Disaster Twins Karaoke Battle (alt title: Getting Hyped for the Next Lair Games)

These sketches are old, but I couldn't let National TMNT Day pass without showing my appreciation in some way. I drew these some months ago, while listening to the song Stalemate from the Death Note musical yes, that's a thing, go check it out on loop, and forgot to post them. The song is a bop and I could so easily see the twins loving it, and loving to perform it even more. Massive theatre nerds, the both of them, no one can convince me otherwise.

(In my mind, Leo is singing Jeremy's part and Donnie is singing Jarrod's, but it's interchangeable.)

They spun across the ballroom, like the centrifuges back home in Enver's study. Around and around, partriars young and old alike danced with care-free enthusiasm. The bards onstage played a dreamy ballad, that drifted across the golden-draped ball room of the Ducal Hall. Light fell from chandeliers draped in a million diamonds. In that moment, Durge felt like a young girl again, dreamily watching the figures twirl in her music box.

She had imagined once, before her urges carved her into a beast, that she might find herself one day at a ball much like this. She would be draped in finery, tongue loose with vintage port, and laughing daintily along with the other noble ladies. A handsome duke would approach her, ask for her hand in a waltz, and eventually her hand in marriage. She would establish herself among these people, and live a relaxed life, full of dances and feasts and fortunes.

However, she was no longer the girl who imagined herself dancing in silk, and instead dreamed of bathing in blood. She mourned the taste of port and the sound of laughter as she leaned against a banner pole, sipping Esmelter Red from the handmaidens'' table. She was draped in finery, though she felt out of place and far from graceful. The duke she imagined danced with another.

Gortash bowed deeply, before extracting himself from Lady Jannath mid-dance. Though he kept a curt smile on his face, his expression turned to a sour scowl as he approached Durge. He extended a hand to her upon arrival, and did not wait for a response. He took her drink from her hand, placing it on a nearby server's tray, before leading her to the floor. Durge looked at him quizzically, as he positioned himself, hand around her waist, for a waltz. "I have grown quite bored of entertaining Lady Jannath for the night. She's as dull as a knoll. I would much prefer to dance with someone more interesting. Such as yourself, my nearest and dearest."

SO! One day, as I was reading one of @morning-sun-brah’s stories (as one should, they’re absolutely incredible) & as usual, whenever there’s any form of “x reader” stories, I always imagine any of my OC’s in those stories to specific characters I have them together in already in my own works (especially in that story Sweat, oh ma goodness I’m still not over that story) & I was randomly struck with a musically creative mindset once again! It had been a while since I was able to write any of my pieces & to finally pick it back up after many moons had been so refreshing to me & I couldn't wait to pick it back up again! Even with writing out theme pieces for either an arrangement or music composition contest or my own Hollow Knight vessel, this was far from the norm that I would ever do & I am so incredibly happy with how far I've come as a musician & writer/composer!

And now, after over a year, having a lot of writer’s block for this & just overall needing some time away from it, I finally finished my fucking composition piece! It’s so very dear to my heart because it’s the first piece I’ve written for ANY of my OC’s that I’ve had since I was in elementary/middle school & to think that one day, I would be writing for them after all these years! This is the first of many, many, more to come for my composition works outside the realm & I cannot wait to share them with everyone!
