even though they kinda fumbled the ending there i still really liked book 8

the characters being genuinely compelling and likeable really helped carry the story even when the feh writers couldn’t even bother to skip the generic banner character dialogue to explain things like, i don’t know, how eikthyrnir actually figured out how to kill laeradr.

still, though, after book 7 got to the point where i was just skipping the plot to just finish the maps and get the orb rewards, having a book where i was genuinely enjoying engaging with the story was nice.

i was also correct about me liking ratatoskr— she was a genuinely solid character. that part at the end when she confronts laeradr and the book theme started playing was a nice touch when the rest of the final chapter was a little underwhelming.

Looks like the summoner gets hurt again and i'm guessing this how we meet her. Also I notice Heidrun's got a deer tale there.

Oh now we know what Laedradr looks like.

Okay I'm not gonna lie, this is probably gonna be me everytime Eikbyrnir is onscreen.

I like how the Summoner took a shot at Laedradr. Kind of makes my "It is on sight!" post fitting in hindsight.

Alfonse: My "Summoner is in trouble again" senses are tingling.

Yelp I'm guessing this how we the Summoner ends up with the broken ribcage in the beginning scene of this.

Eikbyrnir looks like he's willing to hear Ratatoskr out. His expressions here make me suspect that Laedradr might be lying to him.

I wonder how these two are related to Ratatoskr?

Oh I do not like the look of that...

The Feh Channel mentioned that Laedradr can bury hearts, so I wonder what that means for Rataoskr here?

But then I remember that FEH has so far not gone through with killing off a F2P OC, so they'll probably be a way to save her if it does happen.

Vaike is officially the only playable character in Awakening who isn't in Heroes and that makes me sad because I like him

Lucina gets another alt because Intsys can't imagine a new heroes banner without an alt on it nowadays. Inigo and Severa also join the cast. VALIDAR !

Book time : I am so glad that Kozaki is back because those designs are so much better than what we got in Book 7. The characters are the Yggdrasil critters with Ratatoskr (Who was teased in one of the books I don't remember which) being our free OC. Her sisters are Nidhogg whose design I really like but why is the villainous girl dark skinned ? Intsys ? And Hraesvelgr the eagle girl. We also have a tiny glimpse of two new characters : a grey haired girl who seems to be Heidrun and a hot guy (Who is going to have a lifespan of 2 chapters) who I 100% believe is Eikthyrnir.

We also get yet another "omg are they going to die" moment with Veronica and with Henriette. And while I don't believe Intsys would kill Veronica... Henriette is a queen and is Alfonse and Sharena's only parent. It's a 50/50

I love a character raised to be a weapon as much as the next guy. But what really gets me is a character raised to be a shield. Who can’t fathom being needed—or even being wanted— beyond keeping others safe. Who believe they are alive only to insure someone doesn’t die. no matter the cost. Characters who self-sacrifice not because they think they deserve it, but because no one else does deserve it, and it’s their job to protect.

Characters who’ve been told that’s why your important. Your worth something because this other person/ thing is important, and you are here solely to keep them safe.

Bonus points if it’s not a legitimate job they’ve been given. Maybe at one point it was, but now that they are free from it, they haven’t given up that mentality. No one is forcing or asking them to do this, but they need to. They need to in order to be deserving.

as stupid as this may be I miss the "friends" I created when I was going through all that fun fuckery. Those who remember I'm still sorry about all that.

I miss drawing them and playing with them and just having them around. I know how they came to be but they're a huge part of me. Because of me basically pretending they were real they are literally my most developed characters, with full back stories, personalities, and lives.

I miss them, but this time they will just be characters I'm not going back to pretending they're actual people.

This is long as shit but I just wanted to say, I miss my "friends" and I want them back. So you'll be seeing a lot of them again!

Also I'm moving Cicada Grey away from being Kahnivore's husband, I'm going back to making Rem and Baleficent her spouses.

I don't know what I'll do with Cicada right now.
