I had this idea where y/n is an Avenger and has the power to shape shift her appearance to look however she wants. She doesn't use her real name, and when she's with the avengers she always looks like a really tall and fit beautiful woman, so everyone just assumes that's how she really looks. She gets along with everyone except for Loki who's oddly cold towards her and they kind of bicker a lot. He doesn't know why, but he just has a feeling in his gut that she's hiding something, so he doesn't trust her like everyone else does. Then one day when out in the city, maybe at a library or cafe, Loki bumps into y/n without any disguise on, and she looks the opposite of how she always makes herself look around the avengers, so Loki doesn't even recognise her. Knowing he doesn't recognise her, she doesnt tell loki who she is and instead she tells him her real name, pretending to be strangers, and over time the two bond and become really close, because she's being more herself without her disguise on and loki grows to trust her and fall for her. But just as he's about to confess his feelings one day, he somehow finds out y/n is the same woman as the shape-shifting avenger, and he feels betrayed and hurt that she hid that from him all this time. She has to finally confess everything to loki that she was always really insecure about her appearance so chose to always shape-shift into someone more beautiful 99% of the time, thinking no one would ever like the real her, and when loki accidentally bumped into the real her, she thought he'd never like someone who looked like her as more than a friend, so kept up the lie in the hopes at least the beautiful avenger version of herself might one day have a shot with him 🥺

You looked in the mirror, closing your eyes you concentrated feeling the change wash over you making you shiver. No matter how many times you had done it you would never get used to the feeling. Opening your eyes meeting familiar but different ones, you pushed your long purple hair back over your shoulder, the baggy clothes now snug against your tall frame. You reached up, stretching and bending as you adjusted to this form "well, time to face the day." You said smiling at the person in the mirror before walking to the door heading towards the kitchen.

You walked in seeing it empty making you release the breath you were holding. Relishing in the silence you grabbed a bowl form the cabinet filling it with cereal, turning to the fridge you leaned over grabbing the milk jumping as you stood up "Holy shit Loki!' You yelled seeing the god had appeared out of nowhere. "Apologies, did I catch you off guard...amethyst." He sneered walking around you. "You just startled me is all." You smiled returning to your bowl. "What are your plans today?" You asked offering him a smile "I do not believe that is your concern." He snarked putting the kettle on the stove "what is your problem?" You asked slamming the milk on the counter. You stood your ground as he turned to you meeting your eyes, this form only slightly shorter then him "I simply do not see why you want to know...we are not friends." He said crossing his arms.

You sighed looing down "Loki, I've tried to get to know you but you don't make it easy." You said grabbing the milk putting it back "because I don't trail after you as my brother does, or because I don't fawn over you as the captain does?" He asked tilting his chin up "I've only ever wanted to be friends with you Loki but you refuse!" You said slamming the fridge closed "I do not need any friends, especially ones such as you." He sneered "what is that supposed to mean?" You asked crossing your arms "you may have the others under your spell, but I am not fooled as easily." He said stepping forward "there is...something you are hiding, something the others don't know." He said staring into your eyes. You swallowed hard trying to avoid his gaze "I don't know what.." he cut you off "yes...please try to lie to me." He smiled making your nervous. "Forget it, I have to go." You said stepping around him towards the hall.

"Oh, hello lady amethyst." Thor said stepping into the room "Hey Thor." You said quickly walking past him. "Brother, what did you do?" Thor asked stepping up to the counter "you assume it was me?' He asked arching his eyebrows "loki, everyone knows you don't like her, which is puzzling." Thor laughed sitting down "and why is that?" Loki asked grabbing a mug "because, she is tall, beautiful, the exact type you would have bedded many times on Asgard." Thor smiled seeing Loki roll his eyes "there is something off about her, she's hiding something." Loki said sternly. "I do not trust her." He continued as the kettle screamed "you do not trust anyone brother, give her a chance." Thor said standing leaving the room. Loki looked at the clock slamming his cup down "norns, now I am going to be late." He said quickly hurrying to his room.

You adjusted your dress, stuffing your other outfit into your bag unlocking the stall. Walking to the sink you checked your phone seeing Loki was going to be there anytime. "Ok...everything is fine." You closed your eyes taking a deep breath, opening your eyes meeting familiar ones. "Welcome back." You said to yourself fluffing your hair. Pulling your skirt down covering as much as the dress allowed you grabbed your bag walking out into the Cafe. You looked around, releasing a breath seeing Loki wasn't there yet you walked up to the counter ordering your usual caramel machiotto and his earl grey tea. Grabbing the cups you made your way through the Cafe to your usual booth feeling everyone's eyes on you. You sighed, taking a seat setting his cup across from you as you rubbed your temples.

This was your usual spot when you needed an escape from the tower, where you could be another faceless person in the crowd. No one knew who you were, what you could do. And after Thor and Loki moved into the tower it became essential. You had wanted nothing more then to get to know Loki, the way he carried himself, his velvet soft hair you wanted to wrap your fingers in, his laugh that made your heart flutter at the sound only intensified the evergrowing feelings you had for him. But no matter how many men oogled you as "amethyst", loki wouldnt give you the time of day. It was puzzling watching him flirt with other women at Tony's parties while completely ignoring your existance, until the arguments began. You had grown accustomed to his coldness towards you but something had changed, everytime you were in the same room he had a snarky comment, a rude remark ready to sling at a moments notice and if you were honest it broke your heart.

Four months ago, after a rather nasty argument with Loki you came here to deflate, to try to pull yourself together. Ordering your coffee you turned only to run into the one man you were trying to get away from. You craned your neck looking up at him, your original form being considerably shorter "my apologies, I wasn't watching where I was going." He smiled down at you grabbing your elbow to steady you "oh i..its ok, really. No harm done." You smiled up at him noticing he hadn't let go of your arm "my name is Loki." He smiled releasing your elbow holding his hand out. You stared at it for a minute before slowly reaching out "y/n, my names y/n." You smiled as he leaned down kissing the back of it. "If I may be so bold, are you here with anyone?" He asked straightening "n..no, I'm on my own...you?" You asked shifting back and forth "I am as well, I needed to get away for a while." He said. "Well, you could join me...if you want to." You said seeing him smile. "I would love to." He said following you to your booth. You shook your head, clearing the memory when the bell above the door rang and a head of dark curls walked in.

"My apologies darling, had a bit of an issue at work." He smiled sitting down. "It's ok Loki, I ordered your tea." You smiled looking down "you are my hero dove." He said sipping his drink. You looked up at him, his bright green eyes shining at you like stars in the night sky. You wanted to tell him, everything in you wanted to yell the truth at him, tell him who you really were but you knew it would make him hate you and you couldnt lose him. He hated amethyst, of course he would hate you too. "Is something wrong darling?" He asked pulling you out of your thoughts "no, no I'm fine, what happened at work?" You asked changing the subject. "Oh it was nothing, we have a team member, amethyst and I simply do not trust her." He said making you cringe. "Oh, why is that?" You asked fidgeting with your cup "everyone trusts her implicitly, but there is something, I can't quite place it but I will figure it out." He said sipping his tea

"enough about me, tell me about your day darling." He smiled leaning forward on the table. You did your best to swallow your heartache he didnt trust you as you sipped your coffee "Well, nothing too exciting honeslty, i..." you were cut off by his phone ringing "sorry dear one second." He said looking down at the screen "I am very sorry but I have been called on a mission so I must go." He said standing up. You stood with him as he tucked his phone back in his pocket "I should be back in a couple of days, I will call you as soon as I return." He smiled "ok, be careful please." You said, stepping forward wrapping your arms around him "I will darling, do not worry." He said hugging you back. You closed your eyes, listening to the steady beat of his heart knowing this was the only way you would ever be this close to him.

He pulled back holding your arms "I will see you soon." He said grabbing his cup as he walked out of the shop. You flopped back down in the booth sighing "your a coward y/n." You said to yourself as your phone buzzed, pulling it out seeing it was Steve telling you you were paired with Loki on a mission leaving in twenty. "Fuck!" You yelled, throwing your phone in your bag you looked up seeing everyone staring at you "sorry." You said grabbing your things your quickly made your way back to the tower wishing you could brake your leg on the way.

"Loki, where are you!?" You yelled into the coms, stabbing another agent as he lunged at you. "Worry about yourself agent." He sneered into the earpiece. "We are supposed to be working together loki!" You yelled, quickly shifting into a snake as another group of agents ran in "I do not work with liars." You heard as you slithered away from the earpiece. "Hey, ever seen a purple snake?" You head one of them ask, lifting your head seeing them all looking at you you closed your eyes shifted again, this time turning into the hulk...well a purple one. "Shit!" One of them yelled as you barreled at them, knocking them through the wall into the other room before stumbling back. You hated shifting into something this large, it took too much energy to maintain but with Loki a no show you didn't have a choice. You leaned on a desk, trying to catch your breath hearing footsteps running into the room "amethyst?" You heard Loki's voice making you turn. You closed your eyes, slowly shifting back to your alias as he walked into the now destroyed room.

"Um, you may want to.." he trailed off looking away waving his hand. You looked down in shock remembering when you shifted earlier you left your clothes in the corner. You quickly walked over, stepping into your suit, zipping it up you teetered to the side holding your head "what is wrong with you?" He snapped walking towards you "n..nothing...mm fine." You mumbled grabbing the folder you had come for "just tell me." He said grabbing your arm "why? It's not like you give a shit." You snapped turning back to him seeing two of him. "I do not want the team to think I have done something to you." He said releasing you "yes, c..cause it's all about you." You said, feeling tears well in your eyes "if it were up to you, you would let me die wouldn't you?" You snarked, stepping nose to nose with him when you heard something behind you.

You felt him grab your shoulders, trying to move you when a loud bang sounded through the room. A sharp pain shot through your back making you gasp and arch into him gripping his arms when he turned you holding you to him as he threw a dagger across the room with the other. "L..loki...what..." you stuttered, trying to reach behind you "amethyst, look at me." He said sternly making you look up. "You will be fine, we're going back to the jet." He said quietly staring into your eyes "n..no, y..you go." You said shakely feeling your knees buckle "no, we go together." He said stenrly pulling your arm over his shoulder. "Close your eyes." He said. Doing as he asked you looked down feeling a lurching feeling in your stomach before he began to pull you forward "we are almost there." He said. You looked up seeing the jet in front of you

"l..loki." you gasped, pain radiating through your chest as you stumbled forward hitting your knees on the ground "no, get up." He said pulling your arm "i...I can't." You breathed feeling the familiar tingle in your body, dread filling you at what was about to happen "l..leave me!" You urged trying to pull free "no, you will get up now." He said sternly pulling you to your feet when your knees gave out again. "Your going to make me carry you aren't you?" He snarked, reaching behind your knees lifting you up "i..I'm sorry." You rushed out feeling your lungs tighten "it was only an argument, it is..." you cut him off "n..no...i...I'm sorry f..for..." you tried to take a breath in but it felt like there was a weight on your chest "stop talking, reserve your energy." He said walking up the ramp to the jet, laying you on a gurney you felt him pull the straps around you as your body began to change.

"Y...y/n?" He said shakely. You opened your eyes looking up at him seeing shock written across his face. You lifted your arm, seeing your fingers and hand were no longer thin and slender. "Loki.." you whispered feeling tears in your eyes when he stepped back "w..what is this? Have you been following me? How did you..." he trailed "n..no, I...I didn't..." You said grabbing your chest "i..." you gasped looking to the ceiling seeing black spots floating in your vision "you will explain when we return." He said sternly placing an oxygen mask on you. You looked up trying to memorize his face as your eyes slowly closed.

You opened your eyes, the bright light above you making you squint when you tried to lift your arm, a clang drawing your attention when you glanced down seeing a handcuff around your wrist and attached to the bar on the gurney. "What the.." you started when someone cleared their throat, looking up seeing Tony bringing a chair over sitting down next to you "so, what's the story?" He asked crossing his arms sitting back. You sighed, trying to sit up, wincing at the pain in your back "my name is y/n, I was born with the ability to shift into whatever from I chose." You said looking down "I chose amethyst, because.." you trailed off waving your free hand over yourself "amethyst is tall, beautiful, desirable...y/n is...not." whispering the last part you saw Tony shift in his seat. "Prove it, shift to amethyst." He said watching you intently. You closed your eyes focusing feeling the tingle run through you, opening them seeing Tony nodding "tell me something only you would know." He said glaring.

You sighed looking down again "two years ago you were in the lab late at night, you fell asleep at your desk and Clint snuck in with a permanent marker and drew a..." he cut you off "ok ok, your you, but kid why did you lie?" He asked "I just thought, If no one wanted the real me, maybe they would want this." You said waving your arm again. "Amet...y/n, your beautiful the way you are, you don't need to hide yourself." He said making you laugh. "W..where is Loki?" You asked looking up "in his room I think, he hasn't come out since you got back a few days ago." He said as you nodded. "I'll go get Bruce and see when you can go to your room." He said standing up unlocking the cuffs. "Thanks Tony." You said seeing him smile as he walked out.

Bruce had cleared you to go back to your room, making sure you didn't do anything strenuous or he would make you come back. You tentatively agreed and were sent on your way. You spent the next couple of days in your room, trying to rest but your conscience was eating you alive. Everytime you closed your eyes you saw the look on Loki's face as you laid on that gurney, the betrayal written on his face as he watched you shift. You sat up, seeing it was past two am and decided it would be safe to go for a snack. You got up, slipping your robe on you looked in the mirror, taking a deep breath as you walked to the door going out for the first time as yourself.

You walked into the kitchen freezing seeing Loki sitting at the counter sipping tea. You started to back up, heading back to your room when his voice caught your attention "you do not have to leave, I'm going." He said standing up not looking at you as he placed his cup in the sink "l..loki wait, please." You asked as he proceeded to walk past you as if you weren't there "loki...please just listen." You pleaded grabbing his arm as he pulled it from you "listen to what? How you lied to me..manipulated me in to caring for you?" He snapped taking step towards you "n...no, I didn't mean..." he cut you off with another step "didn't what, mean to get caught? How long was your plan to last hmm?" He asked, his eyes boring into you "no! Loki please.." you trailed off taking a step back "it wasn't like that." You said wrapping your arms around yourself "oh it wasn't? Then pray tell what was it about?" He asked crossing his arms.

You took a deep breath looking into his eyes "i...I wanted to tell you...so many times I wanted to." You said feeling your eyes burn "but i...I was a coward, yes I lied...yes I hid it from you but..." you trailed off looking down "when you look like this...you would kill to be anyone else." You said. "When you first came here I liked you, like alot." You huffed a laugh wiping your cheek "and I saw the women you flirted with and I knew..." you said looking up seeing his eyes soften "I would never have a chance. Im not thin, or pretty or what they are...so yes I lied...I kept up the illusion hoping maybe one day she would have a shot." You laughed feeling a tear run down your cheek. "And when I ran into you at the coffee shop I panicked, I wanted to say something but you were so nice, and kind and just...perfect" you whispered looking down at your feet. "I didn't want to lose that, to lose you." You said.

"I'm sorry I deceived you, I never meant to hurt you I just...I knew we would never be more then friends and I would rather have you as a friend then not at all." You said shifting back and forth "but I understand if you don't want to be around me anymore, I'll leave you alone." You said quickly walking past him, wanting to be in your room as quick as possible when you felt his hand wrap around your arm "wait...there is something you should see." He said gently turning you around. "You are not the only one hiding y/n." He whispered. You watched him close his eyes, his hands sliding down to yours gripping them tightly. His fingers felt like ice as you looked down seeing his hands turn blue, the color traveling up his arm "loki...what..." you trailed off looking up as his the pale skin of his face turned blue, ridges raising across his smooth skin when he opened his eyes.

"This is me y/n, the real me." He said, his bright red eyes studying you as you stepped closer. "I am not asgardian like my brother, I am jotun...a frost giant...deemed a monster." He said looking down "I was lied to my entire life by the man who raised me to hate my own kind, that they were beasts. So, I hid behind my own illusion not letting anyone see me, because i believed no one could ever love what i am." He said looking down at your joined hands "but, your beautiful." You said as his eyes met yours "so are you dove?" He smiled reaching up cupping your cheek.

"If I am being honest, I was enchanted with you the moment I ran into you. Your smile, your bright beautiful eyes, your wit... you are more beautiful then you know." He said smiling "and the day i was called away...we were called away, I was going to ask if you would allow me to court you." He said taking another step forward, his chest pressing to yours "so y/n, will you do me the honor of being mine?" He asked. "I would love nothing more Loki." You smiled leaning into his touch. "May I do something I have wanted to do since I met you?" He asked leaning his face closer to yours "y..yes..." you breathed feeling his lips gently brush yours, it was soft and perfect but you needed more.

You leaned up into him, reaching a hand into his hair you deepened the kiss, nipping at his bottom lip with your teeth hearing him groan, feeling his lips parts you slipped your tongue past them, exploring his mouth feeling his hand wrap around the back of your head, his other sliding around your waist pulling you onto him. You pulled back slightly panting pressing your forehead to his "that was better then I imagined." He whispered making you laugh. "So, would you like to join me for coffee tomorrow?" You asked looking up into his eyes "yes, I would like that very much." He said smiling. "Allow me to walk you to your room." He said lacing his fingers with yours he guided you down the hall, stopping in front of your door he brought your hand to his lips kissing the back of it. "Goodnight y/n, I will see you in the morning." He said releasing your hand making you immediately miss his touch.

"Ok, see you then." You said opening your door slowly walking in. You looked around the dark room, your heart already missing him you looked back seeing him start down the hall "Loki.." you called out watching him turn back with a smile "yes dove?" He asked stepping closer. "Fuck it." You whispered gripping the front of his shirt you drug him to you, latching your lips to his as he let you pull him inside kicking the door closed behind him. For the first time in your life you were never happier to just be you...

THERES SO MUCH THIS FANDOM GETS WRONGG her internalized misogyny and body issues that were never touched on.... it makes me so angry. and i dont see anyone ever exploring that. maybe one day ill write something. she has so many issues that no one ever talks about and how she wants to feel pretty. people who call her a pick me are so wrong and dont even know what a pick me is.

their first birthday as a "family" is baby's seventh, where jesse's only known demi for like 5 months and doesnt know what the rules are for something like this, but hes saved from any awkward questions by demi calling him like (royal advisor going door to door to every person in the kingdom to invite them to the ball) "baby would like to see u if then if that's ok." of course its ok, but now he's gotta get her a present!! hes still getting the hang of carving and woodworking in a more professional, advanced sense and decides to practice his new skills by carving her a little dolphin that looks like the stuffed one she's always carrying around. theres no birthday party like the kind he remembers from childhood ("baby's not very. Into that kind of thing," demi says charitably later when he asks her about it. which Is true), just him and demi and mason having dinner at ihop before going back home for some gifts and a "the spongebob movie" viewing party. baby doesnt make much of a fuss but shes Very excited to open her presents and when she opens jesse's gift, she gets more excited and animated than hes ever seen her before as she describes each of the dolphin's fins to him and then (following a gentle "what do u say?" from demi) thanks him with a little hug of his arm. because of her joyful reaction, he carves her a sea creature for every birthday going forward and is now giving her a tiny wood barracuda for her collection as he and demi make the long drive up to fairbanks to visit baby at school for her twentieth birthday!! they're going to spend the weekend with her :) and though they dont say anything significant about it, they're both really happy that when they go back to their hotel this evening, baby is going to be spending time with some of her new college friends to celebrate :') shes kind of ambivalent as always about "turning" twenty and still doesnt really feel like an adult or anything close, but she does feel more comfortable and content about moving forward this birthday more so than any other beforehand. twenty feels like a big number and shes not as scared or lonely or anxious as she thought she'd be

god, au squared fam.....Au Squared Fam. this is literally the first time jesse's able to actually physically be there with baby on her birthday other than like. the Day of her birth. after missing the first two due to rehab and Being A Slave. he almost doesnt know what to do because its really just the three of them, they've made some tentative acquaintances here in alaska since arriving, but neither of them have families anymore and baby's fully three and thus doesnt Know anyone, so its almost like. what do u do?? he rarely lets baby out of his sight anyway, how's her birthday going to be any different?? demi convinces him to throw a little party in their kitchen to at least set the Tone and even though its just some streamers and balloons and a little grocery store bakery cake with some questionably accurate sesame street characters piped onto it, it really does make the occasion feel festive. they both feel like things might be ok :) baby doesnt really comprehend the Significance and freaks the fuck out when they light the "3" shaped candle (thats fire!! in the house!!), but she has a good time and is stoked to see elmo on a cake and plays "bap the air-filled balloon around the living room" with her parents for a solid 2 hours. its all so beautifully mundane, so normal and safe and quiet. jesse knows that baby doesnt really understand what birthdays mean and that he wasnt there for her first two (only that he Wasnt There in general for a while), but he can't help feeling periodically guilty and overwhelmed and just holding onto her so nothing can ever separate them again. and present day au squared baby is having a sweet sixteen!! just a tiny one (and no car, the dyspraxia still reigns in this universe) in their backyard, which is decorated, and baby and her friends are all dressed up so they can take fun pictures. demi sets out tons of flowers and jesse gets a baby shower cake that says "congratulations on the baby!" for the Bit, which baby honestly loves. she knows why hes so All In about her birthday and being a good dad in general, so she takes a second to tell him that she loves him and always will no matter what :')

but, and you can correct me if im wrong, i think im understanding you here when you say 'mistress' or 'sir', because of the fact when she is more dominant, its paired with the 'mommy' thing. she doesnt typically get written with a hard dom edge. theres always some aspect of softness, is how im taking that.

which is true, ive seen that. and i might derail a bit from your personal point and maybe even the common theme that ive seen so far . . . but i dont know if anyone else feels this way, but cumulus and sunshine, to me, dont feel like ghouls who typically enjoy that hard edge (at least in my personal hc). i would group mist and aurora in that category, with cirrus somewhere in that middle ground.

i totally get wanting to see that from a ghoulette like lus, due to the fact she's not the type of character people would 'assume' would act that way. its very easy to say we should write characters in protest or in opposition to the roles most commonly assigned to them. but i also want to offer the idea that maybe we're just doing the same thing but in reverse. im of the belief that its perfectly okay to write feminine characters with feminine stereotypes, so long as those traits are balanced with other elements of their character.

again, i completely understand wanting to see her in different roles, especially bc people who look like lus are literally all shades of different from each other. AND that the prevailing characterization of lus tends to sway in one pinpointed direction, which isnt good either. AND AND that you could literally have all kinds of ideas about who cumulus is to you, and its technically correct. all we know is how these ghouls act on stage. we dont have actual plot and things to critique like a show or movie would. we're critiquing each other, which many a time ends up as a critique of the greater societal stereotypes and ideas about fat women. which is valid. and i know im rambling and this is more of what i specifically want to talk about in another (even longer lmao) post.

YES!! unfortunately i got. very tired after making this so this is only one hair type :( was gonna go into all the different types of hair textures but. i will just have to do that later. also keep in mind i drew this in like. 7 minutes its just a simple guide to get out the basic steps

^i didn't put music in this so. listen to whatever u want while ur watching this (its 6 minutes 40 seconds). also its slightly sped up this isn't real speed

elaboration of each step under read more:

step 0: look at other hair tutorials/pictures of real hair to figure out how light reflects off of them. then completely disregard that and just make things up (this is the best artistic process trust me i do it every day)

step 1: just get out that basic shape. it doesnt have to be anything fancy,

step 2: just fill it in and adjust the shape as needed

step 3: figure out how the hair moves and flows, which parts go out more (highlights), which parts are closer to the head (shadows/base), etc. i highly recommend just looking at pictures of hair online, or taking pictures of your own hair. for coily/curly hair, you just kind of have to do this for each curl/coil. one thing to keep in mind the highlight is in the middle of the curl/coil and the shadows are on the edges (usually). i'll elaborate more on that once i have an actual video for it

step 4: just make it so the edges of the highlights transition a bit more smoothly into the base color. it just helps for later steps tbh. try not to over do it, don't want to completely get rid of the highlight, just soften it

step 5: add more highlights with thinner brush. this should be where the light would bounce off the hair the MOST. i think i forgot to say in the video uhhh add in some base value too. maybe a few shadows. mostly this step is for highlights tho.

step 6: idk what else to put here sorry. ngl just get silly with it

step 7: it is very important to do one stroke per area in this one. do not lift your pen off the screen/tablet/whatever until the little area youre working on is one smooth transparent shade, then move on to the next. idk if i'm explaining this right hopefully this makes sense.

step 8: complete opposite as step seven. make as many strokes as you feel it needs. not TOO many, just enough to get some texture and then some yk? i recommend making a copy of the layer youre working on before doing this so that if you mess something up you can always go back to square one.

also a lot of these steps apply to pretty much any hair type just. in a completely different shape with completely different rules. which is to say its exactly like this but it actually isn't like this at all. which is why i plan on making other videos some day (hopefully) also look up "hair texture chart" it will help you find the words you need to look up good refs

remember: always get silly with it. the only rule to to make things up and change your mind 400 times. bring a 'fuck it, we ball' mentality to your art program that the haters (your brain) really won't like. practice makes perfect and all that, do NOT expect to get something good first try, sometimes i still struggle with drawing hair in a way that i like and just scrap the whole thing. also i'm not kidding about those real hair reference pictures it helps so so much

yes yes yes!! for those curious here's fences which is um. a time travel fix-it but only in the sense everyone lives... its steve pov which means you get VERY LITTLE info about the plot and whats Actually happening for the other characters, so ive been keeping a "director's cut" as a potential to explain what the hell is going on for everyone else. heres a couple moments from ch1:

“[The dreams] start in early November. Steve can’t remember, at this point, what the first dream is. In his defense, he doesn’t really expect it to happen again. He didn’t know to mark it on the calendar as the first of something important. Steve’s never had that kind of forethought. He’s never had anything happen to him and think: this is going to change my life.” i had the robin/steve scene written pretty much from the beginning. the fic rotates around two scenes: this scene, and the eleven introduction. everything else is just…fic. it’s why i wrote that last line, because the stobin reuniting scene reads: “‘Steve,’ she says, and she’s laughing, and Steve, through his concern and fondness and sudden clarity, thinks, You’re who I was looking for. Steve, for all his lack of foresight, looks at her and knows. Robin Buckley, the weird girl from band who he’s pretty sure is in Nancy’s year—Robin Buckley’s going to change his life.” its all about the stobin, baby! barb in general in this fic is rlly interesting as the foil of eddie in a lot of ways, which kind of makes nancy as steve’s foil… which makes a lot of sense, bcs while this fic doesnt deal w s2 explicitly, it’s most like s2 overall, in that nancy is spiraling bcs of the pretending and steve doesnt know how else to cope. poor barb is coping with her death just like eddie is, and in another version of this fic where it’s nancy pov (which i may very well end up writing) it affects her relationship w nancy in really interesting ways! 

“His hair is shoulder length, for one, and he’s in a flannel. His jeans are black, at least. It’s kind of weird, since Steve can’t actually picture Eddie any other way (maybe he had a buzzed head in middle school? Steve isn’t sure), but it still feels off-putting. Not quite right.” i have a LOT of like. first senior year!eddie thoughts. i spent a lot of time thinking about how ive changed in the past three years, and how i’d changed from 17 to 20, and how that’s been shaped by my surroundings (and how it hasn’t) + how i changed from freshman to senior year. three years is a long time when you’re 17/18. i thought a lot about the kinds of hand-me-downs i received when i was younger & my family was less well off, and kind of matched that w eddie. he receives his leather jacket for christmas from wayne (ill point out the scene where we see it) + in an original draft of fences, he & steve go to the concert where he gets the back patch for his battle jacket in august ‘84. in my mind, he crafts this whole jacket based on the patch (which is cut out from a shirt)––this is loosely based on when my friend made her battle jacket. but ya. in my mind, as eddie fails the more hes like. fuck it. im gonna do what i wanna do. but it also takes time to build a wardrobe, so its still slow going.

Eddie’s got this pleased look on his face. Like Steve passed some sort of test. “You quit or something?” eddie and steve are really interesting (to me) in terms of internalized homophobia. to me. eddie’s always testing steve in fences, seeing how “gay” he’ll go, because eddie still thinks being gay is shameful + assumes steve is ashamed of “gay” behaviors. eddie is simultaneously ashamed of his own “gay” behaviors and ashamed of that shame while expecting it of steve. he thinks he’s mocking steve when he points out what he perceives as “gay” activities, even though what he’s really doing is attacking his own sense of self. i’ll try and point out some instances of this as they come up. meanwhile, steve misinterprets eddie’s internalized homophobia as like. regular homophobia. steve is gay (in that he’s bisexual), and his “gay behaviors” are because of that fact he’s queer, but he’s afraid of eddie noticing because he’s afraid eddie will shun him. steve’s in this really interesting position where he has this half-memory that strengthens over the course of the fic to real knowledge of what it’s like to lose your parents’ support & respect but hasn’t lost that respect yet. he can’t allow himself to be bisexual and keeps trying to “choose” heterosexuality even though that’s not how it works because he’s desperate to get things right this time around and have his parents’ love, even if that means going against what he wants and who he is. for having this dilemma, steve’s parents are notably absent: he will never have their love in the way he craves, and instead what he’s currently experiencing is simply their apathy.

here we go!! with minor spoilers for what will happen next lol... man i miss writing fences so bad! hopefully ill return to it soon bcs its SUCH an interesting piece to write and has made me think so so deeply about the characters and source material. id also like to go back and edit it at some point just to clean up phrasing, fix typos, etc.

I didn't draw Frankie's outfit in full ever, but ur right their sweater is like stylistically tattered. And they've got split pants. One leg is a solid black and the other is their signature palid. But each side has a patch of fabric that matches the other leg. And I imagine theyre wearing like chunky black platforms of some-type for their shoes

When it comes to body types I dont really know what the names and what not for all that is? I know some people have got pears and apples, but Idk I wouldnt know how to point that out to you my brain just doesnt see the pattern for those terms. I did though find this an interesting question so I went back over and did sketches over some of the designs I did.

And I thought it'd be fun to expand on why I went with the ideas I did

for the first five I did I didn't really put a ton of thought into it? I really just went with my gut. Frankie and Lagoona actually have pretty similar body types, with more "masculine" frames ie wider shoulders, flat chests, and narrower hips. Plus theyre both long limbed and a bit lanky. Theyre both a play on a square. When you look at square shaped characters you tend to view them as "sturdier" whether that be literally or emotionally. For Frankie that's square shape is fake. They aren't a very sturdy person, they're new to everything and always on the verge of tripping over their own feet but they WANT to be sturdy. Meanwhile Lagoona is a very confident person! She's comfortable in her own scales. I also wanted Lagoona to have more of a "swimmer's" body cuz, ya know. She's a fish.

I don't have much to say on the other three. Draculaura's body type was inspired by my own, but it's not exactly like mine either, I'm not as short as her lol. Clawdeen has a fuller figure as well, but she's a very active person so a lot of that is actually just muscle.

Cleo is the most generic of the group lol.

Spectra was the next character I actively tried to design, and for her I kinda leaned into her canon monster high body type. Primarly cuz I really wannted to make her look like a y2k girl with the lowrise boot cut jeans and little ballet flats. fun fact tho! I also really wanted to lean into her being a more sharped edged person with the only exception being her round face, and this is to accentuate the type of character she is! At least, my version of Spectra is meant to be a bit more antagonistic. She does mean things without fully thinking through the consequences of her actions and how they might affect the people around her. She can be pretty self serving. But that's not to say she is unfriendly or that people don't like her.

and here obviously is my most recent line up lol.

Much like Cleo I honestly did not put much of any thought into Ghoulia's actual body type.Her pose I did somewhat though, I wanted her to slouch a bit and look kind of droopy.

For Venus and Rochelle I had opposing strategies for both characters. For Venus I wanted to make her very sharp edged and punk, Just overall I wanted her monster type and personality to really come across. And i like the idea of her being pretty muscle-y actually ngl. Rochelle I tried to go for a more "pear" shaped body? Which with the pose and clothing choice I feel gets lost a bit. I like the idea of her having a very soft and rounded silhouette to contrast the whole... spikey rock monster thing lol.

Abbey being giant and thick just makes sense to me imo, but also I really wanted to lean into rounder shapes to contrast the first impression she usually gives people. That whole Cold, Stoic, and Mean impression people get from her isn't true, in reality Abbey is quite friendly and sweet once you actually get to know her.

that aside this concept is very interesting.. since the lyrics are by breadbox, its very illuminating to see how he interprets the manga and ayano's character in general. which is important to me bc i am aware that he's like the only? kagepro youtuber out there i think.. or at least the most popular. meaning his content and interpretations have shaped recent english-speaking public opinion of kgpr's narrative whether for better or worse. and i care abt that kind of shit

OK ENOUGH NITPICKING THE CREATORS LOL um my thoughts on this entire video: most of it is very standard bread and butter ayano interpretation (sacrificing herself for her everyone etc etc), but its pretty interesting to me that they chose to expand on route m konoha's and ayano's relationship, which was something that was very, very barely touched on in the manga. like konoha gets fucking possessed and ayano doesnt say a word abt that like LOL this manga is.... yeah. its interesting that they wrote their relationship as konoha worrying about ayano, but ayano feeling like he is unable to relate to her. i dont necessarily agree or disagree with that interpretation cuz its something i hvnt really thought about, but i find that to be an interesting interpretive choice.

also the second verse + chorus is pretty confusing bc the verse references konoha and ayano, but then the chorus jumps back to ayano from two years ago cuz the chorus is "Girl, 16" (ayano is 18 in the present day of route m). tho i guess the manga never really specifies how long konoha and ayano had known each other??? so maybe they met when ayano was 16??? god this vid is making me very confused abt the manga LOLLL

i will say tho that the last chorus was very confusing to me. bc it showed LTM ayano, i was under the impression that it was about a route 1 ayano? but i was confused, cuz the lyrics were "Girl, 18", and no route 1 ayano ever makes it to 18 (also when i say route 1 ayano i just mean any ayano whose part of the yuukei quartet + jumps off the roof etc etc). but after a few rewatchs, im pretty sure the last chorus is about yakitsu. i really wish they didnt use a pic of LTM ayano then, theres plenty of good pics of yakitsu from the last chapter of the manga they couldve used instead.

i get why they would believe that LTM ayano is yakitsu tho. thats cuz this is something that still isnt fully agreed on among fans, cuz even after 10 fucking years no one actually understands what LTM's mv is about LMAO. personally i think white dress ayano = yakitsu. and i think the ayano in LTM is just.... ayano from that route, not from route m. why she disappears tho.. um... hm......

What is the least risky/physically damaging way of chestbinding that doesnt require surgery?

I'm a physically disabled, masc-presenting nonbinary person who quite honestly experiences little to no body dysphoria (from what I understand), but would still love to have a flatter chest so I can be perceived as more masculine/androgynous. I worry that wearing a binder could further damage my back/ribcage thanks to my disability (essentially I have a condition that makes my bones more fragile than they should be, which in turn has caused other problems over the years, such as frequent bone fractures, scoliosis, etc. Also I'm a wheelchair user.) I dont want to commit to something as serious as top surgery though

What should I do? What are some other good options?

PS. I dont expect any medical advice or expertise, of course, just wondering what your overall thoughts are. Hopefully all that made sense. Also i'd love to hear from anyone else who maybe relates to my situation, as I currently feel pretty alone in this. Anything is appreciated, thank you very much <3

hey i understand and i'm glad you're reaching out about this, it's really important to take your health into consideration as a disabled person, that's why i stopped binding, myself. i have hypermobile joints and binding was causing all kinds of problems with shifting things out of place, i also have fibromyalgia and it was generally just causing me pain that i didn't need

i'm glad to hear that you don't have a lot of chest dysphoria, what i might recommend for someone in your position depending on your size is a well fitting but not too tight sports bra with no built in cups- i used to wear sports bras a lot and after a while you tend to not notice them if you get ones that are fitted to your body shape well enough. sports bras are also pretty plus size friendly as well, like i said, just prioritize finding ones with a flat front and don't have any cups or seams sewn in to make a typical bra cup shape

trans tape could also potentially be an option for you, though i do not have experience with it, as i am very fat and have a large chest. what works for a lot of people is learning how to layer different types of clothing- i used to wear a lot of under shirts, like the types you can get in the men's underwear section, underneath t-shirts under a button-up shirt, that kind of thing. the more layers you create, the harder it is to see exactly what's going on, you hide the shapes more easily, and so on. you can play with different fabrics and types of clothing as well, you may find that sweaters suit you better, or maybe hyper masculine "worker" blue collar aesthetics, who knows

those would be my suggestions, but anyone else who has any input for binding while disabled, feel free to give us your input, we'd love to hear from you! take care, i hope you can figure something out and play with your gender in a way that's accessible to you and your health =) have a great day!

The parallel of this Mikey and Haru, make me think that, why Sanzu's scars had to be on his side mouth and with half-diamond shape. If the accusation of Haru broke the airplane model was a merely triggered, that's mean, Sanzu got his scars not because of that. It seems like, Mikey's dark impulse is controlled by someone else. Not to mention, that Sanzu got excited to see the " other Mikey ", it seems like Sanzu had something to do with "the other Mikey ", as if Mikey's dark impulse is his comfort and the satisfication of him getting on that.

And what Sanzu meant by karma (destiny) ? Those word seems like delivered directly to Mikey's dark impulse. Cant wait for the flashback of Sanzu's scars.

Do you get deja vu ? I did understand how's Mikey felt when he heard people cheer Toman. He is the founder and ex-captain of Toman, listen to your ex-subordinate cheering really triggered him. Mikey disband Toman for everyone good sake, he lost his family and friends because of he being the Invicible Mikey Toman, of course, a lot of gang try to sabotage him. It felt like, you got betrayed by your own past. Mikey really wanted to forget about Toman because those brought his trauma upfront. That's how the dark impulse activate. I dont blame him, he got a lot of burden and trauma, even though he in wrong side, but just like he said "the other me wouldnt know what is wrong and right ".

I have seen no one pay attention to the Kisaki's real plan. Before these, we might thinking of Mikey fallen into the darkness because of his family and friends gone, but remember when Mikey still held his head high ? He might have to be strong in front of anyone but surely he will broken down once everyone out of his sight. In which, every Kisaki's plans doesnt responsible of Mikey fallen into the darkness, Kisaki only wanted Mikey to make him to the top with Toman's name. I would says, Mikey doesnt mind to let Kisaki did whatever he wanted, because in every timeline, doesnt matter, his friends stay alive or not, he will be always in the darkness in the future, which means, someone silently dragging Mikey into that darkness. I would says Sanzu is the one that responsible for Mikey in the darkness, as he never be seen in any timeline, even though there are the meeting of Toman's executive( TokRev anime Ep 24) but Sanzu never been spotted. Isnt he should be there?

Sanzu sneaking behind Kisaki's plans, he and Kisaki both have different goals, Sanzu wanted to be Mikey's right hand man and Kisaki wanted to be on the top with Mikey's power. Kisaki plan is really good idea for Sanzu manipulate Mikey into something that no one care about him something like, everyone just wanted use Mikey for his power.

The blank spot. Takemichi seems like he forgotten everything about his past in og timeline. Now, to think of that, after he got time leapt, the disadvantages of time leaping, certain of his memories were being erased. Blank spot always be there whenever Toman Founder gathered, it doesnt make sense, i know but to think that Takemichi and the others probably forgotten the memories in order to save Mikey ( who's got his karma) , might highly have the possibilities of Takemichi one of Toman founder.

The thing was, Takemichi got into Toman not because he really wanted to but, to save Toman, in order to save Mikey. Because the cause death of Hina was definitely was Kisaki's cruelty, so, there should be no point of Takemichi stay in the past after Kisaki die but then, Takemichi realized that the one he should save was Mikey, because the bond between them stronger as if they connected to one another.

Takemichi says, that he left his friends behind after he graduated from middle school, causes by he got bullied. Isnt it weird that if Takemichi never been encoutered with deliquents at least, once ? Even he doubt why he turn into that kind of lifestyle in original future, because he left his friends and purse to the other path, i just wanna says, memories could be false sometimes, it was mind trick.

Takemichi seems to love Toman so much as if, he born to be in Toman, not exactly, but as if he's part of Toman Founder.

Im pretty sure that Takemichi have something to do with him being a deliquent in the past before he time leapt, even thougj he claimed that he left his oldself in the past, choose different path.

And how, Mikey knew the brawl happened between Kiyomasa amd Takemichi at the time ? That's why i assume Mikey and Takemichi have a special deep connection going around between them. It feels like, Takemichi in mission to save Mikey, and that have been planned by the real mastermind behind all of these.

Takemichi could be the erased Toman Founder as the diadvantege him time leaping. That's why the spirit of Takemichi as Toman, really stronger than anyone.

Everyone was thinking about Toman being fucked up in the future but Takemichi was always thinking about Mikey. The unparallel of Takemichi's perspective with others. He thought they wanted to screw up Mikey by killing his family and friends, but they just wanted Toman. We can see everything in manila Mikey chapter, where Mikey looks totally find ( actually, even though in deep isnide he must be sad ) but not as bad as he in Bonten. Manila Mikey kills everyone include his friends to find Takemichi but still in good condition, while Kisaki and Izana took over Toman, and here, both Kisaki and Izana doesnt have any intention to bring Mikey to the darkness, MEANWHILE Mikey in Bonten totally screw up, while he still have all his friends living their good life, and isnt Mikey should be happy as he promised that his friends gonna live a good life in future ?

But then, why only Mikey live that way ? This explained everything the real reason behind Mikey fall into the darkness.

Some sleep deprived thoughts on casters, or at least my interpretation of them;

I don't like sorcerers. Conceptually, yes, mechanically, no. Lemme explain; theres the joke of how wizards spend years learning their magic, but then sorcerers are just born with it. An 8 year old sorcerer could theoretically cast a magic missile while a wizard had to take classes to pick that up. Its humorous, but it doesnt really make any sense.

Spells are crafted; evidenced by the fact some are named after their maker, and that the techniques found in casting it need to be recorded in a spellbook. They're strict, bound in instruction, requiring knowledge of components, incantations, and somatic elements. You need to learn to cast spells, so why do Sorcerers (and other gifted casters) just know these spells?

I mean, simply put, its a flaw in the spell-list system. Now, I dully understand why everyone is based off a spell-list; its easy and more convienent than having each caster have a fully different casting style, but it of course leads to these weird inconsistencies. I'd argue that a lot of casters, namely sorcerers, use magic to shape their environment in a more fluid and abstract way, compared to the structure of spells

Sorcerers are untrained fonts of raw magical energy; its a gift they inherited. They, in most cases recieve no formal training and are left to figure out how to harness this gift themselves. Its abstract casting, using magic to do shit as needed.

Metamagic is honestly a decent representation of this; its breaks the established rules of spells by changing damage types, targets, and other 'hardwired' parts of a spell. D&D 5e us not the right medium for this kind of abstract casting, so idk what can be done to represent this, but metamagic is a good start.

I'd argue a lot of casters work like this; druids and rangers definitely just manipulate nature around them; warlocks and clerics channel the power of their masters (though it could be argued they likely carry some level of training to allow them knowledge similar to, if not, spells (Prayers or hymns for clerics as an example)). Paladins could go the same route if theistic, but otherwise channeling off of themselves. Bards definitely learn songs which fill that niche, and artificers probably learn their shit too.

If each caster functioned way differently from each other than they do currently, I think it would really hammer in more solid identifies and unique playstyles.

D&D is just not the system for this though, so I get why its the way it is. The sorcerer problem still irks me tho, I just dont know how to solve it.

I probably am being too hard on 2007scape in all honesty but besides what you've said about it, which I agree with pretty heavily btw, the main thing that gets me is the relentless shitting on rs3. I'm not saying rs3 doesnt have its issues, it certainly does, but a lot of it completely ignores a lot of the legitimately good parts of rs3. Which like why would any of them know about it they don't play rs3. Like I get that shitting on rs3 is a pretty sacred pastime for both sets of rs players but the joke is so played out on the osrs side at least. It just seems there's this vitriolic hatred for a combat update that happened well over a decade ago for a game none of them play anymore. And I understand that I shouldn't care what randoms on the internet say, especially randoms on reddit, but whenever I see it my first reaction is just 'really this again?' And there's the entire thing of people shutting down discussions about rebalancing xp rates or whatever else to not be the worst thing ever with 'if you want ezscape go play rs3 shitter'. I understand i'm complaining really hard about something that is pretty inconsequential but i dunno, despite rs3s numerous flaws there is still such love for it in my heart and it sucks to see it get shit on by people who don't even care about it. I dunno, enough of me whining though. The multi-million dollar company doesnt need me defending it

But on the point of eoc i think the original story is that the CEO and investors at the time forced eoc because they thought runescape needed to copy other mmos at the time. It truly was a shit show on release, and I actually remember being one of the few f2p beta testers at the time, but it's certainly shaped up with time and updates and last time I played it I actually liked it. I'd be interested to see what the osrs team would do with a complete combat expansion but I dont think it would ever happen, it'd completely change the core of osrs and wouldn't keep that vibe really. Plus it would never get past polling. But what they've been doing lately is pretty interesting, I like perilous moons and I feel like they still have some ideas left in the bank. They could look into things aside from bosses too, maybe world events could make a come back. The Bandos and Armadyl/Battle for Lumbridge one was a lot of fun in rs3, I remember the Tuska one being sick as all hell as well. But that sort of has it's own issues in being temporary content that osrs doesnt do outside of like holiday events and hot fixes plus possible lore complications. Maybe a proper big multi skill skilling boss more complex than Tempoross or Zalcano? Those god aligned prayers that were talked about a while ago really interest me. But I think eventually something will have to give, although I might be pretty biased as a previous rs3 player. Combat achievements are an amazing addition though I really like that update

I don't know if im apart of the group of players that wants more and more varied updates but I do feel like I certainly lean that direction. I'll admit though that I should not get my way, it'd certainly strip away the special identity of osrs and I could just get that from restarting rs3 again. I guess what I'm trying to say is that there is still more osrs could take from rs3 while still keeping that identity osrs has and I trust the current dev team to do that and with polling to help keep it in line

Yeah, I agree that "rs3" is used as kind of a boogeyman word in that community. Which on one hand, makes sense - this version was brought in specifically to NOT be rs3, and "rs3" broadly represents all the "bad changes" that made individual players stop playing that game. but I do think it's a bit much sometimes, even as someone who hasn't played rs3 since... maybe a couple brief attempts in ~2012 before OSRS released. but it's also funny how "EoC" is used derisively as the thing that "ruined" runescape, when it really wasn't just that, it was a lot of updates that were controversial to different people for different reasons. Removal of free trade/wildy, obviously; summoning and dungeoneering were both kinda polarizing; EoC, yes; but also the increased emphasis on MTX over the years. I remember when squeal of fortune was first added... yeah. But anyway, even if there are valid criticisms to be made and valid reasons for people to not want OSRS to go in any direction like that, people can be mean-spirited about it - i've heard mostly good things about rs3 from people who play it, recently, and tbh I think 2007scape has gotten nicer about it as a whole due to more players who play both (rs3 players picking up osrs, mostly)... and maybe also due to this community feeling less "threatened" now that it's clear OSRS is successful and here to stay (vs earlier days when there was an underlying fear jagex head honchos could pull the plug any moment). but I'm sure it is very annoying as someone who actively plays rs3 to see all that, I get that. It's a different game now. Different doesn't have to mean "worse".

the sentiment towards rs3, or i suppose "pre-eoc era" RS2 has definitely warmed up over the years in the 07scape community though. as evidenced by new skill polling passing... and as evidenced by the number of osrs updates that are basically things that existed in RS2/RS3 but are just reskinned... Some people are aware of that, some are not, but it's happening nonetheless. and I don't think that's a bad thing. as long as there's still polling and lots of community feedback, I don't think changes should be off the table just because "that was in rs3"... also because what feels "old school" or not is soooooo subjective so like. voting on it. voting is good.

Briar is the most recent one, i already adressed it in a recent post. I dont like they just made her anime highschool girl shaped, i think her design would have been stronger is she was uncanny skinny, it would fit better on her 'failed experiment with terrible hunger' concept and its a lost opportunity to make a character creepy and unsettling as Fiddlesticks was on its release. Im very bothered by her body type (wich is not bad but you know, repetitive), and if your team picks her its an insta loose so let me tell you its also not funny to play with one, i dont think she's well designed in the abilities department. I tried to like her because well, she's ''''''unusual'''''', but the type of unusualness that turns boring after a few days and then you just realize that she's just another pretty girl with Patrick Star personality.

aside from that i think i have opinions that most of the community would highly dissagree on so, sorry.

Irelia's rework didnt stick good on me. And i wanted to like her very badly but there's things that i just dont like on her that make me go 'eh' and play or think about another toplaner. Aside from making all of her skins exactly the same (you know, exact hair lenght just put like buns or other minor additions to the hair, the exact same dress piece, etc). I appreciate the rework in the artistic department but... I think her old blade was way more interesting that what she has going on right now, i understand why her blades are like this now, resembling the floating stones and all the 'power of nature and flow' that Ionia has around... but, i just dont like it. Her new lines are an improvement though, i cant really remember any lines from the old Irelia so, it's interesting how she gets to talk about her family, war, etc. One thing that bugs me the most is the Ice blade Irelia splashart... You know exactly what im talking about. I just cannot wrap my head around it. Actually imagine going to the artist and telling them 'Hey we need this new splashart for this Irelia skin, but like enhance her ass the most cause fans really loved it' ...bruh.

I know its a unpopular opinion and that she is a fan favourite and anyone could stab my throat if i say it but... I cant stand Akali. Like, at all. And i desperately tried to like her, i tried to like her on K/DA but it never works out. I tried playing her trying to somewhat bond and understand her but it doesnt work out. Look, original Akali wasnt good. I admit it, she was a copy and paste of Jade from Mortal Kombat. But the rework... It hurted me. I just couldnt understand why did they make her so... bratty, so 'pick me' type of girl, this kind of 'im rebel blehhhh' kind of person... Wich isnt bad in essence but, they made her so utterly exaggerated that it annoys me. I dont understand why they made her fall off of the Kinkou that badly and make her relationship with Shen this father-bratty daughter that rolls her eyes everytime he talks it makes me want to peel my skin with my nails. Her model update was definetly a glow up that im thankful for and she looks amazing, but... she is a pick me girl. She's the 'im not like the other girls' 'im not like my mom' 'im not like the other girls in ionia who believe in balance' and it hurts. There's a lot of positive changes on her i appreciate and i applaud, i just decide not to test it on my own because i know i wont enjoy it. I tried liking her on K/DA cause WELL at least she's interacting with 3 more people (4 with Seraphine) without being a literal child in rabies. But yeah, didnt quite work, she's better, but i dont want her near me. Her glowup is good, her emotion on the lines is amazing, but her personality kicks my ass badly. And i just hate the way Riot makes all her skins exactly the same just like Irelia, almost always the same type of dress piece (literally no matter if she's wearing a suit like crime city, a witchy design like coven... its literally the same shit) and the same type of haircut, copy and pasted but with different colours.

If anything, i could never take Sona seriously, her voice lines were bad already and her update just kept being bad or even worse. I try to like her but again, sexualized and basic. Nidalee is in the same category, playing her its fun but would you sacrifice that to hear sexual innuendos every 10 seconds?
