The new helluva boss episode just come out and it's so fun. Beelzebub is great, the way it deepened Luna's character is great and we really got to see her bond with Blitzo.
I also noticed some few things about Beelzebub in general.
1) Contrarly to the previous prince that we saw, Asmodeus who doesnt look like a succubus and is much more closer to his biblical counterparts appearance wise, Bee surprisingly looks like a normal hellhound.
Look at her!!! if you ignore the wings, the hair and the extra arms, she almost look like a normal helllhound !!! Wich brings me to my next point.
2) she also seems much closer to the general populace than Asmodeus and other high-ranking demons.
She throws a big party where she invites hell's lower caste citizens and makes sure they are having fun. She literally makes food for them to enjoy. She even worries for Blitzo when he gets too drunk.
It makes me think a bit and I ended up with a mini Theory
Princes are high-ranking demons so they definitely have shape-shifting powers and maybe they can choose what they look like. Maybe Beelzebub looks so much like a hellhound because she makes a conscious choice to resemble them to bond better with her people.
if so it's a nice change of pace from the standard depiction of elite who don't care or even despise their own people. Brings a nice change of pace.
makes me like her even more
#Also notice how she talks about the other princes#like they are siblings#especially the whole bit about belphegor#such strong sister energy#a dynamic I wasn't expecting but I want to see more of#overall a great episode#and also congrats to the team#helluva boss#queen beelzebub#queen bee

i've been waiting for gravity falls to become relevant again so i could share one of my favorite underrated bits from the entire show. like it's only episode 2 but this whole segment just makes me lose my shit. i think jason ritter's exasperated line delivery is what makes it
#something about the comedy in early gravity falls just hits different imo it's SO neat#also legend of the gobblewonker is just a really solid episode overall#i don't think i have literally any criticisms of it??? it tells a simple but meaningful message without undermining the audience#it has GREAT characterization for the main characters but especially the pines fam#lots of really memorable gags#THIS IS THE ORIGIN OF MY AIM IS GETTING BETTER#leo.txt#gfalls#gravity falls

I think the On1y One has spoiled me and now these 25 min First Note of Love eps feel waayy too short. Give me twice as long or two times a week, I am not patient enough for 25 minutes once a week anymore.
#the on1y one#first note of love#I generally prefer 45 min episodes overall#just my opinion but I think first note of love wants to use a decent amount of its time for other relationships which is great!#but I think it would be better served by longer episodes

okay i've only finished two seasons and maybe i have bad taste but i think star trek voyager is really good tv
#every good show with 20+ episodes per season has bad episodes#but like. seinfeld is generally understood to be pretty great#you know?#voyager so far has less bad episodes than TOS#why is the overall consensus that this show is bad#also the word 'bad' is sort of non-descriptive. <- but that's just me being a pedant#could watch more of it before making this pronouncement but i honestly just think it's Good

WARNING: SPOILERS IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN MAW YET
Just watched the first episode of Monsters at Work Season 2 and honestly, I like what they’re doing for Johnny Worthington. As much as I dislike him for what he did in MU, he seemed genuinely nice and supportive of Tylor. Seems like a decent dad too, by the looks of it (Real talk: I did NOT expect his wife to be Claire the first time I heard about it like girl wtf do you see in him? I actually wanna know-).
That being said, I still have a bad feeling about him.
Like I know he probably matured and became a better monster since the prequel but at the same time, maybe he didn’t. He either genuinely likes Tylor and wants to help him by giving him a job (based on the trailer) OR he’s only kissing ass now so he can use him as a pawn as some sort of revenge on Mike and Sully for cheating. It’s most likely both in a way, but it’s still a possibility.
Oh and here’s the episode!
youtube
#great episode overall though#i like tylor’s grandma#she’s fun#i wonder if we’ll see the other ROR members#i know we’ll see chet but what about reggie or chip or javier?#still haven’t forgot about ok though#and brock i miss brock#though since when was claire johnny’s type and vice versa?#monsters at work#monsters at work season 2#Youtube

Top 5 Arthur episodes?
D.W. Goes to Washington: It's a very close race between this one and #2, but I gave the edge to this one because almost every line here is classic. It's full of hilarious Imagine Spots and great D.W. zingers.
The Rat Who Came to Dinner: Another episode that's full of great jokes. The dynamic between Ratburn and Arthur's family is comedy gold.
The Contest: The pastiches of different animation styles alone puts this one in the top five, but it's also in service of some wonderfully absurd mini-stories with classic jokes. ("My brain was on cruise control" is the Arthur quote that gets the most use in daily life).
Buster Hits the Books: The pastiches of the different books are hilarious.
Arthur's Almost Boring Day: I had a very tough time choosing the fifth episode. I went with this one because the fighting between Arthur and D.W. reaches a hilarious fever pitch that goes beyond any other episode.
#answered asks#arthur#arthur pbs#lady-merian#this was extremely fun#and also surprisingly tough to answer because there are tons of episodes that have classic jokes#but it's harder to pinpoint which is the best overall episode#'the blizzard' (the ep paired with 'the rat who came to dinner') totally would have made this list if it weren't for the ouija board joke#my brother (i put this question to him one day) lobbied for the musical episode#which does have a lot of good bits but i had a tough time awarding the fifth spot to something written by That Man#'arthur's almost live not-real music festival' was a contender#but even though the songs are great as an episode it's not as compelling as some others#also when trying to settle on the fifth entry i skimmed through the wikipedia list of arthur episodes#and looking at the list that way#with the writers listed in a column right next to the episode names#individual styles become VERY clear#joe fallon goes for chaos (though he's got a lot of surprisingly tame ones)#kathy waugh has a certain type of heartfelt sentiment#there's a sandra willard who i never noticed on title cards before#but seeing her in the list she has a very distinct style#a sort of off-beat quirky sentimentalism#That Man actually has some really strong episodes early on#but as the seasons go on you see more and more of the preachy Very Special Episodes and they are all his#also going through the list that way reminds me of so many great bits across so many episodes

SOOO WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT SEASON 4???
(love your art btw!!!)
smeltbracket found dead in this kitchen
#okay in all seriousness though i fucking loved it#hands down favorite episode was earth rake#but also contending is stockiverse and.. Bouillabaisse..#i really love how family focused this season is. dont get me started on tervo. i love how much nicer everyone is to each other#except for them really juicing up korvo’s bitchiness in super gooblers (which i guess was meant to push jesse into her confrontation)#speaking of korvo his voice was a delight this season. just so expressive and is now up there with the rest of the casts distinct voices#i guess trying to ease back into finales that end with a season reset#and why didnt pupa change color??#overall it was pretty fucking great. had black spots in my vision during the invisible kitchen scene#tervo this season was fucking crazy my god what are they gonna do for the valentine special#UGHHH. they really keep raising the bar every season. SOOOO GOOD#this isn’t a very In Depth discussion of my thoughts sorry i need to spend more time in this seasons nooks and crannies#ooh ohh and the replicants this season were so cute too. THEY GREW TOGETHERRR#i liked the shlorp lore and little peeks into their past too#anyways i got sidetracked yeah amazing season#I FORGOT TO MENTION THE ANIMATION#THE ANIMATION THIS SEASON WAS BONKERS DUDE. LOVED HOW FLUID IT WAS AND ALL THE FUN NEW EXPRESSIONS THE SOLARS HAD#THAT SCENE OF THEM SAYING DEENOSAUR WAS LIKE MY FAVORITE EXAMPLE#gonna keep adding as i remember things im glad they wanted to explore jesses character more#but i dont like how they jeopardized korvos character for them to get there#kinda made him backtrack his progress for the sake of that episode :/ just a really big shift i wasnt a fan of#and they didnt make him feel remorse that whole episode either he didnt even say sorry :/#also terry was just chill with chris that whole episode? have we just moved past the hall of betrayals thing?#i guess jesse’s roast about him being sky blue really just set him off for the rest of the season#he needs to talk to someone professional#i feel like solars is a really weird blend of being umm. Emotionally episodic

the thing about me is that there is not one single episode of 911 that I haven’t enjoyed
#dani.txt#911#i genuinely love this show so much#obvs there are episodes that I think are better than others but I’m always having a good time#there have been plot lines I haven’t enjoyed that’s for fucking sure#but overall it’s a great time for me#actually let me just say it. the only plot lines I’ve truly hated are henren’s adoption ones#especially everything with nia#but that has more to do with how glorified adoption is in this world and in Hollywood#and less about the actual characters

Finally got around to finishing Netflix's ATLA adaptation. I have a LOT of notes, but I think the biggest one is this:
At the end of Season 1 of the original, Aang had at least started learning waterbending alongside Katara, and a little bit of Firebending with Jeong Jeong. Outside of the Avatar State, he had at least started 3/4 elements.
By the same point in NATLA, he's only at 1/4. I don't think this kid has bent a single drop of water. So far he is just a *really* good airbender who can do some spirit world stuff. That should give you a good idea as to why I have a few issues with it.
#THEY COMPLETELY REMOVED AANG LEARNING WITH KATARA ON THE WAY TO THE NORTH#LIKE I UNDERSTAND REMOVING THE BRIEF FIREBENDING EARLY ON TO SOME DEGREE#BUT THE TWO OF THEM LEARNING WATERBENDING TOGETHER WAS PRETTY IMPORTANT#I have a whole lot of other nitpicks like how they kept sprinkling in moments with Azula that didn't add much of anything#and how all of season one of natla didn't seem to establish her as well as the very first episode she was in from season two did#but this is just the biggest thing I have at the moment#atla#avatar the last airbender#netflix atla#natla#natla spoilers#netflix avatar the last airbender#cryptid says stuff#OH DON'T EVEN GET ME *STARTED* ON WHAT THEY DID TO BUMI HE FELT LIKE A DIFFERENT CHARACTER#overall it is better then the movie did by a HUGE margin and they got the main character's name right so thats something#there were definitely things about it I liked and places where there was clearly love put into it but also places that were not done great#there were changes they could have done better and changes that shouldn't have been made#and I think most of the problems I have comes from the 'could have done better' category and overall it wasn't THAT bad

!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
#A great episode tbh especially given the low budget. I feel like they really did their very best#And even though what I'm going to say next is probably going to be all critic - because I nitpick things and that's what I always end up–#talking about - I still want to underline that it was a very solid and enjoyable episode!!!#Alright the ss/kk was so 💞💞💞 every scene I had to rewatch twice or thrice akhscbashfb they're so cute!!!#Except for the riding scene tho. That scene gives me massive second hand embarrassment every time I just wish it will end as fast as–#possible pffttt. Mmmmhhh... The drawings weren't even too bad all accounted. My main complain is about the quicksand scene...#I feel like that one should be a slow quiet emotional scene. I never licked the choice of using the song as background soundtrack :/#I feel like it ruins the mood of the scene (it was still good though)#I also... Generally don't like the direction they seem to go for with Akutagawa's character in the anime‚ he seems quite a bit flatter–#compared to how he is in the manga. He can't be angry and evil ALL the time you need to show that softness get through from time to time.#If not what even is the point of his character. Yet in the anime he's angry (and not distraught) when he loses the mine craft and he's–#angry when he's questioning Atsushi about his motifs and he's angry when he's bragging about Atsushi's abilities to Goncharov and he's–#angry when he makes the promise with Atsushi at the end of the episode and eventually he'll be just as angry even when telling Atsushi–#to run away as he's sacrificing his life for him. It is pretty flat at the end of the day.#If I can say something about K/ensho Ono without being killed I think they do contribute to making him feel angry all the time.#But that said it's all probably poor directing choices (or simply choices I don't agree with).#Also‚ about cuts. Usually I try to be lenient about it– I understand it's hard to fit in everything and b/sd already does a very–#good job by adapting the manga almost panel-by panel. It's just that... You skip Akutagawa showing compassion for Atsushi after the–#orphanage director died. You skip Atsushi sharing the same compassion when Akutagawa loses his targed in the mines chase. You skip the–#“Nothing special about that. // I suppose he's far crueler than my own mentor.” line. And sure each of them may be negligible by their own#But together they wave a consistent web of relationship between the two characters you know? And it's a loss to omit them all#Well no mind. Again it was still a great episode overall!!!!#I think the colors in the mines could have been prettier in the mines but we can't have it all#Off to season 4!!! Omg I can't believe we got this far :DDD#random rambles#FINALLY was able to catch up in time for the season 3 finale!!!!!!

love season 2. i'm concussions! and i'm psychic visions! the headache brothers
#s2 might be my favorite full season hands down even though some of my favorite single episodes/emotional arcs come later#which is weird bc it also has a lot of stuff in it i DON'T like (the way gordon was handled. some annoying motws. et cetera)#but overall it's well paced entertaining has a great score as per usual for the early years . and balances intrigue with grief and fear#and they're SO headaches. the advil consumption in that household (carhold?) is in the double digits daily . ulcers forming as we speak#also croatoan is in this season! one of THE most dread-filled eps they ever did#plus of course what is & what should never be (goes without saying) all hell breaks loose part one last five minutes (goes WITHOUT saying)#etc etc#like you can tell there's a lot of gamble here but it's in a good way#um. the wizard van telepath. victor hi victor . sorry about these horrible boys . houses of the holy!! there's like zero complete misses#i think gabriel is annoying but the CONCEPT of his first episode was still great. don't love the early jodean dynamic but i like how it end#they spend a lot of time genuinely having to deal with The Law etc . the stuff that happens in this one more than even s1 sets the tone#for like everything that follows. for better or worse. the cycle of death/sacrifice/rebirth/sacrifice . the beginning of the religion angle#the expansion of the world (for a while anyway)#i'd go so far as to call it 'good television'#spn

#that's a wrap everybody!!#i liked it it was really cute#i think chisato and kouichiro were the highlights of this one in the case of the original 5#i think they had the most interesting dynamic and really kept the team together#i wish shun had gotten a bit more time bc the episode with the flute really created a lot of questions about shun as a person#yuusaku was such a great addition and my favorite overall what would they even do without him?#i wish we had more context around kubota and hineler's history together before the last episode especially since shiborena holds#the nezirangers were just as iconic as i thought they'd be and overall it was fun :)#such a significance to hineler but it's not really explained until the last episode i just feel a little more build up would've helped#megaranger lb#super sentai lb#umbrella.thoughts#umbrella.posts
