Issues when writing fan fiction that I should have learned from last time.

Don’t write half of your otp in a different relationship because you have to make the relationship sound believable.

Christmas Eve came along in my drarry fanfic and now Draco’s on a really romantic date with someone who newsflash is not Harry.

I don’t know what to do anymore. First I started to ship him with THEODORE NOTT because of an old fanfic (it was actually really cute soo...) I wrote and now this... I am a truly terrible person.

Usually if I was reading I’d be like.. “oh it’s fine cause it’s a DRARRY fic so obvs gonna end with drarry but I’m the AUTHOR and I’m not sure how I’m gonna break this couple up... they seem to love each other and Harry’s kinda supportive... oh what have I done.”

Okay 😂 bear with me as this is a departure for me and I gotta explain. I LOVE Dungeons & Dragons. And I love #CriticalRole but I have no artistic abilities whatsoever so I had no way to express it (through art or singing or cosplay etc). But I always hoped that one day I’d be able to write a poem or two about D&D and/or the cast of Crit Role that wouldn’t be just cheesy or trite or similar to the existing awesome poems and songs that exist... this poem is clearly not that. 😂 but the incredible @brianwfoster is having a shitty time and as I was wondering how I could contribute to the critter community trying to cheer him up... the mad idea to mix erotica and d&d and (hopefully????) comedic poetry came to me. So I apologise for nothing but mediocrity, and if nothing else I hope someone at @critical_role shows this to Brian and it amuses him that someone put this on the internet... embarrassing themselves and the entire poetry world... just to cheer him up. Do you have any scenes from ToT that you had to sadly throw out because they didn't work, or is it all working out?

So I actually have a big document called “Cryrogenically Freeze Your Children” when I stash all the scenes I had to delete for various reasons. Mostly because I started writing and realized I was going off track, as I am wont to do. I’ve managed to sneak a few back in! Which is why I never delete.

When I planned this work, I wrote out a handful of scenes I wanted to get to. I designed this story to be flexible because I wanted to be able to adjust on the fly as new episodes drop, to be as close to canon as possible.

We still have 6 scenes to go, which doesn’t sound like a lot until you realize in 70k words I’ve hit...4....that I originally planned...ohgodwhathaveIdone
