some fun facts about the OP versions of my OCs that’ll eventually make it into their bios:

-Izzy, instead of having a compound like she does in most other AUs, is a traveling merchant! she has a ship(blueprints made by her, constructed in Water 7) and travels the world, selling and trading to different people on different islands in different seas. she’s originally from the South Blue, was sold as a slave for money by her parents, and after she was liberated she returned home to kill them before leaving to travel the world. she’s also still a cyborg, and as well, she has The Voice Of All Things, and used those powers to befriend a Sea Beast she now keeps as a pet. She also sells to pirates, but she tries to do so discreetly, so as to not anger the World Government and get the Marines after her. she does have several contingency plans if a Marine ship or officer happens to see her selling to pirates, and they all end in the death of said Marines. She’s good friends with many crews of the Worst Generation, including the Straw Hat pirates(she’s especially good friends with Franky, with them both being cyborgs), the Kid pirates, and the On Air pirates(until Scratchmen Apoo’s betrayal of the Kid Pirates and the Hawkins Pirates). She and Massacre Soldier Killer have a physical relationship, and after the Kid Pirates are attacked by Kaido and the Beast Pirates, she travels to Wano(with the help of Sai) to help free them, and fights the Beast Pirates in the attack on Onigashima island by Luffy and The Alliance.

-The Gourmets, who are a mercenary group in most of my AUs, are a pirate crew in One Piece. The original three of the crew are Cremini(the captain and cook), her adoptive brother Sage(a musician), and their friend Burrata(a carpenter and the shipwright), and they became inspired to become pirates after the Straw Hats liberated their home country of Alabasta. on their way to the New World, they picked up Mille(a trans girl who found her way to Kamabakka Kingdom who became their navigator), Tira(a shipwrecked young nonbinary teen who’s their lookout), and the twins Agave and Stevie(i havent fully fleshed out their backstory yet but Agave is the ship doctor and Stevie is one of the main fighters of the group). they eventually ally themselves with the Big Mom pirates, but after the events of Whole Cake Island, they follow Jinbei’s lead and desert, instead joining the Straw Hat Grand Fleet. Cremini and Sanji have a romance arc as well!

-The Nova siblings are all a part of the Revolutionary Army. Calli and Coco, instead of being separated by someone adopting Coco like in other AUs, were separated on Sabaody Archipelago by a World Noble taking Coco as a slave. Sascha, who was already a Revolutionary at the time, witnessed the event, and took Calli under his wing and protected her after Coco was taken. Coco met Izzy while enslaved in the holy land of Mariejois, and both were freed when Fisher Tiger liberated the land. it took a few years for Coco to reunite with Calli, but when she did, she joined the Revolutionary Army, mostly to help protect her sister. Coco’s dream is to restore their ancestral homeland, an island in the North Blue called Andromede that was razed by Germa 66 before the girls were born. She ends up falling for White Hunter Smoker, the Marine, after a series of unusual circumstances that bring the two together, though they dislike each other at first, and have many disagreements over politics.

-Calli has a Devil Fruit! the Nuru Nuru no Mi, a Paramecia type fruit that gives her the power of nullification. she can temporarily nullify things like traps, defenses, and even other Devil Fruits(although she can only do that for about two minutes at a time, and it takes a lot of energy out of her). she mostly uses it to prank people, especially poor Inazuma and Ivankov(and later Sabo when he gets Ace’s devil fruit). She dreams of being a historian and wants to make sure that the events of this era don’t disappear like the Void Century did. because of this, she is very close to Nico Robin during and after her stay with the Revolutionaries during the timeskip. Robin even began teaching her how to read poneglyphs, though this is a secret that only the two of them know. Not even Coco is aware.

-Sascha is more or less exactly the same as he is within most AUs: his personality is unchanged, and he has little to no real memory of his past. he’s been with the Revolutionary Army since childhood, and fully believes in their dream to liberate the world from the World Nobles. The Nova Siblings in general tend to work most on breaking up slave trades, so they travel around in their own ship, under the guise of being a traveling music group(Calli plays guitar, Sascha does percussion, and Coco sings and dances), and investigate areas where lots of people tend to go missing. They’ve met the Straw Hats all together one time, between Thriller Bark and Sabaody, while the siblings were investigating an island where a trafficker had set up base.

-Sai is a member of the Third Eye tribe, and bc we still have almost no info on them, she’s still my least fleshed-out OC in OPverse. she still has her eye injury which makes her blind in her third eye, and just like in other AUs, that has helped her refine her powers. she has incredibly powerful Kenbunshoku Haki that rivals Katakuri’s, and uses this to help improve the world around her. she is the advisor to Monkey D. Dragon, head of the Revolutionary Army, and like in other AUs, she tends to largely work from the shadows to achieve her goals. Originally, she left her tribe to join the Marines in an attempt to make the world a better place, where she met her lover, Rocinante. Bc of her foresight, she knew he would die from the mission he took to stop Doflamingo, and she knew she couldn’t talk him out of it. After he went undercover, she deserted the Marines, and began honing her own intuition, with it leading her to helping Dragon and the Revolutionary Army. After Luffy came onto the scene as an established pirate, she discovered what his powers actually were, and threw her lot in to help support him wherever she could, believing he would bring liberation to the world. she is aware of many things that other people are not aware of, including the true nature of the Void Century, the One Piece itself, and the existence of Im. she tends to keep what she knows close to her chest though, in order to not endanger others. She also got to connect with Law and reconnect with Sengoku after the events of Dressrosa, as someone who was also important to Corazon.

It's fascinating to think of the future of tennis as a sport after this era is officially over (AKA all rafa, novak and andy finally retired for good). With the constant that is human progression, we always knew that sports are on the way up, getting faster, more competitive, more physically demanding and generally better, just look at the difference between olympics 50 years ago and now. But what if there is a limit with game-format restricted sports? Maybe there is a certain point where there is only so much racket development or match technology improvement we can make without transforming the sport into a whole different game entirely. Excluding physical human evolution itself, which might take a couple decades, the sport might have reached its peak in its most competitive form, and there is really no way of beating or even yet repeating this jackpot of golden era.

Sadly, if we're being honest the truest rivals of the big 3 in their dominance have only been each other and themselves. We've had a next gen, a next next gen, and a whole batch of new promising future players (we've even invented a tournament so they can compete AMONGST THEMSELVES only) but they never really did break the full dominance of these 30-40 year old veterans consistently, except for instances when they themselves are injured (e.g., Nadal pulling out of Wimbledon this year).

Tennis analysts have been criticised for being too judgmental, but they've also witnessed 20 something Federer taking the crown directly from Agassi-Sampras AND staying for the next 20 years at the top, as well as 17 year old Nadal beating the world number one consistently in his prime, and Djokovic doing the impossible and breaking into the Federer-Nadal duopoly.

The biggest worry is of course to have a whole generation of new players on the tour after the rest of the big 3 and their peers (Wawrinka, Andy, etc) retired who've never actually beaten (or pull the rug from under them so to say) the champions of the previous era consistently. This will mean that the sports have not transitioned to the better but has solely transitioned to the next era due to natural decline. Sadly, this seems more and more likely given that Nadal and Djokovic are well past their primes at this point and ARE STILL winning 2 slams in their late 30s, which means the opportunity to knock them off their crowns are pretty much expired as they're likely to retire on a high anyway.

The likeliest and most dangerous scenario is that we truly are living in a one-of-a-kind era, where the best tennis players that will ever be happened to be playing all at the same time. If that is so, it's time for us to realise the importance of enjoying the ride for as long as we got left. As it'll ever be this thrilling, this competitive, this mindboggling once, and we have the front row seats at the theatre of the gods.

This pendant is a perfect example of my love for Tumblr as an artistic business.

I love Tumblr for the fandom, the jokes, to social commentary, and the things that are just too difficult to explain to people not on this hellsite (affectionate).

But, this. This pendant. Damn.

We made these adorable little Robin Pendants with hand enameled masks and little crystals probably close to a decade ago. (Checking the OP timestamp it was December 2014).

When I originally sat down to make them I wasn't just going to enamel one of each color to see who was popular, that would have been silly. So I made a bunch of each.

In business terms, they flopped. But I always loved them.

They haven't been on our website since probably 2016 or 2018 (two big overhauls happened those years). The pendants were all disassembled so the crystal could be used elsewhere. And the Robins have been in a drawer ever since.

So why is this little pendant above so special to me and my feelings about Tumblr?

Because I took that photo today. Of a Stephanie Brown Robin Pendant I made this afternoon. Because someone found that ancient post, and commented on it that they'd love one of these. I was able to reach out and let them know it was possible. And through the magic of Tumblr we resurrected an 8 year old retired jewelry piece.

That's not something that happens on other social media sites. Once something is gone from the front page, it's gone forever. Resigned to the dustbin of digital history.

But here, here we celebrate "World Heritage Posts". We queue things like Sascha the Christmas Tiger 365 days in advance. We delight in going digging to find bits of the things we love.

And as an artist who tries desperately to make a living off of the shiny things we make, the fact that something can be found a week later, a year later, a decade later. It really is magic.

So yeah. Just going to be over here being sappy about community and jewelry for awhile.

Planning out my BG3 Sascha run and whoops looks like we're doing another 'bad' run. I'm sure it'll be fine!

Using the aasimar mod for that tasty Angel of Caine dynamic 8D

Old(tm). Highest stats are INT and CHA, classed as a draconic bloodline sorcerer/wizard (bloodline is gold/fire, mostly putting levels in wizard). Can't be selected in-game but they're the grandchild of Kereska, dragon god of magic.

So yes a half-deity dragon angel with fire powers I know they're OP I know but also have you seen Sascha canonically.

Trauma in their backstory, because ofc. When they were young, they fell under the control of another aasimar, Symeon, child of Tyr, who in turn served Michael, who claimed to be the avatar of Sune. Symeon was charming and manipulative, and Sascha, then calling themself Myca, fell pretty quickly under his influence. It wasn't a great time.

Had a sweet romance with Ilias, child of Silvanus. Ilias died during the Spellplague. Myca changed their name to Sascha and. Hardened themself off somewhat.

Present day, a powerful sorcerer/wizard who regularly looks in on places like Blackstaff Academy, using illusion magic to hide their wings and stuff.

Secret! Netherese! Cultist!

Has a fascination with illithid technology. It's so visceral. Why is the damn ship crashing why can't they examine the meat crimes more :-\

Immediately takes charge with their OP charisma. General play vibes are like, pragmatic and not very sentimental, but does try to take care of their coterie.

Mostly fascinated with Gale, another powerful and ambitious mage with a connection to Netherese magic. Definitely encourages him to seek out his sorcerer side (he'll end up multiclassing Storm Sorcery) and, uh, the Crown but also with an eye to maybe? using it themself?

Wary about the Dream Visitor. Does not like having their mind fucked with. On the other hand, very open to using illithid powers, although by the time they get the astral-touched tadpole they're already too negative about the Emperor to agree.

Major decisions, act 1: We are straight-out skipping the druids/tiefling/goblin conflict! (Or, well, AFAIK you can't avoid the fight at the gate, but otherwise they're going to do that, trade with Arron, talk to whatshisname who had the run-in with the githyanki, then go "yeah this isn't my business" and leave.) Won't be recruiting Wyll, Karlach, or Halsin, and the tieflings are fucked, I'm sorry everyone ;_; Might end up entering the Goblin Camp just for more info on this True Soul/Absolute business, but staying steadfastedly Not Involved, then heading on to the Mountain Pass and the creche. Obviously that'll go poorly, although Sascha is still going to be like, yeah, the one in the Prism is shifty, sure, I'll kill them. So that'll put a dampener on any potential relationship!

Act 2: I am… actually not sure how to navigate the Shadow-Cursed Lands here, without getting the lyre from either Minthara or Nere, or attacking the convoy. Hm. Might just have to do a straight shot for Moonrise. AFAIK Minthara can be rescued here and Sascha is just "yeah fine why not". Largely skipping the Last Light, so no Jaheira, and, later, no Minsc, so final team will be Sascha, Gale, Astarion, Shadowheart, Lae'zel, and Minthara. Does the Gauntlet for Shadowheart's sake, but will encourage her not to kill their fellow aasimar, so at least someone is getting a good end XD;; Okay they don't seem to like many other aasimar so, uh, sorry Aylin. Otherwise, makes themself at home at Moonrise and wreaks havoc while they're not looking while in the process of Learning Everything. And, uh, the Shadow Curse is not getting lifted, although tbh I think that was a given since I'm pretty sure Halsin dies if you don't get involved with the Grove-Goblin conflict ;_;

Act 3: Learning about the Emperor - they fuckin' knew it -_- When they meet Raphael later, doesn't agree to the deal, but does plan to steal the hammer instead. They want that crown for their bae, okay.

Character arcs: Gale - go for the crown, babe, I'll hold your flower. Shadowheart - she's already turned from Shar, let's just complete the process. Encourages her to let her parents go. Okay maybe she will go Dark Justiciar :| Astarion - …tragically I think they'd encourage Ascension I'm so sorry Astarion bby. Sascha is just, "Get revenge! Fuckin' eat him!" Lae'zel - reject Vlaakith, free Orpheus - although that's in part to spite the Emperor tbh. Don't know what's happening with Minthara, I guess we'll find out!

Endgame: Once they have the stones, have Orpheus turn illithid. Ultimately, destroy the Netherbrain, then encourage Gale to get the crown and become a god. For the epilogue, become a god alongside him. This won't go badly at all!

On the plus side, if I'm doing God!Gale romance here, I might be able to skip one of the several Astarion runs I have planned, and just do the "they actually do make each other better this time" run?

What is Red Revenge?

Basically, it's a WW2 superhero story that actually goes into alternate history instead of pretending modern day would be unchanged from the real world after all these events and despite all these supernatural and superscientific elements.

I can't think of anything to compare it to. Über? The Specialists? There is also some inspiration from Inglourious Basterds. But Red Revenge is not as gory as Über or Basterds, the aforementioned inspiration i don't mean Tarantino's voyeuristic gore. Also nobody is as OP as Über's supersoldiers. Still, it's obviously very dark.

It's supposed to become a webcomic eventually. I've seen writing advice that tells you to make incorrect quotes, playlists, moodboards, etc. about your characters to get a hang of them, which is what i'm doing on this blog. I'm also still workign on the character designs. Researching armies, history, involved real people, and the weather so your alternste history that spans over a decade is realistic is a lot of work and takes a really long time (even withiut indecisiveness and procastination). While the unrealistic elements are the point of divergence, i want the events unfolding from their presence (and other interference) to be realistic and make sense. I need to do other stuff besides research every once in a while too.

Tom Handschin/Carmine Avenger is the main character, a young german antifascist whose adoptive father Hans Leonhardt is murdered by the nazis in 1940 when they're found in Paris. Tom becomes sort of a superhero, though he's propably more similiar to the pulp characters The Shadow and The Spider. Like them, he doesn't have any superpowers. He's also autistic and gay ace, like me. I might change his name to Red Avenger.

Like The Shadow, Tom has a bunch of other people working for him. The most developed ones, whom i've already mentioned on this blog, are Emese Nacht/Pine, Horst Dießl/Crow, and Arthur Tangemann/Star. They all have single-word codenames that are supposed to look like legit surnames.

Sascha Schwinghammer, Basti Brandt, and Karl Barbier are Hans' friends and compatriots who are alive (at least for the time being), Renate Brandt is Basti's wife and Hannah Barbier is Karl's wife (Hannah, Karl, and Sascha are secretly all together). Hans, Sascha, Basti, and Karl are all disabled WWI veterans, they met during WWI, remained in contact, and opposed the nazis together.

Detlev Herr is Tom's former friend from the orphanage and a current frenemy. The frenemy thing is because Detlev joined the communist party in the late 1920s and believed KPD's narrative that all non-KPD leftists are evil. And since Tom is an anti-USSR and anti-KPD socialist...

The other superheroes of Red Revenge, besides Tom, are the generically superhuman Louisa Kinge/The Catalyst, pretty low-level psychic dhampir Miyako Hasuike/Wisteria Woman, the hydrokinetic and potential nixie Tadpole, the vampire Noah Ashford/Grey Howler, and generically superhuman Orville Holm/Freedom Fighter.

The main villains of Red Revenge are, obviously, a group of nazi supervillains; their leader The Lightbearer, the robot soldier Living Inferno, speedster Falk Bernhardt Rot/Thunderlight, telekinetic Adele Siemon/The Maiden, and hydrokinetic maybe-nixie/human hybrid Romano Marchegiano, generically superhuman Byron Ashford, and sniper Jan Messer who i don't have codename ideas for yet. The Lightbearer's girlfriends Gretchen Wagner and Kreszentia Glasner might also get mentioned. I've already decided how and when all these people die, at least tentatively.

(Yes, Noah and Byron are related. There's a whole british upper class family drama with them)

For a number of years now, the Nassaudag has been held on the second day of Pentecost to commemorate the connection between Breda and the Nassau's.

The bond between the Nassau House and the Netherlands came into being in 1403. Count Engelbrecht I of Nassau married Johanna van Polanen, wife of Breda, in that year. Due to their growing family ownership, Bredase Nassaus quickly became one of the highest nobles in our country. They were also given increasingly important functions by the Dukes of Burgundy and Habsburg, which ruled large parts of the Netherlands as landlords. Count Henry III of Nassau (1483-1538), for example, held high civil and military offices. He was also involved in the education of Emperor Charles V. The Nassaus lived for one hundred and fifty years at the Castle of Breda. In this period they provided the impetus for Breda's prosperity and brought the city to development. The nobility who lived on the Castle of Breda worked as a magnet on the art sector, jewellery, design and architecture.

If you think of the Nassaus, you think of the royal house. The House of Orange-Nassau was first mentioned in 1544. William I, Count of Nassau-Dillenburg (1533-1584) - better known as William of Orange or William of Silence - then inherited the Southern French principality of Orange from his nephew René of Chalon (officially René Count of Nassau and Prince of Chalon-Orange). As Prince William he is the ancestor of the House of Orange-Nassau. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wie aan de Nassaus denkt, denkt aan het koningshuis. Het Huis Oranje-Nassau werd voor het eerst genoemd in 1544. Willem I, graaf van Nassau-Dillenburg (1533-1584) – beter bekend als Willem van Oranje of Willem de Zwijger – erfde toen het Zuid-Franse prinsdom Orange van zijn neef René van Chalon (officieel René graaf van Nassau en prins van Chalon-Oranje). Als prins Willem is hij de stamvader van het Huis Oranje-Nassau.

European Hyperloop Center - Foto: Yorick Meijdam Photography Hyperloop Development Program Het EHC maakt deel uit van het Hyperloop Development Program (HDP): een publiek-private samenwerking van meer dan 25 partners om de hyperlooptechnologie verder te ontwikkelen. De hyperloopbuizen zijn gemaakt van staal ontwikkeld door POSCO (Zuid-Korea) in samenwerking met Tata Steel (NL), zijn samengesteld tot volledig voorgefabriceerde hyperloopbuizen door aannemer Mercon (NL), en geïnstalleerd door infrastructuurbedrijf Denys (België). In totaal zijn meer dan 50 bedrijven betrokken geweest bij de realisatie van de testinfrastructuur. Meerdere hyperlooptechnologiebedrijven maken deel uit van het HDP, waaronder EuroTube (Zwitserland), Hardt Hyperloop (NL), Nevomo (Polen) en Zeleros (Spanje). Het HDP heeft financiële support van de Europese Commissie, de Nederlandse regering, en de provincie Groningen. Onderdeel van Europese Onderzoeks-Infrastructuur Cluster Om de technische vooruitgang van het hyperloop-ecosysteem te versnellen, is het European Hyperloop Center een open hyperloop-testfaciliteit. Alle bedrijven zijn welkom en hebben de mogelijkheid om hun technologieën in deze infrastructuur te testen. Het European Hyperloop Center maakt ook deel uit van een Europese Onderzoeks-Infrastructuur Cluster samen met de hyperlooptestfaciliteit in Zwitserland, DemoTube (120 meter), van hyperloopontwikkelaar EuroTube. Het combineren van de resultaten van beide hyperlooptestfaciliteiten versnelt de voortgang in de ontwikkeling van de hyperloop. Technische vooruitgang Door de technische progressie van de hyperloop is er wereldwijd een toename van de interesse voor implementatie. In Italië is onlangs een haalbaarheidsstudie gestart naar een hyperloop-pilotroute. In India zijn ze van plan om in 2026 een hyperloop-pilot uit te voeren. Op continentaal niveau heeft de Europese Commissie voorgesteld om hyperloop op te nemen in het TEN-T-beleid, met steun van het Europees Parlement. Dit beleid is gericht op het verbeteren van de connectiviteit tussen de Europese lidstaten. De hyperloop heeft veelbelovende voordelen. De infrastructuur is naar schatting goedkoper in vergelijking met hogesnelheidslijnen.

De ruimtelijke inpassing van de hyperloop wordt eenvoudiger geacht in vergelijking met andere soorten infrastructuur. Ten slotte wordt het energieverbruik van reizen met een hyperloop 10x lager geschat vergeleken met reizen met de auto of het vliegtuig.

De Vertrekthrillers gaan over mensen die alles achterlaten en in t buitenland n nieuw bestaan opbouwen. Zo ook Sacha. De cover is mooi en zonnig. Je waant je in Spanje. 't verhaal wordt verteld vanuit verschillende personen. Wat even wennen is. De ene x Sacha en de andere x Maria n bewoonster die op onderzoek uitgaat om de misstanden in het resort te onderzoeken. Ook de zwerver Dario komt voorbij. Alle verhalen komen uiteindelijk samen. De schrijfstijl is prettig en beeldend. Het verhaal is opgebouwd uit niet te lange hoofdstukken. Ieder hoofdstuk vanuit een ander perspectief. De spanning wordt langzaam opgebouwd. Naar mijn smaak iets te langzaam. Het laatste deel is wel spannend met een plottwist die je niet zo 123 ziet aankomen. Jammer dat het verhaal dan erg snel ten einde komt. Al met al een heerlijk en vlot geschreven boek die je door wilt blijven lezen. Ik wil zeker meer van haar lezen. 3.5 ⭐ ............ Auteur: Marelle heeft heel wat thrillers op haar naam staan, waaronder een aantal bestsellers zoals Ik volg je en Vals alarm. Haar eerste thrillers gaan voornamelijk over actuele misstanden, vaak gebaseerd op waargebeurde verhalen van slachtoffers. ............ Inhoud: Het is Sascha gelukt om haar twee passies te combineren: haar voorliefde voor Spanje en haar drijfveer om voor anderen te zorgen. Ze krijgt een droombaan in n resort in de zonnige stad Sevilla. Haar baas vindt haar meer dan leuk, en dat hun liefde geheim moet blijven geeft n extra spanning aan hun relatie. Dan valt er n dode in het resort. Tacking onto that one anon’s point about a bunch of baby vamps in the 2nd-4th generation range, I’m pretty sure they’d feed just fine on regular humans for good few centuries. The Thirst of Ages doesn’t seem to kick in until they’re positively ancient after all. Take the First City for example, Caine and his brood survived using regular humans, and the Antediluvians didn’t really need vampiric vitae until after the flood ended, although I’m not sure on how much of that was actually needing to versus how much of it was simply a developed addiction to diablerie considering that was the only food they had. But I will concede that the balance would promptly fall apart immediately once the newbies learned of the sheer power they possessed, and I feel like that’d be hilarious to watch. Let’s see Lacroix or Thomas Arturo try to handle a baby 3rd Generation and their pissed off 2nd Gen Sire.

Oh yeah, it's possible. I kind of... play around with blood needs depending on the character, honestly. Like a newly-Embraced 5th gen Mithras could feed on animals no problem, but his blood requirements intensified over time (especially after diablerising his way down to 4th), but Sascha, at 6th, can still get by with humans. Ilias, conversely, went from 8th to being remade as 4th, and woke up with this hunger he had never faced before.

Anyway the shenanigans of ridiculously OP fledglings are just fun to play with. I wanted to do a bit of that with the Baby Methuselah game!
