I realized last night just how much pain you were in. All my “observational skills” didn’t help me to see it. Sure, I’ve made peace with a less than perfect life, but losing Al… This is the first time I’ve met grief. I admit, at first, I wanted to give up. Now, I’m beginning to realize that I want to fight. Either way, it’s having the company I’ve had that gets me through. It helps me enough just to know that you’re here. But if you don’t want to be, then— TAYUIN: I do want to. do you think simon and mob wife snuggle in bed? because of various joint and muscle issues it’s hard for me to sleep without something supportive between my knees/hips and the bed so. curious if simon is a cuddler or if he just lets wifey cling to him :3

i don't think simon is a huge cuddler, but his bride is, so he sucks it up.

it isn't because he doesn't want to cuddle with her, it's because he has nightmares sometimes, and he hates to wake her up. the jolts that have him sitting up, the breaths he tries to catch when he feels like he's buried six feet under again.

you've learned not to wake up fully anymore. you just feel around for his hand and hold it. simon doesn't like attention when it happens, doesn't like for you to baby him, but the small gesture is enough to get his breathing back to normal, for his heart rate to slow back down.

and he can only go back to sleep again once he's got you tucked under his arm, your legs tangled between his. he appreciates that you never say anything; he appreciates that all you do is kiss the side of his face and go right back to sleep. if he wants to tell you about his nightmares, you let him, but you never ask.

you just keep your head on your chest and listen to the sound of his even breaths as he falls back asleep again. sometimes you wonder if it'll be the last night you hear them at all.

but can you imagine Jace from Act3 end up seeing Viktor from season 1 and BECOMING absolutely crazy, careful, obsessed with staying with him all the time/making sure he doesn't get evil/corrupted by the Hexcore and still with the knowledge that this man saved him countless times from death, that he chose him in all dimensions and possibilities and that Old jace from the past DIDN'T realize it.

This is a deeply compelling (and frustrating, intentionally so) characterization of Liliana in that its. Spot on of like- Liliana has been bought in. She's already been won over. She has believed in and dedicated herself to a cause that has made promises and painted a picture of a world she wants so badly that it is unfathomable to turn away from it. She's been entrenched in a world and a mindset that does not allow her to turn away.

Its a cult. Its a cause.

And the arguments are awful and nonsensical and they go in circles and are steeped in rhetoric, not reason. And under it all, if Liliana sways- it is because she feels something- the fear of losing her daughter, the physical evidence of the loss that is piling up with no evidence of the payoff, not yet. It is not because the arguments are making her see reason. Its not because she has. Changed her mind.

Liliana is human, who wants, and feels, and breathes, and thinks, and the feeling, and the wanting- that, that is not something that a neatly organized debate was ever going to change.

"This doesn't make any sense!" It doesnt have to. Its just that it feels right. No persuasion roll alone can break through that.

Its great characterization! Its very real! It also sets me on edge and makes me want to throw her through a window the first chance i get, god dammit Liliana.

Was rereading the first Naruto chapter just to get some Iruka panels for a moot and wow I completely misremembered the Mizuki relationship. Iruka actually is entirely fucking friendless in the manga! Mizuki's backstory of being a fellow orphan and childhood friend of him is both a fanon and anime invention, in fact Mizuki only mentions Iruka's parents as having died to the fox, and it's somewhat implied that he was the only kid in his class to have lost anyone in that attack. Look how depressing he is here

This is also an interesting bit of lore I forgot about and I'm pretty sure this is bc it gets retconned at some point later so that everyone knew he was the jinchuuriki from the jump. This was also back when Iruka's adult age was given as 25 rather than 22, so this bit of lore was probably meant to imply he was one of the people who fought the fox, since he would've been 13 at the time [so a genin] instead of 10 as he was in current canon

Honestly the timeframe stuff even back in these early days was still very wonky and messy so I guess Kishimoto is consistent in one thing and its being bad at timelines and having to retcon a bunch of stuff lolol
