Summary: My Headcanons for sharing a bed with the boys!

Sebastian:

When you first asked him if he wanted to share a bed, he practically jumped straight in it. He was so excited. 

But that was just the first time. 

He stays up reading almost every night so good luck getting him into that bed in the first place after that. 

And by late I mean genuinely unholy hours of the night kinda staying up and he wonders why he looks so tired. 

If you do eventually get him in bed, it doesn’t take him long to actually fall asleep. Aside from the constant lack of sleep he usually gets, he’s always been one to fall asleep quickly. 

He is a human body heater. 

Some nights you may not even need a blanket because he’s just that warm. 

I feel like Seb would be the kind of guy to practically sleep on top of you. Like not enough to crush you but instead it feels like a really nice weighted (and warm) blanket. 

Except for this blanket snores. 

Loud 

I’m sorry I don’t make the rules. 

Sometimes it's really annoying to share a bed with him and other times it's really nice. 

If he ever comes to bed early, it’s how you know he’s had a rough day and just needs to be in your arms for comfort. ..

Ominis:

Unlike Sebastian who would totally be up to sharing a bed, he would be more hesitant. 

It’s not like he doesn’t want to, per se, but he’s used to having his own space and he’s not necessarily the most touchy person. But eventually, he says he’s ready. 

Kinda awkward the first few nights. He slept with his back towards you and didn't make any physical touch at all. 

But after a couple of nights, he slowly starts making the shift to get closer to you and he comes to enjoy it. 

After that, he finds it hard to sleep without you. 

Due to not having the best childhood, he often has nightmares. And for him his nightmares are extremely unnerving due to the fact that he can’t see anything, only hear things. 

But one of the best parts about sharing a bed with you is the fact that whenever his nightmares wake him up, you’re right there next to him. 

He often finds himself reaching out for you in the middle of the night, just to make sure you’re still there. 

 He’s definitely a side sleeper so sometimes you’ll sleep in the spooning position together. This also reassures him a lot that you’re still next to him. ..

Garreth: 

Didn’t take long for you two to start sharing a bed at all. 

Since he has so many siblings he probably had to share a bed with one of his brothers at some point in his childhood anyway. 

But just because he might be used to it does not mean he’s easy to share a bed with. 

This boy is a BED HOGGER. 

If you are quite literally not right up against him, you’re falling off the bed. 

You thought Seb gets hot when he sleeps? 

Well, Garreth has him beat by a LONG shot. 

You could probably fry an egg on this man's back just saying. 

But we all know Garreth has that soft tummy action going on so he’s super comfortable and when he’s not hogging the bed, it’s really nice to cuddle up to him. 

When you too are cuddling, he wants to be as close to you as possible. 

So, really, just the sweetest boy to ever exist. ..

Leander: (because he deserves his place on this list) 

He’s similar to Ominis and opposite of Garreth. 

Had very few siblings growing up, probably only one or two so he was used to having his own space. So it took him a while before he was all good with it. 

This boy is lanky af. 

It’s obviously okay. He’s tall, long, lanky, whatever you wanna call it. 

So he probably sleeps with his legs up somehow to keep his feet from hanging off the bed/smacking into the headboard. 

It probably took him a while to get used to cuddling with someone in bed but now that he’s used to it, he loves it. 

He loves it when you sleep on his chest so he can wrap his arms around you and hold you close. 

He’s definitely not a morning person so have fun getting him out of that bed.

Also has really bad bed-head. How do I know this? No man would style his hair the way he does unless he has bed-head so take my word for it. 

100% a cuddler now. ...

I know we have a lot of headcanons about Ominis' sleeping patterns and schedules. There are some who say that it's because he doesn't sleep peacefully when he's back with his family at the Gaunt Manor, or that he doesn't feel safe sleeping continuously throughout the night, and therefore developed insomnia.

While those headcanons can very well be true, I believe that his sleeping habits have something to do with trauma.

One of the ways a person deals with their unprocessed emotional conflict with trauma is to physically "shut down." And yes, I've years of experience with this cause I've had my psychiatrist treat me with this one, too. So I really resonated with Ominis on this one.

In trauma psychology, we have different types of responses and coping mechanisms. While I'm personally not a psychologist or therapist, I've been diagnosed with narcolepsy due to extreme C-PTSD from physical, mental, and emotional abuse. And while not everyone who goes through trauma will develop narcolepsy or sleep related disorders, there's a study that suggests that people who have had childhood trauma are more susceptible to developing sleep disorders.

Without getting extremely scientific about this, I think it's pretty obvious that Ominis finds comfort in sleeping his troubled mind away. If you combine all of the headcanons about Ominis' odd sleeping behavior with this one, I think it also makes sense that this could be the root cause of him just flopping down on the floor and sleep.

This is also why we have "depression naps" where people can just sleep the whole day away to lessen the mental load of all the subconscious trauma that's waiting to be dealt with. It's easier to sleep it away, and I think Ominis has this trauma response from being physically punished and basically abused throughout his childhood.

Not to add salt on the wound but I also noticed that Ominis likes to sit or lay on the floor when there's perfectly comfortable couches beside him. I think... he's got comfortable with the uncomfortable.

Maybe back in the Gaunt Manor, they used to make him sleep on the floor as punishment for not abiding to their family habits and culture. 🥲

Summary: My HC's for how Sebastian and Ominis react to their partner crying over something silly. (We've all done it)

Sebastian:

He’s wondering why you’re crying at first. He’s really concerned and obviously wants to know what’s going on. 

I mean, you’re absolutely hysterical. How is he not supposed to be concerned? 

When he finally calms you down enough for you to speak, he definitely wasn’t expecting to hear what he did. 

You proceeded, through tears, to tell him the silliest reason why you were sad and beyond just crying at this point. 

He lets out a laugh at first, not a mean one but one purely of disbelief. 

But his attitude changes immediately once he realizes you are being absolutely one-hundred percent serious right now and that you are truly upset.

He quickly apologizes for laughing, telling you that the reason why you’re crying is completely valid–even if he doesn’t understand it. 

He tries his best to comfort you but what do you say to someone who’s crying over something so silly? He has no idea. 

But he just wants you to know he cares a lot. 

Pulls you into his arms and tries to validate how you feel. 

And after a while he gets you to calm down about it and later you two have a laugh about it. 

But overall you’re just glad he cares so much, even if it's over something silly. ..

Ominis:

Immediately, he’s a bit concerned. 

I mean certainly, if you’re this hysterical, something terrible must’ve happened. 

But he also hates prying and isn’t sure if he should talk to you until you calm down, just to make sure he doesn’t upset you more than you seemingly already are. 

Eventually, he gets himself to get up and ask you what’s wrong, expecting it to be pretty serious. 

Then you recount the silly story to him about why you’re upset and he doesn’t expect it at all. 

He’s a little surprised, that’s for sure, but he knows what it’s like to not have your feelings validated about situations or other things. 

So although it’s a little silly, he hugs you and tells you that it’s okay and that you’ll be okay. 

He just wants you to know he’s there for you. 

When you’re also upset about yourself crying over something so silly, he tells you that it’s okay to cry and be upset about things, even if they are silly.  

He really is just the sweetest. ..

My headcanons

Ominis has a gentle and tender soul, but has been traumatised severely by his family.

He suffers from panic attacks and nervous unrest, which are only exacerbated by his generally weak mental constitution -> this weakness stems from his family's incest, together with his congenital blindness.

In the early years of school, it was impossible for Ominis to assert himself against others, and he also suffered from severe mood swings and outbursts of anger

As he only had contact with his family until he entered Hogwarts, he often acted coldly, sometimes even cruelly, towards other students, as he knew no other way of dealing with other people, especially in conflict situations.

Hogwarts Healers helped him to get his mood swings under control and some of the professors took care of him, especially Professor Garlick and Ronen.

After a mental breakdown, Sebastian took pity on him and tried to befriend him, becoming his protector; however, over time it became apparent that he opened up more to Anne's compassionate support.

Ominis is terrified of his older brother, even more so than his father

He is easy to manipulate, which often led Sebastian and Anne to take on pupils who tried to do just that

He finds it difficult to recognise his own worth and even though he is against his family's beliefs, he sometimes falls back on what he has been indoctrinated with

Ominis has a great fear of loss, which often manifests itself in outbursts of anger

After his third year at Hogwarts, he refuses to return to his family during the summer holidays

His brother tried to get him back, but Sebastian negotiates a deal with him - they can stay at Hogwarts and in return he will ensure that Ominis does better at school - a deal that Ominis only finds out about much later through Anne (Anne is the only one who visits Solomon at Feldcroft for a few weeks in the summer break)

Even though Ominis tries to avoid his family at all cost, he writes letters to his mother

Ominis would never say it openly, but he believes that Anne and Sebastian's parents are not as infallible and good as the twins think they are

He is cautious and reserved and only lets the twins persuade him to go on pranks and adventures because he is afraid of losing them otherwise

He has a great need for justice and finds it difficult to tolerate violence, although he is able to overlook the use of violence if he thinks the person deserves it
