(Hey, sorry this took me so long to answer! Lost the question list for a time.)

Tsubaki: Is your character bothered by the sight of blood? If so, in what way?

This is a tough one to answer, between how I tend to respond to blood and the amount of violence inherent in MMOs. Tsubaki absolutely got bothered by blood in ARR, especially after growing up in conflict-averse Sharlayan. Over time though, I think she would have to get used to it. It's a tragic thing, but after spilling so much in her duties as a Warrior, it's either adjust or go mad. In what way, I don't care to examine that much, though I don't think she's as severe as I am.

Bryne: Has your character ever witnessed something that fundamentally changed them? If so, does anyone else know?

Almost certainly. The trouble's just picking out a particular moment, since he certainly goes through a lot, but the story isn't especially fleshed out with what those beats are (and which one would hit the hardest.)

Thinking on it, I think what actually impacts him most is seeing how much the Chosen Ones got mistreated by the systems around them, before he, Kara, and Ivy got involved. There's no particular moment for this one as much as a growing realization as the story progresses. The Chosen are so heavily stereotyped and propagandized, it's an unbearable amount of pressure for anybody to go through. Bryne just assumes the Archimages hate him because he wound up with the choosy magical artifact instead of their Golden Boy. It takes a while to realize that no, actually this is quite normal, and has probably gone on for generations before theirs. There's a reason Leben and his friends nearly break themselves trying to prove they're still useful/relevant after they're unchosen. It's all quite tragic and horrifying, and Bryne's determined to make sure it doesn't happen to anyone ever again.

white river ranch, currently owned and run by tyson clay weaver. named after the river that runs through the property that isaac weaver ( tyson and bryne's father. ) met julia beckett ( their mother. ) swimming in. love at first sight, and it was with julia's expertise that the ranch flourished. white river are known for breaking in and training horses, some of the best horses in the rodeo and racing circuit come from white river.

tyson clay weaver. 40. ranch owner, wrangler and trainer. retired bronc rider now owner of white river ranch due to the death of his father isaac. he loved the rodeo's growing up, always annoying the wranglers to take him to them in town when he was younger, spent more time on a horse than he did his own two feet. knew exactly who and what he wanted to be at a young age, and his parents were supportive of that decision, even if the thought of it scared the shit out of julia. he married soon into his twenties to marissa preston, but as soon as he retired to return to work for his father due to his illness she left him ... enjoying his rodeo life, but not the ranch life. they aren't divorced, just seperated for the time being. she lives in the city, and that's not the life for him.

bryne julia weaver. 26. barrel racer and aspiring country singer. she was an unplanned pregnancy between aging parents who thought they were done having children --- having three prior to her. the pregnancy was high risk due to julia's age, but saw it as a sign and despite doctor's warnings she went through with the pregnancy, wanting the child. julia unfortunately did not survive the pregnancy, opting to save bryne and died a few hours after the birth. enjoys the ranch life but wants something more for herself. she's a damn talented barrel racer, but her hearts in music and that's what she wants to do with herself. tyson thinks her head's in the clouds, but otherwise trying to be supportive of her.

grant jason walker. 28. wrangler and ranch - hand. nephew to tyson and bryne through their sister, lucy weaver. unfortunately at a young age the walker family got into a bad car accident, and the only one that survived was the young grant. sent to live with tyson, who lucy named his godfather as well as giving custody to him in any event something happened to them. he's a bit standoff-ish, preferring the company of animals than that of people, but it makes him a damn good horse trainer. he bull rides when the rodeo is in town, but due to tyson not having any children, he's being prepped to take over the ranch at some stage so he's concentrating on that.

Ok so the ocs from last night are the Black Family + 1 (and the messy polycule) and you've already met 4 of them before!

I made an OC post a few months back because I had kinda included them in a fic.

So the four you've met before are Lex Black, Ali Duke, and Orpheia and Hycthina LeBeau. But I didn't go into much detail then.

(They live and interact at whatever age I want so only age differences really matter. And i will do picrews later.)

Ali Duke

She is the eldest of all the cousins, being almost a full year older than Lex

Her full name is Alice Cybele Duke (well its actually Alix Cybele but everyone ignores that and all legal documentswith it were "lost"), but because Alice and Alex sound too similar, she goes by Ali and Alexander goes by Lex

She is a massive lesbian. Like very disaster levels of lesbian

The family is very old money and such everyone has to learn an instrument. Hers is the flute.

She is also extremely buff. (I swear she was like this before I read tlt. Any resemblance to Gideon is completely accidental and entirely hilarious)

Her birthday is April 9th

Lex Black

Lex is the eldest of all his siblings (in total being 6 all together, 4 blood and 2 god)

His full name is Alexander Rodolphus Castor Black

He's bi but happily dating/engaged (depending on where I'm playing) to Mary

He learned piano classically but perfers acoustic guitar

The eldest daughter, being 2 yearing younger than Lex

Her full name is Cecelia Helene Madison

She's transfem and a lesbian

She's an esteemed cello player

She's on the weaker side of the family but still is fairly fit

Hycthina LeBeau

Hycthina is the older twin by 2 hours and is god siblings with Lex and the others

Orpheia, while being the younger twin, is the one everyone assumes is older

She's Asexual and Panromantic (and poly but it takes her forever to realize that)

Having learned several instruments including but not limited to flute, piano, violin, and clarinet, her favorite is guitar.

She's a dancer, performing lyrical or contemporary, but she use to swim competively when she was a kid

Barty is the middle kid, being a year younger than Cecelia (and Hycthina and Orpheia)

Philip Madison

Philip is the youngest boy in the whole family, being 8 years younger than Barty and a whole 12 year younger than Ali, and is the older twin to Anastasia

Oh, some tough ones! Lets see…

Labradorite: What made you fall in love with your wip? What motivates you to write it?

It Goes On: I fell in love with the world here: the magic, the history, the people. I came up with a fun concept for the setting, and the world building that came from that just kept going and going! It’s become the sort of thing that I can only really share with people by telling the story proper.

Runestone: The characters, and particularly their relationships, keep me coming back to this one! There are characters in both WIPs that have been around since I was in middle school— I think the oldest characters in this one recently turned ten years old! Bryne, Leben, and Kara have been around forever, and I remain fond of them.

Emerald: Which of your characters is hardest to write?

It Goes On: The protagonist everyone! Alexander Tedros is the rebellious prince character if their stubbornness was not charming, but in fact deeply problematic. He is a smartass, snide to anybody he meets, and fully convinced that the world will bow to him simply because he’s heir to the throne. He’s an entitled little shit, and I, the author, am not used to having that mentality. He does learn to be a little more humble over time, but it will take some practice to nail down his personality in the early chapters.

Runestone: Despite being one of the original three, Kara’s personality has always stumped me. She’s bounced across many tropes in my attempts to characterize her— the prep, the jock, the smart guy, even the villain from time to time— but nothing has ever felt quite right. I don’t have the heart to get rid of her, but she just doesn’t fit in the plot as snugly as Bryne, Leben, and Ivy do.
