As Sarah sat down again, she turned to James. “Mum wants to know if you’re bringing anyone to the funeral. And she added that as long as you’re not calling ‘that girl’ your girlfriend, it would be very inappropriate to bring her. Her words, not mine.”

“Seriously?” James asked, “Her mother just passed away, and this is what she’s worried about? That woman never ceases to amaze me…”

He shook his head, “Either way, no, I won’t bring anyone to the funeral. I assume that, by ‘that girl,’ she meant Leona, and Leona has moved away. I wouldn’t have brought her even if she hadn’t, anyway.”

Everyone now looked at James. “What?” He said.

“Leona moved away?” Sarah asked, “Are you okay?”

“Of course I’m okay,” James said, sounding agitated. “Leona and I had sex, that’s all. Now, I’ll just have to do that with others. And on that note, please excuse me.”

He stood up and approached a girl sitting at the counter. His friends looked at him in silence.

One thing I think about a lot is Elias and his mum. Like, the only reason he changed his mind and decided to detonate the bomb is bc his mum wouldn’t come out and talk to him. She didn’t even want to *see* him (from Elias’ pov at least). Despite the fact that earlier in the series he was adamant that he didn’t want to have anything to do with her (although I have wondered whether that’s an idea that the Morley’s planted in his head, or maybe straight up told him to say), she’s still his mum and he still needs her. Then later in the series in the last few seconds before he ceases to exist when they’re hugging, the idea that that might be the only time in the series when he actually genuinely knows he is loved, and how the whole loop is him chasing after that feeling of being loved yet it takes the loop breaking for him to get it. Stuff like that.

One headcanon I've had for a While is that right at the start of seps apprenticeship, he was Not comfortable asking for things. Especially when him+marcia r out somewhere and he sees smth in a shop that he wants he just. Won't say. And Marcia notices this! But she is also very aware that she can't tell the difference between his "I really want that but don't want to ask" look and his "oh hey that's cool" look. So her solution is that if she notices septimus staring at an Item she just will buy it and give it to him without asking if he wants it bc he will always say no even if he does want it. And it freaks him out at first and then he realises what she's doing and is like Oh 🥺 bc no one has ever done smth like that for him before. And anyway he goes from owning 4 things (shiny rock. Dragon ring. Hat. Apprentice diary) to having 1 million random pointless items in like. 2 months

i have an odd question but like…what does C&R even do? what do they sell? like do the rfa members go into like a grocery store and realize it’s named “C&R groceries” ??

no this is a totally valid question! C&R is a corporate conglomerate, like Warner Bros, or Johnson & Johnson. basically it's a company that own's other companies that make/do things. (for reference: FMCG stand for Fast Moving Consumer Goods)

this is the fundamental structure, but here are some real life examples:

groceries is actually a funny thing to mention because iirc Zen tries to accuse Jumin's company of hurting local grocery stores by driving sales away from them, but imports like groceries isn't actually something C&R specializes in! (for reference: SME stands for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises)

so, knowing all this, we can guess that C&R own's brands that specialize in export, and through a quick google search it looks like South Korea's top exports are electronics, machinery, and vehicles. we also know from Jumin's own mentions that they have other projects like fashion, wine, and.....cat accessories....

so, would an RFA member walk into The C&R Store? no, but would, say, and RFA member eat a snack brand that's owned by C&R? wear a coat that that's parent company is C&R? get to work in a car or bus was manufactured by a company that is also owned by C&R? probably. my understanding is C&R is as large as Hyundai or Samsung, but has specializes in more than just cars or electronics, and so has more products they can claim sales off of.

we don't actually get much information on C&R aside from what it is and what some of their products are, but this seems to be the gist of it. if Cheritz does give us any more info on C&R in The Ssum, i dearly hopes it's what the heck the C and R even stand for, Cats & Rants? lol it's clearly a play on Procter & Gamble but i wanna know!! **obligatory i did not go to college, let alone major is business, so if anyone has anything to note, please do!

feeling compelled to write a fic where jackson starts bringing back sports and joel manages to convince ellie to join a team. ellie is amazing at all things competitive and physical so she absolutely knocks it out of the park every game and joel becomes jackson’s resident soccer mom, forcing tommy and maria to go to every single game and being The Most Supportive parent there. one time it starts pouring rain mid-game and all of the adults leave except for joel, who just sits in the rain and cheers ellie on. ellie 100% goes too far and accidentally injures kids on opposing teams when she pushes them out of the way too hard but joel does not care. when she gets in trouble for it he tells her everyone’s just jealous that their kids are weak and can’t take a little shove. needless to say they both get a little competitive but ellie’s finally experiencing a Before the outbreak activity and is living a normal childhood, so nobody gets in their way (also everyone is scared of them)

well, I've been thinking about David Jacobs, and now its everyone else's problem.

Dave was never really considered someone's real, honest to god good/best friend since elementary school, until the newsies.

Most people just seemed to veiw him as some loner kid, or 'too smart for the other' or, for some reason, just an asshole if they cared enough to notice the subtle expressions from his day to day that masked his distain now and then. Though, they always misinterpreted that disdain either for the schoolwork he was oh so good at or as disdain for the people around him, that was untrue.

it was his disdain for himself and how boxed he kept himself, but he would not admit that to a soul

but, then he joined the newsies and that changed a little while after his little brother got himself roped up with the annoyingly heroic handsome charismatic Jack Kelly, and they talked to each other. during and after the strike. he usually only talked to Jack, and, that was okay, he was closest with Jack and he never expected that relationship to extend to anything other than polite interactions with Crutchie and Katherine.

but. that wasn't right-

Suddenly David Jacobs walked to school with a smile on his face thinking about that stupid thing mush did last night and the way Race slapped him on the back when doubling over from laughter.

Or telling Sarah about Henry and Smalls very passionate argument about rats and mice, that they looked to him for some specific facts, and helped to be Henry's saving grace for the Anti-Rats argument

Or just sitting there with Jack in a pile of the boys, the boys he'd go to hell and back for again and again and he realized what he found were real friends that he could just, be Davey with. Not uptight goody to-shoes David or resting-bitch-face David, just Davey Jacobs, one of the newsies.
