Stadt der Commedia dell'arte – Der listige Diener Pulcinella

Wie sollte man sich Neapel, der Stadt der Überforderung anders entziehen, als sich ihr zu überlassen. Die Gassen der Vielgeliebten gleichen den Armen einer Frau, die einen umfängt, und mit Haut und Haaren verspeist. Neapel ist anstrengend, erbarmungslos und überfordernd, unmäßig, gnadenlos und stets auf der Überholspur. Wohin man auch blickt, immer begegnet man dem alles überragenden Sehnsuchtsort und der permanenten Bedrohung, dem Vesuv. Nirgendwo anders lebt es sich so nahe an der Katastrophe wie hier. Noch schläft der graue Riese, aber niemand vermag zu sagen, wie lange noch. Er könnte jederzeit erwachen. Der Vesuv ist der am besten kontrollierte Schläfer unter den Vulkanen weltweit. Es ist noch nicht lange her, dass die Phlegräischen Felder, ein Gebiet von etwa zweihundert Quadratkilometer rund um die Vororte Neapels ins Visier der Vulkanologen kamen. Es tat sich was unter der Erde, und die Welt blickte gebannt an den Golf und rund um die Riesenstadt, während die Einwohner lebten so wie bisher - als sei nichts geschehen. 

Neapel ist schmutzig

Neapel lebt von seinen Kontrasten. Ignoranz und Opportunismus, Kreativität und Unternehmertum, Chaos und die Sehnsucht nach Ordnung – während das anderswo Gegensätze sind, machen gerade sie in Summe das quirlige, bestens unorganisierte Leben in der putzmunteren Stadt aus, deren Überlebensstrategie die Sucht nach Leben ist. Bühne frei also, der Alltag ist bestens inszenierte Commedia dell‘arte: stets überraschend und immer spontan. Alleine die Größe und Dimension des Bühnenbildes steht in keinem Verhältnis zur Enge der Piazettas und Hinterhöfe. Vielleicht ist es ja auch gerade der Gegensatz zwischen den verwahrlosten Gassen und den schicken Kolonaden, dem pittoresken Schrecken der mafiosen Vierteln und dem betörend großstädtischen Lungomare, den Garküchen in Pignasecca oder entlang der Spaccanapoli (der die Stadt durchschneidenden Flaniermeile), und den mondänen Speisetempeln rund um die Galeria Umberto I. 

Glauben und Aberglauben pochen in den Adern der Stadt. Es ist der Puls des Südens, der stets am Überkochen ist. Die Häuser schmiegen sich aneinander, an den Straßenecken quillt der Unrat aus den brüchigen Poren der Fassaden, die Wäschestücke werden quer über die Straßen von Fenster zu Fenster gezogen, und die blau-weißen Fahnen und Wimpel des vergötterten Fußballklubs schaukeln lustig im Wind.

Fußball - Neapel ist Endspiel. Täglich. Die Stadt ist in den Augenblick verliebt und fußballverrückt wie kaum eine andere italienische Stadt. Und das will was heißen. Der Verein SSC Napoli ist eng mit dem argentinischen Weltmeisterspieler Diego Maradona verbunden, der hier von 1984 bis 1991 aktiv war. Aus dieser Zeit resultieren die ersten beiden der drei Meistertitel des Klubs, sowie der Gewinn des UEFA-Pokals. Seit dem Tod des Fußballgottes im Jahre 2020 trägt die Spielstätte des Vereins den Namen „Stadio Diego Armando Maradona“. An Heimspieltagen gleicht die Stadt einem Hexenkessel, an „fußball-freien“ Tagen ist mindestens so viel los. Neapel hat ein  riesiges hellblau-weißes Herz, das einem Fußball-Laberl gleicht.

Stufen - Rund zweihundert Treppen winden sich hügelauf und hügelab. Geschäftig wie die Ameisen laufen die Neapolitaner hinauf und hinunter, bepackt wie die Maultiere, ausgelassen schnatternd, an jeder Ecke einen Vino Rosso oder einen Espresso kippend, ein Pläuschchen hier und da und weiter geht’s, immer den höchsten Punkt im Visier, immer zu Späßen aufgelegt, über Wetter und Lotto lamentierend, schimpfend und stöhnend, zankend und scherzend.  

Stadt der schönen Gassen und der Stufen

Häuser - Kaum wo habe ich so verschiedenartige Stadtbilder serviert bekommen, wie in der Stadt am Rande des Vulkans. Jugendstil, Bauhaus, Klassizistisch oder Renaissance. Ob verfallen oder herausgeputzt, markig oder ruinös – sogar die Stadtarchitektur spielt verrückt und turnt an der Grenze von geschmacklos bis grandios – und gar die Hinterhöfe! 

Neapels vielfältige Architektur

Kunst - Neapel ist ein einziges Kunstwerk. Das beginnt und endet … in der U-Bahn: „Duomo“ oder „Piazza Dante“, „Cavour“, „Toledo“ oder „Garibaldi“. Von achtzehn U-Bahnhöfen sind immerhin elf ausgewiesene Museen. Aussteigen, bewundern, Rolltreppe rauf, Rolltreppe runter und – weiterfahren. Mit dem Preis eines Tickets kann man einen Tag lang moderne Kunst bewundern: mehr als zweihundert Kunstwerke von insgesamt hundert zeitgenössischen Künstlern stehen im Angebot. Günstiger ist Kunst und Architektur nirgendwo zu bewundern. Die Station „Toledo“ wurde vom spanischen Architekten und Designer Oscar Tusquets gestaltet - der staunende Passagier findet sich am tiefblauen Meeresgrund wieder. In der Station „Dante“ gibt es neben einem dreißig Meter langen Mosaik des italienischen Malers Nicola de Maria, eine ebenso monumentale Arte Povera Arbeit „Gefesselte Schuhe“, in der Station „Universita“ eine knallbunte Rockabilly-Zuckerlwelt…

Piazza Plebescito - Früher war’s ein Parkplatz, in den 1990ern besann man sich seiner Geschichte und schuf, ganz in der Nähe zum Castel Nuovo einen der großzügigsten und spektakulärsten Plätze der Welt - der ein geheimnisvolles Spiel bereit hält: Man verbinde sich die Augen und versuche von der Mitte des Platzes aus in gerader Linie zwischen den beiden Reiterstauen auf den monumentalen Marmor-Säulengang der „Chiesa San Francesco di Paola“ zuzugehen. Nicht wundern, das ansteigende Straßenniveau verhindert jeden diesbezüglichen Versuch: Man endet dort, wo man nicht hinwollte: Genau auf der anderen Seite, vor dem „Palazzo Reale“.

Altäre - Nur in Rom gibt es mehr Kirchen als zu Füßen des Vesuvs. Religion, wohin man blickt. Vielleicht auch weil es ständig etwas zu erbitten gilt: Schutz und das Bewahren vor der nächsten Katastrophe. Das letzte große Beben ist ja erst achtzig Jahre her. Altäre gibt es in Neapel an jeder Straßenecke, nicht nur die für den argentinischen Fußballgott. Auch der sehr reale Gott des Kleinen Mannes will angebetet werden. Daneben auch noch der der Automobile …

Untere Stadt - Im Tuffgestein, tief unterhalb der Stadt, verbirgt sich eine andere Welt - die der neapolitanischen Unterwelt, und die hat ausnahmsweise nichts mit der Mafia zu tun, eher schon mit dem weitverzweigten Tunnel- und Hohlraumsystem des antiken Neapels. Unzählige Einstiege in die andere Welt der Stadt führen in das weit verzweigte Netz des Untergrunds. Etwa zwei Drittel der Altstadt sind unterhöhlt. Die Reise führt durch Tunneladern und ausgetrockneten Kanälen, vorbei an Brunnenschächten und Zisternen. Unter der Kirche San Lorenzo Maggiore ist ein Einstieg. Als Platzängstler wähle ich dieses Tunnelsystem, es ist komfortabel, einigermaßen geräumig, dennoch eindrucksvoll genug. Die Unterwelt führt in die verschiedensten sozialen Bereiche der Stadtgeschichte: Straßen, Häuser, Wohnungen, Kreuzgänge und Marktplätze. Man wandelt auf Jahrtausende alten Pfaden kreuz und quer durch die Antike.

Mercedes gave Hamilton short F1 contract to keep Antonelli option open

Toto Wolff has admitted that the Mercedes Formula 1 team didn’t commit to a longer-term contract with Lewis Hamilton because it didn’t want to risk losing protégé Andrea Kimi Antonelli.

Last August, Hamilton signed a two-year contract with the team, which was widely assumed to be fixed for the full term and left open the possibility for Mercedes to take Antonelli in 2026; however, Hamilton was able to use escape clauses to miss the second year and take up an offer from Ferrari, leaving his seat free for 2025 and giving Mercedes the chance to take Antonelli as early as next year. Antonelli, who is just 17 years old, is moving up to Formula 2 with Prema this season, having won Italian F4 in 2022 and the Formula Regional European Championship with the team last year. Wolff has compared the situation with 2014, when the team was keen to sign Max Verstappen but had nowhere to put him, while Red Bull was able to offer him a Toro Rosso seat for the following year. "There was a situation many years ago where we had the opportunity to let Max drive," Wolff told Austrian broadcaster ORF, "and that wasn't possible back then because we simply didn't have a cockpit. Rosberg and Hamilton were tied to us long-term, and Red Bull naturally seized the opportunity. They gave him a contract with Toro Rosso, with the possibility of driving for Red Bull the following year. We then lost the young driver, and you can see how successful he has become, and precisely because we have a junior on the horizon who is really driving at a very high level, I simply wanted to keep this option open. Wolff reiterated what he said in a response to Motorsport.com in Bahrain last week by stating that the newly-vacant 2025 seat is not necessarily being saved for Antonelli, who has yet to start his first F2 race. "That does not mean that we will actually put Antonelli in the car next year," he said. "He is 17 years old, and that might be a bit early. But with a view to the next five or ten years, I just wanted to have this option." Regarding the Italian’s potential, he said: "In a way, he's a wonderkid. He won everything there was to win in karting and then moved into F4. He won all the championships in his rookie year, then moved up a level and won everything there too. Now we've decided to skip F3, partly because there's not much time to test there. Instead, he'll go straight into F2, which is a huge leap for him. These are really big cars with power. Most of the races are part of the F1-supporting programme, so we'll have a good overview there too." Wolff has confirmed that Antonelli will do some private running in a 2022 car, noting that Mercedes will "run a big test programme with him in 2024 and then we'll see, is he ready for 2025? Or for 2026, will there be a different situation?" The conundrum over opting to hold him back until 2026 is that it would require another driver stepping in for 2025 only, assuming that George Russell remains in the other seat and his contract is extended beyond 2025. Wolff said that the driver market will be "incredibly interesting, because really strong people will be available for 2025," and that Mercedes will review the situation "over the next two or three races." He added: "Do we want to rely on experience and perhaps try something new? Or do we want to focus on youth and take the risk that we have a rookie and then have to look at this from a medium- to long-term performance perspective?"

Neapel – Das pure Leben

Anlässlich des 100. Geburtstages des US-Schauspielers Marlon Brando am 3. April 2024, der als „Don Vito Corleone“ in Francis Ford Coppolas, dreifach mit dem Oscar ausgezeichneten Meisterwerk „The Godfather“ (Der Pate) eine seiner Lebensrollen verkörperte, möchte ich von einer lebendigsten Hauptstädte Europas berichten, die alles andere, nur keine Hauptstadt ist – obwohl, so sicher bin ich mir da gar nicht. Denn in Sachen Lebensfreude, Herzlichkeit und Genuss läuft sie der etwas mehr als zweihundert Kilometer entfernt gelegenen ewigen Stadt Rom zweifellos den Rang ab. Neapel ist Italien, und Italien ist Neapel.

Ohne Chaos, kein Leben. Seit Jahrhunderten bringen Philosophen die beiden Begriffe in Kongruenz, vielleicht auch nur, um die Unzulänglichkeit menschlichen Strebens in ein beschönigendes Licht zu setzen. Die Begriffsverwandtschaft freilich ist in dieser Stadt mehr als offensichtlich, und kaum dass der Reisende seine ersten, zaghaften Schritte in jene vor Lust und Leidenschaft überbordende Stadt setzt, die seit je her als Synonym südländischer Lebensfreude gilt, ist und bleibt man von ihr gefangen. Und wenn erst die abendlich-goldenen Sonnenstrahlen den Lungomare vor dem Castell Uovo in ein brodelndes, vibrierendes Ganzes verwandeln - längstens dann gleicht er einem, über die schroffen Abhänge des nahegelegenen Vesuvs sich ergießenden Magmastrom. Dann kocht das Temperament des Neapolitaners hoch und eine Urgewalt an Sinnlichkeit erfasst die Stadt zwischen Via Toledo, Via Chiaia und der Spaccanapoli, die wie pulsierende Lebenslinien die Straßen der Innenstadt durchschneiden.

In den Gassen

Dazwischen jede Menge Gassen und Gässchen, Piazzas und Piazettas, auf denen Kinder spielen, Großmütter vor den Häusern hocken, Vespa-Fahrer hupen, Fußballfans Schlachtengesänge grölen, und Verkehrspolizisten mit ihren Trillerpfeifen den Verkehr zu regeln versuchen. Dann verwandeln sich Gehsteige in Schanigärten, die Kellner hasten pizzabeladen von drinnen nach draußen, von Tisch zu Tisch, Millionen von Jugendlichen nagen einander auf Parkbänken und in Hauseingängen ihre pubertären Gesichter ab, während die Touristen endlose Schlangen vor den Eisdielen bilden, alte Männer säckeweise Muscheln, Gamberetti und anderes Meeresgetier von den Fisch-Ständen nach Hause schleppen, indes die Mamas Wäscheleinen quer über die Gassen ziehen und die Väter die Losstände plündern, um sich ihren Wettverlust gleich darauf in der nächsten Bar schön zu saufen.

Napoli for ever! Wer das Leben trinken, dem Tod ein Schnippchen und das Glück lauthals begrüßen will, muss in genau diese Stadt reisen. Und wenn auch nur für ein paar Tage. Die aber, versprochen, haben es in sich! 

Castel Sant‘ Elmo - Von hier aus hat man den besten Überblick über Meer, Vesuv und die unendliche Stadt. Wer’s bequem machen will, der fährt mit der „Funiculare“, der Zahnradbahn, bergaufwärts, hinunter geht es dann über gefühlt tausende Stufen zurück ins Getümmel des Häusermeeres.

Über die Via Toledo zum Piazza Dante und zur Piazza Pignasecca – Die überfüllte quirlige Straße führt zu zwei der hübschesten Hotspots urbanen Lebens: Lokale, Shops und jede Menge Märkte.

Capella San Severo - Wer ein einzigartiges Kunstwerk innerhalb einer betörend schönen Museums-Kapelle erleben will, der muss hier hin: In der Mitte des Raumes ist das Kunstwerk Giuseppe Sanmartinos „Der verhüllte Jesus“ aufgebaut. Staunen und Wundern!

Via San Gregorio Armeno - Wer Wahnsinn pur erleben will, dem sei das schmale Gässchen anempfohlen: Hier findet man den personifizierten Weihnachtsrausch: Figuren, Puppen, Krippen - chinesisches Fließband und neapolitanisch Handgemachtes. Die satirischen Krippenfiguren huldigen Politikern, Promis, Päpsten und Fußballstars aus aller Welt.

Monastero di Santa Chiara - Eine Insel der Ruhe ist der zauberhafte Kreuzgang des Klosters Santa Chiara. Ein Farbenmeer strahlender Majolika-Kunst, ein gepflegter, südländischer Garten, und zwischendurch huschen Mönche über die Wege: Neapel bietet auch Muße und Ruhe.

Galleria Umberto I - Gleich gegenüber dem ältesten und glänzendsten Theater Italiens, dem „Teatro San Carlo“, befindet sich die mondäne und wohl spektakulärste Shopping-Mall Neapels, die „Galleria Umberto I“.

Castell dell‘ Ovo - Vor dem Lungomare, der prächtigen Flaniermeile Neapels, erhebt sich eine sagenumwobene Tuffstein-Burg, ein wahrer Eye-Catcher, besonders in der blauen Stunde der orangeroten Abendsonnenstrahlen. Das Gebäude sieht aus wie ein Film-Set: Unwirklich, monströs, absichtsvoll. Das Kastell wurde ursprünglich als Überbau einer Kirche errichtet, die auf den Überresten einer Villa des Lukull thronte. Am Verrücktesten aber ist, was sich tief unterhalb befand: Das Ei des Vergil! Es lag in einer Karaffe, die tief im Verlies der Burg in einem kleinen Käfig von der Decke baumelte. Solange das Ei ganz blieb, so die Legende, blieb auch die Stadt unversehrt. Die Neapolitaner glaubten daran, bis heute -  warum auch nicht wir, die hunderttausend Touristen, die abends über den Ufer-Highway spazieren und ihr ‚unversehrtes‘ Leben genießen.

Il Duomo - Auch im prächtigen Dom zu Neapel tut sich Wunderbares: Dreimal pro Jahr wird das Blut des verehrungswürdigen Märtyrers und Stadtheiligen, das in einer silbernen Ampulle im Safe der Kirche lagert, hervorgeholt und zum Hochaltar von „San Gennaro“ getragen. Der Kardinal hält jenes wundertätige Behältnis hoch und vor den staunenden Augen der Gläubigen verflüssigt sich das gestockte Blut des Heiligen. Wenn das geschieht, hat die Stadt nichts zu befürchten. Das Gegenteil könnte verheerend sein: Ein Ausbruch des Vesuvs, ein Krieg, ein Erdbeben. Also geht ein befreiendes Raunen durch die Stadt und die Neapolitaner sind beruhigt - bis zum nächsten Stichtag.

Dass das „Blutwunder von St. Gennaro“ längst wissenschaftlich er- und geklärt ist, tut der Gutgläubigkeit des Volkes keinen Abbruch. Hier will man an Wunder erfüllt sehen, ob Eier, Blut oder die kleine, geschwungene Paprikaschote „Cornicello“, die gegen den „bösen Blick“ schützt – im Angesicht des Vesuvs, des ewig drohenden Symbols von Verderben und Untergangs, braucht man Übernatürliches. Und wenn es nichts nützt, schaden tut es gewiss nicht…

Hello Anon! Depending on your region there are a few ways to watch WEC for free. WEC has not released their official broadcast distribution, so I cannot include everything just yet. I really hope they're posting it soon. However,

In Europe and most of Asia Eurosport will broadcast a big part of the WEC season and usually this is free to air TV. Though interrupted by ad breaks and sometimes only parts of the race will be shown. It also depends slightly which Eurosport channels you receive. Sometimes it's on 1 but mostly on 2 which I've found out is not free for everyone.

Alternatively if you happen to have Discovery+ or Eurosport Player it's on there. Obviously not free, but some people have those already or receive those for free through their provider.

In Brazil it should be free on the Esporte na Band YouTube channel.

In Austria ORF Sport+ has WEC rights but it clashes with F1 and supports this weekend so they broadcast like an hour total of the race. Maybe it will be on ORFTHEK? It was on that last year.

Kuyentertainment should be broadcasting on YouTube again too, in Indonesia

Aside from that, there used to be some more free online broadcaster you could access with VPN etc but I am not a 100% sure at the moment cuz of the broadcast info not being released yet.

if first year asta looks considerably more skrinkly thats because he is!! the essence is she wants to be an idol soo bad but bc reimei’s student population is literally All Guys and its a bad idea to have a fem-presenting idol intermingled in there, it goes undercover in guy uni 👍 which theyr totally cool with whatever gets them to idoldom fastest. hence the girlier vibe and the messy short haircut

they actually have to retake 1st year due to personal circumstances (get Child of Divorce’d). only reason theyre allowed to come back is bc they kinda Are pretty girlslay when it comes to idolisms + since they were first allowed into reimei on a scholarship, theyr allowed to return but only if they shill a hefty tuition (father’s child support payments all go to tuition <3) + another condition wherein theyll deliberate with reimei’s school board directly with the express intent of suppressing nonspecial student rebellion but we’ll talk abt this later

NP plays a central role in viral replication [18]. As a structural protein with no intrinsic enzymatic activity [19], it is the most abundant viral protein in infected cells.

The E6, E7 and E5 proteins are able to interact with many cell targets, promoting cellular transformation7,8. The E1 protein is encoded within the early expressed region and it is localized in nuclear and cytoplasmic fractions. This protein is highly conserved among different HPV types and is the unique HPV protein with enzymatic activity.

The initiation of the HPV infection is from the basal layer of the squamous epithelium. The viral replication process and transcription of other E proteins are regulated by E1 and E2 proteins...

E1 protein has been reported highly conserved among the types of HPV and commonly decoded during the early expression of HPV infection...

E1 and E2 proteins play crucial role in the initiation and regulation of HPV replication as illustrated in Fig. 1. Initially, E2 proteins bind to their binding sites (E2BS11 and E2BS12) at the origin of replication, which recruits a pair of E1 proteins to form a complex.
