Cross-country season has started! Fifa!talia is out, FIS!talia is in!

Most of the athletes on the GBR team are Scottish and they all live in Norway most of the year. Norwegians have such a love for them and some of them even speak Norwegian fluently. Two years ago, they lost funding from the UK government and it looked like they would have to quit skiing all-together. street racer! rin who's well known not only for his smooth drifting and steel concentration on the roads, but also for his foul mouth and short fuse. his temper isn't something to be toyed with - but sometimes, these newbies just don't know about it (which seems impossible, given his authority among the streets that makes everyone shudder) or are simply dumb, with the way they want to try and rile him up.

street racer! rin, who already has the worst frown etched into his sharp features, doors of his metallic navy chevrolet courvette slamming as he get out of the drivers seat. he's tall n strapping as he approaches the other car, a glitter to his turquoise eyes and perspiration gleaming along the back of his neck. there's a crazed look in his eyes, adrenaline steaming off him in waves as he nearly hauls the other guy out of the vehicle. "that's how you want to fucking play? huh? fuck right off. son of a bitch." he snarls, slams the guy (who, by the way, looks no older than nineteen - but the ravenette doesn't seem to care) against the side of the car and gets ready to swing.

street racer! rin, who does many not necessarily favorable things - but when he wants his dopamine rush, he does it fair. he knows that his way of getting his fill is dangerous enough - and that there's a pair of open, warm arms and lovesick eyes waiting for him back in his roppongi penthouse - or, if he gets lucky, standing by the finish line and looking out for him to reach it first. that's why no matter how good it feels, he makes sure to come back to you in one place. and no fucking dipshit trying to play dirty, purposely getting way too close to grazing the rear of his sportscar and trying to leave it tumbling to the side, will get away for stopping him.

street racer! rin, who lands the first punch that's enough to leave the kid stumbling to the side, blood splattering onto the concrete, but the white noise dies down as soon as he feels sharp nails digging into his bicep - a familiar voice reaching his ears. he whips around, frenzied eyes searching for yours, and it's almost visible, the way his shoulders slump and broad frame relaxes upon the sight of you. "stop it," you breathe, heat still red on your cheeks as you drag him away, instead grabbing his face to pull him down for a messy, needy kiss. he nearly groans against your mouth, hands firmly resting on your ass to pull your frame as close to his as it can physically get. in the amelia pond au, amelia’s aunt does still send her to therapy between doctor adventures, but since amelia is now secure in the fact that he’s Definitely Real since both rory and mels have also met him and because she lost a tooth last week from tripping on the stairs of the tardis, she doesn’t bite any therapists this time around. and besides, her therapist is a very funny lady. she reminds amelia of her doctor, with how her voice will flip and jump in volume and accent and tone on a whim, with how she’ll talk to amelia like they’re conspiring together. she keeps the pictures amelia draws of the doctor and their adventures for her, even hangs one or two on the walls. she listens very intently to every detail, which no adults in amelia’s life do save the doctor himself and river song, whenever she’s around. and best of all, whenever she tells amelia’s aunt that amelia is doing just fine, don’t you worry, she’ll grow out of this, she winks at amelia so that amelia will know her therapist is only playing along to wave away her aunt’s suspicion.

it is a little odd, though, that she insists on only being called Missy. but amelia is quite used to odd by now.

i do have to confess that one of my favorite jack spot dynamics to rotate in my brain is jack being a few years older than spot and knowing him in the refuge/as kids and spot having a Massive crush on him and being extremely pissed about that fact years later when they re-meet/reconnect. he doesn't have a crush anymore he's just angry that it ever happened. jack wasn't a jerk and was in fact completely oblivious to it so there's no reason for spot to be so peeved but he's steaming at the ears every time he remembers being infatuated with jack kelly.

Some Fairy Tail x Twisted Wonderland stuff

I started thinking about which dorms the Fairy Tail peeps would be in, for the funsies, and then I thought more about it and then it spiraled into me actually drawing it. I have more ideas, too, but I limited it to one each. For now. 

Anyway have some of my thoughts, because I have nothing else to do with them. I have more, of course, but here’s a bit:

Erza: Heartslabyl [Housewarden; fae] —very much believes that rules are important, but in a chaotic way —forgets other people don’t think the way she does —easily stuck in her ways —passionate; can be very emotive —very dedicated to ✨ special interest ✨ (swords, armor, etc)

Natsu: Savanaclaw [dragon-fae] —feral gremlin child; can be pugnacious, but also pretty chill —stubborn but not particularly ambitious —doesn’t rely on anybody, necessarily, but also is very group-orientated —protective of friends pack —very emotive but allergic to being openly vulnerable —depending on backstory, has other people trying to dictate his future

Lucy: Octavinelle [human] —doesn’t like not having any control in a situation —pursues personal ambitions / personal happiness —likes ✨ contracts  ✨  —not above being sneaky, but keeps her word —collects keys friends etc

Gray: Scarabia [human] —allergic to failure —poor natural teamwork skills (used to doing things alone) —will throw away morality for success’ sake —self-esteem is an unstable pendulum —dabbles in scheming

Juvia: Pomefiore [merfolk] —cares about what other people think of her —will alter herself to fit in, even to her own detriment —very, very tenacious when she gets focused on something —she is beauty, she is grace, she will punch you in the face

Mystogan: Ignihyde [Housewarden; human] —anti-social is his middle name —dedicated to a job he did not want (cleaning up father’s mess, etc.) —really good with items and gadgets —just wants to do his own thing if he ever gets a break —life goals? nonexistent 

Freed: Diasomnia [half-human, half-fae] —likes to swear his loyalty to his peers; dedication to group —weird af has a certain decorum he upholds —magic is easier than a normal social life —confident in his abilities but not in how he is perceived —concerned about his sense of belonging

i just want you to know that I've started watching The Fantastic Race (I'd never heard of it before) and i too cannot stop imagining Andreil in it.. but also a Foxes/Exy only edition.

like, one is Foxes only, 10 teams, either with some of the freshmen, or while Seth is still alive/in an AU where he survives.

one is Andreil against other Americans where they dominate everything

and one is Andreil, Kevin/jeremy, riko/jean, and some other teams from other American Exy teams

I do love me some Amazing Race. I think I could give you a Miracle Year of Collegiate Exy version of the Amazing Race.

I think maybe after their initial run through and victory Neil and Andrew are like absolute fan favorites and even though Neil, Andrew, nor the show ever say it there is a general belief that Neil and Andrew got together BECAUSE of the show. Any follow-up publicity on it has Neil and Andrew just staring at the camera like "Are u for fucking real?"

The thing with these shows is that fan favorites get asked to go back ALL the time and Neil gets a lot of very lucrative sponsorships that make the Moriyamas VERY happy after it.

They offer the same deal, a cut on the % that they will take from earnings and this time it's just for competing and this time it's a deal given to. They want the Miracle Generation of the Foxes to come and if every one does then Ichirou will lower Neil, Jean, and Kevin's %s owed to 50% (Maybe the deals are that good, maybe Ichirou is a big fan of the show, maybe he has a finger in it's production. This is mostly just like rationale on why the fuck they'd all do this. Especially Neil and Andrew since like Andrew had a bad time on those planes).

Either way not a single Fox disagrees. Arrangements are made for everyone's kids / pets. Shit is talked.

One of the funnier things I could do with that is that this Miracle season is also fan favorite season too and they want the cast to come back but no one can be with their same partner again. So you get shit like Neil and Jean, Jeremy and Andrew, Allison and Kevin, Renee and Aaron, Wymack and Nicky, etc.

I've been thinking about race styles recently, and particularly about the three main locomotives and Pearl:

I feel Electra is confident enough in her skills that she likes to play games with her opponents--often alternating between falling behind intentionally to make her opponents think they're winning, only to use her lightweight speed to overtake them in a sprint. It's a great way to psych out her opponents and stay out of the way while also continuously gaining the lead. She and her primary race partner (Volta) are well trained in this technique together--that being said, she is capable of skating at a steady pace when the situation calls for it. She's all about flashiness and style, but don't underestimate her skill.

Rusty is focused on stamina and agility--above all else, he's small and quick, and good at evading hits. His technique focuses mostly on keeping a steady pace while dodging conflict and allowing his competition to tire each other out, saving the last of his energy for a final sprint. In some cases, he'll even plan out exactly how much water and coal he should be carrying to stay as light as he can. He prioritizes taking curves in the track as close to the inner edge as possible, occasionally falling behind only to dart around his opponents and overtake them by taking as tight a turn as possible. Tight turns are dangerous, but he's practiced them enough that he has an advantage whenever he attempts them.

Greaseball is all about brute force and getting + maintaining an early lead; he expends most of his energy on an initial sprint to gain a lead, and then focuses on taking out or blocking his opponents. The drawback, however, is that by the end of a race he's typically losing quite a bit of steam (well. not really. ykwim) and is relying on the early lead that he gained at the beginning. He's very experienced in techniques that involve staying in front of others, such as different maneuvers to cut trains off and throw them off balance.

Pearl is, overall, a formidable racer despite having nearly no prior experience. She excels on her own in solo-carriage races, but is also an extremely valuable asset in partner races due to her adaptability. Even if she's never raced with a locomotive before, she can pick up their race style with ease. She reads the tiniest changes in their stance and technique almost instantly, and adapts to them so quickly that other trains joke that she can read minds. In reality, she's just extremely observant and quick-thinking, making her a sought-out coach for partner races. Although she enjoys the thrill of solo racing, she loves the coordination and technique involved in partner racing. Although she's late to the game, her career in racing is only beginning.

So, in the off the string Ancients time au, What is the reaction of the Ancients that live on top of the iterators when they discover that the puppet just disconnected/disappeared from the structure? How much time does it take them to discover this?

oh dear Heavens above. scandal and horror and anger and affront... they and their little comfortable asses go "oh how can we live now! !!!?!?!!" when the consequences of the separation start hitting them might take like. a month or however long it was meant to be till the next resource delivery

it all ultimately depends on the Iterators' relationships with their citizens and Mechanics/Admins if the ittie has 'em, honestly!

Euros' citizens would try to immediately bring him back (first gotta find him but lets be honest he'd be hanging out in that one farm district n wouldn't try to run so like. it wouldn't be that hard.) n lock him in the chamber so he'd somehow plug into the umbilical arm again by himself. they wouldn't really care that he wouldn't be able to or that he'd most likely end up dying in there, he just better figure it out! thankfully, Sparrows would Not accept that in the least

she might not stand up for herself, but for her boyfriend she fuckin Will and with that shotgun of hers at that

it would take longer for the citizens of Desaevio to notice that Boreas' Blessing isn't supplying the city anymore because of how big it is. that would be the better scenario. they'd notice pretty early he isn't acting right because of the Iterator Mechanic school. which is the bad scenario. because he'd need to figure all of this by himself which would be much harder with how old he is (so used to his usual state of existence unlike hardly 100 year old Euros). n then he'd have to figure out how to make an escape away from himself, cuz unlike Euros he Would suspect immediately that if he is found here like this it will Not end well for him. not to mention the need to find some kind of way to feed the puppet... Boreas' houses would be way less merciful to him than Euros' which says a lot

Fish would cry out for help to the Ancients! he wouldn't try to run away or anything of the sort, instead would do his best to notify them and then would be very compliant with them. they'd house the puppet in the shrine while they'd be trying to figure out how to fix this (Fish would very much like to return to his work and unlike Boreas he can afford to trust his citizens to have his best interests at heart), the kids would try to bother him and play with him and he'd indulge them while putting on a show of being all grumpy about it. the lil shrimps would be the ones to teach him how to walk in the end!

Notos wouldn't be around at this time, along with Haboob, but for the fun of it: since Gen 3 chambers are like never visited and its Hivemind would stay stable even without the puppet, Notos would have basically all the time in the world to figure out its situation Until it would start to feel weak (cuz of the lack of food, the puppets wouldn't be getting hungry, but weak) even if the Ancients figured it out that quickly n tried to stop it- which they would not because Notos is legit seen as smth that should not be messed with- it would be able to work with its structure despite the disconnect to keep itself safely away from the grabby arms

aaand Zephyr n Haboob would be mostly unaffected. Zeph at least until Boreas would manage to somehow drag himself over to her (she'd be his first destination cuz 'oh damn- now that i am... severed i could offer zephyrus finer services.'). then she'd probably be like "you know what, fuck the structure. it's probably all half dead at this point without me keeping it in order. we'd do well to depart as fast as possible- come on.". MAYBe she'd try to get out of her structure by herself but that'd be pretty risky ngl

most of the time they're very sweet but sometimes they will both look at you with extreme Scorn and it's like getting your insides frozen in real-time (ik picked up the glare from stelle, but the silent disdain was alll from dan heng baby)

i'm not 100% clear on what the heck's going on with his backstory, but what i DO know is that ik would quietly sit next to him late at night on the astral express and keep him company until he feels at peace, because that is what ik does best
