you a lot, for always being there for me for as long as I remember,”
The table was now quiet. He seemed to be thinking of what to say, and you were nervously waiting for his answer.
“Do you like me? Romantically,” he asks again, now going straight to the point, making your heart beat faster, “what?” You ask, gulping down the lump in your throat.
“Because I like you. I’ve liked you for as long as I can remember,” he declares, making your heart almost stop. You didn’t expect this. You never would’ve expected this. He had never treated you romantically in his life, so what was the occasion?
“I… Kakashi, I don’t understand,” you furrow your brows, “If that is really true, how come you never told me before—or at least dropped hints,”
“I didn’t want to give you false hopes. I wasn’t sure before, mostly because I was afraid to get hurt,” he admits, “but now I’m sure,”
“But why now? Why now all of a sudden?” You ask, the timing seemed weird. How come now, that you weren’t speaking as much as before, he wanted to confess. Why now?
“I.. don’t know,” he blinks, “but what matters is that I told you,”
“I.. Are you being genuine?” You frown, “because the timing seems a little strange. I don’t understand why you suddenly seem interested in me. I mean, we haven’t hung out, we haven’t spoken—you never showed interest in me before this moment. Why is it that now you suddenly want to say this to me,” you didn’t understand why you weren’t happy. I mean, you liked him, of course, but it felt strange.
The puzzle pieces didn’t fit, and the only reason as to why he was seemingly starting to take an interest now, was because you were spending more time with Obito. You didn’t want to jump to conclusions, but come on, it was plausible. It made sense if you thought about it. They technically hated each other, and it was no secret they were rivals and will always be rivals. It looked as if now that Obito was winning your attention, Kakashi wanted it back.
“Of course I’m being genuine. I’ve always liked you,” he frowns, “Do you not like me?”
“It’s… it’s not that. I just, I don’t think I want anything right now. The timing seems off and I— I just don’t know if I’m sure of what I’m feeling,”
The air seemed to get tense the more you spoke. You seemed conflicted, and Kakashi knew why. He knew why you were conflicted. “This is about Obito, isn’t it?” He suddenly asks, making your head snap towards him. “I…,” you didn’t know how to answer, because to some extent, yes, it was about Obito,
“I knew it,” he leans back, “you like him,”
“It’s not like that,”
“Then why is it that you suddenly changed your mind? I mean, I know you like me. Or at least liked. So why else would you not accept me?”
Now that makes you uncomfortable. He was speaking the truth, but the way he said it sounded wrong.
“Kakashi, things change,” you begin to explain, but you never expected what he said next.
“(Y/N), you can’t just fall for him. I’m not sure if he likes you, but if he does, it’s not genuine. It’s not fair to take advantage of someone who obviously has never been treated nicely before. Of course he’d fall for the first person to show him an ounce of respect,”
Your jaw dropped at his words. You couldn’t believe what you just heard. You had to process everything twice just to make sure you weren’t making things up. Kakashi had to admit he was talking out of frustration—since he wasn’t getting you easily. But this reached a whole different level.
“Unbelievable,” you finally say, reaching for your pouch and pulling out money. You slam it onto the table and stand up.
“(Y/N), wait—,”
“I want you to know that Obito deserves to be loved too, you know. Don’t you ever tell me I’m taking advantage of someone just because I love them,” you scoff and take your things, starting to storm your way out of there. Before you could leave, Kakashi caught your wrist, “I didn’t mean it like that,” he tries to convince, but you pull your arm away, “I know what you meant,” you snarl and finally exit, leaving a guilty Kakashi behind.
The walk home was hot. You felt hot all around. You were angry. Angry and hurt. His words kept swirling in your head.
‘It’s not fair to take advantage of someone who obviously has never been treated nicely before,’
Who did he think he was? How could he even say that? It hurts you. It hurt you because you liked him so much, but this? This made you think about what you felt. It made you question things.
Maybe you were overreacting. You didn’t know. Right now, you didn’t want to know. You got home and quickly stormed towards your bedroom after locking the door. You looked disheveled—and once you reached your bedroom, Obito quickly sat up from your bed, “you’re here early,” he says, but quickly stopped when he saw your red face. Concern washes over him as he stands up, “hey, what’s wrong?”
You stay silent, taking off your shoes while shaking slightly, “(Y/N), what’s going on?” he asks again, coming closer to you and placing his gentle hands on your shoulders, “Hey, look at me,”
You finally look up at him, eyes glossy with tears. You were so mad, so frustrated, that you couldn’t hold back your tears, “what’s wrong?” His voice was so gentle, so soothing. It was exactly what you needed right now. You had possibly ruined your relationship with Kakashi—no, you didn’t ruin it. He did.
“I just,” you choked as your tears finally fell. You hated crying. You hated that you cried when you just wanted to yell.
Instead of pushing you to speak, Obito pulled you into a hug. His arms wrapped around your waist as his hand held your head and pushed it towards his chest. It was so warm. “It’s okay, I’m here,” he whispers, his fingers gently tangling themselves into your hair. Your arms found themselves wrapping around him as well, holding onto him for what seemed like hours. Yet he never moved. He never uttered a word to hurt you. On the contrary, he let you know he was there for you. This is what you needed…
“Thank you, Obito,”
⋅───⊱༺ ♰ ༻⊰───⋅
Days passed by since what happened at the restaurant, and today was the first time since the incident that you were called to the Hokage’s office. You felt dread wash over you when you received the message, you didn’t want to go, not after what happened. Oh, had I mentioned how Obito and you now seemed to be inseparable? That interaction had built a strong bond between the two of you. No words were spoken that night, but they didn’t have to be. Both of you created a connection no other person could achieve.
With every step you took, your body felt heavier. Dread consumed you and you couldn’t seem to open the door to his office. You didn’t know what to expect… however, you managed to build the courage to enter his office, straightening yourself and walking towards his desk, “you called for me, sir?”
His head tilts upwards to look at you, “Yes,” he answers dryly and pulls a scroll from his desk, “a mission for you, out in Kirigakure,” he waits for you to take the scroll, watching you intently. You felt as if his eyes were burning holes onto your skin. You reached for the scroll and took it.
“Take both your students with you,” he adds, and looks down at some papers, “that’s all,”
You weren’t expecting this attitude, but then again, what were you expecting? You felt weird. “Right, thank you,” you say, bowing respectfully before turning towards the exit. As you were about to open the door, he called for you. You turn your head towards him, and wait for him to speak.
“Just know that I’m sorry,” he says, which you simply nodded and left. Once you were out of sight, your heart dropped to your stomach. ‘You should’ve said something’ you thought, mentally facepalming. ‘He was trying to apologize and you just left? You’re so stupid’ you insult yourself as you walk out of the building. You wondered what this mission was about, but you didn’t check until you were back home.
⋅───⊱༺ ♰ ༻⊰───⋅
The mission was simple. There were some ninja terrorizing the village and they needed some help catching them. It wasn’t an S rank mission, but it was still pretty high up there. You assumed the ninja were pretty darn strong if you had to be sent out.
“A mission in the mist village?” Asked Obito as he peeked over your shoulder to see what the scroll said. “Apparently. It’ll take a few days I guess,” you sigh and place the scroll on the desk of your room, going to grab a bag to pack some things. Obito read the scroll with furrowed brows, “why couldn’t he send Naruto and his gang? I mean, they could handle it themselves,” he asks and watches you pack, “because they’re busy with their own missions,” you say, throwing some clothes and tools into your bag, “I have to leave in a few hours, so please keep the place tidy,” you say, turning towards him.
“Of course,” he shrugs and sits down on the bed, “and make sure to eat well—and don’t drool on my pillows this time,” you laugh as he blushed slightly, “that was one time,” he argued
“I know, I’m just messing with you,”
Once it was time to leave, you took your bag and wore your headband. Obito followed behind you as you walked towards the door. “Hey,” he called before you opened the door. You turn to him and raise a brow, “what is it?”
“Please be careful,” he says, obviously worried, “I mean, I know you’ll kick ass, but please be careful,” he smiles at you worriedly, but you grinned reassuringly, “don’t worry Obito, I’ll come back in one piece,” you chuckle and open your arms. He immediately leaned in to give you a strong hug, and for a moment it seemed like he didn’t want to let go. However, you needed to leave and he let go. He smiled gently and pinched your cheek, “alright, I’ll see you soon then,” he says and you nod, leaving him behind. You wondered what he’d do while you were gone, but decided it was better to keep your mind focused on your mission.
⋅───⊱༺ ♰ ༻⊰───⋅
Now while you were gone, a surprise arrived at your doorstep. When Obito answered the door, it was two of Kakashi’s secretaries. “Obito Uchiha, you have been summoned to the Hokage’s office on urgent request,”
Him? What for? Although Obito wanted to ask these exact questions, he only nodded and followed them to the building. He hadn’t been called there for about two months, what could he possibly be called over there for.
Once they arrived, he was left alone in front of the office doors. Everything seemed different. The village itself had changed too much since the last time he was there—well, when he was a kid. He shook the thoughts away and entered the office. Finally, after two long months, Kakashi and Obito were back face to face.
“You called me,” Obito states, his arms crossing in front of his chest as he waits for Kakashi to speak. The silver haired man looks up from his paperwork, his dark eyes burning into Obito’s.
“Yes, we need to talk,”

Heyooo, how are you, bro?
I hope your health is better now!
I have one innocent request.
"How would all Uchiha act if they finds out that you are self-harming?" (Mostly Madara pls😏)
I don't know if it's allowed topic... but yeah.
NSFW; TW self harm; minor mentions of injury; small prologue;
Before I go into this hc, I want to expressly tell anyone who reads this; whether we are mutuals or not. Whether you like my writing, like me or don’t or whatever.
My blog is a safe haven. You can openly message me, befriend me on discord (ask for my handle) or interact in the comments. If you feel like there are people who don’t care enough as they should. I just want to say that, I do. I don’t know who you are, what you’re doing. But I love you. Do not think for a single iota that your existence is merely coincidence, I’m not by any means a holier than thou individual and I’ve had my fair share of this isn’t worth living for: but trust me; it is and then some.
Madara:
Madara comes from an era where you put your best fist forward when things aren’t right. His level of resolve is steel cut and unwavering…but seeing you hurt yourself as an outlet, doesn’t sit well with Madara. And he’s into good old fashioned methods of healing…sorta. Expect to be tied up to his bed; not in the way you’d like either. For days he will keep you there, turning your body so you won’t get bed sores. Feeding you and letting you up to the toilet fa few times a day, and once at night if needed. All of this until you finally talk it out with him, and agree to find a better solution to figuring out how to express your feelings/pain. Insists on being around you every second of the day.
Obito:
I won’t lie, seeing you hurt yourself this way; it makes him cry. Do you want Obito to cry!? He’s inconsolable when you won’t even consider him as a vent source. And, while he won’t selfishly make it about him. He will openly admit most (ok all) of his faults in the hopes you would share your own. Whatever it is, Obito is sure that there are far better way to convey the message you want to share. Suffering in silence is only so fool proof.
Shisui:
No. No, no. No. Shisui one hundred percent won’t stand for it, and despite your protests of him almost catapulting himself off a cliff, he will tell you the error of his ways. Undoubtedly will make sure that you understand that even his own potential sacrifice would have been fruitless, and that you shouldn’t compare apples to oranges. And from there, Shisui will spend countless hours, days and nights proving to you just how sacred human life is. He inadvertently blames himself for some of this, you mentioning his almost demise opens old wounds and Shisui takes the opportunity for you both to grow and evolve. He wants to be a role model; not the reason you justify it.
Itachi:
In a way; he’s bereaved. This is highly unusual for you, and Itachi’s keen eyes (and new prescription glasses) catch a glimpse of your fresh wounds as he lightly snatches your arm. ‘Why would you do this?’ and ‘that’s not a logical reason to purposely harm yourself.’ Are a few of his stern words to you. Itachi is a no nonsense man, and he won’t tolerate you hurt yourself. If he was a true jerk, like he tricked many to believe for the longest time; he’d put you in Tsukuyomi and really give you something to think about. But instead, he inundated you day in and day out with his concern. Hoping that if you see one person who cares; you will eventually open up.
Sasuke:
Sasuke, traumatized by his older brother—not once but twice and more, lived in excruciating detail his own parents death, several times over. In the matter of three seconds; he understands your grief. Whatever you might be going through, I think when it comes to seeing other people suffering—especially as adult Sasuke, he can’t cope with it, and rarely did for himself. Which is sort of mkes him the besy person for this. He also doesn’t mince words and tells you straight out that you’re only causing yourself more harm in the long run. His method of cut and dry reality checks come in waves, when you think he’s not watching you, he’s right there. Don’t under estimate his capabilities. You’re on his radar and Sasuke won’t hesitate to use his techniques to get you talking; the sooner you find the root cause of your problems. The better, take it from someone who let their pain fester until it boiled over, it’s not worth it.

Modern AU! Kakashi is Naruto's guardian who meets his child's teacher for the first time and immediately falls in love with him
[Part 3]
Kakashi irritably unfastened his sword belt and threw it into the locker. The sudden task that the Third assigned in the morning dragged on until the evening. Kakashi was late for school again. And he had absolutely no time to warn Guy about his lateness.
“Shit!” - Kakashi slammed the locker door loudly.
“Hatake,” - he heard a voice and turned around.
Kakashi caught the object flying at him and unclenched his fist. The keys were in his hand.
“Take my bike, I’ll fill out all the reports myself.”
Kakashi threw his leather jacket over his shoulders and quickly walked towards the door.
“I owe you, Shiranui.”
Genma waved his hand at him lazily.
“Go already, Naruto has probably been waiting for you.”
Kakashi nodded thankfully and ran to the parking lot. Hatake immediately found Genma's bike. The black Yamaha YZF-R1 attracted the eye. Kakashi ran his hand over the cold metal. He had never been much of a fan of motorcycles, unlike Genma, but had ridden them often in the past. But after Naruto appeared, Kakashi got rid of all his motorcycles, giving them to Shiranui. However, this motorcycle was Genma's personal one, his favorite bike. Kakashi mentally promised him that he would treat the motorcycle with extreme caution.
Kakashi drove quickly through the deserted streets. Dusk began to fall on the city. Hatake was already a full two hours late. He couldn't even imagine Naruto's reaction. This child always had problems with trust in people and Kakashi tried to avoid situations in which Naruto's trust in him could be shaken. And there was also Guy. Kakashi again felt guilty for not being able to warn about his lateness and again forcing Guy to stay at work. The problem was that while on a mission, Kakashi could not call Rin or Obito and ask them to pick up Naruto. The Third once again decided to ruin his life. Kakashi pursed his lips in irritation and sped up.
Quickly pulling off his helmet as he ran, Kakashi ran into the school. The guard nodded at him and Hatake ran down the corridors straight to Naruto's class. With every step, he heard voices coming from the class more and more clearly.
“How do you like this color?” - he heard Guy's voice.
“Orange! It's my favorite color!” - Naruto's voice came next.
Kakashi slowed down and tried to even out his breathing. Everything was fine with Naruto, he didn't expect anything else. The child was safe and sound in Guy's company. Kakashi awkwardly knocked on the door and opened it. Entering the class, he first met Guy’s brown eyes, in which one could read anxiety and fatigue. Kakashi exhaled with relief, not seeing irritation and anger on Guy's face.
“Nii-chan!” - Naruto ran towards him.
“Naruto, stop,” - Naruto slowed down when he heard Guy’s voice.
Kakashi crossed the distance and dropped to one knee in front of the child and squeezed him tightly in his arms. Hatake felt Naruto's arms wrap around his neck and closed his eyes.
“Now you're covered in paint,” - Guy's soft voice rang out over Kakashi.
Hatake opened his eyes and caught the man's gentle smile.
“It doesn’t matter,” - Kakashi ran his hand over the child’s back. - “Guy…”
“Later,” - the man shook his head. - “Will you help us?”
“Yes, of course,” - Kakashi gently broke the hug. - “With what?”
“Guy sensei and I are preparing for the festival!” - Naruto announced.
Now Kakashi could get a good look at the child. All his clothes were stained with paint, Guy's clothes looked no better. Kakashi could see that his leather jacket was now also covered in different colors. But he never really bothered about clothes, if Naruto was happy to paint, then he could paint the whole apartment and Kakashi wouldn’t say a word to him.
“We got a little carried away,” - Guy pursed his lips guiltily.
“It’s okay,” - Kakashi came closer and picked up the brush. - “How can I be useful?”
Guy began to explain the details of the upcoming festival, while Naruto added his comments. Kakashi tried to listen carefully, but after a few seconds he became distracted by the man's face. Guy looked stunning, as he always did. It's been three weeks since they started texting. Every day their conversations became longer and longer, but none of them decided to take the next step. While Kakashi looked at the sparkle in Guy's eyes as he talked about the upcoming sports festival, he realized that he was the one who had to decide to take this step.
“I don’t know if I would have made it by tomorrow morning without Naruto’s help,” - Guy patted the boy’s hair.
Naruto smiled brightly at the praise. His big blue eyes shone with delight and adoration as he looked at the teacher. Kakashi wondered if he himself looked like that from the outside when he looked at Guy?
They quickly finished painting a large banner with a picture of a huge green turtle. After that, they inflated about twenty balloons and arranged desks. Naruto was already rubbing his eyes tiredly and yawning when they finished all the preparations. Kakashi glanced at his watch.
“Sorry for keeping you,” - he heard Guy’s voice.
“Sorry I'm late,” - Kakashi walked up to him, leaving Naruto to pack his things. - “An unexpected situation arose at work and I did not have the opportunity to write to you. I'm really sorry.”
“It’s okay,” - Guy smiled at him reassuringly. - “I just… I was worried about you.”
Kakashi blinked in surprise. Guy looked away embarrassedly.
“I understood that you were late at work, I just also know that you don’t have an ordinary job. And that’s why I was worried about you.”
Hatake suppressed a smile. It was very pleasant to hear these words.
“Are you free this Saturday?” - the question escaped his lips before he could stop himself.
Guy's eyes widened in surprise. He nodded silently.
“Would you like to go on a date with me?” - Kakashi asked breathlessly.
“I want to,” - Guy answered in a hoarse voice, looking at Hatake with fascination.
Kakashi smiled widely.
“Then let’s get in touch about the time and place?”
Guy nodded, still remaining silent. A light blush colored his cheekbones. Kakashi walked up to Naruto to check him.
“Thank you for looking after him. See you.”
Guy waved at Naruto and met Kakashi's gaze. Guy's tense shoulders dropped, he smiled softly at Kakashi, and caught the man's return smile.
***
“Hello,” - Guy answered the call without even looking at the name of the caller.
“Let's meet today? I have a day off,” - he heard his friend’s voice.
“Sorry, I can’t,” - Guy sighed. - “I already have plans.”
“Plans?” - the man asked and then chuckled. - “A date or something?”
“Yes, it is.”
“Wait, what?” - the man stopped grinning. - “Are you serious?”
“Yes,” - Guy rolled his eyes. - “Is this so hard to believe?”
“No, of course not,” - he immediately heard his friend’s voice. - “It’s just that you haven’t met anyone for a long time and this is a little unexpected.”
Guy sighed loudly.
“I know, this is also a little unusual for me,” - the man fell on the bed and covered his face with his palm.
“And who is this lucky guy?”
“The most handsome man I have ever seen in my life,” - Guy smiled dreamily.
“Whoa,” - the man laughed. - “I thought I took this place of honor.”
“Not in this reality, Genma,” - Guy snorted.
“How did you meet?“
“He is the guardian of one of my children.”
“That’s it,” - the man drawled. - “I need more information.”
“Don't tell me you're going to run a database check on him or something.”
“Okay, I won’t say that.”
“Genma,” - Guy said reproachfully and rolled his eyes.
“Okay, okay,” - the man muttered conciliatoryly. - “What he does for a living?”
“Honestly, I don’t know,” - Guy had thought about this more than once, but still couldn’t bring himself to ask Kakashi directly. - “Judging by what I saw, his job is not very easy and very secret.”
“That’s how it is,” - Genma said thoughtfully. - “Secret, you say…”
“It sounds like you were able to find out all the information about him from this one fact.”
“And if so?”
“This is impossible, Genma,” - Guy shook his head and sat up on the bed, casting a sad look at the closet, he still hadn’t decided on the choice of clothes.
“Isn’t your lucky guy’s name Hatake Kakashi?” - Shiranui suddenly asked.
Guy opened his eyes in surprise.
“How did you…”
“I thought so!” - Genma screamed loudly. - “This brat has been walking around so happy lately!”
“What-”
“He doesn’t let go of the phone for a second,” - the man continued. - “And he constantly smiles, well, not with his lips, but with his eyes. Others may not notice, but I see it perfectly well.”
“How do you—what’s going on? How do you know Kakashi?” - Guy frowned. - “Don't tell me you're working together.”
“We are working together.”
“Damn,” - Guy tiredly ran his hand over his face.
“It turned out quite funny,” - there were cheerful notes in Genma’s voice.
Guy sighed heavily. The situation became more and more confusing.
“Hey,” - he heard his friend’s voice. - “Everything will be fine.”
Guy smiled at the corner of his lips. Genma always knew exactly what emotions Guy was experiencing, even when he was so far away from his friend.
“You know, Hatake is… complicated. He is closed, distant and sometimes acts like a complete jerk. But in reality, behind all the high walls he has built around himself, he is a good guy. I've known him for many years and he has a very complicated past. I'm sure he'll tell you everything himself. All I can tell you is that after thinking about it a little, I realize that you are perfect for each other. You know how much I care about you, kid, I would never put you in any danger.”
“Thank you, Genma,” - Guy blinked away hot tears and smiled widely.
“Go and have some fun, you deserve it.”
Guy threw the phone on the bed and walked towards the closet with a decisive step. Genma's words gave him even more confidence. He intended to go to a bar and have the best evening with the most gorgeous man.

Obito vs Itachi
There is a lot of debait who is stronger and i dont want to continue with the same Power scaling. Instead i will explain their dynamic and my Interpretation of the character changes depanding on who is stronger.
I see them as a Snape and Voldemort Comby. Not entirely because of personality but because of their stand to each other.
One is a spy and the other is the master and teacher. The teacher is the one who is able to manipulate an army and the servant is not great with people but is more book smart and able to archive things the master cant, so he is valueble for the master. Even though the leader knows the servant is untrust worthy he still ends up relying more on the spy than he should. This works and is impressiv because the master is smart enough not to be fooled by everyone. Meaning the student is even better in terms of intelligence than them. The student has good enough inside into the Situation to fool the big bad which makes him ecential for the good side. This includes the knowledge that he cant win the fight and his dead at the master Hand would lead to no good outcome. So he has to Plan around an all out confrontation. This means setting Others up to fight the big bad with tools their hid and didnt use themselfs. This is also the reason why they never fought, even if they could do some damage. Because it would never last and make no difference for the defeat of the bad guy. Only hit them off and lead to the villain looking into what the spy did exactly and destroy the plans they set up.
Snape was never able to defeat Voldemort in an all out battle and he knows it. What makes his spying so great is that he spent time with someone more evil and powerful than him and still management to fool Voldemort into trusting him enough so he could plan his downfall.
That is Itachi for me. He knows he cant win against Obito so he plans his steps around him. During this he made such a great job that even Obito didnt know about Amaterasu or Shisui eye, even though he know itachi was a spy and he should have keept a close eye on him. Itachi never even tryed to fight because he know that even if defeating Obito would stop the greatest danger to Konoha, it would just end in his dead instead so it would be pointless to try.
Itachi had great inside into his own and Obitos cababilitys and made a move with put him into the smarter spy Situation. This is what i like about Itachi. A good hearth who did what was smart in a dangerous Situation.
If Itachi was stronger than Obito it would change my perspective on him. Itachi would have been not smart enough to see that he could have gotten rid of Konohas biggest enemy and than fight sasuke later. since Obito loses some danger if Itachi could just get rid of him the information stealing and ahead planning becomes less impressiv. Both Obito as the Main villain until the war arc and Itachi as the smart double agent would lose some respect if they fail in their roles. Even if Itachi is now stronger and Obito now smarter it is not part of the character role their should play.
This would be like if Snape could have killed Voldemort permanently and never did it because even if his Main role was spying, he never found out he could do it. So he died instead and if Voldemort was a worse actor snape would have found out and just killed the Main villain before harry potter could.
Even though i think Obito is stronger than Itachi and Itachi is smarter based on facts. This is irrelevant because for the story and for how i like the characters ( a smart spy and charasmartic strong villain ) it is necessary that Obito is stronger. Otherwise the dynamic has to change and Obito is the smarter and Itachi the stronger character. No character can be smarter and stronger than the other At the same time or one of them would be dead already. Like i showed above the first dynamic makes more sence simply on the role they play. It could work the other way around, but i would hate it for Obito to be weaker than his own members and Itachi dumber than Obito. It is simply not the way they are written and as i see them. As a fan of both, i see if i hold Itachi into to high of a regard in strenght, he loses some of his intelligence, with made me a fan of him to begin with.
So short Obito is stronger than Itachi for story and character sake.

Here is my contribution for @obito-week and the prompt identity!
Characters: Obito, Kisame Relationships: A little bit of Kisame/Obito, but it’s mostly platonic No trigger warnings.
“I trust you.”
Kisame looks up from the book he’s been reading to the Uchiha sitting on the sofa chair across the room. A toothy grin pull at his lips.
“I’m glad you do, Madara-sama.”
Maskless and relaxed, Obito’s gaze remains on Kisame’s face. Madara isn’t his name, it’s a façade, an identity used to bring fear in others. A persona to manipulate, such as he’s been taught.
There’s nothing Kisame hates more than lies.
Obito has been pondering about it in silence for a long time, him and Kisame have been working wonderfully together and without the mask, the Uchiha has been building up a certain familiarity with his partner. Which led him to notice a few things.
“You do know… Right?” The Uchiha finally asks after a long silence.
His personas never felt like lies to Obito. Objectively, they are. To him, however, they can’t really be. He’s an empty shell, he’s no one.
Kisame raises a brow, a little confused at the question.
“Know what, Madara-sama?”
“That Madara died long ago…”
The book is lowered as Kisame’s grin slowly fades, replaced by seriousness. Fish-like gaze examine the Uchiha’s features for a moment, not shocked by the revelation.
“I had my suspicions.” Kisame’s brows furrow, “You pretended to be the Mizukage, then you pretended to be an idiot named Tobi. It seems to me that you love to lie to people about who you are.” His tone is accusatory, offended… But not angry.
Obito sighs, his hands feel sweaty in his gloves. He’s nervous.
“I would have thought you’d react differently… Are you not bothered by my lie?”
Kisame grins once again, a strained grin,
“You’ve proven your strength and potential long ago and your loyal dedication on completing the new world you promised me, a world without lies… Tells me that you aren’t just all talk. I’m equally dedicated on bringing about this plan, sir.”
Obito is quite taken aback by this response, it’s obvious that Kisame is annoyed by his lie but it seems that the plan is more important at the moment.
The Uchiha averts his eyes to instead focus on one of the various candles of their hideout.
“Madara is a powerful name. A feared name in all nations.” Obito states as a matter of fact. “And Madara is the man who saved my life… And demanded that I use his name.”
Kisame listens in silence, takes in the new information.
“I’m no one. That… Is my truth.” He has no identity of himself, he’s only here to play a role and save the world from it’s pain and suffering.
“But you are an Uchiha, no?” Kisame frowns, how can someone be no one? This man may be playing pretend every second of his existence, he still must be someone.
Obito nods, “That’s where I was born.”
“What should I call you now, sir Uchiha?”
The question brings anxiety to Obito’s chest. “A-anything you please.”
“That doesn’t satisfy me, I want to know your original name.” Kisame pushes, he can’t go for another fake name, he can’t stand calling this man Madara or Tobi anymore. He needs something true.
Obito blankly stares at him, eyes wide and mouth completely dry. For the first time in years, he’s feeling particularly vulnerable.
“Do you not trust m-”
“I do!” Obito cuts Kisame’s sentence in a panic. He trusts him, has trusted him since day one.
“It’s… Obito…” The name feels strange on his tongue, a name he hasn’t said since Rin’s death. “Uchiha Obito.”
Kisame observes the nervousness in Obito’s features, the way the man seems deeply uncomfortable in divulging this personal information. This is not a lie. In fact, this feels like the truest thing he’s heard coming out of that man’s mouth.
With a smirk, Kisame returns to his book.
“It’s good to finally meet you, Obito-san. The true you.”

Again a little about Konan.
And if with specifics - why Yahiko / Konan - the ship that killed Konan as a character.
So, let's start from afar. From the moment we first see Konan. We see her as one of the few female characters in Naruto with character, ideology, and a dream. She understands how the world works and therefore chooses the path of Akatsuki to establish this very world. She sincerely believes that Nagato is a deity, strictly speaking, she is (pay attention to the foot of the grave of Yahiko and Nagato, which depicts the rinnegan). under the influence of Nagato, her worldview is also formed - and there is nothing wrong with that. Because Konan's choice is still: 1) independent 2) unselfish 3) conscious
Yes, we can partly say that the attitude towards Nagato as a god is a consequence of the burden of guilt that she feels: Yahiko died, and Nagato was disabled - and all this was her fault, objective fault.
It doesn't make her a bad character, no. She is still the same good female character, but already traumatized, albeit with guilt - the most banal way to create this trauma, which, however, fits very well into the whole story of the Ame orphans.
And then we are shown the presence of romantic feelings between her and Yahiko. Yahiko, who tells her, "Look after Nagato. He is our bridge to the world."
Now Konan is just a toy in the hands of the person she loved and loves, because in fact, these words partially deprive her of independence of choice (we are talking about the fact that she stayed with Nagato), which casts doubt on her ability to come independently to certain conclusions about the world order and other philosophical issues. Gradually, Konan becomes ... an ordinary female Naruto character. Weak-willed, weak, without opinion, and a nail in the coffin Konan is a short story about Akatsuki. Let's analyze:
1) Konan sincerely believes that Obito has defamed Akatsuki.
It's not about her diligently shifting the responsibility to Obito, but about Akatsuki, as an organization and concept in its original form and in its final form.
So, we have a world whose economy is literally based on wars (let me remind you that less than 20 years passed between shinobi wars, which already says a lot). And Konan, already an adult, believes that the Akatsuki concept of "a world with minimal use of military force" is something that can change the reality around her. Is there any logic in this? No. Because Konan: 1) is not capable of complex analysis 2) loves Yahiko, who until his death believed in some kind of "mutual understanding" (how does mutual understanding guarantee peace?). These two points synergize with each other, forming Konan's strong belief in her own depravity (after all, she believes that she is not entitled to have children ... because she has done many terrible things, and not because she lives in a world where her child - potential cannon fodder). As a result, Konan's guilt is magnified many times over. And what does she do? That's right, he begins to believe in Nagato as a deity, but not because of the logic and progressiveness of his views, not because he gave Amegakure peace and prosperity, but because of his inability to cope with this feeling of guilt, as a result: Nagato is not just God, but the one on whom, again, Konan can shift the responsibility. Share with him the pain and the guilt. And this would not make her worse if everything did not come from her miserable views, which remained similar to her views at 15 years old.
We get: 1) the words of Yahiko (who also glorifies Nagato, literally forces Konan to be with Nagato) 2) a greatly increased sense of guilt 3) the only close person she has left is Nagato.
Does Conan have any ideology? Philosophy? Methods for achieving peace? No. They simply don't exist. Because a teenager in love sits in the body of an adult 35-year-old woman. This is clearly seen in how easily she trusted Naruto. And to be precise, she didn't trust him at all. She was indifferent and just did what Nagato told her to do. And the whole Konan is in this: Nagato did not say to gouge out his eyes - she did not gouge out; Nagato said - I chose a new path (emphasis on "I") - and Konan did the same as he did, without even comprehending the reason for Nagato's act (from which her verbal conflict with Obito followed, which Nagato just understood very well) ; Yahiko said be with Nagato and she stayed with Nagato. The only thing she cared about when Nagato used Rinne Tensei was Nagato himself. As soon as Nagato told her to stop, she didn't stop him. And I would calmly accept it, if not for the hypocritical words about the world that she wants to achieve. Seriously, if she said in plain text: "I don't care about the world, all I'm interested in is my friend." - I would understand her. But no: Conan constantly talks about the world (in those cases when she is allowed to speak at all, and to be more precise, when she allows herself to speak). And moreover, perhaps I would like her if I was sure that Obito and Nagato terrorized her for 20 years, and under the yoke of two sociopaths, she would not stand it and become a faithful slave of the red-haired tyrant. But in the confrontation between her and Obito, we are made clear: if Konan hates Obito with all his heart (and blames him for all the troubles), then Obito himself does not care deeply about her. He doesn't show any remorse for killing her and, mindfully, shows respect for Nagato (albeit mixed with resentment).
The dynamics of the Ame orphans, fortunately, judging by what was shown, did not suffer in any way from the fact that Konan and Yahiko were in love ... but it had a strong effect on subsequent events, but this is more a reproach to Yahiko.
Later on, we see that Nagato is, to put it mildly, indifferent towards Konan. Yes, he once said that Konan and Yahiko are people for whom he is ready to kill, but in the future ...
Yeah... you know
Tumblr media
You know, many blame Obito for lack of adequate motivation. I agree with this, but let's not forget that a stone fell on his head, but what excuses does Conan have, except for the banal story of a dead lover - I, unfortunately, do not know.
And yes, Nagato, be kind

a little hatake kakashi one-shot, in which he suddenly has the picture perfect life? what if minato had lived? what if the fox had never attacked?
When Hatake Kakashi opened his eyes, he was unsurprised to see himself staring into the brilliant blue eyes of Uzumaki Naruto. He had been on so many missions with him that it was not the first time, and it certainly would not be the last. What was also unsurprising was that he was frowning. What was slightly surprising however, was the fact that Naruto managed to get inside Kakashi’s home.
“Sasuke showed me how to get inside,” Naruto said, bored.
Jeez, Kakashi thought. He was grateful that the cover of his bedsheet was covering his face. He still made it his mission to ensure that none of his devoted pupils (who were, to be fair, no longer pupils but equals) did not see his face. He got immense pleasure from the way it drove them insane.
Naruto was pushing eighteen now, and had filled out from his hard training. The truth was, he could run circles around Kakashi, and the two of them would often try to out-stage each other by who had the coolest new jutsu. But considering Naruto had not one, but three powerful teachers (himself, Jiraya, his father), Naruto had easily outshined everyone in the village. He’d, of course, never say that to Sasuke’s face.
“Turn around,” Kakashi said.
Naruto stood up straight, already dressed for the day and turned around, allowing Kakashi to properly dress. “You know sensei, you should really learn how to manage your time better.”
“You’re giving me a lecture?” Kakashi drawled. “I suppose the mighty really have fallen.” he grinned, watching Naruto get tense. “Is this how you greet your master on his birthday?”
“Master?” Naruto barked. “On our last mission, you said we were equals!”
“Well, I’ll say whatever I have to, to get what I want. I’m a slick talker.”
“Hey now!” Naruto turned around, annoyed, but when he saw Kakashi smiling at him through his mask, he relaxed and grinned. “Hey, sensei, happy birthday.”
“Thank you, Naruto. Can I at least brush my teeth?” It was not really a question, as Kakashi already moved past him and made his way to the bathroom, making sure to lock the door. You could never really trust that Naruto would respect certain personal boundaries.
“Fine, fine,” Naruto called. “You know, it’s not like you to sleep in!”
That was true. Kakashi probably would have been late to his own birthday breakfast party regardless, but not due to sleep. In fact, Kakashi was quite sure this was the first real sleep he had in a long time. That being said, it had not been an easy one. He had the strangest dream about Naruto and Sasuke. They had been fighting, but it was a fight unlike anything Kakashi had seen. Sasuke was coming at Naruto with the intent to kill him, and Sakura too. It had been an awful, awful dream, and Kakashi was glad that his pupils had never raised their kunai knives to one another with that sort of bloodlust and anger. It was strange, how real the dream had felt.
Kakashi splashed water on his face after he finished brushing his teeth and carefully fixed his mask and his headband.
“Okay,” Kakashi opened the door. “Let’s go!”
Naruto smiled his crooked smile, the one that made Kakashi’s heart tighten. He felt, suddenly, an overwhelming surge of love for his pupil, who was here to make sure that he had a good day, on his birthday. Kakashi was a man who kept his cool, both in battle and in his personal life, but as he got older, he found it harder and harder to stop himself from being emotional.
That held true as he opened the door to the Hatake compound and saw Uchiha Obito waiting for him. They met eyes, and for a brief moment, Kakashi felt a sharp pain on the right side of his forehead, but it was gone a second later. He saluted his friend.
“Yo.”
Obito threw him a half-smile. “Happy birthday, old man.”
The cheery, energetic boy he once knew was long gone now, turned hard by Rin’s death and for nearly destroying Konoha. His physical appearance seemed to mirror that, the part of him that had been shattered by rocks had been regrown and bandaged using Hashirama’s cells, and his face would forever be badly scarred. Kakashi still had his Sharingan, which, somehow, made him feel like he was part of Obito even after he found out his friend was alive. Two halves of a whole. Kakashi loved him so much it hurt. The same way Rin’s death still hurt.
“We’re the same age, idiot.”
“You’re a few months older than me.”
Naruto slapped his teacher on the back and gave a happy laugh. “I’ll meet you two at the house, I’m starving!” As he jumped onto the roof and into the trees, Obito shouted after him.
“Hey Naruto, don’t eat all the food before we get there!” He clicked his tongue, knowing full well that Naruto would most likely do just that and tugged at Kakashi’s arm, pulling him along. “Let’s go!” he snapped. “That kid has a bigger appetite than Choji.”
“You’re being dramatic as usual.”
Obito snorted but said nothing, not letting go of Kakashi’s arm until they were on one of the main streets of Konoha, “Man, after all these years, you know I still get looks from the old people?” he snapped, crossing his arms. “This town really doesn’t like reformed criminals.”
Something about that sentence bothered Kakashi, but he couldn’t place his finger on why that was. He simply scratched at his masked chin and nudged Obito with his elbow. “You know,” he said quietly, “what matters is who you are now. It’s their own fault if they can’t see that.”
“I guess.” he sighed. “It’s better when you’re here, they trust you.” Obito gave a long sigh and put his hands behind his head as he walked, closing his eyes. Kakashi took the opportunity to stare at him. “Maybe you’re good for something, after all, Kakashi,” his mouth quirked, so Kakashi allowed himself to chuckle, pulling a small laugh out of Obito.
Kakashi, not for the first time, wondered how life might have turned out if Obito had been successful and had wreaked havoc on the village. If Minato had not saved him, not convinced him to come back to the village with him. Part of Kakashi felt like he knew what would have happened. Perhaps Obito would have gone down an even darker path, Minato and Kushina could have easily died, as could have so many more. Naruto’s life could have been altered forever. Who knew what could have unravelled? And yet, Kakashi felt that he did know. He had this feeling that he had never been able to get rid of, that perhaps that chain of events would have hurt more than just Naruto. It would have extended, somehow to Sasuke. Kakashi could not quite say why he felt that way, but he simply did.
Maybe my instincts are just not what they once were.
“Hey, Obito.”
“Hm?”
“Do you ever wonder what might have happened, that day, when Naruto was born? If things had gone differently?”
Obito opened his eyes and lowered his hands. He was thoughtful for a few moments, something that was rare when they were children, but now, in their adult lives, Obito seemed to always be thinking about something important.
“I do,” he said, after a long while. “But I try not to, either.”
Kakashi nodded. “I have these dreams sometimes...” he trailed off, not really knowing how to even explain them. The great fox destroying Konoha, Minato dying, Kakashi being so alone until he got team 7...
Obito put a hand on Kakashi’s shoulder, smiling gently at him. For a moment, he was closer to the young boy he once was, instead of the damaged man he had become. “Kakashi, everything turned out the way it was supposed to. It’s your birthday, don’t think about such terrible things.”
Kakashi took a deep breath and nodded. “You’re right.”
“Make sure you say that again in front of everyone else.”
“Dream on, kid.”
“Hey! You’re only a few months older than me!”
“I thought I was an old man.”
Obito nearly snapped something in return, but they had made it to Minato and Kushina’s home, and upon their arrival, they were greeted with what Kakashi could only describe as an explosion of screams. Obito yelped and Kakashi’s entire body went rigid as his family assaulted him.
Kushina pulled him inside before he could get a word out, and his eyes swept over the huge buffet-style breakfast they had laid out (centred around his very pink cake) before landing on the people who were there. Considering the amount of noise that had come out of the door, Kakashi actually expected more people. It was just Sakura, Sasuke, Naruto, Kushina, and Minato. Then again, Naruto and Kushina had enough vocal power for a dozen people each.
Obito was rubbing at his ears as he spoke to Kakashi. “Gai and Iruka are planning a birthday for you at a bar tonight. All your friends,” he explained. He knew exactly what Kakashi had been thinking.
“You’ll be there?”
Obito’s eyes softened. “Of course. I'm always with you Kakashi, even if it doesn't feel that way."
It was such an odd thing for Obito to say, so odd in the fact that Kakashi once more had another pulse on the right side of his head. As if Obito was the one making his head hurt. Maybe he was getting sick.
Sakura walked over to him. “Happy birthday, sensei.” she kissed him on the cheek. A surprisingly soft gesture from someone who had gone out of her way to find and work under one of the legendary Sannin: Tsunade. She had been inspired by Naruto’s training with Jiraya and had gone on her own quest, becoming one of the best medical ninjas Kakashi had ever known. And one of the scariest women.
“Thank you, Sakura.”
Sasuke reached behind the table and took out a present, walking over to Kakashi and smiling softly. “Sensei.” he put it out before him.
“Sasuke...” Kakashi was stunned.
“You trained me after all.” Sasuke said hurriedly, clearly embarrassed by the show of affection.
Kakashi felt another pain in his forehead. He had certainly trained Sasuke, after all, it was him who had taught Sasuke to use Chidori. But just like before, something bothered him about that sentence. Sasuke had also trained under the other magnificent fights of the Uchiha clan. But there was something else...something Kakashi couldn’t—
“Hey now!” Naruto exclaimed, looking around in panic. “No one told me we were doing gifts!”
Sakura pulled at his ear. “Idiot, what did you think? It’s a birthday after all!”
Sasuke closed his eyes as he smiled. “Idiot.”
“Call me an idiot one more time!” Naruto growled, grabbing Sasuke by the shirt.
“I-di-oit.” Sasuke sounded out.
“Sasuke!”
Kakashi watched with a soft smile, but his heart felt tight.
Then, suddenly, he thought, this is too good to be true.
Kakashi-sensei.
Kakashi shook his head. His students had not called his name. What a strange feeling. He had woken up on the wrong side of the bed, clearly. He composed himself and watched as Naruto and Sasuke, still arguing, took their seats, and Sakura followed, sitting right by Sasuke. Kushina sat next to Naruto and scolded all three of them, somehow. Obito patted Kakashi on the back and sat, leaving the spot next to him for Kakashi, yelling over the table at Naruto about jutsus, as his mother simultaneously yelled at him for arguing with Sasuke.
He wished, not for the first time, that Rin and his father were here to see this.
“Kakashi,” Minato’s warm voice fell over him.
Kakashi-sensei.
Kakashi looked at his teacher, his father figure. Naruto was the spitting image of Minato. Minato’s hair was longer than his son’s, and middle age was treating him kindly. His eyes were just as blue, just as bright, and just as loving.
Looking at Minato, is like looking at the sun, Kakashi thought.
“Minato-sensei.” Kakashi bowed his head slightly. After all, Minato was still Hokage.
Isn't he?
“Can we talk privately for a moment?”
“Of course, sir.”
“Ah, Kakashi, come on, how many times do I have to tell you to stop being so formal with me?”
Kushina’s loud voice targeted them next. “Hey you two, don’t go too far! I can’t stop them all from eating you know!”
Minato waved his hand and threw his arm over Kakashi’s shoulder. “Just let them, Kushina! Naruto, you know better than to eat it all. It’s Kakashi’s birthday after all.”
Naruto ignored his father.
I’m so happy Naruto has them here.
Kakashi didn’t have time to dwell on his thought too long as Minato started to lead him out to the balcony. From the corner of his eye, Kakashi thought he saw something, but Minato’s forcefulness pushed him forward, and suddenly he was back outside. The sky, suddenly, did not seem as blue. It seemed whiter, if that were possible. God, his head was hurting him.
“Kakashi, I know it’s your birthday, but I actually wanted to talk to you about something.” Minato leaned against his balcony, looking inside at his son and his wife, while Kakashi watched him.
“Anything, sensei.”
Minato smiled. Kakashi would do anything his sensei asked. He loved Minato more than words could say, which is why he allowed the connection with his students to deepen into bonds that could not be severed. These were his people, his family. His father may be gone, but he had a found family, right here, in this place.
And in another...
Kakashi-sensei, please...
Kakashi refrained from pressing his hands against his aching forehead. “Minato-sensei, I wish...” he blurted out suddenly, feeling overcome with emotion. He wanted to say I wish you were here, but he knew that was insane. Minato was right in front of him. He had grown and learned under one of the greatest shinobi in the entire world. One who considered him to be a son, even.
But it was like Kakashi had not spoken. Even those words had sounded muffled in his own ears. “Kakashi,” Minato continued, “I wanted to thank you.” His eyes moved away from his son and met with Kakashi’s visible eye. His smile was so bright, Kakashi thought he’d go blind.
But...also...his eyes did hurt, in fact. Even his covered eye was aching, like bright lights were somehow being pointed directly into his eyes.
“Thank me?”
“You take care of Naruto when I can’t, and that means more to me than you will ever know. I know he is not your son, but in a way, he almost feels like that, doesn’t he?”
Kakashi knew that Jiraya-sama was Naruto’s official guardian if anything ever befell Minato and Kushina, but to hear that kind of praise from the person he admired most overwhelmed him. Strange, one would think that Kakashi would be used to it, especially since he had known Minato for most of his life—but also, somehow, it was as though...damn, I can’t quite put my finger on what’s bothering me.
“That being said,” Minato continued smoothly, “I do my best to watch over him. I hope he can feel me with him, always.”
“Minato-sensei...”
“It’s a strange thing, parenthood. As are these bonds we have as teachers and students, don’t you think?”
“S-sure.” Kakashi’s head was starting to hurt more and more. He looked over his shoulder, panic rising in his chest when he saw that Naruto and the others were blurry.
Obito, where was Obito?
“Sensei.” Kakashi reached for his teacher’s hand, grasping it so tightly that he was sure he was hurting him. But he didn't want to let go, he didn't want to let this feeling go. He knew, he knew that if he released Minato's hand, suddenly it would all fall apart. He couldn't explain why, but he knew he was right.
Minato was still smiling calmly. He wrapped his free hand around Kakashi’s and brought him close. “Kakashi...”
KAKASHI-SENSEI!!!
“You’re a good man,” Minato assured him. "I'm watching over you, too. I hope you feel me."
"Minato, please," Kakashi begged, but Minato was suddenly so far away from him. Kakashi reached and reached, but couldn't grasp his teacher once more. Suddenly, there was a bright white light, and Kakashi was flying. No. Floating. And Minato stood there smiling at him, eyes soft, kind, loving. Behind him, Obito, and Rin.
"Go," Minato told him. "It's not time yet, Kakashi."
And then, Hatake Kakashi opened his eyes.
The bright lights belonged to the lights of the hospital, as did the white sky, which was the room's ceiling. Naruto's panicked voice kept yelling out his name, over and over again, and while there was considerable pain in his forehead, he didn't feel too much pain anywhere else.
"Naruto, shut up!" Sakura snapped, as she helped Kakashi sit up in the hospital bed. "Easy, sensei." she rubbed at his back.
"Kakashi-sensei," Naruto sighed in relief. "You really gave us a scare there! The enemy touched your forehead and you went out immediately, like a coma or something! Jeez! We got him in the end but we didn't know if you'd wake up."
"Sensei," Sakura murmured gently. "Are you in pain?"
Yes, Kakashi thought, his sensei's face and his friend's voice still so clear in his head. "No, Sakura. I imagine whatever you did worked very well." Sakura sighed in relief, and Naruto too, calmed down after hearing that. He locked eyes with Naruto and called for him, gently. "Naruto."
"Hm?"
Kakashi's heart ached with the weight of his dream. Part of him badly wanted to go back to that place, where everyone lived, where he had not failed Sasuke. "Your father would be very proud of you."
Naruto's eyes went wide for a brief moment before they softened and he smiled a grand smile at his teacher. "Thank you sensei. I bet he'd be proud of you too."
It was a sentence that he should have expected in some way, because Naruto was one of the kindest, most genuine people that Kakashi had ever met. Still, it made his heart swell, it helped the pain that came from waking up from such a nice dream, from such a nice place that his mind had carved out for himself.
He did not have his father, or Obito, or Minato, or Rin, it was true. But he had friends who loved him, his found family right in front of him, and Kakashi would have to remind himself, in these moments of pain, that it was enough. He could miss the people he loved while still appreciating those right in front of him.
Sakura sighed. "And all this on your birthday, sensei!"
Naruto gaped. "What? It's your birthday?! No one tells me anything!"
"Idiot! I told you two weeks ago!"
"Naruto," Kakashi leaned against the hospital bed headboard. "Sakura. Let's just sit here for a while, okay?"
Naruto narrowed his eyes. "That's a bit weird, sensei."
Kakashi laughed softly. "I just want to enjoy the company of the people close to me, on my birthday."
"Are you just saying that because you can't move much?"
Kakashi laughed again and looked hard and long at Naruto. Sometimes, Kakashi felt sad, looking at him, because he was reminded of his teacher. But mostly, including now, he felt joy. It was like having his teacher with him, even here, in a way. And Kakashi supposed that Minato was here with him, watching over them all. Naruto sat on the end of Kakashi's bed and began to ramble on about training, while Sakura interrupted him with scolding every so often, but Kakashi sat there and listened intently.
Hatake Kakashi was, above all else, a grateful man. And so he would not take the two people in front of him for granted.
Kakashi got comfortable, and watched over his students with pride.
I promise sensei, I'll keep them safe.

ships bias for iruka !
also from @writelives thank you besties <3
Tumblr media
i believe iruka deserves to be so fucking in love that it astounds even himself. i want him to learn that he has an ever larger capacity for love than he ever thought ( and he already knew he could love a lot ) , to surprise himself with how elated he can be in love. so i have a lot on here because he deserves it <3 also i write him as gay, so that is reflected in these ships!
iruka & kakashi
its about accidentally colliding over your shared care for a kid who desperately needs an adult in his life and both trying to be that person. its about butting heads, misunderstanding each other and the vastly different circumstances you come from, and working through that as you see you're both just trying to hold it together, to care for the kids around you and keep yourselves afloat, in this miserable, fucked up world. it's about finding solace in another person that you'd never expect to have anything in common with, but with time it turns natural and loving and safe. its about healing each other's wounds and working to heal your own in quiet, understanding company.
iruka & obito
this is a sleeper fave of mine. it can have a bunch of flavors. a post-canon "healing alongside someone who is patient and kind and warm" vibes. a missing-nin au where its a "the state hurts children and i will no longer be part of the cycle of violence, so lets stop this together" vibe. an au where obito raises naruto and it has a "falling for my son's kindergarten teacher because his smile is beautiful when he looks at me" vibe. i see two people who are determined to make a change, who see the world for how it harms the vulnerable and the young, and who finally see someone who understands that, who is committed to that change, in each other. also something something an uchiha & a senju kissing is very good to me ( i hc iruka is a descendant of hashirama )
iruka & gai
another secret menu ship. they are both such kind and openly emotional, loving people. iruka is a little more grounded, a little quieter than gai in how he shows affection, but i think gai's loudness, his unabashedness pulls iruka out of his shell. there is so much laughter and fondness between them, so much open affection it makes iruka want to cry with pure joy. gai is someone who's heart matches iruka's own; filled to the brim, overflowing. gai also cares so deeply for his students, and lets that love and care drive him, and iruka respects that so immensely. iruka trusts his team is in good hands from day one and respects gai as a teacher and a leader.
iruka & yamato/tenzo
i like this one because i feel like iruka is a little exasperated with the switch in squad leaders, because, god, he's only just decided kakashi can handle not getting naruto killed and now he has to adjust to this new person who is apparently his own age and he has never met before? and its sorta a "iruka hovers relentlessly during naruto's training because he's a little suspicious of yamato and they form an uneasy acquaintanceship" to finding they like each other's company, quite a bit. they're both a little softer, and i like ships where iruka, so full to the brim with emotion, helps bring that emotion out in his partner as well, which i think fits them well.
iruka & shisui
i have no supporting evidence for this. i just think they're neat and i hc them to be the same age so 👀 also my uchiha & senju kissing agenda once again.
bonus:
iruka & anyone who loves him and is gentle with his heart. it is so big yet so fragile just love him and hold him tenderly, please. i adore cross-over ships. i adore oc and canon ships. he is my most beloved and he deserves to be loved so much. thank you for coming to my ted talk.

Madara/Tobirama parallel part 1
Another day, another naruto meta bc im obsessed :
Madara and Hashirama are not true parallels to each other. Madara and Tobirama are.
Now I’m not cheapening Madara and Hashirama’s friendship (or romance, based on interpretation). They indeed loved each other very much, trusted each other (or at least Madara trusted Hashirama), and did agree that peace was a necessity. However, personality-wise, they differed a lot, even as children. Hashirama is the Naruto to Madara’s Sasuke, but Madara is (in Tobirama’s eyes at least) his Gaara, his Obito, his Nagato. Two sides of the same coin.
Let’s take a look at the 4th great war, when the Hokages are ressuscitated and learn about the IT.
This is what Hashirama thinks of it :
Tumblr media
Then Madara takes the time to explain himself to Tobirama, perhaps attempting to strengthen his own resolve, or perhaps to have someone of a similar mind agree and feel less alone and misunderstood (I could write a whole novel about Madara’s loneliness). And that’s what happens. Tobirama agrees to Madara’s views. He shares them. He, too, is disgusted that sacrifice is needed for peace. He, too, doesn’t think Hashirama’s village will bring peace (i’ll develop that in another post). He thinks the IT IS a good idea.
Tumblr media
He’s not agreeing here with Madara just to distract him. He can still distract him by arguing, and the thoughts that follow clearly prove that he isn’t deceiving Madara when he says he is right. He simply refuses to let Madara be the one who brings peace (through IT), bc he doesn’t trust Madara. It’s both pettiness (perhaps bc he blames him for “stealing” his brother) and fear. He is terrified of Madara, and not just because of his power. Why would a man who was Izuna’s equal (Izuna, who was also hailed as being close to Madara in power), and who has the god of shinobi as a brother, be afraid? He showed no fear when he saw Jinchuuriki Obito, who by Hashirama’s own words is more powerful than him.
Tobirama fears Madara because he sees himself in him. He is a ticking bomb, as likely to fall to despair and resort to extreme measures as Madara, and only his insane rules and his repression of his emotions and his over reliance on his brother’s moral compass keep him from becoming him. In that sense, he is hypocritical when he calls the Uchiha unpredictable.
Furthermore, isn’t the IT, in essence, similar to Edo Tensei? A jutsu that transcends time and death, in the hope of bringing loved ones gone too soon back to Madara/Tobirama? Tobirama, by creating the Edo Tensei, showed that his thought process was the same as Madara. He refused to accept reality. Not only that, but it’s implied in canon that Madara intimately knew Edo Tensei when it was being invented. Those two men sat together, at some point, despite the hate between them, and discussed the jutsu. Agreed on it, perhaps. But it didn’t work, and Tobirama shelved it (*cough* as quickly as Madara shelved Konoha *cough*).
Their core values are the same, and they are both deeply pessimistic about the world around them. Personality-wise, they’re extremely similar. Loud, ambitious, paranoid, distrustful, goofy, caring, misunderstood geniuses. Both won’t back down from their goals, no matter what. Even physically, they share some similarities, with their spiky hair and red eyes and delicate, pointy faces. I said it before and I’ll say it again : it is tragic that the war made these two enemies, because the potential for them to be great friends was right there.
Anyway, the Tobi = Tobirama theory we had going back in the days is very much possible in fanfic. Akatsuki!Tobirama was one bad day away from being canon and I won’t change my mind.

"Wait if I'm on fire How am I so deep in love? When I dream of dying I never feel so loved"
Final words of two fathers passing on their legacy to their beloved children, voices resounding into the minds of all too young to handle such pain teenagers. When it was discovered who was behind the master plans capable of holding off Obito and Madara Uchiha, the Ten Tailed Beast was mercilessly instructed to completely destroy the Intelligence Center in which Shikaku Nara and Inoichi Yamanaka have been tailoring each strategy brilliantly.
“You know what you have to do.” Shikaku’s voice boomed into your mind for one last time.
Breath choked out, scrambling to find an exit out of strained lungs in a series of unfortunate events, your left hand balled up in a tight fist, nails shedding crescent moons into the skin while the right one began the mission you were entrusted with. Jaw clenched with a loud crack, lips shut into a thin line that accompanied a pair of pulsating eyes with anger, pain and determination setting them ablaze, knowing it was the time to be the much needed voice of reason. Fingers intertwined with others rapidly, pressing into the backhand of a tensed and broken Shikamaru Nara.
“Shikamaru.” you said as flatly as possible, the last thing the boy needed being your sadness and pity. “It’s your turn.”
“As if.” Shikamaru spat, clenching his jaw and tightening his grip on your hand.
“Listen to me.” you followed with the gaze set on a specific person. “See that idiot?
“Yes.” Shikamaru replied as you both looked at Naruto Uzumaki.
“Great leaders do not wage wars aimlessly and make decisions on their own.” you said with a determined smile. “They rely on the guidance of the most trusted, most intelligent and capable of them all.”
“Y/N ..” Shikamaru sighed, eyes now trailing one of those powerful facial expressions of yours that always instilled in him the idea that he was, indeed, the best of them all.
“What do you say, Nara?” you asked, head lazily tilting to the side to meet his gaze with a smile. “Ready to show them what Konoha’s best strategist can do?”
Shikamaru has always asked himself how can you be of such pure confidence, running on a determination that most have lost by now, recharging through absorbing the hopes of others and passing it to him with a simple touch.
You had walked into his life with an arrogant smirk, a snide remark and a wink when the Raikage decided to send you to Konoha for war preparations. Gods, he could not stand you back then and neither did you. Always at each other’s throats under sharp replies and rude comments meant to graze the thick skins you both were possessing. Shikamaru could not understand for the life of him how your entire character cast a shadow of intrigue and attractiveness he found alluring. Days grew shorter, nights became longer hunched over desks, conversation flowing in with an ease he never had with anyone else. Tides shifted as your fingers would ghost over his arms or shoulders, becoming even more frequent when he would allow his hand to innocently press on the small of your back. Melodic laughs singing praises of a good time would jolt Shikamaru’s heart into erratic heartbeats whenever you found him amusing. He grew to care for you, to seek your company in days where he would simply want to lay with you on the abundant grass of Konoha, into the shadows of emerald green trees under the scorching sun. You knew how to mold on his laidback, quiet personality, peacefully laying on your side and watching him think deeply, zoning out into the depths of his intellect.
“I like you.” you said softly, bluntness recoiling off the tip of your tongue.
“What changed?” Shikamaru asked to test a confession with two sides of interpretation, him choosing to believe the most innocent rather than the one he truly wanted.
“I did.” you replied with a small frown, ripping off a bit of grass at the sudden realization of your confession, in between your fingers a Forget-me-not flower of a bright white. “Coming here was not what I had expected.”
“Hm.” Shikamaru hummed knowing the person you were when your form leaned against the doorframe of his office and the person you were now while laying next to him. “I like you too.”
“What changed?” you asked with a smirk that had the Nara boy turn his head to meet your playful gaze.
“I did.” Shikamaru replied by studying the softened features of your face. “Having you here was not what I had expected.”
The short memory flashed before his eyes as your hand slowly slid out of his. Shikamaru’s hand clenched around nothing, a shiver running down his spine, tensed back snapping violently under the pressure watching you take a step forward, ready to fight for a hope that seemed nowhere to be found. Forehead protector being secured around your right arm, you wrapped steady fingers into the pile of hair and swiftly pulled it up, tying it into a high ponytail as your muscles flexed under the strength exerted into the motion.
“Y/N.” Shikamaru spoke, hiding with an unmeasured skill the fear gripping his heart at the simple thought of how you might not see each other after all is said and done.
“I know.” you replied, head turning slightly to the right as you smiled melancholically over the shoulder. “Ino.”
“Yes.” Ino Yamanka followed as she snapped out of the suffocating pain of losing her father.
“Take care of him, will you?” you asked, looking forward for them to not see the tears bubbling into your eyes with the same burning fear Shikamaru carried.
“I will.” Ino nodded with a small smile, noticing Shikamaru’s lost gaze on you, lips parted as they held back unspoken words.
“Now ..” you raised the tonality of your voice, hands grasping the waist tightly. “I will meet you on the other side.”
“Just ..” Shikamaru said clenching his jaw lightly before calming himself down as he could not focus on the trying feelings in such dire moments. “.. be careful.”
In that moment, you managed to offer him what was needed to move forward, that specific laugh you only had when with him under Konoha’s bright blue sky. Thin threads of past and present intertwined with all of the pain, the determination you managed to instill in him. Losing sight of the girl that meant much more than Shikamaru would ever care to admit, his focus recharged as Shogi pieces moved across the battlefield. He was ready.
2 years later
Stillness entrapped your mind and body, blatant emotions stemmed out of nervousness and anticipation erupting at the very core of your being as you sat in the middle of the Hokage’s office.
“Lord Sixth.” you bowed your head slightly.
“I’m still Kakashi Hatake.” the silver haired chuckled at your ceremonious tonality.
“You are.” you raised an eyebrow. “But with a title.”
“Fair enough.” Kakashi sighed knowing he could never win with you. “The Raikage has detached you to our village indefinitely from what I have been informed.”
“That is right.” you nodded, placing a stack of folders on the heavy wooden desk. “We have managed to identify multiple cells formed from followers that preach and believe in Madara’s dream.”
“As we did.” Kakashi frowned, taking one of the folders and opening it flat in front of him.
“I have already dispatched multiple teams to search and monitor various followers until further notice.” you replied sternly. “They are awaiting the results of our cooperation in hopes of a plan to capture them.”
“Absolutely.” Kakashi nodded. “Do you mind waiting for my advisor? He is bringing over our files and we can proceed swiftly with developing a plan.”
“Not at all.” you said with a small smile. “Found a good advisor after the war?”
“Yes, I did.” Kakashi replied, eyeing you with a gaze that suddenly shifted the air which you found oddly suspicious.
“How is Naruto?” you followed by brushing off the weird energy brought upon the subject. “And the others?”
“I thought the war would calm him do ..” Kakashi began to speak but was interrupted by a knock. “Come in.”
“Man, these are heavy.” Shikamaru said completely fed up with all the carrying.
Kakashi watched your sudden change in demeanor as your lips parted slightly, a quiet sigh being breathed out sharply and imperceptible to the untrained ear, hands twitching once before gripping each other in the front to hide the obvious nervousness accompanied suddenly dilated pupils into the bright sun. He hid a knowing smile behind the infamous mask, well aware as much as others at what Shikamaru meant to you. Vice versa, the scene was heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time, Shikamaru dropping the files next to yours without realizing right away who he was standing next to. When his gaze slapped your cheeks, he stilled. Two years later and it was as if not even a single day brushed over your figure, as if time decided to spare you of aging and growing with an all too smooth skin, even more so than the last time he saw you. Shikamaru swallowed, maintaining his all too unbothered demeanor all the way through looking at you, hiding perfectly under a mask of boredom all the emotions that tried him.
“Advisor, ha?” you asked, not tearing your gaze from Kakashi that seemed to be awfully pleased with this encounter. “You did well.”
“Says the world’s most renowned Hunter-nin.” he replied, turning his eyes to Kakashi as well. “Five Madara cells in 48 hours.”
“Six.” you said with a smirk. “As of this morning.”
Kakashi chuckles, your capability of impressing him and everyone else not at all surprising. He knew since the moment you stepped into Konoha that you were a force of nature, of a surgical precision that put even him to shame and that is how you have grown on the, now, Sixth Hokage. The definition of a younger self Kakashi left behind was deeply imprinted into your whole being and posture.
“I will let you to it.” you said cutting to the suffocating silence sharply. “Call upon me once the files have been reviewed and we can start on a strategy.”
“Thank you.” Kakashi said, tapping lightly on the stack of folders.
“My pleasure, Lord Sixth.” you replied with a nod and a smile before turning to Shikamaru. “Nara.”
Turning on your heels swiftly, body and mind calmly guiding you out of the office, keeping up the confidence in your walk until the door closes shut. Uneven, shaky breaths erupted from the back of your lungs, erratic heartbeats plummeting into a definite flatline as your back rested against the nearby wall. It was not at all surprising that the boy plaguing your mind at day and dreams at night was here. However, you were not prepared to run into him so quickly and to be the Hokage’s Advisor, even with all the wits and intellect he possessed. Truth to be told, he was the only person that could break through the hardened, arrogant façade that graced your features. A single gaze and he had you almost crumbling under the scrutinizing eyes of the Hokage. Taking such a deep breath it had you dizzy, a most painful memory emerged from the deep fog you cast over that part of your life.
“I have to return.” you said leaning against the tree as the war had ended, everyone freed from the painful perfection of a reality injected by the Infinite Tsukuyomi.
“Now?” Shikamaru asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Yes.” you nodded. “I am not to stay back but to return to the village and assign order upon the Raikage’s return as per his instructions.”
“Understood.” Shikamaru replied knowing very well how the chain of command works, how at such a young age you were indispensable to your village and Raikage. “Well, then ..”
“I-I’m sorry.” you uttered, head shifting to the side as your gaze met a flower untouched by the scorching hate of the war, petals dancing with the short gust of wind that rushed through the woods in which you two stood hidden from the world.
Shikamaru wished for this moment to not be prolonged more than necessary as it was causing enough heartburn with your confession of return. He was well aware of what that entitled as the chances of seeing you again anytime soon were crushed under the weight of being parted indefinitely. You saw how his lazy posture tensed out of a sudden, arm tensing with his fingers digging into the material of the damaged flak vest. Breaking all bonds you have tied your emotions with, unlocking the mercilessly caged heart under a want that triumphed over anything else. Your hand slowly raised, elbow bent slightly in fear as you began to reach for him, shaking under the pressure. Fingers clasped the air before releasing it, hand clenching around nothing and, against your better judgment, you began pulling back under Shikamaru’s blank expression, his eyes entrapping yours.
Heartache and pain clutched at your heart seeing how you could not read him anymore, not the way you used and loved to, how he could impeccably block emotions as if it was a second nature. Gaze falling to the ground, steps shifted into the dirt and grass as they approached you lazily, the sound of a zipper running loose having you sigh. Warm fingers wrapped around the coldness of your wrist, pulled to meet a chest in which thumping heartbeats could be easily felt. Palm cupping your feverish cheek, a tingling sensation pinching it as it was pushed for your eyes to meet the ones you knew cannot be forgotten. Under the crown of the tree you chose to lean against, leaves shuffled from the careful touch of a chilly wind, shivers overcoming your tired body while getting lost into the gaze and touch of the boy you fell in love with. As if the Gods decided upon a parting gift for you, Shikamaru’s lips brushed against yours, warmth spilling against them and you melted without a second thought. Entrapping every sense that grounded you to reality, he captured your chapped lips into the kiss both have yearned for, succumbing to a harmonious dance of softness and want. Tears spilled out of your closed eyes, his thumbs carefully catching them so as to not waste the love that carried them. Shikamaru knew and could feel how much he meant for you as it mirrored perfectly the feelings he so adamantly tried to ignore for the longest time, plaguing a spacious mind trained on intelligence and seriousness. However, he could not deny you of such want, could not deny himself of such desire, with every movement of your lips against his, Shikamaru bolting shut the door that was once opened and led to his heart. Pulling himself back, you immediately saw the change in demeanor, gaze avoiding yours as the last finger trailed along your jaw until it left your face and presence. Steps being taken back, hands shoved into the pockets of dirty pants, Shikamaru left. You gasped for air, fingers running across the freshly kissed lips before turning in the opposite direction. A last glance at the bright white flower that bore witness to a silent confession, you realized it was a Forget-me-not. Wiping off the last of tears, you took the long road home.
“Oi, Y/N!” Naruto called as you walked on one of the busy streets of Konoha.
“Naruto?” your voice tangled in surprise as the blonde rushed up to you.
“Am I taller or you shorter?” he chuckled as both embraced each other as friends and comrades.
“Very funny.” you laughed pulling back as you always have been shorter, Naruto poking fun at how much aggressiveness could come out of such a small bundle of joy. “Haircut? Suits you well.”
“Really?” Naruto beamed. “I thought so too.”
“Such modesty from the hero of Konoha.” you replied amused.
“We’re all heroes.” he replied, swinging his arm around your shoulders. “Ramen? I want to hear everything you’ve been up to.”
“Please.” you sighed. “I’m starving.”
**
“How was even Naruto the first person to see you after two years?” Ino asked, annoyed while aggressively tapping her fingers against the kitchen table.
“Actually, Kakashi was the first person to see me.” you grinned, annoying her even more.
“Fine!” Ino threw her hands in the air. “The second.”
“Well, the second was actually ..” you said as the smile peeled off instantly. “.. Shikamaru.”
“Oh ..” Ino breathed, annoyance washing away seeing how your eyes were avoiding hers. “How did it go?”
Instead of replying, your gaze met hers, lower lip trembling along with the chin, nostrils flaring up in an attempt to control the wave of emotions. Ino tilted her head, hand working up the wooden surface until it met yours, fingers carefully caressing the skin as she wanted nothing more than to see you smile. Both have easily become the best of friends since you stepped into Konoha years ago, each other’s shoulder to cry on and be yourselves when together.
“I missed him so much.” your voice trembled while touching the lips with a memory of the past. “Standing in that office this morning, I felt as if I couldn’t breathe, as if everything stopped momentarily for me to have a minute next to him.”
“Oh, Y/N.” Ino whispered as tears filled her eyes. “You’re still ..”
“Yes.” you cut her off knowing what she was about to say. “I never stopped. I tried and I couldn’t.”
“Then there is something I have to tell you because I do not want you to find out from someplace else.” Ino said squeezing your hand and you readied yourself based on the look on her face. “Him and Temari are dating.”
Breath was sucked out of your lungs, lips trembling parted in a shock that did not come from the revelation as you always knew Temari had feelings for him, but from the pain that mercilessly tore into you. Squeezing Ino’s hand as hard as possible, you forced the tears to not spill, teeth dipping into the lower lip almost splitting it open. Brain conjured up the memory of that burning and deep kiss you two shared, replacing yourself with the blonde that made her way into his heart, knife twisting deeper into the wound that was left behind.
“Tell me everything.” you breathed, pushing back every single drop of emotion, tilting your head slightly with a cold emptiness into your eyes.
“Don’t.” Ino trapped your hand on the table. “Don’t do that. I know of your capabilities to shut down in the blink of an eye.”
“Ino.” you said flatly. “Tell me everything from the start."
**
Something is off.
Shikamaru replayed these words into his mind over and over again over the course of the past three weeks since you have returned to Konoha. Colors of mornings and nights were not reflecting into your eyes anymore, absorbing each ray of light into the deep end of that hollow void you gazed at him with. There was no longer warmth surrounding you, Shikamaru being met with a coldness so startling it had his blood freeze on numerous occasions. Long gone were the days where he could distract you with a snide remark or joke, all of the words encompassing your work relationship being nothing but professional. It seemed as if you were here but not existing, his presence no longer pulling out the enthralling smile you entrapped him forever.
He pondered many times if you were happy back home, if you found someone that gave you everything, that warmed your bed at night when the stars would bear witness to your peaceful sleep. Was there someone that has claimed your plump lips after he did? Shikamaru could vividly remember, as if it was yesterday and not a day later, the heartwarming, loving and painful kiss you both shared at the end of the war. Your sweet taste still lingered on his lips, feeling even the saltiness of the tears you shed for parting with him.
No, it could not be that. Those big, beautiful eyes that used to be bright were now claimed by complete emptiness and he thought for a moment that it was because of him. As much as Shikamaru wanted to be the man plaguing your dreams and existence, he could not bring himself to cause you such pain.
“Folder 2011.” you said flatly, arm stretching over the desk without even meeting his gaze.
“Here.” Shikamaru replied, purposefully brushing his hand against yours when he placed the leather file into your hand.
Absolutely no reaction, sucked into the coldness you so easily possessed now, whereas in the past a pale blush would warm your cheeks. He was not the person to pry into other people’s businesses but you were not a simple someone to him.
“Y/N.” Shikamaru said and your eyes shot up to him with a raised eyebrow. “Are you alright?”
“Yes.” the reply came almost too quickly which caused him to frown. “Why?”
“You seem different.” Shikamaru said while studying every inch of your face for any kind of sign.
“Coming here was not what I had expected.” you gave him an answer that forced Shikamaru back into a past that seemed too distant to be reached, the reply opening a memory in which you have said this before. “I have to take these to Kakashi.”
Without offering him the chance to say anything else, you made your way out of the office while Shikamaru had his head bowed over the files. He was well aware you knew about Temari since Ino so gracefully informed him about and, after this small interaction that was longer than any you both had since coming back, he knew that was the reason behind your entire demeanor. Your presence conflicted everything he represented, every decision taken so far based on the thinking that he will never see you again after that moment.
“Shikamaru.” Sai walked in, gaze roaming around the office. “Have you seen Y/N?”
“She is with Kakashi.” Shikamaru replied flatly.
“We are all going out tonight.” Sai followed, sensing some kind of tension in the air. “Tell Y/N as well.”
“Will do.” Shikamaru nodded and Sai left the room.
With the door closing, he leaned into the chair and took a deep breath. Temari was also coming tonight. For the first time in his life, Shikamaru wanted to go alone, to not have Temari before your eyes when you were the one supposed to be standing next to him. Man, it's going to be a drag.
**
“What do you mean you’re not coming?” Sakura snorted while rummaging through your closet.
“I still have a lot of cases to review.” you replied, leaning against the bed frame and letting your body relax into the pillows.
“Not tonight!” Ino said from the bathroom while a dress collided with your face.
“Naruto really wants you there.” Sakura said, pulling you off the bed. “This dress right now.”
“Why?” you asked confused while undressing the comfy clothes you’d adopted around the house. “He was over for dinner and didn’t say a word.”
“He always had a soft spot for you.” Sakura replied, raising an eyebrow at you as if you haven't been here for a month. “Also, the three of us talked and were kind of worried.”
“Can you not?” you asked irritatedly while stepping in front of the mirror to see what she picked out for you. “I don’t .. oh!”
In all honesty, you forgot you actually had nice clothes laying around inside the closet. Sakura picked a dark blue sundress with short sleeves that hugged your shoulders perfectly, a pale pink floral design that reminded you of her hair, its length stopping about a palm above your knees. The natural curls of your hair were flowing down your back, a few strands framing your face that was now contoured by a small smile.
“Forget-me-not.” you thought, fingers brushing over the floral pattern.
Naruto leaned against a light pole while waiting for the girls to show up, eyes glued on their friends through the large window of the restaurant. Kiba was in a heated argument with Lee while Ten Ten laughed at them, Choji putting in the order for food and first round of drinks. He was careful to tell them of Y/N’s favorite drink that also had enough alcohol as it was needed for tonight. The blonde’s bright, blue gaze stopped on the other two, Shikamaru having a smirk plastered on his face due to whatever Temari was whispering into his ear. Naruto appreciated the girl deeply but he could not shake the feeling of disrespect he believed Shikamaru exerted tonight. He knew Y/N would be here as everyone was raving about it and the boy could not understand for the life of him why Shikamaru would pull such a stunt. It wasn’t as if no one knew how he truly felt.
“Naruto!” Sakura called and he snapped out of the annoyance he felt.
“Sakura! Ino!” Naruto greeted as his smile spread even wider seeing you. “You came!”
“How couldn’t I?” you replied with a grin, stopping right in front of him. “Hearing you want me here meant that I could not break my favorite boy’s heart.”
“I-I’m your favorite?” Naruto stuttered slightly as a pale blush slapped his cheeks while Sakura and Ino were failing terribly at muffling their laughs.
“Of course you are!” you purred, touching his arm softly. “Am I not your favorite girl?”
“W-Well .. you a-are.” Naruto gulped as his entire body tensed at the touch.
“Don’t get any ideas Uzumaki.” you pulled back, raising an eyebrow at him amused.
“Y/N!” Naruto whined as the girls exploded in a full blown laugh by now. “Why do you always have to be so flirty?”
“You’re making it too easy.” you smiled with a shrug.
“Come here.” he chuckled, wrapping his arm around your shoulders. “Stay close to me tonight.”
“Why?” you frowned.
“Stop asking questions.” Ino groaned. “It’s for your own good.”
Brushing off Ino's confusing comment despite wanting to tell her that you are far from a damsel in distress, you wrapped an arm around Naruto's waist as he led you inside. The entire conversation from outside became obvious instantaneously when the first pair of eyes you met were Shikamaru's. It did not matter for a single moment that everyone else was booming with excitement around you, Ten Ten quickly expressed how glad she was that you were finally joining them for a night out after all the previous hard worked weeks. Through hugs and smiles, the both of you kept the eye contact locked, Shikamaru's arm resting around Temari's shoulders, her completely oblivious with the situation, quick to shake your hand.
"We met in the middle of the battle." Temari chuckled. "Not much time to chat then, right?"
"I think we managed to exchange names in between a Jutsu and a few White Zetsu set to kill us." you replied amused, the girl laughing as you found pride in the ability to be civil with someone that did nothing wrong by you, mere jealousy poisoning your heart.
Naruto did not leave your side for a single moment, arm shifting from around the waist to the shoulders and back again, everyone else present tonight catching on what was going on. Except Shikamaru. He was capable of analyzing strategy after strategy, coming up with the best ones, spending countless hours developing them but could not understand for the life of him what was the deal with you and Naruto being so cozy. Naruto was taken last time he checked, watching how he whispered things in your ear that brought out the same laugh and smile he so deeply missed, the same ones he used to pull out of you. Completely thrown off by the small gestures and touches exchanged in between the two of you, Shikamaru's focus shifted more and more as the night went by. Body and gestures set on Temari, senses and eyes set on you, the duplicity of the situation intertwined with yours the moment he caught your lingering gaze. Soft features melting with each movement of your eyes as you were trailing his arm around Temari's shoulders, how his thumb caressed over the article of clothing she was wearing. Sadness pooled into those beautiful eyes, the same one Shikamaru has witnessed the day you two parted ways.
"I need a bit of air." you said to Naruto, worried expression meeting your sad one, mind unable to wipe away the scene of your kiss from two years ago, constantly on repeat. "Don't worry. I'll be back."
"Take this." Naruto said, handing you his jacket. "In case you get colder outside."
"Thank you." you replied with a soft smile, lips placing a quick kiss on his cheek to which he grinned. "Don't get any ideas Uzumaki."
Naruto chuckled seeing how a bit of your usual personality crep back in, Sakura swiftly catching Ino by the wrist when she attempted to follow after you. Walking outside into the night, people passing back and forth towards their homes or to meet their friends as well, you inhaled the chilly air, a feeling of liberation and freedom hitting deeply. It was the moment when you could break down, turning right past the corner of the restaurant, hiding into the darkness of the small way made in between its wall and the fence. No one could see the tears streaming down the cheeks, their hot trails feeling as if burning right through the skin, hands trembling even with Naruto’s jacket covering your cold boy, heartbeats laced with pain carving dents into the tensed ribcage. Sitting in front of the boy you loved for the past three hours, forcing yourself to play the role of a happy girl while he held in his arms another, drained almost all the energy you have saved up in the past few weeks by barely existing, by barely acknowledging his presence in the same room as yours. Fingers fidgeting with the small purse you were carrying, opening the lid from a pack of cigarettes you had from three months ago when the last one was smoked. It was a disgusting, idiotic habit, picked up when you had no one else to talk to, when the loneliness suffocated every bit of your being while searching for a release for all the sadness, anger and frustration. Cigarette filter resting in between your teeth, hand rummaging through the small purse in search for a lighter that seems nowhere to be found.
“Here.” Shikamaru said, firm voice having you jump, teeth sinking into the filter so as to not drop the cigarette.
Metallic sound graced the silence, lighter flicking on with its burning flame as you leaned in, faces illuminated briefly by its light. Hearing the crackling sound at the tip of the cigarette, you pulled back and inhaled deeply, back hitting the concrete wall of the restaurant as Shikamaru extinguished the flame. Exhaling the poisonous smoke, you felt more at ease, his nerve wracking presence not so overwhelming as long as this vice kept pushing it away.
“I had no idea you were smoking.” Shikamaru said, leaning lazily against the fence in front of you.
“Occasionally.” you replied, gaze meeting the star abundant sky in hopes of the tears rolling back in. “This is my first in three months.”
“Stress?” Shikamaru asked, following your lead and lighting up one for himself.
“You could say so.” you answered, smoke being exhaled from two pairs of lungs and intertwining into the cold air.
“Things usually have a way of sorting themselves out.” Shikamaru said, watching you gazing upon the stars, wondering what was going on inside your head, if he was there at all.
“They do, don’t they?” you asked bitterly, lazily raising your hand for the index finger to point at him. “Prime example.”
“Me?” Shikamaru laughed quietly. “As if.”
Chin dropping downwards, your eyes fell from the sky and locked with his, all the tears accumulated into them from the tilting of your head spilled at once, cheeks stained with the undeniably pain that washed past the jawline, trickling down the neck and into the dress. The cigarette in between fingers was long gone, burning itself to the end before falling on the ground, Shikamaru letting a breathless sigh at the sight in front of him. It was the exact same as back then, the same pained expression with love and fear pooling into your eyes, the same one plaguing his mind, his dreams and entire existence. Pushing himself off the fence, the gap in between the two of you almost closed, his palms softly cupped your face, a small hiccup jumped out at the touch you missed, oh, so much. Thumbs catching hot tears, wiping them away, Shikamaru leaned into you, foreheads connecting with noses brushing ever so slightly and a small smile graced his lips.
“Don’t cry because of me.” Shikamaru said quietly, breathless even, pleading with your heart to stop hurting. “Please.”
“I’m missing you too much.” you whispered, shame and pain tugging at your entire being, knowing she was right on the other side of the wall, waiting for him. “I’m missing you even more when you’re right in front of me.”
“I’m right here.” Shikamaru replied, pressing a kiss on each eyelid, salty tears staining his burning lips.
“No, Shikamaru.” you sighed, unable to avert your gaze. “You’re not.”
Pulling back slightly, still holding your beautiful face into his palms, Shikamaru’s head tilted a bit at your words, catching right away the meaning behind them as he had the exact same feelings. He had missed you terribly the moment his lips left yours two years ago, missed you even more when sitting at the same desk, so incredibly close, yet so incredibly far. Against every bit of sound judgment that resounded in his mind, against every single thought that reminded him who was the person he brought here tonight, Shikamaru brushed his lips against yours, both shivering slightly at the soft feeling. The yearning he felt was overcoming anything else, irrationality splitting his mind in half the moment lips captured each other into the heart melting kiss no one was able to offer him after you. Arms sneaking upwards, wrapping around Shikamaru’s neck, palm pressing on its back, two bodies flushed against each other. Hesitance and softness perished under his tongue brushing over your lower lip, opening up for the only boy that never had to ask for it, hunger and fervor taking away the innocence of the last 20 minutes. Pulling back slightly, not giving enough time for rational thoughts to come in between, Shikamaru’s hands grabbed your waist tightly as he pushed you upwards against the wall, legs wrapping around the body you wanted for yourself. One arm locked around your waist, the other went behind the neck, fingers tangled into curls as he pulled you back into the damned kiss that had your soul humming and heart aching. Intensity brought fervor, pain brought love while yearning brought passion, dress sliding upwards from the position, clothed sex coming in direct contact with Shikamaru’s hard length, throbbing furiously into the pants that now felt tighter than ever. A groan was pushed into your mouth as you sighed in complete pleasure, nails digging into the material of his shirt. In between tongues exploring each other, hands burning to grab, squeeze and pull, Shikamaru pushed himself harder into you, a lewd moan escaping from in between your puffy lips. As if the Gods knew what to do, Temari flashed before both of your eyes, perfect timing slicing abruptly two intertwined bodies trying to make up for the lost time. Pulling back at the same time, thoughts in complete sync, your feet hit the ground as Shikamaru took a single step back, wide eyes and unspoken words carried away by the sudden brush of wind meant to cool the both of you. Realizing what he was about to do, being the exact opposite of the man he considered himself to be, Shikamaru fled without a single word to be addressed and your back hit the wall. Figure turning left past the corner, the merciless tears returned as another person stepped into the small alleyway.
“Leave me alone this time, please.” you begged without even looking.
“Let me take you home?” Naruto asked softly, walking in front of you and zipping up the jacket as the gusts of wind intensified.
“Mhm.” you hummed, arm wrapping around your shoulders, Ino patiently waiting for the two of you. “You don’t have to come.”
“Sakura can handle the rest.” Ino smiled, stepping on the other side to take your hand into hers. “She will come over later.”
“Are you alright?” Naruto asked while looking down at you, a small smile curving his lips enough to bring one out of you as well.
“No.” you sighed with a shrug. “I can honestly admit that I am far from alright.”
1 weeks later
“You didn’t sign them?” Sakura frowned, eyes scanning for the third time the pages sent over by Kakashi.
“I will.” you replied, wrapping even tighter the blanket around you.
“Will you?” she followed with sadness. “Or are you going back to Kumogakure?”
No reply came out, no matter how much you wanted to offer her one, to reassure Sakura that it was not as it seemed despite contemplating leaving the village. Kakashi offered you permanent residence in Konoha as a Kumogakure attaché, an opportunity you imagined in a certain way that might never come. You truly loved it, friends that were more like family, something you did not have back home besides your job. Konoha became your true home but you kept wondering if they were enough to stay. Glancing at the papers that have been on the coffee table for the past four days, tears pricked at your eyes yet again.
“Do you mind if we see each other tomorrow?” you rasped, letting your body drop into the couch.
“Not at all.” Sakura replied with a soft smile, squeezing at your ankle lightly. “Please eat?”
“I promise.” you nodded, teeth biting into the plush blanket.
Sakura’s bare feet slapped against the wooden floor until they slipped into the ninja sandals in the hallway, door opening and closing shortly thereafter. Rain mercilessly banged against the windows, dark gray clouds piling and piling, matching the shade you thought your heart was now of. Even if tears pricked at your eyes, they were not falling anymore as the numbness of past week’s events suffocated any need of feeling anything. How could you fool yourself into thinking that you’d come back into Shikamaru’s life and pull him away from everything that he has built in the past two years? Who did you think you were to view yourself so special?
Any attempt to hurt yourself even further was abruptly stopped by a couple of knocks against the door. Contemplating if you should ignore them or not, they grew in intensity and number, wrapped in a blanket body lazily dragging itself off the couch. Bare feet barely able to sustain the emotional tiredness you were feeling, fingers grabbed the doorknob, twisted and pulled. Figure drenched completely in rain, clothes so full of water the droplets were barely absorbed into them, uneven breathing straining the chest as the familiar dark gaze set on yours in pain. Forearms raised, pressed against the doorframe, body leaning in slightly at the sight of you.
“S-S-Shikamaru ..” you whispered, shock overcoming all other senses as the blanket dropped off your body
“I broke up with her.” Shikamaru rasped, eyes searching for something, anything into yours.
“Why?” you asked confused, not speaking or seeing each other after what had happened having you under the impression that nothing had changed.
“You know exactly why.” he replied, lips parting in surprise hearing him, allowing yourself to believe it without a second thought.
Darting forward, lips crashed into each other, melting away all the pain you had felt since coming back, since last week, replacing everything with pure love. Shikamaru pulled you up in a split second, kicking the door shut, both not caring for a single second that all the rain from his clothes was spilling on the floor, legs wrapped tightly around his waist, fearing he might disappear again, as his hands squeezed at the flesh of your thighs. Hands exploring with hunger as they went up his shoulders, slipping under the shirt on his back before dipping into the wet flesh.
“End of the hallway.” you mumbled against his lips, pushing off the flak vest to fall on the floor.
“Impatient.” Shikamaru clicked his tongue, a smirk tugging at the lips, leg pushing open the door to the bedroom.
Kiss breaking as you whimpered at the loss of his lips, feet touching the ground yet again, you both suddenly felt the hit of what was about to happen, of where you were standing. Face to face, bodies close enough to fit only a coin in between, bed only three steps away behind you, the hunger suddenly dissipated being replaced by sexual tension and uneven breathing, a deep conversation taking place between two pair of eyes yet to say to each other how they truly felt. Shikamaru was simply making sure that this is what you wanted, after the entire ordeal he wouldn’t be able to blame you if you suddenly stopped it.
Without losing eye contact, fingers grabbed the hem of Shikamaru’s shirt, pushing it upwards as your lips met his chest, peppering hot kisses as it fell off his lean body before he could softly grab your chin, tilting it slightly wanting to taste you once again. Tame, yet burning, kisses electrified your body from head to toe, melting with each passing second, his lips traveling slowly along the corner of your mouth, brushing the jawline before attaching themselves to the sensitive skin on your neck. A quiet moan filled the silence, knowing that in the morning there will be an obvious love bite for everyone to see, fingers expertly undoing his pants, falling to the floor instantly. Before you could get a hold of what was hiding behind the material confinement, Shikamaru spun you around, shirt flying off your body with one swift movement that took you by complete surprise, forgetting for a second that, he too, had experience by now. Eyeing the bed, a knot formed into your stomach, a wave of sudden self-consciousness hitting you at the image of him seeing you naked for the first time. Warm breath fanned over your shoulders, one arm sneaking around your lower body, warm palm resting on your belly, a finger tracing along the spine, the simple touch sending shivers down your back, bumping against the bra clasp. Without even realizing, it was undone, slowly falling down your shoulders and arms, breasts spilling out of their confinement as it fell to the floor along with the shorts you forgot you even had on, too lost into the moment and touches to care. Nipples perked up at the contact of Shikamaru’s throbbing length in between your ass cheeks, index and middle fingers trapping one of the hardened buds in between them, pulling softly, a groan enveloped in a broken moan bouncing off the walls as your back arched, pushing yourself to feel him even more, low growl evading the usually composed boy. The other hand slid down the belly, stopping right at the hem of your panties, waiting patiently, and your head fell on his shoulders.
“It’s alright, Shika.” you said with a small smile, hand wrapping around his wrist and guiding him down to your wet heat.
Fingers sliding in between your folds, Shikamaru’s breath hitched, an ego boost thundering inside feeling how wet you were for him, pooling into his palm as he cupped your sex, a groan and breathy moan escaping at the same time, dacing into the air. Breath picking up the pace as his fingers explored, brushing right past the entrance and you pushed yourself against it impatiently. Shikamaru chuckled at the movement, pushing himself into you while his thumb attended to the bundle of nerves hidden in between the soft folds.
“P-please ..” you mewled pathetically, wanting to feel him now more than ever.
“I know what you need.” Shikamaru whispered against your ear, a loud moan stumbling out of your throat as a finger slipped inside your needy cunt.
Warm, wet, attention craving, gummy walls welcomed him, Shikamaru humming at the feeling of your pussy clenching around his finger, slowly dragging it up and down to allow its adjustment. Wetness spilled out, dripping down his hand and on the floor, arm wrapping around your waist to stop you from squirming, both grinding against each other. Capturing your lips into a sloppy kiss over the shoulder, the second finger went in, teeth sinking into his lower lip at the feeling. The tightness of your pussy was mind numbing, Shikamaru curving up his fingers inside, thumb circling on the clit with fervor, picking up the pace as you desperately craved friction, ass pushing and griding against his painfully throbbing cock, open mouth moans spilling into his own, his gaze solely set on your face, memorizing every eyebrow twitch, every crease around the eyes, every pleasured expression you were blessing him with. Mind filling up with only the image of his cock deeply buried inside of you, Shikamaru lost control for a moment, mercilessly pounding your dripping pussy with his fingers, at each feel of the swollen spot pushing into it slightly while, at the same time, thumb was pressing on the clit, high-pitched moans crashing against the walls every single time. He wanted to take it slow with you but the need of losing himself into you was greater than anything else.
“I-I’m ..” you moaned again, coil tightening rapidly into the stomach, the squelching sounds of your pussy being handled by him pushing you towards the edge
“I know, baby.” Shikamaru’s husky voice filling you up with goosebumps. “Cum for me.”
Teeth grazing softly your jaw, cock grinding against you, fingers pulling out and pushing back in your wetness, pressed the coil to the breaking point, Shikamaru’s plea to cum for him having your walls clench again and again until the entirety of your body snapped in his arms. Orgasm crashing violently into you, legs trembling as Shikamaru held your body flushed against his to not lose balance, you let out the most high-pitched moan you have ever heard coming out. Chest heaving, head falling back on his shoulder as you felt his fingers slowing down, riding the high, small and quiet moans still rolling off your lips.
“We’re not done yet.” Shikamaru smirked, a mischievous tinge into his dark eyes as he slowly directed you towards the bed.
Turning around, your eyes met his, legs hitting the edge before you fell backwards, all sprawled up for him to see. Deep blush covering your cheeks, gaze averting his, you felt the bed dipping under you, Shikamaru propping himself above your body.
“You are beautiful.” he whispered, stealing your lips yet again into that kiss that was taking your mind away.
“I-I ..” you stuttered, biting on your inner cheek.
“Tell me.” Shikamaru said, smiling softly seeing so much vulnerability into such a strong girl.
“I .. want ..” you swallowed hard, courage pushing your gaze to meet his. “.. you.”
“After everything ..” Shikamaru replied, thumb brushing along your lower lip. “.. are you sure?”
“More than ever.” you breathed, a finger hooking into the waistband of his boxers. “Please make me yours.”
Pushing off his body the last piece of clothing and freeing himself completely, you swallowed the pool of water gathered into your mouth, cock slapping against the pelvis deliciously and you licked your lips. Wetness pooled once again in between your legs, quickly dripping down the thighs as Shikamaru watched with a smirk how you were rubbing them together looking only for a fraction of the friction only he was capable of offering you. Both moving up into the bed, head hitting the pillow, you spread your legs inviting him in between them and inside your needy pussy. Towering over you, Shikamaru propped himself on one forearm, the other hand busy cupping your cheek while ravishing your puffy lips, the feeling of his cock poking at your entrance having you immediately shiver under him. Hand moving away from your face, eyes spilling into each other’s, Shikamaru wrapped it around his painfully throbbing length, rubbing it in between the wetness of your appetizing folds, lubricating himself with your arousal. Positioning the tip of his cock against the entrance, your hands rested on his back as legs wrapped tightly around his waist. Shikamaru’s hand went to grab at your thigh as he slowly pushed himself in, the tightness of your pussy having him groan as he went inch by inch, suffocating his cock despite prepping you beforehand. Nails digging into the skin of his back, you gasped feeling him pushing along your gummy walls, a slight burn and pleasure mixing together as you felt yourself being stretched out. Tightening his grip on your thigh, Shikamaru bottomed in with a low growl as you let out a shuddered breath, slack jaw in pleasure feeling how his cock twitched from your tightness and warmth.
Lowering himself, lips captured the others, tongues slipping in the moment his hips started to languidly roll against you. Slowly adjusting to the sizable member, Shikamaru quickly noticed how your body relaxed and melted, picking up the pace with which his cock buried itself into your needy cunt, moans matching in intensity. You were starting to lose any train of thought or awareness, nails dipping and clawing at his back as the most delicious cock you have ever taken was pounding into you as if there was no tomorrow. Every single touch he inflicted upon you was soft, caring and full of love adjoining the loud slaps of skin on skin as he buried himself into you as deep as possible. Despite being unable to utter anything besides lewd moans accompanied by the vulgar squelching of your pussy, despite Shikamaru losing himself entirely into you, both kept each other’s gaze as if afraid one of you was going to disappear. You could now see clearly that what you had thought was lost, was still there even greater than before. Pulling him into a deep, passionate kiss, the coil in your stomach returned, pussy clenching desperately around his cock, Shikamaru bringing his hand from your thigh to rub that incredible bundle of nerves that was capable of pulling out the most beautiful sounds you were going to make only for him from now on. The tightness of your pussy along with the suffocating clenches had him step on the edge as well.
“Shika, I’m ..” you moaned into his mouth, feeling how your nails, this time, had scratched deeper than wanted, a hiss leaving him.
“Cum with me, baby.” he said breathlessly, pulling almost out only to bury himself into you as deeply as possible.
Back arching at his movement, Shikamaru went in and did it again, cock deeply sheathed into your tight pussy. Feeling your walls clenching even tighter than before, he gave you one deep thrust before you completely unraveled under him, body shaking from head to toe as he reveled into the wave of moans rumbling out of your throat, eyes rolling into the back of your head. Seeing how you were slowly coming down from the high, Shikamaru kept your lips locked with his as he let a few more thrusts become a mind numbing orgasm not experienced with anyone before at this level, pulling out at the very last second. Dropping in the bed, next to you, both panting with smiles tugging at your lips, Shikamaru wrapped his arms around your body, pulling both closer than ever before. Stealing a long and deep kiss from your lips, you curved up in a ball into his chest, heartbeats soothing the tiredness felt at the moment, strong arms tightening their hold around you as if afraid to not leave again.
“I love you.” you whispered, placing a soft kiss on his chest.
“What changed?” Shikamaru asked, a smile gracing his lips, cheeks resting on top of your head.
“I did.” you replied with a grin, remembering how you already had this conversation and how fitting it was. “Coming back here was not what I had expected.”
“Hm.” Shikamaru hummed, fingers rubbing circles on the small of your back. “I love you too.”
“What changed?” you asked, head tilting upwards to meet his gaze.
“I did.” Shikamaru replied lowering himself slightly, lips capturing yours before delivering the final line of the conversation that started it all. “Having you back here was not what I had expected.”

The Woman on Ice ft. Obito Uchiha
Tumblr media
Obito Uchiha resided in the outskirts of Konoha. For several years, the man chose to keep his presence out of the village he once lived in.
Now, to many of the villagers, this decision was smart and it made everyone comfortable.
Not a single soul inside of the Hidden Leaf could even look Obito in the eyes. Many had hatred and discomfort for the man who caused chaos and destruction to occur over the village. He was also responsible for the deaths of many great shinobi, including the Fourth Hokage.
When the Fourth Great Ninja War ended, there was a lot of distress as to what the village should do with someone like Obito. The people expressed that they weren’t exactly the most comfortable with somebody like him wandering the streets freely. He was a criminal, he could repeat those offenses and possibly cause even more damage than before. The man was considered to be a “threat” to everyone around him, and that he couldn’t be trusted.
Kakashi, being the hokage, decided that he didn’t want his childhood friend to meet his demise. Despite the uproar from the townspeople, he stuck with that decision to have Obito live a quiet life in the forest near the village. Nobody was allowed to be around that area unless authorized by Kakashi himself, and only he knew that location.
Kakashi was well aware that certain shinobi or villagers could hunt down Obito to kill him, so he put in a few precautions. There were several Anbu Black Ops stationed around the forest to prevent anyone from slipping in. It also gave Kakashi eyes on Obito, so, if something suspicious was taking place, he could take care of it.
Obito was extremely relieved when he found out he was going to live, but the idea of being closed off from others made his once warm heart feel cold. The only person he could make contact with was Kakashi, and that was it. It was just him and his isolated cabin in the forest.
At first, adjusting to this new life was hard. Obito had always been a social person. He loved people, and he was an extroverted person prior to all of the events in his life. He knew those days of interaction were now gone, and he was forced to stay locked up inside of a cabin for the rest of his days.
Occasionally, Kakashi would come by to chat with him, but those days were rare. Kakashi was hokage, and he didn’t have all the time in the world to come and talk to his war criminal childhood friend. Obito was lucky that anybody wanted to speak to him.
Being alone for as long as he has, Obito had a lot of time to think about what he’s done. The guilt from his actions constantly plagued him. It kept him awake at night, and he struggled to get a good nights rest. There were days where he questioned why a man like him was left alive. He felt as if he deserved death. He was responsible for many, so why should he get to live?
The thing that haunted him the most was the faces of the villagers who saw him for the first time after the war. The pure disgust and hatred their faces displayed was like a punch in the gut. He could hear the whispers, the mothers hiding their children, he truly felt like a monster.
There was also backlash from the other shinobi living in the village. They practically scolded Kakashi for his decision to keep him alive. Most of them disagreed, and they tried convincing Kakashi to think about the choice a little more thoroughly. In the end, Kakashi dismissed them and said his decision was final.
Obito knew those men were right. How could he keep someone like him alive? He should have died during that war. He didn’t deserve to live a quiet life while there are others suffering from the death of their loved ones; deaths that he caused.
As the months passed, Obito hardly left his cabin unless absolutely necessary. He didn’t like speaking with other people. In fact, he found it difficult to even interact with others. It took so much energy from him, and he pretty much lost any social skills he used to have. The only person he was comfortable speaking with was Kakashi, and that was it.
Sometimes the Anbu could come to speak with him. They usually questioned what he was up to, or if he was in need of anything. Obito hated those conversations, and he often became very grouchy whenever they stayed for too long. All he wanted was to wallow in his guilt, alone.
The days eventually grew shorter. The once long sunny days were now cloudy and cold. The sun hardly coming out, leaving a dreary feeling in the forest. It also opened the doors for sorrowful thoughts. Obito disliked winter, it made him irritable and he could hardly handle his emotions. He felt worse than he already did.
Those winter days felt like they lasted forever, but it was only the beginning.
-
The sun basking through the curtains made Obito look up from the spot he was sitting in. It was the first time he had seen the sun in weeks, and he was a bit surprised. The winter had been cold and long, so seeing the sun felt like a small bit of relief.
He hated how cold his cabin could get sometimes. Though the dark oak wood was thick, the cracks often let the chilly winter breeze slip inside. The only thing that would warm his cabin was the small fire place near the window. It was annoying though, because he had to leave to go and grab firewood.
The other annoying part of that was dealing with the damn Anbu Black Ops. Whenever Obito left his cabin, they’d always trail behind him like he was some kind of jailed inmate. Though, Obito could understand the men and their concerns.
With the sun being out, Obito figured he’d go and take a nice stroll through the forest. Although he hated having to leave the confines of his cabin, he liked being in nature. The calmness of the breeze and the smell of fresh air really put his bad thoughts at ease. He started doing it after he had a really bad episode, and since then it’s really helped him.
Standing up, Obito stretched out his muscles, causing a few of his joints to crack from sitting in his bed for a while. He figured he’d go on a small walk, because he didn’t want to attract attention from the Anbu. Any suspicious activity could cause everything to change for Obito, and he’d rather remain under the radar than in the sights of everyone.
He grabbed his jet-black coat off of the hanger which hung against his wall. The Uchiha crest was stitched into the material. He briefly remembered when Kakashi brought it for him a couple weeks before it got bitter cold outside.
The warmth of the jacket enveloped his body once he zipped it up. Obito turned to head towards his front door. He could feel the cool air from behind it as he placed his hand on the metal door knob. He silently hoped there wasn’t any ice. There was an occasion where he almost slid and he came close to hitting the ground, but he was lucky enough to stop it before he actually did some major damage.
Opening the front door, his eyes squinted from the bright rays of the sun. It was a beautiful day. The bright blue sky was cloudless, and he could hear the sound of birds tweeting in the distance. It had been a while since there was a day this perfect. He thought to himself that he could maybe spend a little longer outside than usual.
He shut the door behind him, stepping onto the dirt path that led into multiple directions. Obito had been in almost every direction possible. He wondered where to go that day.
As he walked down the path, he turned to the right and began to head east. The light breeze caused the cool air to nip at his cheeks and nose. It wasn’t too chilly, but it was enough for him to place his hands into his pockets to prevent them from getting too cold. The sun also helped him in staying warm, considering the black fabric of his jacket absorbed the sunlight.
His walk was quite pleasant. There wasn’t any distracting noise, the weather was nice, it was just Obito and his thoughts. He enjoyed the peace he had sometimes.
Obito stepped down a path that led to a lake that was near his cabin. He often came to it during the summer for a swim, or to watch the calm waters. Believe it or not, but he liked to come there during the night to think about the things going on in his life. He always loved the way the moonlight would sparkle on the water.
He stepped on a few pieces of now broken ice shards that laid on the ground beneath his feet. He knew he was getting close, because there was an increase in the amount of ice on the ground. The air also grew colder and crisp. It was always colder near the lake, and that’s one of the reasons why he liked coming to it during the summer. If it was too hot, then he’d stay by the lake until it cooled down outside.
His ears suddenly perked when he heard a sound coming from the right side. He knew once he turned the corner, the lake would be right there. The sound he heard sounded like scratching. Almost like someone was taking a blade and scratching at the surface of something. He hadn’t heard a sound like that before, and it made him feel defensive. Was somebody following him?
At first, Obito wondered if it was one of the Anbu trailing him. They usually followed him whenever he left the cabin, but he wasn’t sure. Why would someone from the Anbu be making such noises? Obito learned from a young age that the Anbu were skilled ninja that are extremely hard to see with the naked eye. They’re stealthy and sneaky, so why make their position known?
The other thought that crossed his mind was what if somebody had snuck into the forest to find him? Obito knew many people wanted him dead. There were even a few villagers caught one night trying to sneak into his cabin. What if that’s what’s happening?
The sound suddenly stopped for a couple of seconds. Obito furrowed his eyebrows, looking around the area before him to see if someone was hiding in the trees. Instinctively, his sharingan activated, the crimson color taking over his once dark eyeball.
There was definitely a presence nearby, and it was coming directly from the lake.
Obito walked in the direction of the lake. He kept himself hidden just in case the person was trying to get to him. He was skilled, probably more skilled than most shinobi, so he knew what he was doing.
One thing that Obito was always told was to never engage with people who are trying to pursue him. Kakashi warned him of that multiple times, and, for a while, Obito followed suit in that. The Anbu usually took care of any unwanted guests, but Obito was by himself. He didn’t sense any of the Anbu, so he had to take care of this if he had to. He didn’t care about the consequences.
Obito ran behind a tree. It stood directly in front of the now frozen body of water. The sunlight beamed over the ice covered lake, causing it to be brighter than it actually was. It was hard to see, but with his sharingan, Obito could see what was going on.
That same scratching noise started playing again.
Obito knew it was a person. It couldn’t have been an animal making those kinds of noises. He could practically sense the persons movements. He just wasn’t sure on how to approach the situation. Another thing he was wondering was why wasn’t this person detected? The Anbu can sense anybody coming in, so why wasn’t the person taken out yet? Nobody was allowed in or out except Kakashi.
He decided to shift around so he was now crouching behind a shrub. The leaves hid him so he wouldn’t be seen by whoever was out on the lake. Obito knew how to keep himself hidden, so he was prepared to disappear if he had to.
Obito squinted through the openings between the leaves. He could see somebody on the ice. He was right, it was a person, but they were doing something weird on the frozen lake.
The scratching noise he was hearing was from someone gliding against the ice. Obito noticed the person was wearing these odd looking shoes on their feet. They covered the base of their feet, but on the sole there was some kind of sharp object carving against the ice. They also moved incredibly fast, and it was hard for Obito to keep his eyes on them.
Was it some kind of ritual? Were they signaling for someone? He didn’t know what to do.
Obito’s eyes grew slightly wide when he finally saw the persons face. They were clearly a female. They were wearing a tight body suit which was the color of jade. She also wore no bottoms, so her legs were exposed to the outside. Obito wondered how someone like you was not freezing.
He practically jumped when he saw you jump into the air and land perfectly fine on the ice. You were so confident with your movements. He couldn’t detect a single flaw with the way you moved. You were also on ice. Obito could barely keep himself up whenever he used to try and walk on it, but you did it with such ease.
You also didn’t have a chakra signature, which meant you weren’t a shinobi. Obito wondered how the hell you did that without falling.
Meanwhile, you were skating against the ice before you.
You were beyond ecstatic to have been able to find a quiet place to practice your moves. You had spent a long time training yourself to make it to this competition, and you were so excited to finally live it. Living your dreams as a pro figure skater was all you wanted.
So, you decided to practice as much as you could. You snuck away from your teammates and went to find a lake to practice on. You ended up stumbling upon this one after searching for a while. It was perfect, it had the space, the ice was thick enough, and it was a great place for you to focus.
The reason why you were this far from home was because you had a figure skating competition in the Hidden Leaf Village. You had heard many stories about the figure skaters there, and you were ready to show them what you were all about. It also gave you the chance to possibly gain a spot on the team if you tried hard enough, so you wanted to do your absolute best.
Pausing in your movements, you took a second to recover from the huge amount of moving you just did. It was only the middle of the day, so you had to get enough training as possible in before the competition which was in two days.
You took a deep breath before moving your feet against the ice again. This time you wanted to work on your twirls. You did them fairly well, but you figured you’d put in the work for that aspect too. Everything needed to be perfect for the competition.
As you moved, you stuck out your right leg to get yourself ready to spin. The ice covered your blade, and some of it touched your calves. It was cold, but you didn’t care. You had been used to the chilly weather since you were a child.
You were about to get into position to spin, but your movements came to a halt when you heard the sound of a branch snap.
Panicking, you tried to stop your legs, but, unfortunately, you ended up losing your balance and hitting the ice. You also felt the sudden ache of your ankle taking over you, which caused you to hiss in pain. You faced worse injuries, but this really hurt. Your bottom also felt sore from hitting the ice really hard.
You tried to lift yourself, but your ankle was attacked with pain. You couldn’t get yourself up at all, and panic began to set in.
You were out here by yourself, and there probably wasn’t a single person out there for miles.
Behind the bush, Obito had watched you hit the ground. He felt like genuine shit because he was the reason why you fell. He had accidentally moved, and he stepped on a tree branch near his foot. The fall you took looked like it hurt, and you weren’t getting up either. He wasn’t sure what to do.
He could help you, but he wasn’t sure what might happen with the Anbu. He also risked looking like a creep, and he didn’t want to make it seem like he was watching you for some weird perv reasons.
You weren’t exactly his problem. He could easily walk away and leave you there, but something was holding him back from leaving. You were clearly injured, what if someone from the Anbu arrived and thought he hurt you? He already had a bad enough reputation, leaving you there would cause more harm than good. He also would want someone to do the same for him.
Obito let out air through his mouth before standing up, revealing himself. You weren’t that far on the ice. He could easily get to you, and bring you to safety.
You pressed your cold fingertips against your now sore ankle. The muscles were swelling, and you were clearly hurt. This was devastating for you. Your competition was in two days, and being hurt would automatically disqualify you from the show. Fuck, you were so pissed at yourself right now. You shouldn’t have gone out by yourself.
Your head snapped towards the sound of the ice cracking near the edge of the lake. Your eyes landed on someone, more specifically, a man standing before you. He looked like he was approaching you, and he seemed hesitant.
You wondered if he was watching you this entire time. Was he some kind of bandit or something? You didn’t know these woods very well, and you thought it was empty. You were practically helpless sitting there on the ice like that. You also didn’t have much to defend yourself with, unless you beat him to death with your ice skates.
“Who are you? What are you doing here?” you swallowed thickly after you spoke. The man before you paused in his movements once your voice reached his ears. You were really hoping you wouldn’t die today.
Obito wasn’t sure how to make himself not seem like a threat. He didn’t want to hurt you. If anything, he wanted to help you out of this situation.
“I’m not going to hurt you! I promise..” he called back, “I have some medical supplies back in my cabin if you’d like to come with me!”
Your eyes narrowed at him. You didn’t know what to do. For one, he could be a genuine man who wants to help you. Maybe he was concerned and he didn’t want to harm you. You had met a few people like that before, and you often reminded yourself to never think pessimistically about people who are offering to help you.
But, there was the possibility that this man was planning to kill you. You were a woman alone by herself in the forest. It didn’t seem like there was anyone around for miles, so he could easily discard your body and that’d be lights out for you. Either of the choices you had were difficult, and you had to make a decision fast.
You shifted around on the ice, causing you to hiss in pain again. “How do I know you’re not going to kill me?!” you chewed on the inside of your cheek from the anxiety you were having.
Obito couldn’t exactly tell you that he could kill you if he really wanted to. He was extremely skilled as a shinobi. If he really wanted to do something bad, he would have made the ice crack and let you drown or freeze in the chilly water. He didn’t have a bad bone in his body for someone he didn’t know.
He sighed, the breath from his mouth fading into smoke. “You’re a complete stranger, I should be asking you why you’re in the woods that I live in. I could have easily killed you for trespassing, but I didn’t. That’s not the kind of person I am,” he looked at you with sincerity coming from his voice. Deep down, he hoped that you’d believe that. It wasn’t like he had much time, because the Anbu could come looking at any moment.
You started to shiver on the freezing ice. The wind was also starting to pick up, and you knew you couldn’t get out of this situation. You were also shocked to find out that he lived in these woods. They were so secluded and empty. It made you wonder why someone would live so far from civilization.
Feeling as if you had no choice, you turned your body to face him. “Okay! Just.. come! My ankle hurts really bad!” you motioned for him to come closer.
Obito was relieved to hear that you were okay with him helping you, but he was also pretty nervous. He felt as if you were a piece of glass. He had to be careful with you, because breaking you would be really bad. He also forgot how to act whenever women came around, so there was that factor.
He pushed away all of those thoughts, and began to make his way towards you. The ice was kind of slippery. It made him question once again how you were able to glide yourself without an issue.
Luckily for him, he had his chakra to help him maintain balance.
Once in front of you, he reached out for your hand. You seemed slightly hesitant, but you reached for him anyway. The warmth of your hand made Obito’s face turn slightly pink. Despite being out in the cold, you felt like a warm blanket. He found that to be quite fascinating.
“Ouch..” you whimpered as he pulled you to your feet. You hopped on your ankle to avoid feeling any pain. You were really hoping it was just a sprain and not a break.
Obito placed his hand on your waist, holding you up so you didn’t fall. He was surprised at how smooth your body suit was. It hugged your body nicely, and it showed off every single one of your curves. He hadn’t seen anything like it before.
“Let me carry you.. the pain will be worse if you walk,” he said, “May I?”
You looked up at him, nodding your head. “Yes, thank you,” you then averted your eyes down at the ice. You felt really embarrassed if you were being honest. This was the first time in a long time that a man was touching you like he was.
A small yelp erupted from your throat as he lifted you off the ground. He held you bridal style, and began to walk towards the edge of the lake. You were surprised at how strong he was. You didn’t expect it at all, but you weren’t complaining. Some people would have just made you walk.
As he walked off the ice, he started to make his way to this dirt path. You vaguely recalled seeing one of those same paths on your way to the lake. You didn’t know there were that many around this area.
“So, um..” he broke the silence between you both, “What’s your name?”
You shifted around in his arms, looking at the leaves below you. “(Y/N).. what about you?” you looked up for a brief moment, taking in the sight of his features.
“It’s Obito,” he replied, “We’re close to my cabin, so we won’t go very far,”
You nodded your head, choosing to not say anything else. You were honestly feeling really awkward at the moment. Sure, you knew his name, but it wasn’t like you knew anything about him. He was a complete stranger. You knew absolutely nothing about this man.
God, you were really hoping you weren’t going to die when you got to his cabin.
Your eyes went to his face. You didn’t really take in his features at first, but you studied them. He looked a little older than you did. He had these scars that lined the left side of his cheeks, and jet-black spiked hair. He also wore a jacket which had a crest on the front of it. It looked like the Uchiha symbol. You had heard so much about their clan from your parents, and you never thought you’d meet one.
But, why was an Uchiha living out in the woods all on his own? Did he hate his life or something?
You didn’t even notice that the two of you were outside his cabin until you heard the sound of a door opening. Your eyes went to look at the dark wood. It looked a little small, but it was enough for one person. He also kept the place nice and clean.
Goosebumps flared on your skin from the warmth wrapping around your body. You were, in fact, only wearing a bodysuit in the middle of winter.
Obito placed you down softly on the chocolate brown couch near the window. You were relieved once you were finally on your bottom. At least you didn’t have to stand, because your ankle was killing you at this point.
“I’ll go grab some first aid,” he stood up, disappearing down a small corridor.
You took a second to take in your surroundings. Nothing seemed suspicious about the place, and it seemed like it was just him. There was a small table with two chairs near the corner of the room, and beside it was a small kitchen. The only light source was from a few candles which sat on the counters. It was cozy, but it also felt lonely.
Leaning against the armrest of the couch, you looked outside the window. Daylight was slipping from your fingers, and fast. You didn’t know how you’d get back to your teammates. The walk from this place to the hotel was pretty far away, and you couldn’t make that journey on your own.
You tensed when you saw Obito appear in the room again. He held a white box in his hand. It looked like he was in a rush too.
He came beside you, sitting down on the edge of the couch so he could assess your aching ankle.
He cleared his throat, looking over at you. “Do you want to take off your shoes..?” he asked, “I need to make sure your whole foot isn’t messed up,”
You stared at him for a brief couple of seconds before nodding your head. “Yeah! Sure..” you reached downward to untie the laces of your skates. You then pulled them off of your feet, exposing your entire foot to him.
Luckily, it didn’t seem like your feet were bad. The only bad part was that your left ankle was slightly swollen, and there was a purple pattern forming on it. It was bruised, but it didn’t seem like it was broken.
Obito placed his cool fingers against your ankle, which caused you to flinch. He halted in his movements in case you were uncomfortable or in pain.
“S-Sorry.. I was just checking if the bone was broken,” he placed the white box on his lap, opening to find an ice pack as well as some pain medication. Kakashi gave it to him in case he ever needed it.
You smiled softly, “No, it’s okay, I appreciate you helping me,”
He looked up at you as he pulled out the ice pack. “It’s not a problem..” he said, “But I have a question,”
You shifted on the couch to get into a more comfortable position. “Go ahead,” you looked at him with a genuine expression.
Obito was surprised at how pretty you were. Your smile kind of cute, but he couldn’t think of things like that. You were just some random girl who he stumbled upon. You didn’t even know who he was, and he really wasn’t going to get into a “get to know you” chat.
He took out a tan colored wrap from his first aid kit. “What were you doing out on the ice like that? How were you moving on it like that?” he lifted your foot slightly so he could start wrapping the bandage around your aching muscles.
Your head cocked to the side at the question. He didn’t know what figure skating was? You were quite surprised to hear that, but not many people were aware of it. Sometimes you found that there were people out there that had no clue about the sport, so you weren’t that shocked.
“Well, I was actually doing something called figure skating. It’s a sport where people can move on the ice with special shoes,” you explained, “Those shoes I was wearing are called ice skates. It’s how I was able to skate on the ice without slipping,”
Obito looked down at your skates. He finally understood why there was a huge metal blade at the end of it. He thought you were wearing those to walk in snow or something, but he was really wrong about that.
He nodded his head, “That’s cool, I’ve never heard of anyone knowing how to skate on ice before. Do you do this often, or?”
You played with the skin of your nails as he finished wrapping your foot. “Yeah! I actually compete in competitions for medals and stuff like that. I’m here in the Hidden Leaf for one actually,” you said, “I hope to make the team here, because it’s been my dream since I was a child. Though, this injury might stop me,”
Obito slowly understood the concept of what figure skating was. He had never heard of it before. It looked really cool from what he had seen, but he was growing worried. What if you didn’t make it onto the team you wanted? You were injured, and that put things in jeopardy.
He needed to make sure you felt fine before your competition.
Obito took the small ice pack, placing it above the wrap on your ankle. You shivered from the cold material touching your skin. It did feel a bit soothing if you were being real.
“You should be fine, it seems like it was just a sprain, so I wouldn’t move for the rest of the evening,” he turned around to grab a bottle of pills, “These help a lot with pain.. I used to take them whenever I had really bad headaches,”
You took the pill bottle from his hand. The tablets moved around, clanking against the plastic container. It sounded like there was a decent amount inside of the bottle, so you were glad you had some pain relief.
Looking up at him, you smiled brightly for his actions. “Thank you, but, I have my competition in a couple of days. What if they come looking? Or.. what if I’m not better before the competition?” a worried tone was heavy in your voice. There was so much that could happen, and you didn’t know what might happen.
Obito placed his hand on your shoulder, giving you a reassuring squeeze. “Don’t worry, I think you’ll be okay in time for your competition. Rest as much as possible,” he smiled at you.
His words were enough to calm your nerves. You wondered how someone like him was all ok his own. He seemed like such a kind, genuine soul. How could somebody like him be hidden in these woods all alone? You wished there were more people in this world like him.
You played with the bottle of pills in your hands. “Hey, Obito.. I have a question,” you turned your head to look at him. He seemed to fixing you some tea, because you saw him taking out some tea packets from the cabinet.
He looked back at you for a couple of seconds. “Yeah? What’s up?” he turned to focus his attention back on the tea he was making you.
“Why do you.. live here all on your own?” you raised your eyebrows in curiosity.
You saw the male pause in his movements. He was dead silent now. You could practically hear a pin drop from how quiet it was inside of the cabin. Part of you was slowly regretting asking the question. What if it was too triggering? What if you were intruding on his business? God, curse your stupid brain for being too curious.
Fearing you upset him, you cleared your throat. “I’m sorry.. if that was too much to ask..” you looked down, feeling shameful from his reaction.
“No, don’t worry about it, (Y/N), it’s not too much,” he replied, “I just.. want a quiet life, you know? Away from all of the people, that’s all,”
You nodded your head, choosing to not say anything else. You still felt kind of foolish to ask such a thing, but you were just curious.
Obito then came towards you with a turquoise tea cup in his hand. He held it out for you, which you gladly took. The smell of the tea made your mouth water. It had been a while since you had something to drink. You had been practicing all day, so you didn’t have many opportunities to get a drink.
You sipped the warm tea. It relaxed your tense body, and you started to feel soothed. It was quite a delicious tea too. You’d have to ask Obito about it before you departed.
“Feel free to rest here for tonight. I don’t mind if you stay,” he walked towards the kitchen to grab his own tea cup.
Realistically, you had no choice but to stay there for the rest of the evening. Your ankle was too sore for you to even think about walking on it. Plus, the walk back to your hotel was very long. It wasn’t like this guy was going to escort you back. You could barely get yourself off of the couch without flinching, and there was that chance of you possibly making your ankle worse.
You placed your tea cup on the coffee table beside the couch. You then opened the bottle of pills to take some. You hoped that the pills would make you feel at least somewhat better.
Placing two of the tablets on your tongue, you reached for your tea to swallow the pills. There was a slight bitter taste in your mouth once they went down. They must have started dissolving on your tongue as you swallowed the tea. It was kind of gross.
“I’ll be in my room if you need anything. Just shout, okay?” Obito nodded his head towards the small corridor.
“Wait, before you go..” your voice made him pause in his movements.
Obito nodded his head to the side. “What’s up? Is everything okay?” he furrowed his eyebrows with curiosity on his features.
You looked at him with this sweet expression. It was enough to make Obito feel butterflies in his belly. “Thank you.. for everything, I know you didn’t have to help me, but I appreciate you more than words can describe,” you played with your nails as you spoke, feeling slightly bashful.
Obito’s face turned a light shade of pink from your words. Your voice was smooth like honey, and he thought you were the prettiest person he’s ever seen. You were so pure, he couldn’t believe people like you still existed.
“Of course, you don’t have to thank me,” he replied, “Let me get you a change of clothes before you rest. I wouldn’t want you catching a cold,”
You smiled at the gesture. “Thank you, Obito, really..” you looked down at the floor, then at him.
He disappeared down the hallway again, leaving you by yourself. There was something about Obito that made you feel nervous. He was flattering, and really handsome if you were being honest with yourself. He seemed so selfless, and it was such an admirable trait of his.
You wished you could spend a little longer with him.
-
Your eyes slowly fluttered open as the sound of birds chirping filled your ears. There was also a soft yellow glow that filled the room, which made you stir around in your sleep.
It took you a few moments, but you finally adjusted to the area around you. The room was slightly unfamiliar, but the memories from the previous day began to flood into your brain. You were still staying with Obito, but you weren’t sure what time it was.
Shifting around on the couch, your head turned to look outside the window. It looked like the sun had barely just rose out of the sky. You knew it was probably going to be a really beautiful day, and that excited you. You yearned for those lovely winter mornings where the air was crisp, and the sun was high in the sky.
Turning your ankle, you realized there was little to no pain in your muscles. The pain meds Obito gave you must have really done the trick, which made you even more happier. You were going to be fine for the competition, and your dream of making the Hidden Leaf Figure Skating Team was still alive.
You were also wearing Obito’s clothes. Before you fell asleep, he gave you one of his sweaters and a pair of his shorts. They were kind of big on you, but it felt extremely cozy. You also had a nice thick blanket covering you too, so you slept really nice.
Sitting up, you pulled the blanket off of your body, placing your feet on the cool wooden floor. It was completely still and quiet inside of the cabin. Obito must have been still sleeping, so you figured you wouldn’t wake him up. He deserved the sleep, especially after what he did for you yesterday. You didn’t know what you’d do to thank him, but you really appreciated him.
You lifted yourself off of the couch, and started walking towards the kitchen. This was also a small test to see if you could actually walk on your ankle. It seemed like it was perfectly fine, which was a complete relief.
Your eyes landed on the tea box which sat on the counter. You figured you’d make yourself a cup, as well as Obito.
Meanwhile, Obito was laying in his bed. He had barely just woken up from his slumber. It had to be pretty early in the day, because the sun was still peaking through the curtains; its golden rays basking against the wall. He still felt pretty lazy, but he knew he had to wake up eventually.
He also realized that you were still there. He almost completely forgot that you had spent the night with him, so he figured he’d go and check up on you. Obito was aware that you needed to leave today, so he wanted to get you ready as soon as possible.
He dreaded it, but you had your own life and he had his.
Obito sat up in his bed, stretching out his joints and his muscles. He then placed his feet on the floor, shivering slightly from the cold floor making contact with his warm skin.
Standing up, he headed towards his bedroom door and opened it. The faint aroma of herbal tea filled his nose. He wondered if you were already awake, because he knew he didn’t leave any tea out from the previous night. If you were awake and walking, that must have meant your ankle was fine.
At least he hoped so.
Obito walked through the hallway towards the living room and kitchen. His eyes landed on where you were standing. You seemed to be mixing something in one of his tea cups. Had you gotten up and made some tea for yourself? If that was the case, that was a good sign. You were feeling better, which was all he wanted.
He yawned, which caused you to turn around and face him. “Good morning, Obito!” you smiled brightly at him, “I hope you don’t mind.. but I made you and I some tea.. I was feeling kind of thirsty this morning, and I felt like I wanted to repay you for last night,”
His heart practically leaped out of his chest. You were so kind to him. You didn’t need to do any of that, yet you did. God, Obito thought you were an angel sent from the heaven’s above.
He stepped over so he was now standing right beside you. “Thank you, (Y/N), you’re very sweet. I appreciate the gesture,” his cheeks turned pink as he spoke to you.
Your hand raised to touch his arm. “Of course! You deserve it! I couldn’t leave without thanking you,” you giggled.
Your touch sent tingles along Obito’s skin. It was something he hadn’t felt before. He wasn’t alarmed by it, no, but he was surprised at how good it felt. You were making him feel something for once. He wished more people like you existed around Konoha. Your beauty, your smile, your laugh, it was all perfect to Obito.
He stared at you for a few moments, taking in your features. It pained him knowing that you had to leave him. You probably wouldn’t ever see each other again, and you would continue your lives without remembering this moment.
He dreaded that, but it was a reality he had to face.
Snapping out of his thoughts, he reached over to grab his tea cup. “Speaking of leaving..” he started, “We should get you ready before your teammates get suspicious. You have to practice for that competition,”
You slowly remembered that your competition was tomorrow, and you knew you had to get a ton of practice in. That, and your coach would probably rip you a new one for wandering off without informing him.
“Right! I’ll gather my stuff and I’ll be out of your hair soon,” you walked out of the kitchen towards the couch where your items were. Your suit was folded up, and your skates were right beside the coffee table.
Obito watched you as you gathered all of your things. He couldn’t help but think about how great of a woman you were. You’d make someone really happy someday, and he was very confident about that.
You turned around, looking at him awkwardly. “Um, do you want your clothes back?” you nodded your head to the side.
He almost choked on his tea. He cleared his throat so he wouldn’t. “N-No! Don’t worry about it, I have plenty. It’s also very cold outside, so you need to stay warm,” his tone was reassuring.
You tossed all of your things into the small bag you brought with you. Being honest, you were kind of sad that you had to leave. Obito was a very sweet man, and having to depart from his presence was making you melancholic.
You swung your bag over your shoulders, scanning the room to make sure you didn’t leave anything behind. You also took a second to slip into the walking shoes you brought with you. Your feet were kind of sore, and you didn’t want to trip over yourself with your skates.
“Before you go..” you turned around to see Obito standing behind you. He had a bottle in his hand, which showed the pills he previously gave to you. “Make sure you take some of these with you just in case,”
You took the bottle from him, smiling at the act of kindness. “Thank you, Obito, you’re such a good and amazing person. You deserve the best,” you played with the bottle, causing the pills to shake around against the plastic.
Quietness filled the room, this was the hard part. You both had to leave each other, but neither of you wanted that. You wished you could spend more time with him, but your competition was important. You couldn’t give that up for him. He probably didn’t see you like that anyway.
Obito watched you head towards the door. He could feel the dull ache forming in his chest from the scene unfolding in front of him.
“See you later, Obito,” you turned to wave at him before walking out of his cabin, the door shutting with a click.
His hand drooped to his side as you walked out of his home. You were gone, and that’s the last time he’d ever see you.
Being honest, Obito didn’t know why he was so upset about you leaving him. He barely knew you at all, and the two of you were strangers. All he did was patch up your wounds, so why did he feel sad about you? Deep down, he knew that you probably only saw him as a man who helped you. There was no spark, well, maybe you didn’t feel it as much as he did.
Maybe it was the fact that you actually saw Obito as a person. You didn’t give him those smug looks the people in the Hidden Leaf gave him. You said he was a good person. Nobody had ever said that to him, and it made him feel something for once. He wasn’t a robot anymore. You cracked that hollow shell inside of him, and let light shine through the dark space. He truly felt something being around you.
Sniffing, he turned around to clean up the tea cups. You were gone, and there was nothing he could do about it.
-
It was the official day of your competition, and you were extremely nervous.
The knot in your gut was tight. You knew this was your chance to show the Hidden Leaf judges that you were worth joining their figure skating team. If you messed this up, there was no more opportunities for you to try again. It’s what bothered you the most, but it was also your biggest motivation.
You were currently in the locker room getting ready. There was about ten minutes left before you hit the ice, and you were doing some extra preparations. You made sure your laces were on extra tight, and your outfit was straight and smooth. First impressions were always everything.
“You’re going up soon, (Y/N)! Be ready!” your coach called, leaning over to look at you.
You turned your head to look at him. “Got it!” you called back, standing up to get ready. You could feel your heart leaping inside of your chest. You felt like you were going to throw up if you were being honest.
Your mind started to wander to Obito, again.
For the past couple of hours, your mind couldn’t shake the thoughts about him. Your mind couldn’t erase the memories of the few hours you shared together. It was short, but it meant so much to you and you wanted to relive it all over again. The lecturing from your coach was worth it, because you got to spend your time away with someone you felt comfortable with.
You really missed him, but you didn’t want to say it out loud.
“(Y/N)! Come here!”
The sound of your coach’s voice booming made you jump out of your skin. You wobbled your way to the small room he was standing in. He had a small smile on his features, which made you confused.
“Yes? What’s going on?” you nodded your head to the side with curiosity written all over your features.
He turned around, pointing at the most beautiful bouquet of flowers sitting on the wooden table. “Looks like you have a little fan. These were dropped off for you,” he said.
Your eyes grew wide in shock. Who could have given you such a beautiful gift? The flowers were lovely, the crimson colored roses popped out and they smelled amazing. They looked like they were freshly picked too.
“Wow.. these are amazing,” your fingers brushed against the soft petals, which felt like silk beneath your fingertips.
Your coach pulled a piece of folded paper off of the bouquet. “There’s a small note, you should read it,” he tapped your shoulder before walking out of the room for you to have some privacy.
You picked up the piece of paper, lifting it up to see what was written. Your eyes began to scan over the letters, and you couldn’t help but feel your heart flutter from the sweet words.
(Y/N),
I picked these for you because you remind me of fresh roses. Your beauty is stunning, and you bring in so much love and happiness in every room you enter.
Good luck today, I hope you make it onto the team. You’re talented, so I know you’ll make it.
With love,
Obito.

hi. I'm really happy your requests are open again, thank your for writing!
for my request, may I please ask for yandere! Shikamaru, Neji and Obito (separately) with a darling who at first acts like they're not gonna be of any trouble, agrees to their yandere rules and whatnot tries to trick them into believing they're gonna stay and just be obedient, but in reality they're trying to outsmart them and gain their trust before they actually try to escape. Would they be able to trick their yandere or to successfully escape? or would they end up being 'punished' for thinking that they could trick them
wishing you a blessed day and please take car of yourself! ❤️
NOTE: Thank you for requesting Obito, I had fun writing his part. You take care of your health as well!
Tumblr media
SHIKAMARU NARA
🦌 Takes a while for him to catch on. Not because it slips his mind but it appears to be too much of a hassle to question your plans. You had his "trust" since the beginning, but that doesn't mean Shikamaru wasn't keeping an eye on you. Spending his time enjoying your obedience while he has the chance.
🦌 Tolerates your bizarre behavior simply because it makes his life a lot easier. The obvious shift in your personality before and after he kidnapped you were quite clear. To him, "Only an idiot wouldn't notice something so obvious." Since he spends an abundance of his time to himself there's plenty of time to take in your more compliant personality.
🦌 Near the time of your escape he catches you, snagging your arm. You struggle against his grip, tears burning your panicked eyes. Screaming for whoever would listen, for the help of anyone who would care to interfere. "What a drag. Hah, {Name} stop making a scene. I don't have time for your tantrums."
🦌 Finds the whole idea of "punishing you" to be a load of bullshit. You are both adults therefore you'll handle the situation like one. That is if locking you in a room is one — It's not? oh well! Until you learn there's no escape, that things could be a whole lot worse than you will stay here. Drowning in your loneliness, tears filled with so much sorrow. All until you come crawling back to him — they always do.
Tumblr media
NEJI HYUUGA
🥋 It's ironic how such a sharp man couldn't even catch on to your behavior, rookie mistake. Nji chalked up your compliance with love, acceptance. Gaining his trust has never been a problem for you as the man is hopelessly in love. Perhaps he'd end his life if you ordered him to do so. But only an idiot would do so.
🥋 Your obedience was too good to be true! After all, he only wants the best for you. Willingly letting him spoil you rotten, gifting you whatever your heart desires. Freedom not being an option. Surely you've forgotten about all the things that he's put you through and — no, forget about that.
🥋 I have a feeling there are plenty of people who disagree with my idea of Neji being tricked. Yes, of course, the man is intelligent. However, his delusions will be his downfall. The strong desire to believe in whatever feels right. Whatever makes you the happiest, the most content. That is you, my dear, the idea of your affections are too much I suppose!
🥋 You've successfully escaped a Hyuuga! What now? It won't be long before he comes to his senses and comes desperately searching for you, no matter the cost. Look at that; you're all locked up, how sad. What will you do now, with no freedom, no contact with the outside world? Nothing at all. I know now is not a good time but I'm curious; what will you do next?
Tumblr media
OBITO UCHIHA
🔥 Plays along, humoring your efforts. You could be the most intelligent person to ever walk this pathetic planet and there's still no chance you could fool him. Sure your compliance is appreciated but it wields no true significance to the outcome of your scheme. Think of it as a friendly game of cat and mouse, yeah, a game! But there can only be one winner to this game, and I'm sure you know who it is.
🔥 Your behavior was odd from the beginning. Obito wasted no time putting his guard up, focusing on the little things you do a bit more often. Do you maybe have Stockholm Syndrome — no, impossible. Your demeanor appears far too perfect. It's rather painful to know you despise his existence that much. To fake giving into his love just to snatch it back.
🔥 You failed, surprise. You were near the border of the village, running until your legs were numb, lungs burning from lack of air. You could nearly taste the relief of freedom on your tongue, the sweet taste that seemed foreign in this endless hell. But it was all too good to be true, "Times up!" Eerie red eyes, that's all you could see through that twisted mask. Digging your nails into the selves of your infamous captor. "You're so mean {Name}, playing tricks on me. Shouldn't I be awarded for keeping my composure?"
🔥 As for punishment, there are so many choices! For reference, "Tobi" would be far worse than Obito If that makes it any better! The real Obito would be sympathetic, forgiving you for your wrongdoings. Only going as far as to lock you up for a while — how kind! However, "Tobi" isn't as kind. Deciding on torturing you just as you did him, perhaps with slight sympathy. But forget the details, I'm sure you'll find out for yourself!

‣ Will let you go if he so much as senses someone else nearby
‣ If you happen to fall asleep on him he would never push you off
◙ Sasori
‣ Prolonged hugging? Why? Why would he willingly give up the mobility of his hands just to touch you?
‣ But then he tries it, because damn it his love always gets what she wants
‣ And oh, you are very warm and ew he loves the way you feel against him
‣ Snuggling into his neck was the last straw
‣ "Ah, love. You always find ways to rope me into your odd displays of affection. Sometimes I wonder if you are more clever than I am."
‣ He'll have you sit in his lap, keeping him warm while he adjusts his creepy corpse puppet weapons
◙ Deidara
‣ As long as he minds his hands, you guys are pretty much always cuddling
‣ Or at least wrapped up in each other in some way
‣ You were laying in between Deidara's legs, his arms around you and Tobi asked if he could join the cuddle train
‣ He likes it when you run your fingers through his hair, (it makes him blush when you compliment it)

‣ You tried to be the big spoon once but you practically ate Deidara's hair, you are forever little spoon hahahaha
◙ Hidan
‣ Will just wrap his arms around you if the desire strikes him
‣ He likes to come up behind you and wrap his arms around your waist, putting his chin on your shoulder and licking kissing your cheek with a smirk
‣ It hurts his manly ego to be the little spoon but real men like the feel of their women's arms around them he tells himself
‣ Can't help but genuinely smile when he sees you cuddled up to him, half-asleep and completely peaceful
‣ Tries very hard to not melt when you run your fingers through his hair
‣ Will sometimes just come up behind and hug you, waiting for you to realize that he's covered in blood and now you are too :)
◙ Konan
‣ oh my god she will suffocate you with her adorableness alone
‣ She has a huge rack so you can feel her up against you when she's the big spoon oops
‣ She gets really shy and will blush if you even suggest cuddling in front of others
‣ please just hug her, snuggle up to her and wrap your arms around her, make her blush
‣ Lay on her thighs, they are nice squish
‣ She smells like tea and rain and ohmygod don't tell her she will blush so h a r d
◙ Zetsu
‣ Cuddling might be a little difficult at first with Zetsu, he has a venus flytrap and two different personalities??
‣ Black Zetsu completely dismisses the idea at first, he is too good for gross human affection
‣ But White Zetsu really wants to try it and you're pouting and god dammit it's like the world wants to watch him burn
‣ "Ugh, come here, brat. Before I change my mind." "Yay!"
‣ He will never admit it but he finds he likes how warm and nice you feel in his arms
‣ White Zetsu blushes a lot and Black Zetsu insults him even though he's blushing too and you just can't see it
