Herb Oldie

After leaving business world Herb decided to concentrate on his hobby - nature. He wants to take Coral to Takemizu Village for vacation.

Glowing toddlers are smart toddlers! William got smart milk too, but the glow has worn off.

Yummy blocks. William seems to look worried a lot. Theodore most definitely does not.

That was a very busy round for the Oldies, though summed up quickly: They had twin boys who are now toddlers. Next up: The Goths.

literally just loaded this lot and herb did something to make coral fall into aspiration failure

to ease the pain of being fired on her first day, jennifer hosts club meetings with tac (tara and crew) to foster some kind of girl empowerment

the oldies adopt jacqueline jung (because i've gotten attached to her). she and lucy seem to get along well!

PLEASANTVIEW

I decided to split the Newson siblings so they could have a nice life, without struggle so much or making sacrifices for each other. And seeing how cute is the relantionship between Ginger and her adopted parents, Herb and Coral Oldie, I see it worthed it...

Very calm round... Coral decided to start painting, while Herb and Ginger had a pillow fight in the living room; at night, they went on a outing with Mary-Sue, Daniel and Angela.

The Oldie Household! Part 1

Rather than having them just moving in to town (or downsizing), as the family bin placement implies, I decided to build their long-time family home, where Coral and Herb raised Mary Sue.

My thinking is that, originally this was a bungalow (plus basement), that they added a second floor to after they adopted Mary Sue, then added the conservatory, and wrap around porch too, through the years.

I decorated the house with the various Asian items in the game, trying to make the implication that, while Coral and Herb had travelled to, and adopted Mary Sue from, Takamizu Village, they had conflated many cultures together in their well meaning ignorance. I imagine that this would cause some tension between them and their daughter, and potentially their granddaughters too.

I included a large garden, and a small pond, as these two retirees would have quite a lot of free time on their hands to indulge in hobbies.

Coral decided to adopt another child and, right after greeting the girl, Herb started to argue about…money (even though a few minutes earlier, they were kissing). Really, after 15 years, this game continues to surprising me.

Pleasantview - first round

Lilith has had enough of the constant torment received from her family, and has decided it is best for everyone if she takes some time away with her grandparents in their trailer.

Her grandparents, although concerned about their granddaughter, are more than happy to have her for the time being, but they insist she can only stay for a week - she must return home to reconcile with her family.

The next day, Herb continued to work on his fixer upper car, while Coral received a call from Mary-Sue.

While Coral was at work, Herb went downtown. He met a few people but no one that he had much chemistry with. Coral didn't get another promotion but she was pleased with herself anyway.

That night, Herb rolled the want to get abducted by aliens! I've never seen him roll that wish before, but if that's what he wants... It'll have to wait until the next round though because this one is over. That's it for Pleasantview, time to move on to Strangetown.

Coral Oldie

After being stay at home for Mary Sue, Coral quickly became grandmother to triplets. Now with them finally being teens she has time for herself.

The twins were less trouble than most babies, and soon enough, it was time for birthdays.

It's mostly family. (Ricky Cormier happened to be walking by and joined the party, as Sims do.)

First up was William, whose toddler fling I didn't get any good pictures of. I also forgot to take a pic of his personality: It's 9/4/4/8/10. Very and playful, maximally nice, and about average in outgoing and active.

A better picture of Theodore's toddler fling, but again, I didn't get great pics. Sometimes I just forget. His personality is 6/8/1/8/6. Almost exactly the same as his father, but with his mother's neatness.

The Oldie Household! Part 3

Lastly, the basement! It's divided into a small laundry room, the main storage area, a work room that exits to the garden, and a tiny bathroom (for when you get too gross from gardening to walk through the house).

The main area is part root/wine cellar, part storage for all their Christmas decorations, knick knacks, old baby supplies, more of Mary Sue's old things, travel trunks, and the various questionably functional things you tend to accumulate over a lifetime. I wonder who got the bowling trophy, Coral or Herb?

The work room has a bench for woodworking, and a bench for canning produce, as well as the area holding the gardening supplies.

Coral wants to make the best of her remaining years. Will she be able to fulfill her life goals in time? Herb plans to spend his remaining years in his favorite chair with a plate of Grilled Cheese on his lap.
