Namely that we really should have ended the flashback when WWX fell.#And then gone back to present time for a bit - or even go to a different flashback.#The sense of time passing isn't as strong as it *could* be.#We get *told* three months pass and that they've been looking for WWX. But to the audience it's been...15 min.#Less than seven minutes if you count the flute playing.#This guy when through a whole aesthetic and persona shift in less time than it takes to walk through a corn field.#Guy who listened to less than half an emo album and dyed all his clothes black. And jorted all his jeans.#Timeskips can be sudden and work out just fine! I personally feel like this one would be stronger with better pacing.#Feel free to disagree with me!#In case anyone is wondering why JC and LWJ are still holding hands: 1) Haunted house episode.#2) I needed to practice drawing hand holding at some point. #ok so SO so.#1. the left figure is ghilannain there is no other explanation after the horror of hormak focused on her. the right figure? ?????????????!!#i would love to see andruil at some point bc of her connection to the blight but i dont think its her#2. WHAT IF its not that varric is killed right after the gameplay reveal ended#but instead that he and solas BOTH are taken captive by the evanuris and so we are forced to rescue solas in order to defeat them once agai#this could lead to a solas or varric choice which imo would be pretty cool bc saving either could present a level of disaster#like for example choosing not to save solas could result in the death of an ally or more evanuris getting out etc etc#3. watching my stand-in like watching a really fascinating trainwreck. what do you mean you have this guy who's a perpetual stand-in in like. every part of his life. to the point that when he dies and wakes up in a new body, his only view of himself is a stand-in for the body's mother's son. he is a stand-in and every time he dares to hope for more he is cruelly shot down. the man he loves sees him as a stand-in for the guy he works as a stand-in for. who has like a superior complex in relation to the guy specifically. the only guy who DOESN'T see him as a stand-in arrives with too little too late and has to watch as he let's himself being treated this way by the man he loves and the man that that man loves. and he doesn't even realise what's going on at first (maybe he did, but he doesn't face it until it's literally smeared into his face). and he might try to flee it later, but most likely not, and no matter which way he chooses it will lead to his doom and rebirth. where he very well might be forced to be a stand-in to the same guy but ALSO. a stand-in for HIMSELF. hello. what. where is my popcorn. what

#which is to say that i came home and just stared at the wall for roughly 2 hours instead of completing my documents#it was at least validating to get to talk to one of my coworkers today#and hear that they're just as burnt out as i am#and usually have to sit in the parking lot for 4 to 5 minutes before they come in because they just don't want to be here that badly#and it feels hard to admit because this is typically thought of as a passion driven profession#and it's like#neither of us have lost the passion for it???#it's not that we hate our jobs#it's just that we both feel like. we're putting in increasingly more effort week by week but we're just.#no longer getting results.#i mentioned how i feel like my faith in my ability to do this kind of work has just plummeted to zero#not at all helped by my mentor constantly pushing me to go faster and faster but then getting mad when my presentations go poorly#because i went faster or reduced the amount of material or cut the Q and A section down 10 minutes#i just feel . . . . . tired . . . . . . . . . . .#i still need to write three planning documents for tonight#one of which needs to be Really Good because my direct supervisor will be looking at it#but my god#i just want to sleep for three days straight and then stare at a wall for another three#i'm so close to the end though . . . . .#just another 15 of these documents (including the three from tonight) and that about covers my internship#of course then there's also the seminar work and the group project and all the fancy official employment documents#and. the portfolio project (a man screams in agony)#but god . . . . . . . .#so close . . . . . . . .#so close . . . . . .#once i'm free from the portfolio it's back to zola work and THEN . . . . . . . . . .#i can finally have a substantial mental health break for the first time since last may ;;; _____ ;;;

i feel like after drexit so much of dteamblr just became so protective of dream (which is its own whole thing) that they literally cannot comprehend that dream and his friends are real people who experience nuanced, un-straightforward lives and relationships. like, even if karl was purposely avoiding public interaction with him, that doesnt mean that they dont ever interact privately. and on the quackity thing, dream has made it pretty clear that he wants to repair things between them, so karl's continued interaction with q could act as a bridge between them. or, maybe karl himself is trying to mend his own relationship with q in some way, we dont know. also, why tf would karl continue doing a podcast with sapnap and george, the biggest dream supporters on the planet, if the two of them had beef⁉️ oh wait, i forgot, these people dont know how to think critically about the internet or relationships they are not a part of. n e ways peace and love on planet earth 🫶🏻🫶🏻

#For context: I was going to make a post complaining about how lesbians don't have enough good musical theater duets#(like we have the love songs from 'The Color Purple' which're alright but doesn't match the passion or desperation present in the book imo#'Changing My Major' which is a great love song but doesn't hit that sweet duet spot#'Dance With You' and the last verse of 'You Happened' from The Prom are sweet but the girls barely get to actually sing about each other#Honestly 'Oh Well' from Love In Hate Nation comes closest to what I want but it ends on a bittersweet note unless you see the show live#If only Elphaba and Glinda were canon...#But anyway. I can't believe that there's an adaptation of The Color Purple coming in the year of our lord 2023 and this is#how they're talking about Shug Avery. Her *role model*. Lock up your *husbands*. Ick. Pfaff.#I mean they're going to be gay. You can't get around that. But Shug is the love of her life. Can we please talk about that in the character#Don't mind me I'm just over here overreacting#From what I've read one of the biggest adaptational changes in the musical is her reaction to Shug's affair.#Like in the book Shug is the one light in her life. I sobbed myself to sleep over her nosedive in self-worth when they took a break#In the musical she's just...fine with it? I get why that's more satisfying emotionally but I still think it undermines their relationship#I don't get the curse thing either. I'm a little fuzzier on this part but in the book doesn't she just leave him and she's able to thrive?#Then when he asks her to get back together she's able to just know that the worst with Shug or alone is better than the best with him?#This book man. I hate that there isn't an adaptation as devoted to the Celie/Shug relationship as the book is.#Hate that the only recommendation I've seen calling it a sapphic book was from someone who thought that Celie's letters were to her lover#I remember watching this steamy adaptation of a Shakespeare play in soph Eng and seething because they only kiss once in the 1985 movie#Ig I can't expect too much from 1985 but...it was in the book! It was one of the most important parts! They don't even live together in it!#This was all to say I wast a lesbian 'Green Green Dress' a lesbian 'Home' a lesbian 'Natasha & Anatole' a lesbian Legally Blonde finale#The list goes on#I'm sure The Color Purple (2023) will be a good adaptation and movie. I will not pop blood vessels while watching it.#Maybe I should just avoid press releases and the movie will surprise me in a good way.

thinking about singing in a choir/group in comparison to singing solo/accompanied by music and just thinking abt how comparatively different that is. an orchestral backup to a solo song is nice- and takes a lot of dedication to perfect, certainly- but you will always be missing the synergy that comes with singing with other people. the synchronous intake of breath, the way vocal harmonies hum through the air in a way humans were biologically designed to pay keen attention to. the control and perfection of sound with your body instead of just your hands and limbs, and the perpetual awareness that you're operating in sync with a handful or tens or even a large group of people.
anyways. thinking abt how wigfrid's 'spellbinding' singing voice absolutely did NOT come out of the blue. thinking about how she probably started singing alongside some sort of group before moving to actressing and spending the rest of her career and the rest of her life before the constant singing and being completely alone.
