I sometimes like to dream of a Digimon game that'd be like a big open world RPG where your Digimon is a full NPC, voiced and all, who's relationship with your player character revolves around the decisions you make in the main story and side quests, the way you treat your Digimon, and so on, in the best companion NPC traditions. But also based on the Digimon in question's personality, type, maybe even backstory.

You'd get several Digimon to choose from, each fully-rounded characters with their evolutions branching to an extent based on how the story goes, and the one you'd pick would be your main companion, but you'd also have other NPCs help you in the plot and progress the story/form the team, humans and Digimon.

I know it'd be pretty much impossible to do this due to how many totally different branching story paths, alternate endings, etc., it would have to have, as well as issues with combat and probably switching between two characters ( your Digi being your main fighter, with the pc likely being more of the support type, but with variations based on upgrades, unlocked perks, type of your Digi, how you level up the characters, etc.. ), and a million other problems, but.

I can dream LOL.

Wahahahah that yesterday I had so much fun with this shit. In truth, I’ve lost a bet…But this doesn’t mean I can’t have fun with a defeat🤣. I’ve had to change my whole Junzumizine idea and turn it into a summer themed one✨. Well, the previous idea was about opera, so I guess this is going to be better, also because I dis want to draw something for them with summer vibes in mind, before my friends issued their verdict.

So ,for starters, ✨fashion✨ post, which is my favourite part of my Junzumizines, painless✨🤣. Like always, my Junzumi has to be totally stupid, two failures on the beach as well, especially Junpei at this round because, on his defense, Izumi inviting you somewhere below the italian Sun is not something happening everyday.

This has been a blast because I could practice with their body shapes a bit more. I had never drawn a shirtless Junpei (though many asked me to do so lol).

Hopefully we'll be able to get the upcoming game soon, but thought it would be neat to put a few of my Digimon OCs into Tomodachi Life (citra), which is the highest honor you can ever give to your OCs! uuu' My Tamer OC/lead, Akasa Oginome, with a few of her partners, Kiran (Beelzemon Rebel), Kaira (Lilimon Noble), and Shinjiro (ArchAngemon). Mostly for how the 3 of them would look like in human disguises

ff7 digimon AU - yuffie's impmon

i really like it when digimon's appearances are slightly altered so they can be matchies with their partner!! more commentary under readmore

yuffie's impmon - she/her- crest of sincerity

i think impmon is a good choice for yuffie because it's got Silly Little Guy energy while also being sneaky and mischievous. this impmon in particular would pick up a lot of design cues from yuffie after they become partners: the smiley face marking is engraved onto the headband that replaces the red bandanna, and i added some shuriken-looking spikes that she can launch from her tail (they regrow fairly quickly!)

i also thought it could be fun if i gave her some racoon/tanuki traits, like weird little paws and the face-mask markings (raccoon back feet are a nightmare to draw btw). its always been really unclear to me if the situation going on on impmon's head is supposed to be horns or ears, so i chose ears because i think it's cuter. im not sure if im going to keep the leaf marking on the forehead white - i wanna try making it green or reddish purple but i feel like it wont look quite right. we'll find out next time i guess!

in terms of personality, impmon is starkly different from yuffie from an outsider's perspective - even though she's also a materia-obsessed little thief who enjoys a good Scheme, she is quiet and shy, mostly staying in the shadows and out of the way. that said, for all the timid behavior, impmon can be very angry and spiteful: she is highly mistrustful and unforgiving, prone to silently holding a grudge for an indefinite amount of time. she hates liars, but "yuffie doesnt count 'cause she sucks at lying and i can always tell".

even though impmon knows when yuffie is hiding something, any attempt to get her to talk about whats bothering her ends with yuffie just digging in her heels and refusing to budge. this is probably due to how recent their partnership is - i think they met shortly before yuffie got to junon, so impmon has no idea who sonon is or what happened in midgar. because of that, their teamwork is very inconsistent and wholly dependent on yuffie's mood - as long as sensitive subjects are avoided, impmon finds yuffie easy to be around. in fact, yuffie's impulsiveness is fun and even sort of refreshing, and it brings out a sillier, bolder, and much more outwardly confident impmon. but when yuffie is acting recklessly as a result of being in a bad state of mind, impmon freezes up and shrinks back, unsure of what to do or how to help her.

i have the exact circumstances of yuffie and impmon's first encounter mostly worked out but i dont want this post to be like six miles long so i'll stop here. might as well drop this in the main tags, though idk what to tag this as bc like. yuffie isnt really in this post ?? fuck it we ball i guess

I needed to be stupid somewhere and tumblr is my place of choice, but I can't stop thinking that these panels of Orion remind me of Wargreymon. It's the new helm, the fangs, and how Orion's eyes are emphasized with black (all of them such good design elements like I can't get over it). Idk why my brain does this, but it just makes me think of Wargreymon.
