idk if this is accurate but i’ve felt like in previous seasons riz & gorgug have been one of the inter-bad kids dynamics we’ve seen the least of & this season has been so great in that aspect. gorgug having helped make some of riz’s magic gear. riz helping gorgug with his studies. the shared birthday party. gorgug’s gift to riz being something he himself made to protect riz. riz’s gift to gorgug being something he illegally grabbed to protect gorgug. gorgug who utilizes rage to put his body on the line for his friends & riz who will take deep levels of mental stress for his friends. even though it was within the context of a joke, riz calling gorgug an “absolute sweetie.” like yea they might not be in a band together or both part of a presidential campaign team or owlbears teammates, but they’d go to war for each other, because they’re best friends.

I try to keep everything sorted by fandom, but if it’s really that big of an issue, I guess I can start tagging things. I know my blog is a hot mess, I know I need to keep it organized better, but I can’t really find it in me to try & get things organized. One of these days tho, I do plan on bringing some order to this dumpster fire

But if you really think it’s that weird, you can always just… leave. My interest is clearly not yours, & that’s fine! To each their own & all, but that is the kind of content I post the most. i do think the amount of comparisons between black sails and ofmd - both favorable and unfavorable tbh - is a little out of hand lmao like even before the flint vs stede poll there was a lot of it and its like. they are completely different shows with completely different goals. i just saw someone call ofmd a "black sails ripoff" and honestly what the fuck are you talking about. is black sails a pirates of the caribbean ripoff?? is there only allowed to be one television show about pirates and everything else is a copy?? or is it just the fact that there are also gay characters in it? im just like there are PLENTY of real and good criticisms why does it always come back to this. let them exist separately

I feel like it’s totally fair at this point to say that a majority of the problems in LMK’s writing come back to the crew being too heavily involved and close to fan content.

Getting involved in a fandom of your own property may seem like fun, but it’s best you wait until after your part in the story is done.

Heck, iirc, a lot of issues with the Dragon Ball Super dub stemmed back to “Christopher Sabat wanted to make a joke that fans on twitter would giggle at” so this isn’t even the first time I’ve seen this sort of thing.

This is just the most obvious example of it.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m still really into LMK and I still do think it’s awesome. I still like the writing of the show and I still have faith that they can salvage this and pull back from “implying fanon they like”. It’s just that with every new bit of the show that comes out, my fan content is feeling less like “What if I expand on this concept?” and more like fix-it fics
