Neji x Reader: Take a Risk

Modern AU! With a fem reader

Might be the greatest thing I’ve ever written tbh.

A movie night where the wrong person gets to choose the movie this round can cause for a fairly boring night. Why you all allowed Sai to choose the movie, you’ll never know. He doesn’t know the first thing about good movies. He’s seen like 7 or 8 movies, and those are mostly the movies you all watch during “Konoha 13 Movie Nights”, as you call them.

So as some boring artsy movie plays on the tv, you lay back on the couch, blanket stretched over you, your boyfriend Neji, and Lee, which has been causing fights since Lee can’t sit still. Tenten sits on the floor in front of you all, turning back to talk. Luckily, Sai doesn’t mind the talking as long as he can hear the boring, practically poetry leaving the characters mouths on screen.

As everybody starts to get tired, however, you feel Neji’s hand on your thigh. It doesn’t move up or down, just rests there on your skin. He stays still as slowly everybody falls asleep or decides to head home. Being that it was your house where you hosted the movie night, you waited, and offered to let people stay over, and when you did you felt Neji’s hand squeeze your thigh.

Oh.

Lee falls asleep on Neji’s shoulder, eliciting a groan from Neji, before he looks over at you with a pleading look. He wants you to get everybody home. You think for a moment, but shake your head.

“They’re too tired to walk all the way home. I think it’s better if they stay.” You whisper, looking around at most of the group still being here and asleep somewhere in the living space.

“Y/N.” He says simply, hand spreading out across your thigh as he does. And you know what he’s trying to say, but you can’t just ditch everybody and throw them out on the street for a good time, so you shake your head softly. And seeing as Neji isn’t the daring type, he won’t pull you back to another room and make you stay silent while he gets what he wants. No, he’ll wait until tomorrow if this is what you want.

He lets out a soft sigh, nodding as he sits back against the couch again, shoving Lee off finally. Lee doesn’t wake up as he falls to the other side of the couch. He doesn’t even wake when Sakura, the lap he landed in, shoves him down to the ground, but Tenten wakes when he falls on her.

“Ah, what the— Lee?” She shoves him off, shaking her head. Somehow, he’s still sound asleep on the ground beside her now. She shrugs and rolls over. You can’t help but laugh, and when you laugh you finally hear Neji chuckle.

“See? Couldn’t wake him if we tried.” You mutter, shaking your head.

Shikamaru was asleep on the floor a few feet away. Sasuke had gone home a while ago, dragging Naruto away with him. Sakura was still watching the movie with Sai, some part of her feeling bad if she left him. Ino had tried to drag off Shikamaru and Choji with her when she left, but Shikamaru wouldn’t budge and Choji didn’t want to leave him.

Shino, Kiba, Akamaru, and Hinata had all gone to their homes a while ago, being the firsts to leave. Which left about half of you still in your living room.

“I’m gonna go use the restroom, I’ll be back.” You whisper, excusing yourself and prying yourself out of your boyfriend’s arms. Neji nods as you walk away, sinking back into the couch.

However, you hear a soft knock on the bathroom door after you’re done washing your hands. Wondering who must have woke up, you open the door to leave the restroom, only to find your boyfriend standing there. Neji slips in, shutting and locking the door behind him and hoists you up on the counter.

“What? What are you doing?” You ask, looking into his white eyes. In this lighting, you can’t help but simply think about how pretty those eyes are on him. The soft light coming just from a little night light plugged into an outlet lit his face up just enough that the soft glow softened his features. He looked nearly ethereal like this.

That doesn’t shake your confusion, seeing as your boyfriend has never been the type to take a risk. There are people mere meters away in the living room, and you can’t figure out what he’s doing. It’s too unlike him, but could he have been this desperate to shake everybody else off tonight?

You hadn’t provoked him, but maybe he didn’t need that. And in fact, you simply breathing and being near him was enough to provoke him. His hand on your thigh was a form of pleading for this kind of attention. The attention he draws out of you now, taking your lips with his. Your lips move together in a gentle, yet feverish way. The pace is somewhere between pure desperation and his usual composure, as if his composure was a bar he was desperately clinging to but slipping.

“What did you get in number seven?” Sasuke asked, scratching his head.

He suspected he had messed something up in the middle of the proceedings, but he couldn’t put his finger on it. Perhaps they had been studying for too long and it would be better to take a rest and actually spend time together — finals had never seemed so annoying to Sasuke.

A frown took over his face when he realized his boyfriend had not replied. He looked up, only to find the blonde idiot fully enthralled by his own right hand.

“Dobe,” he called, but to no avail.

Sasuke sighed, took his eraser and threw it at Naruto’s head.

“Hey! What was that for?” The blonde blinked at him.

“What are you doing?” Sasuke rested his chin on one of his hands — whatever it was, it should be more interesting than the stupid practice test.

“Huh?”

“You were staring at your hand as if it contained the secrets of the universe.”

Naruto blushed and hid his hands under the table. “No-nothing.”

This is promising.

“That’s awfully suspicious.”

“It’s none of your business!” Which meant it absolutely was related to Sasuke.

“Is that so?” He couldn’t contain his smirk. “I thought all of your business was my business.”

“Not this.”

“Dobe, we both know you’re gonna tell me anyway.”

Naruto pouted, and all Sasuke wanted was to kiss him, but that wouldn’t provide him answers.

“You’re gonna make fun of me.”

“I-” Naruto squirmed where he was sitting. “I’ve been thinking about the red string of fate. And like, I had been- you think-” He looked at Sasuke and quickly averted his eyes. “I thought I might be able to see the… string tying us together.”

Naruto shrugged and lowered his eyes. “There’s just something… I kinda keep feeling this pull towards you and I wondered-” He shook his head widely. “I know it’s silly.”

“It’s sweet, the idea of it.” Sasuke smiled reassuringly, and Naruto sighed relieved.

“Isn’t it! Even if it’s not real.” Naruto laughed. “Just my mind trailing off.” He cleared his throat. “Can- could we take a break? I’m- I think I need to use the toilet.”

Naruto rushed out of the room and Sasuke took a moment to stare at his left hand. His boyfriend was taking his sweet time coming back, so his mind started spinning to the point he swore he too could feel the pull Naruto mentioned.

He ended up rummaging through his closet until he found something useful. The old shoelaces weren’t anything special but the color was right so he occupied himself braiding and twisting until he had a pair of makeshift red bracelets.

When his boyfriend returned, Sasuke was already wearing one around his left wrist.

“What’s that, teme?” Naruto squinted at him.

He blushed, averting his gaze briefly from Naruto’s blue, piercing one.

He could only draw in a harsh breath before mumbling, “Redstringoffate.”

The blonde’s head tilted in confusion, then his eyes widened. He stretched his arm towards Sasuke eagerly.

Sasuke promptly tied the other lace around Naruto’s wrist, fingers trembling slightly.

The embarrassment he felt, though, vanished when he caught the sight of Naruto’s blinding smile, soon followed by a cheerful laughter.

This is a sasunaru modern college au I’ve been working on for ages. But I’m currently stuck, so I'm gonna post an excerpt here for funsies. Enjoy!

“I am not jealous”, Sasuke snapped at Neji, who was lowering himself to the floor to get into position for his post-spar meditation.

“I didn’t say anything”, the Hyuga replied, crossing his legs and closing his eyes. You’d think the guy would prefer to do this particular task anywhere else but their university’s fitness centre, but apparently, he liked the challenge of having to block out environmental sounds. It does help that they picked the earliest time slot so there were only a handful of people in the gym either sparring, making use of the equipment, or in the boxing corner which is where Sakura would usually be in the afternoon, trying to drive the bags of their hooks after a stressful day of medical school.

Sasuke and Neji preferred to just spar on the mats that were usually occupied by the judo and aikido practitioners on weekend afternoons. Naruto would typically be joining them around this time. Taking Neji’s spot against Sasuke despite having already spent 30 minutes on the treadmill. But Naruto’s stamina had always been monstrous in its expanse.

Instead, for the 3rd day in a row, he was standing in the gymnastic area by the bars, watching in awe as Gaara Sabaku showed off another flip.

“Just call him over”, came the exasperated scolding from the Hyuga who still had his eyes closed.

Sasuke just let out a disgruntled ‘tch’.

“What is he doing here this early anyway?”, the Uchiha narrowed his eyes at the twirling redhead, “He always trains at noon with his brother. Is he even supposed to be here without his coach?”

Neji’s face scrunches up, and Sasuke can’t help but feel a little triumph at having gotten a reaction.

“He doesn’t need a spotter just to use the beams. He’s 21, not 11. Go call Naruto over because we have 40 minutes before Lee shows up”

It’s uncharacteristic of Sasuke to have a desire to pester someone till they indulged him, but he was particularly annoyed this week and was itching for a good fight, which Naruto usually delivered.

“And that’s not even half the shit the bastard’s done. Sai’s trying to cut the dude out, but he froze all of the money in his account cause the control freak wouldn’t let him open one under his name even though Sai is already 20”

“Usuratonkachi, get to the point”

Sasuke massaged his eyebrows down to the bridge of his nose. “Are you going to pick up every stray you find, dobe?”

Their conversation is interrupted by a loud indignant yowl from Kurama who’d been lounging by the window listening to their argument. He gets up and gracefully weaves through the potted plants Naruto had arranged on the ledge, leaps onto the floor, and canters over to the blonde, meowing loudly like a whiny spoiled child.

It doesn’t help that Naruto immediately melts at the sight of him and picks the cat up to hold it lovingly to his chest. “He didn’t mean it, Kurama. You’re not a stray. You’re a powerful little beast aren’t you”

Seemingly appeased, the Maine Coon gives Sasuke one last scathing look before nuzzling further into Naruto’s arms, purring when Naruto gives him a distracted scratch under his jaw.

“I could help, and I did”, the blonde says in such a matter-of-fact manner that it made Sasuke feel ashamed that he ever asked.

He looks at the cat waving its tail as he nuzzled into Naruto and remembers the snarling dirty little creature it used to be 2 years ago.

He also thinks about the lonely little malnourished boy sitting alone in a crowded cafeteria with nothing to eat and he thinks about a refrigerator currently filled with home-cooked meals Naruto could now enjoy to his heart's content, knowing they were made by someone who cared about him.

He thinks about the bare, cold, tiny room of the second-floor apartment, that the blonde had lived in for the majority of his childhood, with its doors eternally locked by foster parents who couldn’t care less and he thinks about the pictures and paintings that currently hung all around the 21-year-old’s home with a front door that was always open to welcome anyone who crossed its path.

Sasuke is broken out of his memories by the sound of heavy sneakers squeaking from the friction against the gym floor.

“Hey! Sasuke! Sorry! I got distracted. Gaara was doing this cool move-“

“It's fine, dobe. Just get in position already.”

“Oh, Gaara said he wants to join us in the mornings from now on. Said the company was better. I think he just likes that there are fewer people”

“Wonderful”, Sasuke says through gritted teeth. He could practically feel Neji vibrating with barely held-back laughter behind him, “Just start already. We have 15 minutes till Lee gets here”

It's not that any of them disliked Lee. He was their friend, and he hung out with them often. But Lee was also the university’s star athlete, and being around while he was training was begging for a death wish via exhaustion through being roped into one of his intense workouts. The only person capable of managing Lee was coach Guy himself.

Naruto immediately sets himself into a solid stance, “HA! I’ll beat you in 10 minutes”

Sasuke couldn’t help the smile edging at the corner of his lips, “You can try idiot”

i saw the boruto leaks this morning and i won’t lie, they actually had me hyped for the time skip. i know weird cuz this manga is ROUGH and i have a love-hate relationship with it because i love naruto and boruto doesn’t really feel like it lives up to it’s legacy

that said, i wanna share my opinions on the designs✨✨

i won’t be posting any images in case others don’t wanna be spoiled and because the official release has not happened

i’m gonna start with the main character

boruto: overall i think he looks boring. i said it was too simple for being the main character, but that’s not necessarily the issue. what i mean by it is the colors make it plain and simple. he’s the main character and those colors unfortunately do not make him standout. also, i personally think his face is too cluttered. he has the headband on, two whiskers on each side of his face and then the scar. it’s a bit much…

shikadai: ehhh he’s alright i guess. not bad, but nothing impressive

inojin: OH MY GOSH WHAT DID THEY DO TO HIS HAIR ??!! he looks even more like sai !!!! which is fine cuz he’s his father but why would you cut his hair ???!!!! the yamanaka clan are all about the ponytails. their blond tied back hair is what they’re known for and… they just chopped it off…

chocho: okay SHE’s CUTE !! i like her design. out of all the girls, her’s appears to be more ninja-like

himawari: i think she looks adorable ??!! idk she’s just cute to me !! i do dislike how uneven her hair is but ehhh i suppose that’s just uzumakis (karin had the choppy hair). her outfit is okay with me. also looks fine since it provides mobility since they’re ninja. i do think the sunflower design is a bit much… but nothing that can’t be overlooked. her choker… why does she have one ?? feels kind of unnecessary xD overall she’s adorable. i think the long hair suits her and makes her look like a girl since her short hair made her look more like a gremlin than a human child xD

eida & daemon: they’re boring. nothing’s changed NEXT

code: i LOVE code, but his design is nothing we haven’t seen. he wore it in the chapter prior to the hiatus. i will say i’ve always adored the gothic look he has going for him♡

mitsuki: HE’s BEAUTIFUL !!!! i love how he looks but i will say his clothes… in black and white it kinda makes him look like a huge blob >.< but overall he’s pretty pretty !! lowkey wish he’d gotten some eyeliner to make his eyes look more like orochimaru’s and wear his style of earrings as well, but oh well. we can’t have it all :,))

kawaki: OMGGG I LOVE HIM !!!!! his design idk why but i adore it !! the baggy pants and huge jacket just reeks of his fashion sense xD it suits him perfectly :3 i especially love his longer hair. i think he has one of the better designs

sumire: i think she looks CUTE !! i will say her design is so plain and looks basic but overall i think it’s one of the more decent ones regarding the girls. a little short, but that’s ikemoto ://

sarada: sigh… i saved her for last because i am NOT A FAN of her design ._. it just doesn’t look right imo. she looks like she changed in the dark or threw on the first thing she saw for a quick grocery store run. she has some bodysuit as if she were training and then just threw on the jacket and most random shoes to go out. her shoes literally look like 1980s leg warmers… like why ?? not to mention the collar is unnecessary and if her jacket has the uchiha crest on the back, why does she have earrings of the uchiha crest?? it makes her look tacky :// i do like that her hair was kept short and it sports the uchiha spikes ^_^

overall i think the designs are fine… i like them, but at the same time i don’t. this is a manga about ninjas. these designs feel like the narutoverse got thrown in a modern AU. let’s not forget the reason naruto is the way it is, is cuz it was inspired by traditional japanese culture. i understand in boruto they’re getting more modern with the tech, but that doesn’t mean throw away the traditional aspects naruto had. if anything, the clothing made it feel more authentic and true to it being inspired by traditional japanese culture. boruto feels more like a shonen manga trying to be an outdated fashion magazine at the same time. i understand ikemoto is inspired by jojo, but that’s jojo. the fashion is a whole different kind compared to the naruto one. if they want us to see this as naruto’s sequel, these designs don’t help it at all

Right now I am arguing uselessly with my OC. The Isakai'd one, not the Thranduilion one. That's Colfileg (tentative name, trying to find the best way to name him 'little golden bird' could also be Glorfileg maybe? There are a bunch of words that mean Gold in Sindarin. *grumbles* No canon word for 'purple' but there's like six sindarin words that mean gold/golden? Really Tolkien?), he's older than Legolas and has been in the Trauma and Trouble long enough he's presumed dead when isekai'd OC and Celeg get dropped in. (Also Celeg is trans bc I have yet to read a trans!Celegorm story. And bc he said so.)

Me: Okay we are NOT doing HP, that route is closed off. No vampires, and I haven't touched any Shadowrun books in years. Same for the Percy Jackson novels. As cool as a Nephil OC might be, no Supernatural. I'd have to watch it again.

OC: *nods*

Me: Naruto? That could be neat, but like, too OP once things start moving...

OC: Oh yeah, no, not Naruto.

Me: and I don't know enough about One Piece really, also I don't think I feel like the worlds are a bit too oil and water, at least for me.

Me: MDZS maybe? A modern cultivation AU so you could have read Tolkien? Also, possibility of immortality to match lovely new elves you are definitely going to end up in SOME kind of relationship with? *squints* But I don't think you're central asian, so... If it's a modern cultivation AU, there could be multicultural Cultivators? Maybe?

OC: *tugs on red hair the ONLY feature we've agreed on* I mean- there ARE central asian people with red hair. But YOU don't know anything about them culturally. And I'm probably gonna be american just bc that's what you know best, right? *pauses* I guess I don't HAVE to have red hair-

Me: No, no we both agreed that having Celeg and Thranduils son fall in love with a redhead is funny. How about Star Wars? You could be a jedi and wouldn't have to have any earth race really?

OC: A jedi could be fun! But then I wouldn't get to know anything about Tolkien.

Me: Ah, heck. I forgot. Might be worth it tho. We could cook up a Modern dnd AU maybe? Cup of Shadowrun, cup of modern cultivation, double handful of all the neat DnD character races there are now?

OC: could be neat, I'd still have to look mostly human tho or elven? I don't think an aasimar or a tiefling would do well in Arda. Also, do you want to worldbuild that much for a world I'm not gonna be in again?

Hahaha I’m afraid I’m going to be no help here because all the worlds my ocs come from have a More Backstory than is Needed. Usually I take a world like ours and adjust a Few Things to make things sad for OC dearest before yeeting them into someplace.

Personally, I'm not a fan of AUs because they tend to suffer from Any Two Guys Syndrome (definition: term used to refer to a story where the characterization is so weak and the story so generic that if you changed the names and a few minor details the main characters could be mistaken for any two men pulled off the street) way more than regular fic. Would I read a story about my blorbo in a coffee shop? Sure, but it's never that. Even the older men become generic twinks💀

That’s definitely part of it! But even if it was extremely in character, I feel like… it still wouldn’t really BE in character?

I REALLY limit the fandoms/ships I read fic for (I just read fic for Sasuke and Naruto, Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian, Spock and Kirk. Rarely I’ll dip my toes in other ships but like… mostly this is it) and all of those fandoms… the world building is REALLY essential for forming the characters as they are.

For these characters, there’s no like real or alt-world explanations that would really make them function the same without then having really, really awkward (or sometimes problematic) implications. Like I don’t think Spock works as a non-alien hybrid. I’m sure there are ways to explore the feelings of otherness he might feel or his mannerisms or whatever but they just… don’t work the same way?

Or like… you can get Sasukes personality right in a modern AU but I’m gonna feel real fucking world if you try to incorporate real world genocide into your anime fanfic but like… who is Sasuke if he’s not a genocide survivor?

And you cna make it about family annihilation but then that removes the broader context and it just… doesn’t work.

A lot of my favorite characters and character dynamics (ship or not) are heavily reliant on the worlds around them. Sasuke and Naruto don’t work if they didn’t literally sacrifice their lives for each other as child soldiers. Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian being soulmates doesn’t hit half as hard if they didn’t have to overcome the cultivation world’s prejudice and corruption to come together after thirteen years and death itself.

I will say, I hold the most wariness towards Modern AUs and have found some more sci fi based AUs for the untamed in particular that worked. But like… then a lot of the time it just feels like changing window dressing for the same story. Which is fiiiine but it’s not what i go to fic for. I go to fic to pick at the seams of canon—to ponder what if, the maybe think about how certain characters felt about certain events if they weren’t POV characters for that in canon, to explore aches and hopes that were under-explored, etc etc.

“What if the same things happened… in space?” is less likely to do that.

And a lot more of the broader AUs—modern au, royalty au, coffee shop—are more about exploring the “any two guys doing a thing you like” rather than canon AT ALL.

I read fic only for things I really enjoy the canon of (though often have major criticisms of), so if you’re not giving me ANY canon… you’re not giving me fanfiction, you’re giving me a random like… dime novel. A shitty romance novel, not even rising up to the potential of the romance novels that work to get published.

(Y/N) couldn’t help but nervously bite his bottom lip. Logically, he knew everything would be fine, however, the nerves were still eating at him. His girlfriend was meeting his mother. How could that not scare him at least a little?

Even though (Y/N) knew very well how intimidating his mother could be, he knew that was the least of his worries. His biggest worry, as dumb as it might be, was the fact that Tsunade was an enthusiastic and fairly doting mother first, and scary, important lady second. Would Hinata love him no matter what? Of course she would, however, Tsunade would absolutely be out to embarrass him and (Y/N) knew it. No one knew his mother better than him.

A knock suddenly sounded on the front door and (Y/N) nearly jumped out of his skin. If his mother were in the room, she would have laughed at him. (Y/N) braced himself for a second before going to the door and letting his girlfriend in. He was taking the fact that he hadn’t heard his mother’s incoming footsteps yet as a good sign.

“Are you okay?” Hinata laughed, looking at him confused. She didn’t understand how (Y/N) was more nervous than she was. She was the one meeting his mother and hoping for her approval as opposed to him meeting her father. “You seem,” Hinata wasn’t sure what the right term would be for what she was seeing. “Jumpy.” That was as good as she felt like she was going to get.

“I’m great!” (Y/N) answered, though his voice definitely held a nervous edge. “Are you?”

Hinata’s smile was as gentle as it always was, though the way her eyebrows were furrowed showed concern. It fell on blind eyes, however. “As okay as I can be.” Hinata wasn’t sure how she was feeling anymore. Was she concerned or nervous about meeting her boyfriend’s mother officially? She supposed she’d have to find out when Tsunade came into the room.

(Y/N) released a heavy breath before showing his girlfriend a genuine smile. His nerves could be pushed back. He wanted Hinata to be comfortable and for all (Y/N) knew, he was making it worse. “Everything’s gonna be fine!”

Hinata smiled at him as he wrapped her up in his arms. Whatever odd emotions either of them were feeling before were gone and instead replaced with warmth as (Y/N) embraced her comfortingly and kissed the crown of her head. Much like the girl in his arms, (Y/N) forgot all about any worry he had in regards to his mother. Any question she could ask, any chance she could get to embarrass him was far from a thought he was having.

Of course, when that level of comfort started settling in for (Y/N), the bright flash of a Polaroid camera went off, the sound of its shutter interrupting the quiet.

“Sorry about that!” Tsunade smiled, looking at the picture she took instead of the couple she ruined the moment of.

“Mom!” (Y/N) was too shocked to attempt a deadpan expression and flat tone. His ears started to heat up as his eyes went from Hinata, whose cheeks were a bright red, and his triumphant looking mother. 

“What?” She asked. “It was too cute, I needed the memory!” Tsunade attempted to defend herself. “That, and potential black mail.” With that, Tsunade made her way towards her son and his girlfriend, pinching (Y/N)’s cheek before holding out a hand to Hinata. “Nice to meet you, kiddo.”

(I really enjoyed writing this so ty for this request). now I'm simping for husbando kakashi- Also note I made it more like focusing how both y/n and kakashi are like a married couple and what they do/say to each other so hope that’s alright too ^^

synopsis: kakashi hatake is y/n’s husband, while you, as his wife, being a workaholic and how is both of your lives are like in a modern AU. (incoming some adorable headcanon-)

First off, you and I mean Y/N is the ONLY one who can see Kakashi without his mask. He feels that his wife is the only person in the world who is only allowed to see him without his mask and cause he loves and trusts you a lot. He feels only comfortable showing it to his amazing wife and no one else, not even Guy sensei (even though they were buddies since they were kids). His love for you is strong.

He would send you random messages during your work saying “Yo! make sure to take care of yourself alright?....Also, do you wanna order food tonight?”

You both work and I definitely see Kakashi in a modern AU with a job as a teacher and he would brag to you about his students. Especially Naruto (won’t shut the fuck up in the class) and Sasuke and how they always fight, making him slowly gonna lose it with them one day.

Also, he would talk to you about Shikamaru being such a rascal that gets on his nerves whenever he corrects him in class, or sleeps and whenever he says “Sensei, going to your lessons is such a drag..” and his friend Choji eats a lot of snacks at the back of the class but Kakashi secretly takes one of his snacks without him knowing.

Whenever he mentions them to you during dinner time, you feel at ease and even chuckle and start to relax. And he knows that cause he has seen you been so busy lately with work and he wants to always see you laugh and not tense up.

You both have the same timing of your break time so, you being such a workaholic, you try to even work during the breaks but someone stops you by doing that. Your awesome husband. Kakashi literally rings you even 5 minutes before your break from a video call.

You guys would defiantly match clothes and he loves that so much.

Kakashi catches you sometimes wearing his mask and he finds that so cute, it melts his heart. “Haha, you are so adorable!” and he would give you his happy face smile and hug you as you blush. You always get embarrassed and shy whenever he throws in comments such as “you look hot”, “you are my sweetheart” and etc.. and he knows that! but does it on purpose cause he likes to see how you get all red and especially in public ;)

During the weekends, he knows you wake up early to work and so he decided to change that and make the weekends to bake! Every morning in the weekend you guys would bake cookies and muffins and they smell and taste so good. (you eventually forget the load of work you had to do and Kakashi notices that and he gets happy lowkey-)

Okay, he is a big fan of reading, and so he loves reading comics and fanboys about it to you!

During your work, as you wait for the next customer you would get a random message from him and he would send screenshots of the comic and he’s like “Omg dear, did you read the latest chapter?!”. You know he is all excited so you texted him back. “Hm, No why?”. “Quick!! Go read it before I spoil it!”

Would chill and vibe with you for sure whenever you play some music and both of you are sitting at the balcony, stargazing.

He is in charge of cooking most of the time cause he knows you have more work than him and whenever he cooks, oh...it’s amazing and that’s one of the best things when you get back home after a long day.

He would brush your hair every time whenever you go out to work which is usually earlier than him

Whenever you sleep together, he would cover you up with the comforter while you sleep and would later hug you around your shoulders, he does that to hold you and also to shield you (it’s a habit of his and its cute)

He would give you also a thumbs up all the time before you leave and say “Good luck dear with work!” (it’s now your lucky charm before you leave work). Oh, and he would always remind you to take your lunch that he packs for you every early morning and he would usually put a cute little note there saying ‘Don't overwork yourself!’

I feel like he would get another small tattoo on his wrist after marrying Y/N.

During breaks if your work place is near his, you guys would have cafe break dates and he would literally recharge even if he sees a glimpse of you.

You guys have his pet dog, Pakkun, one of his smallest cute dogs who is usually grumpy but ever since Pakkun met you, they loved you instantly and listens to you instead of Kakashi. Ha....This damn dog. He would think and twitch his eyes as Pakkun is all over you. (The dog is doing that on purpose to piss Kakashi off).

Makes you stay up with him late at night reading comics and the stories you both like to spazz about it and he loves doing that with you.

All his students thought he is a lonely sad man who lives alone with his dog and reads comics.

He once caught Naruto using his phone in class and he was going to give him detention but....he was shocked to find him reading the comic that Kakashi and his wife liked the most.

Kakashi: “Naruto! I told you not to use your......Oh.” Damn he is in chapter 34 already?! I need to caught up, this little kid is fast.  

“Hm...Sensei?...WAIT! YOU READ IT TOO!” Naruto would scream and get up from his seat. “Naruto, shut up you are being loud.” Shit.

He would text you immediately after that. “Omg...Y/N! Naruto reads our favorite comic!!”

Y/N: “NO WAY! Bond with this kid, he seems cool.”

After that, his favorite student is Naruto and they become pretty close but still finds him annoying, although Kakashi finds him as a good kid. And when they have parent teacher conference, Kakashi wouldn’t mention to Minato and Kushina that he uses his phone during class or skipping some classes.

A/N: I had a lot of fun with this, and I was so tempted to make it smutty but alas I practiced self control.

The village is bathed in orange light as the sun sets over Konoha. Obito sits alone on the rooftop, his eyes trained on the stone-carved face of his former sensei. His memories of being on Team Minato play in his head.

The journey to redemption had been long and difficult. Obito expected to die helping Naruto save the world, coming to fully accept his fate. Things didn’t happen that way, instead, he found himself having to face living. It was a scenario he’d not planned for at all. Kakashi had pulled every string possible to be able to give Obito a second chance.

“It’s what Rin would’ve wanted,” Kakashi had told him.

Rin.

Obito sighs as he tries to focus on his breathing in an attempt to clear his thoughts. His attention is pulled away from the air filling his lungs when he hears your feet hitting the rooftop. He turns to you slowly, his chest blossoms with warmth when his eyes fall on your shy smile.

You’ve been gone for a couple of weeks now on a mission, and Obito felt a tugging in his chest the entire time you were gone. It’d taken him a while to realize it was because he missed you. Truthfully, it was that realization which brought him here. Trying to come to terms with what it all means. Of everyone in Konoha, you were the first to truly accept his presence. You reached out to make friends with him despite his initial insistence on keeping you at arm’s length. Little by little he felt himself warming up to you, eventually coming to crave your presence when you’re away on missions or too busy with your other duties to hang around much.

“I thought I might find you here,” you say quietly. “What’s on your mind Obito?”

“Nothing really,” he shrugs. “Just trying to clear my mind a bit.”

“Hm, me too,” you hum.

Obito smiles weakly, “How did your mission go?”

You shrug, “Boring.”

You lay your head on his shoulder and let out a small sigh. A thought was bursting forth in your brain. The words linger on your tongue, but the way Obito tenses at the closeness you’ve presented causes them to stay trapped there. You bring your head back up to study the stern eyes of the past Hokage staring back at you.

“I missed you,” Obito says finally.

“You stole the words right out of my mouth,” you smile.

Obito feels his cheeks grow warm. He turns his face away from you to hide the pink dusting across his cheeks. Obito is certain by now you’ve noticed how flustered gets around you but is grateful that you don’t feel the need to point it out. There are so many things he’s grateful for where you’re concerned he lost count long ago.

You lean back on your hands, your hair falling behind your shoulders.

“Hey, maybe since I’m gonna be home for a while we should find something fun to do,” you suggest with a bright smile.

His heart pounds in his chest, “Oh yeah?”

“I could use a trip to the hot springs,” you suggest. “Or maybe we could find a carnival or something.”

“You choose,” Obito smiles.

I’d follow you anywhere, he thinks to himself as he looks at your sweet face. He wants to say it but keeps the sentiment to himself.

“I don’t deserve to love again,” Obito says in a hoarse whisper as he stares at Rin’s headstone.

His fingers trace over her name as light as a feather. Tears sting his eyes as he feels so consumed with guilt. He’d been willing to burn the world down for a chance to be with Rin again, but now he finds those feelings fading each day as you make a home in his heart.

Rin is always watching, he keeps telling himself. How would she feel to know he’s fallen in love with someone else? Is she watching it happen while being so helpless to stop it?

He turns these questions over in his mind until he gets the feeling he’s being watched. His hand pulls away from her gravestone to look around the grounds, finally spotting Kakashi leaning against the gate.

“I heard you were visiting the hot springs,” Kakashi says as he begins to walk toward Obito.

“We’re supposed to leave tomorrow.”

“Good,” Kakashi nods. “That’ll be good for you.”

Obito furrows his eyebrows at his friend, “Why?”

“Because you and y/n are close,” Kakashi shrugs. “Maybe this will give you a chance to bond.”

Obito’s chest feels heavy at Kakashi’s words. Was it so obvious? He shoves his hands in his pockets, pulling his eyes away from Kakashi back to Rin’s memorial.

“I think Rin would be very happy for you,” Kakashi’s voice has fallen to a soft whisper.

“Maybe,” Obito sighs.

“She would be,” Kakashi persists. “All Rin ever wanted was for you to be happy, Obito. If this makes you happy, then she would be fully supportive.”

“I don’t deserve this.”

“Love is not about deserving it.”

“What do you know about love?” Obito spits back, not even understanding why Kakashi’s words bothered him so much.

Kakashi just shrugs, as unbothered as ever. Obito groans because he knows Kakashi is right.

“I hope you don’t mind that I booked us just one room,” you say as Obito sets his things down. “It’s all they had on such short notice. Plus side though, we have a private onsen!”

Obito smiles, “It’s fine. We can take turns.”

You giggle, “We don’t have to do that. I trust you not to be a pervert.”

Obito’s cheeks turn bright pink. His heart pounds in his chest. Truthfully he doesn’t know if you should trust him so much. He’d never do anything to hurt you, but he’s not sure if he could stop himself from at least looking at you. Even in your usual loose-fitting clothes, he finds you absolutely gorgeous. Seeing your soft skin would be very difficult to resist.

But also, he’s scared of you seeing him. He’s still a bit insecure about the scars on his face. Your eyes never linger on the scars too much, in fact on more than one occasion you’re pressed a soft kiss to his cheek as though they weren’t even there. He’s worried this may change once you see the way they’re stretched over half his body.

You unpack your things in the room despite wanting to just strip off and jump into the hot water. Obito isn’t as neat as you. His clothes get shoved into the drawer, but he lingers awkwardly in the room once he realizes there’s no other way to get around the main purpose of this trip.

“I’m gonna get in now,” you say quickly. Obito realizes you’ve also been trying to get around it.

“Maybe you should get in first,” he suggests. “So I can’t see anything?”

“Hm, or we can just undress at the same time? That way we just won’t worry about it anymore.”

Obito swallows hard, “Are you sure?”

You laugh despite the blush on your cheeks, “We might as well. I don’t want us to spend the whole trip trying to avoid nudity. We’re at a hot spring after all.”

“I just,” Obito looks down at the floor. “You know these scars aren’t just on my face and neck.”

Your lips tighten into a frown as you step forward. Obito’s eyes slowly trail to your sad face. He’s not sure what he expected, but to feel your arms wrap around him was not it. Your lips brush against his cheek before you look up at him.

“Obito, you fool,” you say as you stare into his eyes. “I don’t care about that at all.”

Tears prick his eyes, and a knot begins forming in his throat. He opens his mouth as it becomes harder to breathe. Your eyes are so filled with adoration it’s overwhelming.

“You don’t?”

“Of course not. I was gonna wait until dinner but I guess I should just say it now,” you take a shaky breath. “Obito, I think you’re gorgeous.”

He bites back the sobs threatening to escape him, “Really?”

You lay your head on his chest to hide your flushed face, “Of course. I just didn’t know how to tell you. I-”

“I love you!” Obito blurts out as his arms tighten around you.

You look up at him with tears filling your eyes, “Obito, I love you too. I was so worried you wouldn’t feel the same way I just-”

He steals your words with a clumsy kiss. His heart feels like it’s going to burst when you eagerly kiss him back. Your hands move to tangle in his hair, and you raise on your tiptoes to deepen the kiss. Obito breathes you in, wanting your affection to wash over him and erase all his insecurity. By the time you pull away, both of you struggle to catch your breaths.

As your hands trace over his cheeks with a small smile, Obito can’t believe his luck.

six people in a house is gonna need a house cleaner to come over twice every week, and that mans name is levi. he usually doesn’t mind his job but when it comes to this house, he questions his life choices.

anyway! yeah what goes down? well let’s go through every room!

first off we’ll start with eren cause :p his room is like every other guys, sports achievement trophies on his shelf’s, signed jerseys hung on the wall and the same checkered sheets that he hasn’t changed in a while.

it’s always somehow always messy.

he does spend a considerable amount of time in their just playing on his play station, probably only comes out to get food.

and ofc he has l.e.d.s 🙄

next is armin! his is so quaint i love it

it just screams armin. books after books along his floor to ceiling book shelf, desk with every stationary you could think of. and is bed is always made and not a spec of dirt on the floor.

doesn’t spend too much time in his room and spends more time downstairs with the others.

as well as that he has an alcohol stand that has just bottles of beer to the most expensive tequila.

he has this speaker that quite literally shakes the floor and never doesn’t have music playing. even if it’s 2am that things going.

sasha </3 her room is just, you’d want to live in it that’s all i can say.

has like three mini fridges, two beside lockers all full of snacks and drinks.

her bed is the comfiest in the whole house, everyone comes into her room just to lay in it for a while.

has this really soft rug that she loves to lie on when watching tv or her laptop.

binges a lot of shows so she doesn’t come out of her room unless she wants to watch it downstairs with the others

and jean and connie are either in each others rooms or fixing jeans car that keeps breaking down. with vv loud music ofc.

during the day though is like the same except the boys are probably out in the back garden playing basketball while mikasa and sasha watch on the grass catching some rays 😎

connie is forever scaring anyone and recording it. he has about 10 montages on tiktok of him hiding in a cupboard or even just around the corner and scaring someone. most times it’s jean cause he a scaredy-cat. did it to eren and he gave him a black eye out of ‘reflexes’

they love spending nights together sitting on the couch and watching different movies or just sitting together and talking.

dinner is spent at the table together every night and it’s honestly everyone’s favourite time of the day.

omg cleaner levi who comes to clean twice a week, connie gets on his nerves soo bad pls😭 he’s always asking him questions and being like “yo big man you need a hand?”

jean and connie spend a lot of time in each other’s rooms just sitting on the bed and scrolling through tiktok and sometimes eren joins and though the two won’t admit it, jean and eren love it when he does cause they have suuuch laughs pls i’m talking tears and sore sides.

Y’all this is one of the BEST A/B/O fics I’ve ever read with STEAMING hot smut! All while also having excellent worldbuilding, character interactions and plot!!

favourite thing about them: i love how he contributes to the worldbuilding (like neji), because these characters are usually the most interesting ones, i think he was overall very interesting in part 1, i like his whole conflict with love and also how he talked to his siblings after his fight with naruto

least favourite thing about them: how he was sidelined and watered down in part 2

favourite line: when he says he’d like to become precious to others 🥺 or “i used to think ‘friend’ was just another word... nothing more, nothing less. but when i met you, i realized what was important was the word’s meaning”

unpopular opinion: he shouldn’t have become kazekage so young, the whole kazekage thing makes no sense (idk if this is actually that unpopular), i also think he’s kinda boring in part 2, i like his friendship with naruto, don’t get me wrong, but he changed so drastically, he should’ve had more spice and his development should’ve been more gradual

kind of disappointing to see you supporting something like H*talia, I liked your art a lot but you support one of the most racist anime out there....

Okay. Lets talk about this. I’m actually going to copy and paste something I already wrote on my main blog about Hetalia then I’ll add a few notes... Yes. Hetalia the show is problematic. I garentee most sane Hetalia fans will agree, the fandom is probably going to go down in fandom culture history as one of the first disaster fandoms way before the fandoms that surrounded voltron or Steven Universe. Again, most Hetalia fans will also probably agree with that. There’s certain bits from the comic and show that are absolutely not okay- however for those of you making a ton of assumptions about ppl who were in that fandom or are excited about the possibility of it coming back-> let me just explain a few things.

1. Hetalia made massive history nerds out of a lot us, it’s not that didn’t have some problematic results and of course it’s very euro-centric. But I’d argue because of this show It made a lot of people interested in the world and history way more than they ever would have and educated themselves further as a result

ADDED NOTE: The fandom, while small, I’d say has grown up a LOT. The people in it are a lot more informed and aware - The abbreviation was changed pretty damn quick as people started coming back with the new season announced from “APH” (Axis Powers Hetalia - We can all know what’s wrong with that) to “HWS” (Hetalia World Stars).

2. If you were a fan of Hetalia…. that honestly actually meant you were more a fan of the fandom than the actual show. Hetalia has more AUs than probably any fandom I’ve EVER seen: these people made a ton of content Off of characters that appeared in episodes less than 5 minutes long. It got to the point where a lot of people’s interpretations of the characters were SO far removed from the original show they may as well just be entirely new characters. I’m not going to sit here and argue like the fandom couldn’t get toxic, I was there, I remember. This is absolutely a piece of media you SHOULD ABSOLUTELY still be critical of and many many many many many people since the day Hetalia showed it’s face and the ended up getting a creepy pasta story made out of it already have. We’ve been here. Fans have used these characters as an easy way to inform and educate, even more so now than there used to be. So any new fans coming in as well may actually learn a lot about history and other cultures. Which can be really important when done right. It CAN aND HAS been done responsibly. So at the very least if you see a few current or ex Hetalians on your radar just don’t automatically assume shit. It’s way more complicated, we’ve all been through this shit before. Us oldies have seen and understood many a fandom through aaaaaallll the highs and lows.  We were there. We know both the bad and the good that can come from this, as is the case with literally any fandom ever. All of them can be great, creative, and create friendships and community (I have my long term best friend in large part due to Hetalia) … and they can also be latched on to by people who aren’t gonna have others best interests at heart, and are gonna try and use something for bigotry or being just gross. That’s why you stay I n f o r m e d above all else. If you weren’t there for this whole rodeo before, just… at least get the idea that this ain’t a cut and dry situation FURTHER ADDITION: “One of The most racist anime” is a pretty bold claim. Shows like Attack on Titan I would argue have way more damaging mixed messaging around the holocast and nazism. However I wouldn’t go so far to call fans of it racist. Because either A. People aren’t focusing on that aspect of the anime and just like the cool action or B. They know but they’re consuming and reacting to it critically and making informed choices about where they put their money and time. Naruto and Once Peice - two of THE MOST POPULAR ANIME for a LONG time out there, have characters that are EXTREMELY racist charactures of black people but no one talked about that for a long time. I would also argue that yes, the Hetalia dub has some very racist and problematic things with it, we should all get on funimation’s ASS about that, however, the original sub is mostly harmless outside of just plain not acknowledging the horrors of the holocost - which I think since the show is supposed to stay a comedy is why the author steered away from having things set in the 1940s because at a certain point and most modern Hetalia strips don’t touch it - you either make a mockery of a serious topic (cough cough the musical in a lot of ways) , OR you don’t touch WWII and just keep the setting modern and you can continue making fun of Europeans especially all you want.

Point being, If I draw Hetalia fanart... that is not me putting a stamp of approval on everything in the show. If you see a Hetalia fan drawing a character in a Nazi uniform, or putting the pasty-ass character for America in a Native American headdress of course! Call them the fuck out! We are too! Report and block them! So... yeah. And look, I get it, from an outside perspective where the only thing you’ve heard about Hetalia is the absolutely WORST of it, of course you would feel that way, that’s how most Fandoms get a bad reputation. It IS good to talk about this. And if you or anyone still wants to disagree with me, look I’ll still hear you out... but I think we have to get out of this headspace in any fandom of EITHER YOU STAN EVERYTHING ABOUT SOMETHING AND SUPPORT EVERYTHING ABOUT IT OR YOU MUST HATE AND DESPISE IT. Life... human thoughts... just don’t work like that.

Mini Ino Ship Fic Rec Post!

this is 100% based off of my own personal preferences, but since Ino ships are the topic today and i dont want to study, i’m making a fic rec post for Ino ship fics that I like! i don’t make these often or ever, so there isn’t any particular order to them, though i’ll group ships together!

InoKarin, blank period with some fun blackmail! it’s a fun way to bring their characters character--Ino with her connections to T&I, and Karin as--well, Karin. I don’t really see a lot of this pairing, but this fic 100% made them work for me. I mean:  

Ino doesn’t answer immediately, and Karin can sense the blonde’s chakra simmering under the surface. She can almost taste it on her tongue, sweet like ice wine and dangerous as a poison-tipped senbon. They are both sensors of the highest of caliber, which leaves Karin wondering why she is so aware of the roiling storm brewing in the other woman.    

i love it so much. I think about that ice wine description literally all the time.

It’s a modern au kibaino based loosely off of Taylor Swift’s “Style.” There’s a lot of push and pull between Ino and Kiba, in a way that feels very authentic to both of their characters--Kiba is reckless and likes to talk, Ino is cruel and a little self-absorbed but in a way that makes their relationship more 🔥

Just... in general? just please read anything SpicedGold writes, regardless of pairings. this fic specifically is a multichapter fic that focuses on Ino raising Inojin with a learning disability, but of course Sai plays a huge role in it, and there are a lot of great moments between them in this fic, and Sai really stands out as a parent and partner. It also has a sequel fic titled Paper Flowers! 

https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13287417/1/ Perfect by milklvr! Mostly Ino-centric, but it gradually becomes InoSai in a very gradual and seamless way. It’s canon compliant, and when InoSai happens, it just feels right.

Hidan/Ino, which is a rarepair that works hilariously well here--lots of great banter, and Ino is just harsh enough to match up with Hidan’s brutality and foul mouth. The AU itself is a little hard to define? It’s Naruto-verse in the sense that there’s still chakra and the village is mostly the same, but there are guns and some other modern things. It’s inspired by Deadpool, but I’m not familiar enough with the comics or movie to elaborate on that further! it’s still in progress, but according to the desc, it only has one chapter left to go!

https://www.archiveofourown.org/works/24717271 Surrogate by Clementive! I LOVE this au! It’s a modern au with SasuIno, where Ino is Sasuke’s surrogate mother. Honestly, I think I would love this premise for any pairing, but it fits them especially well--one thing that I really appreciate is how well Ino’s story holds its own against Sasuke’s. He’s a hard character to match in terms of angst and backstory, but Ino’s own story here is a really good compliment to his without really moving outside of the scope of what the au equivalent of her canon backstory would be.
