PROPAGANDA
Mapleshade
Apparently some parts of the warriors fandom can't wrap their head around an unreliable narrator. She's not an innocent victim or a pure evil villain. She's complex. She was selfish, she took advantage of people but she was also cheated on by her mate (who by the way face little to no repercussions for having a half clan relationship with Mapleshade) and forced to leave her kit's bodies to be buried on RiverClan's territory, where she'd never be able to see them again. Mapleshade is a cat that never learned how to face the consequences of her actions. She arguably went insane from having her whole life be torn apart from her in a single day. Tbh I'd argue that if she was a tom, more people would be sympathetic towards her.
a woman will murder 3 people, use a dead guy's name to protect her and her kids' reputation, groom a kid into becoming a xenophobic dictator and people will still claim that she's an innocent justified victim. i love her and think she's a very interesting character (with her killing people partially to avenge her kits) but god, half the fandom doesn't read the books and it shows.
Future Luke
Warning: This character is a walking spoiler so PLEASE tread with caution if you haven’t played Professor Layton and the Unwound Future. It’s a game so dear to my heart that everyone should play. With that out of the way… I love him and I get it. I do. He was one of the first fictional crushes I remember having way back in the day and even though that’s way long past, I still think he’s neat as a character as is the role he plays in the story. Yes his backstory is tragic (Bill Hawks go to hell challenge). Yes it makes him sympathetic in a lot of ways. Yes it would be so nice to see more canon content with him someday, maybe set far after the events of the game, where he gets some kind of true redemption arc and makes good on his word to atone for his wrongdoings. But. He is antagonistic in a looot of ways that people brush over because half his fandom likes to woobify him (the other half fully acknowledging that he’s awful and embracing it). He objectively still kidnapped, trapped, and gaslit dozens if not hundreds of people. The Mobile Fortress incident, an act of national terrorism, easily could have a death toll in the thousands. Even if getting revenge on Bill specifically was justified, ruining the lives of innocents in a disaster, not too much unlike the very one that killed his parents and led him down the path of destruction, was not. He deserves whatever consequences he gets and then some tbh. As an aside, while this thankfully isn’t as common as it was in the early 2010s, people shipping him with Flora leaves such a bad taste in my mouth. They have an 8-9 year age gap, with Flora being a minor (her age is never explicitly confirmed but per reasonable assumption, she can’t be above 15 *at most*), which seems to get conveniently forgotten about - not cool!! Their only significant interaction in the game is him kidnapping her after the big reveal, which while not worse in canon context than anything else he does, is gross to frame in any kind of shipping light.

DBD & VnC
When I watched the Dead Boy Detectives with its main 4 characters and their dynamics, I KNEW it reminded me of something. Thanks to Tumblr dashboard, I remembered!
Vanitas no Carte!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Same gender and sexuality fuckery, supernatural mysteries (ghosts vs. vampires tho), ambiguous complex relationship and nuanced psychology. Please don't watch the anime tho, it's bad, read the manga it's absolutely worth it.
I'LL ELABORATE (character parallels under the read more)
Tumblr media
Edwin Payne & "Vanitas" Blue colour scheme
Ok let's be honest they would probably hate each other's guts but they really do have similarities.
The OG detective, the brains Vanitas calls himself a doctor but he solves mysteries first so shush
Gets bitches (unfortunately, like @ mapleleafsunset correctly noticed)
Went through severe physical torture and has Trauma (tm)
Magic user
Books
"What is love" (a.k.a. can be very dense and panic upon the realization)
Has a side that's considered traditionally feminine
Tsundere
Ego the size of a planet (at least Purple is sure of it)
Soulmates with Reddish
Deep personal relationship with Pink (deep friendship in Edwin and Niko's case and whatever Vanitas has going on with Jeanne because it's supposed to be romance but it's queer in the queerest way possible) vanijeanne haters dni
Tumblr media
Charles Rawland & Noé Archviste Reddish colour scheme purplish magenta in Noe's case but I don't take criticism
Would totally get along and be an unstoppable force.
The brawn
Tan king
Golden retriever energy
ADHD (totally a headcanon of mine, although I'm 100% sure Noé has it)
Anger and violence issues (is working on it)
THE Sunshine
Loyal to no end (especially to the blue colour coded character)
Complicated relationship with father (figure)
"What is romantic love" (is genuinely confused)
Has complicated (sort of) romantic-ish relationship with Purple (Tell me what Charles has with Crystal? A fling? An infatuation? General attraction for so many reasons? Fell in love and came out of it as friends? All of the above and then some? I think they're inventing queer-romantic relationship as they go. And Noé certainly loves Domi with his whole heart but as a friend? Or not???? I'm so confused) I'm sure Noé's gay tho
Barely interacts with Pink but they're alike and are totally adorable and everyone'd like to see more of them together
Tumblr media
Crystal Palace Surname-von Hoverkraft & Dominique de Sade Purple colour scheme (+yellow for Domi)
Their gossip potential really frightens me
The Bitch TM (affectionately)
Sort of a double personality (used to be VERY different until a certain point in the past)
Bisexual queen ok Domi may be a comphet lesbian we're yet to see this
Neglectful family (Domi has it better but only slightly)
Rich af
Has complicated (sort of) romantic-ish relationship with Reddish (Is Crystal in love? Is it just a general attraction? We'll see I hope. Domi is sure she's in love with Noé buuuut are we sure this isn't comphet and trauma bonding? I'm not sure. Hell if I'm sure about ANYTHING or ANYONE in ANY of these canons. Delish)
Tender and close relationship with Pink (We all remember Crystal's first reaction shut up sprites and Domi told she loves Jeanne ^_^)
Used to stare daggers at each other with Blue but eventually bonded over Reddish bitch drama queens who are too alike to get along right away (affectionate)
Tumblr media
Niko Sasaki & Jeanne Pink colour scheme (+ yellow and red for Jeanne)
I'm afraid to think what Niko might teach Jeanne about love. They would have been A MENACE but a totally adorable one and everyone would just succumb to them no questions asked.
White hair
Charmes everyone the very instant they see her
THE Sunshine [2]
May play a very interesting and influential part in future (it's a mystery so far but is sort of foreshadowed)
SO CUTE sorry I had to
Has trauma related to a parent(s) loss
Comes off as naive but is actually more than meets the eye
Deep personal relationship with Blue (see above)
Tender and close relationship with Purple (do I have to say anything, and Jeanne said she loves Domi :3)
We almost never see them together with Reddish because the authors know we won't bear such an intense radiance and warmth :3
The way ALL the relationships are so fucking queer to the ground and complicated is the best part. Whoever calls Vnc "a queerbait" are probably the same type of people who call DBD the same. VnC also has A LOT of gender confusion and mixture, as an enby - 10/10 do recommend.
Also it's hilarious how both sources have two sets of characters where each male and female character has a "twin" counterpart and a "different" one, so it's really fun to mix and match the relationship.
Bonus: Tell me Jenny isn't similar with Olivier, I dare you. Even their weapons of choice are a meat cleaver vs. a chainsaw and they're both MESSY about it. Jenny needs a golden retriever girlfriend so bad.

A hero of the bloody horn, I love that so much for Uno. I hope fans who were big mad about his death are satisfied.
It is morning, and my thoughts may be disjointed, but ahh, I really loved the finale and I wanna watch it all again because I'm sure I missed stuff because I was too busy flailing.
Obviously, as a Mat fangirl, I loved him in this episode. We got to see him be clever! He had his moment, the desperation to blow the horn, and then we find out he is a hero of the horn, I love that for him! "Dovie'andi se tovya sagain" HE SAID THE THING ahhhhhhh omg it was beautiful.
And then he fucked up, but it was fated and also not his fault and it delivers great angsty moments for us and a meet-cute for Rand and Elayne so we can't be mad.
Also, I don't know if it's their intent, but I do hope they're sort of setting us up to have Padain Fain be Mat's biggest antagonist aside from the Forsaken, like Dain/whitecloaks will be Perrin's. It would make their eventual confrontation at TLB make more sense if, like, they've been cat and mousing each other across the continent for a while there. Especially with that dagger connection.
Also, is Mat going to lose the dagger again? Or will it be entrusted to Aes Sedai and Fain nicks it again, idk. I do absolutely love baby's first ashandarei, but I hope we'll still get the upgraded one from Rhuidean (and everything else he gets there).
Poor Egwene getting her braid cut! That was an unexpected bit of violence, but I also love that she still had to be threatened into doing what Renna commanded. And how she went from being marginally okay with wreaking violence on whitecloaks to horrified at civilians caught in the crossfire and literally spitting the dummy. And I know the books emphasize like, be the bigger person Ewgene and let Renna (& Seta) face the justice of being discovered by their fellows, but yeah that scene was incredibly satisfying anyway.
It does make me wonder for future storylines, having two of the three sul'dam that were used getting killed off, will we still get Bethamin, or will that be cut, idk. Maybe they will cut Edesina, Joline and Teslyn to just one of them.
Also, uhhh, Nynaeve in sul'damn get up and being full of wrath awoke things in me that has me feeling less straight than I thought I was. Um. (r.i.p. tumblr user mogehdien I can only imagine how much you're not coping with that plus the epilogue)
I didn't even catch about Lanfear blasting Moiraine through a doorway until others noted it, but that was a beautiful touch.
I very much liked how the beginning of the season talked about how separated they're weakened, together they form a shield wall, and how true that showed in the final confrontation.
Rand vs. Turak had me cackling. Boy was like, we ain't got no time for that and shot him.
Are we for sure that Suroth is dead? I saw bodies hitting the water but there's always the possibility someone could retrieve her and she was not as dead as we thought...
Also, Moghedien, oh she looks so fun. I love her already.
I wonder if her warning Lanfear off Rand will inspire a certain disguise? Hiding not only from him but them while trying to keep an eye on things.

FNAF MOVIE SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT DONT READ IF YOU HAVENT SEEN IT YET I MEAN IT!!!!!!!
my thoughts on the movie UwU
ok first of i LOVED what they did with mike's character???? its different from the games canon (or different from the most popular theories??? i can never remember what is actually canon and whats accepted fanon) but its sooooo interesting. making him the brother of one of the victims was SO unexpected but it worked really really well. tho going into the movie with preconceived notions ab the story fucked me up somewhat bc i took so long to accept he wasnt michael afton 😣 tho i feel the movie mightve been setting fans up that way lol
on that note his brother confused me somewhat? cuz he was one of the missing children but he wasnt one of the 5 spirits was he??? maybe he was and i just didnt notice KSBSKDBSKD ill look out for it on my second watch
WILLIAM. MOTHER FUCKING AFTON. OH MY GODDDDDDD THAT WAS FUCKING INSANE and honestly seeing everyones reaction to it was SO cool. when springtrap appeared everyone screamed and clapped. when he started dying everyone screamed and clapped even louder. and when he said "I ALWAYS COME BACK" everyone LOST THEIR FUCKING MIND SCREAMING CRYING YELLING CLAPPING WHOOPING IT WAS SO FUCKING GOOD
AND THE VANESSA REVEAL????? i think thats completely different from game vanessa lore mostly bc william aftons daughter in the game was elizabeth/baby and shes fucking dead but idk vanessa lore so who knows. all i know is that it WORKED MAN i did NOT see that coming but i HONESTLY REALLY LIKED IT AND AGAIN EVERYONE IN THE THEATER LOST THEIR MINDS WE WERE ALL LIKE "WHAT?????" (edit: i saw an youtuber point out that this cant be the same vanessa from sb bc this is set in like the 90s and sb's in the future. maybe this is something like, they put two vanessas so we know that sometimes different characters just have the same name and dont get too hang up on mike smith vs michael afton lol)
i also like how they did williams character. i usually dont like purely evil 2d villains but i feel that fits afton way more than "sad scientist goes insane cuz he lost his kid oh no :(". like it just fits fnaf!!!!!!!
another thing that was completely different from the game was the animatronics. like in the game theyre "like animals" but in the movie they all seemed very, aware??? msking decisions? they def had a mind and it was cheesy sure but i also liked it. i just loved this movie. and everything about it. i went into it knowing it was absolutely not going to be 1:1 with the game so i dont mind im just so happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IT IMMEDIATELY STARTING WITH A JOKE ON DREAM THEORY LMFAOOOOOOOO. "SOME PEOPLE BELIEVE IT"
MATPAT? MOTHERFUCKING MATPAT ARE YOU KIDDING ME
THE EASTER EGGS!!! THE REFERENCES!!!!!! THERE WERE SO MANY AND THEY MADE ME WANT TO SCREAM AND CRY EVERY TIME OH MY GOD
im not gonna remember all of them but I WANT THE MIDNIGHT MOTORIST HOODIE
max did NOT deserve to die that upset me. she was fine!!!!!!!
also the violence wasnt anything super crazy but it was def more than i expected. also they swore
THE ANIMATRONICS ARE SO FUCKING COOL DUDE OH MY GOD I CANT BELIEVE THEYRE REAL
also golden freddy wasnt a girl in the movie. F cassidy
i like mikes character sooooo much ive said so before and im saying it again. vanessa too
THE SONG THE FUCKING SONG THE LIVING TOMBSTONE PLAYING IN THE FUCKINF CREDITS OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD I CANT BELIEVE IT OH MY GOD DUDE DUDE DUDE DUDE DUDE
this one is only for the brazilians in here but i actually liked the dub? this sentiment might change after i watch the og version but it wasnt terrible. williams voice was 10/10
balloon boy was funny every single time. fuck this bitch. also the cupcake
THE ITS MEEEEEEEEEEE i wish they did more its mes BUT I SAW THAT!!!
the scene were mike calls abby to the kitchen so they could 'talk' and the aunt was there.... actually broke my heart how dare you
i missed phone guy 😭
OH IM PRETTY SURE I SAW THE FAKE DOG ANIMATRONIC PEOPLE THOUGHT EXISTED YEARS AGO???? I DONT REMEMBER HIS NAME BUT I THINK HE WAS THERE IN THE LIKE STORAGE PLACE i might be crazy tho dont quote me
i thought i wouldnt like it but i love how expressive freddy is its so funny. chica bonnie n foxy too but him especially
ok i those were all my immediate thoughts!!! i wrote this a few hours ago when id JUST gotten back from the theater and now im gonna go watch it again so bye <3

orwellian's a great word for it actually. "appropriate raiments will be provided" is the most disturbing thing in the whole series and i stand by that. this interpretation of heaven has definitely coloured my reading of the show especially how i see the fall so it's cool to see someone who agrees!
hard agree that pure coercion would be a total cop out. it's just that he does seem nervous so i do think he's aware of a certain degree of potential danger. i initially thought the metatron must have let slip an implication somewhere but i much prefer your idea that he suspected something. and well. i've been saying basically since season 2 came out that accepting the offer doesn't equal having completely fallen for it. will come back to that in my thoughts on the whole mess that was that domestic.
the blanket permission to come scream at you is greatly appreciated and i'll definitely make use of it; i love this kind of media dissection and speculation. 🦭
(p.s. i did indeed end up making the chekov's list since my ocd never can leave well enough alone lol. brace yourself: incoming!)
hihi again, 🦭 anon!!!✨
yes!!! in the context of 1984, especially, that line really is ominous; obviously there is a fine line between a corporate uniform and dictated dress, especially as the only scene where we see all of the angels look the same (iirc) is the waiting platoon in s1. otherwise, all of the angels do have individual dress/style (but similar enough to show belonging), even in the job scene, even if certain elements of their designs indicate shared rank or moral alignment... but the implication of subjugation made by clothes being specifically chosen for the prospective mind-wiped gabriel is... interesting.
and of course - aziraphale's outfit is very different to that of the other angels, in it being actual human clothing, and showing unashamed signs of wear and comfort. i remarked in a post that in job especially, his jobes (job robes) are very similar in aesthetic to that of michael and gabriel compared to say muriel's. could be that it's the appropriate dress of a principality rank, but im not... wholly convinced.
anyway, let's get on with your list!!! a herculean effort, truly!!! hope you don't mind, but a) ive copied and pasted it under the cut, because b) id love to use it as a checklist for myself (and of course if anyone else does!) re: things ive talked about, or indeed things that i have Thoughts on... or even things that i haven't thought to talk about and will probably look into doing so in the future!!!✨✨
episode 1:
starting with the big one there's the pre-fall sequence. the fall itself. talked a lot about these two things/the whole theme in general, found under the #the fall/the great war spec tag
maggie's spelling under the #we need to talk about maggie theory tag - babygirl is an angel, im convinced of it
"what's the point of it all" i mean, kinda talked about this in connection with stuff under the #god is dead theory tag, and in a couple of different asks; mainly that god doesn't give two hoots about any of it, and just wanted to give everyone and everything free will - and they have to work out the consequences for themselves (whilst she throws in a few chaotic sprinkles to keep things interesting)
shax's insider information about heaven ive definitely not discussed shax at all really, and i definitely have a few things id like to work out... main one being, for me, how she went from wondering where aziraphale was in ep3, to suddenly knowing how to exactly triangulate his position in ep4 finally talked about her in the #shax meta tag!!!
the demons being on half rations didn't really think to look at this!!! that could be interesting, especially with the short-staffed comment... someone did put to me that bc the apocalypse failed, everyone on earth continues dying and adding to the population of the Damned, so the work vs demon ration is steadily getting outweighed... but hm, could be something more than that!
"something terrible" because are we sure we're sure that that was about the stuff we've already seen you know, i wondered this too after ep6!!! it was a very interesting choice of words for me, bc whilst yes gabriel's fate was looking pretty shit, the line was almost a bit... well, over-announced? they kept repeating it? like, gabriel said he had to bring the box to aziraphale/the bookshop otherwise something terrible would happen... but why specifically the shop? is it just because aziraphale is the only angel/sanctuary on earth? is it because he was drawn to an angel that's also fallen for a demon? is it because aziraphale is simply kind? i don't trust that it's any of these explanations at all (or maybe all of them and another besides)... and tbh i think god has something to do with it. another speculation for the to-do list!!!
the book of life this one ive remarked on a fair bit under the #book of life theory tag, but it's fairly disjointed from other bits and pieces - tbh i probably need to do a long post at some point as to where all my theories etc join up... bc for the moment all of them are full of loopholes
michael and uriel's power politics oooooh i literally don't have a single scooby on this... id have to think on this a little more
the very highlighted matchbox quote this one ive had sat in the drafts for ages bc i can't quite parse it out - where does leviathan come into it? is it a reference to crowley-as-aziraphale spitting fire during the execution? why would it be on a matchbox of a bloody pub? is it a clue from god? is god linked to jim/gabriel somehow? gahd this one is still giving me a headache kinda? wrote about this - here, no tag for this specifically - and im still not fully satisfied that is the meaning of the matchbox but i think (hope) it might be somewhere near the mark?
1650 i speculated (or, well, dreamt up a hc) as to what this potential flashback could entail in a LWA response somewhere - in any case, give me the boys in cromwellian england and give it to me Now
the 25 lazarii miracle my batshit theory (and yet it makes complete sense to me, i stand by it) is in my #25 lazarii theory tag
episode 2:
heaven and hell working together as a single good cop bad cop system this is similarly stagnating in my drafts at the moment!!! but it's a bit of a mindbender for me bc it means i need to pick apart what everything thinks the job/satan bet was actually about... basically, i think it all comes back to understanding god's will - and all of them (yes, even crowley) have it wrong because imo god is completely amoral and is just the strongest advocate for free will... weirdly, i think the person that had the most right of it was gabriel.
"forces them under an awning together" god i hope this happens in s3... i mean there's no way it won't, right? and so many juicy possibilities (for my money itll be the bandstand, but equally would love, like, the stoop of the bookshop, and then have it mirrored again under like the porch of the south downs cottage) 🥺
gabriel's eyes glowing statements this tbh harks back to what i posted under the #25 lazarii theory tag - definitely something weird going on, and i have a gut feeling the boys accidentally made it even worse lmao
tricking heaven with a sleight of hand this is also going to require a bit more thought!!!
episode 3:
aziraphale's chekhov's diaries see im not sure how important i truly think theyre going to be, but if we go by the prominent influence of the crow road, it definitely has to be a s3 plot device, right? the only thing im scared of is that aziraphale's memory gets wiped, or he goes missing, and the books are key to getting back his memory/finding him... hmmm
crowley's consciousness extending into the bentley i think the crank is certainly important, even if just symbolic of his power - uses it to create nebulae, it survived the s1 explosion, etc. i do think bentley has its own kind of personality, but think it's borne out of proximity, use, and influence of her demon owner... obviously i could be entirely wrong, but i kinda hope it's more that he made her, and her allegiance as a sentient being is with him (and of course aziraphale by extension), mainly bc i want something to look after crowley... but then is it more poetic that the bentley is basically just him, and representative of him finding comfort in himself? idk tbh but she's a bad bitch and i love her
general resurrection themes ive talked a fair bit about the second coming aspect, but not about the resurrection and last judgement so much, so this is one for the list
gabriel's glowing eyes statements part 2 as above (and i realise that you might be talking about what he specifically says, not the general thing itself, 🦭 anon, but in a way what is being said is fairly self-explanatory imo, but why is the heftier question)
shax can sense gabriel in a way the archangels couldn't i personally don't think there's much by way of implication in the method in which she senses him (ie... smell? vs michael's weird sixth sense), but i do think there is something about the fact they can sense him at all... talked about in #25 lazarii spec and the #shax meta tag!!!
"it's always too late" oh god 💀 i had the most batshit theory about this that i don't even want to talk about BUT im with you that it's... an odd line. i love that it potentially references line in the book about crowley's watch being set to hell's time, which is set at "too late", but beyond that... not entirely sure why the line was said or said so... blatantly? feels like something obvious would explain it
rumours that aziraphale and crowley were an item that so far don't seem justified based on what hell knew. rumours that apparently had no major consequences for crowley despite one harmless photo warranting a legion to collect him [screams at 1941 truther sign] yeah this is how it read to me too, 🦭! something definitely happened after that dinner, and im not saying a move was made (and potentially witnessed by a couple of errant nazi zombies) but i think a move was made (and witnessed by a couple of errant nazi zombies) - #1941 spec tag
the literal chekhov's gun in the bookshop this one has flummoxed me, but i did read a speculation about continuing the 1941 flashback today, which was utter genius (and so much better than what i managed to dream up in the above tag), and suggested the derringer will make an appearance in a fight-ish scenario in that scene... which is frankly bloody inspired tbh, and im very much convinced by
the miracle blocker oooooh i don't have a dedicated tag for this but i definitely talked about it in a post under the #sanctuary/bentley theory tag!!! i think it was potentially a chekhov's gun that we didn't see get fired
sleight hand to trick hell probably one to look at in hand with the one above about tricking heaven
the zombies just running around london kinda as i said above tbh, not sure what'll happen to them afterwards but presumably a grisly end being eaten and pooped out by a spider
1941 full stop. we have not seen the last of that night. goddamn right we havent [skips around the 1941 truther sign]
episode 5:
the lack of demons available for the attack pretty much what i said above in ep1 about being short staffed bc the Damned population keeps increasing... maybe? still one to look at in more detail though!!!
"i know. do it anyway" "i know. looking at where the furniture isn't" not necessarily in reference to these quotes specifically, but in the general context - discussed this (and potential crowley memory loss) in the #the fall/the great war spec and #book of life theory tags
"if it happens twice it might seem like an institutional problem" oh. OH. THIRD EYE HAS OPENED. because we know two things, right? gabriel didnt fall/wasnt intended to, so the 'happens twice' isn't realised. and heaven does have an institutional problem, practically embodies the term. so if this is foreshadowing. does aziraphale fall. oh no. Oh No (ive sort of discussed this in #scapegoat theory tag but that was strictly pre-eden context...) this however has actually just made me realise that this is a chekhov's gun literally pointed at aziraphale's head... shitshitshitshitshjthka
mrs cheng's weird look across the street see this is on my list but waaaay down it. think she could be a demon. will work on it at some point edit: talked a little bit about this in the #shax meta tag, but possibly needs a dedicated post, idk
nina and maggie's semi immunity to miracles so the bit where aziraphale can't miracle them? that to me is potentially the same explanation as the miracle blocker post (like it all connects). maggie is more immune than normal to the ball miracle? see #we need to talk about maggie theory tag. as for nina... im still not sure on. idk if she's a demon (which for me is a Thought if we consider that hell are short-staffed; she could be one of Many) but it feels a little on the nose... one for the list edit: talked a little bit about nina in the #shax meta tag, but definitely needs a separate post at some point
shax saying the shop isn't an embassy anymore but the demons still unable to get in i didn't think of it from this angle, but i think my theory still stands - under the #sanctuary/bentley theory tag
nina and maggie's immunity to miracles part 2 oh oops - see above
episode 6:
maggie being able to invite the demons into the shop i think she's an angeeeeeeellllll (see #we need to talk about maggie tag)
the speed at which the portal opens and it's potential as a means of spying my latest galaxy brain moment (i hope) - #sanctuary/bentley theory tag
haloes and the potential consequences of blowing them up this one is in the #halo theory tag
crowley opening the files not quite sure what you mean by this one, 🦭!!! do you mean about his rank? definitely tried parsing this particular headscratcher in the #AWCW spec tag
heaven was trying to restart armageddon in a way that seems awfully unofficial oooooohhh.... haven't looked at it this way, but definitely will be!!! might link in with #god is dead theory stuff, but will need more exploring!!!
saraqael having their own agenda honestly saraqael is my newest bad bitch (gn) and if my #saraqael spec is even halfway true, im going to explode i love them
"i'm the only first order archangel in the universe" *camera cuts to crowley* kinda talk about this in the #AWCW spec tag but since neil cremated the lucifer theory (rip) ive kinda left this aspect alone... tbh i don't think he was as important as he's set out to have been
"i'm the only first order archangel in the universe" full stop. statement's plenty suspicious on its own too. this is....... potentially very intriguing
memory wiping as just a thing heaven does when someone disobeys i need to reconcile #book of life theory with this tbh - like, the focus on memory is so strong in s2 that i strongly believe it has connection to falling... at which point, where does gabriel demotion/mem wipe punishment fit in? and where does saraqael fit in, too?
muriel having the same kind of position gabriel was going to be demoted to vaguely looked at this in #book of life theory tag posts i think, especially in reference to how their potential punishments (in muriel's case) mirror each other
heaven and hell are technically at war now. its not like anyone with authority actually called it off danced around this in the #halo theory tag, in reference to aziraphale declaring this new war, and yet they've been at war for a long time? yes the reflection of it being a cold war but still... interesting to think about especially when framed like this
it's possible to remove your essence and store it elsewhere definitely need to explore the possibilities and implications of this at some point, but the suggestion i made in the #25 lazarii theory post somewhat starts to look at this
hell is understaffed as already mentioned above
the shax furfur alliance not quite sure what to think about this, and whether it necessarily means anything more than it's put across (ie just that they are the danger duo of hell in s3?) idk tbh i just need to look at them both as individual characters a bit more first #shax meta tag!!!
the many strange things that could indicate something going on in the last fifteen minutes god.... just anything in the #feral domestic/final fifteen meta tag tbh
"does anyone ever ask for death" idk whether or not to take this as meaning anything deeper than metatron just idly thinking "hmmm aziraphale could refuse my coffee, refuse a chat... at which point ill probably need to destroy him etc. hey, i wonder if anyone - instead of coffee - has ever actually asked for death? funny name for a coffee shop"... and possibly a double meaning meant by Nina saying 'everything else was taken'?
saraqael being the only one other than crowley who recognises the metatron and their reaction well theres my school of thought that saraqael is potentially closer to metatron that we maybe thought (#saraqael spec tag), but then again - and this exact sentence just reminded me - i think in this particular instance, both saraqael and crowley have just come fresh from watching the trial, so that's why they both remember metatron... which begs the question of what happened between the trial and the final fifteen to make them forget? hmmm
almond syrup imo, #omelas theory
the possible miracle chime ehhhh i know i wrote about this but im still like 50/50 on it... but it fits my theory (in the #feral domestic/final fifteen tag) so im rolling with it - i think there might be a chime and i think it might be a failed miracle to change the coffee
the metatron and crowley seeming to have some kind of history lmao anything in #metatron spec or indeed #the fall/the great war spec tags tbh
aziraphale's peculiar mannerisms im getting so lazy with these responses now 🦭 anon im so sorry, but again recently speculated in the #feral domestic/final fifteen meta tag
the way the conversation between aziraphale and the metatron is only reported and very strangely transitioned in and out of as above
the nothing to see here shooting of the kiss this one...
i know ng said it was a continuity error but. the time skip on the clocks ...and this one ive looked at in the #time-stop theory tag, and im the same - not trusting continuity error on this... not just yet
the something's up vibes of metatron. the general scheming and manipulativeness. the framing as the wizard of oz. the colour scheme and the dice on his tie. the sigh of relief in the elevator lol #metatron spec
the credits scene i haven't really gone into this in any detail and tbh idk if it needs it - i think it's pretty reflective of some stuff ive talked about in the #aziraphale meta and the #feral domestic/final fifteen meta tags
plus special mention: not technically in the episode but the distinctly ominous madonna/crucifixion promo photos aaaaaaaand this one is in the #mary/pieta spec tag
again 🦭 anon im really sorry it got a little lazy towards the end!!! but im very, very grateful that you put this all in a list, because ive definitely got some stuff in mind that id like to parse out!!! and as ever - more than happy to scream about things so pop on back if you feel the need to scream with me!!!✨

I've seen many "if you could change Jason's story, how would you change it." post from many people and i always like your takes about Jason so i was wondering what your version would be like
i wouldn’t change it, at least not in any major way, because what i like about jason is the turned-wrong story and his anger as red hood. i have no interest in robin!jason or jason never died aus because his death and resurrection are the most entertaining part of the character to me. i would change the way it is told, the classicism in how his story was treated and the ‘jason was an angry robin’ narrative you see in current canon because it’s bullshit and the tragedy of his story works only if he was a normal and kind child who was robbed of his chance of a happy future
i would keep pretty much all of his backstory, parents who try their best to raise and love him but fall prey to their poverty, a father falling into crime to help bring money and a mother falling into addiction and struggling with it and taking care of the family and the both of them eventually dying because of that. i’d keep jason living in the streets of gotham, him jacking the batmobile’s wheels, helping bruce with a robbery, being taken into the manor, and eventually becoming robin. he would keep the good relationships with everyone there, dick included, do well in school and live an as normal and happy life as possible.
i know jason’s death was controversial at the time but i’d keep that too, and how it went down, him feeling restless over the months preceding it, with all the findings he does about his family as well as struggling with his sense of justice and what they do with the gotham justice system as batman and robin (thinking about the garzonas case and gloria stanson and how he sees the victims before a legal system that won’t do enough, will never do enough, because imo that ties nicely into the current views he has on justice and the ethics of vigilantism and crime-fighting which are an extreme version of an answer of those questions he had as robin), trying to find his mother, saving her, being tricked, all that is good.
i’d keep the lost days and utrh red hood characterization because i think it’s good, i like jason’s hypocrisy and over competence and i like how his goal blinds him and makes him obsessive, i like how ruthless he is and the fact that he’s an unlikable asshole who messes with people he cares about. i like this take on crime fighting and vigilantism and i think you can do many interesting things with it in a story, especially put in contrast with how heroes traditionally act, the whole ‘ill control crime because you can’t stop it, that’s the right way’
the only major change i’d bring is in utrh and specifically the ending because i don’t think bruce would do that, i don’t think he’d cut his son’s throat over the joker. and as much as i’d love to have bruce kill the joker and see the fallout of that, mainly how pointless it all is and how it doesn’t solve any of jason conundrum and his anger and grief and would instead leave everyone dissatisfied (your dad did this to appease you only because you asked him to, is it truly genuine? can you take this as proof enough of his love if you pushed him to? vs. bruce struggling with having taken a life and how this jason isn’t the son he used to know), as much as i’d want to see that i ultimately don’t think bruce would do it and more importantly i don’t want him to because batman is the no kill rule and the no gun rule, those are fundamental to his character
i do like the movie ending more because of this: bruce turns around and in the same breath turns a blind eye to whatever will happen and is ready to let jason do it, to let him kill the joker which is a good compromise to the ultimatum he put on the table and also doesn’t solve anything because yeah, the joker is dead, great, but a/ bruce didn’t do the one thing jason thought would prove his love for him, so it’s disappointing to him and still make him feel like it wasn’t enough, that he's not loved enough and shows him he'll never get what he wants from bruce and b/ bruce will never get his son back because this killing of the joker in front of him would burns any bridges between them and solidifies the death of his son to him, thus sticking them further in this looping spiral of grief for people who are very much alive but dead to them, people they used to know and still see when looking at each other even if they don’t exist anymore and will never be real again
so jason got what he wanted and still everyone involved has lost and dealing with that aftermath for everyone involved will be fun, bruce struggling to accept this new jason and even treating him as a villain for lack of a better idea about how to deal with this situation and jason growing increasingly pissed with bruce and still doing things like the ollie and mia attack or going to mess in bludhaven with dick, except its not from a place of ‘see me and accept me’ but ‘see me and suffer from witnessing who i am’ towards bruce
the other change i’d have is progressively making him less focused on bruce and more on gotham after the confrontation. i think the daddy issues are important for his comeback, it’s why he does this in the first place, but after the terrible revelation that he has lost his father for good and he’ll never get him back and the subsequent acting out and making him suffer for it because man, that frontal lobe was not finished developing, i want jason to distance himself from the batfam as an entity and focus more on gotham and being the other side of bruce’s coin. he has as many rights to fight for the city as bruce and it would be interesting to see them clash over being in the same city given their different backgrounds and views on justice. i do want to see his unhealthy attachment to the city on pages and how it influences him, how he can never stay away for long and will never leave it. and there’s the whole ‘hate is the other side of love’ and jason growing neutral about bruce and the batfam, having cordial work relationships where no one tries to reach out anymore would hurt even more than the desperate attempts at gaining attention and love
as for what comes after that, i’ve got this post and i still stand by this for what i want for jason as a character in current comics, i think he works better cut off from the batfam as a unit and acting as an antagonist/a character to put in opposition to heroes like dick, cass or steph because of his ethics/morals/views on justice, and yes, the kill rule but not only, also things like working with a team/other. red hood works are a character foil and if jason were to evolve from that role, i want him to shed the red hood moniker and really make it clear he’s moving past that role for something new (for what i have no idea, i suck at coming up with superheroes alias, but something different, something he made for himself instead of taking from someone else)

Todays rip: 16/03/2024
RipStarter
Season 3 No Album Release (Read More) Daniel's Kruis (Main Theme) - Indie Pogo
Ripped by - ̗̀Dead Line ̖́- (@deadlinesmb)
youtube
Requested by fezaki! (Request Form)
For all the faux-deep analysis I do on here, for all the intricate readings into rips to find meaning that many times ABSOLUTELY wasn't there (Fun trivia: I learned recently that Joke-Explainer™ 7000 Fusion Collab starting with a song from Pokémon RSE was not meant to be a reference, it was complete coincidence), for all the musings on lore and theming and emotional highs...it's just as nice to cover rips that are pure, simple fun. Especially when they're from Dead Line in particular! The ripper is no stranger to being featured on here, and the running theme in rips like Medley Rush #7, vs SAYU (Based Version), and indeed also RipStarter, is that he's got a real knack for wearing his heart on his sleeve in a way that can be properly felt in the rips.
With this affection in mind, it should come as no surprise that both Sonic Rush and No Straight Roads are among Dead Line's favorite games (not to mention the copious amounts of Super Monkey Ball rips they've made that I'm yet to cover, with the game being their all-time favorite!). Yet Indie Pogo, the game featured today is a bit of a different case - Dead Line himself directly contributed to the game's development! I'm unfortunately unaware if them joining the development team happened before or after RipStarter released, but be it retroactively or not, that extra bit of involvement makes the rip feel all the more sweet. It's a love letter to a project Dead Line felt even more attached to than most, one they went above and beyond to celebrate when, comparatively, it still wasn't really much of a smash hit success in terms of sales. As a mixless rip of the main theme, RipStarter aims to be the DEFINITIVE Indie Pogo rip - something that I absolutely believe it achieves.
I mean, there's things to gush about right as things begin. The melodyswap to The Noble Haltmann is fantastic on its own, but paired with the custom-made visuals of Susie Haltmann bouncing as if she were a character in the game herself, it allows the rip to almost feel as if this is how the SiIvaGunner channel itself would be represented in IndiePogo. All topped off with the use of Dead Line's dearly beloved Sonic Rush samples, a trademark immediately reminding us of who's behind the rip. And like, it's honestly fun around to just watch Susie bounce around to that edit alone! Rip visuals don't need to be as absolutely out-of-this-world as ULTRA S+G to enhance a rip, and the good vibes that RipStarter already has are just amplified by the good time Susie and friends are having. And friends? Yes! Because after just a minute or so, Soulja Boy and PSY one by one join in on the rip, expanding it into both a melody swap and a mashup. Both Soulja and PSY are some of the most popular mashup sources to use for a reason - its incredibly difficult to make them sound bad - and their contributions here only add to the fun vibe the rip already has whilst bringing very fun animations in tow.
Truth be told, much like many of Dead Line's favorite games, I have no real connection to Indie Pogo. Yet the guy's affection and care for the game is too sincere to not understand - the good vibes of RipStarter transcends needing to care about the indie game its from to work as an effective good time. It warms my heart to see Dead Line continue to push their interests with full force like this even as recently as Season 7, and I can't wait to get to learn about more incredibly cool games in the future because of that initiative.

Lina... Update me on your thoughts of t2 Akio x Ichiro, Aimi x Akane, and Kei x Daisuke? :D
Tumblr media
just this HDJJSJKDKKSKS
but okay okay more thoughts under the cut <3
the mental image of akio and ichiro discussing their crimes is still so funny to me. ichiro tells akio the truth about his crime and akio realizes that ichiro's motive was actually a LOT more sympathetic and he's like ". oh no. oh NO" and ichiro is like "so uh. what about your crime" and akio is like "why should i tell you. get out" (bonus if akio was the one who suggested talking about their crimes)
but also. the implications that both akio and ichiro didn't completely hate their victims and actually liked them in some way. sobs... ("why akio calls chise by his first name" well WHY do you think he calls him that)
t2 akio and t2 ichiro bonding over their pain. sobs again
would love to know how ichiro would've reacted to akio's suicide attempt especially considering that something like that is just.. not what you would expect from someone like akio? bro really got rejected by his crush and went "okay. guess i'll die" /lh i wonder what would ichiro think about riku too?
something about ichiro seeing his victim vs akio seeing his victim is so. like. yes this is more t3 but can we talk about how ichiro sees his victim as someone who cries without his attention and immediately smiles again when ichiro actually does pay attention to him. can we talk about how akio sees chise as someone who would try to get his revenge and kill him (though it wasn't actually a ghost of chise, but rather akio hallucinating and hurting himself in the process) and sees him in his t2 mv as someone who just silently watches his execution. an implication of ichiro possibly being a good older brother. an implication of akio actually feeling guilty and thinking that chise would be mad at him. can we
HHHHHHH I WOULD LOVE TO TALK ABOUT T3 AIMI X AKANE BUT. GOTTA KEEP THINGS SECRET FOR NOW. but it's fascinating to me because it's like.. aimi would stop talking to most prisoners but she would still continue talking to akane. she knows that her brother probably wouldn't like akane that much but he's no longer here, so who cares, right? oh, but akane better still be careful around her. one wrong word and aimi will stare at her and go "ahaha, come on, akane-chan, friends don't talk like that <3"
if aimi ever learned about akane's crime, she would be very understanding and she would actually admire her a lot and say that her father got what he deserved. and then she would go "haha, so our crimes are actually very similar!^^" it's okay, akane, just continue thinking that she's talking about her classmates. her relationship with her brother was so healthy and normal, trust her.
it also breaks me to think about how akane's case is more "obvious", like you can clearly tell what kind of person her father was, it's hard not to sympathize with her and all, meanwhile aimi's case is much harder to understand. she mentioned her brother in her first interrogation and she said that she likes spending time with him. she claims to have a good relationship with her family. it seems like her classmates were her only problem. and then she casually mentions that her brother's dead and implies that she killed him. and then she calls him a freak during her second interrogation and says he wouldn't let her live a normal life. girl do you wanna talk about it
also akane having really bad problems with money and aimi secretly being a rich girl and both of them still being bullied, just for different reasons. i wish i could say "if only they have met each other before milgram" but honestly.. i don't think akane would've liked the person aimi was before milgram. there really was a reason why her classmates hated her so much (to be honest, they were more.. afraid of her, actually).
something about aimi still acting so nice to akane while hiding the truth about her past and her plans for the future is so. HHHHHH. like yes, she will go "akane-chan, do you want to hang out? :D" or "akane-chan, thank you so much for helping me with akio-kun!". yes, she also hates almost all prisoners now. yes, she's planning to do something to them. just don't worry about it, okay, akane?^^
imagine t2 kei and t2 daisuke talking about their crushes before milgram. kei listens to daisuke and then he's like "woah ryuto sounds really cool! now check this out" and shows him a photo of ruka (don't ask why he has one) all beaten up and covered in blood. what would daisuke's reaction be. what would daisuke's reaction to kei and ruka's whole relationship be actually. imagine you're t2 daisuke and you have to listen to kei talking about how his bf likes to think he's a walking corpse.
hold on i have to put the image of daisuke seeing the way kei is treated by shun and eiko and still walking away and kei looking at him and trying to ask him for help or get his attention (but like "oh daisuke hi!! long time no see!! i know we've seen each other like ten minutes ago, but- hey! hey come on buddy, i'm talking to you! hey that's really rude!") but failing into your head real quick
this probably wouldn't be possible but them watching each other's mvs is still such an interesting concept to me. though it's also really funny to me because daisuke would probably be. at least a little bit surprised to see kei like that, meanwhile kei would be like "wow that was cool :0". that's it. that's the only reaction you're getting from him daisuke.
something about the way daisuke and kei think about their jobs is so interesting to me. if i'm not wrong and my memory is not being weird, daisuke was seen kind of as a softie, right? and i wouldn't say that he was like. a huge fan of his job. meanwhile kei was both good as a "normal" photographer and whatever he was doing for his dad's friend and he liked doing both things as well. (fun fact: even kei's boss thought he's weird, since his boss wasn't really that sadistic and mostly did it for the money)
this is mostly about t1 daisuke and t1 kei but i still think it's funny how if daisuke asked if kei wants to smoke with him, kei would say yes instantly but he also would look like he's NOT having a good time throughout the whole thing and would also look like he doesn't even know what he's doing. and he would also go "ahaha oh i'm just. more into vaping haha" while thinking "I HATE BOTH OF THESE THINGS". oh btw kei also has an alcohol-related trauma. never let him interact with noa please

Regret Vs Remorse
“While regret and remorse both involve feelings of disappointment in one's actions, they diverge in key areas. Regret focuses more on personal loss or missed opportunities, while remorse involves acknowledging harm done to others.”
Source: https://www.grouporttherapy.com/blog/regret-vs-remorse
“What’s the difference between regret and remorse? Regret has to do with wishing you hadn’t taken a particular action. You may regret an action because it hurt someone else, but you may also regret it because it hurt you, it cost you something emotionally or financially, or led to a punishment or undesirable result. Regret can lead a person to feel sorrow, grief, hurt, and anger—but these can be for the pain he or she feels for the self, not necessarily for the other person who was hurt by the behavior. . . Remorse involves admitting one’s own mistakes and taking responsibility for one's actions. It creates a sense of guilt and sorrow for hurting someone else and leads to confession and true apology. It also moves the remorseful person to avoid doing the hurtful action again. Regret leads a person to avoid punishment in the future, while remorse leads to avoiding hurtful actions towards others in the future.”
Source: https://www.psychologytoday.com/intl/blog/stop-caretaking-the-borderline-or-narcissist/201507/regret-vs-remorse
“The main difference between remorse and regret is that remorse indicates a sense of responsibility for a situation that has gone wrong, whereas we can regret things beyond our control. . . It’s not possible to feel remorse without feeling guilty, whereas we can regret something without feeling guilty. . . When we feel remorse, we accept that something happened because of our fault, but in regret, we don’t necessarily have to accept our fault.”
Source: https://pediaa.com/what-is-the-difference-between-remorse-and-regret/
“Regret is what we feel when we realize that we’ve hurt ourselves—damaged our careers, tarnished our reputations, limited our options. Regret is not remorse, which is what we feel when we’ve hurt others.”
Source: https://mbird.com/psychology/toothpaste-paralysis-and-the-difference-between-regret-and-remorse/
“Put simply, regret is like wishing you’d made a different choice and could take something back. Remorse, on the other hand, is feeling truly sorry for hurting someone with your actions. Regret is about your decisions, and remorse is about the impact on others and owning your part in it.”
Source: https://www.soberish.co/regret-vs-remorse/
Meanwhile Sebastian in the Undercroft after killing his uncle:
“I did it for her.”—No, you didn’t. You hurt her. You killed her uncle whom she loved. Why haven’t you said “I hurt her so much” instead?
“What? Turn me in? She saw what happened.”—She saw a lot of Inferi and her uncle dead on the ground. Why haven’t you acknowledged that you get why your friends might want to turn you in?
“I never wanted to hurt my uncle. . . I didn’t mean it.”—You definitely did, even if only for a moment. You know that, because you explained that you need to have clear intent to use the Unforgivable Curses. Why haven’t you expressed horror that you must’ve wanted to kill your uncle even for one brief moment?
“I can’t leave now. Anne needs me more than ever.”—It’s you who need her more than ever. You still focus on your pain and loss instead of hers. Why haven’t you acknowledged that she might not want to see you again after what you did?
Up to this point Sebastian isn’t remorseful. That’s why I decided to turn him in.
Ominis after turning Sebastian in:
“It will never be the same without him. Just standing here in the Undercroft without Sebastian feels wrong. . . I just wish things had turned out differently.” He feels sad about what happened. He regrets that Sebastian went too far. But he doesn’t directly regrets turning Sebastian in. And he definitely isn’t remorseful about it.
“Unfortunately, his anger only grew—towards goblins and Dark wizards.”—Sebastian is still focusing on his own emotions and hatred. Why didn’t he express any regret how things could’ve turned out if he had known about Rookwood? He’s still blaming others and his circumstances for the murder he committed.
“I know we had a bit of a rocky start, but you’ve proven yourself—as a friend. I’m glad you came to Hogwarts.”—Ominis apparently doesn’t regret the main character advising him to turn Sebastian in.
Conversation with Ominis after turning Sebastian in didn’t make me regret it.
Sebastian after not being turned in:
“I can’t blame her. I couldn’t really blame any of you if you gave up on me entirely. You all believed in me. And I let you all down.”—Yes, he regrets what happened. But is that true remorse? He says he would understand if they gave up on him, but we know that if he’s turned in, he grows angry and bitter. So in my opinion he doesn’t really understand it, it’s his emotional reaction in response to not being turned in. He’s trying to smooth things over.
“I realise I can’t undo what’s been done, but I can try every day to make up for it.”—It’s the only statement that indicates remorse. However, it’s very vague. He doesn’t give any specifics. How is he going to make up for it? There’s no promise to never use the Unforgivable Curses again, to never use Dark Magic again, to listen to his friends’ advice—and these are passive propositions. In the light of gravity of his crime he should also come up with more active resolutions. How is he really going to make up for it? How is he going to take responsibility for his actions? He doesn’t say.
That’s why I’m not convinced that Sebastian is truly remorseful.

meet inquisitor allaros lavellan! :)
there are some facts about him under the cut.
★ Allaros is a Dalish elf, but he was taken from an alienage in Orlais at an early age. ★ a big boy!! just like Sera, he’s taller than elves usually are and his build is closer to humans. ★ a knight enchanter. ★ Allaros was raised as a future keeper and would be crying screaming throwing up if he had to work under anyone’s command. ★ due to that he’s very self-conscious about his public appearance as a perfect leader without any weakness, never lacking confidence or will to lead people. ★ so- steadily declining mental health, huh? ★ a bitter miserable fuсker. very pessimistic. ★ well, y’know, this just happens when your life is a trope Homeland vs. Home, but you belong to neither. ★ would never be happy as a politician in Orlais and would’ve never forgiven himself if he chose a less influential life of a Keeper. ★ very good friends with Dorian and Sera, tho both had pretty strained relationships in the beginning. ★ Dorian is also involved in some sort of fwb with Allaros and Bull. ★ listening to Josie ranting for hours on end. ★ Solas as a mentor figure. Allaros wants to drain all the knowledge from this baldussy. Solas teaches him more advanced Elven. ★ immensely in love with Bull. considers himself the luckiest man but is afraid to never be up to par. ★ Allaros escalates, Bull de-escalates. ★ hot-headed and quick-tempered. throws nasty hissy fits when no one sees. ★ and in this prideful fierce elf who wants change Solas sees himself. ★ all bitchy and arrogant when it comes to his magic abilities. ★ especially when someone doubts that he’s the most dangerous person in a room. ★ can you tell Allaros is a pyromaniac fire mage. ★ Allaros is a tattoo master in the modern au. ★ also, a metalhead and a punk together with Sera. ★ prone to substance abuse. ★ looks intimidating and is intimidating. ★ all Allaros’ life seems to be leading to the moment when he becomes a leader. he was taught how to make decisions for a group and deal with their consequences. +1 point to leadership. ★ the tombstone in the ade says “powerlessness”. ★ grew up without an opportunity to stand up for himself safely. is overcompensating now. ★ bitсh is as defensive and tense as a strung bow. ★ will argue with anyone about anything. fuсking medieval sjw. ★ folks are annoyed at first. Allaros grows on some of them when they see that he’s ready to speak out about anything he disagrees with and stands up for them as well. ★ a good orator and rhetorician due to that. Josie would be proud. +1 point to leadership. ★ but he learns how to tone it down. ★ plus, he just grows tired. ★ knows how to play flute and piano. ★ there was a time when Allaros was separated from his clan, so he had to spend a few of teenage years being a city elf. he’s seen some gruesome crаp and very clearly realized what human oppression means. ★ Allaros was able to return to his clan in the year the mage uprising began and shit started hitting the fan. the storage with phylacteries was destroyed along the way as he already was at his breaking point. ★ it’s possible that some part of a circle was damaged as well. it’s ok, though, only the Templars remained there. ★ Allaros led the rest of rebelling mages out and then found them dead because of the leak. went on a killing spree. was captured. the rest you can imagine.
★ you need to tie his knife to a holster when he talks to Cullen for longer than 5 minutes. ★ the temple of Mythal gave Allaros like 100 points of a psychic damage due to all shem bullshit he heard from a crew. ★ he didn’t drink from the Well. neither did Morrigan. Merrill did! what about it? ★ hates the lightning branch of magic. too much things to take into consideration.
★ jumpy as hell. like. as hell. ★ actually arachnophobic. ★ you can’t be adulated if you think all the praise is a lie!
★ there’s a number of things Allaros and Bull have in common. the inner rage that is always there, one that cannot be poured into a battle, originated from the powerlessness to prevent something from happening, whether it’s oppression or violence. ★ the ability to help others but not themselves. ★ there’s a role and a duty, and anything besides is taught to be unimortant. ★ the faith one has to have, defined by the heritage a keeper has to pass or life under the qun, and anything behind that doesn’t matter. ★ Allaros asks Bull how did the re-educators helped him. he asks was there an end goal of his stay on Seheron. Allaros doesn’t do that to trap Bull, it is pure curiosity. still, there’s bite to it, and Bull wants to answer honestly. ★ Allaros has got tattoos all over his body in the canon as well as in the modern au. ★ these hella sick tattoos that appear on Bull when they declare each other Kadan? Allaros has made them for Bull. romantic as hell.
★ cis? trans? it’s anyone’s guess. ★ “if not me then who” kinda attitude is what pervades his every decision. this what makes Bull warm up to him at first. also +1 point to leadership. ★ Allaros is afraid that the power will devour him - and there are all reasons to be afraid of that. ★ trade isn’t his first language, half of the time he thinks in Elven. idgaf. ★ Bull teaches him Qunlat, Allaros teaches him Elven. they have small-talks to train each other.
★ Allaros’ path as the Inquisitor is soul-draining. he’s depressed and pushed to his limit in the beginning due to the events in the past. ★ Haven and Skyhold feel lonely. he has little to none people like him. everything’s andrastian through and through. most of his views clash with the views shems have. he’s tensed up most of the time. ★ he surrounds himself with like-minded people. in the end of the day, Leliana is the new Divine, Briala rules Orlais, chevalier shem is her pet, he keeps in touch with Fiona and the hero of Ferelden. ★ he devours greedily all the knowledge that is available to him because for most of his people it isn’t. ★ he’s still depressed but he drags himself by the ears into the future because he has a new duty now, he has an opportunity none of his people have. he has to make their lives better. he’s back on his feet again. ★ can you tell the Trespasser is a train wreck that sends him into an identity crisis. ★ can you tell Jaws of Hakkon just straight up annihilate him. ★ everything he’s working on will be regressed no matter how hard he tries just because he’s an elven mage trying to win in shem’s politics. everything he hoped for when he accepted the title of the Inquisitor is now torn to shreds.
★ but the Inquisition still stands. he needs political influence and something to his name to make lives of elves and mages better, even if in the end of the day it means nothing. ★ in Home vs. Homeland he ends up in the Homeland. he has to work in Orlais. what the fuсk!! he hates this country. ★ but oh well alrighty then. +1 point to leadership.
★ Allaros has got a pretty strong Dalish accent. ★ Allaros’ fighting style is all about speed and little to no break between spells. lots of field control, doesn’t pay much attention to anyone who tries to attack him. pays no attention to fallen companions preferring to carry the battle to the victory on his shoulders. ★ his romance with Bull is about two scarred decent people just trying to help people however they can, y’know?

I'm not a webcomic reader, just looked through it so I have a question: are there any differences between manga Garou and wc Garou when it comes to their features of character and not the plot lines?
So their fundamental core characters are the same, but the real estate allotted to his character + his relationships with others have all expanded, which means so have the circumstances, set-up, and presentation of what happens to his character have all changed to be different from the wc's trajectory too.
The biggest difference is that manga Garou's hero side has been made much more explicitly clear (likely even for his future path) - repeatedly spelled out (handheld) in our faces even, compared to more of the subtlety/mystery/ambiguity of his char's identity in the wc. How far will he go to maintain the ‘monster’ act while denying who he really is? ONE chose not to hide his softer 'antihero' true nature to only be revealed/exposed -to him and us- at the end anymore (as wc readers would already know 'the twist'), but further humanized him along the way, into more of a well-rounded, fully realized character who earns more of the (upgraded) sympathetic 'protagonist' spotlight during his arc. Where manga Garou's allowed to express the full 3-dimensional range of the emotional spectrum. From the cool and badass moments, to the fun and silly (he gets to be a nerd! and a goof!), to the tragic and triumphant, to the genuinely heartwarming and heartbreaking. All 0-100 and back. Compared to his more limited range in the wc, where those same traits were still there, just not as pronounced or explored. (Where now we have far more expanded information on Garou and his past lore/history, compared to even Saitama or Genos. :O And that's saying something.)
ONE has capitalized on his 'gap moe' appeal that Japanese readers love and have always seen as cute/endearing about him. So manga Garou behaves much more obviously/classically tsundere, to full comedic, ironic, and endearing effect. And for physical traits, he gets to keep his facial scar and defining 'wolf hair' in the post-arc, that wc Garou did not.
His relationships with Tareo & Bang have greatly expanded. (He also never interacted with Metal Bat in the wc either.) Wc Tareo used to be a stranger ugly kid who wasn't even named. Wc Garou still went out of his way to save him, but not to the same extent or established context of their friendship in the manga. Wc Tareo's favorite hero/role model used to be Child Emperor, but that has been completely removed for Tareo seeing Garou has his coolest/Greatest Hero instead. :')) While Tareo's importance to Garou - both for his char development and as his grounding, emotional anchor to his humanity, has become far more thematically emphasized. Wc Bang and Garou's relationship was quite lacking and never got the closure (or chance to reconcile) that they deserved. :') While in the manga it's portrayed as more of an estranged father-son relationship, where both sides yearn to reconnect what was broken, and Garou deep-down craves for Bang's actual support & validation for once. The way ONE decided to actually give him that in the end (more of the emotional support from Bang he needs, for the chance to heal and be happier) over his continued alienation alone as a fugitive in the wc, is such a significant change (hope vs uncertainty, suffering, hardship) feeling like the actual ‘blessing’ from god-ONE leaving off on a far more positive/healthy note.
But cause ONE was dead-set on presenting manga Garou as a (conflicted, misguided) 'good guy' who's clearly heroic/pure of heart (who's likely to remain involved in the plot or to become a hero in the future), displayed at his strongest when he chooses to ‘follow his heart’ putting everything else aside to save Bang & Tareo, that meant for him to still do anything morally questionable or believably 'evil’ in contrast, several compromises and tradeoffs had to be made. Mainly, as his character was set up, he could no longer actually do those 'bad' things as Himself anymore - THAT became the biggest divergence.
As wc Garou's agency/awareness of his own actions was never called into question; he did everything consciously alert under his own power. :O He was still confused of the changes happening to him for sure (also his hair literally turned into horns with a completely different ‘monster’ design), while figuring out what he wants as he goes - venting all his motivations in his verbose speeches at the end, but he still pressed on with a purpose. He never showed signs of feral 'sleep-walking,' doing things unknowingly/accidentally, or idle susceptibility to having his choice/control removed or taken from him. The fact wc Garou's most brutal attacks on the heroes were given to the monster cadres instead, and that manga Garou never fought/humbled the entire S Class, but needed to be literally unconscious (vs Darkshine and Bang) or forcibly corrupted under the influence (against his will & understanding) for anything 'bad' to happen says a lot. As that change actually removes much of manga Garou's culpability and muddles his actual accountability. (If ONE wants to explore the new in-universe ambiguity of that drama during his 'rehabilitation' later.) Especially when manga Garou became a trapped victim to god's True Evil cosmic mindrape (and takes all the blame upon himself for being weak, even for refusing/resisting/enduring that trauma as a survivor....now that's horrifically unfair.)
Wc Garou purposely leaving the heroes he fought alive, never wanting to kill a human, was a defining 'soft' trait (retaining his humanity) and mark of the moral line he refused to cross. This was so important to uphold, despite how 'evil' and vicious his (performative) actions appeared to be. Which was also consistent with manga Garou (as Himself) for the entire time he kept up the act too, until the inserted god thing completely threw that out the window, forcibly taking the choice away from him (as it was impossible in manga Garou’s nature to do this otherwise), in the most grievous 180 violation departure of his char to anyone who actually knows him (Bang, Blast, and later Saitama all recognized this Wasn't Him despite his claims), for the full shock of the trope 'ooc is serious business' to be put into play for real - as Saitama failed to take him seriously, with doomed repercussions for everybody. D: Even canon itself agreed this development never should have happened.
Saitama vs Garou went completely differently (no one died, the battle was localized and contained to martial arts skills only without any portal/space/nuclear/time superpowers, several heroes were still conscious to witness Saitama’s strength, everyone but Saitama wanted to execute Garou, etc), that I recommend you see the wc for yourself to understand all the differences and controversies, or even just to feel how the ‘vibe’ changed. Wc Garou being one-sidedly beaten with his whole ideology deconstructed and broken til he loses the will to live (til he’s saved by Tareo) was certainly something. And him becoming suicidal in the manga was also played with, but if there’s one feature I’m proud of manga Garou for, is that even after being physically beaten and suffering the horrific (sobering & distraught) realization he accidentally killed Tareo (!!!!)....he still resolved to reach out with the leading plan to help save the world (choosing to take action and sacrifice himself as a hero), vs wc Garou who lost his sense of purpose and no longer knew what to do. :’)) Manga Garou’s core motivations were also not totally broken in the reverted timeline either, so his unresolved feelings will likely remain valid & relevant in the events coming forward.

Characters I want to rattle like an angry maraca for an undiscerned amount of time based on how chewy they are
Call him gum the way I'm chewing on him all day
Starscream
Look at him. He's a petty bitch. He's standing there all smug and confident while thousands of traumas happen around him. He's a girlboss, he's an unrepentant pathological liar, he's megatron's silly rabbit, he's my babygirl. He's one of those toys that is animal shape but if you squeeze it, it's eyes or stomach pops out. I want to do that to him constantly. He has an immortal spark so it's ok he'll live.
Newt Giezler
He's the type of scientist Ian Malcom would hate. He's the Icarus of his tale. He overshot the sun and landed in the black hole at the center of our galaxy. He's not doomed by the narrative, the narrative is doomed by him. He's like a dog you need to keep an eye on constantly or else he decides that he actually can eat chocolate and devours a whole cake. Telling him to slow down is a slap in the face. How dare you tell him to wait for everyone else when he can finally see the way to save humanity, all the while becoming their enemy's greatest weapon. He's so invested in interviewing God he forgot he was dining with the devil. Who gets the bill in the end?
Jason Todd
Look at him. Look. He's everything he's been told but so much more. He's the tragic son. The black sheep. His past is rags to riches, his present is the unsettling truth, I hope his future is good. This is the guy that got me into fandoms. He is a part of my soul. So hurt and beaten by the world yet still kind and caring.
Ramses II (Prince of Egypt)
I am not talking about the real Pharaoh, only the one created by Dreamworks. Now I am a slut for good sibling dynamics but the best one is sibling vs sibling. I want that drama, the emotion of caring for someone your whole life only for them to betray you. Moses was ok to fight Ramses I when he went to free the Jews but to face his brother, one of the closest people he's ever been to, it's devastating. The utter joy when Ramses expressed when Moses is alive, he practically abandoned court etiquette. He was willing to lie to his father to keep Moses safe. They were the closest of brothers and now they're pitted against each other.
A rubber band, sproingy but not sustainable
Jazz
What do you see when you see Jazz? A happy go lucky guy without a care in the world? Wrong. He's Special Operations which means he's cheats, lies, steals for a living. He operates on a kill or be killed basis and he will kick your ass if he feels like it
Sunstreaker and Sideswipe
They're precious boys. They stand out from the Autobots bc they're so decepticon like. They were in the same Pit as Megatron and instead of joining him, they chose the Autobots. And despite all the comments, they're so loyal to the Autobots.
Skyfire
Imagine crashing in a snowstorm then waking up 4 billion years later that your entire planet is dead. Skyfire woke up to a world devastated by civil war, to a decepticon that wore his partner's face. He thought he knew what he was getting into because Starscream wouldn't lie to him. But he did. Skyfire shot down his ex because he's a good bot at heart and it hurts him to see someone close to him like this. He's a main character of a Greek tragedy.
Predigested sludge
Bumblebee
Listen, I love Bee. He got me into tf. But my god is he everywhere. I get it, he's the kids character. But he can be fun and playful and still kick ass. Looking at his arc from tfp to its successor RiD15, those are two different Bumblebees. Id love to shake him but he's Hasbro's cash cow. You can't shake a cash cow without the jangle drawing out capitalists.

FebruarOC - Ianto
Way back in the day (like 2011), I was into HP. I mean, not to say "who wasn't" because some people weren't but it was like, a good portion of my experience growing up. Tragic, truly, but unlike some people I know (this isn't a subtweet to anyone here I promise) I didn't define a huge chunk of my life around it so it was easy to just rip it out.
Ianto is my HP expy. Got him out of there in like 2014 before abandoning him so it's not like I went back to an old HP fic and went "oh no must rescue him this series is uncool now". Naw I got stuck on canon incorporation to the AU and decided to remove it then. Only then I never plotted anything.
For the time being, "The World Listens" is listed under my A Collection of Curses project (where yesterday's Horatio is also technically from). I do love the concept a lot, and I think it will benefit from not being an AU fic, but that's a future concern to have. It would probably also be rather too long for it??
Ianto, whom I have no idea if I gave a last name to but I should just so i stop calling him Ianto Jones, was born with the coveted ability to be able to communicate with the dead. There's only two things wrong with that: 1) the ability is coveted by the Evil Government (yeah I'll have to work out the Tom Riddle as Minister of Magic expy at some point) (i HATE that series of words I just typed???) in order to corner the market on dead communications and 2) he can't actually speak to them. He can only hear them, but there's something that's blocking the transmissions going out, so to speak (badum tsss).
Which, since this has always been the case for him, he's never really had to worry about it. He's just been able to coast by, hearing ghosts -- ghosts who KNOW that he can hear them, but it doesn't occur to them that he can't talk back. He doesn't do anything about what they're saying partially because there's no conversation happening, he can't see them, and also he's doing his damned hardest to keep his head down!!
Eventually he meets Zoë (I'll talk about her at the end of the alphabet) who wants to start a business utilizing his abilities to communicate (well, at least listen) to the dead. Doing WHAT I don't know. From what I remember of the original plotting it just sort of became a club house they didn't actually do any business. Either way, Zoë introduces him to Shiloh, an inventor who thinks she might be able to solve Ianto's "unable to talk to the dead" problem.
Ianto's whole arc is the reluctant hero, who was perfectly content with his lot in life even if it was kind of annoying to be talked to by things he couldn't see or talk back to and knowing that if ever he got found out it would be BAD NEWS BEARS. But then he starts to meet more of the magical community that he just never interacted with, despite being a part of, and he begins to realize that like??? He doesn't have it great all things considered but he's got it a lot better than a lot of them?
And he meets more people like him, but in different ways! This fic was really going to be me playing with the concept of fated chosen ones (aka the really was the difference between harry and neville) and then also characters as foils (harry vs draco) in a way that was seriously lacking in the source material. As a trio, Ianto was the one that could communicate with the dead, "Draco" was the one who could see them, and "Neville" was the one who could like, touch them, for lack of a better term. He used his abilities for healing and helping ghosts move on.
(I only have names for three of the characters I'm sorry it's been such low priority because I don't plan on working on this any time soon)
You can find the rewrite of the last scene i did up for free over on patreon. I'm just taking a huge scalpel to it in terms of what actually gets revealed here for world building because I'm just roughly cutting around the HP references, so it'll feel more flat than I could probably make it. Oops.

At what age did the Quirk manifest / What was happening:
✧ I'm convinced that most mutant quirks occur when the child is born. So Evie had her wings when she was born. They had no real bones at the time and couldn't really hurt the mom, but they still have to be careful, and most times, a cesarean delivery is better.
✧ Her Quirk didn't manifest until she was three and with her father. And let me tell you, watching a grown-ass man who reaches 7'2 in height running around freaking out because of a quirk manifesting is funny as hell.
✧ When it happened, Evie was coloring while Toshinori was captivated by a children's show playing on TV (he gets enthralled with kids' shows - fight me.) Evie's nose tingled and twitched before she sneezed, making her wings harden and shoot out beside her, hitting her dad in the face.
✧ Toshinori was sitting beside his daughter on the ground when the hardened wing slapped him dead center of his face. Surprising, the poor number one hero started freaking out that his beloved firstborn got her Quirk.
✧ He was running around the room, yelling with blood dripping from his nose. His frantic movements and blood dripping down his face made Evie laugh hysterically before she got up, jumping around and knocking everything over. Lamps and cups and papers were flying off and everywhere. What made her stop was hands coming under her armpits and lifting her in the air.
✧ Toshinori held his daughter in the air with a big goofy smile, making Evie giggle and reach out for her dad's face, which still had blood on it.
✧ And that's how Evie's mom found everything. Blood on her husband's face, and holding up their daughter. After realizing what had happened, she jumped for joy, too, grabbing her daughter and hugging her close.
✧ All in all, it was a very special bonding moment.
>>>>
Quirk Info
Special Power:
✧ She can use her wings and hands to create a large gust of wind that can destroy some of her surroundings. (Since she is All Might's daughter, she has his DNA, which means she has a little bit of the One for All Quirk. She has enhanced strength but is weaker than her father or Midoriya.)
✧ She brings her wings back along with her arms before throwing them forward and meeting. That creates a giant gust of wind that can damage a lot in its path.
✧ But because of this, it takes most of her strength and can only be used once in a fight, and she needs good resting time for her wings because of how fragile they can get.
✧ She stands behind BK or ST, uses the wind gust with her wings with their Quirk, and sends both quirks forward to cause more damage or win more battles.
Strengths:
✧ Wings (feathers) can harden
✧ Feathers - Blades
✧ Flight
✧ Hard wings can be a shield to her and someone else when wrapped around them
✧ Athleticism (Flexible and can maneuver well) (Also trained in martial arts)
Drawbacks:
✧ Can't fly when wings are hard
✧ Her feathers can get burned when they aren't hard
✧ If she loses too many feathers, she can't fly
✧ When her body or Quirk is overused, her wings can't harden
✧ The skin/spot between the base of her wings is her weakest point. She can become paralyzed for a while if hit hard enough, and her wings hurt when used after.
✧ Overusing her Quirk makes her wings tender and delicate, making it easier for them to get hurt or for bones to break.
Gadgets/Tech:
✧ Earbuds for the wind; she can also hear and talk to people with it.
✧ Glasses/Goggles for the wind; She can also get info on them (think of how Tony Stark's Edith glasses that Peter got in 'Far from Home.')
✧ Since the spot between her wings is a weak point. She designed a hardback shell covering that area with straps around her shoulders.
Power Matchups:
✧ Toshinore/Izuku - OFA Power or any strength power
Name:
Description:
OFA user crouches with their hand kinda behind them, starting up their power. Evie gets at a distance to get good momentum before running straight for the user.
Jumping, she lands on the hand with her wings, ready to take off. The user then uses the power to throw Evie into the air, and she uses her wings to fly up, using both powers to shoot her through the air.
✧ Bakugo
Name: Explosive Wind
Description:
Bakugo takes a firm stance, grounding himself and putting his hands before him with his Quirk ready. Evie stands behind him with her arms around his torso and wings back in their hardened state.
They both simultaneously use their Quirks. Bakugo lets out explosions while Evie throws her wings forward, creating a massive blast of wind/air, carrying the explosions forward and producing a chain reaction.

Ok, I’ve tried and tried and tried to write this fic because I see it so clearly in my mind but it’s just not going no matter what I do. But I don’t want the idea to die with me. The closest this came to being written was exile which was an attempt to bleed out some of the energy of this au.
Anyway, so it starts off vaguely similar to canon only more aggressive. There had been underlying tension between ghosts and humans for a while, the dead jealous/angry at the living for disrespecting them. The successful creation of the Fenton ghost portal (and another halfa) was considered an act of war and so the ghosts responded in kind. So basically all of S1 occurs fairly close to canon except ghost attacks are more violent and have increasingly more consequences as time passes. Also the attacks aren’t just in Amity Park with ghosts becoming a worldwide issue but Amity is a focal point. Regular people know the ghosts hate them though they don’t know why. Phantom is very much a controversial figure as he is a ghost but also clearly is fighting off the more violent ghosts.
One day, not long after the events of Control Freaks, Amity Park wakes up to find three of their own are gone. Danny Fenton, Sam Manson and Tucker Foley are nowhere to be found. There’s a massive manhunt, the parents go on TV and beg for information but they cannot be found. Curiously enough, town hero Phantom was also missing. There’s some evidence they left of their own volition so the Mansons and Foleys eventually relent that the kids fled on their own. The Fentons are 100% certain the kids were stolen/killed by ghosts as a statement. And the fact that Phantom went missing around the same time means he was the one who killed them. Jazz knows Danny was Phantom but had no idea what was going on and knew her parents wouldn’t listen she just, kept quiet and privately tried to piece together what happened.
Three years pass and finally it looks like the Ecto War is coming to a close. Young, naive ghosts attempted to raise Pariah Dark in a bid to win. It went disastrously but Phantom (who was periodically spotted around the world, deep in the worst battles of the war) and group of loyal allies subdued the king. By the law of ghosts, Phantom was named heir apparent and he declared that the fighting would stop. Humans and ghosts would have to negotiate and co-exist in peace. But he’s not king yet, no he needs to be crowned at the place where it began, Amity Park’s Fenton portal (”where it all began” has a double meaning of the beginning of the war but also symbolically where Phantom began as Kings assume the crown where their living life ended to show their abandonment of their first life and the commitment to their second). Amity is NOT happy to hear that their former hero is coming home.
Amity has been through the wringer, ghost attacks got pretty bad. The Fenton’s throw themselves into their work to cancel out the grief, they create a group of ghost hunters nicknamed the Reds (for their red blood, ghosts are nicknamed Greens) to control the threat. Valerie heads the young adult division and is considered one of the best, she drops out of school to devote herself to it full time. Oh also her dad is now the Mayor as most have died or didn’t want the job. There are still people who like Phantom and see him as a hero (a lot of Casper Kids) but it’s generally an unpopular opinion in town. Maddie and Jack are ready to obliterate the ghost that took their son’s life the moment he’s within city limits. It’s a powder keg ready to blow. It all comes to a head when Phantom and his entourage arrive.
First off, Phantom looks very different, much less human looking than when he left. He’s clearly aged like a normal teen but his eyes look much, much older.  His skin is dead white with a blue tinge to it from his ice core and his aura is super cold. His hair is longer and is very misty that kind of swirls around him and his has fangs and claws. When he’s deep in battle or his obsession, his sclera turn black and he looks scary af. His entourage is ghosts who have sworn loyalty to him, who he picked up along the way after battling beside them for 3 years. Fright Knight, Skulker and Frostbite are recognizable allies. They are not happy that their future King is back in Amity (secretly fearing they’ll lose him once more to his human life). J&M have a shot and are going for the kill when they see something that shocks them; Sam and Tucker are in Phantom’s entourage.
There had been whispers that Phantom interacted with humans, that humans were in his inner circle but this is something else together. And so are Sam and Tucker. Sam is Phantom’s General, she is talented and collected and half feral. She used to be a pacifist but the trials of war and understanding that peace sometimes needs to be fought for made her compromise. She’s covered in scars and an extremely talented fighter. She’s missing her right hand up to her forearm, she can form a ‘phantom limb’ (basically borrowing ectoplasm from her future ghost) to do some things with some powers. Tucker is the support, he uses human and ghost tech to organize, weaponize and generally keep things running. He’s covered in homemade tech (shields and weapons and computers) and he rarely removes. Both he and Sam have kinda forgotten how to interact with and really BE human after so long among the dead. They had attempted to conceal themselves but they had forgotten how strong parental love and recognition is. J&M want to know about Danny, the teens don’t know how to respond but assure them he’s alive. Phantom can’t bring himself to look at them.
This is where I start to lose track of things but there will be parallels of Valerie/Maddie vs Sam as female warriors on opposite sides who are willing to go behind, possibly compromising the things important to them, for victory. Tucker will be contrasted against Jack/Jazz as the one making weapons but also generally keeping the human parts of the team mentally/physically afloat. *Severe* PTSD for all three of them. They’re also unnaturally codependent on each other, get super anxious when one of the trio is out of sight and sleep in a big cuddle pile. They will fucking Kill You if you look at one of them wrong. Vlad will be involved, he had been jailed for war crimes but convinced Walker to stage a coup to overthrow Danny and take the crown before he’s actually declared King and is too powerful. Vlad is more unhinged here, more ghost than human (a hint on what could happen to Danny if he’s not careful). He is eventually defeated but he sacrifices his life for ghost power which, in the end, is what makes him able to be beaten.
There’s lots of ideas on what it means to be live or dead and where the divide really is, is it a heartbeat or it is how you choose to use your existence. On how duty shouldn’t mean you need to give up everything. Because Jack and Maddie believe that Phantom killed their son and, in a way, they’re right. Before they left, the ghost war had gotten so bad and the rumors of Dark being resurrected were going around. Amity attacks were at an all time high, people in their school were being killed just because Danny went there. He realized he had to choose between Fenton or Phantom and he chose to protect the world. He abandoned his human identity and went off to fight in war. Tried to convince Sam and Tucker to stay but they followed him through hell and back. Because Danny spends so much time as Phantom, Fenton is severely neglected. His long hair is cool and floaty as Phantom but is unkempt and stringy, hanging in his face as Fenton. He’s wan and underweight and looks like a walking corpse. He knows his human half will give out soon if he doesn’t give it more attention but he just can’t there’s too much to do, too many people to save.
It would end with Danny being outed to the town, not the world, just the town. Jack and Maddie need to recon with the fact that their boy DID leave of his own choice but only because their failure to protect him (from both the portal and ghosts) made him feel he had to take all this responsibility on his shoulders. Danny also has to recognize that he (and Sam/Tuck) can’t do all this on their own and they can trust and rely on the people around him. Phantom is crowned King but he decides Amity will be his base. The trio eat more, sleep some, catches up on school all the while continuing their duties as King and court. The ghosts also see that Phantom’s humanity isn’t a weakness but a strength and will bring peace to the Earth/Zone so they also take some of the burdens off his shoulder.
Basically I load up heavily with angst at the beginning and end with all the love and comfort imaginable. I just can’t fucking figure out the middle and my motivation will not let me write this shit out. But I can’t let this AU die bc it fucking keeps me up at night.

deancas fic rec list!
hello everyone! happy christmas to those who celebrate it, my gift to you is my fic rec list that i said i would make like a month ago. the only thing it is organized by is canonverse vs alternate universe. tried to cover a variety of subjects but there are in particular many fics of the genre “postcanon where cas is human and he and dean live together and slowly finally get their shit together” because i know what i’m about, son. HOPE U ENJOY. and if you wanna talk about any of them or rec me other fics please do. :)
Canonverse:
where the weeds take root by deathbanjo, 30k, explicit “Are you happy? Y’know. Just—being here,” Dean says, gesturing to the yard with his beer bottle. “Being with—I mean, you used to fight in celestial wars and—and save the world. Now you’re growing vegetables and talking about chickens.” There are many fics set in a post-canon universe where Cas is human and he and Dean live together and slowly fall into a relationship. Imo this one is the best of the best of that genre. This was one of the first fics I read back in July when I was getting Back Into Supernatural where I was like oh fuck I’m like in this. Dean builds Cas planters and bookshelves and a chicken coop and they fight and work through it.
Cuckoo And Nest by komodobits, 10k, explicit For a long time, Castiel thought that every earthly possession other than the immediately necessary was excess to requirement. But Dean – Dean who named his car, who keeps a photograph of his mother in his wallet, some thirty-plus years after her death, who still has the crumpled ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign with a sleeping pelican emblazoned on it from the Microtel outside of Roanoke where he first kissed Castiel, clumsy and unsure, under the unsteady fluorescence of an exhausted bathroom bulb – is sentimental. It puzzles Castiel, where Dean draws the line between what is meaningful and what it is worthless. Really Gets the dynamic of Cas doesn’t think Dean wants him to stay/Dean thinks Cas will leave the first chance he gets. Also a nice example of Cas thinking he’s not wanted if he’s not useful/powerful and being told otherwise. Another all-time fave!
lonely hearts by outphastthemoat, 4.5k, gen He thinks he might give up having his own anything just to be able to step foot inside the room next door and sit on the edge of Dean’s bed instead. This one is for the CAS GIRLS who know what LONELINESS feels like.
Helionneiros by aeli_kindara, 24.2k, mature In which Dean visits his mother, and Claire takes Cas on a hunt. I’m always on the lookout for more fic with Claire and Jack. Jack doesn’t show up until the end here but the relationship between Cas and Claire is really nice.
Crawl by aeriallon, 11k, explicit It’s been almost four years since Castiel left Kansas; he'd eventually settled in an island town where he has a job, a house, and a life without the Winchesters. Every winter, Dean drives down to the coast to see him. Another fic where Cas is human but in this one he took some time for himself and got some distance from the Winchesters! He gets to be competent and weird as a human and we love that for him. I must warn you all that this fic contains one use of the phrase “making love” which would normally put me right off but it’s still worth reading. The first of a three-part series.
home where you hold me by microcomets, 1.6k, gen Cas and Dean, in the moments between their battles, ache for quiet spaces. Technically this is a coda to 10x20 but you don’t need the episode for context. Short and very sweet.
Build a Home by domesticadventures, 20.1k, teen After they save the world, Dean expects Cas to come back to the bunker with them. He doesn’t. This one is so cute it’s like what if once they were done saving the world Sam and Dean actually invited other hunters to move into the bunker with them. Obviously Dean wants that to include Cas but doesn’t know how to use his words.
the taste of gravel in the mouth by deathbanjo, 22.4k, explicit This is what Cas gave up Heaven for: greasy diner food, shitty motel rooms with even shittier cable, long car rides spent in complete silence except for the same six tapes playing over and over again, and a burnt-out husk of a man who can barely hold a conversation anymore. Angst fic! They go on a road trip and Dean is severely fucked up post-Mark of Cain.
Unknown Quantities by xylodemon, 8.6k, explicit No one ever tells Dean anything. Another nice getting-together fic.
Creature of Habit by trinityofone, 5.2k, teen The more you love someone, the more you want to kill them. Or: How Cas developed some bad habits, and Dean coped surprisingly well. This one is ancient by destiel standards (written during season 5) but it manages to nail the married couple vibes they give off in later seasons. Cas is a bitch and Dean likes him so much. <3
The (Mostly Accidental) Courtship of Dean Winchester by Tuesday, 11.2k, mature Angelic marriage rites were never intended to go quite like this. Another old one that is a lot of fun! They get Accidental Angel Married and if you don’t enjoy dumb fanfiction tropes like that I don’t know what to say to you.
Vena Amoris and Other Old-Fashioned Bullshit by pyrebi, 4k, teen In which angelic marriage bonds are apparently stupidly easy to trigger, Cas wages multidimensional war in Heaven, Dean can't catch a break like ever, Sam rather enjoys being a dick, love saves the day, and nobody consummates anything. The OTHER accidental angel marriage fic written in 2010.
Crazy Diamonds by pantheon_of_discord, 24.8k, explicit A week ago, Dean was pulled out of Hell. Now, he’s apparently woken up in 2018, and the angel that a mere twenty-four hours beforehand had threatened to chuck him back into the pit is sleepily pouring himself coffee and wearing Dean’s second-favourite Zeppelin shirt. It all seems like a perfect happy ending, but with Hell’s scars still so fresh, Dean can’t imagine how he could have possibly gotten there. At the same time, the Dean who went to sleep in the bunker, right next to Cas, wakes up on Bobby’s couch in 2008. He’s instantly bombarded with questions by a Lilith-obsessed brother and a man who’s been dead for years, and must decide between keeping his finally-perfect life intact, and the lives he could save by re-writing history. Regardless of these choices, both Deans are trapped in the wrong decade, and their only way back lies with a Castiel still very much under Heaven’s thumb – one who might find the future Dean describes difficult to believe. Time travel is FUN. There’s an excellent part where (minor spoilers) future!Dean is like, “Guess what, asshole? You like me so much you marry me!!!!!!!!!!!” to 2008!Castiel that made me laugh out loud the first time I read it. Also just a good reminder of how most problems in life are temporary and if you could go back in time to talk to your younger self you’d be like, “Hey man. Chill out. You get through it.”
The Path of Fireflies by museaway, 63.7k, mature After his humanity is restored, Dean wakes up in bed with Castiel, a wedding ring, and no memory of the past twelve years. There’s a lot of amnesia fic and djinn fic out there were Dean wakes up ~suddenly together with Cas~ but I like this one in particular because he’s initially very confused and kind of a dick about it until he acknowledges that being with Cas makes him happy.
take the long way home by dothraki_shieldmaiden, 95k, explicit Three months ago, when Dean decided to retire, he thought his life was going to end up differently. He'd thought that he might get to have it all, Sam, Cas, Jack, and nice little place to live. Instead he gets Sam and Jack off on their Summer of Love Tour, radio silence from Cas, and a never-ending road trip consisting of himself. Still reeling from the loss of his grace, Castiel travels the country in search of hunts. Driven by a need to prove his usefulness, he pushes himself beyond all limits of endurance. Together, with the help of a few friends, a crumbling Victorian house, and a stray cat, Dean and Castiel patch themselves back together and create a home together. Do you wanna read almost one hundred thousand words of Dean and Cas having extremely intense feelings but refusing to voice them aloud? Haha of course you do that’s why you’re here. There’s also a lot about Cas adjusting to being human and being depressed about it which might resonate if you’ve ever felt weird about having a body. To be honest the author could stand to use a few more commas but there were also half a dozen moments that made me put my phone down and drag my hand slowly over my face and whisper “oh my god” to myself which is like, the ultimate measure of a good fanfiction so it gets to be on the list.
like moses and batman and james dean by saltyfeathers, 31.6k, explicit dean used to turn tricks. over a decade later, he met cas. Have you seen the fanon (apparently pioneered by Mr. Jackles “Original Deankin” Ackles himself) that Dean used to prostitute himself to feed himself and Sam when they were younger? Are you interested in exploring that concept in fanfiction? Well, this is the only fic you need. Mind the tags on this one! It’s not what I’d call happy but it’s good.
Some Assembly Required by narrow_staircases, 47k, mature It’s September of 2005, and Dean Winchester, in an attempt to outrun old mistakes and painful memories, finds himself in southern Kentucky on a wild goose chase. He’s completely certain this weird religious movement he’s “investigating” is a hoax, despite the miraculous healings people report, and he’ll be back on the road in a day or two. Things are looking up when he meets Cas, an awkward (and gorgeous) graduate student who’s actually doing honest-to-god research into the local tent revival meetings. When that research takes a weird and personal turn, Dean’s left to face two very serious realities: one, this may be a real case after all, and two, he’s fallen way harder for Cas than he should ever have let himself. Stanford-era AU of Dean trying to avoid his father and getting in over his head on a case.
Alternate universe:
And This, Your Living Kiss by opal_bullets, 57k, mature Only a very few people in the world know that the celebrated and reclusive poet Jack Allen is just Kansas mechanic Dean Winchester, a high school dropout with a few bucks to his name. Not that it matters anymore; life has left him so wrung out he never wants to pick up another pen. Until, that is, a string of coincidences leads Dean to auditing a poetry course with one Dr. Castiel Novak. The  professor is wildly intelligent, devastatingly handsome...and just so happens to be academia's foremost expert on the poetry of Jack Allen. Mundane AUs in this fandom have to be really, really good to catch my attention and this one is! It’s exactly what it says in the summary and the characterization is spot-on.
Out to Drift by deathbanjo, 20.9k, mature Dean drives a black car with a loud engine. He lies too easily. He keeps a gun in the back of his jeans, and Castiel isn’t sure, but he wouldn’t be surprised if Dean has killed someone before. Two people in fucked-up unstable situations meeting and forming a connection. Honestly guys I really just love deathbanjo.
