barty's inscrutability is so funny just because its like. he's winning the repression olympics without even realizing by wrapping his true self away in endless untraversable turns like a conch shell. having a situationship with him is like volunteering to lock yourself in the torture labyrinth bro you are never making it out of there!! you will spend years trying to unravel his feelings and get absolutely nowhere but still constantly feel like you’re on the verge of getting there!!! If you both go to Stanford together, he knows your schedule. He has it memorized to be honest (just something he'd want to know), but he also uses that information to help you shop. It's all really niche things too. The best sketch pencils for that Still Life Art class you signed up for. That Russian literature class you signed up for? He somehow knows a bookstore for you to get secondhand but good quality Tolstoy and Dostoevsky books. Even found the best graphing calculator for your calculus class. You could be taking organic chemistry and he would knows what's the best chemistry model to buy.

Not to mention, he makes sure you get the general things as well. The best pens to take notes with. The sturdiest folders. Even a planner to help you stay organized. He'll also come with you for any random shopping you want to do, that you justify as back to school shopping. Is buying a bunch of new shirts really necessary for the new school year? Debatable, but he isn't going to say anything about it anyway.

This reminds me of a post from a few months back about the fashion show the girls put on for Steve when they get back from the shopping trips he doesn't go on (because of his "migraines" - i.e. a trip to the mall triggered a migraine *once* and he used it as an excuse to get out of them for the rest of time).

When the girls are old enough to go shopping alone they definitely still make their dads sit through a whole show-and-tell of what they bought (and in well-trained girl-dad fashion, Steve and Eddie mostly enjoy themselves).

I texted him from the shower to ask if i had clean underwear and he said "yes daddy" and set them out for me. I got hard :/

While being on hiatus I realized I can upload my pride and joy : The working desk I worked so hard to collect and build organizers for! With a vast collection of alcohol markers (but regular markers too), Acrylic markers, pencils and pens and SO MANY KAPPA ORGANIZERS I've built. I've always enjoyed art stores and how colorful they are!, so I decided to build one in my room. it took about 15+ years to collect all of this! and ofc there is yugioh all around! Many more art materials in the dozens of drawers I have around the room.. hard to take a photo..
