So, this post made me think about some conviction of mine and I wanted to know your opinions too.

For me, Elvis' voice is better in the 70s, end of story, which is not novelty for any one but naturally we have diverse opinions on the fandom, that's why I like sharing my views on it. I'm not going deep dive about the technical aspects on Elvis' voice because I'm no music teacher, vocal trainer or anything so I'll stick to my feeling as a mere fan. You may love Elvis' 50s voice better, nothing wrong about it since he rocked at all eras - no question about it - but denying his voice was way more amazing in the 70s is like saying Elvis didn't improve himself as a singer over the years which is totally untrue. Let me say it... My fav thing is hearing him singing the 50s songs in the 70s (and late 60s). On the '68 Special when he sang "When My Blue Moon Turns to Gold Again" I was like... literally hollering at my seat (and kept listening to the song over again, each time bringing me closer to watery eyes).

Understand what I'm saying? Both versions amazing, but the 60s one it's just... flawless!

Another of the '68 special's rendition of a 50's song I love happened when Elvis said Scotty Moore asked him to perform "Lawdy Miss Clawdy"… I gotta say, the first time I heard him singing this second song was the '68 version but a few days ago I played the 50s version and… not even close to impress me as much. Although is fairly good, it doesn't hold a candle for Elvis' voice in the late 60' and all the live 70s versions of it.

Anyway... Elvis' from the late 60's on voice is the most! I mean, listening to the 50s version of "Lawdy Miss Clawdy" don't you miss the Sweet Inspirations singing "Bye bye, baby" and "Won't be coming no more..." on the background? The 1972 "Elvis On Tour" version is the best one EVER! And that's what I mean… Elvis kept improving himself as a singer year after year! It doesn't matter how sometimes his sicknesses affected his vocals during the late 70s, because that's very understandable (even tho is a shame) and even when his voice was a weaker (in an Elvis to himself comparison scale), his voice through the 70s is better than his 50s voice alright anyways. C'mon! That's true! By the way, for me, Elvis singing with a sore throat sounds better than 95% of other performers (and the 5% that could possibly outshine him around the time his voice was weak are the 50s-70s ones - his own fellow music performers. Not even one of the today's artist could come close to what Elvis' voice was, even when he sounds a little weak during some late 70s live performances, much less at his voice's best powerful and full vitality moments). That's my opinion.

Anyway... sometimes I wonder: Was Elvis really "the King" in the 50s? I'm not talking about his numbers, the amount of fans, money or fame here, guys. I don't either wanna sound like I'm belittling Elvis' amazing, not ever seen before or after, tremendously impressive successful career. He totally earned being dubbed "The King of Rock Roll" in the 50s considering he's done what no one had ever done before and was really successful at it. We can say he was "the King of Hearts" since the 50's but in music... Okay, all his bold wild dance moves live onstage and his big charisma did it for him to earn the title "the King" too, but even so his voice was great and unique, it wasn't perfect... just yet. I think of him being crowned "the King" in the 50's somehow as "being a promise to be fulfilled" — and it was. During his career he was year after year getting better and better as a singer and performer, showing everyone he indeed was "the King", in spite he was doing movies or recording albums, Elvis never ceased to keep the world's eyes on him and he did it so effortlessly. Even tho he worked his ass off, his charm and talent was natural as day light. Elvis Presley definitely wasn't a regular performer and maybe that's why he was crowned as "the King of Rock and Roll" so early in his career but to me, the moment he absolutely triumphed and proved nobody could ever hold a candle to him was from the late 60's on.

The Elvis we see from late 60s on, performing soulfully onstage is undeniably "THE KING".

What genre do you prefer reading?

Fantasy, murder mystery, romance—the latter only in certain circumstances like a very interesting character or setting. Without that, romance makes me run for the hills.

Are you a planner or a write as I go kind of person?

Yes.

What music do you listen to while writing?

Whatever my current playlist is, which could be a) instrumental soundtrack of something b) a playlist that might or might not be project related (it currently is) containing at least 50% power metal or c) pressing play in youtube for a fun adventure. I can listen to one and the same song for several weeks on repeat.

Favorite books/movies?

I don't really watch many movies. Can't even remember the last one, and there are none I return to with any kind of regularity. I guess The Outsider (2002) was pretty neat. I even made a music video with scenes from the movie and all that XD As for books, some are quite old like The Wind Witch by Susan Dexter, or the Death Gate Cycle by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. Others are indies, like Once Stolen by D.N. Bryn or The Sorceress and the Incubus by Mallory Dunlin. My favorite murder mysteries are the Lindsay Chamberlain books by Beverly Connor, and Wolfsaga by Käthe Recheis is a (German) masterpiece.

Any current WIPs?

One active one, and one on hiatus. The active one is All of our Lives, currently at around 53k with hopes of finishing draft 1 at the end of the year. Suffering, recovery, revenge, happy end :D The other was supposed to strand Riordan in the wilderness, but it turns out, I can't divide my attention atm. Sorry, Riordan :/

If someone were to make a cartoon out of you what would your standard outfit be?

Knee-length summer dress over leggins and a long sleeved shirt, sandals with two differently colored socks, one matching the dress, the other the shirt, and glasses with a black frame. Also give me an ace ring, even if I'm not wearing it anymore atm.

I'm not really sure if that's a cliche or what, but unexpected kindness. Nothing has me sobbing like a character being kind and accepting when no one else (especially those much closer to them) was before. Aaaand we don't think too hard about why that is, let's move on ->

Least favorite cliche:

Oh! *opens draft again 2 seconds before posting and replaces what I had written before* The redeemed bad guy who gets killed off. Letting us get to know them, showing their tragic past and their love for kitties or whatever, and bam, a chapter later, dead, self-sacrifice for the noble hero. Fuck that.

Favorite scene to write?

Funnily enough, torture ranks pretty low, and recovery not much higher. There's always so much at stake and I take forever getting the words down and I keep forgetting injuries and wait which finger did I cut off? Most fun is just writing a happy little scene where the characters hang out and suddenly tell me things about themselves I didn't know yet, and uh, sometimes there's also happy little accidents.

Holy hell. Okay, so listen. Freaking love performing songs like Bring on the Men from Jekyll and Hyde, Noel’s Lament from Ride the Cyclone, and Why Don’t You Do Right (Yeah, that’s right. From freaking Who Framed Rodger Rabbit.) because of the fact I love the idea of being sexually desirable but untouchable. Driving people WILD with lust, but never allowing them to feel more than what I let them (small touches, dragging fabric over their body, that kind of thing) Honestly, I’d do burlesque or some sort of dancing (belly dancing, pole work, floor work) if I was at a smaller size again. So when you’re freaking EXPOSED me like that with exhibition kink description, something NO ONE but myself knows, freaking hell man, I don’t even know what to say lol. One of my fav experiences was teasing my last partner on a Ferris Wheel with light touches whenever no one could see us, but the chance we could’ve got caught. UGH! Love it! Honestly I’d love to put on a show for people and be surrounded, like DAMN! Also, I’ve never heard of predicament play and free use until now so I just went on a deep dive AND YES! I’m glad it went well!!! I know some people automatically assume that someone who wants to go into sex work based career do it only because they have to based off the negative stigma created by media, but I hope that some day people who want to go into sex work because they enjoy it can be viewed the same way as someone who wants to be a doctor or some other career. OOO OO OO! Freaking I’d LOVE to tell you more about all the cool places around me!! Plus, from traveling around the country so much, I got to see many different stylistic choices on how houses or buildings are designed in certain areas and how each city always has some unique variation that no other place has! Like, Cape May, NJ looks like it’s FILLED with Victorian Doll Houses while Baltimore has a more a jazzy vibe. Another fun thing too is that if you like ghostie goos, then it just adds ANOTHER fun layer to the history and architecture talk, cause not only do I do ghost investigations, but I’m also extremely sensitive to that stuff too so I’ll get things and ask someone who works there about it or read it on one of the signs and it’d be EXACTLY what I picked up on. It can be freaky at times but it definitely adds another layer of depth and respect to those who’ve passed. Cool ghost fact that mixes architecture for you! Did you know one of the most used examples of beautifully crafted Victorian/Gilded Age houses in America is located in Gavelston, TX? It’s called Bishop’s House or Gresham’s Castle and it was built in 1892, but it has a catch. Though it’s absolutely beautiful, the most well known ghost, Walter Gresham, absolutely HATES IT when people take photos of his home or even go near it. He’s super protective of his property and is known to push, scratch, trip, or even punch people who get too close. I remember when I couldn’t even go down the street it was on even though I didn’t know about this at the time. My gut was just going like, “NOPE! NOT THERE!” 😂 I don’t do touching lol. Apparently his wife haunts the place too, but they have tours of the house and pics online. But I’ll definitely check it out! I always rushed through there because they had a Tesla coil show that was LOUD and so I’d speed walk to the other exhibit before it started, but now I got a reason to stay 😂 AWWWWW, Flumps sounds ADORABLE!!! 🥹 Oh, but I gotta ask, what scents did y’all get? I always wind up getting very coconut or cake based ones because apparently things I know I can’t eat smell better than things I can. Or maybe I like to torture myself or something, who knows! Lol.

EXACTLY! Sure, fluffy things are nice and all, but your classic yandere isn’t going to be all sunshine and rainbows if you start hanging out with others. Like, they kidnap, manipulate, stalk,

torture, and kill people. It’s gonna be kinda hard to avoid that overall if someone is uncomfortable with those topics, much less the kinkier sides of things. And sure, if they’re not a fan of certain kinks, then they can write fanfics or headcanons without them or stories more suited to their tastes, but they shouldn’t be going to the official source and asking them to change certain aspects because they don’t like it. I mean, people personally change things all the time! Some people might make a character more sub leaning and some might make them dom leaning because it fits their kinks better, but they don’t bully the creators to follow a vision THEY want to see. There are some really nit picky behaviors here definitely.

Maybe~! Maybe I do, but maybe I like to keep you guessing~ Okay, that’s a lie, I’ve been extremely open about everything so I don’t think I’m really hiding anything. Not thinking is nice, I’ll admit~ Definitely makes it harder to write or reread sentences to make sure they’re grammatically correct though 😂

I wasn't bluffing when I said I can tell peoples' kinks from the slightest things. It's wonderful, how desperate you are to be wanted and desired! Makes it much easier to reward you or punish you. theres 22 right now........... some of them have silly names but i am not changing that for this post. i had to put emojis on all of them because i started having trouble finding my playlists at a glance. big al is my favorite (105 songs/covers but like 10 are privated so more like 95) but he actually doesnt get new additions to his playlist that often because no one gaf about big al (and im unreasonably picky about how people tune him given how little content he gets too) but i did add one (1) cover last night so thats awesome

my brain rot playlist is the biggest sitting at 855 songs/covers atm, probably an Unreasonable percent of that is covers because most of my favs (big al, piko, fukase, etc) dont Get originals very often for various reasons. but honestly even in the case of favs who get plenty of originals (len, flower) i still have lots of covers for them too i feel like this is somehow a funny reflection of my tastes which i think are kind of unconventional in terms of the selection of synths i enjoy. but at the same time, my dex playlist has literally 3 songs in it because i just found out i had a dex playlist (i forgot) so all of them are various levels of filled out.

the oliver playlist is particularly sparse (8 songs/covers) which i am sad about because oliver is in my top 5-6 vocaloids but i Rarely find things i like with him (because a lot of people use him for ballads and i am incapable of enjoying ballads 99% of the time even if i can appreciate their beauty. i get bored) and im praying to god that maghni will save me from this terrible fate of empty playlist

my rin playlist is pathetic though because probably at least half of it is rin/len duets but this is not the case for my len playlist so my bias is 100% there unfortunately my matsudappoiyo playlist (66 songs/covers) probably sees the most activity in recent days because i listened to just a few covers for him and it was then the only thing youtube would recommend for several months. ron keine is incidental because people ship him with matsudappoiyo so he just kept Showing Up during this period (14 songs/covers. actually since these are two are utau they might all be covers) but ive grown to like him so i actually listen to it frequently and want to add to it my misc utau playlist doesnt have an emoji right now because what the hell emoji do you use for that. the 🇺 emoji isnt a real emoji outside of discord it just converts to unicode do you know how mad i am about that. open to suggestions on this issue i want to make one for kiyoteru but i probably have less than 10 songs for him right now. maybe less than 5. and every time i make a new playlist i have to wrestle youtube to load my 855 song playlist in its entirety, so that i can find all the songs i have for that specific vocaloid, but is so laggy that its actually a problem, i dont know what to do about it. but ive also seen people with 2000+ song vocaloid playlists so i have no idea what im going to do when i get to that point which given enough time i Will but also its taken 7 (?) years to Passively get to this point so i dont think its an immediate concern either (? unless i go insane? which is not an unrealistic possibility at this point) also im open to vocaloid song suggestions always, and it really does not matter who the vocaloid is because i like all vocaloids (yes all of them. yes even that one) in a perfect world i would make a playlist for every vocaloid, but i think if i made an active effort to do so i would literally die, and its something that can only occur if it happened naturally, which it probably wont because even if i am happy to listen to any vocaloid i Do only actively seek out my favs i really need to make more playlists. but like i am already in this position lol

ahah very interesting, i didnt know about roxy lalonde and homestuck, it seems cute! i've never listened to roxy music either though i know a bit brian eno (he made the soundtrack for a video game i used to play when i was younger: spore)

i got into classic rock thanks to my brother. my parents used to listen to older music but it was mainly french songs (i'm french!) ; so my brother had an ipod with music like blue suede shoes by elvis, imagine by john lennon and famous songs like these and i liked them a lot :^) what made me really into the beatles at first (and then other bands) was because i looked into my mother's records and there was a 7-inch with yellow submarine and i was like: that sounds so fun and cool!!! and that was it, i went on youtube and listened to whatever beatles' song i could find. i also made friend with other beatlemaniacs my age on the internet. i sometimes miss that time, it was pure and cute :^)

i think my fav albums by pink floyd and the beatles are maybe atom heart mother and abbey road!

I checked out Lady Be Good by Mel Torme and I really liked it! The only other musician I listen to who uses scat singing is Christian Vander of Magma, so it was really fun to hear a different take on the technique!

Spore was where I first heard Brian Eno’s work too! (Or maybe it was the Windows 95 startup sound? Maybe not since I grew up with Vista). It’s funny because when I first got into his music I didn’t realize he made the soundtrack for Spore, so when I did find out I was shocked haha! I always love it when I get into a musician, only to find out that I’ve heard their music before. It sorta feels like it was fate that I’d find them again :]

I can definitely relate to yearning for early bandom days. I wish I could go back to a time where my biggest worry was getting home from school so I could make memes about The Beatles haha

Also I love Atom Heart Mother and Abbey Road as well, those are some solid choices!

I’ve only been to two concerts. One of those was for a musician I didn’t really know, but my friends liked so I went with them. Yungblood I think it was? I honestly don’t remember much about him lol. The other concert was Muse, which is a band I do know and enjoy! I’m not too involved in the Muse fandom, but I do really like their music, especially their earlier albums. The concert was amazing too! The band members have a really great stage presence :] How about you? Have you been to any concerts? :D

getting into a relationship has been so weird. bc i thought it will be easy to know if i like them but it's not.

every time i had a crush prior, i would always try to forget them by thinking about the things i don't like about them, their flaws, etc. so now I've trained myself to try to push the thought of 'maybe i like them' away, sometimes before it even happens. it's a self defence mechanism, so i don't get hurt when they don't like me back.

so now i'm focusing on everything i don't like about him and why i shouldn't like them. and i'm not letting myself to fall in love with them, like i always did w crushes.

another thing is being afraid of sharing my thoughts and feelings about someone. especially to them. so when they outwardly says on one of our first dates that he likes me,, it feels like a trick or a trap. like, how can you know so fast,, you don't know me yet, how do you know what you're feeling already. because i can't do all those things. what if they just want to use me? what if they are a narcissist and a manipulator? and i'm just falling on their hook eventhough i feel anxious about it.. why do i feel like there has to be an alterior motive to liking me? am i pushing them away bc anyone who shows an interest in me must be deceiving me?

and if they're honest about what they're feeling, how can i with an clear conscience accept their love if i don't have my own heart figured out? i don't want to hurt them.

also, none of it feels like i thought it would. kissing is not some magical moment, especially when you don't know how. i don't want to jump into bed w them right away, maybe i don't even know what sexual attraction towards a real human being feels like.

...

i sat many nights with those thoughts and the conclusion i've come to is this. so what if you turns out don't really love them, so what if they turn out to be a bad person, so what if it doesn't end w sunshine and roses. don't think about what will happen. don't think about how or how soon it will end. live today. it doesn't matter that much if you love them, what matters more is that it feels good to be with them. and that's enough. it's enough to enjoy the good parts. you don't have to figure yourself put completely. i want to spend time with them and that's enough for now.

Greece - it was pretty good while it was happening but it left no lasting effect. don't remember how it sounds. listen, i love calm songs (very different from ballads) but this year were having a little too many and some are less good than others.

Switzerland - I love the message hut maybe it could've been done in any other way than the generic "ballad-y eurovision (issue) song". it's just not something new or interesting enough for me to excuse it's basicness.

that being said, as with every eurovision, i love everyone.

A series of events:

-One of my closest friend wants to bite the bullet and try up a3 knowing it is so important to me

-Thing is though that friend in question can't bear topics about theater, so he's really just doing it for me. (I did remind him we could drop anytime and that he didn't have to force himself, he just didnt listen)

-After one episode of the anime, he wants to drop it because nothing interested him

-The next day he tells me to watch another one, and go only by a pace of one a day

-Itaru makes his effect. Friend is now clearly watching for me and for Itaru.

-Yes friend made fun of me when i lost it when Chikage was on screen

-Friend made clear he had very little investment in the rest of spring and only cared for Itaru

-He started to feel emotionally hit by Itaru's storyline

-We listen to the a3 musics then. He's notoriously picky about music but ends up vibing with most of the songs, especially Autumn and Winter. He starts to be interested in Autumn.

-We go to Summer, still aiming one episode a day. Friend doesn't like any of the cast except Tenma he loved at first sight

-Tenma resonated with him and suddenly he insisted we binged all of summer in one day. It fucked him up.

-"I am not invested i can quit at anytime" - said a liar

-after Summer he asks to take a break before Autumn because he's scared of them. He didn't expect any of the characters to impact him but knew Autumn would be his type, and now that two characters he didnt expect ripped his heart out he's terrified of what it would mean for him

-He also asks that we resume to one episode a day

-I end up crying about Winter because im normal and i tease him that with the break and the pacing we wont reach him anytime soon, so i was safe

-Evilness oblige he decides that we're going to bing Autumn and Winter on the same fucking day

-Autumn didnt mess him up as much as he thought. At first. In the following days he becomes obsessed and starts to mostly talk about Autumn to me

-He gets bewildered by how little content Hisoka and Azuma had, saying "i thought when you said their arc were cut you were nippicking what the fuck was that"

-He guesses what were the themes of the plotlines by analysing the few we have and the knowledge they're my fav characters. He's 95% spot on. Now he cares winter because he sees me in every characters send help.

-I show him the game's content that was cut from the anime. He appreciates Winter but mostly because of what he can bully me with

-We had planned to stop there, so that he had a baseline to bully me.

-We didn't.

-He got invested in Azami suddenly and asked that we'd read his chapter together

-It messed him up and everything he thought should have hit with Autumn but didn't ended up hitting him a hundred times harder

-Friend gets overly invested. I send him Wandering Ghost. He loses his mind

-We discuss about the fact the song was not translated on yaycupcake

-The next day, as he's very good with Japanese, he decides to translate it and asks me to update his translation to yaycupcake

-he still refuses to acknowledge he's invested.

-Friend also starts to warm up to the cast members he wasnt found of.

-Friend has now asked me to show him Chikage and Guy. I insist that if we do, we read at least Winter 2nd and 3rd play and Spring 3rd.

-Friend complains because as he understands Japanese he's been mainly *listening* to a3 and have a hard time keeping up with the archive's full auto for the unvoiced events

-I bring up the events are voiced on the JPN server

-Friend decide to start playing it

-(i realize i lost my jpn account so i start one along with him)

-We sign in in time for the last 2 days of the spring 9th play event

-Friend decide to go ham

-Friend becomes obsessed with the event song

-Friend translates the song based on lyrics he found, has asked me to post it on yaycupcake (which i willdo when im back home), and is starting to work on a lyrics video for it.

-Friend still insists he's not involved. Despite the fact he regularly brings a3 up out of nowhere and had like 3 existential crisis provoked by characters.

-Friend is frustrated by all that is untranslated on the wiki and wants to help translate more regardless

-Friend is scared shitless about Chikage because i told him about him and he's terrified it's going to fuck him up (As expected from a Sandalphon lover.)

Tldr: i dragged someone into a3, he started out really disliking it, and now he's so worked up by what isnt translated and is working on things.

So there's that.

MY TOUGHTS ON PART THREE OF RED HOOD BY CHIP ZDARSKY :)

A DC RENDITION OF THE SONG “MOTHER KNOWS BEST” FROM TANGLED.

Well, here we are, three issues in this story of only six parts and i still cant tell if i like it or not. What i know for sure tho is that Zdarsky never read any Red Hood books, i had my suspicions but now i am at least 95% sure.

This Jason has been nerfed. We had a perfectly balanced Jason back in 2005 he was smart, skilled, confident and strategic. Then from 2011 to 2020 (let’s put the fact that Lobdell is trash aside for a moment) Jason was skilled, he had the whole “chosen one” thing going on with the all-castle, and in some moments you could even see him being quick witted and confident. But now in this first half of this story he is extremely insecure, his skill set and expertise is barely there and is presented as just reckless. 

The other day i was talking about how DC treats Jason, how they just can’t decide on who he is, what motivates him or what he wants. His personality is a whole ass mess, it was fine in 2005 and 2010 when Winick wrote him but then Lobdell from years 2011 to 2020 just couldn't decide what he wanted to do with Jason or his relationship with Batman and his rules. After Lobdell finally left Jason was passed around people who either only read Lobdell's work, or didn't read anything from him or didn't take into account Jason's life because their book was set in a future that may never happen. 

What i am trying to say is that Jason doesn't have a personality, and writers don't really add things to the Jason that we “know”, what they do is start his story from zero over and over again. There is no consistency to Jason's character and while you could argue that maybe this new start could be the definite version of Jason Todd/Red Hood i will point out that this nerfed version of him is a major disservice to the character that he was when he was brought back to DC.

It’s simply not nice. 

And in this particular issue the “Jason isn't that good at this whole vigilante gig” is even more pushed because of the whole “batman knows best” bullshit. I am not getting this (anthologies) book with a Red Hood story just for Batman to come in and be like “I am actually good at this job, you know nothing AND i have the moral high-ground”, this is NOT it.

If you are reading a Red Hood story chances are that you will be interested in Red Hood not Batman. 

Oh one more thing, Jason was an excellent Robin. He was kind, smart and skilled. I liked the flashbacks in UtRH because it showed Jason being all that but he also understood a couple of things about the kind of criminals that Gotham had, your common thug is easily scared of the concept of Batman but the dress-ups knew that no matter what they did the Bat would never kill them, that’s what Jason thought about criminals there.

This Robin Jason is treated rather poorly by Zdarsky at times, he feels insecure and inferior to Dick but he is also dismissive of him and the Robin mantle in the first issue, now in this one he is shown as way too reckless (which is kinda bad because it feeds into DCs favorite trope of “Jason’s death was Jason’s fault”) and his stance on “low level” criminals is weird, like it was made clear that drug related criminals are Jason’s biggest issue, thieves were not. 

Those are my general thoughts on this issue and the current state of Jason’s characterization. I have some panels from this issue that i want to talk about in more depth tho, so here we go. 

The issue stars were we left off once more, Tyler defends Jason and when Batman asks who he is Tyler says that he is the Blue Hood, that was really sweet of him, that child is adorable and he needs to be protected. 

Once the Bat distracts Tyler Jason tells the Bat that the man he killed was Tyler’s dad. 

There are a couple of things i want to point out from these panels, Jason feels incredibly guilty, not about killing Andy but about leaving Tyler in a situation that is similar to the one he was left in when his own mother died. He still believes that Andy was not a good man and deserved to be dead, after all he was drugging his own son and was the reason Tyler’s mom overdosed and is now in the hospital. It just hits incredibly close to home for Jason and i understand completely. 

The other thing i want to point out is that Jason says “I know your rules. No killing in Gotham” so, this is (to me) confirmation that Jason hasn’t killed in a long time and that he has been sticking to the Bat's rules (at least in Gotham). Andy (a drug-dealer) is the only person that Jason has killed since the events of UtRH (that are apparently canon in this story because it was mentioned in the first issue). 

Following this conversation the Bat says that he will take care of Tyler’s mother (yikes, i really thought in my last post that Jason was the one who would have tried to get her the help she needed, to me it seems more appropriate if Jason does it given that this is his story but what do I know) 

This is where this Red Hood story transforms into the Batman show.

Not only will Bruce take care of Tyler's mom but he will clean up the mess and shut down the making of the drug all by himself. Jason tells him that he will do it but the Bat tells Jason that if he wants to do it they will have to do it together because there is no way he is letting Jason out of his sight, he made a mess!

Yes, nothing like making the lead character look incompetent at his job. Love that for Jason.

Before the team up starts Batman and Red Hood go to Leslie's place to leave Tyler with her. This is a good moment only because there is a dog involved, well…Tyler, Jason and a dog are involved, best panel in the whole issue? I think yes.

Maybe I have a couple more panels that are my favs in this issue, here they are, a lil bit of positivity in this extra bitter post.

Now I will be honest, I hate Batman (Bruce’s Batman, love Dick Bats he was the MVP) so him saying that he is helping a Robin makes me want to shoot him. You are not helping; you are overtaking, as you do. Never a team player, the Batgod must always be the center of the show.

Back in the new cave Bruce talks to Jason about the drug and who he thinks might be behind it's production. He also makes sure to let Jason know that he is very smart and might be the only person outside of Crane's circle that knows how analyze a very unstable compound…weird flex but okay. He also teases Jason about his detective skills. Yay.

Flashback time! Get ready!

Robin Jason and Batman are at a crime scene and Jason doesn’t seem to be in the mood to play CSI: Gotham with Bruce.

At one moment Jason says “and then we will stomp the guy who did this” (“this” being murder), which makes Jim Gordon (who came to see if batman was done playing Sherlock Holmes) uncomfortable, so Batman tells Jason to wait for him. As Jason is going he sees someone acting suspicious.

Back to present day Batman and Red Hood are visiting the woman that created the compound that makes Fear Gas, the interrogation starts well but because this is the Batman show and Jason is bad at reading people and asking questions we have a scene that shows Jason being a bit too much.

I honestly thought that the first question was fair, but then after they leave the office they were in Batman basically goes on a rant about the things that Jason missed.

Ok, I get it Batman = good vigilante. Red Hood = Incompetent.

Zdarsky is honestly trying to make us believe that Jason hasn’t picked up any of those things, in his years as Robin with Batman AND Nightwing? They both taught him, there is no way Jason doesn’t know the basics of how to read people. Also do you guys remember Jason in UtRH and Lost Days? That guy read people perfectly, how is UtRH canon in this story, did Jason lose his skills in the explosion when he blew up the Joker?

As if that wasn’t enough Batman calls Red Hood reckless after they don’t agree on what to do next.

To this I say the following: Never again make me believe that Jason will willingly work with Batman. They don’t work together and neither are willing to meet each other halfway, even less let the other lead. This makes the idea of Jason following the Bat’s rules and him being part of the “Batfamily” the joke that it actually is.

They don’t work well together anymore; bring duality back to Gotham 2021.

Back in the past where the previous flashback is resumed we have Jim telling Batman that the new Robin seems a bit too rough around the edges. Did Jim ever meet Dick as Robin? I mean, don’t get me wrong, Dick was a sweetheart but he also beat criminals alongside batman every night. It just doesn’t feel like what Jason said was that much of a violent statement or anything, maybe I just don’t get it.

But don’t worry if you don’t get it, because we are shown Robin Jason going after that suspicious man, he is beating him asking if he knows anything about the murder or what exactly he was doing so close to the crime scene when Batman arrives. Through Batman we are told that that man was no longer a criminal, to which Jason says this, “…The guy is a jewel thief! He will always be a thief” and Batman responds “I refuse to believe that. Didn’t I meet you in the middle of stealing the Batmobile’s tires?”

I can’t believe Bruce went full “It’s over Jason. I have the moral high ground” on Robin Jason.

I mean Jason is OOC, we know this, but he has to be that way in order to make Batman look better when compared to a child. DC hates Jason Todd #Confirmed.

It kinda reminds me of that thing DC does with Dick and Barbara, Dick is skilled and smart as long as Barbara isn’t in the room, if she is then Dick will forget to check if there is someone inside his apartment and then be thrown across the room by her and then be told that he sucks at putting security in his living space.

Moving on...back to the present one last time Jason is interrogating a man while he dangles him from the edge of a building (did Dick teach him that? I bet he did.) After getting some information he calls Oracle so he can make sure that the place he is going to is safe. Oracle tells him the she will help him but she did not like the fact that the last time she helped him someone ended up dead.

Now, fair warning, Barbara and Jason big NO for me and after Geoff Johns and his antics in Three Jokers I have zero love for their “team-ups”.

Jason says this, 

Believing in him? Excuse me? Chonky, baby, she only helped you find a building.

All I can do at this point is pray to whichever god or whoever hears that this does not lead to Jason pinning for Barbara. We don’t need it (Barbara doesnt need it), I might be overreacting, I hope I am, but nobody wants that kind of drama right now, thanks.

When he arrives to the place he was looking for I think everyone can tell that it’s a trap, everyone but Jason apparently. 

How on earth does Jason not realize it’s a trap up until it’s too late? Are you joking? Is this a Red Hood story? Are we really doing this? Just how incompetent is Jason in Zdarsky’s eyes?

Freeze…is it Freeze? I don’t care but he is there, he freezes Jason and that’s the end of the issue.

Listen, I wish I could say that this is the worst Jason has been treated and that this book is horrible, I wish but I can’t. I can’t do it because this isn’t the worst characterization or book of Jason, this is still a pretty good story, could it be better? Yes.

I mean this story is written by someone who obviously doesn’t know Jason and that sucks but it still isnt the worst characterization and it messes me up. Three Jokers was worse than this, certain plot decisions in Future State: Red Hood were worse than this (in my opinion) and Lobdell’s New52 RHatO was pure trash (that is the worst book, just horrible please dont read it). 

I am saying this only to make it clear that even tho this issue was painful (mostly if you don’t like Batman) I still have hope that it can turn out to be good. I cant help it, i want and need this story to be good and there is still time for it to get better.

Okay here is my spoiler-ful first thoughts on The Prom Movie from someone who is an avid fan of the Broadway show

As I suspected, Kerry Washington was my fav part of the movie lmao. she fucking DELIVERED as Mrs. Greene. The constant annoyance in It’s Not About Me. The nuanced performance in the coming out scene. The AUTHENTICITY WHEN SHE SHOWS UP AT THE PROM. AWKWARDLY HUGGING EMMA. MY HEART.

As for the musical numbers: Just breathe was a bit weird. I know what they were goin for but I personally wasn’t a fan. Still a killer performance from Jo Ellen though

I liked Dance With You, I liked the dream sequence but it was a bit weird that it went from pretty/dreamy cherry blossoms to wandering the empty halls of school? Idk I’ll have to watch that one again cause I was like huh. Interesting choice. I think it might have been partially filmed after the pandemic so that may have something to do with it but I’m not sure? Regardless it was a cute scene and I loved the almost-kiss and I don’t even mind that they cut it a bit short because the soft and abrupt ending worked really well for the film

WE LOOK TO YOU WAS SO GOOD. Like the song itself is good but the Broadway version is so BORING because they’re literally just SITTING THERE doing nothing, but they did SO MUCH MORE WITH IT IN THE FILM AND IT EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS I TEARED UP A BIT

I also did really like the scene for Barry is going to prom too bad corden was there. Wasnt a HUGE fan of the scene where he talks to his mom but it did pay off in his “I just want to dance with you” at the end. It was a nice bit, but overall felt unnecessary and honestly a bit uncomfortable, like, if I hadn’t spoken to my abusive parents in 20 years I would not want someone to be like “hey you should talk to your mom she’s right here”. ANYWAY most of the added stuff for the adults felt unnecessary but that’s how the Broadway show is too so I kind of expected it lol

ARIANA WAS SO GOOD she played Alyssa’s anxiety and awkwardness so well and then everything after the coming out scene with her felt so much more natural and organic and it was so good!!! Like the tension in the first 95% of the movie is palpable and you don’t even realize it’s intentional until after she comes out and can be herself

They sped up the tempo of some of the songs and I wasn’t a big fan of that. Like it wasn’t MUCH but it was just enough for me to notice it because I love the OBCR so much. For songs like Tonight Belongs to You Reprise and Alyssa Greene it doesn’t quite have the same emotional impact when it’s sped up a bit. Like, I still loved both numbers obviously but the tempo just took me out of it a little bit

Anyway overall the movie was sweet and enjoyable and enough like the Broadway show that it made me happy and I would def watch again. The Broadway show will always have a special place in my heart but I’m glad the story will live on in the movie

Miracle in December (Soulmate AU / Ot 7)

Do you believe in a winter miracle? Perhaps, such thing can be exist. Well, for me it was hard to believe too. Not until I met 7 guys during a christmas week. Who knows, not even me, that moment changed me for life.

a/n : This is going to be my first poly bts story so bear with all my mistakes ok? Also, you might see hundreds of soulmate au. I will try my best to write this one, promise. (Sign : Tattoo)

Summary :  Jimin and Namjoon remembered you from the Christmas eve concert. They had the urge that you were their soulmate since then. One day, when everyone entered the cafe, they all met you. Perhaps this was the time for those two to find a prove.

Y/N POV.

21th December

I hated this pandemic so much. I sighed while sipping the tea. This was a week of Christmas, but nothing was going on. No celebration nor decoration around the town. The snow started covering some part of Seoul yet no one came out and felt excited about it. This was the first snow!

‘Ha, my favorite song.’ I glanced at my phone which now playing one of the songs in love yourself album, Her. I loved the meaning of this song. Every time I listen to it, I have an urge to glance at my tattoo.

In this world, a soulmate is common among people. By finding your partner, there must be some sign that connects you with him/her. For me, it was a tattoo. A set of butterflies with different colors were flying and white petals were also flowing along with them.

Sadly, I didn’t find mine yet and now I am 26 years old. Not like I cared since I had already given it up on my 24th birthday. The bell then rang and the door widely open. I glanced at the new customers. They were a group of men. I took my eyes off them before they noticed my gaze and thought I am a creep.

“Hyung I will take a seat there with Jungkook and Namjoon hyung. Order anything for me.” I heard one of them spoke. Hearing those names, my eyes widened a bit.

How could I not? They were BTS....my fav band ever. I was listening to their song a minute ago when the bell rang and they entered. I tried my best to not glanced toward them again. I didn’t want to act like  a stalker.

Author POV.

You were sitting in the corner of the cafe while gazing out the window. Little do you know that someone caught you glanced at them before you took your eyes off.

‘Why is she so familiar?’ Namjoon thought while looking at you. He kept thinking until he took a seat. 

“Jimin, corner table,” Namjoon whispered to the younger boy. Jimin's eyes then started searching until he found your presence. He gasped quietly yet Jungkook and Namjoon caught the sound.

“Hyung, she was that girl remember...when I told you guys last year after our Christmas eve concert...” Jimin chirped excitingly. Making the others who just arrived at the table wonder.

“This cafe is nice. You pick a good choice today.” Hoseok complimented Taehyung.

“What were you guys talking and why were you staring at that girl?”

“Shhhh hyung, you will make her notice us.” Jimin and Jungkook spoke in unison, replying Yoongi.

You then looked around the cafe. You were bored so you decided to order some snacks to fill up your stomach. Jungkook with Namjoon started standing up and followed you.

“I would like...red velvet macaroon please.” You ordered the cashier without noticing 2 men standing next to you.

“We would like to have the same as her please,” Jungkook spoke. Namjoon then took out the cash and paid for you as well as their order.

“Uhh thank you, but you didn’t need to...”

“We insist.” They answered. While waiting, Namjoon struck the conversation with you and followed by Jungkook. Then they invited you to their table. The other, except Jimin, was sitting there with confusion.

“Finally...hi I’m Ji-”

“Uhh well...I know you guys.” You looked at the floor while spoke. Hoseok and Jin glanced at  me with a smile on their face.

“This is akward. Why do you drag the girl here? She must be startled by us.” Jin spoke.

“But she is our...” Jungkook and Jimin tried to reply, but Yoongi interrupted.

“I know she looks familiar...you went to our concert last year, right? For the Christmas eve concert. These two told us they had a feeling that you were our soulmate.”

“I don’t think I’m...” You didn’t get a chance to finish your sentence when Taehyung noticed the tattoo- imprinted the sets of butterflies and petals scattered around them. Representing different colors.

“Yes, you are.” He revealed his sleeves and showed his butterfly tattoo; Representing his color.

Poly soulmates were common, but 7? and with them all? You didn’t want to believe it. Not until when all of them decided to show their wrists. Each of them owns a colored butterfly. Not all of them had the same tattoo as yours, but adding together it was similar to you, except the petals that only you had them.

“Well...let’s call this our first quick date yeah?” Jin proposed.

22nd December

Finding yourself standing in front of their managers and Bang PD nim wasn’t something you expected to happen today. The boys told everything to them and introduced you.

While they were talking, you stood still in your place. You were sweating, despite the cold weather. Your hands were shaking like crazy so does your heart. The sound ‘Lub-Dub’ was so loud that you were so sure everyone could hear it.

“Y/N.... your wrist,” Yoongi called you. You snapped back to the real world and showed them your wrist.

“Unbelievable.” The manager's expression was beyond shock. They couldn’t believe the elegant mark that appears on your skin. Bang PD nim, however, only smiled and gently patted you on your shoulder.

“Welcome to Big Hit, this is such a surprise for me. I never know my boys will grow up so fast. Also, I heard from Jhope that you were their fan, right?” You nodded.

“Then be careful, I think after we have an official announcement, some fans will be wild. If they are too much, tell me and I will take action on that.”

Later on, all of you went to their dorm. They planned to show you around first so you will be familiar with it when you move in after the announcement. Their dorm was huge. Comparing this to your home, yours shouldn’t even call ‘home’.

“What do you want to do? We didn’t have any plan except give you a tour for today. We were sorry that we didn’t ask you what you like or dislike yesterday. It seems like we ranted about ourselves too much.” Namjoon gave you an apology look so do the others.

“No... it fines. Today, a lot happen to me.” You spoke with a soft voice. The feeling of anxiety didn’t leave you alone yet.

‘Then be careful, I think after we have an official announcement, some fans will be wild.’ Thinking of that situation, your face drained color. You were worry that those people would think you were taking advantage of them. This will be a rare case toward the public when the company gives an announcement.

They all looked at each other. Your face showed the word ‘anxiety’ clearly. They then decided to do some icebreaking activities. From playing games, eating dinner together, and having movies night at the end. Everything was simple-but thanks to their efforts, it calmed you down.

Lastly, they finally got to know who you are.

23rd December

Since they weren’t sure whether they will have any schedule on 25th December; they decided to divide today into half. In the morning half, you would be with the hyung line. The afternoon is for the maknae line.

“Ready?” Jin asked the others. They all sat scattered in the living room with patience.

When you stepped out of the room, all eyes were on you. Your palms sweated and your body shook a little. Each of them then started showing different reactions.

“Stop staring, I know I did a great job,” Jin spoke to snapped them back to reality.

“It’s because of Y/N.” Everyone mumble in unison. You who didn’t really know why they were staring got nervous even more.

“Ready, princess?” Jin asked. Namjoon, Yoongi and Jhope were already standing behind him.

‘Ahhh stop my heart is going to burst.’ You chanted in your head while you tried to calm yourself down and nodded as an answer.The maknaes sent you off and bidded you a good bye.

“It so quiet.” You looked around the places. The snow fell and piled themself up-Looking so soft like giant pillows. The atmosphere that usually would be loud with giggles and laughters was nowhere to be seen. You missed the old christmas. 

“It isn’t really fun this year, but at least we get to hang out without anyone bother us.” Jhope replied.

“Pandemic isn’t agood thing. However, we appriciate the time for ourselves. I don’t remember the last time I can walk down the street and relax like this as kim namjoon. This is refreshing.”

You felt guilty and delight at the same time. Guilty because what they had said after your comment. Still, you felt delight that you could walk around with them without creating any controversy.

This small date with them so far was lovely. Even though it was just walking around town, went to each of their favourite places and took pictures, you enjoyed the moment. You were happy they got to enjoy themselves and be themselves. This was how the date should be.

“Y/N...let selfie here.” Jin grabbed you and put you in the middle while the four of them gathered by your side.

“Y/N...Y/N...let’s play arcade.” Taehyung proposed the idea while his eyes shoned brightly as if they were stars.

“Yeah let’s pair up. Me and Y/N, you and Jimin hyung.” Jungkook wrapped his arm around your shoulder. Your body got tense. The other two scolded him for his action.

After a long long arguement of who should be your partner, you finally got to play some games. You told them you would pair up with all of them. That became a final decision.

“Both of you should seperate, you guys are too good.” Jimin whined and pouted. When you and Jungkook became a pair, to 95 lines, it was like they had zero chance to win. 

“No.. I’m not...that good.” You denied with a stutter.

“I didn’t know you are an arcade geek.” Taehyung teased. Your face which already turned pink became crimson red. You couldn’t really handle when someone compliment or tease you. 

“Anothe round?” Jungkook proposed.

24th December

“Anything more?” You asked Jin and Jhope who was checking carefully. They didn’t want to miss any decorations for tomorrow.

“I think that’s all. Hyung, do you want me to buy more meat? I think there’s not much left in the fridge.” Namjoon checked the fridge again to make sure what they need to buy more.

“Finished?” 

Yoongi stood with a car key ready in his hand. When Jin finished the list, he gave to you. Jhope also reminded you and Namjoon to get everything, especially Namjoon.

“Please, take care of this baby as well.”

“Uhh..huh?” You nodded while Namjoon protested in the back. 

Indeed, on the 25th December, they had to perform. You made sure to go there and support them. Their performance was perfect. You eyes glued toward the screen in the back stage. You heart beated accordingly to the songs and your own excitement.

“How was it Y/N?” Jimin asked you pridefully. You were still zone out even after the performance finish for awhile and they entered the room.

“Her eyes glued to the screen.” The manager crew then chuckled. Making you blush and hid you face with your palm. With that sight, all of them laughed with delight.

“Now it’s the time to celebrate!!!” Jhope hyped with Jungkook and Taehyung along his side.

Living with them for nearly a week made you see various things. You got to know who their real selves. Everything about them that you got to learn was such a surprise, in spite that, you fell for them. And for this time, it wasn’t because of how they were your idols with good looking faces, enchanted voice and hardcore rap skills. This was because of their personalities, how they get along sometimes and fight the other time, how they were like biological brothers and how they loved one another.

You snapped back to reality. It has been a week and a half. You didn’t think that day at the cafe would lead you here. Thanking youself and your decision, you then answered the owner of that question.

“What is running in your little mind,petal?”

“Nothing really, just trying to process...”

“You still don’t believe it, do you.” Namjoon sighed and took a seat opposite you. Sipping his favourit cup of coffee, he looked at you deeply. You felt like he was searching something within your soul.

“Well, if you were in my position, it would be hard to believe, wouldn’t it?” You threw a question back to him as your answer.

“It wouldn’t, we trust our feeling.” Another voice appeared in between their conversation. Jungkook who just entered with Yoongi appraoched you guys and took a seat.

“It hard to explain, but when we first took a glance in the crowd and saw you, there was this feeling pounding in our chest....”

“And none of us couldn’t ignore it.” Yoongi finished Jungkook’s sentence.

Three of them now looked at you. Their eyes were begging you to believe and have a faith in them. Even if, this was something out of ordinary. 

“What a serious convo...” 

The rest of them entered. Jhope spoke and gathered around the four of you. Taehyung and Jimin could see how the other three tensed up. Jin, who tried hard to understand the situation, looked at you for the answer.

“You didn’t reject us, did you?” Jin asked with his firm voice.

Now six pair of eyes stared at you, fully upset with what thir oldest has asked. In the pass week, they had already prepared for rejection. However, as a human, they protected themselves by thinnking positively that you wouldn’t say it. 

BTS, the world boy band, wouldn’t get reject from anyone especially their own soulmate. Everyone loved them...right?

The atmosphere filled with nothing but silence. No one dared to speak. Only looking around and to each other. They sat there sweating. Heart beated like a drum. They couldn’t even breathe properly anymore.

“If I rejected you that day, I wouldn’t be here. Am I right?” Your arms now widely openned. And like the kids who finally found their mother, they ran into you and hugged tightly. Gripping on you as if you would escape them.

“Happy new year guys.”

“Happy new year petal.”

Perhaps, december is the most miraculous month.

hey! if u don't mind me asking can u pls tell me why spotify isn't good? i've been considering getting spotify bc of everyone talking abt how superior it is and i'd love to hear an alternative opinion bc ive been very much on the fence. thank u! 🌸

Helloo ^.^, lol just wanted to say that I’m not a Spotify anti and before I go on I have used Apple Music for like 4 yrs so my opinions are based on comparisons so pls take with a grain of salt.

Okay! So I’ve used Spotify for less than a month and in the beginning I had some functionality issues which I found exasperating. One of them being that there was no rewind button feature on my lockscreen, so in order to take back a song and relisten to it I had to change it through the control center or go back into the app, or hold onto that lil line and scrub. Another one was that my AirPods Pro double tap feature to either fast forward or rewind only did the former so i was contantly hovering over the app. (Unlocking my phone is a hassle for me cause I walk around without it on me or it’s shoved in my purse/armband when I run or I listen on my iPad which I don’t lug around the house).

The algorithm is also very try hard, it’s like it’s rushing to pay attention to you. I’m sure people like this but for me it’s like “i listened to this track for half a minute It’s not my favorite 😭”. I’m not sure if this is a setting you can turn off but the list of songs never end 😳. I was freaked out when I finished listening to the last song on an album, the algorithm just continues playing other songs (either from the same artist or similar artists). This happened when I finished listening to The Boyz and it started playing a stray kids song, not exactly a fan of stray kids guys so it felt like I was forced to listen to them. That being said I do enjoy some of the perks of the algorithm, I’ve only been on Spotify for a short time but with its help I was able to add songs a lot quicker to my library. The daily mix recs are also really spot on.

The layout is -.- sigh~ everything is all just clustered into 3 bottom bar options. The first one has all these things put into one, podcasts, recently played, your fav artists, radio etc. The second is your search bar And third is your library (these aren’t bad). Nice and minimal but once I’m in that first one I’m overwhelmed and don’t even scroll past the first two subheadings. There is also no lyrics feature for like 95% of the songs on there. I listen to mumble rappers like Young Thug and Roddy Rich so I like to know wth they’re saying lol. Some songs have moving images which is pretty cool.

Anyhow, whatever perks you’ve heard about Spotify from others is most likely true and I can even say worthwhile. I know that cause my friend has like 2 Google home minis for free and gets these reciptify thingie that excites her lol. It’s also tax free, Apple Music Canada started taxations on its service at the beginning of this year so it costs a bit more. Basically I felt like making a switch was kind of pointless as an Apple user, if you use android then I definitely would recommend Spotify. I chose to switch cause my friend told me that it has a memory space saver option. I hoard songs so my Apple Music currently takes up 30gb of my 64gb phone -.- but do research more beforehand who knows the benefits highlited by others might entice you more. <3
