P. Baxter and the birth of Penny Halliwell.

"Boston. Hotel room. Breech."

Prudence Johnson, née Baxter, grew up with her cousin, Pearl Russell, on Prescott Street following the death of Pearl's mother defeating the Nexus unleashed in the 1906 earthquake. Despite having a happy childhood together, Prudence was forced to kill Pearl in 1924 in order to protect her from evil.

Not coping well with the trauma, Prudence and her husband, Gordon, decide to leave San Francisco and return to the beginnings of Prudence's wiccan heritage: Salem, Massachusetts. Here, the couple finally get to spend a few years of blissful married life together, and Prudence falls pregnant in the fall of 1926.

Deciding she wants her child to be born in the presence of the powerful Nexus her family reclaimed for good, Prudence and Gordon prepare to return to Prescott Street, traveling to Boston in order to board the train to Chicago, then to San Francisco. Their return is delayed, and during their stay in Boston, Prudence, despite her advanced pregnancy, can't help but save an innocent, named Penelope.

Penelope decides to visit Prudence to thank her for saving her life, and finds her alone in her hotel room, in labor. Penelope, fortunately a midwife-in-training, recognizes the baby is presenting breech and is able to help Prudence safely deliver the baby. While Prudence would never conceive again due to the difficult birth, she is grateful to Penelope for saving her baby's life, and names her daughter after her - Penelope Johnson.

Baxter Stockman had upgraded his mousers.

“Faster,” He had said. “Stronger. Better.”

“Able to kill within moments.”

Raphael hadn’t really absorbed the information. He had been too busy trying to decide whether it was more effective to throw his opponent over his shoulder, or into a wall(preferably a hard one).

So when Boxer-Braxer, whatever-gave a loud, terrible, impression of an evil laugh, and pressed a button on a remote control, he was all set to kick his ass.

He wasn’t set for an indefinitely long marathon all over New York City.

“Are- they-” Raphael sucked in a breath. “Still- on our- trail?”

“Unfortunately,” Donnatello answered, clutching a stitch on his side.

Michelangelo was uncharacteristically silent in an attempt to save his breath for running. Donnatello and Raphael glanced at him worriedly, unnerved by his lack of response.

Raphael made eye contact with his older brother. He tried to convey the message of ‘What’s the plan?’, but he probably looked more like ‘I’m depending on my older brother to get me out of this mess.’. Whichever Leonardo interpreted it as, he felt immensely relieved when his eyes hardened, blue pupils darting around, looking for escape. He raised a hand, pointing to a nearby water tower.

“We’ll climb on top of there,” He said, “And take a breather. Be careful, we don’t know what these new mousers are capable of.”

“Destroying stuff,” Michelangelo mumbled. “And being total pains in the ass.”

Raphael’s mouth twitched, but he didn’t comment.

Having reached the tall metal structure, Raphael brought up the rear as they climbed up the rusted ladder. Upon reaching the roof, Donnatello flopped down, taking care to not fall off.

“Ugh… I’m exhausted.” He sighed.

“No time for rest,” Leonardo warned. “They’re coming up the ladder.”

In a split second’s decision, Raphael realised that they weren't going to win, camping up here and fighting them until they were swarmed.

What if he…

“Raph, you better not be thinking what I think you’re thinking,” Michelangelo breathed, wide-eyed.

Raphael jumped off the tnk, into the swarm of mousers waiting below.

He crushed the first two, and stabbed the next with his sai.

Kick.

Stab.

Spin.

Repeat.

The steady rhythm of battle was almost comforting. He felt like he was in a trance.

A mouser jumped at his face, steel maw agape.

Well, if he was going down, at least he was going down saving his brothers.

The sharp blades closed down onto his neck, crushing his windpipe. Blood gurgled out of the wound, and Raphael found himself coughing and trying to breathe air that would never come.

Distantly, he registered his brother’s screams.

He collapsed to the concrete of the rooftop, metal feet treading over his body.

The electronic beeps and whirrs emitting from the small machines slowly faded into black…

Just wondering, is there ever a chance you could make a post of facts for Derek and Cove like you did for Baxter? I really love seeing all of that info put together!

I've definitely thought about it! Cove would be a far bigger endeavor though and I'm already doing the Cracking the Cove posts on him so at least at the moment I feel like he gets enough attention from me.

Derek I'd also have to think on more since I would probably have to not only look for posts about him but also his family just for maximum thoroughness, and the mental image of doing that already leaves me feeling drained lol.

Fountain of Frogs, Chapter 6/9: Nictitating Membrane

Fic summary:

It is the middle of covid shutdown and former student activist Jaden McNeil finds himself living with his new friend and colleague, right wing Internet provocateur Nick Fuentes, after being expelled from Kansas State over online statements considered inflammatory. Overtaken with the isolation, the two begin a physical relationship. While Jaden is convinced it is just a temporary dalliance to fill the void and means nothing, as the next two years roll on, he finds that Nick became a bit more attached than he had hoped.

After a brief, passionate rekindling of his entanglement with Nick, Jaden finds he does not appreciate the way he is being treated and tried to slowly distance himself from him on a personal level.

the woman is long gone by now. and she is certain that it wasn't her. that it wasn't katherine baxter. but for a moment, for just one brief moment, her heart skipped a beat and she was back there again, trapped in the sauna booth at maxwellness - a wellness and beauty centre - with the settings way up high, no way out, and a promise to wean her off of her friends ringing in her ears.

most people wouldn't know, though. they'd look at her and think her lost in thoughts. they wouldn't think twice about how her features seem to have frozen over within half a heartbeat.

but thor is the lord of thunder, and he is not most people. he is more compassionate than that. he is more compassionate than most.

his voice is like the strike of lightning, briefly illuminating the dark corners of her mind, cleaving through the fog of fear with a very simple question.

ironic, really, considering she's always been afraid of thunder storms. it comes with growing up alone in a large, empty house, she thinks. latchkey kid and all that.

"yes, please," khione says quietly as she clears her throat and then clears it again. it doesn't help and it doesn't matter; she still sounds like she's been gargling on broken glass.

I'm really out here developing a full backstory for the Warren line from the time they claimed the manor for good to the time of Penny's birth...... as if I would ever fully flesh out and write it..... like I've got all these ideas and I just want to ramble on about them but WHY when in a week's time I'll move onto something else and forget about this

It's sometime post Baxter's Step 4, of course, but it could be months or a few years after the end.

Juna is mainly a very pink and cutesy taste type of gal, but black pairs well with almost everything so they can make it work surely o(*￣▽￣*)o

I enjoy the details of all the clutter laying about, some of them being stuff the artist incorporated from the refs provided. It's fun to spot 🥰
