So, these amazing teenagers did a thing... Ahava and Ziva had their first nightwatch ever! So proud of them! • As much as we didn't want to ever leave Maine, Mother Nature forced our hand as winter is fast approaching. So we launched yesterday morning for a 27 hour crossing to Cape Cod, Massachusetts. It was a WILD ride as we were in 10+ foot swells, at least 70 miles offshore.The girls took the 7:30pm - 2:30am watch and did an fantastic job! • We have arrived safely to the much more sheltered Cape Cod canal. In high spirits this afternoon leaving Vuda marina and beginning our journey from Fiji to New Caledonia after a pretty stressful time trying to get through immigration. First they were coming to their office in the marina at 10am. Then 12pm. Then not at all! Some kind of cock up! Had to get a taxi with my previous skipper, and next skipper into town to get the paperwork stamped for change of crew! On return to the marina the customs lady still didn't really look happy. We got there in the end! You've gotta laugh. I got a stamp in my passport after all. The skipper's beers came out basically as soon as we cleared the shallows outside the marina..... . .
