Scented (Mountain x Ghoulettes)

Mountain was livid.
He usually loved being around the Ghoulettes. Of course, he loves his fellow Ghouls, but they can be a bit... much sometimes. He much preferred the company of someone mellow, who could match his energy, and it's not like Dew or Swiss could come close to calm. The Ghoulettes were a perfect solution to his need for stability, and his best friends. Hes never been a particularly possessive Ghoul, he always felt that life was too precious to stress over what someone else was doing with their time. But today, something in him just snapped.
Something has felt off the entire day. He's been moody and distant during practice, slouching over his drum set and snapping at everyone around him. The other members grew tense from his unusual behavior, and all collectively decided to take a short break in hopes he'll cool off. But he couldn't shake the boiling hot anger that radiated from him, and the sight in front of him didn't make it better. Aurora was talking to Swiss, his arm wrapped securely around her waist. Cirrus and Cumulus weren't far, chatting up Phantom, so close they were practically sandwiching him.
He didn't want to come off as controlling, or jealous. He wasn't the type, and he would never want to be that kind of guy. That's why any time the Ghoulettes wanted to hang out with the other Ghouls over him, he would never object, and never take it personally. He never expected them to only ever want to be around him, to be the only one they sleep with, to be the only man in their lives, that's just unfair! But his logic was not with him at the moment.
He hated seeing his girls with another Ghoul, but what he hated the most was the scenting. It seems like anytime he would see them, they would be covered with the scent of another Ghoul. The sweet, flowery smell of their perfume would be overpowered by the stench of another packmate who made their mark. They smelled more like the other Ghoul than they smelled like themself, and despite it enraging him every time, he always swallowed his pride. Until now, at least.
One by one, he discreetly dragged them away, into a small storage closet far away enough to where the rest of the band wouldn't hear them. Aurora was first, whisking her away so quickly that by the time Swiss blinked she was already gone, ripped away from his grasp. His grip on her small frame was bruisingly tight; just the way she liked it. She already suspected the reason why he was so irritable recently, and that only encouraged her to be even more of a flirt than usual. Her bait had clearly worked, she thought to herself as he spat on his cock, creating enough lubricant to slide into her eager cunt with ease.
"You smell like him." He growled, thrusting ferociously, clawing at her shirt to expose more of her skin to him, sucking and biting to leave big purple marks all over her neck and chest.
"Y-you talking about Swiss?" She yelped in surprise when he tore his mouth off of her breast to lock eyes with her. She had never seen him so deathly serious. It was like he was a different person, a darker, more vicious version of his usual gentle and forgiving self.
"Don't fucking say his name." He hissed, his mouth soon returning to her soft, pale skin, turning her body into his own personal canvas. No inch of untouched skin was safe. Once he was done with her, it was far from enough to satiate him. He still had two other beautiful women who's skin will surely smell like him for days.
Next was Cirrus and Cumulus. Taking on both of them was a rough task, both because he risked being caught and because he had too many women to please with too little stamina. He always loved a challenge. Practice was supposed to start back up ten minutes ago, but with four missing Ghouls, it wasn't exactly possible at the moment.
"Where the hell are they?" Phantom scratched his head in confusion. "I was just talking to Cirrus and 'Lus a few minutes ago, they couldn't have just disappeared!" Swiss scoffs from the other side of the room.
"You're telling me, dude. I looked away for a fucking second, and 'Rora just, poof! She just vanished!" Mid conversation, Rain, who went out in search for the missing members, enters the room, cheeks red and eyes wide in shock.
"Guys..." He speaks up softly, sounding ever so slightly traumatized. "I uh... found them."

I had a thought that the first time Phantom went little, they didn't really have control of their magic and actually turned little. Some of this I wrote while I was little so I'm not sure it makes any sense, but I don't thank anyone will see it anyway so.
almost 3k under the cut, mentions of food, and Phantom has some flashbacks
I guess it helps to know that big Phantom uses primarily He/Him, and little Phantom uses They/Them, and that Phantom was the runt of his litter.
Phantom was already worried. About everything, to be entirely honest, but today it was even more present. With the tour looming over his head and the ministry threatening to send him back to the pits when he messes up, it's hard for him to find a moment of real peace. His only anchor so far has been his new pack. Well, it's his first and only pack, since quintessence ghouls tended to be pretty solitary in the pits. He’s grateful to have a pack at all, and to be summoned into one that's so loving and supportive is some kind of unholy miracle.
He was on his way back from another unproductive meeting with Sister Imperator that was just an excuse to scare him into submission. It didn't really make him want to please her more though. All he wanted to do was be swallowed back up from the pits, because no matter how bad it was down there, at least his every move wasn't being watched and criticized.
He shakes out his body, like a dog trying to dry itself off, to work out the stress. On the bright side he didn't have to talk to her for another week, and he’s on his way back for some comfort cuddles from his packmates.
He pushes open the door to find Rain on the couch playing video games. Dew and Swiss are having a hushed conversation in the kitchen. He wants to bother Swiss for his attention, but he doesn't want to interrupt the obviously private conversation, so he settles for dropping onto the couch next to the water ghoul. Rain takes his eyes off the screen to smile at Phantom. He winds their tails together. Phantom traps the soft, seaweed-like tip of Rain's tail to rub between his fingers while he watches him play.
When Rain dies, he turns off the game and sets down his control. A faint purr rumbles through Phantom’s chest already. He jumps into Rain’s arms when they open, pulling him close to Rain’s chest and scratching lightly across his scalp.
Both of their heads poke over the top of the couch when Dew pushes back into the common room with a huff.
“Of course you put down your game for him,” Dew snarls under his breath, but he doesn’t put any effort into actually keeping it there, and both ghouls on the couch hear it. Phantom pins his ears to his head and tries to hide in Rain’s shirt with a whine.
“Dew,” Swiss warns, but it’s already too late. Rain’s tail is starting to puff up between his fingers. The light purr in his chest drops into a growl, and instead of comforting Phantom when he squeaks he sits up and pushes the quint ghoul to the other side of the couch, left to curl his tail around himself protectively.
“I’m not ignoring you! If you asked nicely instead of acting like a child about it you could be over here with us too.” Rain bites back. He rolls his eyes at the fire ghoul. He seems to care less about this fight than Phantom does, who’s watching like the most morbid tennis match with wide eyes. His tail taps at his lips, but he holds it in his hand. He’s not a kit anymore and doesn’t need to suck on his tail to feel better, no matter how much he actually wants to.
“I don’t want to share you with him!” Dew yells. The blood pounding in Phantom’s ears makes it hard to be sure if Dew meant to emphasize share or him, but his body is in full fight or flight mode and he doesn’t think he can stay to find out.
He moves so quickly he almost falls face first off the couch. His legs feel shaky, like they’re not really his, but he pushes through with the promise of the safety of his room. The door knob is a struggle too. He slams the door closed harder than he means to, which sends another jolt of panic through his system. He feels like he’s freezing but he won’t stop sweating, and the afternoon light pouring in makes his head pound. He buries himself under his covers and presses his hands into his ears in hopes that the screaming will stop.
It’s no longer Dew and Rain’s voices in his head, it’s his mother, the old pack leader, voices he heard only once but hasn’t been able to shake since. Tell them they’re the runt, they’ll never make it, they fuck up everything. That things like them are the reason packs like that don’t work. Their jeans scratch their skin and pull too tight and they need them off, but their hands are too shaky to undo the button.
They scream.
It’s the only thing they can think to do, to try to relive some of the pressure building in their head. Everything starts to feel better, but in a fuzzy, unclear way that they know they should be concerned about but don’t want to think about it enough to be. It’s at least a break.
They start to pull themself out of their sheets. Their pants stick to the material and slide off too easily, the button still done up but way too big enough to hold onto their hips. The shirt they were wearing falls when they push themself up too, at least staying on their shoulder, but the sleeves reach their elbows and the bottom hem reaches their knees. They stare at it questioningly. All the previous panic has been pushed aside, now they mostly just feel… small. And curious.
They rub the hem of their shirt between their fingers and roll off the bed like they usually do, but instead of landing gracefully they fall way further than they shoot. It sends another flare of panic through their body. This one at least is short lived, but it has their knees wobbling as they take uneven steps towards the mirror in the corner.
When they can finally see themself they freeze, staring into wide, wet eyes, then trailing down their tiny form. They have to be half the height they were just moments ago, and lanky in the way all 6 year olds are, not the usual never-grew-into-his-size lankiness he was used to. They know it’s wrong. No matter how much they want to be happy that their outside matches their inside, they know it’s not right. All the emotions swirl in their brain and start to bring back the bad feelings, and even though they just want their eyes to stop stinging, they start crying instead. Fat tears roll down their face and heavy sobs shake their whole body. They want to curl up in a ball but they can’t look away from that little kit in the mirror. The little kit with the same light patch around their eyes, the same white bangs and dark, unruly hair, and the same misshapen tail snaking its way into their mouth to chew on it self-soothingly.
A loud knock makes them freeze. They scream at themselves to pull their tail out of their mouth so they won’t get in trouble. The person outside calls their name and they whine, which reminds them there’s something more important to fix first, but no matter how much they try they aren’t getting big. It sends them back into their fit of tears.
They watch through blurry vision and the smudgy mirror as Swiss pushes their door open, freezing when they make eye contact. The whole room stills. So many thoughts race through Phantom’s mind they’re surprised they don’t explode with it.
“Phantom?” Swiss whispers. He takes a step towards the little quint ghoul, and that’s finally enough to break the spell. Phantom’s tail pushes back into their mouth as they crouch down into a ball, hiding themself behind their arms protectively.
“P-please don’t h-h-h-hurt me. S’ok,” they slur around their tail. Words seem to stick in their brain. They give a frustrated grunt. Their tongue feels heavy enough on its own, and even though the tail isn’t helping, they know it will only feel worse if they take it out.
“I would never hurt you sweetheart. Can you tell me what happened?” Phantom shakes their head hard, almost falling over from the motion. “Ok, it’s ok baby,” Swiss pauses for just long enough that Phantom starts to worry again. They hide their head more in their knees and let more heavy tears fall, since it seems to be helping. It at least made them feel less big and spikey.
“Can I touch you?” Swiss asks. Phantom’s tears dry slightly as they have to think about it. They still feel wrong, but Swiss gives such good hugs that always make them feel better when they’re big. It doesn’t take much to realize they want to be held. They unwrap their small, lanky limbs, popping their tail back in their mouth and making grabby hands at the ghoul standing above them.
Swiss smiles brightly and easily scoops the small ghoul into his arms. He eases them down so their legs are wrapped around his waist, and their head is resting on his shoulder, ear pressed close enough to hear his heartbeat, which settles Phantom down considerably. Swiss bounces them up and down and hums until the last tears stop falling and they can breathe a little more even again.
“Wanna change into something more comfy?” Phantom tenses again at the idea of being put down.
“No p-please. Like it h-h-h-h-here.” They try to shove their face more into Swiss’s shoulder. Swiss sighs and chuckles at their antics.
“Ok, well are you feeling hungry? Think you can at least drink some water for me?”
If Phantom really thought about it, their tummy did feel a little empty. They nodded into Swiss. The big ghoul shifted them a little so he can walk easier, and the gentle sway and being surrounded by Swiss’ conforming scent almost lulling Phantom to sleep, even just on the short walk to the kitchen. But before they know it, they’re set down on the counter. They rub at their eyes and rock back and forth while they watch Swiss dig in the cup cabinet until he pulls out a sippy cup.
“W-why is that in-n there?”
“For little ghouls like you,” he answers easily. He fills the blue and yellow sippy cup with water from the sink and hands it to Phantom.
“There are other kits here?” They perk up, looking around like these other kits might magically show up just because they asked. Swiss makes a silly face like he’s pooping, which makes Phantom laugh. He takes a sip from his cup and wiggles at how it makes his mouth not hurt anymore.
“Sometimes. Sometimes when Dew or Rain or Cumulus have big feelings, they get small like you are.” Swiss looks back at Phantom after he grabs the cheerios from the top shelf, then turns around and grabs a bib from a drawer lower down. He tries to loop it around Phantom’s neck but the kit crosses their arms.
“I’m a big b-” they start, but saying boy doesn’t feel right even if it tries to slide off their tongue, so they try again. “A big kit.”
Swiss nods and puts both things away, instead grabbing a muffin from the snack cabinet that Phantom reaches for enthusiastically. They turn the wrapper off quickly and shove half of it in their mouth before Swiss can reach for it to stop them.
“Phantom,” he scolds. The little ghoul ignores it though, loudly chewing the too-big mouthful and starting up a wiggle again.
“Oh thank Lucifer Swiss, I need…” Dew stops himself short when he walks in the kitchen and finds Phantom’s big eyes looking back at him, muffin crumbs all over his face and sippy cup frozen half way to his mouth. “That’s… mine. What-” he starts, but Swiss steps between the two.
“I’ll wash it, Phantom just needed to borrow your sippy. He’s feeling vulnerable,” Swiss says the last part through his teeth. Phantom doesn’t really know what that word means but they know it’s probably not good.
“But that’s not normal. Are you sure he’s ok?”
The blood starts to pound in Phantom’s ears again. All they hear is that they’re not normal, too small. It’s something they’ve heard too many times to count. It makes them want to hide again.
But they’re big. They don’t need to run away, they’ll show Dew how big they really are. They throw the sippy cup on the ground. It obviously isn’t meant for ghouls as big as them, because the top pops off and sends water all over the floor. They feel a little bad, but Dew and Swiss have stopped ignoring them, so they cross their arms and say as big as they can, “I’m big, and I’m not a boy.”
“Oh,” is all Dew says.
“Are you a girl?” Swiss asks. Phantom’s big act falls quickly. They hadn’t really thought about it. If they aren’t a boy or a girl, what are they? Can you not be a boy or a girl? They know they’re not a girl, so maybe they are a boy. They shake their head and look towards Swiss for him. Luckily, he smiles warmly again.
“Ok, you can be our little bat.” It pulls another happy wiggle out of Phantom, this one reaching from the tips of their ears to the spade of their tail, which now that they’re done chewing they can slot back in their mouth.
“Our little bat is actually a toddler,” Dew says only to Swiss.
“I’m 6!” Phantom yells and kicks their feet. Dew puts out a hand like Phantom just said the same thing he did, which makes them cross their arms and stick out their tongue at not being listened to.
“Hey babybat,” Swiss crouches down so he’s the same height as the kit. “Why don’t you finish your muffin, and then we’ll go take a nap, alright? I’ll be right back.” Phantom chirps in agreement, too busy after remembering they still have a whole half of their muffin to inhale. Dew steps out into the common room. He keeps watching Phantom the whole time through the window between the two rooms, until Swiss hands him a different sippy cup, this one pink and sparkly, and goes out to join Dew.
Phantom watches them wave their arms while he chews on his muffin. He imagines they’re dinosaurs fighting each other, the flying ones that look like bats and have big claws and beaks. They roar at each other, and it’s a good thing Phantom speaks dinosaur.
“Get away from my egg,” Swiss roars. He spreads out his wings to make himself look big. Phantom, who’s obviously the egg, puffs out their chest to match.
“I’m going to eat your egg!” Dew roars back, taking a swipe at Swiss, and even though they know they’re only playing pretend, the thought of Dew hurting Swiss for real scares them. They look down. The floor is so far away, but they have to be brave. They shut their eyes tight and push off, somehow landing on their feet. They take a deep breath. They’re so brave, they can do anything, so they run out of the kitchen and wrap themself around Swiss’s leg. Dew’s attack stops right away.
“Don’t h-h-hurt h-him,” Phantom pleads. They make their meanest, scariest face at the fire ghoul. Dew tilts his head at them, looks back up at Swiss, and then crouches down to be on Phantom’s level.
“I’m sorry bug, I didn’t mean to yell.” He looks at Swiss awkwardly. It takes Phantom a minute to remember that, oh yeah, that is how this whole thing started. They don’t know what to say, so instead they chirp and lay a big, wet kiss on Dew’s cheek. He wipes it off and sticks his tongue out, but he still can’t stop himself from smiling, which Phantom takes as a win. They stick their tail back into their mouth and smile back shyly.
“Feeling tired babybat?” Swiss asks, ending the moment. Dew stands up and starts to slowly make his way towards Rain’s room, while Swiss scoops up Phantom once again and carries them to their own.
They didn’t think they were feeling tired, but being laid under they’re covers and surrounded by Swiss, it’s hard to keep their eyes open anymore.
When he wakes up he’s groggy, but it slowly comes back to him that his shirt’s not so big anymore, and Swiss isn’t covering him so completely, and he sobs into Swiss’ chest in relief.

This coding course is kicking my ass, have some general ghoul headcanons, one for each of them
Phantom/Aeon: New Bug, as ever, strikes me as a “fake it till you make it” kind of guy. As such, it kinda makes me feel like he’d be a theater kid if given the chance, and although I think he’d get a kick out of musicals (Phantom of the Opera, ha ha), I think specifically he’d be into improv. Like, there is no chance his comfort show ISN’T Whose Line Is It Anyway. The minute someone introduced him to D&D, it’s over for everyone.
Aurora: I think she has a soft spot for classic opera pieces. It really lets her go all out in a technical sense, use her range to its fullest extent. It’s stereotypical, but her favorite aria is the Queen of the Night. It’s so damn fun to do this quick jumps in scale in such quick succession!
Sunshine: MASSIVE sweet tooth. Like, yes she knows her corporeal form is fragile and she needs to take care of it, and she does to some extent! She keeps very fit! But fuck if she doesn’t just devour a pound cake if she’s given the opportunity. Will absolutely get a hell of a stomach ache after, but in her mind it’s worth it. Hey, at least she takes good care of her teeth to match!
Rain: A fan of Dancing With The Stars! Though he himself is not known to be all that steady on his feet, he loves watching people who aren’t traditionally considered athletic be put into a professional dance setting and either crash and burn or get better over time. He honestly doesn’t care about the celebrity aspect in the least, barely pays attention to the slice-of-life interviews before the dances themselves, but MAN does he love to pick apart someone’s performance and try to guess what the judges will give before the scores are announced.
Cumulus: Wasn’t initially a gamer, she more preferred to watch those who were have fun in the ghoul common room, but she didn’t have much else to do during the pandemic so… yeah, she just CONSUMED everything Rain sent her way. Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley, Portal and Portal 2x Hades, the entire Resident Evil franchise up to that point, even DOOM Eternal funny enough. She’s kept up with since then, but still has massive fondness for Animal Crossing.
Cirrus: Loves gem stones and precious metals! She has a real crow instinct but is kinda picky about it, like she’ll get fixated on a shiny gold hair clip with rinestones on it but if it feels too cheep in her hands she’ll lose interest entirely. Even still, her jewelry collection is LARGE. One expensive magpie, that woman, but she shares with the other ghouls if they ask so it evens out.
Swiss: It doesn’t fully mesh with go-to interpretation of him but I once read a headcanon that posited Swiss being able to replicate sounds to an uncanny degree and I am bringing it back here because I love it so damn much, kinda plays into being a little bit of every ghoul. I like to think if you startle Swiss he’ll forget to use his normal voice and just goes straight to the sound effects board. Phantom accidentally pops in from nowhere? Sudden air horn blast. Dew tackling him to the ground? The sound of a car going past you. Mountain stepping on his tail? Fire alarm. Someone kicks him in the balls? Microphone feedback. For a while.
Mountain: He likes eating rocks and precious metals. It’s already a thing with some subsets of earth ghoul, but like for Mountain it’s at a higher level. His preferred snack is those semi-precious rocks you get at tourist attractions, he will just chow down on it like popcorn. When that’s not available, however, he uses salt to sate the the itch. Dude keeps a salt lamp in his room that he uses as a salt lick when no one’s looking. This also extends to novelty items MADE of salt. Those Himalayan salt shot glasses? One-use only. Go straight into his mouth.
Aether: One of those tricks Omega showed him during era 3 is how to use your own quintessence on yourself, something generally considered to be very hard to do amongst quint ghouls. Aether has tweaked and expanded on this ability and has learned how to… basically hotbox but with quintosis. Not something he does often cause it’s draining but sometimes it’s nice to unwind on a near molecular level. Among the few he shares this ability with are Dew, Mountain, and Swiss. He’ll teach the new bug when he feels he’s ready for that kind of power…
Dewdrop: is actually a really good cook! Like really good, actually. He got really into watching Food Network when he first came to Earth which evolved into watching older cooking shows. This further evolved into experimenting with his own recipes. He’s also taught Mountain everything he knows about how to handle the kitchen, so they tend to share cooking duty between the two of them. No one’s complained yet!

The ghoul’s hobbies - HC
Rain
The packs gamer, he loves to just chill and play his games. He also likes reading and usually listens to a book when he’s playing.
Sometimes he also sits and draws. Swiss has a picture of the pack in his room that Rain drew. Sometimes he’ll even make little comic books, but no one except Phantom knows that though. He read one to Phantom once when he was getting overwhelmed and phantom loved it so much Rain gave it to him and now phantom begs Rain to read all of them.
Swiss
Swiss takes a lot of photos with his polaroid camera so he has so many photos lying around in his room, it’s getting out of hand. That’s why he started making little photo albums. He finds it so relaxing to sit and put together all memories and make it look all cute and homemade
He is currently working on an album each for Phantom and Aurora. Its gonna be about their first year topside and all adventures they went on and all new things they learned about and got to try
Dew
Dew is amazing at origami. He loves it. He made phantom a fairy light with origami bats. He made one for Cumulus with little clouds and attached little beads in strings so it looks like it’s raining colorful drops
He likes sitting with a stack of paper while watching a movie. He tries to make the characters from the movie. He’s watched everyone’s favorite movies and given them the characters.
Phantom
He is OBSESSED with legos. He has some cool sets because he’s a little collector but what he really loves is his massive box with random lego pieces, he loves letting his imagination run wild and come up with his own creations.
He is especially good at building action figures and then making little stop motion clips. He did one about Mountain and a little reindeer once and Mountain still has the little figures on his dresser. Phantom is now working on one special clip for each individual in the pack and a big one about the pack together.
Mountain
Apart from gardening he enjoys carving wood in different shapes. He makes a lot of toys because there is no right or wrong way to do it and Phantom loves them.
He made everyone’s name tag for the bedroom doors and every sign is shaped and painted and decorated do match the ghoul living behind the door.
Cirrus
Cirrus makes stuff out of clay. She makes little mini foods. She has made like every single food in the whole world. Since there so small they are everywhere, in the kitchen, in the living room, in the bathroom, even in papa’s office
She also likes making pots and bowls that Aurora can paint
Aurora
She loves to paint and make jewelry. She paints Cirrus’s works because Cirrus doesn’t really like painting. And she uses them to store all her jewelry stuff.
She loves making friendship bracelets out of pearls. Swiss of course has his wrists covered in bracelets that Aurora made
She also makes ear rings out of random things that she finds. Like she did one pair with the keys from a computer.
Cumulus
She likes to use her hands, like crocheting or sewing. Everyone in the pack has at least one stuffy that she made specifically for them.
She’s also amazing at baking. She puts all her love into her baking, the whole pack runs to the kitchen as soon as they hear the oven open.

I know it’s a bit early but I really hope we get some fan fiction of phantom celebrating Halloween for the first time
Thank you anon! I took this and kinda combined it with @p1nkcanoe's post here because i adore the idea of the abbey descending into chaos for two months a year. Also big credit to @marsohthree for her Phantom Halloween thoughts!
Here's 1.8k words of Phantom's first Halloween! This is somewhat based on unmasked Phantom but that's just because i never celebrated Halloween as a kid so he's all i have to go off asfhajghaldgh. Stick around to the end for a cute photo of Barbie and Ken! (also this is my first non-smut story and i'm a bit rusty, sorry!)
Phantom was practically vibrating with excitement, yes it was only September 1st but he’d heard today was the start of something called ‘Spooky Season’. Some people (Swiss) called it ‘Spoopy Season’ but that was silly because spoopy isn’t a proper word and it doesn’t even mean scary!
The clock struck midnight, signalling the end of Summer and the start of two months of ghoul-induced chaos, Phantom was loving it. By the time the sun rose on the first of September, the walls of the Abbey were already covered in spray-on cobwebs and the glass panes in the doors stained with a bone-chilling red. Phantom had been the one to source the blood, having recently learned how to hunt with Cumulus; he absolutely was not a natural and the blood covering the walls had sprayed from the new ghoul after he mistook his tail for a rabbit.
All the ghouls from different disciplines of the clergy, including the band ghouls, collaborated on turning the Abbey into a hellfest, literally. They tried to recreate the atmosphere of the pit, only in the ghoul’s quarters of course, they’re not monsters. The mixed quarters, common areas between humans and ghouls, were turned into more of a haunted house with your typical Halloween attractions and scares.
Phantom couldn’t contain his goofy smile as he helped set up the mixed quarters, placing plastic spiders that he animated using his quintessence to occasionally scurry across the fake webs. He was dressed in a slutty devil costume, Rain dressed in the accompanying angel costume. Phantom’s red skirt barely covered his ass and his black mesh top matched his patchy painted nails. Rain was sporting a white miniskirt with thigh highs to match and a halo headband. Of course none of the ghouls needed to dress up, they could simply unglamour themselves, but it was more fun to do it this way.
The first ritual of the day was to carve the ministry’s pumpkins. After the hunting mishap, the pack decided Phantom was not to be trusted with a knife and was instead relegated to design and project management. He chose a bat design, of course, and carefully stood on his tiptoes watching over Aether’s shoulder as he carved out the flying creatures. Once the new ghoul was satisfied with his elder’s work he picked it up like a baby and would not let go, showing it proudly to everyone he met.
It got so bad he almost took it into the shower before Dew whisked it away, “Nuh uh lil guy, I am not cleaning pumpkin seeds out the drain. You can have it back after.” Dew proceeded to accidentally drop the pumpkin as he was walking back to Phantom’s room, startled by the motion-activated skeleton in the hallway. So instead of a pumpkin, the quintessence ghoul was met with a ‘forgive me?’ pair of bat plushies, it was love at first sight. They’re named Barbie and Ken and, yes, they're dressed in pink cowboy costumes.
Time passed as Phantom eagerly awaited The Day. In the meantime he’d often be found wrapped up in toilet roll, launching himself out of the shadows at passers by, trying to scare human members of the clergy and failing miserably, “Why aren’t they scared by my costume, Mounty?” he’d pout. “Well, you do it every morning so I think they know to expect you by now.” Mountain replies. This only inspires the mischievous ghoul to up his scare game, his dream career being a scarer at a haunted house after the pack took him to Halloween Horror Nights.
The next day Aether and Omega had their work cut out at the infirmary as three clergymen were admitted for various fright-related conditions. Phantom bat-hung from the ceiling, the corpse of a freshly-hunted rabbit in his bloodied mouth, canines poking out as he smiled at the passing humans.
Phantom was forbidden from wearing anything other than normal clothes or slutty costumes from that point onwards.
In the days leading up to Halloween, the pack were sent on a trip to gather themed food for the ministry, Frankenstein crisps, ghost marshmallows, and of course sweets for trick-or-treaters. They thought it would be funny to let Phantom loose in the supermarket with just a list, the poor ghoul only just having learned how to read. “What’s this say?” Phantom asked excitedly, gasping for air as he ran back outside to where his pack was waiting, “Gummy worms, darling, you know the ones?” Cumulus replied the first time. Phantom nodded his head, skipping back into the store, only to jog back out minutes later.
“What ‘bout this one, Aeth?” He questioned, pointing hurriedly at the list. “Can’t see when you’re waving your hand around like that, Bug!” The older ghoul chuckled, moving Phantom’s hand away, “Ah, this is a tricky one. It says choco-late eye-balls.” Aether answers slowly as his hand traces the syllables on the paper. “If you can’t read anything else, just buy something spoopy!” Swiss shouts as Phantom shoots him a death stare from the store entrance.
It took five times as long as it would have taken if the pack joined Phantom, but the little guy enjoyed it too much for them to intervene. The ministry was now fully stocked, ready for the end of October.
Phantom awoke at 3am, the witching hour. His quintessence was tingling with the spirits of those below, rising for their day to shine. Today was the day. He restlessly walked to the kitchen, ready to eat despite the hour, to be met with a very tired Mountain. “Bug, what are you doing up? I thought we taught you how to read clocks?” he asked, still awake from the previous day. “Is Halloween Mounty! I couldn’t sleep any longer, too excited!”
Mountain sighed, clearly Swiss hasn’t been teaching Phantom how to tell the date as well as the time, “Tommy, it’s only the 29th of October, Halloween isn’t for another two days.” He frowned, upset for the eager ghoul. Phantom’s eyes began to water, tears instantly falling at the realisation, embarrassed and dismayed.
“Oh it’s alright, Bug, we can celebrate today if you’d like? Think of it as a practice!” Mountain replied frantically trying to abate the weeping ghoul. He pulled out his phone and texted the groupchat:
Mountain (3:06am): Ok ghouls change of plans… we’re celebrating Halloween today. Be ready :)
Dew (3:07am): huh? halpoween isnt todsy tho
Cumulus (3:07am): Yeah, what? What have you been meddling with Big Boy?
Mountain (3:10am): Phantom thought it was Halloween today and now he’s crying because it isn’t. I can’t bear to look at him like that so I told him we’re doing it today ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Mountain (3:10am): Not my fault btw! Someone (@Swisstopher) didn’t teach new bug how to read the date
Swiss (3:18am): …
Come sunrise, the pack was ready for the rootin-ist tootin-ist Halloween this side of October 31st. Mountain and Aether were dressed up as cowboys, basically an Arthur Morgan cosplay. Aurora wore Phantom’s devil costume with Rain still sporting the angel side. Dew and Cirrus were both zombies, full makeup (and a bit of unglamouring) making them look truly horrifying. Cumulus is wearing a sexy police outfit, because fuck the cops, right? And Swiss is shirtless, wearing a toilet seat cover with ‘Dracula’ written on it in sharpie, “I’m sexy dracula, OK?!”
Phantom was sitting on the edge of his bed, kicking his legs in excitement, ready to start the day. He was adorning a bat costume he made all by himself. It was a black cloth with eye holes cut out and some metal wire to make wings, Aether helped with that part.
They spent the day watching low-budget horror films and eating the Halloween goodies that they’d been saving for trick-or-treaters. Phantom was snuggled on the sofa right in the middle of the large ghoul cuddle pile, chirping happily as he realised how loved he was, his pack did this for him. They sat all day in their uncomfortable costumes just to give him the best not-Halloween ever, and it wasn’t even sundown yet.
Phantom sat by the front door, his tongue poked out as he tied his shoes, ready to go out. The whole pack was coming with him on his first candy hunt, except Dew, he’d gone on a smoke break and was taking so long they left without him.
Dew was, in fact, not on a smoke break. He was carefully knocking on the door of each house the pack was going to visit, “Hi! Yeah I know it’s not Halloween but my friend thinks it is, so could you just play along, please?” he asked, far too many times on behalf of what looked like a fully grown adult. Most of the houses complied, and the few that didn’t, well, Dew gave them a 20 and they quickly got on board. Nothing was going to ruin his Phantom’s night!
And so, one-by-one the occupants of the nearest village were met with a bedraggled Phantom in his homemade bat costume. “Trick or treat?” He’d shout, arms outstretched, holding a comically large bucket for the size of the ghoul offering it.
“Oh sweet thing, happy Halloween! I love your costume, did you make it yourself?” One old lady asked. Phantom nodded as he blushed and twirled to show off the wings. “Very impressive, young man. I think you deserve some chocolate for that, don’t you?” She smiled as she almost emptied a whole tub into Phantom’s bucket, his arms buckling at the weight.
The moon was illuminating the night sky, and the night was winding down. The young ghoul had long abandoned his candy bucket, simply too heavy for him to hold. They walked back to the abbey, Cumulus carrying the night’s haul while Swiss gave Phantom a piggyback, the quintessence ghoul’s legs sore from all the walking.
When they opened the front door, they were met with Copia in bat wings matching Phantom’s. He’d missed the day due to clergy commitments but wanted to show his support for his favourite ghoul. Copia guided them all to the common room where he’d decorated it as grotesquely as he could; bones everywhere, blood dripping from the ceiling, and various speakers playing spooky sounds.
Phantom plopped himself in the middle of the room, taking in the view and soundscape surrounding him as he ate the treats Cirrus left out for tonight, the rest stored safely away from the young ghoul. He couldn’t help but think how lucky he was to be in such a supportive pack. Oh boy was he ready for actual Halloween.

and they were roommates

Thinking about resident sex toy expert and collector Rain ghoul
Some thoughts under the cut:
Rain is the ministry sex toy expert and collector. He loves playing with himself and trying out new toys on his pack. He has each ghoul’s favorite toys memorized but he also loves to surprise them or help push learn new things about what they like when they let him. Whenever he gets a new toy he invites the other ghouls to come watch him test it out. It's always a big event when a package shows up in the mail with Rain's name on it. Sometimes the other ghouls ask to borrow toys for their own solo or partner use. Rain is basically the resident sex toy consultant, and he loves to recommend specific toys for whatever the other ghouls might be in the mood for.
Of course he has everyone's favorite toys memorized:
Mountain: Butt plugs. All shapes and sizes and functions. He has an entire set of plugs put aside just for Mountain. His favorite is a modestly sized plug with a faux fur fox tail on the end. He fucks Rain doggy while he wears it. Sometimes Rain will let him wear a pretty leather collar with a metal ring while they play.
Aether: Sounding rods. Cirrus was the one who first taught Rain how to use them. Rain practiced on himself until he was ready to try it with Aether, who he had in mind specifically when buying the kit. Aether loves the feeling of giving Rain complete control and trusts him implicitly. The feel of being penetrated with the cool metal rod is like nothing else for him. He's usually crying and begging by the end of the session, and Rain always makes sure to heap on sweet words and praise throughout. If Dew promises to be good, Rain lets him sit and watch some of his sessions with Aether. And if he swears to be real quiet he’s even allowed to touch himself while he watches.
Swiss: Bondage, whips, nipple clamps, leather, the whole nine yards. Swiss loves for Rain to dom the fuck out of him in bondage. His favorite thing is for Rain to wear a pair of thigh high, high-heeled leather boots and nothing else while he works him over. Rain is particularly good with shibari, something he also practiced on himself until he was practically an expert. Of course Swiss is always quick to offer himself up for Rain to practice on as well.
Dew: Double ended dildo. Dew’s a size queen just like Rain and they both love to take it deep. Rain has a whole collection of double dildos. Long flexible ones in bright, translucent colors, short thick ones with a curve in the middle, hyper-realistic double cocks tapered at one end. They've basically mastered every position imaginable with them, but love to spread out facing each other, grinding down with their legs spread and wrapped around each other. It gives them the best view of the other while they play. They love to share a cock until they’re both filthy, wet, and totally fucked out and exhausted. Usually Aether and Swiss will have to come collect them from Rain's room and drag them into the bath and a clean bed after.
Phantom/Aeon: Lingerie. Phantom’s still new to sex topside, so he's still discovering what he likes to play with. The first time Rain got into bed with him wearing panties, Phantom was so turned on by the feel of silk and lace on his skin he came all over Rain before they even had the chance to do anything. Now they'll grind and feel up on each other in matching sets of lace panties, little bralettes, cute stockings with garters until they cum. They've ruined more than a few sets of lingerie together. Sometimes Rain will use a little vibrator on Phantom's cock. Rain still lets Phantom browse his toy collection before they play, answering questions, showing him how each toy works. Phantom usually ends up asking for lingerie in the end.
Rain: His favorite alone time toy is a simple curved, metal wand. It has the best weight and effortlessly gives him bone-deep prostate orgasms, and nobody gives them to him better than himself. As much as he likes to use toys with other partners, he only uses the wand for solo play. And he loves to do it in front of a mirror, really taking his time, watching himself stretch around the toy and cum all over himself. He has an absolutely massive collection of dildos and vibrators, hundreds of shapes and sizes and functions. He keeps them all in a huge black steamer trunk in the corner of his room. Nothing turns him on more than watching his partner browse his collection, choosing one to use on him when they play.
#rain ghoul#nameless ghouls#rain/dew#aether/rain#mountain/rain#swiss/rain#phantom/rain#ghost fanfiction#ghoul-slime fic#considering making this into full fic sometime??#especially dew and aether's bits#and phantom/aeon#ok so maybe all of them#none of this is groundbreaking but also the idea wouldn't leave my head
