Okay I have a few ideas...

Octo-Mer Sebastian with his deep dark tentacles, milky cream white suckers under the purpley tendrils, kissing and suckling into your skin as he curiously pokes and prods at you.

His sharp, fanged teeth carefully nip at your neck, humanoid form cool against your skin, wet chest on your own, inky hair dripping salty water.

His eyes are curious and his tentacles show it too, sticky on your skin, oozing some kind of sweet essence, something tacky and a little thick left in the wake of his tendrils.

It warms up your skin, a higher contrast to the cool pinch of his suckers, to the wet of his body. He hums and chirps, gills flaring on his neck.

A pointed, wiggling mass creeps up your inner thigh, poking, prodding, searching even, seeming to preen happily when it finds the soft of your cunt, the tip circling around your hole, leaving that sticky jammy slick behind. Your body flushes, pussy gushing hot drool, as if a hose was suddenly turned on in your gut- Yoba, what was happening....?

A different kind of Inkfish (Marina x Octoling!Reader)

You were sitting outside of Crusty Sean's food truck, you stared at the menu as you felt eyes on you. Sweat dripped from your head as you adjusted your hat, making sure your rounded ears couldn't be seen. You were surprised you've gotten away with it for so long. Suddenly, however you saw an Inkling staring at your hair, tilting their head ever so curiously.

"Your hair.." The inkling spoke up. Oh GOD. This is it you're gonna be exposed as an octoling and be sent back it's SO OVER-

"I love how exotic it is!" The inkling smiled "How did you get your suction cups to appear on the outside like that?"

"It's uh.." you felt your throat get dry "It's a species thing."

You weren't TECHICALLY lying.

"OH COOL! Nice to see a squid with cool features! Keep being fresh!" The inkling beamed as they walked off.

You let out a sigh as you placed a drink ticket on the table. With a smile, Sean took your food ticket and got to work. Pressing your back against the food cart, you let out a breath. You could finally relax..

Just then, however you saw as a figure approached you. She had a pair of clunky headphones, cyan fingertips, and a leather jacket. But the thing you INSTANTLY took notice of was the suction cups on the outside of her locks.

You almost fell over in shock and she noticed. Then she noticed the same suction cups on your hair. There was at least a solid minute of you two just staring at each other.. at this that's what it felt like. You had heard of Marina but you never expected to meet her in person.

"Ah! I uh.." Marina scanned over your outfit and noticed a squid sisters pin "A fellow Squid Sisters fan! Fresh! We should totally sit together!" trying to subtly hint something.

You got what she was laying down and proceeded to nod.

You two grabbed your drinks and sat down, a little bit away from the inklings, enough that they wouldn't overhear anything. Marina checked around before looking at you with her emerald eyes.

"Okay so.. you're an octoling, right?" You whispered, pointing at her suction cups.

"YES!" She said with a hint of relief, she fiddled with her headphones.

There was a collective sigh between you two as you slouched your backs a bit. Marina fiddled with her straw, trying to think of what to talk about first.

"It's so nice to meet a fellow octoling!" Marina smiled at you, her fangs showing off in the daylight.

"Me too! It's been so hard just.. lying that I'm a different species of squid." You tapped your hand against your plastic cup, excitedly.

"Do you get people saying your hair looks exotic?" Marina points out.

"ALL. THE TIME." You laughed a bit.

You two exchanged some conversations about being and Octoling and the struggles of having to adjust to inkopolis. You found yourselves with a pair of empty cups, still sitting at the picnic table.

Marina looked at her phone and her eyes widened "Oh ink I gotta dash!". She rubbed the back of her neck, not wanting to stop talking to you.

You nodded "Alright!". You were a little sad that the conversation was ending but it looked like Marina had an idea.

The cyan octoling looked left and right and looked around in her pockets and grabbed a napkin. She then proceeded to get out a pen and wrote.. was that her number?

"Here! It's always nice to talk to a fellow squid sisters fan.." Marina handed you the napkin and winked.

You grabbed the napkin as you watched Marina walk away. As you got up and walked in another direction, you felt less alone in Inkopolis.

in my head, they think their eyes are a little strange at most and that the rounded ears and differently placed fangs are some kind of cultural or personal fashion thing! and like in splatoon, they all think he just has a strange (but cool!) hairstyle

and then in the loops (which im thinking maybe could be tied to humans, idk ill figure the details out later. or maybe sif gets their mind transported digitally into the loops somehow a bit like side order!) whenever they all reach the king, they notice the same 'hairstyle' but the similarities stop there.

Hi tumblr, this is a complete list of every ingredient you need (minus rupees) to upgrade all armor pieces in Tears of the Kingdom to full. I saw them in lists per set/item, but that didn't scratch my "run around collecting all the things efficiently then upgrade everything all at once" AuDHD gamer itch so I did it myself. Splatoon brain won't shut up until I posted this, so here's some weapon kits that the Deep Sea Brawl skins would use. Basically what weapon class, sub weapon, and special they would have if they were allowed to mix and match their own things in game.

I'll try to pick out items that match their Brawl Stars abilities but i wont be making any new thing up for this little idea. Ill also be explaining my ideas and thought process for choosing them. Feel free to suggest other things in the comments or reblogs

Sharktooth Colt

Main Weapon: Dualies

(Self explanatory. Dual pistols = Dualies)

Sub Weapon: Splat Bomb or Torpedo

(Splat Bombs are the most iconic and 'basic' of the bombs and Colt has a pretty basic kit. Torpedo is meant to be a substitute for the Silver Bullet.)

Special: Trizooka

(Trizooka is one of the longest reaching specials of the game thats also considered to be a 'basic' but powerful special.)

Octo Fang

Main Weapon: Brush or Splatana

(Both Brushes and Splatanas can work with Fang. Brushes are primarily a close-range weapon that doesn't paint well, which can reflect on Fang's melee fighting style and his poor area control. Splatanas are mid-ranges weapons that has two modes of attack and a slashing dash move, which can represent Fang's shoe kick and a bit of his super as well.)

Sub Weapon: Torpedo or Burst Bomb

(Torpedo can act as a substitute for his Popcorn gadget due to the pattern it explodes in after it targets an enemy. Burst Bomb is just quick extra damage, which would work well for an assassin like him.)

Special: Zipcaster

(There was only one choice. Zipcaster allows the user to spiderman their way into advantageous places to take down their enemies. This matches Fang's super where he dashes and chains into his opponents.)

[Extra Note: The Octobursh (Brush, Suction Bomb, Zipcaster) and Splatana Stamper (Splatana, Burst Bomb, Zipcaster) are almost perfect picks for him. I personally prefer the Octobrush for him though, partially because I main that weapon and partially because of the pun]

Coral Belle

Main Weapon: Charger

(Self Explanatory. For those who are unaware, Charger is the name of the Sniper class in Splatoon.)

Sub Weapon: Ink Mines or Angle Shooter

(Ink Mines would simulate her Nest Egg gadget, with the added tracking of Ink Mines working like her super. Angle Shooter is a long reaching sub that not only bounces off walls but also adds tracking, which simulates her other gadget and her super.)

Special: Killer Wail 5.0

(Killer Wail 5.0 is a long reaching special that locks on an enemy and aims at them for its whole duration, simulating her super and her hypercharge at once. Its the 5.0 version because that is the latest version and better simulates her kit.)

Tentacle Bonnie

Main Weapon: Slosher or Blaster

(Picking something out for Bonnie's dual changing Tank and Assassin nature was difficult. Both Sloshers and Blasters can play agressively in close range or supportively in long range, which fits Bonnie well.)

Sub Weapon: Burst Bomb

(Something quick, easy, and doez decent damage would suit Bonnie well. No further comments.)

Special: Triple Splashdown or Crab Tank

(Triple Splashdown would simulate Bonnie's form change from Cannon to Bonnie. This special can be activated while in super jump so even the execution works. Crab Tank can simulate a suped up version of her cannon Clyde)

[Extra Note: an S-Blast would be perfect to simulate her two attacking modes since that can fire close and long ranged shots. But the rest of its kits don't fully match my ideas here.]

Cuttlefish Jacky

Main Weapon: Blaster or Brush or Slosher

(Jacky was the hardest to pick something from because there really is nothing like her attack. Blaster is meant for the burst damage powerful damage, Brush is for the up close melee damage, and Slosher is just kind of a nod to her being a construction/demolition worker.

Sub Weapon: Suction Bomb

(Suction Bomb is the strongest sub weapon in Splatoon so it felt fitting to put it here.)

Special: Booyah Bomb

(The Booyah Bomb is a simple special that drops a big explosion on the map. Not super related to anything Jacky does but it is a big circle like her super.)

Shell Blaster Gale

Main Weapon: Shooter or Blaster

(Shooters are the basic guns of Splatoon, and while Gale's attack isn't the most basic, ots more simple than what Jacky or Bonnie have. Blaster is here because of the name.)

Sub Weapon: Sprinkler or Squid Beacon

(Sprinkler is meant to replicate his tornado gadget as a spinning thing that can do some area denial. Squid Beacon is like the reverse springloader gadget, where teammates jump to it instead of using it to jump away.)

Special: Splattercolor Screen

(Splattercolor Screen is a massive wall of ink that does minor damage and disrupts the visuals and audio of the game, which acts somehwat like Gale's super. The visuial and audio disruption could act as a substitute for being blown away and slowed.)

Ephyra and Fry should have crushes on the binary brothers!

There are so many parallels!

Ephyra and Fry were bullied for similar reason as Eli and Demetri

Also there is something interesting about Ephyra being an outcast because she’s dangerous(jellyfish) and Eli becoming more dangerous because he was an outcast (anger issues and karate)

Ooh I love that dynamic.

When they're young, the little ephyra thinks Eli is so cute. She's too scared to get close to him because she doesn't want to accidentally sting him. So she keeps her distance.

As they get older, Eli grows more dangerous and adventurous. He gets sharp fangs and claw-like nails, which gets him a bit of an edge. And jellyfish mermaid!Reader falls for him even more as he swims through the water so proud. She hides just to watch him wrestle with other mermen and move big debris after huge storms.

Omg imagine Reader is getting hassled by big mean merman!Kyler and his goons. They've taken her bag and are throwing it between them like it's a ball. They're too fast and she can't catch it. As she's swimming around them, they're messing with her frilly tentacles, batting at them with their claws and slashing at her. It puts her out of balance, messing with her swim pattern and dangerously close to cutting up her pretty, frilly tentacles.

Hawk sees them and she's so disoriented. Kyler slashes one of her frills and she cries out. She comes to a complete stop and starts to pull herself in, cowering to them and it's obvious she's hurt.

In seconds, Hawk is swimming over and shoving Kyler away from her. He puts himself between him and Reader, angry and baring his fangs at the bully. "What is wrong with you?!"

It should be obvious that their claws could hurt her. So what if she can hurt them by stinging them with her tentacles? Her tentacles and exumbrella are still soft and delicate! 😡😡 they should know better

And Hawk is not backing down. He's ready to throw them around and show them just how much his claws hurt.

Meanwhile, octopus mermaid!Reader and Demetri are on the side. Demetri darts in and takes Jellyfish!Reader out of the middle of the tension that's about to snap. Octo!Reader tends to her bestie and consoles her. Demetri helps, making a makeshift bandage for her injured tentacle. As they work together to help the sweet Jellyfish!Reader, they keep stealing glances at each other but they're not really saying anything. It's cute.

Death worms may not have the sheer terror behind them that purple worms carry, but they are somewhat more common due to their smaller size. They don't need the same amount of food and hunting space as the much larger worms, and so multiple can live in a territory that would be stripped bare by a purple, making encountering one a more common possibility. And while they may be less dangerous, that doesn't mean people want to encounter them still. Wielding acid, lightning, and poison as weapons, they are hard to prepare for or counter. Bolts of lightning and a heavy spray of acid kill those who try to stay out of the worm's reach, and those who it catches succumb to its poison if they're not simply ripped apart by its vicious bites. Even its blood is dangerous, corroding metal that comes in contact with it, dulling blades and pitting hammers.

The decapus looks like a ten-armed octopus, except it has a full face with a fanged mouth on its side, rather than a beak at the center of the tentacles the way an octopus or squid does. They can be found mostly deep underground, but have been encountered in tangled forests on the surface. They are clumsy on the ground, but quite agile to climb and swing from elevated surfaces, and use this underground and from trees to spring vicious ambushes. They are actually quite intelligent, though rarely have interest in negotiating with other creatures. In fact, they seem to prefer devouring humanoids over other prey, gnomes in particular. They use their ability to replicate any sound they've heard before and clever illusions to lure prey in before dropping from above in attack, occasionally coordinating with other decapuses or natural hazards to better distract potential meals. Some decapuses will gain a sort of god complex though, and take violent control of whatever creatures they can force to obey them, using their followers to gather food, and eating them if they don't supply enough.

(I still misread the decapus every time I see it. It's supposed to be pronounced like "octopus" except with deca instead of octo, but I always read it like "decapitate")

whats the ratio of inkling to octo in tsunaomi and why did you as the artist decide that

Tsunaomi is meant to be half Octoling, half Inkling, but in actuality, her design leans harder into Octoling traits than she does Inkling. That's mostly personal preference, though some were recent changes for ease of drawing. Because I literally have this unshaded piece open rn, you get diagrams.

Hair

Octoling:

Naomi has 8 limbs in swim form, and this is reflected in her standing form as her hair.

She has 4 true tentacles that all use the Octoling shape.

All of her tentacles have upward facing suckers

Inkling:

Her bangs are basically the Inkling Hippie cut bangs

Naomi has these two little 'vestigial' tentacles - essentially just little framing fringe that lacks the muscles and do not correlate to anything in her swim form.

NOTE: Originally, I used to draw her with a mixture of 2 Inkling 'egg' shaped tentacles and 2 Octoling tentacles. I changed this fairly recently because I was never quite satisfied with how the 'egg' shaped ones looked, and would usually just hide them behind her body. This opens me up to more poses to draw for her, since I'm not dreading her hair.

Mostly, her hair shape is meant to mimic very iconic bangs throughout music history, like Stevie Nicks and Selena ( I'm specifically thinking of the Si Una Vez live video. ) Long hair with waves, thick, straight across bangs. She also accidentally read as cheerleader for so long that I just made it canon, lol.

Face / Body

Octoling

Not even marked on here, b/c I think it's fairly obviously, her freckles are blue rings, like the Blue Ring Octopus. ( yes, this does mean she's full of neurotoxins. )

She has the 'sharp' * or clawed hands that Octolings have, as well as the ink transition color on her fingertips. **

The lil lopsided fangs are so cute, literally how could I not give that to her.

Oh, I also forgot to mark her pupils! I just think the 8 shape is neat.

* Canonically, the Octoling fingers are just a sharper shape than Inkling fingers, but like — Claws. Heart.

** Originally, I thought this was an Octoling-only trait, though ever since Deep Cut's designs dropped, I've decided it's actually a fashion / body mod trend, like a tattoo of some kind. Very popular in Takotsubo / The Octarian Domes, and it followed any Octarians who fled Inkadia for the Splatlands. Not very popular in Haikara / Inkopolis, though!

Inkling

Pointy ears - ironically, because we didn't know what Octoling ears looked like until Octo Expansion. I had assumed they were the same shape for years, lol.

Though, honestly, I would've picked the pointy ears over the rounded ones for Naomi anyways, I think they sell her design so well, and translate to my favorite part of her swim form.

Addendum: Swim form

I drew this in literally ten minutes haha.

Her swim form is basically an Octoling swim form, however, she has transparent fins on her head that make the triangle shape of the Inkling Squid form. I literally think its so cute you can't change my mind. Not related to her species make up, but I like to imagine she's like, Serval Cat sized - large, but not so large that you can't just scoop her up like a baby.

Other random facts that aren't really asked by the prompt:

If we're assigning real world ethnicities, Tsunaomi is Mexican and Japanese.

Her orange and blue color palette is literally just the default colors of Splatoon 1, but also, it's a darker version of the real world Blue Ring Octopus

I rarely draw her without red lipstick - another reference to musicians I really like; Again, Selena, but plenty of others too.

Her body type - thinner up top with thick thighs - is modeled after real world gymnasts and aerial performers.
