I didn’t want to say this because I felt really bad over being to pushy but I realised that with this it’s okay to be pushy.

What I’m talking about is the erasure of Hunter’s bisexuality.

I know that a lot of people may not have noticed it and aren’t aware of the bi flag pictured on Hunter’s stitched shirt. It’s easily missed, and I get that! But I also think that some people are just openly ignoring it, which is deeply frustrating.

I myself am guilty of calling it ‘implied bisexuality’ because I was scared people would argue that it’s not been verbally confirmed. However, when Eda’s box had the bi flag on it, I’m pretty sure that most people accepted that as Bi Eda being canon, and those who didn’t had to put on the clown makeup because it later got verbally confirmed. Luz also has a bi flag on her hat too!

With this in mind, Hunter should be accepted as a canonically bi character. The crew wouldn’t just put a bi flag on his shirt for no reason if we look at the previous two examples. Side note that with headcanons such as Aro/Ace/Aroace Hunter, that’s fine as he can still be bi with those labels!! But headcanoning Hunter as gay for example while being aware of this bi confirmation and actively ignoring it… that’s biphobia.

The negative part of me thinks the ignorance to Hunter being bi may also stem from how bi men are treated in general (I am a bi man myself and oh boy… it isn’t good) but that’s a topic for a whole other day.

Also I’m aware one argument is that he also put the Japan flag on that shirt so obviously he has no clue what those flags mean. Maybe Hunter just likes anime and/or thinks Japan is cool, or maybe he just thought the flag was neat etc etc, but the crew wouldn’t put a pride flag for no reason, and we see the lesbian and bi flag in the scrapbook later on so it’s safe to assume Hunter is familiar with the flags.

I think another argument is the flag colours are off but… yeah that’s still the bi flag. They wouldn’t use those colours in that order, even if the purple is way lighter, accidentally. That was intentional.

Please if you see this post all I’m asking is you do acknowledge Hunter’s canon bisexuality and stop making excuses to erase it. Please.

I think she definitely likes to dye her hair whenever in modern AU (she technically change her look regularly in canon via Disguise Self pfff) also gave her one more piercing (tongue) and tattoo (snowflake on shoulder) 

She’s definitely somewhere on the ace spectrum hence the shirt (maybe grey or demi? somewhere on the spectrum anyway) and also a big lesbian, hence the flag pin-

- I love the LabInnit headcanon and hc Tommy as a clone of Philza, with just enough hybrid and human DNA to be able to gestate and grow like a normal child. Unfortunately for him, this left him human enough to have an actual biological sex (unlike pure angels like Philza, who are monosex.), though before puberty it was only able to be determined through like genetic tests (which Tommy had gone through a ton of due to being a lab rat).

- When Tommy was about three, Techno burnt down the lab he was imprisoned in (it was a government lab dedicated to unethical weapon experimentation). When Techno and Phil were looking through the rubble, they found this kid trapped in a cage covered in surgical scars and looking eerily like Philza, and Philza just immediately adopted him. Most of the records of Tommy’s experimentation survived (thankfully, as he has specific medical needs and stuff due to being a patchwork abomination of every species under the sun), so Phil read through them and assumed Tommy was a girl (though he doesn’t really get the concept of gender) and named “her” Clementine.

- Tommy didn’t figure out he was trans for a while, mostly due to being raised by an angel who doesn’t have a gender and his pig friend who doesn’t care (with supplemental help from a half fridge musician and his salmon wife). He always knew that the name Clementine didn’t fit him, though he did love it and much preferred it to being a nameless string of numbers like he used to be.

- He figured it out around the same time as Fundy and his friend Niki (ye i headcanon c!niki as trans for the reason of why not). They all started transitioning around the same time. Tommy very insistently tried to get Niki to choose Clementine as her name. He failed. (Tommy would have been around six or seven, Fundy would have been eleven, and Niki would have been nine)

- Tommy chose his own name, but Wilbur joked it was short for Tomathy and it stuck.

- It’s not too soon after that that the SBI found Tubbo on the side of a road, curled in a sopping wet cardboard box. They learnt through the confused rambling of a child that he was the child of some rich business man, was kidnapped for ransom but escaped, and had been sleeping on the streets for a while. They also found out that he’d named himself (”“Tuberculosis, ‘ts a pretty word, but you c’n call me Tubbo for short!”” the sopping wet seven year old explained proudly, not noticing the barely stifled giggles from Wilbur.) and that he was also transmasc. This isn’t relevant for now but it is important for later sorry.

- When Tommy was nine, he moved from Philza’s isolated cabin far away from danger to the Dream SMP, after being invited. (Tubbo was not, but he snuck in behind Tommy and no one had the heart to kick him out). Of course, soon he was followed by friends and family, and they built a nation and we all know what happens there.

- The L’Manburg war ends when Tommy is ten and peace lasts for two years, so it is when Tommy is twelve, nearly thirteen, that the Pogtopia vs Manburg war begins. Fundy ““accidentally””  does not notice when Tommy steals puberty blockers from him for himself and Tubbo, and definitely does not order more for them (because by this point he’s sixteen and on t already).

- As Tommy grows older, and turns thirteen, and then fourteen, he starts stealing from Fundy’s potion supply of testosterone because this is Minecraft and they totally can make hormone replacement in potions because that’s cool. Tubbo refuses it, scared to be found in possession of some (Schlatt had already found the hormone blockers he’d tried to hide, and slapped him and berated him. Schlatt assumed he was transfemme so it wasn’t as awful as it could be, but it was still pretty traumatic, so Tubbo’d stopped taking them, especially after he saw how Schlatt would misgender and deadname Fundy in private).

- After Nov 16th, Ghostbur potion master extraordinaire brew the hormone potions for Fundy and Tommy. (He’d brew them for Tubbo, too, but the idea was still a bit too much for him, and Tubbo had so much work to do he forgot anyway.)

- Look, I’m all for exile arc angst, okay, but I’m not writing Dream misgendering Tommy during exile. The only person allowed to be transphobic here is Schlatt and that’s because he already canonically is. But uh I’m actually writing a one shot about trans c!Tommy during exile and it’s at 3000+ words and I haven’t mentioned trans stuff in it yet I got too distracted by the angst.

- While Tommy was staying with Technoblade, Techno helped him brew up hormone potions.

- As Tommy sewed up his tattered clothes (with the help of Technoblade, on the days where his hands were too shaken), there was a split in his hoodie where he couldn’t find the right fabric to sew it up and make it look nice so Tommy sewed a trans flag patch over it. (The patch was later damaged through the explosions in Doomsday, and he replaced it with a patch from Tubbo’s old shirt, but Tommy’d totally sew on another trans patch if he had the time.)

- Tommy used to have his hair long as a child, even after he came out, but he cut it off before moving to the SMP, so no one would mistake him for a girl. He really liked it short, but it grew out in exile and he couldn’t be bothered to cut it. When he was with Techno, Technoblade would braid his hair up out of his face and by then Tommy knew no one alive on the SMP would be transphobic and he liked having it braided more than short (it reminds him of Techno and Phil), so he let it grow out again.

- Tommy knew he liked girls before he knew he wasn’t one, asked Wilbur what liking girls called, and Wilbur told him it was lesbian. Tommy didn’t realise that that was what girls who liked girls were called until he was about fourteen and was very confused why people were laughing at him when he called himself a lesbian.

- Tommy’s very insistent on being a Big Man, and insecure in presenting himself in any other way, despite being raised by Philza and Techno, who both don’t know about gender, and Phil’s probably never wore trousers in his life while Techno has a collection of gowns. This comes from when Tommy was little and being babysat by a family friend, Schlatt, who Tommy deeply admired. Schlatt’s... interesting opinions were one of the few contacts Tommy had with gender roles for a while, and Tommy deeply admired Schlatt and thought he was cool, so it influenced him a lot.

- The reason Tommy goes by Tommy Innit instead of his legal last name (Minecraft) is that after Philza asked Tommy for his new name, Tommy went “It’s Tommy, innit?” and began jokingly insisting he meant that it was TommyInnit instead of just Tommy as an injoke.

Bisexual Kyoshi is something that can be so personal, actually

““Are those . . . fire lilies?” he said, a wide, knowing grin spreading across his face.

Kyoshi flushed beet red. “Stop it,” she said.

“That’s right,” Yun said. “The Ember Island tourism minister brought a bunch when he visited two weeks ago. I can’t believe you simply shred the flowers once they dry out. I guess nothing goes to waste in this house.”

“Knock it off,” Kyoshi snapped. But it was too hard keeping the corners of her lips from curling upward.

“Knock what off?” he said, enjoying her reaction. “I’m just commenting on a fragrance I’ve come to particularly enjoy.”

It was an inside reference that only the two of them shared. Rangi didn’t know. She hadn’t been there in the gifting room eight months ago while Kyoshi arranged a vast quantity of fire lilies sent by an admiral in the Fire Navy, one of Hei-Ran’s friends.

Yun had spent the afternoon watching Kyoshi work. Against every scrap of her better judgment, she’d allowed him to lie down on the floor and rest his head in her lap while she plucked deformed leaves and trimmed stems to the right length. Had anyone caught the two of them like that, there would have been a scandal that not even the Avatar could have recovered from.

That day, entranced by Yun’s upside-down features dappled with the flower petals she’d teasingly sprinkled over his face, she’d almost leaned down and kissed him. And he knew it. Because he’d almost reached up and kissed her.

They never spoke of it afterward, the shared impulse that had nearly crashed both of their carriages. It was too . . . well, they each had their duties was a good way to put it. That moment did not fit anywhere among their responsibilities.

But since then, whenever the two of them were in the presence of fire lilies, Yun’s eyes would dart toward the flowers repeatedly until he was sure Kyoshi noticed. She would try unsuccessfully to keep a straight face, the heat coloring her neck, and he’d sigh as if to mourn what could have been.

Today was no different. With a wistful blush on his own cheeks, Yun stared her down until her defenses broke and she let out a giggle through her nose.

“There’s that beautiful smile,” he said. He pressed his heels into the floor, sliding up against the wall, and straightened his rumpled shirt. “Kyoshi, trust me when I say this: If it turns out not to be me, I’ll be glad it’s you.”

“You think you don’t deserve peace and happiness and good things, but you do!” Rangi yelled. “You, Kyoshi! Not the Avatar, but you!”

She closed the distance and wrapped her arms around Kyoshi’s waist. The embrace was a clever way to hide her face.

“Do you have any idea how painful it’s been for me to follow you on this journey where you’re so determined to punish yourself?” she said. “Watching you treat yourself like an empty vessel for revenge, when I’ve known you since you were a servant girl who couldn’t bend a pebble? The Avatar can be reborn. But you can’t, Kyoshi. I don’t want to give you up to the next generation. I couldn’t bear to lose you.”

Kyoshi realized she’d had it all wrong. Rangi was a true believer. But her greatest faith had been for her friends, not her assignment. She pulled Rangi in closer. She thought she heard a slight, contented sigh come from the other girl.

“I wish I could give you your due,” Rangi muttered after some time had passed. “The wisest teachers. Armies to defend you. A palace to live in.”

Kyoshi raised an eyebrow. “The Avatar gets a palace?”

“No, but you deserve one.”

“I don’t need it,” Kyoshi said. She smiled into Rangi’s hair, the soft strands caressing her lips. “And I don’t need an army. I have you.”

Psh,” Rangi scoffed. “A lot of good I’ve been so far. If I were better at my job you would never feel scared. Only loved. Adored by all.”

Kyoshi gently nudged Rangi’s chin upward. She could no more prevent herself from doing this than she could keep from breathing, living, fearing.

“I do feel loved,” she declared.

Rangi’s beautiful face shone in reflection. Kyoshi leaned in and kissed her.

A warm glow mapped Kyoshi’s veins. Eternity distilled in a single brush of skin. She thought she would never be more alive than now.

And then—

The shock of hands pushing her away. Kyoshi snapped out of her trance, aghast.

Rangi had flinched at the contact. Repelled her. Viscerally, reflexively.

Oh no. Oh no.

This couldn’t—not after everything they’d been through—this couldn’t be how it—

Kyoshi shut her eyes until they hurt. She wanted to shrink until she vanished within the cracks of the earth. She wanted to become dust and blow away in the wind.

But the sound of laughter pulled her back. Rangi was coughing, drowning herself with her own tears and mirth. She caught her breath and retook Kyoshi by the hips, turning to the side, offering up the smooth, unblemished skin of her throat.

“That side of my face is busted up, stupid,” she whispered in the darkness. “Kiss me where I’m not hurt.”

I include both these quotes because i've seen a few posts about the “gigantic lesbian” avatar, and although i am glad my sapphic sisters feel connected to Kyoshi (as well they should!), that doesn't mean i wish to simply be quiet on the matter of her textual bisexuality. I understand that not everyone has read her novels, nor has everyone read legend of Korra comics, but Kyoshi is *textually* bisexual.

Kyoshi had a loving romantic relationship with her firebending friend Rangi, but this does not erase her feelings for her earthbending friend Yun, even if neither of them were able to properly express it due to their respective “status”. (For context if you haven’t read, the masters believed that Yun was the avatar, and though he was bodyguarded by Rangi, and though Kyoshi was his servent, the three of them were simiar ages and thus close friends until the discovery of Kyoshi’s true ability destroyed their former lives). Hell, Kyoshi and Rangi do not become intimate until after fleeing their former lives. Who is to say what would have happened, had Yun not been captured by father glowworm ?

I know that there is a chance you will scoff at this, will write this off as comphet, accuse me of disproportionately weighting an almost-kiss with a true relationship, but these above quotes (as well as the comic panel from “the legend of korra: turf wars- part 1”) serve as proof that Kyoshi, “by all accounts loved men and women” (see panel directly below)

I am making such a big deal over this because Kyoshi is a massive figure, her long shadow cast over Aang’s life alongside Roku’s, and even before her novels came out there were often jokes about her “bloodthirsty” nature. I implore you to read the novels and see why Kyoshi believed in deadly justice at times, but also so you can see what a dynamic, loving, and beautiful character she is.

Some members of fandom have taken a “step on me” attitude towards Kyoshi, who has, even if the 7 feet tall thing is more fanon than canon, been explicitly described as “exceptionally tall”, and “towering” over others. This “strong woman who will break me and I thank them” attitude is one that butch &/or physically imposing sapphics, as well as trans women with similar statures to Kyoshi have expressed discomfort when applied to themselves and characters like them. I would love for more people to acknowledge her flaws and multi-faceted nature, that she is more than a “warrior goddess”, just as Aang is more than a living relic. Flattening her out to the easily-fetishable parts erases the depth of her character and the complexity of circumstances that led to the instances of deadly force.

There are very few bisexual characters in media, especially women, and especially in children’s media. Bisexual women have often been caricatured as loose, promiscuous, good for a threesome and not much else. (This is mot to say that i think any lesser of my fellow bisexuals who are proudly promiscious, nor can an actual live bisexual person be considered a stereotype for living their life, but media’s portayal of us as obsessed with desire is incredibly harmful). Knowing that a strong, beautiful, and important character in the avatar universe is a bisexual woman is amazing, even more so to have her first lady-love described in the novels with such care. F. C. Yee, the author of these novels, has my eternal gratitude. I sincerely hope that the new generation of fans, whether they are drawn to the cartoon or even the hypothetical live action show, will pick up these novels and discover the kind of bisexual character that I wish existed in my early days as a reader, and if a small fraction of them resonate with Kyoshi’s reciprocal on Yun and love for Rangi, then the world becomes a little bit brighter for it.

I mentioned her importance for the simple reason that Kyoshi IS important with the text of ATLA. As one of the avatars, she is one of the most historically important figures in that universe, one of the few avatars that Aang knows by name, and one of the only avatars to speak through his body. The fact that she has two whole novels to herself testifies to that effect, making her bisexual representation all the more important than a simple background character might be. 

If or when the ATLA live action tv show occurs, we can expect some mention of Kyoshi. After all, there is a whole episode dedicated to exploring one of her missions, and the way that the descendants of her enemy have recolored history. It is my sincere desire that enough discussion is made about her canon bisexuality , that fandom trumphets it from the roof with as much force as crackshipping zukka, that when she does make it to the screen, there is some subtle nod in her bisexuality’s direction, even if it is something as meta as casting a bisexual actress for her. -ruby’s style is the strongest in the series imo. they designed a butch lesbian and nobody told them ig. my only slight change was giving her cowboy boots cause if shes from “the country” then she should... actually... look like shes from the country. maybe its just cause i grew up in nc but i would love some southern rep from a character where being from the south isnt their whole Personality. anyways i think she should wear western style button downs is all im trying to say

-bella... her style is ALL over the place. since she is a set designer i wanted to make her a theatre kid!!! her style is somewhere in the 40s/50s zone of vintage inspired so that way she has a definite Range of styles and silhouettes to choose from! im a sucker for the new look bc its so Shapes but i could also see her pulling off some long wool circle skirts and peasant top blouses! i also gave her some hearing aids and braces which you can probably only see if you zoom in dhjnf

-poppy got the biggest design overhaul of anyone. i kept the butterfly theme and nothing else fbhdjd. since her music has some definite funk energies i wanted to give her a 70s inspired look with some glam platforms and denim overalls! i think we deserve bellbottom pantsuit poppy. i also changed her hair bc literally the rh main cast all have practically IDENTICAL hair styles save for the direction theyre parted in. i wanted to give her those anime butterfly headphones but toned down slightly hdsjdnd oh and! shes also wearing glasses bc once again we get a whole cast of characters and not one of them is wearing glasses like smh literally like half of all ppl wear glasses?? anyways in terms of personality i wanted to keep her bubbly but instead of just making music thru like Divine Inspiration i think she should take a more realistic and nuanced approach!! show her nerding out abt music theory and talking about the themes her pieces represent and the stories they tell

-sunny’s design is Mostly the same! her hair is slightly changed, i wanted it to match the cover she drew for winnerz! i also made the rainbows on her outfit pride flag colors, and gave her some button pins on her jacket! every Token Anime Kid ive ever met has buttons plastered all over their bags and jackets and its a nice touch that gives her some more Character i feel

-jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaade. jade. i wish she had kept her dark lipstick. and also that she wasnt just billie eilish. and that she was the token goth of the group. her stitched up shirt is inspired by a shirt i wore in high school! it was from the 90s and SUPER beat up to the point where it was literally disintegrating so i just sewed up any new holes that would form with contrasting thread it was a Look. i hc her as wearing contacts bc when she tried wearing glasses she got upset that she couldnt show off her makeup as much gvhbnf! i also gave her a spider necklace bc i think she should still like spiders BUT i HATE the jokes abt “therapy tarantulas” bc only dogs and like 10 horses can actually be service animals and the whole thing w people lying about their untrained dogs/cats (or worse, exotic animals that they should not even own) being service/therapy/emotional support animals just so they can bring them in public is!! Really Bad!! and it hurts people who actually do need service dogs bc untrained dogs are well. untrained and set a bad example for how service animals will actually act! and owners who print out fake certifications also make it harder for disabled ppl bc it leads to store owners thinking that theres some sort of paper they can ask the owner to flash to prove the service dog is trained when that. is not actually true and theres no such thing as an actual certificate for this. if a service dog company offers a certificate/card/whatever to show authority it is specifically for disabled people to do when faced with this issue and has no actual official meaning. and ANOTHER thing that bothers me abt this joke is that.. Therapy For What? it would be really cool to see a canonically mentally ill character as a protagonist for a doll line! it would be fantastic to see them opening up that conversation for neurodivergent kids and their parents! but we have no indication for that at All just haha funy therapy spider :| anyways jade is an nd lesbian my canon now

-skyler is punk now! shes a fashion major and i think it would be a really interesting character to explore, someone who is shy but dresses really flashy and tough! i also changed her theme material from denim to the blue leather she wears at the party bc im biased towards alt fashion. her hair was really fun to design, with a big Cloud of Fluff at the top and long braids underneath bc get it!! its Rain Cloud Shaped :] i dont have much else to say bc this design is def in my Comfort Zone of styles. anyways we stan andershaw here they literally are in love

-vi vi! i didnt change much bc i dooooooont really know that much about influencer/mainstream fashion tbqh... i Did give her That One Halter Top Style that literally 2 other of the main characters are both wearing instead of a loose 1 piece dress tho. i also decided she should be into holographic fabric bc its very Sleek and Future Is Now and Influencercore. i also think the sleek tight fitting holo shirt/skirt is a good contrast to Big Fluffy Fur Jacket. she also has a prosthetic leg idk i just thought it would be a good Touch 

overall rh def has some MAJOR problems with diversity in all aspects and it shows in their fashion design as well! if you put the characters in black and white save for a few patterned pieces they would all be interchangeable and i honestly think that its representative of the larger problem! maybe i do follow the monster high design philosophy that every piece should only make sense on the character its from, but the fact that they cant even diversify FASHION despite it being a Fashion Doll Brand really Says It All.

Kaede Akamatsu

Oh Kaede, how dirty they do you. I started by giving her curly hair and darker skin since I hc faer to be mixed with Japanese and Afro-European. Next I gave faer the cute hat from her beta design but I made it piano themed. As me and @samara-doodles​ discussed, Kaede would be a high femme lesbian so fae wears cute skirts and dresses. Fae wears a pearl necklace, white blouse with a light pink tie with a brooch in between, pink tailcoat, frilly purple skirt with music notes, purple tights, and white Mary Janes. She gets to keep the backpack.

Maki Harukawa

I gave him shorter hair bc why does he have such long ass hair if he’s an assassin? I also gave him scars that he just covers up by saying he likes roughhousing with the kids. I took some inspiration from one of his beta designs and I dressed him in a light pink shawl with faux fur lining, black shirt, red overalls, and brown boots. He also carries a backpack full of weapons but no one needs to know that.

Himiko Yumeno

I made Himiko a bit taller bc no more lolicon shit. No more. I took some inspiration from their beta design like I always do. I made mysts dark skinned and her hair curly bc I hc myst to be Afro-European and Japanese mixed. I decided to give myst the galaxy hoodie from their beta design but they wear it as a cape, a witch hat with bunny ears on it, a frilly white blouse, black sweater vest, red skirt with white petticoats, and her canon boots but taller. I also gave myst the staff from their beta design and splash art. Their hat have strands with a sun, moon, bunny, etc charms on it.

Miu Iruma

Miu deserves to be the blonde STEM bimbo we deserve. I took some inspiration from her beta designs (wow what a surprise). She wears pink heart shaped goggles with spikes on the side, cropped pink jacket with ‘Baby’ on the back in hot pink letters, a pink zip up bodysuit with a heart zipper, the overalls from her beta design, and the boots from the beta with the crazy hair. She has tattoos everywhere and I decided to make her hair singed. She also has long pink nails and wears makeup bc she’s a bimbo. She also wears almost fingerless black gloves, they just don’t cover her nails.

Angie Yonaga

I am once again taking inspiration from beta designs. I decided to give sie the paint splattered jacket and bikini from the beta with the big ass paintbrush but with my own twist. I made the roots of sier hair black bc I can. Sie wear sier signature yellow jacket with paint splatters, a white Samue bikini, sier canon skirt but longer and with a belt to hold sier brushes, and sandals. Sie also have brown eyes and curly hair and vitiligo.

Tenko Chabashira

Pls for the love of GAWD let Tenko look like a proper aikido master. You can probably guess where I took inspiration from by now. She has shorter hair bc why does she have that long ass hair and she’s a fighter? I kept her bell bc she’s a catgirl and I made her ribbon look like cat ears. She wears a light green gi with floral patterns, light blue pants with cats on it, and socks with sandals.

Kirumi Tojo

She wears a white blouse with puffed shoulders, black vest, black knee length skirt with a spider web pattern, black stockings, and black dress shoes. She also wears black lipstick and a frilly black headband with a veil.

Tsumugi Shirogane

Xe have ficto hair in pigtails and xe wear big round glasses bc I say so. Xe wear a light blue blouse with puffed shoulders, suspenders with anime and manga pins as well as a genderfluid and lesbian flag, a knee length dark blue skirt with striped stockings, and Mary Jane shoes.

i headcanon kiibo as agender

considering the fact that he is a robot, it just makes sense doesn't it!

agender means: genderless or lacking gender

it also makes sense to me that he would be aroace, (asexual- lacking sexual attraction, aromantic- lacking romantic attraction, aroace- aromantic and asexual

kiibo is an avid supporter of every other lgbt and mogai identity too!

he frequently goes to pride parades, carrying a rainbow flag, and he will use his photo-printing feature to take free photos for everyone :)

i headcanon komaeda as genderfluid because i identify as genderfluid myself, and komaeda is my all time favorite sdra2 character

i kin nagito as well, it helps me maintain a sense of identity

i also headcanon him as gay :)

nagito would definitely go to pride parades with the rainbow flag, and paint rainbows on his cheeks

nonbinary: a gender outside the male and female binary

i am nonbinary myself, and i love and admire peko so much so i guess this is me projecting myself onto her

also i want a strong badass nonbinary character

like all the young gay and trans kids would look up to her

she absolutely loves pride parades, and she loves making lgbtqiaphobic people angry/uncomfortable

i headcanon gundham as aroace because i rarely see asexual/aromantic representation in media and i am personally also on the asexual spectrum

also i really want to see a strong, cool male character who is asexual and aromantic

gundham doesn't desire any romantic and/or sexual relationship and he is comfortable in his body (p.s. if you are an asexual or aromantic who does desire a sexual or romantic relationship you're just as valid)

gundham is like the lgbtqia+ dad?? like he loves helping gay kids figure out their sexualities and he loves teaching them labels, he knows so much

he struggled with his identity for a long time and when he finally realized he isn't "broken" or "alien" he was so happy!

i headcanon sakura as queer!

queer: an umbrella term for sexual and gender minorities who are not heterosexual or are not cisgender. 

i love seeing independent strong queer women, they are so beautiful and it's very empowering

i say queer instead of lesbian because i feel that lesbian doesn't cover her sexuality

sakura doesn't fuss with labels too much, she thinks queer fits her just perfectly and it perfectly gets across what she is

she definitely attends a lot of pride parades with aoi and she sure is active in them

she would carry aoi on her shoulders and have aoi wave around a poster that says love is love

della: trans/nb lesbian :) in a reversal of what i'm pretty sure was the deal with most people, it doesn't take della long to figure out what's up with her gender but it takes her a lot longer to realize she likes girls and exclusively girls. after one particularly bad fling she asks me if there's a reason why she just doesn't feel anything for any of the guys she's been with, like is there something wrong with her, and i just go. you know you can...not date guys. and somehow that's when it clicks for her (the bad fling is the bio father of the kids. he's a dick and he sucks and everything i imagine about him is just a fuck you to the people who never shut up about hdl's biological dad. donald's doing great thank you very much)

mera: her aesthetic is the most nonbinary lesbian thing i've ever seen in my life HELLO. she makes one comment insinuating she's physically attracted to indus in ep 1 but that could just be admiration of his buff bod. mera's comphet attraction is overly buff muscleguys who are nice to her and my comphet attraction is tiny gremlin things who are the worst.

all the kids (especially the girls) are a little bit in awe of their Extremely Cool aunt suki

izumi, especially, is close to her - suki is zuko’s bodyguard so she spends a lot of time with her in the fire nation

when izumi wants to wander around the city without being recognized, she asks suki to disguise her as a kyoshi warrior

she also trains bumi to fight in the kyoshi style. she draws the line at teaching him chi-blocking, though, because she knows full well he’ll try to use it on his siblings

suki spends tons of time teaching lin and suyin self-defence. lin especially adores it and will look for any excuse to spend more time with her

when lin and tenzin break up, lin is devastated. tenzin starts dating pema pretty much immediately and lin isn’t only heartbroken, she’s genuinely insulted that tenzin just went straight to another woman

lin is lin, though, and she puts on a brave face and pretends not to care. suki sees right through it and the first time lin lets herself cry over the breakup is when suki hugs her. lin feels almost embarrassed going to sokka and suki about it (they’re tenzin’s aunt and uncle!) but sokka shuts it down and tells her that he considers toph a sister, and that makes them family too

the first time lin sees tenzin after they break up, she just loses it - that’s when she nearly destroys air temple island with her earthbending. suki’s the one who calms her down

well, kya doesn’t actually need help finding a girlfriend, but bumi insists on being her wingman anyway

she first comes out when she’s 13. he and aang decide that to demonstrate their support, they find her a girlfriend. katara rolls her eyes and tries to convince them that there are other ways to be allies, but when bumi and aang decide something they are unstoppable

bumi has absolutely no gaydar and tends to accidentally flirt with lesbians on the regular. when they tell him they’re gay he grins with delight and says “oh! my sister’s gay too! would you like me to set you up??” the girls are pleasantly surprised

by the time kya is 18 she has a string of exes. bumi and aang quickly realise that their wingman efforts are futile since kya apparently has no trouble dating girls. they decide to be Super Extra Allies instead. they wear matching shirts that say I SUPPORT MY GAY SISTER (aang’s says daughter, of course). they hang a pride flag in the balcony. they buy rainbow mugs. kya is extremely embarrassed but she secretly loves her dorky brother and dad. this turned into a slightly modern AU but it’s fine just go with it

I had this friend I met in the Hetalia fandom in like 8th-9th grade who was like, a lot older than me (I was like 12-13 when we met and she was like 17 or so), and we were REALLY close for a really long time, we'd talk and call every day and it got to a point where she was really dependent on me in this awful way where she would like constantly threaten suicide if I didn't answer her texts fast enough and shit like that. She was really rich cuz her dad was a doctor and one time she bought me an entire fucking Xbox One (I did not ask for it like... I'd always been a PlayStation gamer LOL) because she didn't have anyone to play Halo with her. My family still has it and uses it as a DVD player/Netflix machine.

Anyway the really batshit thing about this person (BESIDES the fact that she was like, definitely a pedophile who loved shota and frequently sexted me after she'd turned 18+ and I was like 14 and she also had both a bestiality and incest fetish that she'd talk to me about constantly — I was a kid I had no moral concept of anything and just liked being edgy and feeling mature) was that she was like. A chronic liar who constantly faked identities. And for years after cutting off contact with her I would look back and realize that she had faked even more than I had noticed at the time. The thing is, I knew for sure she wasn't lying about her home life -- Her address, what she looked like, her dad's profession, her age, her house, her pets, etc, were all things I had proof of. But when I knew her she was constantly remaking her Tumblr to escape drama she'd start, and she would constantly make side blogs under pseudonyms and pretend it wasn't her (sometimes it would be random shit like aesthetic blogs under different names or ask blogs for characters or smthn, other times it was like, callout blogs for people she had gotten into drama with where she would pretend to be someone else defending her). I assumed back then that I was always going to be in on it, because she would always tell me whenever she made one of these fake accounts, and sometimes she would encourage me to make a new account too as a sort of roleplay thing where we both pretended to be people we weren't... Until I learned that she wasn't always telling me. Every so often, I would become mutuals with a new account who would start messaging me about my interests and strike a conversation with me. Then something would slip and my "new mutual" would admit that they had actually been my friend all along... Which should have made me immediately cut contact because that's weird as shit, but I was young and she was a close friend, so I would just sorta accept it.

She ended up being like, horrifically transphobic. She got run off her blog twice for being specifically transmisogynistic, first insisting that she was allowed to headcanon canon trans women as feminine men and then on her next blog insisting that lesbians couldn't be attracted to trans women. I was still young and closeted and she was one of my closest friends and was constantly messaging me that the situation was making her suicidal and she was just wording things wrong and totally supported trans people and people just weren’t giving her the benefit of the doubt and she was still learning so I tried to just stay out of it without losing her. Then... I came out as trans lol. She stopped replying to me when I first came out and then made a bunch of vents on her tumblr about how much it upset her and about how “using he/him pronouns for AFAB people is triggering” for whatever fucking reason. She told me her “best IRL friend” who she had introduced me to once on Skype but who never logged in again after and who refused to ever do a group call or anything (definitely another fake account) said that it was irrational for me to expect my friends to respect my pronouns so soon after coming out and that I shouldn’t be upset if I get misgendered. Then she apologized but told me my name and pronouns would never fit me. As you can imagine, as a little baby trans kid who was closeted from my family and terrified of even having come to terms with being trans, I didn’t really have a great defense.

Soon she started being really woke like 2014 style Tumblr SJW to save face, she came out as nonbinary and told me in private it was because she felt bad when people called her cis during discourse (she absolutely wasn't nonbinary) and she coined a "new sexuality" that was "attraction only to people you perceive as feminine, regardless of how they identify" -- what this actually meant was "attraction to cis women and not trans women." She ran an aroace help blog despite not being aroace? And made a bunch of pride flags that I still see around sometimes to this day. She would start fights a lot and try to out-woke people and got into a bunch of drama with other SJW types of the day, got into a bunch of drama with TumblrInAction and Mogai-Watch and shit like that, and she claimed for a short while that she had a headmate (FWIW I totally believe DID is a legitimate thing but like. Trust me on this one.) who was transphobic and that it made her so sad, she told me that it was actually that headmate that had been transphobic before, and every so often her headmate would front out of nowhere and misgender me and use really abusive language like calling me a cunt or a bitch or whatever. She started making these "intersex nonbinary" OCs who she would constantly make porn of under the guise that they were representation for LGBT people who were just like, extremely fetishistic cuntboys and dickgirls (they were “intersex” to explain why they could be “girls with natal penises” or “boys with natal vaginas”).

At that same time, she somehow always managed to have these random, very sporadically active trans women mutuals who were apparently amazing friends of hers, who shared some interests with her but also would defend her when people brought up her past, with these long-winded “Well, I’m a trans woman and I think what she said is perfectly justified and everyone makes mistakes and she’s always been a good ally!!” Then one day some trans woman received an ask from her account where she claimed to be a “black trans woman” (she was, of course, a white cis woman) and she freaked out and claimed she had “been hacked by TiA or 4Chan to make her look bad” — I realize now she had just been sending anon messages pretending to be things she wasn’t and forgot to hit anon LOL. Late in all of this she also got into a bunch of hot water for being really antisemitic and saying she didn’t trust Jewish people because they were just like Christians and like, 5 seconds later she came out as Jewish and wrote this whole long sad vent about how she had had internalized antisemitism and then started going by a random Hebrew name LMAO.

In the end the final breaking point was when I found her secret TERF blog, where she had been making posts for months about how trans men are just insecure women who are trying to escape misogyny by stepping on the backs of “fellow women” and using me as a fucking example, and also saying that me not coming out as a trans man had been “basically rape” since she had been SEXTING me when she was 18+ and I was 13-14+ and that it was traumatic to know someone she had trusted was secretly identifying as a man LMAO. She was also obviously saying all sorts of transmisogynistic things, but also had these really bizarre fetish posts about wanting trans women to fuck her...? I confronted her about it and she literally fucking out of nowhere told me that she was in the emergency room with a mysterious illness that might kill her and she was allowed to have her phone but due to privacy laws couldn’t send a picture as proof. While “in the hospital” she deleted the TERF blog and her personal blog. I had known her for literal YEARS at this point (we had met when I was 12-13 or so and by the time we no longer spoke I was a few months from 17), and I was completely stunned to fucking hear this person trying to pull “I’m in the hospital with a deadly disease” at being confronted for some shit like that LMAO. I made a post about it on my public and another “trans woman friend” of hers logged in to vehemently defend her by saying that there’s nothing wrong with AFAB women being untrusting of trans people because female oppression is uniquely traumatic and that there’s nothing wrong with women expressing their sexuality by sexting minors as long as the minor consents and that I was the real predator for “hiding that I was a man” (remember, I’d been a 13 year old closeted trans boy), before never logging in again... 😭 One of the last times we ever talked was when she demanded I refund her for the fucking Xbox and I refused.

Anyway, the long-term aftermath of that is that a few people online (in some random cringe areas of the internet) who archived some of her antics still think that I also wasn’t a real person, since they caught onto how much she lied about too, so they think I was also a sock puppet and I have no interest in clarifying and making myself known to those people LOL. I have no fucking idea where she is now, she deactivated everything after her being a TERF came out. There’s like, so much more to that I could say because I knew her for YEARS and, like I said, she was one of my “closest friends.” Her parents had wildly expensive pure bred designer dogs that she would make Vines of. She wrote Beatles real person fan fiction. For her birthday one year I made her a shirt on Zazzle with an inside joke about one of her OCs... does she still have that? Either way, she was easily the most batshit person I’ve ever known closely online and I will forever associate the Hetalia fandom with people like that.

Even now, as a lesbian myself, I still grapple with some guilt and shame when seeking out wlw content (something terfs do not help with in the slightest)

a/n: Written for Fraxus Week Eve! I’m not sure if I’ll be able to write something for every single of the nine prompts of the Fraxus Week but I’ll definitely try! So I hope you’ll enjoy the first one <3

June is the month of pride. There's a lot of days for a lot of different things, persons, events... but many of them seem to be chosen at random. Pride month is different. It's important, and exists for a definite reason.

Magnolia is a tolerant town. One would rarely come across hostile people that are resident in the very town. Visitors and new members, however, could cause issues. And unfortunately, even though one should be able to expect it since it's only natural, there are still too many people who dismiss (and worse) the wide range of perfectly normal sexualities and identities.

As Freed sat in the middle of the crowded guild hall, he couldn't help but think of how lucky he was with all the people he had gathered around him. His friends, his true family members and – of course – his boyfriend. For as long as he could remember those people had shown him nothing but understanding and tolerance, and not only regarding his sexuality. That he was gay hadn't been a secret for all too long – and they had made coming out so much easier.

He's had a quite rocky start with all of them, and it had been his fault entirely. He'd been lost in a vision that was delusional and wrong. He didn't have to keep to himself and Laxus and the Raijinshuu. He wasn't better than them. They were all equal, and this is what a true precious bond was like.

He understood it now, and it was all thanks to them. Them, who had forgiven all four of them for the horrible deeds they had committed.

Glancing around Freed watched the mayhem unfold. It was loud and chaotic as usual; they were partying. Every evening was a reason to party this month. Then again, wasn't it always? It sure felt like this around here and if this feeling would get dimmed then there would definitely be something missing.

Silently, he reached for his mug of beer. Wine tended to be his preferred drink but this was one of the moments at which an ice-cold beer was irreplaceable. It was even better sharing the gesture with his boyfriend who was sitting next to him in comfortable silence, shaking his head upon hearing Natsu shout something incoherent.

“I give him five seconds.”

“Five seconds for what?”

“Till Erza steps in,” Laxus responded nonchalantly and imitate Freed's previous gesture. Reaching for the mug he took a big sip. “There she is.”

Right on cue the familiar redhead had caught her target. The rune mage followed her with his eyes and his lips twitched, hinting an incoming smirk. It was typical. “I'd be interested to know where Bixlow is,” he then added and turned his head now looking at Laxus.

The blond shrugged. “I've no damn clue where he went.”

“Perhaps it's better not to know.”

“What, you thinkin' he's making out with somebody in some random corner of the guild?”

Freed snorted. What? Bixlow, making out with somebody? He wasn't the type to just grab somebody and go for it. Bixlow could get flirty for fun but that was it. His best friend was also one of the only heterosexual people in the guild but he was a damn great ally and supporter to have. And on top of that he knew that he had laid his eyes on somebody; or at least that's what Freed assumed.

“That's not what I'm worrying about.”

“Right. He's not the type.”

“Then who is?”

Laxus just wanted to empty his mug but he paused. Freed was looking at him with a subtly raised brow and all the dragon slayer could do was to show a small grin, fangs showing slightly. “We are.”

At that, Freed couldn't help but give a short, deep laugh. He knew that this was an attempt to flirt and he gladly welcomed this attempt. Honestly, Laxus wasn't exactly wrong either. There had been the one or other time they had sneaked into a hall way just to get rid of some tension – non sexual! - and just to share some kisses and quick, almost innocent roaming hands.

The Raijinshuu's captain just wanted to respond when he cut himself off as suddenly Laxus and him got hugged together and he felt a kiss getting pressed to his cheek.

“You're what? Adorable? Too silent right now? Party poopers? A perfect match? Enlighten us!” Cana had slung her arm around the two men and grinned. The scent of alcohol wafted from her but that wasn't anything unusual. She was far from being drunk.

While Cana had also placed a quick peck on Laxus' cheek, Mirajane had been the one to press her lips against Freed's. She too was having one slender arm wrapped around her friends and chuckled at the brunette's retort. “I don't think there were talking about any of this, Cana.”

“And we're not damn adorable,” Laxus grumbled.

“I would argue against this, Laxus.” Mirajane hummed in her sweet voice.

“And you're not denying the other options?” Cana asked and removed her arms from the two men to jump onto the table to sit down on it. She almost ended up knocking over Laxus' mug as he had set it back down on the tabletop. Almost.

“We're no party poopers.” This time it was Freed who spoke and he took a sip of his own drink before putting his mug next to Laxus'. “We're pre-partying.”

“Pre-partying?” Cana spluttered out a charming laugh, then she shook her head. “Right, whatever yer sayin' big boss. But yer definitely too silent and a perfect match.”

The couple was comfortable being silent, watching their guild mates and conversing every once in a while. If the mood struck or the opportunity was there then they'd join whatever was going on. But for now they were perfectly fine; everybody seemed happy. They were happy.

“Thought so. Yer not arguing against those,” Cana continued and grabbed Laxus' mug of beer to empty it. It earned her a scowl from the dragon slayer but she hardly cared.

“No, we aren't,” Freed responded and the hint of a smile became visible on his face. It was genuine. Mira took note of this tiny change in his expression, and had to smile silently to herself.

It was silent for a moment then. Cana dragged the back of her hand along her mouth and crossed her legs while Mira watched how Laki and Kinana were having some sort of challenge with Lisanna and Levy.

There was something different about the atmosphere. The atmosphere became hardly ever negative when Fairy Tail partied but there was just something about this that made a change. Perhaps it was the colorfully decorated guild; colors of all pride and identify flags were gracing the big hall. Mirajane had the lesbian flag drawn on her cheeks while Cana had a bisexual one on hers.

Lucy was running around with a top in bisexual colors. Natsu wore a chain in demisexual colors. Gray was wearing a bisexual tie around his neck. Both Gajeel and Juvia shared pansexual colored best friend shirts. Evergreen wore a flower in her hair that was painted in demisexual colors and Mest wore a rainbow sleeveless shirt. Levy had a bisexuality bow in her hair, Erza had a bisexuality flag painted on her arm and so had Lisanna. Everyone had something to express themselves as obviously as possible.

Freed and Laxus were no exception. It had taken some convincing on Laxus' side but in the end they had agreed to both wear flag necklaces; the gay one for Freed and the demisexual one for Laxus. Freed's necklace had the shape of a lightning bolt while Laxus' necklace had the shape of sword.

Both had silently admitted to themselves that these chains were rather nice. They would keep them, definitely.

Though not only that. Pride month made it even easier to share affection in public. Of course, screw people who believe that any other couples than heterosexual ones should be allowed to show an exchange of chaste affection openly. Screw them anyway, yes, screw them. But it was still easier around this time.

Cana and Mirajane had vanished in the crowed again. Freed observed how Mirajane joined her brother and sister whilst Cana playfully slung and arm around poor Levy who got startled by the sudden approach. It had the brunette laugh heartily and utter a quick apology, making the script mage pout.

A quite light-hearted play, all of it, and Freed got himself to reveal another genuine smile that he didn't feel the need to suppress this time.

It was then that he felt a touch on his hand. Instinctively, he looked down and spotted another hand on his. He didn't need to wonder who this hand belonged to. He had felt and held it so many times in so many different ways; he would always recognize the feel of those fingers touching his.

Looking back up he stared right into orange eyes. Laxus' mien was unreadable, his usual stoic face. But there was something soft in his eyes, something Freed knew.

Slowly, he intertwined his fingers with Laxus' under the table. It wasn't often that they would hold hands at the guild, or at all really, and every time was special. This stage of their bond had taken some gotten used to. Now it felt so natural to be like this. To be open about their romantic feelings for each other and do couple things.

It had been a little awkward especially for the dragon slayer at first so having him initiate such actions meant even more than some might assume.

Finally, there was the hint of a smile on Laxus' face right back at him. He silently appreciated the gesture and the fact that Freed reciprocated it. The eye-contact didn't last long and they went back to enjoying each other's presence in silence for now. Their shoulders were touching fondly, their hands linked and right now they couldn't think of anything better to do.

Apart from, maybe, spending some time with their closest friends who now joined them at their table again with Evergreen continuously scolding Bixlow for anything he had done.

And honestly, it was such little things as well that they knew that everything was okay and how it was supposed to be.

1. dendy      -autistic, wears a kids union suit to deal with sensory issues (she knows it’s pajamas but she doesn’t care!)      -wears red rubber boots for keeping her socks safe from puddles and mud      -pokemon cards are her favorite thing instead of pow cards, since i figured they were analogous. they're her and ko’s mutual special interest. she carries her whole collection in her backpack “in case of catastrophe” and as a comfort item      -has a ds and a laptop in her backpack too. still calls it her hackpack even though she cant hack things with magical powers because ko named it that      -shes native american. i thought about making her japanese because kappas are japanese water demons, but with the whole “nerdy emotionless asian sidekick” stereotype being a big thing, i thought that would be gross and stereotypical. instead i made her a member of the oneida tribe and part of the turtle family clan. the colonization of the kappas in-show mirrored the colonization of real world native american and first nations people, so i thought it would be neat for her to be first nations. i made her oneida because their clan, the turtle clan, is responsible for the keeping of the environment and the keeping of knowledge, and with dendy’s hackpack/her fixing things and her being a kappa i thought that would be both appropriate and pretty cool!

2. ko      -hes already human, i suppose, but i made him less “hero-y” in the sense that he dresses like he could actually be a hero in real life and more the way kids are obsessed with heroes in our world. hence, spiderman!      -watched a bunch of safety psas for riding bikes and misinterpreted them so now he wears kneepads and a bike helmet everywhere      -carol ironed on the spiderman onto a plain cotton t-shirt cuz ko has sensory stuff that prevent him from wearing most merchandise      -also autistic plus has adhd! special interests are pokemon and spiderman; he never stops talking about them      -hates shoes but that’s already canon      -i made him white cuz i’m kin with him and that’s pretty much it!

3. rad      -oh, rad, you really are a 16 year old boy now aren’t you?      -mesh muscle tank top because of course he would. highlighter yellow running shorts and nike sneakers because he likes the aesthetic of being on the track team. he says he didn’t join the track team because it would cut into his me time but really he didn’t make the team and is too embarrassed to admit it :(      -he wears weed socks but hes never seen a weed in real life. he thinks you eat the leaves      -he and enid get their ears pierced together. he has four piercings on his ears and used to have a belly button ring but he didn’t like it so he let it heal. his parents are happy he expresses himself, even when hes being macho or emo or whatever strikes his fancy that day      -hes pretty much ian’s self insert so hes a second generation ghanaian immigrant just like ian.
