As a Jedi who rarely goes undercover, Obi-Wan is used to the occasional stare. Citizens of the Republic are all too often fascinated by the Jedi, and Obi-Wan knows he looks like a holo-perfect one. His choice of wardrobe rarely deviates from Jedi standard, and he’s been told he radiates the sort of complete inner peace that people associate with Jedi. It’s all very flattering and it mostly means that it is impossible for him not to be made as a Jedi the moment he steps out of the Temple.
So he’s rather used to the occasional stare from civilians. It’s almost to be expected.
He is much less used to that sort of attention within the Temple.
Especially within the Archives, where general practice and observation of decorum demands that all who are present must keep their noses out of everyone else’s business. Jedi do not come to the Archives to chat. They come to research, to learn, to study.
They certainly do not come to the Archives to gawp at other more respectable Jedi.
Obi-Wan tries to convey this in the glare he sends across the cavernous reading room to the padawan currently watching him from between the stacks of datapads.
It must work because the padawan’s eyes widen and then he ducks out of sight, disappearing in a flash of lilac robes, the color of fabric denoting an Archival padawan.
Huh.
He’s never drawn the ire of the Archival Jedi before, and he doesn’t quite understand what he could have done now. After all, he is waist-deep in a research project for Grandmaster Yoda—he is in the Archives almost every day of the week and makes a point to abide all of the Archive’s customs and rules.
When Obi-Wan leaves a few hours later, daily notes carefully tucked away in a bag and two datapads on loan, he checks with the droid that scans the serials on the ‘pads, but the droid has no record of Obi-Wan Kenobi possessing an overdue ‘pad or flimsi-book.
It’s strange.
But then, padawans are strange creatures. Probably why Obi-Wan doesn’t think he’ll ever have one himself.
—-------------
Three days later, he returns to the Archives, one datapad in his bag for return.
It’d looked promising on the shelf, a database containing different accounts of the oral history of Jedha, but upon further perusal, it had been useless to his needs. What Obi-Wan was researching—what he needed to find were descriptions of the earliest Jedi on Jedha. The growth of two factions inside that temple, told from an outsider’s point of view.
What he needed to find was a description of the beginning of the Sith, and that was proving difficult.
He deposits the datapad at the droid’s counter, tapping his fingers along the surface for a moment in thought before he turns to stride deeper into the Archives. He supposes—there are planets outside of Jedha with histories heavy in Sith ideology. He does not have to start with Jedha, even if that’s where the Sith Order began.
He can pull a list of the most notorious Sith lords; he can note down their homeworlds, perhaps request Council permission to travel to those planets. To understand the past, one must understand the present too—or the nearer decades of history at the very least.
It’s a place to start, anyway.
Two hours later, he has neatly copied down the names, titles, and homeworlds of six different Sith lords.
And then he runs into a problem. His search of the Sith Lord Plagueius results in a short missive from the database:
>> User: OWKenobi, ACCESS has been denied. Your activity has been flagged as SUSPICIOUS.
Obi-Wan’s eyebrows furrow, and he looks around himself, half wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same sort of problem.
But the group of Initiates closeby seem to be carrying along fine, giggling quietly to themselves as they pick at the keyboards in front of them.
Obi-Wan frowns and turns back to his own keyboard, deleting the name of the Sith lord and typing in another’s. Darth Feindan, a ruthless Sith who had lived close to five hundred years ago, known as the ghost of the Outer Rim and known for—
>> User: OWKenobi, ACCESS has been denied. Your activity has been flagged as SUSPICIOUS.
Alright. Fine. Darth Derritus. He had risen to power a thousand years before, because of—
>> User: OWKenobi, ACCESS has been denied. Your activity has been flagged as SUSPICIOUS.
“What?” Obi-Wan murmurs to himself, putting down his stylus finally to stare at the locked screen.
When he drags the cursor across the screen, a new message pops up.
User: OWKenobi, your account has been LOCKED. Please see SYSTEM ADMIN for SUPPORT.
He blows out a shocked, annoyed breath, standing from his desk. Alright. Obviously there’s been some sort of mistake, and Obi-Wan can sort of understand what’s happened. The Sith are not much of a threat to the Jedi Order in this day and age, but they’re still considered rather…taboo.
Obviously, his purely academic interest was flagged as suspicious because of the nature of some Jedi attitudes towards the remnants of the Sith.
All he’ll have to do is talk with the Archival staff and get his access back. Perhaps Jocasta Nu is present today. He will tell her of the error, that he has been assigned a research project by the Grandmaster Yoda, and she will straighten things out.
Yes, she’ll handle it completely.
Only it’s not Master Nu behind the Archival desk when Obi-Wan approaches the front entrance.
It’s the same lilac-clad padawan that Obi-Wan had caught glaring at him all those days ago.
And to make matters worse, the boy is glaring at him again, watching him approach with his arms crossed over his chest.
Obi-Wan fights the urge to glare back. He is an accomplished Jedi Knight, and this is a youngling.
Well, not a youngling. He is obviously a senior padawan, braid long enough to reach past his shoulder and rest over his heart. Obi-Wan would put him at perhaps eighteen, perhaps twenty. There’s something still rather boyish about his features, despite the overall pleasantness of his dark eyes, soft lips, apparent cheekbones.
Though that just may be the childish scowl he’s wearing as Obi-Wan approaches. As soon as he gets to the counter, however, the boy drops his eyes to the book in front of him as if it’s suddenly the most interesting thing in the world. “Hello,” Obi-Wan says, because he is an accomplished Jedi Knight who is capable of keeping annoyance out of his tone. “I seem to have run into a problem with my research.”
“Oh?” The senior padawan says, sounding somehow both insouciant and insolent. Obi-Wan bites on his tongue so he cannot say any of the first five things that pop into his mind. “Yes,” he says instead. “The problem being that a system administrator seems to have locked me out of my account.”
The system administrator in question turns another page in his book. “What were you researching?”
“Information that I as a Jedi Knight have the right to access,” Obi-Wan snaps, irritation seeping into his tone despite his best abilities. “Now can you please give me back my account permissions, padawan—” he breaks off and cranes his head to look at the nameplate on the desk.  “—Skywalker so that I can get back to work?”
Padawan Skywalker shuts his book with much more force than is required as he turns his face up to glare at Obi-Wan. “You’re researching the Dark Side.”
“I’m certainly trying my best to,” Obi-Wan replies drily. “It would go a lot faster if you would unlock my account.”
“Why are you researching the Dark side?”
“Because I’m deliberating the benefits of Falling and would like to understand their position on universal healthcare for Dark side users before committing, padawan. Now, could—” “You’re not funny,” Padawan Skywalker says furiously, lips suddenly pinched white, taking his book and his bag and turning away.
Obi-Wan watches him go with his mouth open.
Well, he supposes that means he must put a pin in researching the Dark side for the moment.
Good thing he has just stumbled upon another subject worth investigating.
—--------------------
He feels rather sheepish the next day when he returns to the Archives with a cup of take-away caf in one hand and folded piece of flimsi in the other.
Thank the Force Padawan Skywalker is behind the front desk once more.
Damn the Force that Padawan Skywalker is behind the front desk once more.
He’s leaning with his head on the palm of his hand, pushing his stylus around on a blank sheet of paper with the Force as his other fingers drum restlessly over the protective covers of the datapads near him.
“Does your master allow you to use the Force in such a needless way, padawan?” Obi-Wan is saying automatically before he can bite his own tongue off which really would have been preferable. Anakin Skywalker lets the stylus drop and glares up at him as if he thinks so as well. “What are you doing back here?” He says, an accusation.
Obi-Wan, because he may be more of a youngling than he gives himself credit for, says, “This is a public place.”
And Anakin Skywalker, who is every inch a nineteen year old child, sneers and replies, “Maybe for people with account access,” which really just makes Obi-Wan want to close his eyes and take several deep breaths and then pinch at the bridge of his nose.
But he cannot do that, because he’s holding a piece of flimsi paper in one hand and a cup of apology caf in the other one.
So instead he places the caf on the counter and pushes it closer to Anakin. “I didn’t recognize you,” he says before Anakin can decide to throw it at him or push it away or point out the sign at the entrance to the Archives that says, in very bold letters, NO FOOD OR DRINK PLEASE.
Thankfully, Obi-Wan’s words throw him off guard. “What?”
“Yesterday,” Obi-Wan says patiently. “I didn’t recognize you nor your name. I’m sorry, Anakin.”
Anakin blinks. For the first time in ten years, Obi-Wan is treated with the sight of the boy’s face without a glare or sneer or unpleasant expression. He’s all wide-eyed disbelief, slightly parted lips, dark eyelashes, darker brows, creased in confusion.
Obi-Wan suddenly and very intently misses the sneer. At least then the boy was too annoying to be considered attractive.
He’s much too young to be considered attractive now, Obi-Wan reminds himself rather pointedly.
And he’s still annoying.
“It’s been ten years,” Anakin points out. His presence in the Force has turned rather…shy, akin to a blush as he reaches out and takes the caf from the counter, curling both hands around the cup. “And we never met.” “No,” Obi-Wan agrees. “But we should have. We would have shared the same master, if the Force were kinder.”
And they really should have—Obi-Wan had been Knighted at the age of twenty-three. Two years later, his old master went on a mission with his old master to Naboo. When they’d ended up on Tatooine instead, Qui-Gon Jinn had found a stray he’d wanted to adopt, a little boy from the desert. And when he’d been murdered only a few days later, Yan Dooku had stepped in and taken the boy as his padawan.
Up until he left the Order four years ago.
“Yeah, well,” Anakin mutters, shoulders falling down and in slightly. “It is what it is.”
The rumors are impossible to escape, and Obi-Wan admits that they’re…intriguing. That Dooku didn’t just leave the Order four years ago, but that he Fell. That he succumbed to the Dark Side after years of fighting against it. That studying the Dark had become a fevered pastime of his in the last few months before he Fell. Before he left.
Before he left his padawan behind.
“Lilac suits you,” Obi-Wan blurts out, wholly without meaning to. The boy had just looked so despondent for a moment, so pinned and small.
He has not had an easy lot of it, one master dead at the hands of a Sith after only a few days in his company and the other giving him up after several years to become one.
No wonder he’d been so suspicious of Obi-Wan’s research. The poor boy probably sees the potential for Sith in everyone’s shadows. Obi-Wan knows he would, if it were his master who Fell.
“Um,” Anakin says, and his cheeks flame red. Obi-Wan’s own darken in response. “Thank you.” He darts his eyes from Obi-Wan’s face and then back, as if he doesn’t want to look away for long. “Master Nu took me on after my master—left. She says I could become an Archival Knight within a few years.”
“I’m glad to hear it, Anakin,” Obi-Wan says, and he finds that he means it. Despite the boy’s terrible customer service. “And speaking of the Archives, padawan, I thought you might like to see this.”
He unfolds the piece of flimsi with a flourish and places it down on the counter between them. Anakin glances down at it and then back up, as if checking to make sure Obi-Wan would like him to read it.
Obi-Wan gives him an encouraging nod. Padawan Skywalker seems like the sort of padawan to thrive under encouragement.
“Please reinstate Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Archival account access, as I as Grandmaster of the Jedi Order have given him leave to research a topic of great importance to me: the nature and nurture of Dark side use on Jedha, coordinates….” Anakin trails off, and then looks up at Obi-Wan again, eyebrows furrowed. “Yoda doesn’t talk like this, everyone knows that. Put more effort in your counterfeiting, you should have, Knight Kenobi.”
“Grandmaster Yoda did not write that,” Obi-Wan corrects. “I did. However, he did sign it,” he gestures to the edge of the flimsi.
But Anakin does not look impressed. He also does not look like a boy who is about to give Obi-Wan access to his accounts. “How do I know you didn’t just forge his signature?” “Because that’s the imprint of his hand,” Obi-Wan says incredulously. “And I do not have claws.”
“It looks like a pigeon’s foot,” Anakin studies the flimsi for another second before pushing it away. “I’m sorry, I can’t accept this. It’s obviously a fake.”
Obi-Wan had watched Yoda dip his claws into the ink for the signature himself. His irritation comes rushing back in a tidal wave of rage. “What.” Padawan Skywalker shrugs and sips his caf. “Sorry, Knight Kenobi. Thank you for the caf though.”
There’s a fucking smirk at the corner of his mouth. His eyes are fucking twinkling.
Obi-Wan has never wanted to strangle someone more. “You don’t deserve that caf,” he tells him lowly, grabbing up the flimsi and crinkling it in his fist.
“Oh?” Padawan Skywalker says. “Was it a bribe? I thought it was an apology for being a dick yesterday.”
It was both actually.
“Padawan Skywalker,” Obi-Wan says, closing his eyes and exhaling through his nose, reaching for calm. “I need access to those texts on the Dark side for important research.” “Knight Kenobi,” Anakin says in the same tone. “I cannot give you access to those texts while your account is under investigation for suspicious activity. However there are other titles you may find useful that you can access while you wait for the Archival staff to conclude their investigation, and I would be happy to point you towards them, should you like.” Obi-Wan’s teeth ache from clenching his jaw so tightly. “Fine,” he snaps. “What do you have?” “Methods for Mindful Meditation by Master Muinollie comes to mind,” Anakin blinks up at him with a beatific smile. “It’s currently on loan to the crechèmaster, but I can put you on the waitlist. Think of it like an exercise in patience.”
Obi-Wan lets out an audible growl and turns away before he can do something stupid like throttle his grandmaster’s old padawan.
It's almost as tempting as the boy looks when he smiles.

multiple boom emojis = i can send mulitple asks, right? 😁
📕
i have literally never said no to another ask so. yknow. yeah absolutely.
Okay for this one i've got this AU that's been bouncing around in my head since i went through a brief yet intense korkie obsession a few days ago.
I call this the Korkie And Ahsoka's List Of Lies AU.
basically: after Satine's death, Korkie steps up to lead a faction of New Mandalorians who basically decide WE'RE GONNA HAVE PEACE, DANGIT!! It seemed like a great idea... except... Korkie is seventeen and has no idea how to run a nonlethal-but-not-exactly-pacifistic-either revolution.
And then he thinks... hey... wasn't Ahsoka just kicked out of the Jedi order? Maybe she'd want a job as his advisor...
So some of his friends go to coruscant and find Ahsoka and basically recruit her. She goes to Mandalore and cheerfully reunites with her old friend, and they get down to business to defeat the death watch.
Ahsoka, who doesn't have lightsabers, starts training with a pair of beskar blades. it's a difficult transition because beskar weighs a lot but lightsaber blades weigh nothing. Eventually she figures it out and she gets really good at it and several Mandalorians get crushes on her because She's So Cool!!!!
Korkie also finds her some armor. she looks even more fabulous now. more mandalorians get crushes on her.
The New New Mandalorians move to take back Mandalore. Ahsoka duels Maul with her beskar swords and wins and even more mandalorians get crushes on her. she's officially a celebrity heartthrob at this point.
She plans to leave afterwards, but Korkie asks her if... maybe... she could stay?
Ahsoka agrees.
Now, here's the thing.
Korkie is technically a clan leader now. Ahsoka owns the darksaber by right of combat. they decide it would work best if they co-ran Mandalore.
They make this announcement standing side-by-side, and the picture of it makes the news.
On Coruscant, Anakin happens to glance at the cover of some Mando'a gossip magazine and sees the photo.
Anakin cannot read Mando'a.
Anakin does not know what the headline says.
Anakin assumes they got married.
Now, Anakin has been having bad dreams lately. He's very worried about Padme, and their unborn children. But he's also too distracted by thinking ahsoka??? snips??? My Padawan??? got married??? do i send her a card??? do i call to tell her congratulations??? to pay attention to palpatine's tale of Plagueis the Wise. He completely spaces it out.
Anyway, padme ends up giving birth just fine, and Anakin is so relieved but also really worried about telling Obi-Wan (who ALREADY KNOWS) and so anakin decides he's just. he's gonna pay a visit to ahsoka on mandalore.
so he goes and meets Ahsoka and congratulates her on her marriage... in front of a bunch of people.
suddenly rumors are FLYING that the co-mand'alors got married in secret somehow. Korkie and Ahsoka quickly consult each other on what to do and they prepare a whole speech announcement about the misunderstanding when suddenly an aide runs up and tells them that apparently, mandalorians love a love story, because they're seeing a huge spike in popularity! even with other factions of Mandalorians!
Korkie and Ahsoka share a look.
"Are we thinking the same thing?"
"We're thinking the same thing."
Korkie and Ahsoka stay up all night rewriting their announcement and practicing their "sappy happy in love" faces (and getting the giggles because of it.) They get korkie's friends--Lagos, Soinee, and Amis--to help them out. none of his friends are actually helpful and they all give conflicting advice.
The announcement goes well (barely. ahsoka almost got the giggles again.) and the mandalorian people are suitably convinced of the love story.
Given Ahsoka's popularity, the Mandalorians become interested in her family as well, and a few notice a slight resemblance between Korkie and Obi-Wan, but there's no big deal until someone unearths that Obi-Wan and the Duchess were in love once.
The rumor mill explodes.
Mandalorians don't really have a problem with the idea that obi-wan's grandpadawan may have married his secret son; given that korkie and ahsoka are separated by two "adoptions" (padawanships) and weren't raised as family or anything. In fact, they find the connection between the two of them to be kind of romantic. like, star crossed lovers were kept apart yet the next generations found a way back together... anyway, it's yet another popularity boost.
but here's the thing.
Korkie isn't a Kenobi.
Korkie knows he's not a Kenobi.
Korkie could even prove he's not a Kenobi.
But... why ruin the dramatic romantic tale that the people of Mandalore have invented?
So Korkie Is A Kenobi gets added to the list of Things We're Pretending Are True (aka the List Of Lies in the title), alongside Korkie And Ahsoka Are Married and Korkie And Ahsoka Are Responsible Adults.
Which they aren't. at all.
In fact, they're a pair of almost-eighteen-year-olds (is that pretty young to be getting married? yeah, definitely, but wookiepedia says that mandalorians married as young as 16 so we're gonna assume it's not considered too young on Mandalore) who have realized that for the first time in their lives, they don't have adults telling them what to do, and while they do have to responsibly rule mandalore, that doesn't mean they can't be wildly immature in their free time.
They have water gun fights inside the palace. They text each other dumb dad jokes during long, boring meetings. They jump on the beds. They have really unhealthy sugar-filled cereal for breakfast. They dress up in cheesy superhero costumes and sneak out at night to do heroic vigilante work. Soinee helps them set up a secret Space Tumblr account called korkie-kenobi-truther and they post korkie kenobi memes.
All is well...
Except for the fact that Palpatine is still alive and nobody knows he's the Sith lord.
That is gonna be an issue.
...to be continued, because this got really really long oh my goodness i totally got carried away i'm sorry about that-

I just finished padawan by kiersten white and had a blast with it -- it was exactly the kind of thing my brain craved this week, just some nice character study and adventure story stuff for my brain to chill in. thoughts:
a) I love obi-wan and his poor anxiety-ridden teenage self so so much. peak a delight to have in class to the point of nervous break representation, someone help him. local boy manages to become parentified child to an absent father somehow. that part where he's so afraid he's so bad and useless that the force itself might just decide it doesn't want him after all........ heartbreaking. that's exactly what I would have thought at sixteen too probably. (also my personal headcanon has always been that obi-wan is on the ace spectrum, so that was a very nice thing to find supported in this book! canon is vast and can support any number of stances that way honestly everyone should go hog wild with it in whatever manner they please, but that's always been my vibe)
b) qui-gon fucking jinn if you don't step up and do something to help the child in your charge with his ACTUAL DEBILITATING ANXIETY DISORDER RUNNING HIM RAGGED other than ask him to meditate so help me I will come over there and do maul's work for him ahead of time I swear to fucking god
c) no, really, it says some not very good things about qui-gon's mentorship abilities that obi-wan really only manages to grow and be calmer when he's outside of his influence. I know this book means you to come away with the feeling that obi-wan takes a big step towards enlightenment and adulthood on this trip (and I do think that's also true to be clear!), but there is a part of me that also thinks that just as much as personal and spiritual development what we're seeing here is an avoidant attachment style definitively entrenching itself as a result of having no adult that can be consistently trusted to meet him emotionally. (which also makes a horrible kind of sense, thinking about what obi-wan and anakin's relationship is going to be like in the future -- obi-wan is avoidant and self-contained when it comes to trying to deal with his emotions, and anakin skews far more anxious and towards lashing out, and they never quite understand each other for all the love that is there. you can trace that all the way back here. sins of the master, huh.) obi-wan finds some agency and catharsis in being able to help a group of abandoned children, you say. hm. I'm sure this means nothing and has no parallels in his own inner world. you let the kid think you'd completely abandoned him instead of communicating with him openly for like five minutes. For His Own Good of course. Wow I didn't realize I was this angry about this but here I am once again livid on obi-wan's behalf, actually. 'I'm an incredible teacher and this lack of honest emotional communication I'm fostering in favour of (benign!) manipulation is never going to come back and bite the jedi order in the ass, surely'; the qui-gon jinn story

Scales, Claws, And Other Signs Of Fatherhood
Tumblr media Tumblr media
a little while back, i said that i'd like to write a crossover between my SW Dragon Batch AU and Canon, so this is a little test for that! If you like this, and would like to see more, please let me know! I'd love an excuse to write baby 'mega again.
The last soft, orange-tinted rays of dying light were just beginning to dip behind Corruscant's horizon as the members of Clone Force 99 sauntered out of their beloved ship, the Havoc Marauder. The enhanced clones had been invited out to 79's by one of their reg brothers, Commander Cody, a rare treat and one that they were eager to take their ori'vod up on. Tech, especially, was thrilled that he was going to have the opportunity to meet General Anakin Skywalker face to face. According to Cody, the 212th's general had heard about their exploits, and had mentioned them to his former Padawan. Apparently, the man had been very impressed, and had specifically asked to go be introduced the next time they were both planetside.
As they exited the ship hanger, the batch was greeted by the familiar faces of their brothers, Rex and Cody, as well as someone they'd only seen on holos or from a distance.
"General Skywalker," Hunter greeted, extending a hand, "It's nice to finally meet you."
"You must be Hunter. It's nice to meet you too." the Jedi replied with a smile, "Please, just call me Anakin. We're all equals here!"
The two men shook hands, and something in the air shifted.
A full-body shiver wracked Anakin's body, and his face scrunched in confusion as the Force surged with some unknown feeling. Even the clones, who were not in tune with the Force, felt a prickle of unnatural energy rush through them, the hairs on the back of their necks standing on end.
"General, what's-!" Rex started, but was cut off by a blinding explosion of light. The air crackled with energy, and all of the men flinched as their ears popped unexpectedly, their bodies becoming overwhelmed by a feeling of pins and needles that infected every muscle, leaving them unable to hold themselves upright.
Then, as quickly as it had come, the feeling dissipated.
Hunter managed to right himself first, groaning as he pushed himself up onto his knees. To his left, he heard something shift, a new heartbeat joining the six he already heard, not counting his own. It was slower than their racing pulses, yet it was slowly getting faster, like someone rousing from a deep sleep. Forcing his eyes open, the clone Sergeant turned his head.
Tech lay on the ground before him, his signature goggles missing from his face. He was dressed in a casual black shirt and dark gray pants, and he had a small, cream-coloured blanket strewn across his shoulder.
Hunter blinked, shook his head slightly, then glanced over his shoulder at the spot where his brother should be.
Tech was stirring from his place on the ground, still clad in his armor with his goggles firmly in place over his eyes.
"Ooough... I think I hit my head. 'm seein' double" Wrecker croaked, running a hand across his face. Hunter stiffened at the realisation that it was not just him that could see the Other Tech. General Skywalker, Cody and Rex were also up now, all three staring at the newcomer with saucer-wide eyes.
"You're not the only one." Crosshair hissed, reaching for his spare blaster.
The Other Tech shifted again, his nose wrinkling in irritation. It was an expression Hunter knew exceedingly well, having seen it time and time again on his batchmate's face.
"Wrecker, Crosshair, if you two wake Omega, I'll skin you both." the Other Tech grumbled sleepily, no real malice to his tired voice.
The sniper and demolition expert gave each other wide-eyed stares, before looking to their leader for some kind of advice or plan. Hunter, for his part, gave them an equally confused face.
"Tech?" he tried carefully.
"Yes?" twin voices replied to his gruff voice, something that caused both clones to become alert at last.
Tech and Other Tech nearly mirrored each other in the way they sat up, eyes wide and filled with equal parts curiosity and caution. Their heads tilted in sync.
"Fascinating." they spoke in perfect harmony, something that made both of them start in surprise.
Other Tech broke the parroting first, squinting at his counterpart first, before letting his gaze flick to the rest of the group, his mouth setting in a tight line. "Hmm, I don't suppose I'm lucky enough that this is all some kind of elaborate dream or hallucination?"
"Uh, no?" Anakin managed out, still recovering from the effect of feeling reality rip itself apart and stitch itself back together all around him.
Other Tech sighed. "I thought not. You're all too young for that to make much sense."
Once those words had been spoken, Hunter realised that Other Tech did look older than his vod'ika. He had the beginnings of a few laugh lines, and there was a look in his eye that spoke of wisdom his counterpart had yet to gain. Questions swirled in his mind, but one stood out among all the rest.
"Who's Omega?"
Other Tech stared at him for a moment, before shaking himself.
"Ah, yes, I had almost forgotten that there had been a time before we had a daughter. I suppose you wouldn't recognise her-"
Hunter's brain had nearly short-circuited at the word daughter, but he quickly pulled himself together as he watched his older-younger brother's face go from sleepy and fond to panic-stricken as he touched the blanket on his shoulder. Instantly, Other Tech was on his feet, whirling around as he searched for something, or, rather, someone that he clearly believed should be there.
"Oh Gods, not again." his voice cracked dangerously, his breath hitching in panic.
Hunter forced his legs to work, his elder batchmate instincts kicking in. He knew the signs that Tech was about to have a panic attack, and it seemed as though time had not changed them. Around him, his vode pulled themselves out of their shock and stood as well, not knowing exactly what they should do in this situation. Tech, especially, seemed lost, mouthing the word 'daughter' to himself in disbelief.
"Hey, vod, breathe. It's okay, we're okay, and you're okay." Hunter soothed, "I'm going to put my hand on your shoulder, is that okay?"
Instead of the jerky nod or head shake he was used to, Other Tech whipped around and snarled at him, his teeth fang-like and wicked sharp as he bared them. His pupils had narrowed into slits, and Hunter could see glittering grey scales beginning to dot his brother's face.
"It is not okay!" he snapped, and Hunter stumbled back a few steps as a pair of wings suddenly formed on the other clone's back, leathery and tipped with ivory claws.
There was real anger in Other Tech's voice, but what Hunter really heard was fear, raw and almost palpable. The sudden turn that this already bizarre situation had taken made Hunter feel afraid too, not that he'd ever admit it.
It must have shown on his face, however, because Other Tech stepped back, his pupils rounding out again as he drew his wings in close to his body.
"I- I apologise. You have no way of understanding the situation I have just come from, but that does not give me the right to bare my teeth at you." he said, sounding genuinely sorry.
"WHAT THE KRIFF ARE THOSE?!" Wrecker shouted, having put himself between Crosshair and Tech, who were, like everyone else, staring at the two new appendages that had just sprouted from the other man's back.
Other Tech blinked at the question, before slowly extending a wing towards the group, one eyebrow raised. "My... wing? Wrecker, are you feeling alright?"
"Why do you have wings?" Cody barked, causing the other to shrink back at his 'I'm so done with this banthashit' tone of voice.
"Why do I- is that meant to be some kind of joke? I'm afraid I'm not the best with humour." Other Tech frowned. "We all have wings, I am not the exception here."
Hunter swallowed hard, stepping towards this strange, otherworldly version of his little brother. "Actually, vod, you are."
Other Tech stared at him, eyes wide.
"You- you're just human? All of you?!"
"Yes?" Hunter replied, becoming more and more convinced he was the one hallucinating by the second.
"What else would we be?" Anakin asked.
Other Tech looked at everyone, eyes searching for some kind of lie, some hint that they were all joking. When he found one, he exhaled hard, pinching the space between his eyes before speaking.
"Dragon shifters. Where I'm from, we're all dragon shifters."

Excerpt:
You came back.
The Jedi smiled "Welcome, Din." And he was staring at his visor with sincere eyes, full of love. He closed them leaning forward and Din met him halfway, eliciting a sigh from him when the cold beskar touched the skin of his forehead, feeling Din's strong hand caressing his waist, his hand finding Din's elbow, holding him there, welcoming him in every single way. He opened his eyes softly, smiling, glistening, pulling back a little to gaze at Din feeling his heartbeat thumping in his ears as the water drizzled onto the rocks behind them and Grogu chirped between them caressing their boots.
Chapter 3: Your destiny may keep you warm
For a couple of months Din kept returning to them after spending some time with his tribe, it felt like the old good days, when Luke was receiving him at the Hoth base, longing for his lover's affection, except this time Din wasn't his lover but his good friend. The hours they spent talking about their feelings and thoughts, slowly opening themselves up to each other, made him feel at home somehow.
One day Luke woke up in the middle of the night, sitting up onto the mattress, panting and sweating profusely, he squeezed his eyes shut running his hands through his face as the thumping beat of his heart overwhelmed him. It happened again, and again, until he started to feel anxious before going to bed every night, and every time, he couldn't remember if it was a bad dream that disturbed his sleep, but he knew something was wrong and even when he couldn't decipher what was it, he was certain that it had to be the force, trying to show him something.
"You look like you're parsecs away, Luke." Din said resting against a tree, tilting his helmet, his visor on Luke.
Luke met his visor and blinked "It's nothing, I just-" He frowned staring down, wetting his lips with his tongue "I could feel that something is off." He swallowed tightly looking at his Padawan, the kid was playing with some rocks before him "I don't know if this is about him, or-" His voice trailed off.
"Or?" Din leaned forward and started walking towards him.
When the mandalorian was right beside him, Luke looked up at his visor "Or about you." He said quietly "The worst part is that it isn't clear, it's not a vision, not even a thought, it's just an unfathomable feeling, a continuous pressure in my chest." He shook his head slowly, deep in thought.
He parted his lips and drew in a long breath the moment he felt Din's gloved hand on his shoulder "Are you worry about us?"
"Yes."
Silence. They stared at Grogu for a while, Luke smiled fondly watching the little child playing peacefully on the grass, Din's voice bringing him out of his mind "I was thinking about him." Luke looked at the mandalorian. "You said that he could live for hundreds of years, I'm-" He tilted his helmet "What is going to happen when we're not longer here?" Luke's heart wrenched, he knew exactly what Din was feeling at that moment, he pursed his lips and frowned, it wasn't like he hasn't thought about it himself.
The Jedi sighed "I know what you mean. He's going to be a child for a while." He nodded searching for Din's eyes behind the vision "He needs community, a family."
The mandalorian remained silent, therefore Luke needed to cut to the chase.
"You're planning on taking him to your tribe, aren't you?" He asked quietly, noticing the way Din slightly flinched.
"What?"
"Are you thinking about taking him to Nevarro?" Luke added crossing his arms over his chest. Din lowered his gaze and then he looked at his face again.
"He's with you now."
Din sounded so soft by saying it that it warmed up Luke's heart. He shook his head slowly, staring down and half smiling "Din, I can't give him community." He looked at Din's visor "I'm alone." He added as his lips curled up slightly in a fake smile that didn't light up his blue eyes. A feeling of numbness invading him. There, with those words he was telling Din that he regretted not being able to find a way to share his new life with him in the past, regretting he didn't even give it a try.
To Luke's surprise Din seemed to understand him in a way that only Leia and Han could, the man in beskar, the man he loved, closed the space between them and took Luke's breath away by saying "You don't have to." Din's voice soothed Luke, he stared at his visor frowning, his heart leaping and his mind running wild. Was Din saying what he thought he was saying? "You were important to me, Luke. You are important to me."
"Din." Luke managed to say as Din's hand found his. He looked down as they intertwined their fingers.
"Look at me, Luke." The Jedi obliged. "I'm here. And I think you know what I mean."
Luke could tell by the way Din's breath was hitching that he was growing uneasy and, presumably, pulling out all the stops to make Luke understand what he meant to him. Din squeezed his hand and sighed quietly, and Luke knew that he needed to show him how much he knew what Din meant.
He fluttered his eyelashes until he finally closed his eyes as he leaned forward, slowly, softly, resting his forehead against Din's helmet and a much-missed warmth traveled through his whole body, making his heart flutter while Din wrapped his arms around his middle. He drew his hands up, desperately, grabbing the back of Din's helmet, pressing his chest against Din's, he could feel the mandalorian's heartbeat quickening through the thickness of his beskar and he chuckled almost letting a tear roll down his cheek.
"Luke?" Din said under his breath as he pressed his fingers against the blonde's small back, adding more pressure between their bodies. "F-Fuck-" He stuttered rubbing his helmet against the Jedi's forehead "Fuck, Luke, I'm here." He said again, this time his voice broke a little.
Luke nodded against him and sighed opening his now twinkling eyes "I know." He finally said stroking Din's helmet, hands roaming the beskar until he reached Din's neck, the tip of his fingers finding the soft skin beneath the fabric. He stopped when Din groaned, digging his fingers into his waist "The kid, Din." It took everything in him to say those words, but he wouldn't go any further knowing that his young Padawan was playing sitting on the grass a couple of feet away from them. Din nodded still holding him tight and then he looked at the child, still absorbed in his rocks and giggling at the distance ignoring whatever was going on between his mandalorian friend and his Jedi Master.
Luke stroked Din's arms around his waist and his hands tickled while he was looking dumbfounded at his silver helmet, his eyes traveling down dwelling on his neck and shoulders, longing for drape his arms around them "You're leaving tonight." He said pulling back a little, instead.
Din's visor shifted from Grogu to Luke's face, he nodded "Tonight." He said withdrawing his arms from the blonde and pulling away letting go of him completely. He looked at Luke for a while, in silence, Luke held his gaze without even blinking until Din walked away and towards the child.
Luke stood there, rooted to the spot, his mind swirling around Din's words "You don't have to." , "I'm here. And I think you know what I mean." and he was trying to embrace his feelings, to welcome the way Din's body against his own set his skin aflame.
He walked in the Temple's direction, clenching his hands into fists as intrusive thoughts started filling his mind, making him feel insecure, the internal conflict torturing him in that familiar way again, something that he believed he has had left behind him. Wrong.
There, within the confines of his Jedi Temple he finally realized that this duality, this struggle between his mind and heart, has cost him his own identity. He sat down on the floor in the meditation room peeling off his heavy robes, staying in his undershirt. He crossed his legs and leaned his forearms on his knees, sighing and staring at the ceiling.
Who are you?
He asked himself, frowning and running his forefinger on the floor doodling absentmindedly while thinking about the person he once was, the boy from Tatooine, the rebel pilot, the guy in love with a mandalorian.
And then, that unsettling feeling creeping on his soul again. He tried to compose himself, he eased his mind, closing his eyes and he was trying to reach out using the force, certain that this time he would get answers.
"Son." He heard a soothing voice making him open his eyes slowly until he could see the blueish image of his late father and his heart skipped a beat.
"Father." He said astounded widening his eyes "Father, I can't believe you're here." He added staring at the vision of his father's former self.
Anakin Skywalker smiled slightly, standing before his son "Seemed like you needed a little help."
It was uncommon for Luke to see the ghostly manifestation of his father, therefore he was grateful but worried at the same time.
"Why now, father? I've been struggling for so long and you haven't shown yourself until now." He rested his hands on his knees.
"Because this time you won't be able to work things out all by yourself." Anakin tilted his head, his eyes looked full of kindness, the same way Luke remembered them.
"Is this because I can't understand what the force has been trying to show me these last days?" Luke inquired.
The force ghost hummed "You will see it when the moment is right." He folded his hands in front of his body, his robes dancing eerily around him "Until then, you should be patient."
"Patient." Luke sighed lowering his gaze.
"I know you think it's about that mandalorian." Anakin said and Luke flinched a little looking up at his eyes again.
"He's going to Mandalore with his people." Luke explained frowning "He said they are going to retake their home world. He's leaving tonight."
"I know, and I know what you are thinking." Luke bit his lower lip listening to his father "You are not going with him, Luke."
His father's words made him feel stripped and utterly vulnerable, he ducked his head trying to hide his shame.
"Oh no, Luke, you can't fool me, I'm aware of the feelings you developed towards this man."
"Father, please." He said under his breath staring at the floor, as a scarlet shade was spreading from his neck to his cheeks.
"I had made a terrible mistake, son, and I paid for it, and even worse, I hurt a lot of people along the way. It doesn't mean it would happen to you as well." Anakin's voice sounded soft and soothing, still Luke was feeling anxious as he started rubbing his hands against his thighs.
"I'm confused, father. I know how I feel about him, but I don't know if I should-" He trailed off.
"You will know, you will get there." Anakin stared at his face trying to catch his eyes "Tell me now, when you are trying to know about your future through the force, what do you see?"
The blonde Jedi shifted a little on the floor, he blinked and then he narrowed his eyes "Shining stars above me and I am at peace, and I know in my heart that as the stars are shining nothing would hurt me, and I feel warmth, and I feel at home." Luke frowned, saying it out loud for the very first time left him perplexed, although it made him feel powerful and his heart was thumping with excitement, brimming with love and hope.
"You're not me." Anakin replied nodding as a gentle smile appeared on his face.
"What?" Luke snapped his head up.
"I know Ahsoka told you about my fall and the reasons behind it. And I also know you think that the love you feel about Din Djarin would eventually lead you to fear and anger." He made a pause "Every time I tried to see what my future would hold for me, I only found darkness and regret. You're not me, son. And this is why you will let him leave tonight all by himself, and you won't interfere in the internal affairs of Mandalore, they need to do this by themselves." Anakin stated holding Luke's gaze "This is why you are here now and not out there with him, this is you trying to accept that you can't interfere, and I think that you know I'm right."
Luke covered his eyes with his gloved hand, sighing deeply, feeling the way his throat tightened and his heart was pounding against his ribs. He drew in a deep inhale and rubbed his face with his hand, he held his breath when he saw Din standing by the entrance.
"Din?" He asked looking around trying to find Anakin's force ghost but he was already gone "I'm sorry, I was meditating. What time is it?" He asked trying to reach his robes next to him on the floor, but the mandalorian was already sitting down beside him. The blonde stopped in his tracks staring at his helmet.
"I hope you don't mind, I already fed Grogu and he's sleeping now." Din nodded at him.
"Oh." Luke frowned "I lost track of time." He pressed his lips together.
"I came to say goodbye." Din said putting his hand atop Luke's making him sigh, Luke interlocked their fingers thinking of the possibility of never seeing him again and his heart broke into pieces.
"Please be safe." The Jedi said boring into his visor.
"As always."
"No, I mean it." He retorted bringing Din's hand to his face, Din understood the unspoken plea and started brushing his fingers against his cheek, gently, softly. Luke's lips curled up into a smile "I want to give you something. It might help you." Luke said slipping the fingers of his free hand between his boot and leg, Din tilted his helmet down, his visor fixed on Luke's hand until the Jedi pulled a vibro-knife out of his boot.
When Luke put the knife in Din's hand the mandalorian curled his fingers around it "Luke, this is-" He looked up finding Luke's eyes "The vibro-knife I gave you."
The Jedi nodded and his smile reached his blue eyes "It's very important to me, so I want it back." He held up his forefinger at Din "Bring it back to me, Din." His eyes traveling down to the floor where Din was leaning his hand to support himself while pressing his helmet against Luke's forehead.
"I'll bring it back to you, cyare." He promised and Luke closed his eyes reveling in the moment and in the way his heart melted at Din's term of endearment.
Yes, love, I'll be here waiting for you.
~
He was resting his hands on the table, the dim light casting shadows on the wall, his eyes were fixed on the little child next to him, the kid was eating his stew with his little hand wrapped around a big spoon, he was twitching his big ears, making little happy noises and Luke found himself chuckling and caressing Grogu's head, then he blinked realizing that the time he spent with the kid was filling his heart with some pleasant feeling, he withdrew his hand staring down, understanding that things weren't happening the way they supposed to, he grimaced thinking that Grogu was more than a Padawan to him, and he froze terrified, he was caring about this child in a way a Jedi Master shouldn't, he was caring about Grogu as a son, and he felt confused. This was getting a bit out of hand.
All of a sudden he pressed his hands against the table, digging his fingers into the wood as Grogu whined letting the spoon slip from his hand. Luke gasped as the unsettling feeling reached him through the force. He squinted looking at the wall and it was as clear as daylight, he felt a sharp pain in his chest, he twitched his fingers finally closing his hands into fists. A disturbance in the force.
He looked at Grogu sideways, the child was staring at him with a worried look on his little face "You felt that too, didn't you Grogu?" The child nodded babbling.
Later that night he was sitting on his bed, with his head hanging down, holding his hands, finally he understood what was the force trying to tell him and he knew right away that he didn't think things straight the moment he took the child in, what was he supposed to do now? He didn't have a backup plan, if he needed to go through the galaxy to find the source of the disruption in the force he also needed to leave the child in the Temple, but, as he told Din, he was alone. No. Leaving the Temple wasn't an option, he sighed lying on the mattress thinking that he would wait for Din to come back and then he would be on his way. And if Din never came back, he considered that and shook his head as his heart clenched painfully in his chest at the mere thought, then Leia was his only option.
~
Grogu and Luke were wandering in the forest, three days had passed since both of them felt that switch in the force, although they never felt it again and Luke started to wonder if the source was already extinct. They came to a halt in front of a creek crowned by a curtain of water surging and plunging down the mountain, like a source of infinite life, Luke breathed in closing his eyes, the sound of water flowing and the humidity curling the end of his hair soothing him, the child amusingly strolling by the shore warming his heart, he chuckled and then he frowned when he felt a well-known presence through the force, he spun on his heels only to find the mandalorian walking towards them and his heart gave an extra beat.
He crossed his arms over his chest, staring down and kicking a little rock letting Grogu run to Din, his eyes on them as his lips curled up into a soft smile. When the mandalorian let go of the child, he closed the distance between him and Luke.
He came to a halt in front of him, tilting his helmet "Hi, Luke." He said sending shivers down Luke's spine.
~
"I brought you this." Din said handing him the vibro-knife and leaning an arm on the wall above Luke's head, encasing him, almost pressing his body against Luke, the Jedi realized that he was refraining from actually touching him, but the mandalorian's body language was betraying him. He seized the vibro-knife staring at Din's visor.
"I'm glad you're back." He said under his breath and Din hummed. Luke frowned staring at his utility belt, he slid his hand over it and he tried to ignore the low rumble coming from Din's chest "Din, where's your saber?" He frowned staring at his visor, Din took a few steps back.
"It's gone."
"What?"
Din sat at the table and the Jedi followed him suit, the mandalorian breathed in "Luke, that saber means nothing to me or my people, it's a symbol of destruction and segregation, it didn't unify the mandalorians in the past." He looked down "We fought together this time, different tribes, different houses, and we're trying to understand what's the meaning of being a mandalorian. Together."
Luke was attentively listening to him, absentmindedly curling his hand around Din's over the table.
"We fought together and we retook Mandalore, and we decided that we didn't need a reminder of our bloody past. We destroyed it." Luke was holding his breath. "It's time to write a new history, it's time to leave the old ways behind us, those ways fractured us as a community, it didn't work in the past so why we should keep on trying to follow a rule that only brought pain and death upon us?" He asked tilting his helmet and Luke's heart was pounding in his chest.
Din was right. He frowned avoiding his visor, he could feel Din's words hitting in all the right places, his mind swirling around what he father told him, "You will know, you will get there."
And he knew right there and then that he wouldn't run away from his feelings anymore, that he could walk a new path as well, he felt an irrepressible urge to show Din how he felt about him, he opened his mouth to say something when the mandalorian talked first.
"We need to talk, Luke." He said staring at the Jedi and he sounded serious.
He told him about an imperial base beneath the mines of Mandalore, how they fought against troopers that carried beskar armours and Luke's blood was boiling inside his veins, his heart skipped a beat when Din explained how Paz, Bo-Katan and him barely walked out in one piece of an encounter with three men in red armours wielding weapons he has never even heard about before. Luke widened his eyes when he heard that they destroyed the base and managed to kill a dozen of clones of Moff Gideon.
"So that was it." The Jedi muttered "I felt them through the force, Grogu too." He stared into Din's visor "They are creating force-sensitive clones, we felt them before they were killed."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, I'm positive." Luke said standing up, Din tilted his helmet up to stare at him "They're back, I won't let them." He said clenching his jaw "Din, go back to your home world and take Grogu with you." Din rose to his feet towering over him.
"I'm not planning on going back." The mandalorian said making Luke frown "I left Mandalore, I won't go back, I want to hunt imperial remnants down. I was thinking-" He looked around "Maybe you can talk to Leia, you can count on me."
Realization hit Luke "You want to work for The New Republic?" Din nodded.
"And with you." He added and Luke could notice the way his voice trembled a little.
Luke considered it for a moment, and a lopsided smile crossed his face "Like the old times, huh? Leia hiring you." He chuckled, Din folded his arms defensively. Is this really happening? Luke thought staring at him for a while "Alright, Din, we're going to Chandrila." He walked away glaring at Din over his shoulder, the mandalorian was staring at him, frozen. "Now."
~
"Fuck, Luke!" Leia ran her hand through her long hair closing her eyes "Shit!" She slammed her hand on the table, then she bored into his brother's eyes "I knew it, this is not over, huh? It was never over."
"Just, please, I know it's hard to swallow, but I'm here, I'm gonna do this, I'm gonna find them. We are gonna find them." Luke held her hand in an attempt to reassure her.
"Anything you need, you got it. You hear me? I'll see to it." She nodded and rested her chin on her palm "So, you're together, huh?"
Luke shifted in his chair "I wouldn't say together." He retorted, although it felt like that in so many ways.
"But you're in love with him." She added leaning forward. Luke's mouth set in a hard line. "What about your academy?"
"I don't know." He shrugged one arm "We're taking the child with us. The lines are blurred, Leia, I can't pretend that Grogu is just my Padawan, I took care of that baby for months. I'm still training him though, but as-" He blinked.
"As your son?" She arched one eyebrow.
"You think I'm crazy?" Luke snapped back. He was being honest with her, wearing his heart on his sleeve and his heart was pounding fast.
Leia shook her head still staring at him "Of course not, I'm happy that you're opening your mind and not living like some exiled Jedi." She smiled fondly reaching out to take his hand in hers "You don't deserve that kind of life, brother. You can make this work. I know it." She added squeezing his hand and joy and relief welled up inside Luke.
~
Leia arranged and apartment for the three of them, Grogu was already sleeping in his little bed in the small room when Din walked into the kitchen, Luke was resting his backside against the countertop, he was holding a cup of caf between his hands, his eyes curious, following every move Din made. The mandalorian walked towards him until he came to a halt in front of him, he grabbed the cup from Luke's hands and put it down on the countertop behind him, instinctively Luke drew his hand up, curling it around Din's biceps, he sighed "There's only one bed, Din."
Din snorted out a laugh, pressing his body against Luke's, eliciting a groan from the Jedi.
"I'm sleeping on the couch then." The mandalorian teased, running his hands down Luke's waist and hips.
"Din." He leaned forward pressing his face against Din's neck "Take me to our bed, Din." He said caressing his chest plate and he couldn't believe that this was really happening, that he was being true to himself for the first time since he pushed Din out of his life on Dagobah and he finally let emotions flow through him.
Din pulled away staring down at him in silence, and Luke's skin prickled with want, the mandalorian grabbed his hand taking a few steps back, guiding him to the main room.
When they were finally inside the room, Luke leaned in closer to Din pressing his hand on his helmet right where his cheek would be and planted a soft kiss on his visor.
"Luke." Din said in a low-pitched voice and wrapped his arms around the blonde's torso. He gently pushed Luke against the mattress and rubbed his stomach with his gloved hand, pressing his helmet against the Jedi's cheek, instantaneously tying knots in Luke's belly .
His entire body was aflame with his touch and he closed his eyes relishing in the way Din's body pressed against his own had tension rapidly coiling hotter and tighter in his gut.
"Din." He said as his hands roamed over the man's back "Wait." Luke hated himself for spoiling the mood but there was something that he needed to say if he wanted to give them a chance. Din growled as his hand stopped right around Luke's thigh making him shudder. He opened his eyes staring at Din's visor "Can I ask you something?"
Din growled again, pulling away and Luke gave him the once-over realizing that the man was growing impatient and he felt miserable knowing that once again he was making Din feel rejected.
"No, wait, stay like this for a while. Please." He whispered encircling Din's neck with his arms bringing him close again "Din, why did you show us your face on Mandalore?"
Din sighed and brushed his fingers against Luke's cheek "I wanted to show you my face, I've always wanted to give you that, although I couldn't, that was the only time I could show you my face and I used it."
The blonde looked down nibbling on his bottom lip, he looked at Din again when he felt his thumb pressing on his lip softly, freeing it from his teeth.
"What is it, cyare? What is going on inside that mind of yours?" He asked amused, brushing his fingers against the blonde's lips now, making Luke's breath leave his body.
No more lies.
"I always knew how you looked like, Din." Luke said feeling the way Din's muscles tensed up under his hands "Even when we were just pretending that we were dating."
"What did you do, Luke?" He asked and Luke could hear the way his voice cracked.
"Oh, no." Luke sat up moving his hands to grab him by his biceps "I saw your face through the force, I didn't know anything, like anything at all about the force back then, I didn't know how to stop it, I think that my desire to see you was so strong that the visions came easily." He was desperate clutching Din's pauldrons now "I'm sorry Din, I couldn't control it." Din didn't say a word, his visor fixed on Luke's face. "I'm sorry Din, I know I betrayed your trust, you must feel so vulnerable now, I'm so sorry, please." He stroked Din's helmet adoringly.
"You saw my face and you still liked me?" Din asked catching Luke off guard.
"What?" He frowned "Well, yes. Din, I know every inch of your skin, every freckle, every scar. I like every aspect of you." Din was hovering over him, it looked like a dream come true "And, I love your eyes." He said sighing and he couldn't hold it back anymore, he moved his hands slowly, caressing Din's pauldrons finally lacing his fingers on the back of his neck, bringing Din closer and pressing their foreheads together.
He let out a shuddering sigh, closing his eyes and tilting his head a little, savouring every little detail, Din's hands leaving a trail of electricity on his skin as Luke rested his head on the mattress letting Din guide him, he move his leg up to hook it around his waist as the tip of Din's fingers were burning against his thigh through the fabric of his pants. All of a sudden Din pulled away, and Luke opened his eyes only to find him straddling his lap, he parted his lips, his eyes on his helmet, the mandalorian tilted his head grabbing his hand and making him touch his chest plate, the blonde's fingers twitching, encircled by Din's hand "Take my armour off, Luke." He said under his breath as Luke stared at him dumbfounded. He blinked a few times and then looked around.
"Are-are you sure?" The Jedi stuttered.
Din nodded slowly, reaching out to toy with a lock of dark blonde hair with his free hand and tucking it behind Luke's ear "Uh-huh, I don't need my armour here, I got a Jedi to protect me now."
That made Luke blush from ear to ear as he bit his lip down to suppress a chuckle, he shook his head and chewed on his bottom lip utterly smitten with his mandalorian, gingerly picking at the buckles of his chest plate. He removed Din's armour piece by piece and his heart was thudding heavily in anticipation, he understood that this was a gift, something that Din was offering him for the very first time and when his warm fingers found the skin underneath the flight suit something stirred inside him, he pulled the suit down admiring him for a while and then he leaned in closer nuzzling his chest relishing in the way Din's breaths quickened, he looked up at his visor stroking his stomach and he closed his eyes pressing open-mouthed kisses on his neck.
The mandalorian groaned threading his fingers through his blonde hair, bringing him impossible closer, emboldened by the inebriating salty scent of Din's skin and the little noises he was making, Luke pulled the flight suit all the way down, exposing Din completely, he pulled back to stare at him searching for his eyes behind his visor, his glistening lips, red and plump matching his crimson cheeks, Din looked at him and chuckled "I forgot how beautiful you looked like this." He muttered running his thumb along Luke's jaw "Perfect, cyar'ika. You're perfect." He sighed undressing Luke slowly, the Jedi rolled his shoulders slightly letting Din slip his fingers under the tunics. The moment they were pressed flush against each other, Luke smiled playing with the soft curls on Din's nape under the end of his helmet, completely lost in the feeling of Din's skin against his own, their chest moving in sync with every breath, he looked into Din's visor cupping his helmet "I love you Din, I've always loved you." He said out of breath and his heart leapt in his chest.
Din sighed deeply "I love you too." He said pressing their foreheads together "I never fell out of love with you, cyar'ika." Luke nodded against him, utterly touched by his man's worlds, finally at peace knowing that this was right, this has always been right. The blonde fumbled with his robes discarded next to them on the mattress finally clutching his black belt, wrapping it around his head, and the last thing he saw before covering his eyes was Din grabbing his waistband and pulling his pants down. In the darkness of his blindfold he felt at home, hissing when Din's mustache tickled against the corner of his lips, and Luke kissed him. It felt like they had been kissing each other for hours, between giggles and whispers and when his man pulled back he was threading his hands through his dark hair, Din's mouth felt so good and warm on his chest, on his belly, on his thighs, he shuddered knowing that they belong together, he smiled tilting his head down caressing Din's cheeks, and this time the visions of his lover pleasuring him weren't present, he sighed relieved, moaning Din's name as they became one.
The blonde woke up in the middle of the night feeling lighter and pleased, he stirred beneath the sheets smiling until he realized Din wasn't lying next to him, he frowned finding out that the mandalorian was sitting on the bed, staring at the window, Luke's throat constricted all of a sudden, dread invading him, he sat up on the mattress, watching him in silence for a while. Maybe Din was regretting their night together.
"Din?" He asked quietly, the mandalorian tilted his head down a little, he was giving his back to Luke, hands resting at both sides of his thighs on the mattress, Luke considered it for a second, trying to assess him, Din was only wearing his helmet, still naked, that made Luke realize that this wasn't about regretting being together again but something else entirely. He kneeled behind Din encircling him with his arms, still not believing that they were skin to skin, and pressed a kiss on his shoulder, he felt bold enough to ask "What is it, love?"
Din put his hands on Luke's arms, caressing them, resting the back of his helmet against Luke's temple "You wore a blindfold." Luke froze, his lips stopped against Din's skin. "Why you didn't ask me to take my helmet off?"
The blonde blinked pulling back a little when Din turned his upper body towards him, he frowned "Your creed." He said under his breath.
"I've been showing Grogu my face since I redeemed myself." Luke parted his lips astonished. "I know, I did wrong, I kept that from you, I shouldn't have done that, I'm sorry. But I never stopped considering him my clan, Luke."
Luke pursed his lips not breaking eye contact with him behind his visor.
"Is that wrong?" Din asked staring down.
"No. I do believe that he's your son." He said making Din look at him again. "I won't repeat the Old Jedi Order mistakes, Grogu needs community, I told you, I want to give him that."
"Good." Din sighed and sounded relieved, he ran his fingers over Luke's chest "Because I want to be with my clan." He found his hand squeezing it "And I want to show my face to the people I consider my clan." He drew in a sharp inhale "And that includes you." He went silent expectant and Luke's heart soared.
The Jedi blinked back tears completely choked with emotion "Yes, Din, I'm your clan." He nodded leaning in closer to him and Din curled his hands around Luke's to place them on the sides of his helmet. Their joined hands lifting the last piece of armour between them, Luke's eyes went round when he finally saw Din's eyes boring into his own, brown and gentle as he remembered them, he smiled cupping Din's cheeks, the mandalorian closed his eyes sighing, placing his hands on Luke's hips, digging his fingers into his skin "My Din." He whispered against his lips, kissing him softly, he broke the kiss resting his face against Din's, eyes closed "I love you." The mandalorian chuckled rubbing circles on his back.
"I love you, cyare." And his voice sounded more beautiful than ever.
The mandalorian, the Jedi and their force-sensitive child went on missions across the galaxy, returning home between quests, some people said that they lived in a little cozy cabin on the outskirts of Nevarro, some said they settled on Mandalore, some said they built a Jedi temple on Ossus, and all of them were right, the Galaxy became their home and they were its protectors.

You said I could rambles about Rexanidala @ you so here we are, i hope you won't regret your choice ❤️
OKAY SO FIRST OF ALL you have the characters aka the canon couple (Anakin Skywalker & Padmé Amidala that i think most people know at least from names?) and then you have Rex aka Captain Rex aka Anakin's right hand man during the Clones Wars and LISTEN in general i love their relationship but if you add poly to it??? -chefkiss-
Like listen you have one of the most powerful Jedi, one of the most badass & kindest Senator & one of the best Clones Officer around there, you put them in a room together, and they lost all their braincell and something ends up in fire. There's so much raw chaos in them. They're so competent but they forget everything when you put them together. They just go and cause so many problem, they're probably the reason why Mace Windu decided to stay bald and why Obi-Wan Kenobi ended up grey that young.
Various exemple of their chaotic energy: the very classic "someone is trying to assassinate me so I'm gonna go into the lion's den and almost get killed, i mean i did take my Jedi bodyguard with me after all—" from one Padmé Amidala; "one of my friends got killed so I'm gonna resolve his murder even if it's not my job" from the same Padmé Amidala; "imma gonna crash this ship on the enemies bc why not" by Anakin Skywalker (self-proclamed best pilot of the Galaxy); "imma gonna give my lightsaber to my very secret wife to prove to her how much i love her and oooops there's a hostage situation and i don't have my weapon anymore" by, again, Anakin; "I'm gonna shot point blank at a clone bc he was acting suspicious and I'm not telling anyone and especially not my superior officer why i did that — hey look it was a droid i was right lol" by Rex; "you know what since droids want to pretend they're us I'm gonna pretend I'm a droid in clone armor" by Rex AGAIN; and, obviously, the whole "Padmé & Anakin are married but it's a secret so obviously we're gonna kiss everywhere, give lovesick at each other all the time, acting all lovey-dovey and/or jealous when with each other, to the point that even our enemies know we have something going on", to the "Rex for some reasons knows about their relationship and is trying to cover for them but he's really not any better than them in the art of lying and/or pretending he has no idea what's going on". They're disasters and i love them <3
ALSO Re: the last part, there's a whole scene where 1) Anakin is like "hey Rex come on we have something to do -wink wink wink-" IN FRONT OF SOME OF THEIR MEN 2) Rex is like "srly, rn now??" And Anakin insists and i swear when you watch this scene without context........ so gay 3) Anakin uses Rex's helmet to call Padmé "in secret" (re: they're so bad at keeping it a secret) and Rex is keeping guard 4) while they are talking, and despite the fact that they haven't seen each other in months and haven't been able to talk to each other a lot, Anakin asks advices to Padmé bc he's worried about Rex and wants to help him 4) Padmé knows Rex & the way he think enough to reassure Anakin and she's also worried about Rex but trusts him 5) LISTEN THEY'RE IN LOVE I DON'T MAKE THE RULES.
Anakin/Padmé is pretty much established but it's like,,,, so easy to add Rex to their couple??? Like, ofc Anakin is close with him, he's his most trusted man and his right hand man!! He knows him & cares for him & trusts him everything and everyone he hold dear!!! But also Rex & Padmé bonded in their own way!! Like, mainly, they got infected by a dead virus together and almost died, which, u know, is always a good way to bond with your future wife <3 And they're obviously friends!! And i absolutely believe they team-up to stop Anakin from doing his most stupid ideas lmao (at least when it's not their brand of chaos and thus they enable him ofc).
ALSO there's Ahsoka!!! She's Anakin's Padawan so obviously she's close to him, and bc she goes to war with him she's also close to Rex (and the rest of their men, tbh it always kills me a little how they all care for each other)!! He gives her advices and takes care of her and supports her!!! And they obviously love each other a lot!!! Rex's love for Ahsoka literally saved her life during Order 66 idkdjdj I'm so normal about it. BUT ALSO she's close to Padmé!!! Padmé is her friend!! She follows Padmé on stupid mission she decided to do herself and uses as justification "Anakin told me to stay with her to learn politic :D" kdjdjdjdj anyway she's at the same time their little sister and their kid and i LOVE IT.
Also there's so much angst potential. Like, Rex survived the end of the war but neither did Anakin nor Padmé. Rex didn't know Luke & Leia were their children. He was robbed of his kids' whole life!!! Rex didn't know about Anakin being Darth Vader either!! (He had a suspicion but no real answer.) How do you want me to be normal about it???
And in a Palpatine-slips-on-a-banana-peel-and-dies au, they can just raise the twins together and they would be even more chaotic that they already are in canon <3 but also i think they deserve it. As a treat.
Anyway i love them so much and we're like five out there shipping them but IT'S FINE. MY LIVE WILL NOT DIE.
thank you <3
(sponsored by the show Star Wars: the Clones War)
Thank you so luch for rambling @ me about ur blorbos i love when ppl are sonpassionate about stuff they love

Today was especially exhausting, tbh it's been an exhausting WEEK so today I bring you not much else other than platonic Anakin thoughts cause I love him very much and I was having some talks with my bff and Ruby! ❤️
As kids, I think my s/i and Anakin were very much the same brand of chaotic, but I was just a step further than Ani cause he's always has the expectations of The Chosen One, so even though trouble has a knack for finding him, he still cares what the Council thinks of him. I, however, have no such expectations. Not to mention a very loosey-goosey hippie Master too! Ruby suggested that that may cause a bit of tension between us because he can't be as carefree as I can.
And it all comes to a head when we're like 15 or 16 and I convince him to take a speeder out and go on a joyride with me! Maybe we get into a drag race and get mixed up with some bad sorts or some other trouble, but we're caught and reprimanded hard by the Council but he gets the worst of it, and then an earful from Obi-Wan to boot. Anakin blows up at me about it after he's excused, and at first I think he's just being stubborn, but then I get a scolding from my Master. It's mild at best, and clearly out of love because she feared for our safety but it's still enough to shake me to my core cause ouggh parental disapproval and I realize I need to buckle down and be better, and I do!
Flash forward to Attack of The Clones at the start of the war, me and Ani have both grown quite a bit and I'm one of the jedi that come to the battle of Geonosis and even help save Ani, Padmé, and Obi-Wan! I'm a Knight now, and when all is said and done I greet Ani with the same familiarity as before with "I see you've still got the dorky Padawan haircut!" "You... passed the trials??" "What, like it's hard?"
But upon seeing his face at that, I tell him how good it is to see him again and when we're alone together again we have a heart to heart. He sees I've learned that my actions have consequences and have matured a bit, and he's learned to care a little less about the Council's disapproval and trust himself more and we realize how much we missed each other and still care about each other. :'3
And after a few more jokes and a hug, we're happy to be in each other's lives again. And despite the uncertainty of a war starting, we know we'll look out for each other from now on!

ahsoka! (ask meme) <3
ooof okay, this will be interesting skskk
First impression:
not much to be honest. i was first introduced to her three years ago via the clone wars film and really didn't think much of her. at that point, i had only seen the films so was only interested in the characters i knew and didn't give much thought to the new ones being introduced.
Impression now:
she's cool and i like her, but im not as invested in her character or story as i am with other characters. sometimes i think i might have been more into her if i had grown up with her, alas that wasn't the case.
Favourite moment:
hmm, i enjoyed seeing her compassion and strength for the captured Jedi younglings during the 'padawan lost' episode. her kindness was lovely to see after so much action during the previous episodes.
Idea for a story:
ahsoka is reunited with obi-wan before a new hope, maybe only days before? and its just a very emotional and wrenching moment. i really want to see them dealing with anakin's betrayal together, and i hope that this could possibly even happen in canon. don't ask my how though haha.
Unpopular opinion:
the content that we're given showing her and anakin's relationship doesn't align with the depth and strength of their bond that we're told they have. that's not to say that they don't care for or love each other, because i can see that they do, but sometimes i feel that the importance of their relationship is exaggerated.
Favourite relationship:
despite what i said above, her relationship with anakin is my favourite. it's fun and its adaptive and its interesting, i can clearly see why she was introduced to develop anakin's character in the period between aotc and rots and i'm grateful that their relationship added depth to the overall story.
Favourite headcanon:
ahsoka is known for being the fastest Jedi in the temple when using force assisted speed. she just likes to go zoom zoom zoom everywhere.
Send me a character.

Thoughts on some of the more popular M/M in star wars? And your favorite?(example: dinluke, Finpoe, rexwalker, codywan?)
In general I like them all (tbh, less so with dinluke but I'll expand on that below).
Since I follow a lot of clone-centric blogs, I don't see as many M/M Star Wars pairings come across my dash as I do with other pairings. I do like finpoe, and I like the Finn/Poe/Rey triad (an OT3 for me), but I didn't really like the sequels, so I don't follow many blogs that post sequel content. I love seeing it when it makes its way across my dash, though.
For dinluke, I was never really all that hot on it, tbh. Maybe it was the limited contact (which honestly doesn't really matter much when we make our own fanon), but I've always been a bit partial to Luke/Lando, or Luke/Han (or if we're feeling really spicy, Luke/Han/Leia -with Luke & Leia being involved with Han but not with each other, of course). Another nail for dinluke was Luke sending Grogu back to Din with R2. We all know that R2 was perfectly capable, of course, but Luke not going back just rubbed me wrong. It could be the premise of a dinluke fic though. Luke doesn't go because he can't bear to see Din, and fears he'll run away to be with him too. Or something like that. Anyway, I can't really ship anyone with Din who wouldn't personally ensure that Grogu made it back to him safely.
Regarding Din, I kind of ship him with everybody that was ready to ready to die for our little green baby or willing to fight side by side with him. So that includes nearly everyone he comes in contact with. Bobadin and dincobb are both pretty popular, bit honestly I like all of them (I even ship him a little bit with Cara Dune). I think I could happily put him at the center of his own harem.
As a clone-centric blog you'd think I would see rexwalker fairly often, but it rarely comes across my dash. I don't have any issue with it, and I think there could be some fun scenarios there, but I don't really see much Anakin shipping coming through either. I wonder if that has to do with how central to the prequels his love for Padme is? In any case, not one I particularly search out, but if the right bit of art or fic comes across my dash I'm smashing the reblog button.
Codywan is probably my favorite, and it seems to be pretty popular with a lot of other people too. I think I like it because it's pretty obviously doomed, so to see art and fics where everything's OK is great (or conversely, when everything is ripping your heart out and you just want them to be happy, but Cody's over here still hunting Obi-Wan down even though it's been 10 years). Anyway, I love Obi-Wan much more than I actually post here. His story is packed full of loss, and he just continues on doing what he believes he has to do. He is steady and solid during the worst parts of his life, and he never waivers. It pays off in the end.
On Cody's part, he is a strong and capable leader who loves his men and is dedicated to serving the Republic. We have seen his kindness and compassion in canon, and we know that he has morals and convictions he won't compromise in the name of service. Unfortunately when it comes to the Clones, canon limits us in regard to Canon/Canon ships. Most clones don't interact with non-clones that aren't either their Jedi general, another Jedi general, a padawan, or a senator. There's also a power imbalance issue, and I think that limits a lot of people in shipping clones with most other canon characters as well.
What I would love to see more (personally) in codywan shipping is Cody being the one to comfort Obi-Wan, or sometimes more "neutral" balances (Cody being the big spoon, or standing over Obi-Wan).
Regarding clone power imbalances, I've seen a lot of different discussions on it by a lot of different people. It's a complicated subject in shipping (heck, any shipping that includes clones has a lot of things to consider that are conplicated). For my part, I chose to recognize canon in that the clones are quite limited in what they're permitted to do, places they're permitted to go, ect, but when they have that bit of freedom (not enough, tbh), they have the free will to make the choices they want, and that would include chosing a partner that puts them in a power imbalanced relationship.
For any other M/M ship in Star Wars (including rarepairs and other less popular ships), I'm live and let live. I may or may not like it, but I would scroll on by if I didn't like it.

how much do you think obi-wan loves anakin and vice versa? i know they would die for each other, no doubt, but how deep do you think their love runs? do you think one loves the other more?
How does one measure love? There are many definitions of it, many proofs of it. Dying for each other, yes, but they would both also risk death for so many others. It was war after all, and they were both Jedi. The best proxy I can think of to track and evaluate love is attention, considering the question, who does one think about with positive concern?
It's my opinion that, while they both loved each other a great deal, Obi-Wan loved Anakin more. The imbalance makes sense when considering their history together: Obi-Wan, age 25, was suddenly the authority figure for a Padawan. He had an entire person in his charge, someone whose future success depended on his instruction and example. His entire life basically circled around Anakin to some degree after that.
He spent the next decade worrying about Anakin, paying attention to him, caring about him and his well-being. He thought about how to give him skills he needed to succeed as a Jedi. He had other things to pay attention to for sure, he was a Knight, so he did spend time doing missions for the Order, but still, no matter where in the galaxy he was, Anakin was still to some degree his responsibility, and in his thoughts.
The war began, Anakin was Knighted, and they became brothers-in-arms and friends. They went on missions together as equals, and joked about sharing a Padawan. He also was aware that something about Anakin had changed, but he trusted and believed in him. Other than the Republic and the Jedi Order, Anakin was one the centers of his life. It became part of his identity to be Anakin Skywalker's best friend.
He loved Anakin in a way that caused him to be blind to his growing darkness. He was betrayed by him, and even then, he spent the rest of his life watching over his son. He violated the Code for him with excessive love. This is canon we're talking about here, so their relationship is not romantic, but it is very intense, closer that friends, closer than brothers. They think about each other too much.
Anakin loved Obi-Wan too, don't get me wrong. He thought about him plenty. He spent the first ten years after leaving his mother perpetually aware of his Master. He worried about his expectations and living up to them, he protected him, he compared himself to him. He appreciated his kindness, resented his sternness. He set up tests to make sure Obi-Wan cared.
The problem was that he grew close with the Chancellor and fell in love with Padmé, committed atrocities, and began to pull away from Obi-Wan. He thought about him, but not as much in a positive way. He blamed Obi-Wan for bad advice about his dreams. He resented Obi-Wan for lying to him, for choosing the Council over him, for not respecting his feelings. He spent his free time thinking about Padmé instead.
As Vader, he probably brooded a great deal over the man who put him in that suit, and wanted his capture. He thought about him, but not with love, but the inverse of it. Vader hated Obi-Wan. That hatred was born out of the love that he felt once, but I think it far surpassed that feeling in magnitude; he hated him for far longer than he loved him. Obi-Wan never hated Vader. Hatred was a place reached after fear and anger, and both of those things dissipated in time.
I think in the end, Obi-Wan separated Anakin and Vader in his mind, not only because of Yoda's suggestion that would make it easier to kill him for his crimes, but because he loved Anakin Skywalker so much. He kept him alive in his memory as his best self, holding him apart from who he became. He found a way to remember Anakin positively, because he wanted to. If attention is love, that's love.

10 - Sister's Plan
Tumblr media
Part 11
Yoda's New Padawan
@tyrionsprincess30 @mrskenobi19
Suddenly we both just blurted out the weight on our chests, catching each other completely off guard. "I'm pregnant."
Obi-wan's POV
Hanging my mouth open in shock I slapped my hand to my forehead knowing that Anakin must be behind this. Even when he was a child I could see the way he looked at her. When we returned to the Temple he was so nervous about seeing her after years of being apart. Y/n and her sister just stand still for a few moments then ran to each other embracing the other in a hug with a huge grin. I smiled a small one myself at seeing her happy. Her smile is something precious that I get to see rarely. But I still hope that no one on the Council suspects anything from us. We would get thrown off the Council and have to turn in our lightsabers if they discovered us.
Y/n's POV
Wrapping my arms around my sister I was afraid about being pregnant. But it helps that she has to deal with the same thing as me. Finally we pulled apart and she runs a hand through her hair mumbling out with a nervous smile. "So he's the father and Anakin is the father of mine." I nodded understanding her words glancing to Obi, tugging him towards her by his wrist. He looked at his feet nervous but spoke to my sister with true words. "I never wished to hurt her, Padme. And I'm sorry I've been sneaking around with her." She shakes her head taking his hands in hers stills smiling up at the Jedi master. "I'm not mad, Master Kenobi. In fact I figured you two would get together for awhile. Anakin once said you're encouraged to love." I weakly smiled up at Obi who intertwined my hand with his own.
"We need to consider the risks of keeping the truth a secret. We'll need to find a way to hide the fact that we're pregnant." I explained to my sister unsure of what to do. Master Yoda is already suspicious of us. It won't be long before the rest of the Jedi Council follows. "Maybe we could go back to our home planet and raise our children there." Padme suggested taking a seat back on the long couch. I plopped down by her eyeing Obi who runs his fingers over his beard again. "It would do more harm than good. It would likely draw more attention to the both of you." Turning to face my sister I play with my fingers. "I need to talk with Master Yoda." Padme and Obi both whipped their heads my direction, mouths dropping opened in shock. Obi-wan stepped up softly speaking shifting from foot to foot. "Dear, are you sure that's the best option..."
Getting to my feet I run my fingers through my hair staring into his blue eyes. He crossed his arms over his chest locking gazes with me. I know he trusted Master Yoda, admiring his skills with the Force for many years. "I trust him Obi. I don't want to have to hide. It's not like we'll have a choice when I'm almost as big as a balloon." He sighed dropping his head seeing Padme eyeing him. She tucks hair behind her ear trying to stand tall. "I think it's a good idea. Yes the Jedi has rules but...surely every Master forms a connection with their padawan." He throws his head back hating to admit she had a good point. Taking his hands in my own I give him puppy dog eyes hoping he'll let me do it. "Please, Obi. If they make us turn in our weapons then that's what we will do. Then we will raise our child whenever we want."
Leaning up on my toes I kissed his cheek walking out the door. Heading towards the council room I remember the first time I met him inside that room. The day he asked me to become his padawan. "Age a concern it is not. Potential I see in you. Wise to take you on as my apprentice it is." Getting to my feet I bowed to him handing him back his lightsaber I voiced. "I accept, Master Yoda." Opening the door I see him standing by the window staring at a sunset. He turned to me and I bend down on a knee greeting him. "Master, I need to tell you something." He lifts his head standing in front of me declaring. "Explanation needed not. Know of you and Kenobi I already do." My nervous smile fell in shock as I feel my heart staring to race. Of course he knows. That's why he's called a Jedi Master.
Comments really appreciated ❤️

Could u rec some more (obikin) fics please?
sure! to shake things up a bit, here's a list of wips I'm really excited for (for a variety of reasons, but mostly because i want more people to read wips)
(i've tried to include a mix of ratings and tags, but i just went through my history for these, so if there's a lot of a specific tag, i had a micro-obsession and no shame):
Passion by why-is-my-nose-a-carrot (updates to this story and their previous one literally make my day, I'm obsessed with their writing style and story choices and i could literally go on and on this is probably the wip i'm most hyped about)
Taking Care by @ragnarlothcat (always obsessed with a good mission fic paired with a feelings realization that then blends seamlessly into 'i did not just have that feelings realization what are you talking about don't be silly.')
earthshine by posthumous_vigor (deaged obi-wan and emperor vader and baby twins who just want their uncle ben back while vaderkin misses his master but appreciates the younger version, but really, really misses his master's kisses)
do you know the name faith by heian (padawan obi-wan & master anakin, force dyad, so promising, huge love and huge anticipation)
How Hondo Ohnaka Accidentally Saved the Galaxy by DontCallMeShirley (super funny, love the concept, love Hondo's voice--he drugs obikin so that they don't interfere with his plans. they don't. they get married instead. Just. So good.)
Νόστος by NFx (I love a Hades/Persephone fic, I mean--I did write one myself but I'm just so excited to read one. I never get tired of these! This is just chef's kiss on my favorite sort of possessive and protective tropes.)
Blindfold me (I'm the only witness) by @lilredghost (jeez i love this, very explicitly porn very 'speaking to the id'. consensual somno so as to sidestep obi-wan's massive guilt complex)
Any Other World by @mysticmjolnir (I was so excited to see this update!! it's been one of my favorite Post-Kenobi show release fics. Like. Just the angst! the hurt! the longing! an anakin and an obi-wan who want their anakin and obi-wan but also want each other because they're the closest they may ever come to the their obi-wan and anakin again)
Welcome Surprises by nephilimswitchlight (such a sweet fic, where anakin surprises obi-wan with his presence on his birthday)
soft, warm, mine by lovbaby (oof. salivating at this fic concept, cannot wait for a second chapter. i can already tell the misunderstandings will be BEAUTIFUL)
if this isn't nice, what is? by anonymous (anakin learns how to jerk off with his new mechno hand. he also learns how to jerk off while thinking about obi-wan. delicious. cannot wait for more)
this land is mine, but i'll let you rule by travellingcircus (i would follow travellingcircus wherever they lead; i love their fics and have probably reread them constantly. in this one, anakin buys a slave to help him on his moisture farm but like. obi-wan's definitely a jedi. right? right??)
bodies (& the celestial reimagination) by @noona96n (i just found this fic last night but it's absolutely darling, i love any fic that starts with anakin as a baby padawan and him hero-worshipping obi-wan im a weak gal i have simple needs. i cannot wait to see how this story develops going forward!)
we're swimming with the sharks (until we drown) by @coldwaughtered (another fic I found just last night, but in love! high-powered, put together lawyer and smitten anakin with probably equally smitten obi-wan but the pov is anakin's so that comes off stronger at first + fake marriage for more money which i guess means obi-wan was like if this twunk marries someone else i'll stop being distracted and NOT fall into a consensual workplace relationship only for that to majorly backfire! love the playing with the timeline as well)
The Other Half of My Soul by RedMetalWitch (It took a few months to convince myself to read this as I wasn't quite sure on how absolved of his sins/darkness Anakin would be--my greatest fear unless i'm in a particular once a year sort of mood is a uwu darth vader--but i absolutely adore this fic. i don't know who isn't already following it, but worth the read!)
Shutting the eye of reason by anonymous (another guilty pleasure fic, where anakin is extremely jealous of qui-gon for taking up all of his master's time, and decides to do something about it. mainly by seducing him.)
and of course to round off the list, my beautiful and constant obsession and pipedream that one day it will update if only i keep the faith:
Open Circle by Calyss (my absolute favorite take on sith obi-wan i've ever read. I cannot explain more. It's just so good.)

« I wish you would write a fic where…. »
Honestly I’ve read what everyone propose in this blog and my god y’all thirsty for d/s content with this duo it’s hilarious.
What if for once after months of smiles, casual tender touches and being more sassy (which is the equivalent of more affectionate with those two) Obi-Wan is the one confessing his feelings and the one willing to try to be in a relationship with Anakin and Anakin is like « No. » and « you should probably stop thinking about me like this ». There is absolute confusion and pain and the resonating sound of Obi-Wan’s heart shattering before Anakin connect his brain and explain that it’s not about him loving Obi-Wan (because Force knows he does) but he will never be able to forgive himself if he was the reason Obi-Wan didn’t pursue his dream of being a Jedi and live a lie because he has some misplaced affection for his former padawan.
okay but can you really blame us for being thirsty when Anakin still calls Obi-Wan master like that 💦
OOOOOH I love the fact that for once it's Anakin who tries to be the reasonable and selfless one!
I love when they slowly grow more touchy and show their affection more openly, there is something that makes me go insane about two people knowing each other so well and for so long and became comfortable enough around each other to have a way of talking, touching or doing things just for the other (bonus point for anyone else going crazy, because how do these two idiots don't notice they're already together?)
So one day Obi-Wan realise what they're doing (Anakin has moved back in Obi-Wan's quarters and yesterday they fought because how dare you watch an episode of the show we're supposed to watch together Obi-Wan, and for his crimes Obi-Wan had to rewatch it while massaging Anakin's feet) and how close they are to acting like an actual married couple.
And the thing is. Obi-Wan is confident. He knows him, and there is no way Anakin, who smiles so brightly when he sees Obi-Wan after a long time apart and calls him every night when there are on opposite ends of the galaxy, isn't on board with that. There is no way Anakin wouldn't want to try a romantic relationship. So he confesses.
And Anakin says no.
He says "you should probably stop thinking about me like this" and... can you even imagine.... how absolutely devastated Obi-Wan would be? How ashamed he would be to have made his former padawan uncomfortable these past few months with all these unwanted tender touches and his misplaced affection?
and what if Anakin DOESN'T have time to explain his reasoning because Obi-Wan is way too focused on thinking "well! if you excuse me, I need to drown myself in the sea right now"? what then???
tell me what you want me to write!

New Rexsoka fanfic idea: Pocahontas/Star Wars AU
Tumblr media
OK so.. The basic principle is, this story will follow the plot of Disney's Pocahontas (yes I am aware that this movie is very controversial these days, what with the racial stereotypes and blatant disregard for historical accuracy. However I shall always have a place in my heart for this movie and the joy it gave me as a child, plos no need to go for historical accuracy with star wars 😁) but while using the characters from star wars the clone wars. In this AU the native Americans will be the Jedi living in peace on the planet/system Dagobah. And the English vagina company will be the clones, who are being "led" by empor Palpatine, in search or gold and a place for the clones to settle. So basically the jedi never joined the Republic and chose to live a life of peace on a planet that had yet to be decovered by others. There for leaving the said Republic now empire, to consider them to be nothing but primative "Savages" as they know nothing of the jedi exsept for what the Chancellor/emperor (secret sith Lord) has told them. The clones are slightly more indifferent. They just want to find a planet they can settle down on, as the war they were made for is now over. But at the same time they to only know what the emperor has told them.
Character list:
Ahsoka as pocahontas
Rex as John Smith
Palpatine as governor Radcliffe
Anakin as Chief Powhatan
Obiwan Kanobi as Kekata
Yoda as grandmother willow 😂
Barise Offee as Nakoma
Lux Bonteri as kocoum
Tup as Thomas
Fives and Echo as Ben and Lon
Tarkin as Wiggins (cus he's a suck up and I want to humiliat him)
So the clones of coruscant are on an expedition to find gold, crystals and other pressures metals, and create a new clone settlement on the new found planet in the Dagobah system. A planet inhabited by the mysterious jedi. They are being led by the greedy emperor Palpatine. (we're gonna protend Palps does more than just sits in his swivel chair drumming his fingers together, while cackling maniacally) though most of the leading is deing done by the clone Captain Rex, who is exsited to explore the new world.
The jedi, who are currently being led by the chosen one Anakin Skywalker. (who with the help of his old master and adviser Obiwan Kanobi, manged to abolish the old ban on attachments) who is grieving for the death of his late wife Padme who died a year prior. All he has left of her, is his children, Luke, Leia and padawan Ahsoka Tano, who Padme and he considered as their first child.
As an alliance plan for their nabouring temple, Anakin wants to marry Ahsoka to the non force sensative son of the grandmaster of the said temple, Lux Bonteri. Ahsoka, who is a free spirited young woman, isn't so sure of the match. Lux had once been a good childhood friend of hers but since the death of his mother (who had been great friends with Padme) they had both grown apart and he had become far more serious and stoic than he once was. (I know this is a bit out of character for Lux, but in all honesty the only character that seemed to fit Kocoum character was Mace Windu, and that just didn't scene right to even surgest that Ahsoka marry Windu...soooo.....Sorry Windu)
As a gift Anakin give Ahsoka the necklace he had carved Padme when they had meet, saying it was Padme's dream to see Ahsoka wear it at her own wedding.
Ahsoka, still in two minds about this arrangement, goes to visit her Great great (bout 3-4 greats) grandmaster Yoda who lives as a hermit in the hollow of a willow tree. Telling him of her troubles. Together they meditate on it, and the Forse tells them something is come. Opon hearing this, Ahsoka climbs Yoda's tree and looks up at the sky, only to see ships coming down from the sky (it had been generations since anyone had come to or left the planet, so ahsoka has never seen a battle ship before)
Opon arriving on the new planet, the clones are ordered to start digging for treasure strait away. Captain Rex on the other hand choses to (scout the terrain) explore the new land.
Whilst exploring, Rex then comes across Ahsoka. At first he hides behind a water fall, ready to Shoot at the "savage" jedi before they can attack him, but is shocked to see a beautiful young Togrutan woman, insted of the deadly force welding witch that he had been exsepting. After a while of just staring at each other, Rex puts away his DCs and slowly trys to make his way towards her. Ahsoka on the other hand is having non of it and choses to run away from the strange hardskinned (she's refusing to his armour) man. At which point he gives chase, wanting to know more about, the strange jedi woman.
After a breaf differculty with the language barrier (the force helps them understand one another. I know, I never got that bit of the movie eather) and an unfortunate chose of words on Rex's part, that courses Ahsoka great offence on behalf of herself and her people, Ahsoka goes one to showing Rex the ways of the galaxy though the jedi's point of view.
Meanwhile, the other jedi after a deadly encounter with the clone army, are now even more weary off their arrival. After meditating with the council on this, Anakin choses to forbid anyone from going near the new settlement until they know more about the visiters. Calls upon the other jedi temples to lend aid should, the worst come to the worst.
Ahsoka and Rex continue to meet up in secret graduly developing feelings for each other. Ahsoka eventually introduces Rex to Yoda, who fermly believes them to be the key to developing peace between the jedi and the rest of the galaxy.
They chose to go to Ahsoka's master to talk about a peace treaty. Unfortunately unbeknownst to them they are being watched, by both Lux and Tup. When seeing Rex and Ahsoka kiss, Lux flys into a jealous rage and attacks Rex. Tup seeing the "jedi savage" attack his big bother rases his blaster and shots Lux dead. Horrified Rex tells Tup to run as the jedi come down on them, having heird the blaster shot. Thinking it was Rex who killed Lux, they tear him away from Ahsoka and take him away to Aniken, who sentences rex to death at dawn the next day, declering war on the clones.
Ahsoka's friend Barise, when seeing how upset Ahsoka was, manges to get ahsoka and rex time to say goodbye. Where they admit their feelings for each other.
Tup meanwhile, runs back to the other clones and tells them about the attack and how Rex was going to be killed if they didn't do something. Overhearing this, Palpatine choses this moment to rally the men into, marching on the jedi. (just as he had been planing all along)
Ahsoka goes to Yoda in greaf. Not knowing what to do. With his help, she finds the strength to run and try and stop the fighting.
The jedi drag Rex up onto a stone atop of a cliff, preparing him for exicution. And the clones march towards them to attack. Anakin rases his lightsaber ready to bring it down on Rex's head, only to stop midway when Ahsoka charges forth and throws herself on Rex, shielding him from harm. Ahsoka tells her master if he wants to kill Rex, he'll have to kill her too. Gives a heartfelt speach about peace and understanding. When seeing the love she had for the clone in her eyes, love that he had once seen in Padme's eyes for him, this moves Aniken to release Rex, stating that if there was to be more killing it would not start with the jedi.
Palpatine trys to rally the clones to attack, but after see what the jedi girl did to protect their bother, they refuse. Outraged, the emperor force pushes the clones aside, leaps onto to cliff, pulls out his own blood red saber and goes to stab Anakin in the back with it. But Rex seeing this come, pushed Aniken out of the way, getting stabbed in the side him self.
With the combined force of both the clones and the jedi, they kill Palpatine, riding the galaxy of the last known sith lord. Rex now fatality injured now lying in the arms of his jedi, surrounded by brothers, he trys to say goodbye, but fall short when, darkens overtakes him.
Ahsoka refusing to exsept this, uses to the Forse to heal him. Aniken and Obiwan try talking her out of it, saying she would die if she didn't stop, but she refuses, saying she'd rather die than live without him. She falls unconscious as rex wakes up. Upon seeing what she had done for him, Rex holds Ahsoka, beging her not to leave him. Obiwan tells him he needs to take her to the temple to bask in the force for her to survive. He cares her all the way there, refusing to let anyone else take her form him. He lays with her in the temple, whilst the other jedi, pray to the force to revive her. And as they do this, the clone army, position themselves on guard outside the temple, ready to diffend it if need be.
Ahsoka eventually wakes up, much the the relief of her family and celebrations of the clones. Both she and Rex are married that same day, and the clones are all welcomed as family. This was now their home for as long as they wanted it.
So what do you guys think, would this be a fanfiction you'd want to read, or should I just leave it at this? Let me know. And if you have any ideas let me know xxxxxx

@city-of-fae LISS OKAY I STARTED ANSWERING YOUR ASK AND TUMBLR GLITCHED AND ATE IT I’M SO SORRY UGHHHH BUT ANYWAY
!!!!!! YOU ARE CERTAINLY NOT THE ONLY ONE!!! OBI AND SOKA CONSUMES ME SOMETIMES AND THIS IS ONE OF THOSE TIMES!!!! I LOVE THEM SO MUCH YES!!!!! and thank you so much for the ask that tumblr was very mean to!!!!! let me go listen--
the song in question
OH MY GOD
ONE SECOND I'M JUST OVER HERE SOBBING GAHHHHHHH THIS SONG!!!! oh MAN this song in the context of obi-wan and ahsoka????? AND POST-ROTS????? GODDDDDD OKAY YES YES YES ABSOLUTELY LISS YOUR MIND--
awake, awake, you children bold / take hold of all your books and fold / the corners, they warned us / a storm is coming on
this is an AMAZING start to this song given the context of post-rots. it really gives me the feeling of yeah waking everyone up and frantically whispering get up, get up, grab your stuff we have to go which just gahhhh yes reminds me a lot of obi-wan and ahsoka having to leave behind everything in the wake of anakin's "storm coming on." and, of course, "children bold" is very ahsoka and obi-wan would tell her to take her books that's so :'))
what do you mean you've lost your scarlet welly boots? / do y'know what they cost? / wear a raincoat or it'll soak you to the bone
okay again, I can see this scene so clearly in my head, they're rushing around searching for all their stuff and ahsoka's like "obi-wan I can't find my boots" and it's all very much parent scolding child in a hurry/panic but then still turning around and saying "make sure you wear a raincoat, here take mine" and again that is very much obi-wan and ahsoka to me!!
and I love you, don't you know / that I'll be with you all along, as long as you are kind / to those who are not strong and cannot find their scarlet welly boots
I feel like this really captures an essential of obi-wan's teachings to ahsoka: be kind, help everyone you can, remember when you were in that situation, "teaching is a privilege, it's part of a Jedi's responsibility to help train the next generation," etc etc and also just the "I love you, don't you know / that I'll be with you all along" godddd thinking about that with obi and soka is mAKING ME SOB
cause when it's cold / I'll wrap my scarf around you / and when it's hard / I'll place your head into my hands
yes. yes yes yes yes this!!! this right here is obi-wan and ahsoka!!!! I'm sobbing
and when you scream that it's not fair / it's like I've gone off to the coast / left you behind just standing there / pretending not to see your ghost / if only you could hear my voice / but you are screaming far too loud to hear me swear / just because I left doesn't mean I'm not still there
goddddd okay yes, I think this can be seen through a few different contexts, definitely post-rots and also deception (oUCH OUCH OUCH) like you said, and also I think this works for post-s5. just all the times where obi-wan and ahsoka were separated and this is just. ouch ouch ouch. but yeah this part with deception??? such a good angle, ahsoka screaming it's not fair, but obi-wan saying I'm still here. ugh. pain
I get to watch you grow up now / and make me proud / make all of the mistakes that make me laugh / oh, darling, lord, how you make me laugh / . . . / cause you were always strong / when you were young, you'd kick things just to see if they would fall
I'm sobbing. liss, I'm sobbing. this! this is so obi-wan looking at ahsoka when she was a padawan. I think she really really brought a source of light and hope to both his and anakin's lives during the war and their characters are just so good together bc she's a lot like anakin ("you'd kick things just to see if they would fall"), but not nearly as weighed down as either of them (at least not until the end), and like. they are just :'))))) they! are! father! and! daughter!!!!
they said "that girl, she's wrong" / but I'll stick up for you / even though you haven't got a clue
the wrong jedi. that's all I'm gonna say. just. the wrong jedi
actually, that's not all I'm gonna say KJASJKDLADKLJS bc I have a lot of conflicting feelings and thoughts about obi-wan's involvement in the wrong jedi arc and since we got basically nothing in the actual show (because d*sney is a bunch of cowards) it all sort of has to be conjecture. but anyway, I think that obi-wan did stick up for ahsoka as much as he could and I really want to believe that he was right beside anakin defending her and like really trying to prove her innocence, but what we're shown in the show is. not that and I've seen a lot of really like solid and well-informed posts about how a big part of obi-wan's characterization is that he is someone who lets go and I can't find the one I'm thinking of rn but also like. idk it is shown how conflicted he is during that arc. plus, how much could they have even taken obi-wan's opinion into account bc it's nearly impossible for him to be unbiased?? like he's her grandmaster!! idk and that is NOT what this post is about ajskdkljdsa, but basically. yes. yes this is obi-wan in the wrong jedi.
and I'm so proud of you
screaming, crying, throwing up. GOD I LOVE THEM SO MUCH
and when you scream "I'm not alright" / and throw my picture at the wall / "you were supposed to be my light / and keep me safe against them all / how could you leave me here?" you'll scream / . . . / you'll say "I've been so scared / you left me here behind / do you not care? / how the fuck am I supposed to carry on without you here?"
this! this is so so so much deception, post-s5, post-rots, all of this!!!! this is ahsoka confused and angry and hurt and betrayed and homesick and I'm going to SOB. I don't have much more to say about this line, just. yes. yes yes yes this
you'll miss me, oh jesus christ, you'll miss me / just as much as all those years ago, and you'll look up at the storm
okay yes this is definitely reminding me of post-rots ahsoka looking back on deception and post-rots obi-wan looking back on the wrong jedi both of them missing the other, both of them knowing what it feels like to lose each other and be separated and just having that happen again and again :(((
just when you're about to give up every hope you have, you turn around / perched by the stairs, someone's gone and left behind / a brand new pair of scarlet welly boots
this hits me SO HARD. it is so so indicative of obi-wan and ahsoka still being around post-rots even though they both think the other is gone (which is just. so heartbreaking I can't) but they both still have their memories of each other and what they've taught each other and I think that they really do live on in each other's lives after revenge of the sith and they both have the task of keeping anakin's memory alive and ensuring safety and happiness for other people and while their lives and missions are very different, they both are still trying to do the same thing and they still have that connection and I just. I sob.
I love them so much and this song is perfect for them thank you for introducing me to it!!!!!! I will never be over this song with them gOD

I see you're doing prompts/requests? Well since I was complaining about the lack of it the other day here's one for you: Cody and Ahsoka being siblings. Maybe playing a prank on Rex or Cody giving Ahsoka advice on being a Commander. I just think we really need more Cody and Ahsoka interaction.
Thank you so much @thisistheendtimes for the request, I really appreciate it – and I love this idea! I tried to include each element of your request without forcing it but it did turn out a little longer than expected haha. It was just so much fun to write! There definitely aren’t enough Ahsoka and Cody interactions in canon, so I hope you enjoy! (P.S. There is now a part two!)

Commander To Commander
21BBY
"Anakin and I should return in a rotation or two. Unfortunately, negotiations did not go as planned. We're trusting you both to begin the attack on the Separatist presence there on Katuu, before they try to eliminate the natives."
"You can count on us, General Kenobi," said Commander Cody, at parade rest by the holotable. "The Seppies won't stand a chance."
Ahsoka Tano, beside him, tried to emulate his more easy posture and relaxed expression, but she felt a spike of apprehension at the news from Obi-Wan and her master. She had never led so many men into such dangerous territory without Anakin to guide them, and she was reminded of the battle over Ryloth – which she would have rather forgotten.
"Snips, is everything all right?" Anakin asked. His hologram flickered, but Ahsoka saw the concern on his face, brows pulled in and gaze softened. She tried not to grimace as all eyes trained on her, and she cursed herself for remaining so quiet.
The people of Katuu were depending on the Republic to stand by them and push back the enemy. Ahsoka's guilt and her own doubts wouldn't serve the desert planet, and she didn't want to worry Anakin. So she said, "Yes, Master. Sorry, I've been thinking of strategies all day, and my mind drifted."
Anakin tilted his head, unconvinced.
"Well, then," said Obi-Wan, "keep us informed of your progress—"
"—and may the Force be with you both," Anakin finished, with a wink for Ahsoka.
And the holotable went dark.
"Are you sure everything's okay, Commander?" asked Cody before the silence could settle, his posture relaxing in the wake of the generals' transmission.
She couldn't meet his eyes. "Just a little nervous, I guess. I've never been given so much responsibility before."
"I understand," Cody replied, and he placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. "I remember the first time I left Tipoca City. Let me tell you, commander to commander: I was so nervous I thought I was going to be sick. All my knowledge of the galaxy beyond Kamino came from the simulations. It didn't take me long to realise the real deal is very different. But one thing I learned is to trust in my training, my brothers, and my general. You've got me, and your men – including Rex – and your presence as a Jedi will be enough to boost morale. You forget how many times you've helped them already."
Ahsoka's eyes grew hot. For the longest time, she'd been under the impression the clone marshal commander wasn't particularly fond of her: falling headfirst into the position of  a CO as she had, by proxy of her Padawan status, and despite her complete lack of military training. She wouldn't blame him. This unexpected kindness brought a lump to her throat.
"Cody, thank you," she said, with only the suggestion of a sniffle. "How do you always stay so calm?"
He chuckled, and crossed his arms over his chest. "That's what I've got you believing, is it?"
"You're telling me you're nervous now, too?"
"Well, maybe a little," he admitted.
"But you always look so composed." Was he just humouring her?
"Sometimes it pays to have the best sabacc face in the GAR. And sometimes it's important to let off a little steam."
"How do you let off steam?" she asked, unable to picture the commander of the 7th Sky Corps dancing to the pulsing music in 79's, or kicking back with a cold glass of Calamari xinphar.
He smirked. "Seeing as you brought it up: watch and learn, kid."
Cody raised his wrist comm and spoke into the microphone. "Captain Rex. We're in need of your expert opinion, if you could meet us on the bridge."
The comlink crackled before Rex's voice came through the transmission. Of course, sir. I'll be right there.
"What are you up to?" Ahsoka asked, following Cody out of the communications room and onto the command bridge. It was quiet, the chatter subdued, with most of the crew sleeping through the night shift. They passed the few comms officers on duty and stepped up to the viewport, Katuu and its desert biome filling their view.
"Patience, Commander," Cody replied, the corners of his eyes crinkling. "You'll see."
Ahsoka smiled.
A moment later, Rex stepped through the hatch and walked towards them down the aisle, his white and blue helmet tucked under one arm.
"Commander Tano, Cody," he said upon reaching them. "What did you need me for?"
"Rex, ol' boy." Cody patted his brother on the back and motioned for him to join them at the viewport, passing him a pair of macrobinoculars. "See what you think."
"What am I looking for?"
"That's just it, we're not sure. Over there." And Cody waved his hand in the general direction of Katuu, then watched with something like restrained glee in his expression as Rex brought the scopes to his eyes. It was the most animated Ahsoka had ever seen him.
"I don't spot anything out of the ordinary, Cody," the captain confessed, zooming in, then back out again.
"A little more to your left, I'd say," Ahsoka chimed in, beginning to catch on.
"What are you two—" Rex let out a sigh, and lowered the scopes. Cody was already chuckling, his mouth hidden behind a gloved hand. "Really, Cody? Again?"
Ahsoka shifted to get a closer look at the captain, then burst out laughing when she saw the perfect black circles around his eyes, and the look of resignation on his face. She doubled over, clutching her stomach as tears began to stream down her cheeks.
"Well, I'm glad you two are having fun," said Rex, handing the scopes back to his brother. "But I've got to round up the troops. And Cody, you'd better not have used the permanent stuff this time, or I swear I'll find a way to put you on latrine duty."
Laughing harder than ever, Ahsoka managed to say, "C'mon, Rexter. Lenses would suit you!"
Rex shook his head. In a bid to maintain some of his dignity, he shoved his helmet back on his head and strode from the bridge. But before he did, Ahsoka would have sworn she saw a grudging smile on his lips.
As soon as Ahsoka was able to catch her breath, she said, "Poor Rex."
"Oh, I shouldn't worry about him. It definitely wasn't permanent this time. I'm fairly sure."
"So that's how you let off steam, is it?" she asked. "You prank your brothers."
"Works every time. But if Rex isn't around, a nice cup of tea goes a long way, too."
→ part ii
I hope you enjoyed! This was so much fun to write, but if you have any feedback at all, feel free to pop it in the comments or a private message. And if you have any more prompts/requests, my asks are open! 💜
