Eddie knocked on the door, “Angel.”

Eddie rested his head against the door, “Jason, what happened?”

“Nothing. Go away,” Jason growled.

“It was just a silly joke,” Eddie played with his rings.

“Oh, so marrying me is a joke? Ok great, never mind I feel all better,” Jason’s voice dropped with sarcasm, but there was hurt in there.

Eddie was talking so loud he almost missed it, but luckily he heard it.

“When?”

Eddie bit his lip. “Yeah. I mean… yeah. If that’s okay-“

Jason threw the door open and slammed into him. Eddie yelped as he staggered back, hands suddenly full of 150 pounds of crying jock.

Jason didn’t seem to care. They slammed into the back of their tiny thrift store couch.

“You mean it?” Jason asked.

Eddie almost laughed, but it seemed cruel, so instead he just held Jason right, “Always.”

And yet, the fact they’ve synced so well when it comes to functioning as a pack in such short time is baffling. Nick knew Jack was going to be a great help, but he still can’t help but feel a bit badly that his time here seemingly overlaps with the worst of Shane’s teething.

With a soft sigh, he moves his head against Jack’s shoulder, looking up at him from where his head lays.

i do try to give off some warning on tumblr beforehand, especially with really angsty chapters 😭 but the unknown can be so fun!! it feels more like a story that way? little hints dropped here and there to foreshadow what's going to happen in the next chapter...

i think i've mentioned a few times that TPtM will have a happy ending, but it is exciting to think about what could happen between now and then, considering we have a whole other act to get through... teehee >:3
