hey salty! i've been a fan of the channel for a little while now, and i just wanted to tell you that you've inspired me to get out of my content burnout (even though i've only made streams as of now but it's whatever). your videos are super funny, and it's made me want to get into editing more than ever. i just wanted to ask how you made certain aspects in your videos, like having the little characters pop up and make them super expressive like in the HYAAs and the friendlockes (the new one was super good btw!) or the way you edit stuff in general. i just like how much care and effort is made for these videos and i wanna do something like it. sorry for the long ask btw it's not intentional lmao

It’s kind of difficult ro fully dive into with a simple Tumblr ask, and I’ve been meaning to do some short form editing tutorials on the side channel, but I’ll try my best to make a brief overview so you can look up the proper terms on your own for now!

There’s 3 different ways I can make stuff move and shake.

The simplest are Plug-Ins. I use Adobe Premiere for editing, and you can use free templates and plug ins and drag them onto images/footage on your timeline to do pre-made edits.

For shaking, I use these plug-ins that were made for the original Deadpool movie! Really cool that these are available for free online, super cool and accessible for anyone! And while they are made for premiere, I’m pretty sure there are other software that can also use it!

Then there’s Keyframing. This is a bit more complex and nuanced, but most editing softwares have the feature. It’s basically the manual moving of assets. The best thing about certain software, is for keyframing, all you have to do is set the points you want the image to move and the application does the rest for you and fills in the movement.

Like, if I place one keyframe on a picture where it’s on the left of the screen, and one keyframe where it’s on the right side of the screen, the software will make the picture move from left to right!

Finally, After Effects!

Compared to normal editing software, After Effects has a heavy focus on shorter visual edits instead of entire videos, but using it in combination with normal editing software can lead to some more complex edits! However in turn, After Effects can feel much harder to learn.

In After Effects, you can program/set a “Wiggle” effect on clips to get the sort of movement I have during “Have You Heard About” videos where the avatars wiggle around! I’ve made my own reusable transparent clips of each Avatar wiggling for ease of access and editing each episode.

Hope that this short break down points you in the right direction! Again, I’d love to talk more in specific about this stuff in some unscripted side channel videos, so I’d anyone has any questions on how to do stuff, let me know! I’m not a “massive brained” editor or anything, but I can def showcase how to do some stuff in the future!

Waiters and waitresses rushed by your table, platters of fine wines and cheese charcuterie boards bustling past. For one of the fanciest and highest-rated restaurants in Japan, you somehow felt uncomfortable.

Your husband, Keigo, sat across from you at your premier seating arrangement. Your view was gorgeous, you couldn't deny it.

It was a red brick rooftop overlooking the city below, with the sun setting across the skyscrapers, painting them in soft shades of lavender and baby blue just as the sun was sinking.

The city below you was alive, it was Friday night after all. Horns honked on the roadways below, everyone rushing around to meet up with friends or get home to watch the newest episode of their favorite show.

The best view was the one sitting across from you- Keigo. Leaning back in his chair, he seemed completely unbothered by the looks the two of you were getting.

It wasn't hard to see why he was the best sight around. His blonde curls were soft and smoothed out of his face, just a stray curl falling out of place to lay on his forehead.

His hair was longer than usual, but you didn't seem to mind. You preferred to run your fingers through the feathery pieces when they were longer, as it gave you a way to draw him close to you.

Keigo's skin was clear and ever so slightly dewy from the heat of the night, the bastard. Paired with his golden gaze and dark, thick lashes, he was glowing.

The part that seemed to have you bewitched was the white button-down covering his torso. It was a plain, white dress shirt, yes, but Keigo made it look like it should have been on a runway.

The sleeves were rolled up neatly to his elbows, showing off his strong and thick forearms. To fancy up his outfit, he even wore his newest watch, the silver glinting with the rays of the sun.

As if that wasn't enough, a few bands of silver covered his fingers, the rings enhancing the length and thickness of the digits, which you had to keep steering your mind away from.

Keigo seemed to be on a roll trying to distract you because in addition to his arms and hands looking inviting, the top two buttons were undone around his collar. His defined clavicle poked through, the necklace with your initial hanging around his neck making your heart flutter every time you looked at it.

To top it all off, well-fitting black slacks and dress shoes pulled the whole look together. And he had the audacity to sit across from you and not even realize he was a heaven-sent angel.

"Hey love," his voice rips you out of your trance, "I'm thinking I either want the grilled chicken salad or the pork shogayaki. What do you think?"

His eyes flash up to meet yours innocently, his golden gaze genuine as he gauged your reaction. He gets distracted looking at you though.

There you are, looking shy and uncomfortable, yet breathtakingly beautiful. Your hair was pinned up on your head, leaving your neck accessible to the air to stay cool.

Small bits and pieces of jewelry donned your ears, wrists, and neck, but nothing too flashy. Even though Keigo promised to take you to the fanciest place in Japan, you didn't feel like standing out.

A black dress was your first choice, the cut tight around your waist but flowed out around your hips, the fabric perfect for getting twirled around the dance floor.

Keigo's favorite part about your look? The deep burgundy lipstick that glimmered almost too much on your lips. They just looked so kissable, so bite-able, that he was completely distracted from ordering.

You look back at your husband, giving him an uncertain smile before mumbling, "Oh, that all sounds lovely, but..." You trail off as another set of waiters hustle by, and you scooch toward Keigo to avoid them.

His hand immediately comes up to rest on the back of your chair, his gaze following the wait staff to ensure none of them touched you by accident.

When the coast is clear and he turns back to you, your face still holds a hint of nervousness. He smiles at you softly and asks, "Spit it out, love."

You close your eyes and huff before picking up his golden gaze and murmuring, "I kind of just want to go home."

Before he can say anything, you wave your hands in front of you and protest, "And it's not because dinner isn't going to be good or I don't enjoy the view, or that I don't appreciate you bringing me to this really fancy-" "Y/n/n," he cuts you off.

He gives you a wide and cheeky grin as he replies, "Doll, I was waiting to see how long it took you to break." Your mouth falls open in shock as you playfully swat at him, but he chuckles and catches your failed attempt.

Instead, he clasps your wrist and hauls you to your feet, walking you around the tables to the edge of the restaurant. His wings poof out behind him, and he releases your hand to step up onto the edge of the roof.

Then, Keigo turns around to face you, well aware of the gazes of everyone around you glued to his spectacle. He grins wickedly before offering you his hand and stating, "My lady?"

You roll your eyes as you take his hand, and just like that, you are whisked off into the sunset. You can't help the laugh that falls from your lips as he wraps his arms around you, the wind tugging at your clothes and hair.

Keigo tries flying as smoothly as he can to get you home comfortably, but he also enjoys the time he can have you wrapped up in his arms without a care in the world.

The second you land on your specialized balcony after your short flight, he sets you down gently, wrapping his arms around your waist. Keigo gazes down at you softly and whispers, "I don't care if we go out to the fanciest place to eat or stay in and order KFC. I just want to see you smile and be happy."

Your hands come up to play with the hair at the base of his neck as you whisper back, "I am happy." He smiles at you gently, leaning in to kiss you before he freezes.

His sharp gaze manages to see a smudge of lipstick at the edge of your bottom lip. Must have bumped something on the flight home.

You pout as he pulls away from you, and it takes everything in him to not lean down and smash his lips against yours at the plushness of your lips. Keigo just chuckles and says, "Hold on baby, let me fix this for you."

Your body stills as one of his hands comes up to cup your cheek gently, his thumb swiping against your bottom lip to clear off the small red stain. Just before he can completely pull his hand away, you ever so slightly lean forward, pressing a soft kiss to the tip of his finger, painting it red.

You can feel his body pause against yours, and you giggle at the red suddenly dusting Keigo's cheeks. "Good to know I still have that effect on you after all these years," you joke, tightening your grip on his hair.

"Oh love, you have that effect on me every day. And in this dress?" He whistles at the end of his sentence, his gaze flickering up and down to take in your appearance. Keigo's words are flirty, yes, but his eyes are full of love as he leans into you, gently nuzzling your nose against his own.

"Keigo Takami, are you just trying to get in my pants?"

"Y/n Takami, are you always this enchanting?"

"C'mon bird brain, show me how you'd like to clean up this lipstick."

Ok so I finally started season 2 of Merlin and.. is it obvious to anyone else that there's a massive like "tonal" shift between the first season and this? I'm only two episodes in and it already feels like they've changed merthur and arwens respective dynamics SO much ? And all for the quick laughs but like at the detriment to all the characters growths

All of arthur's progress in humility in the first season so far seems gone or distorted purely for comedic value. He's becoming an ass again and they don't say anything occurred from finale to premier to tell us why.

Merlin's self worth(?) Seems way worse even than when he thought himself an abomination, like he's already going down the path of obsession and deceit but we don't even see a conceivable reason why.(also his relationship with Gaius seems to be getting worse too) And

Gwen bless her she's getting more of a voice and I love that for her but i def think her sudden feelings for Arthur seem out of place?? Idk I'm bored of het ships not even trying to show us chemistry and the slow path towards a relationship

it's like they're leaning way harder into the drama so far. Every scene is like this big production lol

But it feels like Merlin should have had at least one person consistently around who actually had an eye out for him and his best interests not their own fears or hatred (like Gaius and kilgarrah) to basically give him the confidence boost he needed to know he was still seen and loved and appreciated for all he does for Arthur and the other knights.

If Merlin hadn't been scared into lying to Morgana and fearing himself he wouldn't have gotten so lost in himself. The show got darker and then sort of didn't give him a friend he could talk to besides Lance who died (twice??)

okay I'm gonna have to rewatch it bcz as always this show is pretty faced paced and I might've missed a bit (although partially my fault I was tryna eat at the same time as watching it) but holy shit that was incredible

I'm waiting for fansubs to come out before I watch each episode as I don't speak Chinese and would rather not watch the episodes uncaptioned, so this is completely about Season 4 Episode 1! I'm gonna make a post like this for each episode I think!

So far, I love it! I can't place my thoughts exactly on why or how but it's definitely the best season premiere yet, I was worried going into it because I know member(s) of the crew who really helped shape the show left after season 3 but it seems the show is in very good hands still!

Something that's always bothered me, seems to be less longer present in this first episode at least

It's always a pet peeve of mine when none of the characters in a world other than the main ones really seem like they're there, if that makes sense? Like, there just isn't ever much interaction between the main characters and just the normal civilians I can think of a few times where it happens but thats it, and it just makes the world feel a little less real when the background characters never speak or do anything other than stand or walk there. But there was a bit more interaction between the main cast and the random people on the street and that made it feel just a little more of a real world rather than one that only exists for the main cast

Also the scene where MK was talking about how much he messed up nearly made me cry . I feel so bad for him omg

but yeah I literally do not have anything bad to say about this show as a whole aside from the fast pacing which, to be honest they have to squeeze so much in a small and short episode order so I can't blame them

just rewatched graduation day and omg i love the mayor as a villain because of how human he is compared to other antagonists, he is evil but that is not ALL that he is. he still retains parts of his humanity, like his genuine care for faith, his politeness, humour, and his dislike of germs, all these traits make him a much more real villain. he is more than just a monster. the mayor is the evil that no one can see, hidden behind a guise of friendliness and charm, the evil that lives within those corrupted by power and greed, the evil that is enabled by institutions (i.e. education, law enforcement, capitalism) and unquestioned by the population, his biggest power lies within his humanness. the mayor is manipulative, hiding his true nature and intentions behind good manners, which is true for so many evil men in real life, they are not so easily distinguished as bad, unlike some other villains in the show who are uncomplex (*cough cough* the master, adam) and that fits in with a big theme of s3 which is the fight against oppressive systems hidden in plain sight,,, in the season premiere buffy literally leads an underground worker's uprising wielding a hammer and sickle like cmon, so the big bad of the season being a corrupt bureaucrat that seems pretty normal at first makes so much sense, its about the hidden evil, its about institutions restricting and harming adolescent lives. which makes the finale episode so juicy, because the youth collaborate and take up arms to overthrow an evil oppressive government, the big fight scene is about solidarity and unity of teenagers revolting against tyrants,,,,,

like YEAH maybe it IS possible to start a revolution and change our fates in this corrupt system if the youth unite to fight the evil TOGETHER,,,,,, i could talk about season 3 and the institutional antagonists for AGES, but in conclusion the mayor is one of the best villains because of his humanity, his closeness to real life, the mayor is scary because of his power and status in human world,,, and like truly theres nothing more terrifying than a politician

final thoughts: dude, that episode was the literal first episode of the first season and it’s already perfection. I’m in love with the characters, the action, actually seeing what I’ve imagined in my head for so long. and I’m falling in love with the storyline as if it’s for the first time all over again and it’s amazing and I absolutely love it.

Okay, I know I wrote in my description that I'm currently in Shadow and Bone phase. But my first post here just needs to be about my first love - The Walking Dead. And because I'm nerd, I need to show this here.

    So...if you also was watching TWD episode by episode every week when it was released, you for sure remember the break between seasons and half season. Always around 4 months and of course, there were a lot of leaks, photos from drones and rumors.

    It was the first quarter of 2017 (omg it was 6 years ago) and we got this leak. I couldn't find it on the internet and on my phone I only got the Spanish version. Basically it means "In the 13 episode we will get a reveal that Paul "Jesus" Rovia is homosexual". In the show it was actually changed and we got a reveal in episode 14, bcs of the switch between 13 and 14 episodes (for people who don't remember that were 2 episodes which were both  happening at the same time but in two different places and which was first doesn't really matter).

So it's around a month or two before the premiere of season 7B. I'm 15 and I can't stop thinking about what they are going to do. I write some propositions and I'm gonna share them now with you guys. Some of them contain minor spoilers from the comic books.

   1 . Somebody is gonna fall from him. I was 15, in denial that I'm mostly gay and just thought &quot;It's Tom Payne, everybody finds him super attractive, right?&quot;. So, in my mind, some character would just develop a crush on him or fall in love. Of course, female character, maybe some dramatic kiss scene when he needs to take a step back and say "I'm sorry, but it's not gonna work". I didn't have anybody particular in mind for this. but it was still an option. 

   2. Similar to the first one but just looking for comfort. I started reading more comics. and if somebody didn't read comics, we got a lot  more  friends with benefits and "lovers" (meaning only bed lovers, not really relationships). Michonne was literally trying to sleep with every black guy in comics. So I was thinking maybe Sasha or Maggie would need some comfort after what Negan did and he would just be there for them. Even if they didn't try to sleep with him, maybe some cuddling and him saying this just to be sure they don't want anything more. Maybe before this some typical TV scenes after which people ship them a little bit or something.

   3. Some gay comfort scene with Daryl, Aaron, Eric or four of them. If anybody don't know this - there are rumors that Daryl was supposed to be gay and reveal of it was planned for season 3 or something around but they resigned of this concept (probably gonna write more about this someday). Anyway, I was thinking about a couple of options here:

    3.1. Jesus having amazing gay radar and just goes to talk with Daryl in casual  acting like it's obvious. He would panic and, you know, be grumpy about that OR which I actually think would actually be  the best way - also act like this is basic knowledge. People would be so freaking mad.

   3.2. Some deep conversation between him and Daryl, their backstory, of course, mostly Paul doing the talking and some sentences like "I don't know why I'm saying this to you . We don't really know each other".

   3.3. Some fluff comfort scene with Aaron and Eric, maybe even play it as a joke with their iconic sentence from a comic book. So in the comics, Aaron, after Eric died, says something about them being their last gays in the world. Like can you imagine a scene like that:

J: "So you live in this house?"

A: "Yeah, almost from the start."

E: "Two last gays in the world."

J: "So I would be third."

A: ...

E: ...

J: ...

D: "Forth!"

T: "Why people always forget lesbians?"

   4. Alex! Yeah, for people who didn't read comics or did it some time ago and don't remember Alex is Jesus' lover and nurse in Hilltop. In the comics, we got reveal in the way that when Paul is in Hilltop, Alex comes to his room and asks him to cuddle and read with him. With time, it's clear that Alex wanted something more and Paul just didn't feel it. They eventually split apart, Alex got a boyfriend and hopefully happy ever after. Anyway, this would be cool. Some one-sided love, an amazing example of the fact that being gay doesn't mean somebody would fall for every guy and it's a good example of grey side of Jesus bcs he really isn't honest with Alex and doesn't treat him like he should. Also, we would get a nurse, which would be cool bcs in the show I sometimes feel like they forgot that doctors aren't the only people who work in healthcare. Like paramedics and nurses exist.

 

   5. Like literally anything other than what we get. Don't get me wrong - this scene with Maggie is cute, but because it's the only scene about that, I needed something more. If he eventually got a romantic or bed partner I wouldn't say anything, but after he died people all over the internet literally arguing that he wasn't gay on a TV show bcs nobody remembers this scene. It was a pre-credits scene which you could really easily skip and you didn't know you had missed anything.

    I think they know they have Aaron and Eric so they don't want to have another gay couple (so Alex wasn't an option) and want this to be quiet. It was just a preparation for the future Aaron and Paul, which we never get. It's really sad bcs after this, Paul was literally cut off the series, being in a couple of episodes per season to the point when actor just don't wanna be part of it anymore (and I can't blame him). Even after that, they didn't have enough courage to make him and Aaron officially a couple of lovers. We only got suggestions and baits but nothing official.

    I would really like to read a fanfiction about any of the options which I wrote above. In the meantime, have an amazing weekend and to the next!

Ep 3. Simon will initiate the kiss because Wille wants to wait for him to decide whether or not he wants to be with him

3. How will Simon find out about August being behind the leak?

It's a tough question because there are so many different ways for him to find out, but I think the one that's NOT going to be is for Wille to tell him because he knows Simon doesn't want to be in contact with him at the moment. So I think it's possible that he find out because Sara told him, or by listening to someone else's conversation (Sara, Felice or even August himself). Either way I think Simon will be very angry, with August obviously, Sara (and maybe Wille) for not telling him.

4. Will there be snow in s2?

Yes!

5. Will there be any physical fight (if yes, who will be involved)?

Idk, but if there's one I think it would be Simon fighting August after he found out it was him who leaked the video

6. Will Wilhelm abdicate?

No

7. Will Wilhelm make a new public statement about his sexuality?

Yes

No, and if there's one, it won't be a major issue, just a background character.

FROM Season 3 Trailer: It's Here and OMG!

FROMily! You ready for some fresh nightmare fuel? MGM+ just dropped the first look at season 3, and let me tell you, things are about to get CRAZY. We all know FROM isn't exactly a walk in the park. FROM Season 2 left us with more questions than answers, and the danger in this messed-up town was already off the charts. Hi! I'm also writing a beatlesy script- in mine I frankly don't go much in depth on the horrors of Beatlemania but what I do is make the guys look increasingly panicked and uncomfortable when being swarmed by both fans and paparazzi, in a sort of montage.

I also plan to have them be a bit more jumpy with one another.  Like if one of them taps the other's shoulder, they'd expect it to be a fan and sort of stumble a bit, before realising it's one of them.

Also I'd have a lot of the scenes take place inside rather than outside- Kinda to show the isolation that they'd impose upon themselves because they didn't wanna get chased, which would've made them feel almost claustrophobic wherever they were.

I guess it's the subtle actions that really show how traumatised they were, and so even having a bit of that in there could show the effect it really had, in their ordinary lives.

Sorry if this sounds very scattered lol. I wish you the best of luck with your own script, and hope that anything that I detailed helped a bit :)

interestingly enough i had a similar idea to open the script - a 1964/1965 montage showcasing various career milestones & events that were direct consequences of their fame (performances, movie premieres, photoshoots etc etc) but it progressively gets more and more bizarre as their boundaries are constantly ignored and the public start treating them as Products of The Beatle™ Brand and not ppl anymore

this is to sort of establish the main conflict of the episode - the disillusionment of their own status + how fame as effectively sucked the humanity out of their public personas and how they're more than just whatever nickname press gave them (my script(s) focuses more on george so that's another can of worms lol)

Currently watching

Cherry blossom after winter- loving this a lot I already thought I was gonna like it before it premiered but I like it waaaay more than thought honestly I think it’s going to be the best KBL I ever watched

Cutie pie- at first I was not Vibing with this show but then I kinda changed the way I was thinking about and I realize it’s actually a really good show and I’m so excited for the next episode

Enchanté- yeah I like this show, good show, solid show

Koisenu futari- it took me so long time to find a way to watch this show and soooo much effort way more than I’ve put into finding a show in a while I forgot the struggle, I came to so many dead ends and I was this close to giving up and at like the third wall I hit I fucking got it, and I’m so glad I didn’t give up cause this show is fucking fire so far, I’m about to start ep 5, and dare I say the best asexual representation I’ve ever seen from show

La cuisine- this one is very classic cute and simple and I love it a lot it’s nothing crazy it’s very straight to the point but it reminds of the BLs I used to watch when I first discovered BLs and it’s like oddly nostalgic for me lol

Love stage!!- shows great, a little hard to find good subtitles but it works out

Physical therapy- I hate this show I’m only watching this cause I started it and I hate quitting shows especially this close to the end there is one pro to this show and it’s the the main couple do have some of the best chemistry I’ve seen like they can be doing the most mundane things and it gets me shy but even that isn’t enough to make me like the show as a whole

The tuxedo- this show is fine it’s 8 eps with a 20 min run time so not huge commitment so I’m into it even if it gets bad, so far so good I’m invested in the story so I’m not having a miserable time

Dear doctor, I’m coming for soul- I’m starting this one probably today i was just waiting to get caught up on the tuxedo first and I just finished that yesterday

SCOY- I’m gonna start this as soon as start dear doctor, I was gonna watch this when it was first announced cause I was excited for multiple reasons but overtime I had a feeling it wasn’t going to be good so I changed my mind but then I changed my mind again cause it was only 6 episodes but then it updated to 14 and I was out again cause what if it was so bad i would have to stay cause I don’t like starting and then abandoning them unless it’s absolutely necessary but as it’s been on I’ve been keeping my eye on it and it’s peeking my interest so i think I’m gonna watch it even it is bad, I mean I hate physical therapy but I watched it from the beginning and I’m going to the end, I can do it for SCOY

Blueming- I’m so excited for this I think it’s going to be really good, if you didn’t know I’m not a huge fan of KBLs but so far this year they have been blowing me out of the water and there’s like a bunch I’m actually looking forward to which doesn’t really happen for me

Kinnporsche- finally will be watching this one but lowkey not sure if I’m gonna like it as much as I thought

I hate shit like this absolutely hate shit like this and like heard talking of the show for a while and like obviously I wasn’t going to watch it but then recently they released a trailer and I was just around so I just watched it just for kicks and giggles‘s and I liked it alot like the main couple was better than thought they were going to be and the side BL couple was cute as hell then they showed a side GL couple and I died and I had to watch it and now it’s on my list and now I’m gonna watch a show where a man and a cat fall in love,,,,☠️ also just to add this trailer had no subtitles and still got me invested in the story somehow and the GL couple is like a sort of boss and assistant/ underling employee situation and oh god I love the power imbalance I have to watch it
