Summary: You're a singer and join KK and Paige's live for their talent show.

“Ain’t no way,” KK’s eyes widened on the screen as she started scrolling through the amount of people that wanted to be a guest on her live. “Say psych right now.”

Paige, who had been sitting next to her, partly in frame and partly not, leaned forward. “What?”

KK whipped her head towards her, “Y/n L/n's in here Paige.”

“You lyin,” Paige whispered, hand over her mouth as she put her face close to the camera trying to see your account in the live. Paige had the biggest celebrity crush on you for the longest time and everyone found out when she made a joke about treating you right when you broke up with your ex girlfriend a couple months ago. Since then, Paige’s comments were always filled with fans tagging you and yet still, you had never liked one of her videos or followed her.

“Hey girl, I see you in here. I’m tryna guest you right now,” KK said, her body starting to shake slightly as she pressed on your profile and accepted your guest request. Paige’s face went red as she realized it was actually your account. The account she stalked so many times.

Within seconds, your profile picture popped up in the live. “Hey y’all. Wait, hold on, I'm tryna turn on the camera.” A second later, your face flashed on the screen and KK started freaking out, grabbing Paige’s arm.

“Y’ALL Y/N L/N IN MY LIVE RIGHT NOW SOMEONE SCREEN RECORD,” KK yelled, earning a laugh from you. 

“Hi KK.” You waved at her.

KK jumped up and down. “SHE KNOWS MY NAME.”

You laughed again and saw Paige leaning back on the couch, a hand over her mouth and just staring at you. “Paige I see you.”

Paige leaned forward. “Hey.” Her voice cracked and her face grew more red. You raised your eyebrows at her and the chat started going crazy.

“So boom,” KK said, sitting back down. “You got a talent?”

you’re instructed to make pasta, FROM SCRATCH.

things start off well, but when you take a bathroom break, kaneki ends up sabotaging your dish.

he’s adding in a lil bit too much salt to your pasta sauce, & tasting it makes his whole face scrunch up.

when you come back, hide looks so guilty. like he had seen something he wasn’t supposed to see. which was of course, the underlying truth. all the while ayato was there, pokerfaced.

noticing this, you immediately assume ken is suspicious, “kaneki what’d you do.”

the whole process is chaotic, but fun. by the time it’s ready for judging, you & kaneki were both stressed out.

ken’s plate looked like mario & luigi threw it up, while yours looked like a penguin just regurgitated it to its baby.

you guys place the plates on the dinner table & you sit across from ayato & hide.

Then when I started college, Prof. Red was able to help with my academic anxieties! Then recently I realized I needed Light so I can directly get help with courage and resilience and such. Well first I'd like to clarify I'd be making his death more gratifying to ME, not necessarily to anyone else. That man has dealt me horrendous amounts of psychic damage for years now and I believe he should answer for it in blood. Its personal.

That being said. He gets off easy, in the end, by being able to jump off a building and just... disappear. He finishes his plan and removes himself from the equation. Done and dusted. Its almost anticlimactic, its a little unsatisfying, and in the original story I think that's part of why his death works so well. There's no dramatic final battle, not really. It's also very, very Dazai. In a world where he forces himself to be more machine than man to keep his goals in line, there's not much left that's actually Dazai, you know? He's subject to the world he's created as much as everyone else is, the only difference is that he knows that. Back in the main timeline, as odd as it is, suicide attempts end up almost a hobby for normal Dazai. That's just... a thing he does. But Beast Dazai doesn't have that identity, not anymore. He doesn't have "hobbies" he doesn't have things he's imbued so much of the book with his will and in turn is so subject to the will of the book that they're one and the same at that point. He's ceased to really be Dazai. So in a way? Beast Dazai offing himself at the end is really like severing his ties to the book and becoming Dazai again before he dies.

For me, personally, in my own acts of retribution against Beast Dazai for the way he charges me rent in my own brain, I'd want to strip him of that one last shard of autonomy. Someone else has to kill him. Preferably me with my own bare hands. The problem is that there's really no one in that world that has a good right or reason to kill him, honestly. As much as Chuuya wants to, as much as he claimed his stake on Dazai's life in that world, he'll never do it. Chuuya will never be the one to kill Dazai. It just... won't happen. Atsushi never would either, for tangential reasons. The most appropriate would be Akutagawa, but the entire point of Beast is, in part, proving that there is a world where Akutagawa can do and be good even without Atushi's influence. Proving that it was already in Akutagawa to start. Having him kill Beastzai would be a backtrack of that progress. The most tragic would be Oda, but Oda is going to write his novel. He's done killing, now. So that doesn't work either. The only one who could have killed Beastzai is himself, unfortunately.

Now, if you let ME into the Beast universe, unlike all these characters with personal motives and layers and thematic character arcs, I'm just some guy with a vendetta and no stakes in the game and I'd personally love to put Beastzai through as much physical pain as possible before offing him just because I know he hates pain and I want to watch his skull bounce. I haven't worked out the details of how I'd kill him if given the chance but let me just say it is not a pleasant way to go and he'd totally for sure hate the entire thing. I'd have to have Beast Chuuya locked up somewhere though because he'd have me dead seven times over before I got the chance.

ok. Okok. i think i’ve got my jumbled up thoughts altogether so! here they are under the cut (and it won’t be spoiler free so heads up!)

N’s route: man… i think when i played i was on a “i havent seen these characters in years” goggles high, ie graduation goggles if you will, but now that im thinking on it, it wasn’t super erm. cohesive. like when you can choose to say ily early on but then if you dont and N says it later, theres no option to reciprocate? odd. also there is no conflict resolution for the argument, it’s just kinda brushed aside.

what i did like was that if you play with an equally romantic partner as n, they do have a bunch of nice little moments. i’ve seen ppl say they come off clingy but like. i didnt see it that way. to me it comes across as more just that they’re SO passionate and so focused about protecting everyone (as shown in the backstory) but i can see why it’s off putting to others

F route: very cute little moments w the detective, absolute dream of a partner if you ask me. them talking about their mom? ruined me a bit why lie. also the “you’re the most delicious thing i’ve tasted” oof. my pulse was weak lads

i didnt like that there wasnt an ily choice for them?? doesnt make sense to me??? out of all the routes i feel like their would have been the most natural place to have an ily, but i digress. anyway. F love and supremacy always

A route: mixed feelings for sure.. i did feel like some of it was a bit ooc or like, i was just getting mixed signals. they’d say one thing and then contradict it a paragraph later and i was like. huh. ok.

overall tho… i will be so real with you guys it was kind of delicious. dare i say it was maybe my favorite. ik some ppl thought it moved too fast and i can see that! but for me it’s really not /that/ fast. think about if you read a book series that’s 2 or 3 books and it’s a slowburn. usually the couple will admit their feelings by the end of the second book or smth. and it’s not like A actually expressed their feelings and then jumped into a relationship yk?? personally i found the “one kiss and i cant have you anymore, this is done, i can’t let myself feel this” absolutely scrumptious. the slowburn is still in action even tho they kissed to me! but ig why some ppl didnt love it. bonus; them crying outside the detectives door didn’t feel ooc to me either. they bottked up feelings for 900 years and then watched the person they love almost die like. three times. and then consequently shoved them away again so there’s no way they’d be able to keep all of THAT inside. walls r bound to break eventually. anyway i did think this route was inconsistent at times but generally. i had a blast w all that pain and suffering

M’s route: i still dont really know how i feel about this one tbh. i did like a lot of it: the bakery scene, the lil not date, the scene in the shower especially. to me that felt very natural, just like. intimate and personal without being too fast or whatever. big fan. might think about that for the rest of my life. also if you’re on verda’s route with m the dinner party scene was equal parts awkward and funny so that was fun. AND as meh and underwhelming as the auction was, them saying they were willing to give more for the detective than they ever thought… mwah. there were moments where M felt ooc but i think i liked half of it. probably 😭

overall like i said before.. plot wise it isnt very cohesive and it’s not very exciting, it felt more romance focused than plot focused which ig makes sense but? idk. i like the thrill
