“Sink the Rich”
Based on the recent orcas attacking sail boats near Spain, thanks to what they think is white gladis teaching other orcas within their pod on how to capsize sailboats/yachts. Manifesting the energy of them dealing with a certain billionaires boats.
I’ve been busy with work and getting suits done and out.
Plan to make this into merch or something maybe

1) imagine for me. As always. Tiny baby jellyneil he's SO tiny 😭
2) octopus makes me think of squid and now I'm imagining baby squean (squid Jean) being hand-cupping size like Neil and crying a little
3) I actually have no idea who if anyone would be an octopus, I know we haven't decided on a couple of the foxes but none of the options I've considered so far have been octopus - not that none of them can be, it just hasn't been in my brain! But tiny mers live in my head CONSTANTLY augh I love them

#my art#it’s mako mermaid au time let’s fucking go. but I ignored the iconic tail design from the show for reasons of fun.#grian#pearlecentmoon#geminitay#impulsesv#jimmy solidarity#goodtimeswithscar#cubfan135#so pretty much how it starts is: Grian Pearl Gem Impulse and Jimmy are all mermaids. Scar and Cub work at a marine tours/museum type place.#cub’s in the museum area and scar leads diving tours off the mainland. they decide to look around the island to see if there’s anything the#should propose adding to the museum or tours. they spend the night and Scar falls into the moon pool. he gets dragged back to the surface#and figures it was a really weird dream so he and Cub go back to the mainland. meanwhile Gen Pearl Impulse Grian and Jimmy are freaking out#about what to do because a random human just fell into the moon pool during a full moon. they end up getting kicked out of the pod to go fi#this mess. Pearl ends up getting a moon ring from (undecided likely mermaid watcher character) and they end up getting legs via magic.#shenanigans ensue. it’s summer so they’re pretending to be tourists. and no they aren’t trying to track Scar down to kill him. just make hi#not a mermaid anymore. he probably won’t die from it. cub ends up finding out about the whole ‘scar is a mermaid’ thing pretty quickly and#decides to help out. especially with the whole hiding it while doing diving tours thing. more characters do appear but this lot’s the main#cast of the au.#by the way. fishy order is: sand devil shark- epaulette shark- orca(not a fishy)- clown loach- eviota sigillata- and guppy’s

I am so heartbroken and angry right now…Tokitae, aka Lolita or Sk’aliCh’elh-tenaut, the orca at the Miami Seaquarium has died at 57 years old. As a four year old in 1970 she was VIOLENTLY captured from her pod in Puget Sound, for our entertainment. She was the last surviving orca captured in the Salish Sea, after 53 years in captivity, in what equated to a fish bowl. She lived her life in a tank that if it was you, would be like living in a bathtub. She was going home to her pod, plans were well underway to have her go to a sanctuary where she could at least see her family…her mother Ocean Sun or L25 is still alive! She's 95 years old and still kicking. Years ago someone played the L pod songs to Toki and she recognized them and went into a frenzy…she would have still recognized her mother and vice versa. But now she'll never have the chance…she was so close! My only hope for her now is that they do the right thing and send her body to the Lhaq’temish (Lummi) people of her home turf so that they can put her to rest the right way. She deserves at least that much. My heart hasn't hurt like this since Tilikum passed away, and sure, some people will say get over it, it's just an animal but no, it feels like I've lost a loved one.

pooltoy character but in a world where "object" type characters can choose to make objects attached to them "part" of them. so they can put on a strap on harness and it feels like having a real dick. i might do this with the dolphin pooltoy character i have in the works...

Star Commander Sealth, I wonder if you and Tolkitai are aware of the history of my 'Mech - and history it contains. I imagine it may of particular interest to Tolkitai.

(OOC: I know you're familiar, but in-universe, Melissa would be curious about their reactions)
(A long silence from the orca, which is currently floating in a tactical interface tank, essentially a large mobile fish tank for an apex predator. Sealth looks for a moment at the cetacean, who suddenly begins to move, the indicator lights on his cybornetics flashing.) "He says...it is good to see the bones of the Colonel reaping once again. Here spirit will not be sated unless this new Highlander draws as much blood as hers did. There's a very good chance some of his flesh may be in there as well, depending on where her Highlander collapsed and was later recovered. He hopes you use it to bring further honor to his matri-line." (More flashing from the orca) "He notes that it is a mild shame there is not a piece of General Dechevalie's Atlas as well, so that it would be a walking monument to the final fall of the Usurper. With you representing Elizabeth Hazen, of course. You will have to forgive him for the social faux pas, no one informed him of the fate of the Grandfather's right hand until recently. He has been on ice practically since the Star League fell."
(Sealth looks up) "Personally, as a pilot of a very slow and not particularly agile artillery Mech, the presence of additional anti-missile systems and the sheer force it can bring to bear is a comforting thought. If I am to march with a Star, I like knowing there is an umbrella of missile protection above me, and that our missiles will strike even more true than before."

J-pod (1 of 3 pods that make up the critically endangered Southern Resident orca population and my favorite of the 3 pods) showed up right by the San Juan island shore THE DAY AFTER I LEFT THE ISLAND. Screaming thrashing crying and also laughing my ass off. I wait my whole life to go to the island, have spent 20 years studying and obsessing over this very specific group of killer whales, and they pop by the day 👏 after 👏 I leave the island for the first time. You know, the island I moved 3k miles across the country to have access to? Specifically because it’s where these orcas are most often observed and where they’re studied? That one.
