Callen:  Stunned that Joelle lost her leg. Sam:  Broke Joelle’s arm to save her life. Kensi:  Understands Anna’s desire to protect her loved ones from a sociopath. Deeks: Knows Kensi is in a fight-or-flight existence.   Eric:  Not today. Nell:  Stuck with a job she never wanted. Fatima:  Arranging a safe house for Arkady. Roundtree:  Running through the park to save the day. Hetty:  “Freaking” master of manipulating Nell.

What not so important things did we learn about:

Callen:  Wiling to trade himself for Joelle. Sam:   Can’t believe Joelle taught Kam. Kensi:  Finally gets to work Arkady’s security system. Deeks: Taught his mother Zoom and Arkady is grateful for that. Eric:  Not today. Nell:  Loves Kensi but isn’t up for a pep-talk. Fatima:  Can’t get the new Kaleidoscope to work to find Katya because Katya doesn’t compute. Roundtree:   Never been to Hawaii. Hetty:   On Nell’s stink list.

Who's down with OTP:   Deeks is willing to drop everything to find Kessler and get him out of Kensi’s head.

Any notable cut scene:  No.

Quote:  Nell:  “We have no idea what to look for. I can't believe I let this happen. Hetty should have never put me in charge.” Kensi:  “Hold on a second, that's not fair. Nell, that is not fair. Just because you're in charge doesn't mean that you can control absolutely everything. No one can. Neither could Hetty. I mean, look at all the crap that happened under her watch.” Nell:  “Yeah, well, at least she wanted this job. I mean, I never asked for this. In fact, I told her that I didn't want the job. What did she do? She didn't care. She just manipulated me into taking it anyway, because that's what she always does. That's who she is. She's a freaking master at it. And now here I am, sitting in her chair, and I'm going to get Anna killed. And I don't know what to do.” Kensi:  “You don't have to know what to do. That is why you have a team. You have me, you have Deeks, you have Sam, you have Callen. - All of us will help..” Nell:  “Kens, I love you, but I cannot do the pep talk right now, okay? I have to get in contact with SECNAV, I need to have a phone call with Agent Carlson, and you... you need to go home, and you need to go to sleep. Thank you.” Kensi:  “Yes, ma'am.” Nell:  “No ma'am. Never ma'am.”

Anything else:  The previouslys are all from the two prior episodes including the finger.  In the boat shed, Nell gets the happy job of “fingerprinting” the finger.  Carlson is questioning Anna.  When Callen can’t get Arkady on the phone, Nell suggests having a returning Kensi and Deeks check out Arkady’s.  With Arkady likely needing extra convincing, Callen wants Fatima and Roundtree to go too.

Carlson doesn’t trust Anna since she was working as an agent for a foreign government. - Anna needs to tell Carlson what she promised Myskin in exchange for the FSB to help her.

The finger doesn’t match Joelle’s because the CIA is ordering NCIS to call of their identification efforts.  Callen knows that is a confirmation.  Nell is sorry for Callen.

Locked in a shipping container, Joelle vomits after looking at her badly disfigured hand.  A woman walks in with a mask over her face.  Joelle says sending the finger was a cliché.  To get someone’s attention send an eye, an ear or a tongue.  The masked woman leaves Joelle some aspirin, liquor and a sandwich.  Joelle kicks the sandwich away, noting that aspirin and liquor are blood thinners.  

Unwrapping the bloody bandage around her hand, Joelle takes a swig of the alcohol before pouring it on her hand.  She screams in pain.

In interrogation, Carlson wants to know about Katya’s threats.  Anna explains that Katya said she could get to Arkady and she knew about Callen.  Katya never threatened her personally, just the people around her.  That’s why there was the fake defection – to get to Joelle.  When Joelle wanted Anna to help with Katya’s defection, that’s when she teamed up with Russia to send Katya back.  “You cannot control her.  You cannot trust her.”

Callen breaks in – Arkady won’t answer his phone.  Anna says Arkady won’t answer the phone when he’s entertaining a lady or two.  Callen thinks things are going to be awkward when the team arrives.  Anna suggests therapy.

The team hops Arkady’s fence.  The emergency lights are on so the power has been cut.  Nell is watching as Kensi, Deeks, Fatima and Roundtree breach the house.  There is loud music playing while Kensi picks the front door lock.  Deeks is worried about Arkady showing up in full bondage gear “because there are some things that can’t be unseen.”

As Deeks is finishing his “unseen” line, Carlson is looking at Joelle’s finger in an evidence bag.  She watches the team breach the Arkady’s from the main room of the boat shed.

Kensi is in as are Fatima and Roundtree – Arkady’s back door was opened.  Kensi and Deeks are going upstairs, Fatima and Roundtree are searching the first floor.

In the kitchen, Roundtree finds one of Arkady’s guards dead with his throat cut.  Carlson is shocked.  Fatima finds a second dead guard – he was stabbed multiple times.  She also finds the source of the music and turns it off.  

Kensi and Deeks find two dead guards outside of Arkady’s bedroom.  Both were shot.  Since there was no neighborhood call for gunshots, Katya must be using a silencer.  Kensi sees a panic room. There is no keypad.  Kensi notices a drill and warm drill holes on the door.  On comms, Deeks warns Fatima and Roundtree that Katya could still be in the building but there is no reply.

Racing downstairs, Fatima and Roundtree are fine, they couldn’t contact Kensi and Deeks.  Neither could Nell.  Callen realizes Katya set up a signal jammer – it was why he couldn’t call Arkady and why Arkady didn’t call the police.  Kensi finds the signal jammer.  With the help of Anna, Callen is able to get Arkady to open the door.  Arkady didn’t have a satellite phone in the panic room but Deeks notes the 12 cases of vodka to prove Arkady’s priorities are straight.  

Anna thinks the Russians tipped off Katya that NCIS was going to see Arkady.  They could get her in a specific area and kill her themselves.  If the Russians do kill Katya, they will never find Joelle.

Sam is angry that Callen didn’t call.  Since the team hasn’t heard from Katya, Callen is worried that Joelle is already dead.  Amputated finger, gunshot wound, Joelle is in rough shape.  Sam doesn’t understand Joelle as the target.  Arkady is an easier one with better leverage to use to get Anna.  If Callen was easier to find, he’d be a better target too.

Things suddenly make sense to Callen.  If Katya’s defection was a set-up, she had to make it seem legit.  By feeding the CIA info, Katya could prove her worth.  Her last piece of info was Callen being a Russian spy.  Katya tried to sideline Callen with Carlson.  And Carlson knows it.  Carlson returns to the main room of the boat shed.

At Arkady’s, power and phones have been restored.  He is sitting in his living room with his security system on the big screen TV.  He’s not having an easy time using the keyboard, frustrating Kensi no end.  Deeks is having flashbacks to teaching Bertie Zoom.  Arkady notes that Deeks taught her well – “she’s very good at it.  Never forgets to unmute.”  Deeks is stunned as is Kensi.  Arkady missing the bar, the human interaction, Bertie’s heavy pours and sharp tongue.  Bertie was expected over that night but had to cancel, though the panic room was made for two.  Deeks is going to shoot Arkady.

Kensi grabs the keyboard from Arkady and orders both Deeks and Arkady to focus.  Kensi sees someone moving to the door but lasers take out the security cameras.  There are no security cameras in the house – Arkady laughs at that idea.  Kensi and Deeks think there was too much carnage for Katya to be working alone.  Arkady only saw one person in the house and she was wearing a mask like a wolf or a dog.

When Fatima arrives, it is time for Arkady to go to the safe house.  He isn’t going.  He demands to speak to Anna.  Deeks tells Arkady he can’t, he has to go.  Arkady takes the blame for whatever Anna did.  He wants to protect her.  Kensi and Deeks promise Callen will keep Anna safe, they all are going to keep her safe.  

Sitting at the table in the boat shed’s main room, Carlson confirms that everything Katya gave the DOJ checked out.  She was the “golden goose of intel.���  When she gave up Callen, Carlson had to act.  Sam asks if Joelle agreed with Katya’s intel.  Carlson says no, she fought the accusation but was overruled.  Joelle was given the opportunity to walk away but she didn’t trust anyone else with Katya.  The ODNI/DOJ should have listened to Joelle, Carlson tells Callen and Sam, and she should have listened too.

Nell pops up on the screen.  The SecNav spoke to the Secretary of State who is talking to the Russian Ambassador to try to get some help calling off the hit on Katya.  Sam thinks Carlson’s taskforce can get the CIA to pass on the word that the Russians shouldn’t kill Katya.  Carlson isn’t sure – the Russians really don’t care if Joelle dies.  Carlson can’t – she thinks someone inside the ODNI or DOJ is helping Katya.  Anna is right.

More news from Nell – Gonchgarov is out of his coma.  Carlson is going to question him.  

At the office, Deeks asks Kensi is OK, if the reaction to the injections is over.  Instead, she doesn’t really blame Anna for what she did.  Deeks doesn’t see the upside to teaming with Russian spies but Kensi sees it as looking over her shoulder to see if someone is there to kill her.  Kensi hates to admit it but Kessler is right – he’s in her head.  She wonders if she should drop everything and kill him.  Deeks is all in.  Kensi says she was only half kidding.  Deeks isn’t kidding at all.  Kessler has been hanging over their lives for months.  Kessler wants to find Kensi to torture her but Deeks thinks he doesn’t have to find her – Kessler is torturing Kensi right now.  Deeks loves Kensi and they’re starting a family but it is hard with her body being in fight-or-flight all the time.  “Screw that and screw him.”  Deeks wants to hunt Kessler down and bring him to prison.  They share I love yous and Deeks is ready to go now.  But with Kessler having a pardon, he’s not going to prison.  Deeks has friends in North Korea.  They have prisons.  So does Azkaban.  

Nell gets a call from Katya to trace.  Callen answers the phone and wants to hear Katya’s real voice, not the electronic one.  Katya says she has no voice since her country took it from her.  She wants to speak to Anna.  Nell is having troubles tracing the call.  

For an exchange for Joelle, Anna has to be in Pavilion Park in one hour.  If there is a helicopter in the vicinity, Joelle will be executed.  Kensi looks at the park and sees all sorts of places Katya could have a sniper waiting for Anna.  Callen makes a counteroffer – he’ll go instead of Anna.  Katya could trade him to the Russians to cancel the hit on her.  Katya wants Anna and only Anna.

Jumping on the call, Sam demands proof of life.  Joelle gets on the phone, not knowing who is on the other end, and warns them not to trust Katya.  She gets beaten for her comments.  The call is disconnected.  Sam wants Kensi and Deeks to grab their gear and join him, Fatima and Roundtree in the park.

Callen goes to Anna, who is willing to do whatever is needed.

In Pavilion Park, Sam is on the south side of the park, Kensi and Deeks have the west while Fatima and Roundtree are in the food truck in the north.  It is 11:45 AM.  Katya is expecting them at 11:52 AM.  As Callen puts a small camera on Anna’s top, Anna tries to apologize.  There is so much Callen doesn’t know.  Callen isn’t in the mood for this talk.

Carlson has LAPD providing coverage all around the park.  There is a helicopter a few miles west that can be over the park on NCIS’s call.  Giving Anna Katya’s burner phone, Callen says its time.

Anna is walking into the park.  She’s waiting but nothing until the burner phone rings.  The team can only hear Anna’s end of the call.  Sam sees her walking to a grey sprinter van.  When the van opens, the team sees a defiant Joelle wearing a bomb vest.  After her captor orders her out of the van, Joelle says no.  That gets her shot in the leg.  Sam orders everyone to hold their positions.  The van could drive away and detonate the vest – killing Joelle and Anna.

When Roundtree wonders if the vest is real, Callen thinks they have to assume it is.  Katya likes to kill people.  Joelle is shoved to the sidewalk.  Anna is told to get into the van or the next shot is going into Joelle’s head.  Joelle tells Anna not to go into the van.  Anna goes into the van.  Once inside, the camera, her phone and the tracker are all offline.  

While Kensi and Deeks chase the van, Sam goes after Joelle, who is limping to the empty center of the park.  She doesn’t want to kill anyone.   The food truck and Callen join the chase.  Kensi and Deeks lose the van, LAPD ‘s helicopter is on the way.  

Sam starts tending to Joelle’s wounds.

LAPD spotted the van turning into a nearby mall.  Callen cuts it off, ordering everyone out of the van.  A shaken driver exits just before the van explodes.  Callen talks to the driver – he’s a delivery man.  The woman in the mask hijacked the van.  He let them out near a movie theater.  Callen is on his way to theater.  Kensi and Deeks arrive at what’s left of the van.  Deeks stays with the driver while Kensi joins Callen in the chase.

Sam needs a cell jammer and an EOD kit.  Getting the food truck to Sam will take too long – Roundtree runs through the park instead.  Joelle won’t sit still – Sam very much wants her to do just that.  They talk about Kam, the only one the brats at the school Joelle could tolerate.  They talk about Annapolis and Kam’s other path in life.  The countdown clock starts on the detonator.  Sam has three minutes.  The phone was programed to blow up at noon.  Joelle orders Sam to leave – he has two kids that really need him.  She doesn’t need Sam being a hero.

Roundtree is racing to Sam and Joelle.

With the mall security cameras being closed-circuit, Kensi goes to watch them at the security office.  The driver knows nothing.  

Roundtree arrives with two minutes left.  Nothing is working.  Joelle sees Sam’s knife and tries to stab him to get him away.  Promising he’ll break her arm if she doesn’t drop the knife, Sam has an idea – he dislocates Joelle’s arm and gets her out of the vest.  After Roundtree tucks the vest under a picnic bench, the three move away from the bomb with Sam carrying Joelle over his shoulder and Roundtree pulling up the rear.  The bomb explodes.  An ambulance with Joelle’s blood type onboard is on its way.

The security cameras at the mall were knocked out 30-minutes before Anna was taken.  Anna and Katya are in the wind.

Roundtree joins Fatima in Ops.  The new Kaleidoscope isn’t working because Katya is not predictable.  “Katya does not compute.”  Roundtree asks if Fatima needs anything- coffee, doughnut, Hawaiian vacation.  He’s never been – worried about the active volcanos.  He wants to go to the beach and forget that people like Katya exist in the world.

Kensi joins Nell in her/Hetty’s office.  Joelle is still in surgery.  There are a number of possible infections and she’s lost a lot of blood.  Callen is at the hospital to question Joelle once she’s out of surgery.  Nell’s only good news is that nobody was in the van when it blew.  Every agency is looking for Anna and Katya like they were a few years ago.

Blaming herself the for day’s failures, Nell sits at her desk.  Hetty never should have put her in charge.  Kensi disagrees – Nell can’t control everyone and everything.   When Kensi reminds Nell about all the “crap” that happened when Hetty was running things, Nell points out that Hetty wanted the job.  Nell never asked for this – in fact she said she didn’t want the job.  Nell is getting louder and more upset.  Now yelling, Nell tells Kensi that Hetty didn’t care what Nell wanted, she just manipulated Nell into the job.  “She’s the freaking master of it.”  Sitting in Hetty’s chair, a now crying Nell thinks she’s gotten Anna killed.

Kensi tries a pep talk – that Nell has a team around her – but Nell is not in the mood.  Telling Kensi she loves her, Nell’s just not in the mood.   Nell needs to talk to the SecNav, Carlson and Kensi needs to go home and go to sleep.  Kensi says “yes ma’am” which earns another “no ma’am, never ma’am” from Nell.  Nell calls the SecNav.

Kensi finds Deeks walking into the office.  With no leads, Kensi wants to follow Nell’s orders.  Deeks doesn’t think that’s good enough.  Anna going missing should not have happened.  Deeks promised Arkady that they would take care of Anna.  Kensi says they all promised Arkady.  Deeks thinks they are better than this.

According to Carlson, the driver was “a dupe like the rest of us.”  Carlson never got to Gonchgarov – Katya’s call came in just as she was leaving.  She’s going now and Sam is joining her after he calls Callen.

Callen is still at the hospital, Joelle is still under the knife.  Nobody’s told Arkady Anna is missing.  Callen is going to give him a call.  A doctor finds Callen.  The first gunshot wound went untreated for so long that the leg could not be salvaged under the knee.  Callen is stunned.  

A drugged Anna replaces Joelle in the shipping container.  Two women, sans masks, walk in.  Katya isn’t there but two women claim to know Anna from the academy.  Anna only wants to speak to Katya.  Katya is getting an “insurance policy” so Anna doesn’t do anything stupid.  They leave some bottled water and a sandwich before locking her back into the container.

What head canon can be formed from here:  This was a tough rewatch.  When this shows up on ION or USA or Oxygen episode marathons, this will be a great chance to switch to the news or something.  

The Kensi-Deeks talk about Kessler keeps Kessler in the background as an upcoming big bad.  

Nell’s reaction to Anna’s abduction is another reminder that she doesn’t want Hetty’s job – foreshadowing the end of the season.

Episode number:  This is unlucky number 13 – especially for Joelle – in season 12.  Episode 275.

Sarahi as well is just the absolute cinnamon roll...a cinnamon roll that can kick serious ass!!

@samshogwarts -- Samantha O’Connell. Just...she’s so friggin’ adorable and I just...I just love her?? So much?? I honestly cannot wait to see more of the first year comic you’ve been working on for her. It was so much fun to try to write for Samantha in the POTC AU, especially to put her in the same space as Charlie. Without fail, whenever we get to interact, it always brightens my day too...you were one of the first friends I made in this fandom, and I’m so, so glad you were there at the start of my journey! <3

Not to mention your awesome art that shows all of that off so wonderfully!

@angellazull -- Angelo Lancaster. Angel is the purest thing and I absolutely love all of his relationships, from his romance with Penny to his friendships with other MC’s like Kyril, Elaiza, and Roger. Your art is also really, really gorgeous too! Your use of color is exquisite.

Do you think these two idiots, once they finally realize they're more than "just hands" will ever fucking shut up about being in love with each other?? I think they'll shy away from saying it in public for a little while - partially to keep up the act of the warring real estate development companies/magician thing, partially because they still have some internalize homophobia/biphobia to work through themselves and saying that in front of Gob's family in particular is weird. But they definitely say it whenever one of them has to go and before bed. Definitely a lot of quick kisses on the cheek. Mwah.

Do they keep track of each other during the day? Asking how is that important meeting going and texting "I <3 u"? Or they just text each other grocery list and talk when they are both home?

Gob has definitely tried to text that throughout the day but he won't admit to needing glasses or admit he cannot work technology (that fucking gmail thing......what a dumbass i hate him so fucking much), so it turns into a lot of weird autocorrects. More than once he opened up the emojis and couldn't figure out how to get out of them so he just sends a bunch of hearts and such to Tony. And once Maeby tells him what it means, definitely a bunch of eggplants and peaches.

Tony's a bit better with technology and texting (he has a ton of nieces and nephews who have taught his siblings AND parents, so it's necessary for him to be up to date), so he'll try to text Gob. And then realize Gob is stuck on the emoji keyboard again and just call him to see if he's trying to sext him and hit the wrong button or was he earnestly asking for him to get corn on the cob.

All of that to say lol that they attempt to keep tabs but probably mostly talk when they are home. And if they do talk, it's good old-fashioned phone calls.

How they show affection to the other one in everyday life? Do they cook dinner for each other? Or wash the dishes, even though it's not their turn, cause they know the other one hates it?

Tony regularly cooks for them - he grew up having to cook and bake all the time and while he's gotten open enough to tell Gob he loves him all the time, he likes showing it through little things like that. Well, he considers it little; Gob can't even make eggs without cooking shards of eggshells, so he considers it huge. Gob had very likely never properly washed a dish before but he gets very good at it whenever Tony cooks for them. And though Tony hates cuddling, he lets Gob nuzzle up against him whenever he wants to, which is constantly.

(Actually, he kinda loves Gob cuddling him, but he can't just admit that. That's even gayer than being The Gay Magician™.)

Gob really struggles at showing his love in little ways like that since. You know. His growth is stunted. Arrested development and all ([ron howard voice] hey, that's the name of the show!). He mainly shows it through the above dish washing thing and by genuinely trying to help around the house, something he never really did before. And by trying to just…be there. Like, actually coming home instead of staying out partying or getting in trouble. Listening to Tony rant about what his dumb sister Lizzie said (yes, I'm counting the siblings I wrote as canon, fuck anyone who says I can't) or tell his favorite stories about him and his sister Angie—Gob has actually learned the names of all his siblings and their spouses and the nieces and nephews, he's that engaged. And he also just does his best to open up to him (in multiple ways—eeeeeeyyyy!)

Which, yeah, leads to the main way Gob shows affection to Tony. He's very much a physical touch type when it comes to his love language. Hugs, cuddles, nuzzling up against him (that tickling beard), and, of course, sex. He was the first one to definitely move them past "just hands" by making it "just hands and mouth stuff".

Why I like them: izuki’s just overall so amazing! he inspires me to give my best in the stuff i do, and although it sounds a bit silly i try to be a person that he’d be proud of. his puns are hilarious and well-thought-out (as a person who loves words and word jokes, i’m naturally drawn to him lol). they’re also a way to take the heat off the team, he’s so hardworking and never views obstacles as obstacles, rather as hills he must climb to find newer skies. he’s also rather clever and employs his brains to great effect when his body fails him! izuki embodies the meaning of ‘eagle’ in the truest sense - waiting to strike when the time is right and not failing when it is.

Why I don’t: *sweats* can’t really think of a reason i don’t like izuki, at all??? i guess he can overwork himself a lot and tends to keep his true emotions hidden which could lead to misunderstandings between friends (although this is totally headcanon territory lol)... i also didn’t like the ableist comment he passed on hayama (“i’m just glad you weren’t smarter than me”). but i think he can (and will!) grow from that kind of stuff, he is that kind of person so yeah no particular reason for me to dislike him at all

Favorite episode (scene if movie): how dare you make me pick s3 e8 izuki vs kasamatsu, hands down. i know its like cliche or whatever but that moment just told me so much about izuki as a character? he’s willing to do what it takes to win, he’s adaptable and dependable and he doesn’t let shit get him down ever. it’s gorgeous

Favorite season/movie: s3, he got some fantastic moments in there!! although i will say i loved the spotlighting he got in s1 in the seihō match

Favorite line: “Fear isn't a bad thing. There are some things that can only be done by cowards.” this is first of all such a nice thing to say. ‘fear is not bad’ is just... so fucking wise? keep in mind that this boy is 17, i’ve met 30 year olds who are less mature. secondly it feels like izu’s speaking from experience?? like he has a lot to be scared of, i’m sure. particularly of falling behind and being a burden to his teammates. but it’s that ‘cowardice’ that drives him to practice so so hard. that visceral terror of weighing on seirin is what pushes izuki beyond his limits - which is why here he can empathise with furi’s fear, and knows how best to employ it.

Favorite outfit: look i hate last game w/ a passion but that lil tie/shirt/hoodie thing he had going? that was literally so cute. izuki in general has a p great fashion sense but his last game outfit takes the cake <3

Why I like them: lots of reasons! kiyoshi is an admirable person. he’s strong, yet friendly and gentle, and he loves his team above all else, which i just find beautiful. i find his manipulative side also pretty cool, bc it shows off how multifaceted he is.

Why I don’t: this is more of a fandom reason but i really dislike how kiyoshi is always said to have had the greatest impact in hyuuga’s story. he badgered and manipulated hyuuga, and while some may argue hyuuga needed that push, it only worked bc hyuuga had had time to think about shit. he’d also been given space by riko and izuki (two integral parts of his life whom the fandom looooves to sideline for uwu kiyo//hyuu). 

Favorite episode (scene if movie): yousen match (can’t pick the episodes)! i loved the backstory we got for kiyo vs mura and i loved how kiyoshi was willing to smile and play but also refused to lose. he truly stole the show despite kagami being the one to finally take down murasakibara, it was gorgeous <3

Favorite season/movie: s2 for sure. kiyoshi wasn’t allowed to shine much after yousen imo - all the focus was on hyuuga kagami and kuroko, and to a lesser extent izuki. not complaining, but yeah

Favorite line: “Let’s go have some fun.” i know it’s kinda cliche but i do love how kiyoshi’s always thinking about playing a good game and enjoying basketball. he wants to play because he loves it and as someone who loves a sport as much as kiyoshi loves b-ball, that love is so poignant and tender

Why I don’t: i dont like the constant slapstick of her beating up her boys. also, i dislike how the narrative forces her to act ‘feminine’ and then has the boys think of it as nothing. like first of all if someone like her offered me a kiss i would so take 100, and secondly... why is a girl’s worth so tied to her femininity? it’s awful

DISAGREEMENTS

Who is more likely to raise their voice?  Jacob. Now don’t get me wrong, he doesn’t loose his cool all that easy but Rheese can be a pain sometimes and he lacks the patience.

Who threatens to leave but never actually does?  Neither of them.

Who actually keeps their word and leaves?  This is actually what Rheese does when they break up about three months before the game. He finally is too deluded by Joseph’s demands of him that she cannot get through to him anymore and keep him from hurting people. They have a pretty bad fight about him torturing people that ends with him actually slapping her with the intention of making her shut up because she wouldn’t stop arguing against him. She gives him one moment to apologize for that, but he doesn’t so she leaves :’)

Who trashes the house?  They frequently throw things at each other.

Do either of them get physical?  Depends on when. Jacob pushes her around sometimes or touches her pretty roughly when he suffers from the effects of his PTSD. No domestic violence though. They also land real blows in training fights, same level bad on both sides really.

It’s worse during the arrest when they aren’t together anymore. Jacob was pretty devastated when he realized she actually left for good (he interpreted ‘i am leaving’ as her going home). It resulted in a lot of self blame (justified) which his family couldn’t really deal with. Joseph convinced him in the end that she was just another test he had to overcome in his life to find his correct path. So, he pretty much behaves just like he does in-game. She doesn’t get special treatment, she gets starved and thrown into murder trials like everyone else.

How often do they argue/disagree?  Pretty often. In the beginning it’s all they do, until they realize that having normal conversations every once in a while isn’t so bad actually.

Who has the strangest desires?  It’s nothing very strange tbh (at least not by my definition of strange... god i’ve seen ... things on deviantart. Definetly none of that!)

Any kinks?  Yeah, the perfect combo of wanting to feel powerless and wanting to feel in control. It complies with their character really. Rheese was forced to take care of herself ever since her teen years, which developed her into a pretty tough person. She likes the control she has over her life, and doesn’t let herself be pushed around by anyone. Feeling stripped of that control is however really exciting for her. Jacob’s kinda the other way around (imo anyway) in that he’s constantly following orders nevermind when or where, even within his own family (to not disappoint Joseph).

Also, people might believe she only became a Chosen trainer because she fucks the boss, which isn’t true because she got that position from someone other than Jake, based entirely on her performance.

How long can they cuddle until one becomes uncomfortable?  Until Rheese falls into deep sleep and starts spreading her limbs everywhere uncontrolably.

How often do they get time to themselves?  Usually evenings and nights. They would have more time together if Rheese didn’t value her alone time. Sometimes she prefers to spend her days off alone, going on a ride through the forests or just relaxing without anybody around. Who snores?  None of them

Are either of them insomniacs?  Jake has trouble sleeping and often wakes up. Her presence helps him but she’s not a magic sleeping pill so the issue never fully disappears.

Who wakes up with bed hair?  Both. Rheese loves his messy hair, especially after she bullied him enough into letting it grow a bit. He however calls her hay-head, because her hair gets all tangled up and poofy despite being tied into a braid.

Who is the busiest?  They both are pretty equally busy.

Are any of them unemployed?  They have their job in the cult. Rheese works as a deputy before and after her stay there. so no.

Who takes the most sick days?  Neither really take any unless they are really so sick they can’t move. It’s an unhealthy work ethic but they feel useless when just lying in bed all day.

Who sucks up to their boss?  Jacob in regards to Joseph, which Rheese thinks is very unhealthy. She doesn’t like how he lets himself be used so much and mostly blindly follows whatever his brother says. They have a lot of arguments about this and in the end it’s what ruins their relationship.

What are their jobs?  He’s head of security at Eden’s Gate. She’s a deputy, then pseudo joins the cult and works herself up to become a trainer of the Chosen, then she returns to her deputy position for the arrest.

Who stresses the most?  He does

Do they enjoy or despise their careers/occupations?  Police work wasn’t her passion. It was just a career she thought wouldn’t be boring. No noble motives and such. She only reprises her role as the deputy for the arrest because she falsely blames herself for everyone who’s been hurt by Jake’s hands after she left him. Her return is based on her trying to redeem herself. She had fun training Chosen, but she wouldn’t want to be part of any torture cult.

Jacob barely has any opinion on his work. He believes what he does is what needs to be done and he’s the best suited person for the job. You won’t find him complain, though he secretly just wants peace in his life. He hopes the cult’s actions will ultimately lead to that.

Are they financially stable?  They have enough.

HOME

Who does the washing?  Neither until one of them is fed up with the pile in the sink or the lack of clean plates in the shelf.

Who takes out the trash?  Usually Rheese is bothered by it first.

Who does the ironing?  They don’t

Who does the cooking?  She makes good pancakes. But other than that? Don’t allow her in the kitchen because she can’t cook for shit. He can cook a couple of things but is often simply too lazy to ‘play housewife’ so their dinners often consist of very simplistic things. Occasionally one of them will bring home takeout.

Is money a problem?  No, they don’t need much.

How many cars do they own?  Jake own an old truck and a motorcycle, Rheese used to have a car but sold it. She prefers riding on her horse Nugget anyway.

Do they own their home or do they rent?  She had an apartment in Missoula before ‘joining’. Then she lived at Stone Ridge for a while, then she moved in with him to his place. A tiny cabin far up a mountain at the far outside of the region.

What do they do when they’re away from each other?  Working, doing their own thing, living. He’s more possessive about her than she is about it. But they both function normally when not being together.

Where did they first meet?  Technically at the church during her very first sermon to ‘join’ the project. But they only interacted about a week later when he’s supposed to bring her to her initiation at John’s place. They immediately hate each other :’)

Who spends the most money when out shopping?  Whoever does the grocery shopping? They both aren’t big on other shopping trips.

Who’s more likely to flash their assets?  She’s not very show off-y. Jacob likes showing she ‘belongs to him’.

Any mental issues?  Rheese doesn’t really, she lost her parents and her family is extremely distant but it never gave her trauma.

Jacob still deals with the aftermath of war esp. His PTSD gets bad sometimes and he has sleeping issues.

Who’s terrified of bugs?  She is afraid of spiders, and would appreciate if he killed them when they are in the house. But usually he ends up throwing them at her and tells her it’s therapy to defeat her fears.

Who’s the tallest?  He’s 6'1, she is 5'2. He constantly calls her ‘Shorty’, not in any endearing cute nickname way, but purely to mock her height.

Who’s more likely to just randomly hop into the shower with the other?  Happens with both of them frequently. Tho Jacob is more prone to this because he showers less on his own. So when she’s in there he’s often like ‘might as well join’.

Who wanders around in their underwear?  Rheese starts this trend which he really doesn’t complain about. She also argues that it makes sense because then there will be less laundry to take care of. Can’t really argue with that really.

Who sings the loudest when singing along to the radio?  She does, very very badly cause she can’t sing.

What do they tease each other about?  Her short height and his age. Always.

Who is more likely to cringe at the other’s fashion sense at times?  Doesn’t really happen but he does judge her Power Rangers T-shirt she wears for sleeping.

Who crushed first?  They both kinda did. They blamed it on physical attraction at first, which made Rheese mad because he wasn’t her type. It takes them a couple of months to actually admit they might eventually possibly perhaps maybe have feelings for one another :)

Any alcohol or substance related problems?  Not really

Who is more likely to stumble home, drunk, at 3am?  Rheese does once, and another time they do it together.

Who swears the most?  Jacob, though she’s pretty good at it too.

Brax

How I feel about this character: I think his development is very cool. No seriously I love his characterization from dellah to collection. He had foreseen his arc since axis (hence the... fish incident) and everything he tried to do to avoid it had only led him to become what he feared the most, it appears to have started only after axis but it is foreshadowed(?) since gallifrey. On gallifrey he trained as a soldier under Danna and from from what he said about the minefield it’s pretty unforgiving. Her learnt that simply being a pawn for the greater powers cannot do anything to the outcome of a war, he was cannon fodder for the commanders no matter how good he might be at combat or strategy. And though Danna may had thought the minefield incident taught him to be cautious but brax learnt never to trust those in power again because they do not care about the sacrifices of their pawns. In his insecurity, brax sought to know more and control more and ultimately, become the person in power so he would not be manipulated and sacrificed again without knowing why. (hubris that under his control everything would be better/he would be a benevolent god and paranoia of what disasters could happen if he doesnt take control)

but how does he act in the collection where he controls all? He did exactly what his past superiors had done in wartimes, taking peoples lives and using them as pawns not out of selfishness, but under the genuine belief that it would be better for the greater good. Once in crisis his anxiety took control of him and while he is fully aware of that he is becoming (and they became monsters), he is also fully fixiated on the thought that this would be the only way to a good future. Brax is a very ironic and tragic character and everything about him (his presentation/demeanor/actions) are ultimately forged for security, he doesn’t believe in what he does but he does believe the results of doing those things would be one that he hoped for. His original personality is still there (like a piece of metal) but he fashions himself into a sword and fights for an ultimate bloodied peace. And that irony also makes him pretty comedic like he could be doing yoga and experimenting on babies in one audio story and see nothing conflicting lmao??? And turn into a rock??? Honestly he has the range!!

My non-romantic OTP for this character: bennybrax cleanses my soul like no other dynamics. They are so different yet in their core they are so similar on a deeper level, their interactions with each other are brilliant too they bounce off each other too well the fuck!!!!!! Also johnbrax is a big one Bc they have big exes energy and the simple reason of John being the only one to outplay brax in the mysteryman game is enough and I respect him too much for it (also... face touching.. tender time lord gay shit???? One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: a good character death which already happend thank you bf for my life qwq... tbh I love meaningful character deaths at the end of arcs it’s way better than dragging stuff on. I don’t want him to die in gallifrey though because all his doings in the collection are for a chance to save gallifrey, which he gave up for benny’s plan to restore the universe. I Would like to see him doing something about it now that he’s given a second chance by the watchmaker?!! Also I would like him to meet Benny one more goddamn time... perhaps a recall to theatre of war which should’ve happened but is not impossible Bc the axis destroying the good soldiers?

Please tell me about Obidala UwU

Ha ha ha, you asked for it.

Okay, for starters, I am bisexual and all my OTPs consist of (1) dude who has basically the same personality as me but I would like to bone and (1) lady who is the sort of person I wish I was, whom I would also like to bone. The dude in a Polynya OTP is generally a member of some sort of strict order (cop, Jedi, shinigami) that he is deeply devoted to. He is super good at his job and works his ass off, but he is always the loyal lieutenant, never the main character and accepts this as his lot in life. He is neurotic. He drinks a lot of coffee, or whatever the appropriate fantasy equivalent is. The lady Goes Hard. She is tough as balls. She usually has a lot of political power and is very smart and will cut a bitch. Her aesthetic is off the chain; enormous, bizarre dresses a plus. I think you can see where I am going with this. Also, Ewan MacGregor and Natalie Portman are two incredibly good-looking people and amazing actors and they absolutely carried the Phantom Menace, which I saw, like, eight times in theaters.

Here is what would have happened if someone had hired me to write Episodes 2 and 3, which no one did, for some reason. So first off, in Episode 1, Amidala is 14, I think, Anakin is 10, and Obi-Wan is.. Jeez, I dunno. 17 maybe? 30? Who knows? Anyway, watch that movie and try to tell me that there is ~ any chance ~ that Amidala would fall for Anakin, especially when there is this hot apprentice Jedi hanging around having this tragic shit go down, and being stoic and oh, no, I’m getting misty. None of this matters. Amidala is the queen, she has shit to do, no time for dumb boys. Anakin is obviously immediately smitten with her, why wouldn’t he be? Okay, now I need, like, an interim episode 1.5, where Obi-Wan is trying to train Anakin, but he’s bad at it because he’s barely graduated himself and he’s really broken up over Qui-Gon’s death and also he’s an order muppet and Anakin is a chaos muppet, but they manage to work shit out and bond and become Force Bros. In fact, they are much more like brothers than having a traditional Master - Padawan relationship, but they are also absolute monsters at fighting together and even though Obi-Wan is still a wet-sock-rules-follower, Anakin is still very “fuck the police”. Cue episode 2, where they meet up with Amidala again. She’s retired from Queening (the rulership system on Naboo is bananas, srsly wtf) and they all go on an adventure. She is beauty, she is grace, she stabs a dude right in the face. The three of them are an absolute wrecking crew. Anakin is smitten all over again, except that Amidala and Obi-Wan have… all this… chemistry. But Obi-Wan is a rules follower, he knows he’s not supposed to fall in love and also, she’s a Galactic Senator, she’s way above his pay grade, and also, his best friend is in love with her, Obi-Wan Would Never. Amidala would definitely like to hit that, but she respects Obi-Wan’s weird morals and also, she cares a lot about both boys and does not want to mess things up between them. Episode ends with my three kids as Nakama with A Lot of Sexual Tension Floating Around. 

Episode 3! Episode 3 is the absolute keystone of the Star Wars nonology (is that a word?) and it has to be stunning and the Episode 3 we got is a pile of cat vomit. Anakin needs to be a character that you love and care for and it absolutely breaks your heart when he goes to the dark side. And Palpatine would achieve this by tapping into Anakin’s tendency to hate the rules which is the one major philosophical difference he has with Obi-Wan, and also planting the seeds of the idea that Obi-Wan and Amidala are in love behind his back. Now, Obi-Wan is getting worried about Anakin, and he turns to Amidala, because he feels like she’s the only one who can get through to him. Sheev (Christ, I cannot get over that his name is Sheev) machinates things so that Anakin catches them “sneaking around behind his back” and the thing is, they haven’t been doing anything aside from trying to help him, except the fact is, they are actually in love and Anakin has basically already known this, and he has also always known that in some ways, he is the one who has stood in the way of his best friends being together and also he has a lot of Trauma and our boy loses his shit and takes a one-way trip to the Dark Side. I honestly never worked out what happened after that, but ngl, I feel like “hey, Luke, Vader wasn’t actually your dad after all” would have been a pretty amazing plot twist for Ep 5.

Is this the fanfiction I wrote? No. It is not. My sis and I had a series of stories where Anakin was having trouble fitting in at the Temple, and Obi-Wan gets special permission to take him off to some backwater planet to train him by themselves. It was basically a bunch of Obi-Wan is A Shitty Single Dad stories, featuring such gems as Anakin Joins a Boy Scout Troop and They Go Camping (Obi-Wan throws one of the other dads’ cell phones in a lake?) and Anakin Tries to Surreptitiously Pod-Race Without Obi-Wan Finding Out and oh God, there was one where they had to go back to the Temple for some sort of Padawan Talent Show featuring all of Obi-Wan’s friends who are now grown up and have their own apprentices? Eventually, we get to my masterpiece, where Amidala sends some letters to Obi-Wan and Anakin, and Anakin misinterprets something she says and thinks she’s gotten roped into an Arranged Marriage and feeling that Obi-Wan would not take this seriously enough, runs away to go save her. Obi-Wan, who is so, so tired, has to chase after him, and shortly after he gets to Naboo, Amidala actually does get roped into a political marriage with this absolute buffoon who was vaguely based on Kuno Tatewaki from Ranma ½. Hilarity, as one might expect, ensues. But, wait! There’s more! Close to the end of the story, Anakin has to run off and get the dude’s parents who have not at all approved this marriage and he tells Obi-Wan he has to stall the wedding. Obi-Wan blows this super hard by declaring, in a long, rambling fashion, that Amidala can’t marry this other guy, because he, Obi-Wan is in love with her. I then wrote a sequel, where this awful prince tries to get married to someone else. All these rich, royal people think that Amidala and Obi-Wan are together (and that they are super cute) so they decide they have to have a loud public break-up, except that someone straight-up gets murdered and then they have to solve the murder mystery and the whole time Anakin is wandering around going “can you guys please break up already?” Anyway, the bride turned out to be involved in the murder, so, once again, this bonehead prince has failed to get married, although somewhere along the line, he fell in love with one of Amidala’s handmaidens (I should note, the handmaidens in these stories are major characters and utter agents of chaos). Anyway, I got halfway through the third story in this series as well, where the prince and Amidala’s handmaiden get married, and Obi-Wan and Amidala try once again to break up and then are like “What if we… didn’t?” and I never finished it. I still have it around her somewhere. I am pretty sure all this nonsense is still floating around the internet… somewhere, but it was 19-friggin-99, so it’s got my real (maiden) name on it ::face palm:: so I’m not posting a link. The moral of this story is that I am still writing the same gonzo comedy-of-errors stories I wrote when I was eighteen, when I get around to re-writing WDKALY, you jerks are in for it.

Do Sim Evil Better.

I’d been knockin’ this idea around for a long time, and after collecting (or making, in the case of the CAS background) all the right cc, I decided to do something fun and unrelated to my stories and make the most handsome, most ingenious, and most evil man to ever exist in a narrative, Corin Deeth III (who actually named the Corin in my current storyline - Corin with two “r”. #bigFan).

Reader, you may or may not be familiar with the story of Kakos Industries and if you aren’t you truly are missing out. It is the best podcast I’ve listened to since The NoSleep Podcast, and to be honest...I think it actually one-ups my beloved NoSleep. It is a very fun and witty podcast with some great humor, greater hijinks, and can I just mention how alluring Corin’s voice is? Just sayin’. The storyline is awesome, too...so many great characters. I want to make Jr. and Malantha next~ I’ll leave some links at the bottom of the post for those who may be interested. Anyway, without further ado, let’s meet the man of the hour, shall we?

Well hello, Corin~.... Now, I may have missed the mark, but I always envisioned Corin having short, trendy hair that still embodied professionalism and and air of slight douchery. I have seen a lot of fanart where Corin has long hair and perhaps that is canonically true. If so, I apologize Corin, please do not send me a pair of exploding sneakers. I may have missed his eye color too, but I went with a very piercing blue-green because that’s just my personal taste and light eyes with dark hair is so badass.

Corin’s traits came pretty natural - evil, confident, and I picked hot-headed because it would best help his in-game aspiration (Criminal Mastermind) moreso than him being hot-headed in the canon. He is actually always as cool as a cucumber. I admire that.

And a little in-game blurb for him because why not? Am a ridiculously enamored fangirl? Maybe. (I spelled his name wrong up top, but I fixed it AFTER I took that and the next cap - whoops)

And just for fun, this personality notice about Corin popped up when I went in to do his photoshoot. I just love it and the look on Corin’s face at the time - Ah, the taste of accuracy.

Now, on to the main event. I’ve always wondered what Corin’s sense of fashion was like, and now having listened to 99% of the podcast (it was so fun to catch up, I’m pretty much stalling on finishing what’s out now because waiting for the next is gonna hurt so bad) I’ve gotten too curious and decided to raid his wardrobe. Everyday Wear

Oh of COURSE Corin looks dark and dapper in a suit for everyday. Look at that little splash of color! I bet you used the blood of insubordinate employees to make that tie custom, didn’t you? Magnificent. What else do you slip into on the daily? Maybe when you’re home relaxi-

Oh. Um. Well...You do wear a cowboy hat very well, Corin! I mean...they match the boots and everything! I...I’m sure there are a lot of experimental abominations to wrangle around the office so why not dress the part? Not gonna lie, that shirt looks breezy and comfortable as hell. Maybe take a trip to the mountains with King Leopold sometime? (I...I know what happened in the story, and I refuse to let it go. #OTP.)

Formal Wear

Ah. The natural snazz comes out around the time of the Shareholder’s Ball and the CEO Festival, doesn’t it? You didn’t strike me as the bowtie type of evil CEO but I’ll be damned if it doesn’t look amazing on you. I see you’ve forgone your gloves for formal wear. Hard to eat the deviled eggs and tiny cheeses in those, non?

...This must be the suit you wear to the CEO Festival. That’s really the only explanation as to why it always turns out to be...what it usually becomes. I am going to assume that this suit belonged to Mr. Corin Deeth I and you wear it in his honor. I sure he is looking down on you, pleased but also wondering why you haven’t indulged in what is (still) in the right-side inner pocket.

Athletic Wear

You cannot be a successful CEO of an evil megacorp if you let yourself go. Hence why you slip into nothing but basketball shorts for a long, strenuous...sweaty...satisfying...workout. Between culling unnecessary employees and flawlessly delivering the shareholder announcements, you’re deadlifting 400lbs and making 1st in marathons, aren’t you? Of course you are.

And then there’s jazzercise. Cardio IS important and I mean...just running can be a bit tedious, yeah? You’re so well-rounded, Corin, golly. Honestly, I’m not at all mad at your fashion choice for this one. You don’t have to hide it, we are all friends here. The 80′s were a great time and I am happy you’re keeping the impeccable athletics fashion alive.

Sleepwear

Even mega evil mega CEOs need rest from time to time and nothing beats resting out topless and in trackpants. I see you are wearing ADIDAS, the most evil of brands. Not much else I can say. I am too busy admiring what jazzercise has done for you.

Uh oh. It must be one of those days. Malantha has flustered you again, Dirk is texting for more life advice, and Jr. is sending way too many...um...”special photos” to prove his is thinking hard on how to best contribute to the company. Good thing Brosephus is totally awake at 2am and ready to video chat about all of this. It’s SOOOO LAAAAAAME, right?!

Party Wear

Rollin’ up to the New Year’s Festival feels good, especially when you look this mighty fine. Nothing like finally getting past Yule and Anti-Celebrating by finally cutting loose again and making those ultra evil resolutions. Again with the gloves, I see. Well, I guess better safe than sorry. There’s no tell who’ll feel your wrath after four Blue Motorcycles.

Hm. This is quite the uh...departure, Corin. I mean, nothing ever looks bad on you but where on Earth would you even wear this to? Where would it even work??? ...Oh, right! The Festival of Adorableness! Awkward or not, you’ve made it work. I’m willing to bet the Division of Subversive Cute helped out with this ensemble. Kudos to them! I’m sure burning it afterwards was incredibly satisfying for you.

Swimwear

Why are you looking so bedeviled, Corin? How, when you look that prepared for a pool party, can you possibly be in such a foul mood? Oh...oh wait. Malantha has hidden your sunblock, hasn’t she? Goshdarnit! How can you possibly be evil without being as pale as your skin tone will allow?! That Malantha...she truly is evil, isn’t she?

Welp. I guess if you’re going to get a tan, might as well hit every spot you can. Suck on that, Malantha! (....) Also, breaking out the zebra print speedo wasn’t the worst idea you’ve ever had, and I both applaud, and ready my binoculars for, you choice of white swimwear. No booty shot? Ugh. Fair enough...gotta leave something to the imagination, I guess. #disappointmentOverdose

Warm Weather Wear

This is the look of a man about to take off on his mega evil yacht and never look back. That shirt, unbuttoned down to where it is suggestive but not desperate, those shorts, defining the thighs while still looking professional, those boat shoes that scream class and bless you for not wearing socks with them. There is a thin line between evil and insane and you ride it perfectly.

Apparently, even evil knows it wouldn’t be summer without an obnoxiously bright Hawaiian shirt. Ain’t even mad. Oooh, and white pinstripe pants....why yes, dear, they do make you look taller and thinner! I can almost hear you now, as you swagger out the front doors, “I’m off to the Maldives, screw y’all! Also, if a single brick is out of place when I get back, I’ll kill you.” You tell ‘em, Corin.

Cold Weather Wear

Brrrrrr. Generally, evil is always cold, dark, and hateful but sometimes even the weather puts up a good fight. Stylish as ever, you have broken out a very elegant scarf and jacket, expertly layered as to properly insulate all of the darkness within. No hat, though? Of course not. Evil does not get that chilly.

I’m not 100% sure but I’m gonna go with Hero/Partner in Mystery Dungeon. It’s just a very nice dynamic, the hero and partner are a TEAM even outside of name, and have such a strong bond... partner grows such much thanks to hero, and they really mean the world to each other...

fandom HAS sucked me into ships after I already got into the thing though. Fan content is the entire reason I hopped aboard the Angheki train and will probably never get off of it, cause it’s fun to think about the fact Anghel can canonically see Nageki... and thus think about the ensuing shenanigans of that... and how Anghel would be SO into the whole ghost shtick.... it’d just be fucking hilarious and so is vry vry good

- Do you have a favorite trope and/or AU for your OTP?

So I never thought I was weak for particular tropes, but when I actually look over my favorite ships, there’s just... there’s so many pairs that just prove, opposites attract. Partially because the comedic potential and banter of people who are extremely different from each other is superb, partially because then their strengths will compliment each other and make up for each other’s weaknesses in a way that truly makes a ship a good team, and also partially cause having to learn to understand and truly connect with someone so different from you is a good way to help you grow in ways you might not be able to without embracing such an opposite mindset to your own...

“drama queen and their morosexual” is a particular sub-trope of this tho that’s just. yes. perfect. fucking superb. I eat that shit up. 

i’m also a sucker for some good ol’ fashioned angst but idk if that counts as a trope

- If you could change one thing about your OTP, what would that be?

for the oc otps - just. make it so there could be more content that i don’t have to create myself... please............

Probably more canon content/interactions for both of them. Blupjeans is fucking superb, Griffin set up a lovely romance there, but it doesn’t feel like we get to see a significant amount of it either?? Griffin give us more content of their life as the reaper squad. Please. I need it. 

And for Ryousaku... There’s just not really a lot of interaction outside of BBL, which is a damn shame. It’s one of the nicer dynamics for Sakuya, and Ryouta doesn’t really get much focus on solid friendships or anything, so just... please Moa... please let them talk more....

sanjay dutt?

Why I like them: This is a bit tough, not because there are no reasons to like him lol, but because there are multiple reasons to like him. Actually, what I feel for this guy is immense love, the kind of love that I cannot explain, just something that I feel very strongly, but anyway let me put this into words.

Sanjay Dutt is someone who has a very endearing inner core. He basically seems like a child underneath a big 6 feet body, and this much I can decipher just by watching him perform or watching him offscreen. His eyes are the windows to his soul, and they reflect nothing but beauty, his smile is one of the most cute, genuine and childlike smile I have ever seen.

God bless this laughter!

Another trait that I admire about him is his honesty, he is not afraid of judgement, he says it like it is, and says it like a boss. Openly confessing to doing all the drugs in the book or confessing to sleeping with 308 women are not at all easy things to confess.

And might I add that most people I know are forgiving towards all these confessions, because at the end of the day he is Sanjay Dutt, and he will be loved, regardless of what he says, he has a hypnotising charm, once you love him you cannot stop.  

Sanjay Dutt is not politically correct, he never has been, and he never can be, that is why his interviews are intriguing and fun. We are all like Anushka’s character in Sanju, intrigued with the honesty and impressed with the personality.

Sanjay Dutt is someone who has amazing amount of mental strength. If anyone else was in his position he would probably be in deep post-traumatic stress. However this guy is made out of steel, in spite of it all he managed to have a good career and a good life. Kudos to the resilience. Kudos to the person.

Instead of crying about all the trauma, he bounced back, he forgave people, and continued to be the loving and jovial person he is. There is nothing that can ever stop his zest for life.

He is a brilliant actor! And I love the kind of cinema he stands for! I cannot stress this point enough! I don’t know if my words will be able to do justice to his talent! But hey let me give it a shot!

Sanjay Dutt is truly a natural actor, he feels his character, nothing about his acting is ever “put on” that is exactly why all his characters, whether good or bad, are so impactful to the audience, like Hrithik once rightfully said:

“There are a very few actors who seem like they are feeling their character, and Sanjay Dutt is one of them. He scared me while we were shooting for Agneepath. I was like do you actually really hate me?”

I think Sanjay Dutt is the kind of actor who puts his soul in the character he plays, that is exactly why people like me are able to form a great connect with all his characters, you are able to feel for them deeply, because it is portrayed with a lot of soul. Like the great Nasseerudin Shah once said:

“Sanjay’s eyes can reflect real pain, unlike any other young actor. This is because Sanjay has already gone through so many experiences in life, experiences which have contributed to him being a good actor already. A good actor is one who can add to his range as he goes through various personal experiences in life. This look of pain endows Sanjay with both vulnerability and raw power on the screen.’‘

Some of his fans also do a rather amazing job at describing the vulnerability that Sanjay brings to all his roles. Exhibit this:

“The more I watch Saajan the more I am struck by how deep an insight into his soul Sanju gives us in his (at times heartbreaking) portrait of a sensitive poet. How much suffering, despair and loneliness can be seen in his eyes when he is overcome by mental anguish! In my opinion, for the understanding of Sanjay Dutt as a human being, Saajan is as important as Naam.”

I don’t think any amount of quotes can do full justice to the talent this man has, but let me just put it this way, I honestly feel every emotion he goes through in almost every performance of his, he is able to communicate so much even without saying a word, he is one of those very rare actors who does not have to overdo their performance to be effective. I think he is damn underrated, and so are some of his movies, some of them are legit masterpieces. Although, a lot of his characters do have a cult following, especially the characters Raghu (Vaastav) and Munna Bhai.

However my favourite performance of his is quite underrated, and that would be of Inayat Khan from Mission Kashmir.

This movie is amazing and deserves a lot more credit then it gets. Sanjay Dutt’s acting in it is terrific, his performance in this movie always moves me to tears. Not once does Sanjay Dutt’s acting  gets “dramatic” but it is still so impactful. He doesn’t say much yet his eyes have so much to say. His random outbursts of sadness, anger and anguish is something that is to watch out for. And like his every performance he puts a lot of himself in the character. Inayat Khan is not perfect, but he has a good soul, a heart that is in the right place. Inayat Khan is most of the time full of strength and is the protector, however that does not mean he is not capable of crying like a baby when it hurts way too much. Honestly I see a lot of Sanjay Dutt in this character, it is a character that was meant to be played by him. Sanjay Dutt is a potent mixture of vulnerability and strength and so is Inayat Khan, and that is exactly why the character comes alive, the character feels very real and it moves you at every moment. The character is portrayed brilliantly, and even though Sanjay Dutt did win some awards for it, I do not think this movie and his acting in it got it’s credit. This movie is ahead of it’s time and is an underrated gem. It makes for a splendid watch. Too bad it came at a time when romances and comedies were the “in thing.”

He is extremely Humble and Passionate:

Sanjay Dutt was no.1 in Bollywood when he got arrested in a very controversial case, just when everything was finally looking up for him it all went completely downhill. After showing support, many producers and directors decided against casting Sanjay Dutt in their movies. From being no.1 and to having all the success that he deserved, his career went to a minus due to a huge controversy.

Not only this, but for 1.5 years he stayed locked up in terrible conditions. If this happened to any other actor they would have collapsed, nothing is more important to a Bollywood actor than success and their ego, this sudden rejection after massive success is not an easy pill to swallow, especially not for a narcissist. Thankfully Sanjay Dutt is not one. He came out, did whatever work he got and made his way up again.

And he did not work hard or work in a zillion movies afterwards to prove a point, but just because he believed in doing his work with love and dedication, nothing less and nothing more. He did his karma and didn’t care for the results, and that is the kind of passion for work  and humbleness that everyone should aspire to have.

as Mahesh Bhatt once said:“One of the things I loved about working with him was the relief of finding an actor who is not narcissistic. I remember thinking during Naam: This guy doesn’t give a damn about how he looks on screen, he leaves it to the cameraman and just goes and does what he’s supposed to. And this in an industry where men (and macho men, not just the pretty boys) go to huge lengths to control how they look on screen — lighting, best profile, best angle — spend hours, like women, in front of their mirrors before they give a shot. Not Sanju. It was a relief to find a male who was not in awe of his own physical form. I don’t think I’ve found an actor who fits that bill in all my life.”

Why I don’t:  He doesn’t know how to sell himself.

Favorite film/scene:

If I have to choose one scene, it would be the scene in Mission Kashmir in which Inayat khan gets furious with his wife. Inayat Khan is a person who has always been extremely supportive towards his wife and clearly loves her a lot. Hence the anger that he has towards his wife in that scene is more about the hurt he feels, as he feels betrayed by someone who is very close to him. I think after suffering so much in life, this angry outburst sums up the hurt and despair he has been going through for so many years. Even though he may be in the wrong here, the outburst seems so straight from the heart, and is so raw that you cannot help but feel bad for him. I think that is a mark of a great performance. Sanjay Dutt’s characters are never politically correct, but because his emotions are so raw and are so honest, you cannot help but just root for him, and see things from his perspective. I mean he even made one feel bad for his character in Khalnayak, even though he was completely in the wrong throughout, again I empathised the most with his character in that film when he has an angry outburst regarding his Mother. Sanjay Dutt’s angry outburst in most movies are about him portraying an explicable amount of sadness and frustration, and I look forward to such scenes of his. His anger displays his vulnerability, and that makes for a great watch.

Favourite line: “Mujhe jo iys desh se mohabbat hai, woh kisi IS officer ki mothaj nahin” (Mission Kashmir). I also love the song he has sung for his movie ZINDA. The song is called “Kabhi Muskurake” and that song kind of sums up his life.

Favourite outfit: He looks hot in everything he wears, I am quite a fan of his late 80s and 90s fashion though, the beautiful long hair, a nice white shirt, and a nice pair of jeans on his tall legs is always a winner!

OTP:Non-romantic definitely him and Govinda. They are a laugh riot, they have created some of the most epic comedies together!

OTP: Sanju has shared great chemistry with everyone, but I think I will only ship him with me! LOL

Unpopular opinion: Sanju is mainly known for his intense action dramas or comedies, however I feel he is extremely underrated as a romantic hero. I think Sanjay Dutt always shares amazing chemistry with his female costars. I think his height and big broad shoulders make him look very attractive, and to add to that he has this cute child like innocent face to go with it. He is like every woman’s dream man. I think he is very underused as a romantic hero. Great love stories could be made with the intensity he has. I love when he hugs his heroines, he always closes his eyes while doing so, it is very cute.

A wish for them: Do more great movies

{Quick request to anyone reading: I’m watching OUaT for the first time, and I want to avoid spoilers. So, if you want to discuss something spoilery, I’d be grateful if you could start a new post for that. Thank you!}

Well… That sure happened

Now that I am nothing more than the hollowed-out, broken shell of a person, let me share my feelings with you! But under the cut. (Fair warning: there is a lot of sadness in here. Proceed with caution and maybe a mug of hot chocolate. Also, don’t open this on mobile. I went a bit screencap-happy.)

I loved this episode? So much? I know, I was really subtle about it, and it’s possible to miss amidst all the crying but hoooly crap, this is easily among my Top 3, I think.

Alright, quick rundown of the “side plots”, because while That Thing™ is definitely at the forefront of my mind after watching, the other stuff going on was actually pretty good and important plot developments. Which, really is another point in the episode’s favour. Yes, the Halloween-plot worked well to space out the other stuff, and it provided some much-needed relief of tension, but it was clearly important in its own right, so…

Guh. Henry. You know I love you, but I will also find a way to smack you in the head with a rolled-up newspaper, because you are an idiot. …yes, I get that he feels like he just lost his family all over again, and that’s not something that inclines people to adventurous behaviour, but still. You were so close!

Instead, we get this:

Which, uh… I’m not saying Ivy shouldn’t have good things in life, because lord knows, that was a sad, sad story right there, but this also did not sound like you two will be good for each other. Neither of you really want a safe, “uncomplicated” romantic relationship, you want a family. Ivy, specifically, needs someone to who doesn’t just love her conditionally, and Henry… well, Henry mostly just needs to wake up from the curse, because what he wants will be all over the place until he does.

Still, Ivy’s moment of bravery when saying that she’ll deal with Belfrey and the others should enjoy their Halloween was pretty heart-warming. Did I mention that this lady worries me? I’m worried for her, and I am still worried about her.

In other news: I’m pretty sure I know where Hook’s daughter is, now.

I mean, I could still be wrong, but that seems like one hell of a red herring to put out. And it opens up so many questions! Did they meet again before the curse, or is this a horrible game of emotional keepaway? Does Rumple know who these two are to each other? What, exactly, is his relationship with Tilly/Alice? I mean, he was so ready to fight Tremaine over her, before and after he woke up, and he went into 107% Concerned Dad Mode when he thought she was hurting, so he clearly feels very protective of her, but when did that happen? How did that happen? Is she actually this “guardian” or is that Henry? Or is this just one big prophecy-screw, after all? Seriously, you’d think after that first disastrous experience, Rumple would have learned to never trust a prophecy. Ever. Why am I the only one here who remembers that??

Ahem. Anyways. Lots of potential there. I can’t wait to see how that one unfolds.

Other highlights included Weaver butting heads with Belfrey. It was glorious. I almost wish Rumple had woken up just a little bit later, because watching these two go up against each other was a pure delight.

I was also deeply amused by the conversation between Weaver and Rogers. Okay, maybe “amused” isn’t quite the word, because it’s clear that Roger’s cold case is how the curse incorporated his search for his daughter into his memories, so it could keep torturing him with the loss. Which, you know, doesn’t really qualify as amusing. But Weaver is the walking, talking personification of that meme “’I don’t care,’ I say, caringly, as I care way too much.”

Yes, it is immediately obvious that you do not care about anyone. At all. Not even a little.

Really, the relationship between Weaver and Tilly might just have made it on the top of my list for this season, on the strength of this episode alone. The way this kind of terrible person cared so deeply for young woman, showed concern for her well-being, and directly jeopardised his own advantage and safety to help her just pushed aaaall of my buttons.

And Tilly’s mounting desperation to remind Weaver of who he really is, before she loses herself again was heart-breaking to watch. She knew she wasn’t getting out of this with her mind in once piece, but right until the end she didn’t stop fighting to help her friend.

…look, “help” looks different for different people, alright?

Thanks, show! It’s not like I really needed my heart in the first place. Fantastic light, though.

So, I pretty much knew what was coming (in general terms at least), because… well, I had some warning and it didn’t take that much guessing in the first place. And I saw the “how” the moment that montage started because I, too, have seen Up.

I still cried like a hungry baby. My cat was very concerned.

please. your face. I cannot deal with this.

This was such a well-told story. They really gave it their all to show that yes, these two were happy, at the end. The montage, for one, which even for people who haven’t seen Up works as a good visual shorthand. The nostalgic clutter in the house. The fact that these two dorks still dance around the house when they feel like it. All the little gestures between them—the fond looks, the little tuck of a blanket, Rumple matching Belle’s steps perfectly as they walk out into the garden. I just… they were so happy together.

And I’m glad they told the story like this. Nothing bad happened to Belle. Her life wasn’t some inspiring tragedy or anything like that. She spent her life with her True Love. She raised her son and saw him grow up well. She got to fulfil her dream of travelling the world, and did so together with the people she loved most. And she died after a long and happy life, not in some grand, dramatic fashion, but simply because that is what mortals do. We die.

hi, is anyone else absolutely convinced that he carved that with his own two hands rather than use magic? because I am and I want to share my feelings! there’s quite a lot of them…

And just… you know, when that conversation with Gideon happens, and Rumple says ruefully that time might have stood still for this realm, but it didn’t for Belle… you just know he forgot about it. They were together, and they were happy, and he was so determined to spend the rest of his life with her that he didn’t realise what was happening right until she fell off that ladder. It’s clear they’d never talked about him using his magic to rejuvenate her before—that was the first time the topic ever came up, I think. And the last, of course.

(By the way, there’s totally a conversation about fridging to be had here, but I’d prefer that to be another post. I’m really deep in my feelings right now and I’d rather leave putting on the analytical hat for later in the day.)

Obviously, that entire death scene fucked me up. His face. Her face. The way they told each other their own story like it was a fairy tale (because it was!) Rumple’s half-sobbing “I am afraid”, because he sees the rest of his life without Belle looming before him and he doesn’t know how to do it. He never planned to, in the first place. And then she was gone, and he was crying, and I was crying, and the camera cut away, and you could still hear him sobbing in the background god why...

yes, I will be interspersing this with pictures of my OTP being happy and in love, why do you ask?

And while I’m a bit sad that I’ll never find out what Weaver really wanted, this very clearly sets the stage for Rumple’s motivations and goals this season. Because this episode, beautiful as it was (no pun intended), can’t be the last entry of the Rumbelle story. This was the end of act 2, and I insist on a third act. The stage is all set: Rumple needs to get rid of the dagger so he can be reunited with Belle, which, granted, a bit dark. Considering it means he’s going to die (and won’t that be a fun day…) At the same time… he said it himself: he’s seen the generations pass by and he doesn’t even want to be immortal anymore. He was planning to spend the rest of his life with Belle. Just because he wasn’t physically able to doesn’t invalidate the decision he made. He’ll just have to get there the long way around.

And can I just mention how damn impressed with Rumple’s character development I was? He threw away the dagger! Not in a moment of “do or die” crisis, not as part of an “either, or” ultimatum, no, he was just… done with all that. He didn’t want the Dark One anymore, and nobody had to push him into that realisation. So much for “my power means more to me than you”, huh, past!Rumple? (Also, is it just me or did it feel a little like he waited for Belle to be roughly his physical age to do that? Because it did to me, and I have a lot of emotions about that.)

Just… guh, my heart! And the poor cup got shattered.

Again.

Everything about that last confrontation between Alice (because at that point she could barely remember ever being Tilly) and Weaver messed me up, by the way. Her mounting desperation, because she didn’t have much time left. His frantic pleading, first because he was worried she’d hurt herself and then that she’d do something she wouldn’t be able to come back from.

And, of course, that last scene between Rumple (welcome back, buddy!) and Tremaine. I’d almost feel sorry for the woman, because she probably wasn’t counting on this happening. Though I would disagree with Rumple’s “there’s nothing you can do to hurt me”--you, my friend, just lied your ass off to help Tilly get out of trouble for shooting you. After waking up. Clearly there’s some people you still care about, and I can’t wait to see how that plays out, honestly.

And there’s so much more. I could just post stills of the entire montage here, really, because it was wonderful and I loved it, even as it cracked open my ribcage and held my still-beating heart up to my eyes so I could see the life go out of it.

…ahem. All right. Deep breath.

Like I said at the top, this episode actually had some important developments that seem like they will be catalysts to kicking the plot into gear. …and as soon as my emotional batteries have recharged, I’m sure I will be very excited about that. In the meantime… please send fluff?

Is Darren’s watch gay?

Today the CC fandom has a theory that Darren wore his PINK and blue watch because it’s a “gay” watch or a symbol of his queerness.... because PINK obviously means gay, right? 

The watch has the added advantage of being both pink and blue ...therefore it’s a solid representation of both Chris and Darren -at least according to the CC belief that blue represents Chris and PINK represents Darren, like DUH! For anyone new, the color symbolism is something the CCers have long believed....I mean, that is something normal adults do right? Assign colors to their OTP or even better, to themselves and then actually wear those colors once a year to send a secret “high-five” to those fans who are paying enough attention to “get it”..I mean it’s totes normal, right?

Hello nonnie!!!!  Excellent observation.  That is a watch he has had for years, He used to always wear it, now much less, likely not approved by his team, plus often the watch he wears now is a paid endorsement.

But the pink and blue watch, that is genuine D and what he loves.  Add pink is D and Blue is C and those colors have been associated with their relationship since the beginning.

I always smile when he wears that watch. I think it is very special to him.

LSB rehearsal 2019. He clearly looks happy and like his watch is “special to him” and we all know that photos (and screen grabs) are PROOF of Darren’s emotions.

George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight 2012 

Apparently, Darren hasn’t worn the watch much -not something I have ever paid attention to- but it was spotted on his arm during rehearsals for LSB. It’s clearly not the same watch as the band is teal in the 2012 screen grab and blue in the more recent one.

If I remember correctly, this is not the original watch though. I don’t remember what he said about the original one, but he stopped wearing it for a while. At the first Elsie (or was it the second?), a fan gave him the new watch. There was a post about it back then, but I don’t know if it’s still around.

Anyway, I do believe though that he loves this watch for what it stands for - the original and the new one - so it always makes me smile when I see it!

(Plus, these BTS videos made it obvious that he is wearing the silver one for promotion and prefers the other one in private. And now look at the paps shots and so-called “private outings with friends” again and look at the watch he is wearing there.)

There is always a “no longer available” post to explain CC Confirmed. As for whether it is special to him? Darren has never indicated that the watch is special to him. That is called MAKING UP A STORY. But from this day forward the fandom will believe that this little queer watch is meaningful to Darren. 

The watch is a sporty, more causal-and presumably less expensive- than the watch he has been wearing.  Wearing a less expensive, more casual watch while exercising isn’t logical CC reasoning, noooooo, logical CC reason is of course that his team WON’T LET HIM wear it. He has to be sneaky when he wants to express his sexuality through accessories. Also, they claim that he is forced to wear a “paid endorsement” watch most of the time..

Sooooo, I’m not entirely sure why she brought up “JH promo” here, but I read it to mean that the watch that he normally wears is promotion for John Hardy. They have obsessively raged about the John Hardy jewelry since his trip to Bali in September. Yes, I am sure that was a promotional trip. Who cares? He got to spend a week in Bali and all he and Mia had to do was wear some jewelry. Darren seems to enjoy the designs as he has worn them quit a bit since then- UNTAGGED. I honestly never pay attention to these things but the CCers always comment. The thing is, something is only “promotion” on social media if it is tagged. Wearing an untagged ring or bracelet isn’t in anyway promoting the item. Only the most diehard, rage-filled fans recognize the untagged John Hardy pieces. The idea of promotion isn’t simply to get free stuff and wear it on social media, it’s to drive traffic to the John Hardy website and them to get people to actually purchase the pieces. Wearing them untagged doesn’t serve this goal. 

But back to the watch...is Darren wearing an (untagged) John Hardy watch as per his endorsement deal?

Uh, NO.  There are no John Hardy Watches. If he is wearing a promotional watch for a different brand-he really sucks at it.

Some thoughts on other CC comments:

So let’s analyze the facts: 

Chris gave him ring(s)? The CCers have long claimed that Chris gave Darren a ring, a ring he often- but not always-wears on his right hand. Over the years, there are I believe, 5 different rings that Darren has worn and all were attributed to Chris until the John Hardy rings were added in September. Why were they attributed to Chris? Literally NO reason whatsoever other than their fantasy.  These same people have raged over their claim that Mia has sported 5 different engagement rings in the last year. The rings all look to me like the same diamond ring with other rings added when the mood struck her. CC Mia is horrible for caring so little about her Engagement Ring that she would wear 5 different rings, but Chris is romantic AF for giving Darren 5 rings. 

The rings are meaningful to Darren? Darren has NEVER said the rings hold any meaning for him or who they are from that I am aware of. He doesn’t wear them consistently. Seems to me that they are fashion accessories and nothing more. He’s worn the John Hardy’s rings quite a bit since September.  Clearly, the CC fandom couldn’t claim the John Hardy rings are from Chris, so they fell back on their favorite excuse: his team “forced” him to wear the rings. I’m never sure exactly how one “forces” another adult to do something. I’ve been married for 24 years, if someone can tell me how to “force” him to do my bidding, I would love it.

Concur @ajw720. The thing is D has always found a way to fight back, sometimes subtly, sometimes overtly. We have seen it on the frontline, we do not see behind the camera or in the soecifics of his life. Sometimes I am sure he has sat it out, waiting. D has said too many times he is private, social media is not his way of communicating. He seems to pick whatever means he is afforded. Glimpses that we see, I love…it reminds me he is fighting and still remains the human being I so love and support. He is Dar/ren Eve/rett Cri/ss first and formost a son, brother, uncle, cousin, but first and formost a partner to one Chr/is Col/fer. He will do what he needs to do for those he loves. And that includes fighting a foe that we will never know the depth of.

The things are “subtle” because the fandom made them up...they are overt because they made them up.  As long as CCers continue to make up claims about what he is doing and how it represents a ‘fight”, Darren will continue to “fight” back in ways that are asinine. He will continue to hide deep In the closet while sending the CC fandom subtle messages of his “truth”.  He will continue to walk the red carpet with Mia and take her to awards shows where he says nice things about her. He will continue to be a straight bro, to wear John Hardy jewelry and play piano at Tramp Stamp Granny’s BECAUSE THAT IS WHO HE IS. The CC fandom will continue to claim that everything he does that we see and everything he says that we hear- is all fake or forced upon him by this team while he lives a secret queer life with his husband Chris Colfer. A life we cannot see or hear BECAUSE IT ISN’T REAL, it’s pure CC fantasy. And his story will continue to be something only they are paying enough attention to see it because they are the ones writing it.

D has said too many times he is private, social media is not his way of communicating. He seems to pick whatever means he is afforded. This is literally an argument for why he isn’t secretly communicating with the CC fandom via social media. 

Isn’t it convenient that “he seems to pick whatever means we fabricate he is afforded”? He will always “conveniently” do whatever fits the CC fantasy...that is how it works when you are writing the fanfiction as you go.

Is Darren’s life The Impossible Dream? The CC fantasy about love conquering all and CrissColfer being “a love for the ages” is how tweens and young teens believe love works. It is fodder for fanfiction and the best rom-coms, Twilight and Disney Princess-esque romance novels, but it isn’t real life. Real life is messy and hard. Love rarely survives even the most mundane stressors of life, it would never survive

7. Are your OCs part of any story or stories?                Most of them are part of a world that could be a story. Should be a story. They’re usually grouped up such as Leila, Ryan, Elek, Aiolia and few other belong to one, while Elinor, Sigrun, Jahan belong to another. However, honestly speaking, I’ve only written in story-specific way for Leila and Elinor + people around her. But for Elinor I’ve written a lot and maybe one day she will be part of actual, consistent, book style story.

8. Do you RP as any of your OCs? If you do, introduce one of your RP OCs here!                …. They’re all RP OCs. 99% of them are RP OCs. Made for specific RPs or in hopes they will get RP’d. Maybe the only exception is Genie and Sammy at this point, as I created Genie out of inspiration on a whim, with no intention to RPing her and I’ve been crafting sort of world around her with a good friend while actively not RPing her. Sammy sort of pranced into this world along, in similar fashion. But generally, they are all RP OCs.

17. Any OC OTPs?                 Since they’re pretty much all RP OCs, I sure as heck have OTPs but they involve OCs of other people, such as main OTP of Elinor (which has a legit ship name you guys). But I do also ship her with Jahan, both just with him and in a Poly relationship with a friend’s oc, but 1 on 1, their relationship is doomed to be him kind of unrequited crushing on her indefinitely. It’s not a love triangle in story because… There is something about him that marks him off the list of potential her life-partner list. She cannot overcome it just as much he cannot change this about himself. They’re just not meant to last on their own.

Malachy and Larry also have been in past relationship or more like he tried to date her, but that didn’t go well because she has commitment issues. Big Time.

Elek and Aiolia is… Elek kind of still hasn’t told me if he returns Aiolia’s feelings or not. Either way, he’s a noble dumbass who is probably going to die so he would not get involved with her easily anyway.

Leila, in concept, might have an OTP, but it’s the sort of tragic, they die in each other’s arms sorta OTP. I legitimately had dream about this and woke up sobbing. That’s how this OTP was created.

18. Any OC crackships?                 Elinor/Jahan frankly qualifies more as this than previous question. It’s a ship that cannot sail without another person on board and even then, it’s… just a crackship compared to main OTP I have. Also there’s a bunch that involve friend’s OCs, again.

Genie/Sammy is probably the crackiest concept that crossed my mind just now because I was trying all these mishmashes, lmao. Like, nope. Nevermind. It just doesn’t work. Unless as best aro/ace buddies platonically forever together.

20. Do any of your OCs sing? If they sing, care to share more details (headcanon voice, what kind of songs they like etc)?                 

I imagine whole bunch of them do, but I’ve honestly have never gone as far as to picture what they sound like. I just… have never been able to match any voice to them, sadly. As for music taste, they all have their own taste and it’s usually about 25% of music I enjoy. Or more. Leila is definitely into symphonic metal and stuff like Emilie Autumn, the real heavy, lyric powerful songs. Genie enjoys softer music, but will also love a good metal song. Is into kpop and not ashamed, but like, not really absurd about it. (Or so she says.) And so on and on.

35. Any sibling characters?                 

A lot. Growing up I realized I love playing 2 characters in same story and more often than not, they ended up being siblings which, I think, was my attempt to live out my fantasy what siblings should be like - bickering but supporting each other, etc. Unfortunately, only few made the list of my mentioned ones tonight, but Iantha’s and Saien’s whole plot revolves around them being siblings. (And they’re twins, for bonus points.) Somnia and Nocturne have a similar thing going on.

That they’re independent little fuckers that give me grief with their choices but also grow and develop in most magnificent, unexpected ways. That they’re all complex and often actually pretty mean, but not beyond learning and trying to heal. That most of them are infinitely more strong than I am.

WHAT HARRY POTTER CHARACTER DO YOU IDENTIFY WITH MOST?

Oh dear, that’s difficult. I suppose I identify most with someone like Sirius: Not quite what your family would expect of you, but content with that. A bit dodgy when it comes to your decision-making skills in social situations, opinionated, but with a heart in the right place.

That being said… I have never actually played Sirius… I prefer Death Eaters.

Lucius Abraxas Malfoy - I believe, per the naming patterns of the Malfoy men, that the middle name is traditionally the father’s first name. Draco Lucius Malfoy, meaning Lucius would be Lucius Abraxas Malfoy, and Abraxas would be Abraxas Brutus Malfoy.

BIRTHDAY / STAR SIGN

May 16th, 1954 - This puts Lucius pretty firmly in the Taurus range. I particularly like this for the following quote:

“Unlike the Aries love of the game, the typical Taurus personality lovesthe rewards of the game. Think physical pleasures and material goods, for those born under this sign revel in delicious excess. This zodiac sign is also tactile, enjoying a tender, even sensual, touch.”

OCCUPATION

Lucius works for the Ministry. I know this isn’t explicitly stated in the books, but I think it’s fitting. I imagine that his father, Abraxas, probably pulled strings to get him accepted with relative ease rather than letting his son toil for it. I headcanon him as working for the Department of International Magical Cooperation– specifically in the International Magical Office of Law. He is so politik, and I wouldn’t at all be surprised if he was some derivative of magical attorney. He knows what can and cannot be said, he’s calculated, and he is very good at getting out of things. He’d thrive in a law office. Additionally, on the international level, he’d be an asset to Voldemort because he can affect the influences leaving Great Britain as well as at home.

I am fine with Sam Claflin, but I tend to use Boyd Holbrook or Jamie Dornan. My preference would be one of the latter, particularly because I think Sam looks a little too boyish alongside Elizabeth Olsen, but if you disagree, that’s fine!

REASON FOR CHOSEN CHARACTER

I actually have always liked the Malfoys best in Harry Potter. Normally, I’m a Narcissa player, but in playing her I have come to understand the sorts of things I like out of a good Lucius versus a mediocre one.

He’s a character of subtlety, for sure. A lot of the pureblood way of life reads old-fashioned to me. I think that Lucius would understand the expectations placed upon him and would absolutely try to uphold those values, but he would also have reveled in the gifts he was born with. So he would know how to act in front of old-fashioned types, but I think he is also deeply in tune with the world around him. He’s stylish, observant, and calculating. There are very few people that can come between his goals/ambitions and whatever means necessary to achieve those things. I don’t tend to play a Lucius who is particularly nice to people who don’t matter to him, either. While he knows how to people-please and has no trouble groveling when it is the most beneficial course of action, he has pride to a fault. He wouldn’t pander to the Weasleys of the world unless he had something to gain.

Lucius has a way with words, he’s charismatic, he’s flirtatious, and he’s not afraid to get what he wants no matter who he has to step on.

That being said, I don’t accept the interpretation that Lucius would ever abuse Narcissa or the people close to him. He can be an asshole (he’s a Death Eater, after all), but rule number one in becoming an overlord is never turn against your queen or your inner circle. He would not risk his comfort among those with whom he shares status for much.

However, he is deeply principled. Lucius supports the Cause, and he believes in blood purity. His family is Pureblood back to its roots, and that means something. However, he also doesn’t particularly love getting his hands dirty. He’ll kill who he must and wreak havoc where it is asked of him by the Dark Lord, but he lacks the same sadistic streak that some of the others have. He wants to reap the benefits of being a Death Eater, but he doesn’t get off on the chaos.

Sexuality: Pretty stalwartly heterosexual, but I can see him possibly using someone else’s attraction to him to his advantage regardless of gender.

Lucius has never been shy about sex. He likes sex, he can and has used sex in the past to forward himself, etc. However, he does have decorum, so even his closest friends wouldn’t know much about his and Narcissa’s sex life–she matters to him, after all. Thus, he would respect their privacy. In school, Lucius likely had several lovers: he’s attractive, charismatic, and manipulative. I doubt he had a hard time getting women to want to sleep with him. He is not unfaithful to Narcissa, however, and left the days of many partners behind him when they were engaged.

He’s definitely distinctly dominant in the bedroom, though. He’s controlling about a lot of things in his life. I don’t think that would change behind closed doors.

Lucius’ mother died when he was in fifth year. His father cared very much for her, and Lucius himself definitely was a mama’s boy until he had to learn to get on without her. He doesn’t talk about her much

When his parents went into talks for the betrothal, he thought that he was going to be saddled with Andromeda. Narcissa was a welcome surprise.

A good portion of his family is French. He spent many summers in France growing up on the vineyard his grandfather owns. He speaks French fluently.

He is a wine connoisseur. Lucius loves wine and can tell you a great deal about it.

When he killed his first Muggle, he had to resist the urge to throw up. He didn’t, but he had never had to do something so visceral before.

Lucius chafing under the more visceral aspects of being a Death Eater would probably attract attention of the others. For a man whose status is the most important thing to him, navigating his justification for any reticence might be fun!

I see Lucius and Severus being close friends–he is the one who brought Severus into the fold, after all. So, assuming the RP’s Severus is interested in that, I think commiseration about their places in the Death Eaters would be nice.

I would love to talk with your Narcissa about why they only have one child. Did she have trouble getting pregnant? Did they only want one? I think there’s a lot to possibly explore there.

Most of the magical kit he had was sufficient for his needs. "For myself… Perhaps a spell to render someone more gullible might be interesting. It’s not really that difficult to make people believe what I want, but to not even have to try? That might be helpful.”

Frowning, he lifted a shoulder. “Those decisions that I know will benefit me in the long-run, but may be difficult to explain to my inner circle at the time of making them. Upsetting Narcissa is always something I try to avoid, but if we will be happier at the end of things, sometimes it’s necessary.”

REACTION TO LAST EVENT DROP

((I had some trouble finding this, but I saw that the last applicant mentioned the Daily Prophet being burned down))

Lucius is very busy trying to deal with the chaos resulting from the Daily Prophet’s temporary upset. After all, there is finding out why it happened and also figuring out how best to explain it away. The Ministry is abuzz with questions. Lucius would be focused on trying to figure out how to benefit himself and the Cause, while also minimizing possible inquiries from other countries as word got out.

WRITING SAMPLE: ((I borrowed Narcissa. Hope that’s okay))

The clock in the hall ticked steadily in the silent manor. The dim light in Lucius’ study was the only disturbance in the otherwise serene darkness as the house slept. However, there was hardly time for much sleeping when one thoughts were otherwise plagued. Of course, there was always the interminable question of "what was next”? Surely there would be some recompense for what had happened at the Daily Prophet. Undoubtedly, the Dark Lord was brewing a solution as he sat pondering.

When it had happened, Lucius had been… otherwise engaged. He recalled the raid he had been on the night before, remembering the mudbloods that had been hiding in the floor of all places in some blood traitor house. Bellatrix, per usual, had been wild at the chance to dole out what she thought was an excellent punishment for the crime. Lucius, for his part, had simply wanted to be done with all of it. Still, it wasn’t particularly simple to put out of one’s mind the scent of burnt flesh. Of course, he knew it was for the cause, and it wasn’t his place to question his orders. But could he be blamed for looking to the future? They were a threat, surely, and very few at the Ministry didn’t know that something was afoot, though most were intelligent enough not to discuss it where people might be listening. And yet he knew that a threat was something hardly concrete. He was working to maintain his birthright, just as all Purebloods were, but Lucius Malfoy longed for the rewards.

Of course, he was a loyal lieutenant–he would have to be a fool not to be. When the Dark Lord said to jump, Lucius responded with a blithe “How high?” When all was said and done, the work now would mean luxury later.

The thought had a scoff leaving him. He was no stranger to luxury as it was. Still, to have luxury and security… that he craved.

“Lucius?” Came a familiar voice from the door.

He looked up from his thoughts, tearing himself away from his rumination as a soft light outlined Narcissa’s golden curls. “I’d thought you were sleeping,” he said to her, pushing to his feet to cross to the doorway.

“I was,” she answered, voice soft so as not to disturb anyone else. “But then you never came up.”

Ever the dutiful husband, he was quick to give her a charming smile. He knew what was expected, and he could hardly have her sitting up staring at him while he said nothing at all. “How inattentive of me,” Lucius responded. “Shall we remedy that, Mrs. Malfoy?”

As she took his arm, he gave a wave of his wand to put out the light that still burned at his desk. Musing could wait–and had to, it seemed.

And yet how many would he need to help kill before all the rest of them bowed as they should?
