Tbh the strangest and most concerning thing about kids that I’ve observed get steadily worse is how these kids just…don’t know how to use a computer???

Like if you put a 12-15 year old kid and my 50 something year old mom next to each other and asked them to copy and paste using a computer, both would look at me like a deer in headlights!!

And yes I know some of this is because schools just don’t really have computer classes anymore (like I had ones that taught “proper” typing, Microsoft office programs like Word and PowerPoint, etc.) but like??? Every school I’ve been to so far has had computers for students so they’re all on devices all the time yet still don’t know how to use them.

Hell, they barely know how to type a URL in! Like! Huh! I’m genuinely concerned about them not knowing how to use a computer properly and how they use it so freely without proper thought and care as to what they put out into the world.

#meows #SORRY teacher rant #and before you go well then just make your work paper #1. their handwriting is on level with their reading scores (3rd grade or lower)#and 2. the main class I teach has a program that’s only online #that I’m required to make them use #and tbh for my two ela classes most of my stuff IS paper #except bell ringers that’s online #it’s just scary how their media literacy is on par w their computer skills #I even try to add visual instructions to help them #but next day boom gone #I have kids who still ask how to copy and paste their assignments #into the turn in box even tho it’s a daily assignment they do #and so theoretically they should be copying and pasting each day #and yet!

#Still remember when me & VanilleCaek were both so immersed by this game's Lore/Maps/Items/Class.#We gonna go on some places that no other players around just for an in-game adventure. Even if it's actually a waste of time to walk there.#Nowadays we're so distracted in leveling quick that immersion was all gone & we're also more into meeting new people in-game too.#Miss those feelings when we were just a noob we're so excited in every Map/Items & reading NPCs dialogues.#Even if we can still do that it's just impossible to have that good feelings of being blissfully ignorant in the game.#And the fact that we got in-game friends now we gotta keep up within their levels so we don't get left too behind it's just all pressure.#Ragnarok Online

Signed up for my first in-person sign language class letsgooooo

#been waiting for this for literal years #i impulsively learned asl online (lifeprint beloved) cause there’s no free online resources for slovenian sign #and i wanted to see what it’s like first #fast forward to now. three years and countless bathroom monologues and late night noah kahan sign-alongs later #i finally live in the capital for uni and can get classes for the thing that’s actually used here <3 #gonna be especially useful as a nurse/ems staff cause interpreters take a while to arrive (if they do at all)#also first level is taught by an interpreter and then ssl2-ssl5 are by deaf teachers and man. is there anything better #we start march 4th and i am vibrating #noodle rambles #🤟🏻

I just want to be able to connect with people in real life to the same degree that I can online. I want to talk with people and do activities together and have the experience of being friends in an offline setting. How do I achieve that. Where I do find you people in the real world ;-;
