29. “you’re a really bad liar.” // from these prompts! // read it on ao3!
Ahsoka doesn’t look at the Temple.
She can still feel it—that gentle warmth and familiar glow—wherever she goes, but she doesn’t look at it. And it’s fine. She doesn’t need to see it to still feel the gaping hole where the Jedi used to reside and she shoves the Force away at every opportunity.
Ahsoka pulls her cloak tighter. The nights have been getting colder and colder and she finds herself missing the Temple (and its inhabitants) more and more.
She looks over her shoulder again on instinct, half expecting to see Anakin or Master Yoda, or even Rex. But there’s just the usual blank, dark faces of the Coruscant nightlife and Ahsoka breathes a sigh of sad relief. If she can just get off Coruscant, get to a new planet, maybe somewhere Mid-Rim, then she can actually relax. Then she’ll be free. Ahsoka shakes her head, arms wrapping around herself.
She shouldn’t have to worry about being free.
The diner she steps in is nicer than most of the ones she’s frequented in the weeks she’s been exiled, and it’s late enough to not be crawling with too many sketchy figures. The Force simmers as the little bell dings to announce her entrance, and so Ahsoka keeps her senses sharp. A quick reaction can be the difference between life and death. She’s learned that enough times.
“Ahsoka.”
There. Ahsoka’s shoulders tense up immediately, her whole body freezing, and she squeezes her eyes shut. Of course. Of course. Ahsoka thought she wasn’t sure if she wanted to see anyone—each check behind herself was bittersweet, would it be better to reconnect or is complete isolation the safest option?—but as soon as the quiet, surprised word drifts into the air, an anvil slams down on Ahsoka’s chest and she wishes she was anywhere else.
She could leave. She could just turn around and walk—run—away, hide back in her seedy apartment with the moldy ceiling and rusty door. But something, be it obligation or pride or just plain shock, forces Ahsoka’s head to her left and she locks eyes with Master Kenobi.
He’s dressed exactly as she remembers: a few thousand layers of robes with no doubt the hundredth brown cloak wrapped loosely around his shoulders. There’s a full cup of what looks like cold caf nestled between his hands. Ahsoka tries not to walk too woodenly over to him, screaming against her own body for betraying her.
Not now, not him, not this.
His face is paler, a bit more sunken than it used to be, or so Ahsoka thinks, but his face is all pleasant surprise and familiar, if a bit hesitant, warmth.
“Please, sit down.” He gestures to the seat across from him.
Ahsoka’s heart lurches. “I’m good.”
A beat of silence. She sits.
His eyes scan her face. “How are you?”
“Fine,” she answers automatically. Oh, this is not going to go well.
Obi-Wan doesn’t seem fazed. He nods. “That’s great.”
More silence. Ahsoka tries not to fidget, fails; tries not to stare, fails at that too. And her flailing attempts to squash the surging anger inside herself—well, you can probably guess.
“What brings you to a place like this at such an hour?”
Ahsoka nearly huffs. He hasn’t changed a bit. She can’t decide if that’s comforting or . . . disappointing. “I could ask you the same thing.”
Obi-Wan nods again. “You could.”
She doesn’t.
“Would you like something to eat?”
Ahsoka’s mind goes on the defensive immediately, though she knows that’s completely off the mark. Does she not look like she can support herself? She doesn’t want—or need—his help, his charity. Ahsoka is perfectly fine on her own, thanks (for nothing), and has no desire for unsolicited aid.
“No.”
Obi-Wan doesn’t flinch, but Ahsoka feels like he wants to. Like this conversation is somehow pricking his chest with bitter pain. Well, that makes two of them.
“I’m glad to see you’re alright.”
Ahsoka bites her tongue hard, fangs digging in deep enough to make her head pound.
Obi-Wan’s brow twitches, lips pulling down into a pretty good impression of concern. “Ahsoka?”
“What do you think you’re doing?”
He blinks at her. “I’m sorry?”
Ahsoka’s eyes widen and she huffs in near-incredulous mocking. “Are you?”
His face darkens a touch. “Ahsoka—”
“Stop.” Force, why hadn’t she just walked out? “Whatever you’re about to say—don’t.”
But Obi-Wan has always loved talking, and Ahsoka should know that. “Ahsoka, please. I understand your feelings toward—”
“No you don’t.”
Obi-Wan’s jaw clicks shut.
Ahsoka’s face grows warm. “You can’t possibly imagine what I’m feeling, what I went through, other than your own part in it.”
“You’re right.” Obi-Wan’s hand is out and Ahsoka can’t remember if it always used to shake like that. “I misspoke. But I do know that you’re hurt and you have every right to be. I am so sorry.”
If this conversation doesn’t end soon, Ahsoka is either going to start throwing punches or sobbing and neither is a great look for her. “Okay.”
“If I could go back—”
“Well you can’t. And neither can I, but I guess that’s life.”
She’s purposely trying to goad him; fighting has always been easier than talking and maybe if they’re both angry, then Ahsoka won’t have to deal with the regret and guilt and fear and homesickness. But Obi-Wan is not so easily led.
“I only wish to explain, though I know it can never fully alleviate the pain of what happened. May I?”
Ahsoka can’t think of anything she wants less than to hear what he has to say. She wants—she wants Obi-Wan to stop talking, wants him to feel her devastation, she wants him to see how she is crumbling beneath the weight of what his Council has done to her.
“You all expelled me. You lost faith in me the second you got the chance to jump ship.” She chokes back tears. “The Jedi were supposed to be there for me—you were supposed to be there for me. Like family, right?”
Obi-Wan looks half on the verge of tears too.
“Ahsoka, I never lost faith in you, you must believe me.” He reaches for her. “I promise you, I tried everything in my power to speak for you in the Council, to try to prove your innocence.”
Ahsoka scoffs, feeling more bitter by the moment. “Fantastic job. Do you want applause?” She’s not sure where all this pent-up rage is coming from; she’s spent enough time meditating, considering the situation, her decision, trying to look at every angle. It’s been months. She thought she was past it. Or, at least, mostly past it.
“I understand your anger at me, I feel it myself. I completely failed you in your trial, Ahsoka, don’t think I’m unaware of that.” Ahsoka’s nails cut crescents in her palms. “I wish I could’ve done more—I should’ve done more.”
“You know what? Yeah, you should’ve. But this isn’t about you, Obi-Wan.” The name is sour on her tongue. “If forcing all this guilt on yourself somehow makes you feel better, be my guest, but you don’t have to burden me with the guilt of not absolving you from it.”
Because Ahsoka does feel guilty. She wants to forgive him and have everything go right back to the way it was, she a Jedi, he her partial Master, the three of them more like family than anything else. Her own stinging words churn in her stomach, half her brain raging against the other half: accept what’s probably your last chance at that old happiness or fuel the retribution you’re convinced you deserve. And she doesn’t know if she actually deserves it. And more importantly, she’s not sure Obi-Wan deserves this.
Haven’t they all been through enough?
But Ahsoka has never been good at thinking before speaking. And it’s a hell of a lot easier to feed the wolf craving vengeance than to scale the high road.
“Ahsoka, I am so sorry—”
Tears stinging her eyes, Ahsoka grabs her cloak, nearly knocking her chair over, her eyes never leaving Obi-Wan’s. “You’re a really bad liar.”
Obi-Wan flinches like he’s been struck.
Ahsoka lets the festering rage in her chest slither up to her tongue, lashing out in the empty air. “You’d think you’ve had enough practice.” Her voice is rough, harsh with stifled tears, words ripping holes where affection and warmth used to rest. All Ahsoka feels now, though, is scraped raw, and frustrated, angry confusion, and . . . and something else she doesn’t have time for. The door handle is cold on her blazing skin.
“Ahsoka!” Obi-Wan grabs her arm. She tries to shake him off, but his grip is too strong in its desperation. “Please, listen.”
Tears are dotting the greasy floor now and Ahsoka doesn’t know if they’re hers or Obi-Wan’s. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean that, I—” She’s still pulling away. The bell on the door is ringing.
“Ahsoka—”
“Just let go!”
The Coruscant air is freezing on Ahsoka’s face and she wrenches her arm away as they burst out of the diner.
They turn to face each other, blue eyes to blue eyes, two strangers with far too many memories.
“Ahsoka.”
And his voice is home and friendship and comfort and Anakin and the past.
“I’m sorry.”
The air is too stuffy, her chest too tight. There’s no room for the past in the scathing pieces of her heart.
She bolts off into the darkness.
“Ahsoka!”

“Think that’s the last of them?”
“I hope it is. But I don’t think so,” you admit.
You hold your lightsaber out in front of you, eyes scanning the forest. Smoking piles of battle droids lie at your feet. Some twitch in the throes of their final malfunction, others lie in silent pieces. Not far from here, you can hear another battle still going; shouts and blaster fire and curses ringing in the air.
The beautiful green landscape is scarred with saber marks and blaster burns. Almost every animal you’ve seen has long been scared off, sensing that this isn’t a safe place to be. Contributing to the marks on this once undisturbed planet fills you with a deep sense of regret, but there’s no way to drive the enemy away otherwise.
Ahsoka sighs beside you, wiping sweat from her forehead. “Better check in with the others, then.”
It feels like you’ve been on Uvena Prime for months. The fact that even bubbly Ahsoka is showing signs of tiredness proves it. The Separatists want this planet for its resources, and the natives are helpless to fight back. The 501st had been here for weeks before requesting backup, and now your legion is also in the thick of it.
The only good news is that it feels like it could be over soon. Clones, Shistavanens, and Jedi alike are holding their own today in one last push to take back the planet. After such a long siege, the Separatists are starting to pull back, no matter how badly they wanted it before. You can tell their sources are depleting. It’s difficult for them to maintain their position on such a backwater planet.
But that doesn’t mean they’ve given up yet.
“Master? You there?” Ahsoka says into her commlink. She shifts from foot to foot waiting for an answer, her Force signature anxious. It always is, separated from him in a fight like this. The longer the silence stretches, the worse she feels. Trying to placate her, you brush your Force against hers, putting off a sense of calm. She gives you a small smile, grateful for the attempt.
“Master?” she tries again. “We’re done here. Requesting an update on your end.”
You can definitely empathize with her concern. Somewhere out there is Obi-Wan, chasing Asajj Ventress through the thick trees. Count Dooku had instructed her to crush the Shistavanens, when they refused a Separatist occupation.
It takes everything you have not to stretch your Force bond as far as it’ll go, reaching, asking, hoping he’s okay. But you can’t risk distracting him. Even if it’s been days since you’ve seen him as more than a speck in the distance, or heard him as more than a voice on your comm. You know Ventress is deadly, and your stomach twists with worry at the thought of Obi-Wan alone with her.
Obi-Wan can take care of himself.
“Snips? Hey,” Anakin’s voice crackles over the comm, barely audible over the sound of shots. “We’ve got ‘em on the run --”
You and Ahsoka exchange a hopeful glance. The thought of getting off of Uvena Prime soon, maybe even tonight, is tempting. Strange to think that you’re missing the Star Destroyer and its long, confusing halls. But unlike Uvena Prime, it has running water and mattresses, food that doesn’t come from a packet.
“What are your orders?” she says, straightening.
Another long pause before Anakin gets back to you. “Follow the sound of shots and help us fight this scum off of this planet so we can get outta here.”
Hah. Typical Anakin; good to know that he's not lost his spirit. You've yet to see an occasion where he's anything less than normal, boisterous self. If he was, then you’d start worrying.
"That we can do. Headed your way."
“Any men down?” you ask on your own comm, stepping through thick vines and clusters of fallen droids.
“Kix and your men are on it. You just worry about getting here,” Anakin says before hanging up.
Right. That’s what you’d trained them for. Today you’re a Jedi first, not a healer. Still, it feels strange not to be in the med tent with them, poring over the wounded.
The trees are thinning, going from old, gnarled things to younger saplings. After several minutes, even those fall away, and the sudden lack of cover makes you feel like you’re standing on the edge of the world after spending so long encased in the thick forest. A wide clearing stretches before you. The thick grass comes up to your calves, but you have little time to appreciate the verdancy; the clash of lightsabers draws your eye. You hear Ahsoka gasp. Ventress and Obi-Wan block your path, locked blade to blade.
Ventress stands facing you, long and lithe, a predator. A red lightsaber in each hand, the hilts curved, and a wicked grin on her pale face. Obi-Wan has his back to the both of you, blue saber a whirl. Ventress’ eyes are set on Obi-Wan like she wants to devour him, as she casts blow after blow into his defense. He blocks again and again, but as they turn you can see his hair is plastered to his forehead with sweat. Other than that, he gives no sign of tiredness.
You halt in place, frozen with indecision. Ahsoka stops too, eyes darting between their duel and the battle beyond them. There’s no way to get around here without her noticing. Do you stop here and help Obi-Wan? Or take a different way around, and take longer to get to Anakin and the troops? Obi-Wan spares you a second’s glance, expression serious.
Leave, he says firmly, before closing himself off again.
The choice is made for you when the Sith locks eyes with you over her shoulder. “There she is!” Like she’d been expecting you. You clench your jaw, igniting your lightsaber. Between the three of you, surely you can manage to subdue her. Taking her cue, Ahsoka does the same.
“The new little Jedi,” Ventress continues. “Is she yours, Obi-Wan?” Almost teasingly, she aims a blow for Obi-Wan’s side, and he pushes it away.
“Quiet, Sith,” Ahsoka spits out, holding her weapon at the ready.
But Ventress ignores both her comment and her saber. Jumping back from Obi-Wan’s attack, she has the nerve to cross her arms, looking you up and down. You feel her Force slither up against your own, trying to pry for entry. Your shields are raised high, but Ventress seems to have found something she likes anyway.
“Oh, she is, isn’t she? Stars!” She lets out a high, tinkling laugh, dancing away again when Obi-Wan charges her. You can sense frustration roiling off of him now, low and dangerous like ozone hanging in the air before a storm. Ventress must feel it too; her grin is immense and crooked.
“Ahsoka --” you say in a low voice. “Get to the battlefield. We can handle this.”
“But Ziva--”
“That’s an order.” You don’t leave any room for argument, ignoring Obi-Wan’s glare. You know he doesn’t want you here either, but you can’t bring yourself to leave him alone. Every base instinct tells you to protect, defend, not caring if he needs it or not.
“Yes, run off, little Padawan,” purrs Ventress. “The grown-ups are talking.”
Ahsoka casts one look back at you before dousing her saber and sprinting to the battle site, raising her wrist to speak into her comm as she goes. Soon she’s no more than a speck, reaching Anakin and the troops in less than a minute. You feel a little better that she’s there with Anakin and the clones, with no Sith to threaten her.
“Now, where were we?” Ventress turns to you and her eyes widen. She dodges your blow, but only by a few inches -- perhaps she wasn’t expecting the little Jedi to strike with such ferocity.
“You were surrendering,” you say, going in for a harsh strike. Ventress meets it with her own weapon, fighting you off almost lazily. You’re forced back, and you stumble. Like you’re a piece of food she’s playing with. Darkness flows all around her, providing unnatural strength.
“Oh, I don’t think so,” she says. “I’m far more interested in...whatever this is.” Ventress gestures between you and Obi-Wan.
Careful. Do not underestimate her. Another quick dip in shields from Obi-Wan, a lightning-fast warning, then he’s gone again. He steps in close, defending your right side -- your non-saber hand -- and the Force thrums between you. A heartbeat. This is beyond your bond, something more ancient; the energy that flows between two Jedi fighting for the same cause.
“There’s nothing to tell,” you hiss, holding your ground as your green blade meets her red in a flash of sparks. Obi-Wan goes in fast on her other side, pushing her both with his lightsaber and through the Force. You see her take a step back, finally straining against two opponents.
But she doesn’t seem too upset about her predicament.
“You liar. A Jedi is not supposed to lie!” Her voice goes high, lip pouting in a mockery. “The Council would be scandalized."
Twisting her wrist harshly, Ventress rips your saber out of your hand. The blade ignites the grass at your feet when it falls, rolling down the gentle slope. You jump out of the way, while Obi-Wan and the Sith continue to dodge and strike and parry one another’s blows.
She glances at Obi-Wan, eyes dancing. "Is that why you’ve been so quiet, darling? Normally we have such heated conversations.”
His mouth is set in a hard line, jaw clenched so tight that you can feel it aching. “You’d be wise to stop.”
“Why, Kenobi? Have I struck a nerve?”
You wish she would just shut up. Shut up shut up shut up.
“Do you want me to tell her how flirtatious you are when she’s not around? Or have you given that up, just because you have a little pet? Oh, Obi-Wan. Such a gentleman.”
Obi-Wan’s breath is tearing out of him now with every blow as he tries and fails to keep a handle on his emotions. The high pulse of his frustration teetering on anger is static, raising the hairs on the back of your neck.
“Shut -- your -- infernal -- mouth.” Every word is punctuated with a strike, aggressive and wide-sweeping, deviating from the form he favors.
This, of course, delights her. “So irritated. It’s a good look on you.”
Lightsaber back in hand, you hurry to defend Obi-Wan’s openings. After so long fighting, and now Ventress’ cruel taunts, you can sense he’s losing focus. You slot your Force into his on instinct, past caring what this Sith woman thinks of you. You’re tired, angry, and just want the fight to be over. She’s the whole reason you’re on this planet. The reason the Shistavanens are suffering. Obi-Wan responds to you with more enthusiasm than expected, taking you in hungrily. Like he wants her to feel it.
And for a moment, it works. With your Force energies flowing like whitewater between you, your speed and energy lifts. For a blessed minute, Ventress can’t say a word, too busy holding back the Force that’s you and Obi-Wan. Side by side, a flurry of saber strikes, one on top of the other in a perfect rhythm. You’ve never seen Obi-Wan fight like this, and it’s exhilarating; he crackles in the Force, lifting you up, electrifying. Just when you thought he was getting tired, he fights harder, inspiring you to do the same.
You see sweat beading on Ventress’ bald head, and a flash of panic darts over her face. Brief -- so fleeting you might have imagined it -- but oh so satisfying. If you can actually manage to capture her, that’s one step closer to ending the war. Dooku’s right hand, out of business. Excitement makes your pulse pound even harder as she loses ground, her teeth clenched in a soundless snarl.
“This is so precious,” she spits, “but I'm due elsewhere, I’m afraid.” A button on Ventress’ wrist comm is blinking, and panic lights in your mind -- she’s signalled a transport. Obi-Wan sees it too; you have maybe minutes before it’s here.
“You’re not going anywhere,” you grit out. Despite the odds stacked against you, the low whirr of the transport ship already audible in the distance, you keep fighting.
Giving up isn’t an option. Not after everything you’ve gone through to meet her face to face. You will not let her slip away. Too many people have been injured or died for this mission for it to not have been worth it, to not have meant something. You feel overwhelmed with helplessness -- you can’t reach your own comm, and neither can Obi-Wan. Your only hope is to reach for Anakin in the Force and hope that he sends backup, now. Even that is such a longshot.
“Oh, that’s cute. Is that why you like her, Obi-Wan? She’s just so gullible.”
“There’s a stark contrast between the ability to comprehend one’s situation and the ability to believe that the best outcome is possible,” Obi-Wan shoots back. “You will find that Ziva Courtee has never once been gullible.”
The transport growls closer, the wind off of it starting to blow your hair back. She’s going to get away. It’s now or never.
“Perhaps not,” muses Ventress. “But she’s about to be a little less pretty.”
She raises her lightsaber to deal you a crippling blow, but you duck. Dropping your saber, you ram your elbow into her face, hooking your other arm around her wrist. She hisses, twisting like a wild animal when your bicep squeezes around her neck. She drops her sabers, writhing against the full weight you’ve thrown.
I’ve got her, I’ve actually got her --
Too late, you fail to notice she’s called one back to her hand.
Ziva, get back --!
CW starts here!
Obi-Wan’s warning is delayed, like slow motion, in your mind. Ventress’ remaining lightsaber cuts through your skin like breath through smoke.
You smell the skin of your shoulder burning before you feel it. Blistering, all-encompassing pain that surpasses anything you’ve ever known lights up your whole upper arm. You drop to the ground like a stone, clutching the smoking flesh, fingers scrabbling. Anything to make it stop. You’re screaming, screaming, but you can’t seem to stop. Staring at the sky, no idea where Ventress has gone or if she’s still there. There’s only pain, and the need to feel it end.
“Darling, darling, shhh --” Suddenly there’s Obi-Wan, hovering over you, holding you still. He’s caressing you through the bond, though even through your pain and terror you can sense his own panic. “Be calm, it’s fine, you’re fine --”
“Bacta,” you manage to say. “Do you h-have --?”
“Yes,” he says at once. “I’ve got it here, give me a moment --”
You know he doesn’t have stims, and you don’t have any left, either. This will be rough.
With a huge effort, you reach through the living Force, drawing strength from it. Pain is still pulsing from your shoulder, but you’re no longer on the edge of blacking out. With your other arm, you prop yourself up, Obi-Wan’s hand on your back to support the motion.
The sound of a bacta tube popping open registers, and you focus on your breathing, head turned away. Experience with wounds tells you that this is going to fucking sting. Gods, why does it hurt so much? She only grazed the skin. The sensation radiates down from your shoulder and into your arm now, making the whole thing feel useless. You screw your face up, breathing harsh. This is fine, this is fine this is fine --
“Ready?” he murmurs.
You nod, reaching for his free hand. He gives it, shifting to sit down beside you.
“Deep breath.”
That’s exactly what you tell patients so they don’t scream when you need to perform something painful. Regardless, you do as he says, sucking in as much air as you can. Two bacta-covered fingers circle the wound, coating the scorched skin. You know Obi-Wan’s being as gentle as he can, but the touch is still excruciating. The antibacterial sting of the bacta builds and builds, coupled with the raw burn of the wound. Tears spring to your eyes. Biting down hard on a knuckle, whimpers escape despite your best efforts. After several moments, the sensation from the bacta fades, but the pain of your wound dulls only a little.
“There. Done for now,” Obi-Wan says, tone low and reassuring. “I’m going to comm the medics to let them know we’re coming. Okay?”
You can only nod, and Obi-Wan pulls you to lean against his shoulder. “There we are, my brave one. It’s alright.”
Concentrating on his Force, his familiar scent tinged with sweat, his breathing, is far easier than trying to center yourself alone. So you let him hold you, out in the open where anyone could see if they were looking, and close your eyes. Gods, you’re so tired. You long to slip into unconsciousness, but the bright licks of sensation in your shoulder and arm refuse to let you.
A quiet crackle lets you know that Obi-Wan’s activated his comm.
“Anakin. Are you there? Come in.”
Between the comm and Obi-Wan’s breathing, you hear the faraway sound of the battle you’d sent Ahsoka to reinforce. Is it your imagination, or does it sound quieter?
“I’m here. What’s going on? Did you get her?” Anakin answers after only a few moments, another sign that they could be wrapping up.
Your stomach drops at his question. Did you get her? Ventress had gotten away and it was your fault. If you had been one second faster --
Obi-Wan sighs. “No. No, she got away. But I have another problem. Patch me over to the medic team, please.”
Anakin replies in an instant, urgency evident even over the spotty connection. “What’s the matter?”
“I’m fine. Commander Courtee is injured. She’ll live, but the wound requires immediate attention.”
“What happened?”
Obi-Wan growls. “Anakin --”
“Okay, okay, patching you through.” You can almost hear Anakin’s comeback. What? You said she’d live.
A hand strokes the top of your head soothingly while you wait. Obi-Wan’s touching you physically and mentally, trying to comfort you as much as possible. You must look awful. The smell of your skin is still lingering in the air, coating the back of your throat and making your stomach churn. Part of you feels like you’ve been sitting on this hill for hours, breathing in, breathing out, wishing Ventress had just chopped your arm off.
“General? This is Kix speaking. What do you need?”
“Commander Courtee has a severe lightsaber burn; both the skin and bone around the wound site are damaged,” Obi-Wan tells him.
Bone? That explains how badly it hurts. You haven’t looked at it yet -- and it’s probably time to assess the damage. Craning your head, your eyes dart to the ruined skin of your left shoulder. The skin is punctured in a perfect hole, blackened and raw blue at the edges. And, just as Obi-Wan had said, the wound goes down to bone. Through bone. Oh, shit.
Feeling lightheaded, you rotate your shoulder. You can see the ground below through the wound; Ventress’ saber went in one side of your arm and out the other.
Hole in my arm, hole through my kriffing arm --
“Ziva?”
Obi-Wan’s talking to you, trying to get your attention.
“Can you stand? It’s time to move.”
“‘Course,” you reply hoarsely, planting your feet in the grass.
You try to lift off, but everything goes sideways. Obi-Wan shouts in surprise but you can't seem to process the words. The Force snags you to keep you from falling, but it doesn't matter. Your vision narrows, fading at the edges until only a pinpoint is left. When even that disappears, you're left in darkness.
CW ends here!
-----
Glimpses of the world come to you, carried on snatches of consciousness. Slung over Obi-Wan’s shoulder, once again feeling like a sack of meilooruns. Someone touching your arm just above the saber wound. The telltale bounce and sway of a LAAT transport, troopers peering down at you. Anakin’s voice saying, gonna leave a wicked scar.
You’re alone when you can finally keep your eyes open for more than a few seconds, lying in a room you don’t recognize. Its walls are grey, the decoration sparse. Not brightly lit like your medbay aboard Obi-Wan’s Star Destroyer. You can tell that medical occupation isn’t the room’s intended purpose. Around you, the familiar sounds of a ship whirring its way through hyperspace greet your ears.
Stars, your arm is pulsing. Not the sharp, jagged throb it was before, but definitely still painful enough to notice. Someone’s had the sense to dose you hard with painkillers. Bracing yourself to look, you see the arm has been wrapped. A peek under the bandages shows the burnt skin has been scrubbed away, leaving the wound looking dark blue and angry. Now that you know what to expect, the hole straight through the bone doesn’t leave your head spinning, but it’s still unnerving to look at.
“Hello?” you croak. Then again, through the Force. Hello?
Obi-Wan’s Force is here, somewhere on this unfamiliar ship. A surge of calm soothes your rising panic. Good. For a moment, you thought you’d been captured during your blackout spell. But no; he feels like himself when you prod, if not tense, tired. He’s in the vessel’s cockpit, picking at his cuticles; an anxious habit you know he loathes but can’t seem to break. After only a moment of observation, he perks up, letting relief and concern lap against your half of the bond.
Good morning, dear one.
Did you stick me in a storage room? You ask, trying to ease your own tension about the unknown.
Of sorts. Hold on a moment; I’m coming.
With only thirty drips of the IV, Obi-Wan’s at your door. To your surprise, he wears only his tunics and tabards, not the armor you’ve grown used to seeing him in over the past few months. Such an entrance makes you feel a wave of nostalgia. As if the two of you are only out on some off-planet diplomatic mission, not caught in the middle of a galaxy-wide war.
He looks tired, worn. The lines around his eyes seem to have deepened since the last time you saw him, making him look older than his thirty-seven years. But he smiles when you look at him, sweet and deep and familiar, an expression reserved only for you. You lean forward, wishing you could get up and go to him, and he closes the distance and embraces you.
“Hi,” you say quietly, wrapping your good arm around him.
For a moment, Obi-Wan says nothing. You feel as much as hear him sigh, leaning heavily into your non-injured side. "Hello, little one."
The corners of your mouth quirk up as the one-armed embrace deepens, like he needs this, needs to know you're whole and well. Exhaustion tugs at the edges of his Force signature; it’s hard to tell when he last slept. This sparks a light of worry in you, but he brushes it aside in your mind, a wordless assurance that it’s nothing. You’re not so sure, but he continues to hush, the feeling as soothing as a hand stroking your back in small circles.
Out of habit, you reach out to smooth the lock of hair that falls out of place on his head. The simple gesture makes something in his chest ache, a wave of sorrow and intimacy and relief, roiling together in ways they shouldn’t.
“Where are we?”
“On a cargo transport, I’m afraid. This was the quickest way to Coruscant.”
Coruscant?
“Surgery,” you answer, connecting the dots, and Obi-Wan nods.
“Yes. You’ll need something to fill in the bone. They’ll be ready for you as soon as we arrive.”
“Are we going back to the Temple?” you ask, heart filling with unexpected hope.
Close to half a year has passed since you’ve been there, and homesickness floods you. It took so long to adjust to the Star Destroyers, with their plain, echoing halls. You long for the beauty of your home, with younglings laughing and running underfoot. The lush green of the gardens. The sense of togetherness that comes from being a Jedi community. The quiet thrum of hundreds of Force signatures, living together in harmony. You wonder if it’s changed at all, without you.
“Yes, for a time.” Obi-Wan’s hand goes to his beard, eyes far away. “I have business there as well.” He doesn’t elaborate, and you don’t push him. You sense that whatever that business is, it’s contributing to his feeling of weariness.
Guilt lances you when you remember the scene you’d left, mid-battle on Uvena Prime. You shouldn’t be this happy to return home when you don’t even know how that fight ended. Gods, you’d sent Ahsoka right into the thick of it.
“Uvena Prime -- did we win?”
He nods. “We did.”
“Anakin, Ahsoka -- ? The troops?”
“Tired but well.” Obi-Wan laces his fingers through your right hand, giving you a slight smile. “So many questions, darling. You ought to be relaxing.”
“I’ll relax when you do,” you retort, pushing yourself into a more comfortable sitting position. “What’s the matter? You feel like you haven’t slept in a week.” You reach up to cup his cheek, pleased when he lets himself lean into the comforting touch.
As much as he tries to quash it, a rare flash of vulnerability squirms through both of you, speaking of a deeper fear than he wants to voice aloud.
But “You gave us quite a scare,” is all he says.
“I’m sorry,” you say, swallowing. “For -- you know. Letting her get away. That was really stupid.”
Obi-Wan’s brow furrows. “Darling, I don’t -- no. That doesn’t matter.”
“Of course it matters --”
He holds a hand up, and you go silent, exasperated.
“What matters,” he continues, taking a deep breath, “is that you survived this. For a moment I believed you wouldn’t. Had her blade struck differently, you might not be here.” Obi-Wan traces the distance from your shoulder to your heart for emphasis.
“But Obi-Wan,” you insist. “Taking her down, capturing her, that would have been a huge victory for the Republic. Think of what we could have learned.” And now we still know next to nothing.
“I’m aware.” he pauses, like he’s trying to find the words to make you understand. “Please listen to me.” He takes your face in his hands, determined to make sure you’re looking at him.
“I would not want to live in a world without you in it, my dear one, regardless of whether we win this war or not.” Obi-Wan’s words come out slow and meaningful, and the quaver in his voice makes your own throat tight with tears. “I’ve forgotten how.”
You stay quiet, letting his words sink in. Obi-Wan closes his eyes, like what he’s going to say next is physically painful. “When she...I thought -- thought I’d lost you.”
“I’m sorry,” you say again, but now you’re sorry for being a reckless idiot, for making him so sad and worried. “I know you told me to leave, but I couldn’t -- couldn’t walk away, leave you alone with her. Wanted to protect you.”
“I’m capable of protecting myself,” he says, leaning in to rest his forehead against your own. “You know this.”
“Doesn’t mean I could leave you,” you say stubbornly. “Would you have been able to do it, if it were me?”
That earns you a brief huff of laughter. “No. No, I suppose not.”
“Then maybe you should forgive me.”
It’s hard to keep a note of playfulness from entering your voice. You haven’t been this close to him -- in non-lethal situations -- in weeks, and you easily fall back into your usual banter. His presence is as comfortable as your favorite tunic, the stitches worn and the fabric soft.
That’s the way Obi-Wan always feels to you, everything about him soothing when you need him the most. His voice, his hands, his arms around you. He knows just what you need. You know that you can be the same sort of balm for him, in times like this, and it makes you glad. Maker knows that the man runs tense even in the best of times.
“You’ll be forgiven when you’re whole and well. And when you promise not to throw yourself at any more Sith.” A gentle kiss lands on the corner of your mouth, his beard tickling, and you hum. “Now rest. We’re nearly there.”
“Stay?” you blurt out, unable to stop from asking. You’re not sure when you’ll see him again, after the ship lands on Coruscant. The thought of being separated again after being apart for so long already makes your chest ache.
Obi-Wan pulls back, gives you a tender look. Like you’re his favorite person, his reason. It humbles you to know that this man loves you with everything he has, that it shines through the Force even now, when you know you’ve scared and disappointed him.
“I think that can be arranged,” he replies.
You fall back into sleep the only way that feels comfortable now; with Obi-Wan close by.

star wars!!! or cr if it's been requested already
the first character i ever fell in love with: obied wans,,,,,
a character that i used to love/like, but now do not: i love. LOVE. L O V E. ahsoka. however it’s true what they say when they say too much of a good thing is bad. she’s turning into the star wars version of varric and i am, how u say, Tired Of It.
a ship that i used to love/like, but now do not: hilariously i simply do not care enough about shipping in star wars to have an answer for this one that’s not what i’m here for i’m here for the lightsaber combat and the jedi baybeeee
edit: wait i guess uhhhhh hanluke? i think there was like a solid three months where i liked it. it’s not that i don’t like it anymore it’s that i just don’t really think about it.... does this count
my ultimate favorite character™: [[GENERAL GRIEVOUS VOICE]] G E N E R A L    K E N O B I,
i understand the sith only in that i, too, am absolutely obsessed with obi wan kenobi
prettiest character: even as an obi wan stan i know the correct answer is the one, the only, padme amidala
my most hated character: kylenol ronald
my OTP: STORMPILOT....... anidala but like if it was well written. hanleia bc i’m not saying they were formative, but like,, rogueish snarker falling in love with someone terrifyingly competent.... im just sayin.........
my NOTP: please no with the ob/kin or the qu/obi. or the an/soka. no master/padawan pairs in general i am begging of you to cease and desist
favorite episode: YOU WERE MY BROTHER ANAKIN. I LOVED YOU.
saddest death: maul’s because it didn’t stick hDJKSG sequel trio’s character arcs may they rest in fuckin peace. oh and anakin’s in ep 3 + qui gon’s in ep 1. ALDERAAN ): satine’s in tcw because truly can we stop fridging these ladies for the drama. padme too bc ‘she lost the will to live’ like hUH??? HELLO?????? i know we ascribe her dying to palps draining her of life to sustain vader but c’mon man what kinda bullshit reason was that like we coulda gone with literally anything else like oh idk a sith lord fucking FORCE CHOKING HER when she was heavily pregnant + the emotional/physical/mental stress of watching a literal genocide happen + the shitty air quality of mustafar like c’mon with the “lost the will to live” smh
favorite season: do i look like i remember which clone wars arc happened in which season. i still haven’t finished watching tcw not because i don’t want to but because i keep forgetting that after a certain point it’s just sadness all the way down and im not ready 2 relive that (order 66) yet
least favorite season: see above. does the sequel trilogy (except for tfa aka ‘the calm before the storm’) count bc i really think that that should count
character that everyone else in the fandom loves, but i hate: kylie renner. i just think he could’ve been written better but that’s applicable to anybody in the last two movies. he was interesting in tfa i will say. but as he was simply a dollar store version of anakin......... please. as if kyle has the range to accomplish what anakin did. the disrespect of it all. also hux bc i get it he’s a white boy but.... really?
my ‘you’re piece of trash, but you’re still a fave’ fave: ANAKIN STOP PANAKIN
my ‘beautiful cinnamon roll who deserves better than this’ fave: god remember when padme was more than a love interest bc i’m trying to manifest this energy always
my ‘this ship is wrong, nasty, and makes me want to cleanse my soul, but i still love it’ ship: don’t look at me okay the scene where jango and obi wan have that heated conversation in aotc lives in my head rent free
my ‘they’re kind of cute, and i lowkey ship them, but i’m not too invested’ ship: i...... listen. listen obitine is cute but i really cannot get over the whole satine wholesale rejecting her culture like bro.....

T&K question for you: how much does little Ani understand what’s going on concerning the timeline? Cuz out of everyone he seems a little more aware of things. And how much do the Jedi know about him? I assume Ahsoka and Obi-Wan had to disclose what happened on Tatooine, but I can also see Ahsoka trying to keep his presence on the down low.
Hello! Thanks for stopping by!
As for how much Anakin understands, I think Ill steal a quote from Lily and say, “He understands too much and not enough at the same time.” Most of the time he’s just a normal little boy, prone to the same mood swings of your typical toddler. Usually he’s happy and the world is great and he loves everyone but especially his mum and Obi-Wan and ‘Soka and ‘Tine and Bo-kat and...
You get the idea. ;D
Anakin is aware that The Burning Man is out there and is that thing that exists separately from himself and Obi-Wan and Ahsoka. He doesn’t know who the Burning Man is and doesn’t really know where Burning Man exists but since he only sees the specter of Darth “I Make Bad Life Choices” Vader when he’s dreaming, Anakin thinks of him as a figure like Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny, an evil, murdery, goth Santa Claus.
The Burning Man is real, and bad news, but he’s not a direct threat to Anakin’s family, his growing collection of Jedi blankie robes and even if he were, Obi-Wan has promised to protect Anakin so he’s totally safe.
Little Dragon doesn’t really have the capacity to keep track of all the weird, odd, preternatural things he’s said. He’s very sensitive and we’ll learn more about that in Season Four but for now Anakin’s going with the flow and happy to talk to whoever wants to talk to him about whatever interesting thoughts pop into his adorable little blond head. Please don’t talk to Palpatine Anakin. I am begging you. I cannot handle the rage comments that would earn me.
And how much do the Jedi know about him?
The Jedi are aware that Shmi Skywalker has a son named Anakin, that they have applied for asylum with the Republic and are in the process of seeking citizenship within the Republic and the Mandalorian system.
That’s technically all the Order knows.
Plo Koon knows that Ahsoka and Obi-Wan developed a very close and intense friendship with Shmi and her son and he’s looking forward to meeting them both. Especially once Yoda spills the tea on Obi-Wan ditching him to run off and rescue Anakin from the worst afternoon nap in the world.
I assume Ahsoka and Obi-Wan had to disclose what happened on Tatooine, but I can also see Ahsoka trying to keep his presence on the down low.
Ahsoka’s ideal plan would involve essentially no one besides her and Obi-Wan and maybe Plo Koon, possibly Yoda, knowing about the full extent of Anakin’s abilities. I’m not sure how she plans on doing that given the fits he’s been having but the longer they can keep Anakin just another anonymous child in the galaxy, the better it will be for him.
And Ahsoka and possibly also Obi-Wan.
Of course, eventually Plo Koon IS going to meeting the Skywalkers and we’ll see what Everyone’s Favorite Adopted Space Dad and Clone Mentor has to say about Ahsoka’s valiant attempts to keep a metaphorical star going supernova in the form of a tow-headed toddler on the down low.
Maybe he will think it’s a great idea! Somehow I doubt it but you never know. Master Plo is clever. He’ll think of something besides, “This kid is hella powerful and we’re giving him Obi-Wan’s old robes to protect him from nightmares?! Can I get this kid some shielding or at least a stuffed animal to protect him? Would you like a stuffed Loth wolf, Little Ani? I think you deserve a stuffed Loth wolf. As your great-grand-master I have every intention of spoiling you rotten every chance I get, which will be many because I am one of Fishy’s favorite council members.”
Oh Plo... You are way too smart for my own good. >____>
I hope that answered your questions. Thank you for reading and stopping by for a comment and I hope you have a lovely weekend!

Join me in AU Territory for a few minutes, okay?
a.  So Obi Wan Kenobi basically ends up going, “NOPE. FUCK THIS NOISE.” and decides to raise baby Luke Skywalker himself.
(He’s not a true Jedi anymore; not when he can see all the mistakes he’s made with Anakin in full, excruciating detail.  Not when those closely held values of detachment and denial of emotions have led to fire and death and grief and...
No.  He will not turn.  He might not be a perfect Jedi, but he won’t turn to the Dark Side.)
b.  So he loves Luke with all his heart and baby Luke is basically the teeniest, most adorable ball of sunshine and light and his smiles are a balm on Obi Wan’s broken heart.
c.  Also.  Obi-Wan joins the Rebellion. Because hope doesn’t just lie in Jedi and the Light Side of the Force.   Hope lies in the people who are willing to live and die for their freedom, who are there to resist the Empire and its lies.
d.  Eventually, Obi-Wan finds Rex and Ahsoka and of course, that means baby Luke has more family members who will love him.  Maybe he’s not growing up as royalty the way Leia is, but he is equally treasured and precious to Uncle Rex and Aunt ‘Soka.
(Except Luke calls her Snips - just out of the blue - even though Obi Wan has never told him about this nickname and he doesn’t understand why Aunt ‘Soka suddenly catches him up in her arms and holds him tight tight tight.  He thinks he’s made her sad but Aunt ‘Soka tells him she can be his Aunt Snips and thus, Aunt Snips she became.)
e.  Obi Wan does not want to put the burden of stopping Vader on Luke’s shoulders.  It is monstrously unfair and neither Luke nor Leia should be burdened with the task of repairing their father’s mistakes.  This was Obi-Wan’s failure and it is his job to make it right.
f.  Vader chases after Obi-Wan’s ghost in various Rebel skirmishes - Jedi who mysteriously disappear and escape his finest soldiers,. Imperial shipyards being sabotaged, the best scientists of the Empire making successful defections.  He is always just one step behind, just one moment too late.  Vader’s rage knows no bounds.
(Vader never sees or hears about the child in Obi-Wan’s care.  His heart has already been buried in the royal tombs of Naboo, where Padme Amidala lies in her forever sleep.)
g.  There is a holo of little Luke and little Jyn Erso playing together.  Jyn has not smiled in months as her father and mother have desperately tried to flee the Empire, so that they would not be forced to keep working on its latest monstrosity.  It is Luke who has made her laugh again for the first time as they ran and chased each other.
h.  Luke’s first friend, first crush and his idol is the dashing Cassian Andor.
i.  Obi Wan finds healing and a new outlook/philosophy on the Force when he becomes friends with Chirrut Imwe and Baze Malbus.  He and Luke make the pilgrimage to the Holy City of Jeddah and while Luke is too young to understand, the ruins of its ancient temple make the child “feel good.”  For Obi-Wan, it is a peace he’s not felt in years.
j.  Some things are still meant to happen.  Obi-Wan and Vader clash over the years but each duel is inconclusive and both men walk away alive.  It takes years for the Rebel Alliance to gain steam.  Galen Erso still falls into the hands of the Empire.  The pilot Bodhi Rook still defects to the Rebels.  Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor still lead a desperate group to Shariff to retrieve the Death Star plans.
k.  The difference is that Luke Skywalker defies his somewhat overprotective Uncle Ben, having stolen a ship to Shariff to rescue all of his friends.  They barely make it off planet as the Death Star blows up its Imperial base, but Luke’s gotten to be a very good pilot and will spend his downtime happily chatting away with Bodhi Rook.
l.  Baze spends a few minutes yelling at Chirrut for having the “suicidal tendencies of an Alderaanian lemmingray” before kissing him stupid and it is the first good laugh that Rogue One has, even as they are all safe and sound and alive.
m.  Luke grins even though he knows he’s in deep trouble with Uncle Ben.  There is a transmission from him - Darth Vader is now in hot pursuit of those lost plans and he is chasing after the Tantive IV.  They will all rendezvous with Princess Leia on Tatooine.
It begins.  A long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...

Clone Wars        Slaves of the Republic
Chil-dren
     Children are slaves
Contin        -uing          on,                  That’s            Kin             da-
     Narrator
  (smarter than Anakin)
It hasn’t been for several years           though right?
  Z-y      ger-i         a-
Seriously         you guys co -exist       and have a giant council,
How did no one       notice this shit?
Also if they’re         Sep-ar            Tist-             -      they have a   govern     -ment-
So, is this some kind of   iron   curtain?
  Se-      riously?        -         How?
Also why is     Rex       or Cody?      —       Okay, seriously what is up with the    uniform?          -        Where’d you even get that from?
    There’s one dude,
And if it was from like a secret         stash of disguises?
Wouldn’t that be          several years          out of date?
Like,      What?           -        You’re better off not doing the    dis-guises
Also, geez a lot of assumptions like one       extremist made a claim and now the whole planet has the       burn           ...     Like seriously it’s in      char-        acter,
But this means Obi-Wan was only agreeing with her because he knows her personally
(’Her’ being            Man-             dal             Or              Ia             N       Duchess,’)
   Those are    ships
   What- music-
    Why?
 The music is just      nope,
Bor        der-        Ing-          On-         .        Seriously     why is he here?           .          What is with the          clothing ?
       Why?
Seriously, how is that going to           fool anyone,
         They’re-
I don’t like the lack of logic            already in this episode,
  Why?
‘you’ll be so distracted by that she won’t notice that we completely invaded her kingdom wearing the uniform (possibly 10 years out of date) of her guard and do not at all look like a species
Or anyone     she hi       -re         -d
(And somehow     won’t get stabbed to death)
  Oh,
   And       Ahsoka,
   Sl-ave
    Y-eah,
Also why is       she wearing face coverings?
Like, didn’t seem to be a       custom?
    Odd         Dis         guise
(I guess anything covering features would         give her less of a chance of being           recognized)
(Yeah but you know more about the emotions involved,             And probably would be better acting at it)
           Ma-ster
             No,
Damn      she just scorch     ed his teaching
         Boomers,             Don’t know                  shit
            Why is it                  blue?
Why is there a               dragon thing?                     -
I don’t know     Ah-soka why don’t you ask the     clone you’re work      -ing with,              Or remember how they raised you for the sole purpose of serving their system
     Fighting for it
      This
Oh great   did she tell you that information  ?
(Instead of         y’know        fixing the damn problem,”
       Yeah,            Sucks,
Oh they actually        brought that up,
Okay, I deduct that point           (Slight               ly,)                -                Invit            -ation                  -                 Fair
          Brig              -and
Again what makes them think that this is anything more than an        extremist ?
        Like, how is that        important?
       Halt,
     What,
     That          thi-ng,                ?
        Again           what?
           ?
Also yeah the uniforms look      significantly different?
       That mean              anything?
        Again
Oh, so those            birds are native ?
        Or, Other            Wise-
       Se-        riously           what?
Not exactly how         attraction works,           Which I think is          what they were trying to             imply there,
There needed to be more of a       look over-              Or                Him      taking off his hat               (For that                gasp reaction,)
Also yeah        a newly minted slave would totally                   bow,                      To their oppressor,
That’s                   something Anakin,                  should be doing,
Ah, did you not send from                        your-self?                          That would’ve been more of a rea-lis-      tic scene for        the drinks line,
Ha-           tred             -          Yeah no this is a really bad       job,
Yeah, there’s no way       she’s falling for this,
‘This is he      he’s cute so I’ll play along,
There’s, no other way this     isn’t ending with a dagger to a neck,
      Wa- rrior
Oh she’s      talking about Ana                             -kin
  Stock,
Again he literally sent you the    whole population of the planet,
So, I don’t think he was that       specific,
You know   it’s a good thing         Ahsoka’s as an adult            Because this would be highly      disturbing with any other      alternative..
Also I guess that kind of makes sense as           the shock wearing off
but she definitely wouldn’t be that wild,
     Mo-
     Pro-cessed
Yeah there’s      no way lady is falling for this,
That’s     got dragged into it        temperament,
     Point,          It’s           Not-
It’s         not          fitting        ‘ I know you’re         bull-     shitting me,”
    Her,
Yeah there’s      no way,      she’s falling for this,
(Anyone   would probably have a let’s see      where this leads,
   This-            Isn’t             It-
You know this flir-            ting is better than anything that happens with    Padme-
Like     it’s at least got the tone       -right
     Good
       But also no
She’s significantly older than him and...  toxic,
I’m going with     tox        -ic          -         Also- yeah
Anakin is definitely a lot better       at this-
Ah-       soka          -            Not          even bothering        with it,
      Ai
Again,       Why is this so much better than anything with       Pad-me,
Like it’s toxic          -     but it holds them both accountable,
Generally a lot      better writt          -en
(Hopefully they were going for they don’t actually love each other      they just like breaking the rul-es)
Because-       I can’t see it as any       -thing          else          Now,
   (Or even then,)
     Da-          Mn-
  W-e
Yeah dude      it’s clear that she’s faking,
   What’s a        Hutt?
   Mm
  What?
Also yeah no one questioned them about their     human appearance-
   Why-
 Ob-vious
Also, yeah what are they even doing     bury-ing them alive,
         Why-
Obi-Wan acts a lot more sus instead of just staying down in the pit with him under the guise of screwing with a prisoner
Also yeah      I can’t blame him,
           She’s an adult
  Bru-tal
     Tox          -ic
Also,           You          figured out the price between you two                That   should be     a lot more dramatic,
     They’re adults.
       Gi-
Also yeah        no way she’s falling for that           -                 Also yeah   where did his name come from?            -          Like did they give an           alias at some point?           -         Cause is Lars just seems to come out of the air-
[they told them that they knew said dude, Anakin talked with the queen but I can’t- but he didn’t mention her name-
      Me
     Again this is pretty good
though the tone did drop there a little,
   She’s        screwing with him-
Yeah,          I’d be worried about him drinking the Kool-Aid right about now         too
[he already drank the Generational Overstep one           ]
    We-ll
   P-
  Holo-
What       -       Sl-        aves        -       Uhm,
Sucks          . .      that he decided to enable that shitty system
    Accoun-    tability is always better,
But if he dies the system of his        own making it his own fault,
      ?
      -  also yeah     now we’re sussing out the human targets,
         Ye-ah
Yeah       no she’s definitely fucking with them,
Also you’re telling me they didn’t notice him from the       white republic ass       robes?
(Or did they just          give that to him?)
     Sub-mission
     Yes      she’s right,
Mhm, loving this ro-     ast of Kenobi right now,
It’s still said by a         worse enable
     So not too sweet
      But it      hits a spot,
       Any          way,
      Aight
Well isn’t this Anakin’s fantasy,     finally his anger out on his abuser              (Vent-ing)
           Hm,
           Yea-
             O-k
             Ok
            Seriously that is damn light
            Call-ing him a                   boomer
Then they’re both enabling old Gen                     So pretty past the                  redemption mark,
                 But,                    Still,
Cath,arsis      is nice,
B-ack
 W-h
Yeah,        see      she      knew          it      was        bull,         shit-
    D-ie
   Wh-elp-           -          A more realistic relationship                   (toxic)
              High                  -                  Well
(Also when did the      clone get back?)
        Well,
Also R2-D2 has the capabilities of a           projectile              launch                -er                  -               G           -uard                -              A-i
        Whe-
       Whe-n?
       Okay?
      D-amn
      A-gain
Exp-ression going a little          Looney Tunes        the-           re-
(I should be able to read           their ex-           pression,”
]
 How?
  Did      that?
She wasn’t wearing a     shock collar,
And we didn’t see her gets sent to processing with that kind of thing would be implemented,
   Ser-
Oof           -          Rex?           -        Freckin         down,
     Oof,
   W-h-         elp
   Again     emotion?
        [what’s              the           emotion?]
      W-h                  Oh-
I thought that was         pretty neat~
       Th-em
      Da-mn
Also,             friends,         His       poisonous        en-abler          who        groomed          him          to            be          a child soldier,        And someone from a        younger       generation,         Who he groomed to be a child soldier,           Great         freck           ‘in           friends,               W-
Hey, that’s              some thing,              Mis-             s-             ion             .
Again has anyone been taking the mission        seriously            .         ever?         ..         At any point?
Anakin‘s been hecking around with this                      Obi-Wan decided screw            Subtlety, and went for             one guy,
And Ahsoka’s been been            be               grud               G                    Ing                        Ly                       -                      Putting                         up                      with                        it-                        ...                    Gen                          eral                         . . .                          Ser                          -vant                              -                                 Okay the tone just went into                               gar-                                 g-                               ,ling                               marbles,                                  And the                                   expression                                          is                                   neutral                                     (at                                      best)                                                                            What                                         the                                         hell?
(Seriously why whenever Anakin‘s unfortunate childhood            it turns into gargling marbles?
Like I can’t even tell what               emotion that is
Either way    it’s just not how people talk,           Voice possibly getting         lower,          Not         what th             is- is
She is right - he has enabled a terrible system and continue(s - to be Obi- wan and the Council’s         bitch         (Non   identification          term,)
       Me
      Power
 Hey, no     difference from Obi-Wan,
      Great,
Here,    The Boomer bait     Obi-Wan gave me,     Promising a place in      their screwed up           Future,       That I traded it then          Future            Now             Present              Ahsoka      ’s           (Chance)         at          A            Non-       (Completely)        Feck      -e-d              Child                 hood                 For,                  Thank       -s
   (Totally not a servant)
Despite the      very conditional nature of         that agreement
Also I real-ly like what they did there,      Anakin not being a slave         (Like he       said,
      Like in childhood)
Now just being        a willing          servant,
Really showing the         Modi    -cum      Of         Diff        er        en         ce         Be-tween    Being unwittingly       ordered         into it,                  And      (continued)     choosing to           enable it
       Fri-en          d-s
Well that’s better for Ahsoka than literally anything Anakin and Obi-Wan have done for her
Con-stantly              putting her in harms way-
(Not giving a shit       about the child soldier thing)
          Great
          Why?
I don’t   honestly don’t get the idea behind the get up
As seen none of the   other     [of her     species]      Is     wearing     similar   get up
 Just-      doesn’t        add       up,-
  Aight
   Seems-         fine-
More hassle to get        food and water and        everything else up there to be        quite honest,
Also seriously what is up with the wildlife?
Like we have the cute        squishy things?
   And then        these?
    How?
   Promised
Also,      That really     didn’t sound        too malicious         ...      Don’t get me wrong I think      I know what they’re trying to imply,
But dude here’s suffering from          Clovis syndrome,
Aka the tone just isn’t       carry          -ing           —-           There doesn’t seem to be any   malician     .behind what he just said,
Like dude sounded like he said      “mine” as in mine for       board game night,
“sk         -ug,”         Ok,     that’s Malacian      but it’s not the        right        kind,
       That just sounds          mildly offensive
                Non                    committal
Doesn’t really connect with    the tone of the previous sentence,
Which was         like;           ‘The queen has promised you to me       how do you feel about it?’
That, just coming            out of nowhere,
         Not carrying
        W-help
         A-         Ight-
         Not even             -consistent
           Like seriously,
       If you’re going to do a flat character              like that;
At least try to do it                consistently;          Like dude went from “lust”, (I’m assuming it seems more like self-  conscious/doubt) to me then off-hand        Passive aggressiveness, then       Disciplinary,         Without so much          Of a pre-            empt       (Not        prompt,)                We never saw that        conscious          -ness               turn                to           aloofness,               Then cold rage,              pushing the button                   no shift,                     Only                impromptu                    jump,
Shame would’ve been interesting if Ahsoka had a Clovis like friend,
            (I don’t know                  his age,)
                Again,
                Re-action?
What am I supposed to feel          what, emotion is that
       I have           no clue,
      Well,         Why?
   [Why-
       ?
     Who is        this guy?
      A slave           owner/buy               -er?
        Whel-
        We’ve       found them
No you were brought to them            -by force-
Also where is the dude              that was just in a chair?
            Where?
[also wow for Rex this must feel a                return ho                              me-
    Oh-but-
     Okay, not gonna          question it,
        Jedi
         -             Also yeah that was the question what their education of their youth actually is like
   *Groom            Ing
Like the      propaganda        must be         damn          thick,
As well as         the child abuse                    (If this is the state of society and seeing how they can see another         adult human being              (Sen             -tient)                 Yeah there’s no way those kids are in good condition,
Also this dude comes off as such a              doof,
Like not even remotely intim-              idating-                      -                  Well,                   Fuck
(Also yeah I’m pretty sure the         queen is going to be real fucking pleased that you just wasted a bunch of        stock
Of a trade that is just getting back up and running again
Also yeah     Kenobi really fucked this one up      -     His job to find them-       Fecked that      up-          -          Atten       -tion               -           Worst. way to get        attention         ever,
      You
See, they’re specifically doing this to        mess with him-          -            De-fy
And Obi-wan was then     allowed to wander off,
While dude     spun the wrong way in his chair,
      Wh-
      Wh-at
      Why?
     Rom-antic     ?
Lady that’s like pointing and saying you were once an abuse victim weren’t you?
    Like, very likely
With the council, the clones            At least two slave               states                 (Planets)
I think the only way you could get                 “vagu-er”                       Is saying                 child soldier,                       Sl-ave
Being a slave      doesn’t make you       naturally virtuous,
With      abusers,      it makes you pissed off
      Others,          Ty-pica               ll           y            Fine,
   But again that’s not guaranteed,
Ex-abuse victims can still enable the abusers-
       And-
[There’s just a lot of problems with this that I’m kind of     gargling,]
Point being you can’t tell      something like that,
And      suffering doesn’t make you more       virtuous,
(Just means normal human decency stand out a lot more in the   darkness of degeneracy,
        Any,            Way,
   Groom         Ing
    Oh
So they are actually       fram-          ing that it’s a bad thing,
     Good, cause it is
  Obi-Wan is a grooming frick
And Ahsoka is a child robb         -ed of her child-            hood-
By the council and implied to be              by Anakin              (Who did nothing and enabled it long past the point of        return,)
      Self-
And literally        every-one             else                 (Inc-luding              the abuser        as we just saw)
Self-           destruction            (and           enabling                it)             is a shit time,
Be            Absolutely nothing besides a toxic enabler      upon a pile of rubble,
   It’s damn       useless,
    Oh, that’s almost           flirt              Ing-
That’s really dramatic music        for FLYING Frogs,
        Stay
Again, he’s not       terribly opposed to this,
    -it
Again, that came out of nowhere
Like Anakin slavery hangups are the equivalent of an           on and off switch
     * Note, a reason.                To,              Slavery is bad         objectif             ication of other humans is bad,               Don’t do it,
I called them hangups just to denote the fact            that there never anything,                  im-portant,                consistent or some thing he sticks by,
Being perfectly fine with this        flirt      -ing        off the clock
With a sl             -aver             -             Only occurring at random with no reuniting theme
And literally just sounds like the writers,             Shou-ting-               “ Hey guys remember Anakin was a             slave?”
Yes and while that can cause            rush-es of             e-motion
            None of that                 is shown,
We don’t see Anakin clenching his fist and it building up that resent       -ment-
We don’t see him fighting              the idea,                 that the            Jedi just use him,                 Like his               old slave                master-
                We don’t       see any emotion,
              It’s just dull
              Not like an emotional dull
              Like an unemotional one,
                            There’s not        h-ing
Which is a shame because there should be a lot of emotion here-
         And there’s not-
     She’s          Right,
And Anakin is an          inhuman        abomination,            That can’t even           manage an emotion,
(Might want to try          someone else)
        Really?
Because he hasn’t managed a single emotion or       conflict this entire time,
Unless you mean biologically complicated in that case yes how the feck does this man work?
Adult people are             very emotional,              Dude can’t          even manage a bit of it
   - His expressions        are damn atrocities
      (Of logic!)
     (And        ,empathy)
   Again      Emotion,
Well I will give this episode the benefit,        It’s the episode that got things the            closest thing to right             (Greivous’s lair,           Not          withstanding)                In terms of tone,
       Near the middle
(Before promptly          coming crashing down to the ground,)
Unfortunately considering the rest of the episodes that isn’t really high  praise
The thing about tone is I need to be able to understand what emotions your char-acters are feeling and being por-tray-ed in about every scene,
       And,           You can’t cut corners
And hav-ing switching emotional        moods            With             out              pre            empt              or under-              standing,
        Still passing the threshold of being a              good story;
-Co-herent tale that can be followed
          - doesn’t normalize        problematic or self-destructive                   Behavior
         However not one of a fun story;
Leaving me with the persistent fee-      ling of chew-            Ing metal
Mildly      irritating,        Clunky,          And not the least bit entertaining        or of any value                 (Much)
That it has yet to          rise above

OKAY OKAY OKAY WAIT
what would I do without you by drew holcomb and the neighbors just came on and I’m having tHOUGHTS I’M GONNA FRANTICALLY TYPE THEM AS THE LYRICS COME UP AHHHHHH
OKAY MAIN THOUGHT IS DISASTER LINEAGE AFTER ORDER 66, BUT SPECIFICALLY AHSOKA AND OBI-WAN? MAYBE? WE’LL SEE IF IT FITS
sometimes I wake up with a sadness / other days it feels like madness / oh, what would I do without you - sCREAMING BC THAT IS AHSOKA AND OBI-WAN AFTER ORDER 66 gAHHHHHHH
when colors turn to shades of grey / with the weight of the world at the end of the day - again!!!! that is ahsoka and obi-wan!!!! ahsoka with the rebellion, obi-wan with luke!!!!! ahhh!!!!!!
a decade goes by without a warning / and there’s still a kindness in your eye / amidst the questions and the worries / peace of mind always takes me by surprise - okay so THIS LINE RIGHT HERE is what made me stop and go AHSOKA AND OBI-WAN????!?!?!?! and start the song over bc THIS. THIS IS THEM IN A REUNION. a decade later, they meet and!!! I feel like this is ahsoka saying this to obi-wan (still a kindness in obi-wan’s eyes, peace of mind takes her by surprise) but honestly it could go either way. and!!! amidst the questions and the worries bRO that is their initial reunion just questions upon questions about each other
you’re still standing by my side - :’))))))))) brb sobbing
a guilty soul and a worried mind - bro. this is obi-wan to a t AKJSLD;ASDK
so you got the morning, I got midnight / you are patient, I’m always on time / oh, what would I do without you - it’s not a perfect fit and I feel like I often think of opposing things/two sides of the same coin type of stuff like this as anakin and obi-wan, but I think it could also work for obi-wan and ahsoka
you got your sunshine, I got rainclouds / you got hope, I got my doubts / oh, what would I do without you - now THIS. THIS one is obi-wan and ahsoka. ahsoka is very much sunshine & hope to obi-wan’s rainclouds and doubts, especially after O66. but also very much during the war too
okay so it’s not a perfect fit but like!!!!!!! !!!! them!!!!!! it’s also weird bc this is on my supernatural playlist??? so to suddenly associate it with ahsoka and obi-wan was like ??!?!?!??!?!?! but!!!! THOUGHTS. I HAVE THEM

Tumblr media
@city-of-fae LISS OKAY I STARTED ANSWERING YOUR ASK AND TUMBLR GLITCHED AND ATE IT I’M SO SORRY UGHHHH BUT ANYWAY
!!!!!! YOU ARE CERTAINLY NOT THE ONLY ONE!!! OBI AND SOKA CONSUMES ME SOMETIMES AND THIS IS ONE OF THOSE TIMES!!!! I LOVE THEM SO MUCH YES!!!!! and thank you so much for the ask that tumblr was very mean to!!!!! let me go listen--
the song in question
OH MY GOD
ONE SECOND I'M JUST OVER HERE SOBBING GAHHHHHHH THIS SONG!!!! oh MAN this song in the context of obi-wan and ahsoka????? AND POST-ROTS????? GODDDDDD OKAY YES YES YES ABSOLUTELY LISS YOUR MIND--
awake, awake, you children bold / take hold of all your books and fold / the corners, they warned us / a storm is coming on
this is an AMAZING start to this song given the context of post-rots. it really gives me the feeling of yeah waking everyone up and frantically whispering get up, get up, grab your stuff we have to go which just gahhhh yes reminds me a lot of obi-wan and ahsoka having to leave behind everything in the wake of anakin's "storm coming on." and, of course, "children bold" is very ahsoka and obi-wan would tell her to take her books that's so :'))
what do you mean you've lost your scarlet welly boots? / do y'know what they cost? / wear a raincoat or it'll soak you to the bone
okay again, I can see this scene so clearly in my head, they're rushing around searching for all their stuff and ahsoka's like "obi-wan I can't find my boots" and it's all very much parent scolding child in a hurry/panic but then still turning around and saying "make sure you wear a raincoat, here take mine" and again that is very much obi-wan and ahsoka to me!!
and I love you, don't you know / that I'll be with you all along, as long as you are kind / to those who are not strong and cannot find their scarlet welly boots
I feel like this really captures an essential of obi-wan's teachings to ahsoka: be kind, help everyone you can, remember when you were in that situation, "teaching is a privilege, it's part of a Jedi's responsibility to help train the next generation," etc etc and also just the "I love you, don't you know / that I'll be with you all along" godddd thinking about that with obi and soka is mAKING ME SOB
cause when it's cold / I'll wrap my scarf around you / and when it's hard / I'll place your head into my hands
yes. yes yes yes yes this!!! this right here is obi-wan and ahsoka!!!! I'm sobbing
and when you scream that it's not fair / it's like I've gone off to the coast / left you behind just standing there / pretending not to see your ghost / if only you could hear my voice / but you are screaming far too loud to hear me swear / just because I left doesn't mean I'm not still there
goddddd okay yes, I think this can be seen through a few different contexts, definitely post-rots and also deception (oUCH OUCH OUCH) like you said, and also I think this works for post-s5. just all the times where obi-wan and ahsoka were separated and this is just. ouch ouch ouch. but yeah this part with deception??? such a good angle, ahsoka screaming it's not fair, but obi-wan saying I'm still here. ugh. pain
I get to watch you grow up now / and make me proud / make all of the mistakes that make me laugh / oh, darling, lord, how you make me laugh / . . . / cause you were always strong / when you were young, you'd kick things just to see if they would fall
I'm sobbing. liss, I'm sobbing. this! this is so obi-wan looking at ahsoka when she was a padawan. I think she really really brought a source of light and hope to both his and anakin's lives during the war and their characters are just so good together bc she's a lot like anakin ("you'd kick things just to see if they would fall"), but not nearly as weighed down as either of them (at least not until the end), and like. they are just :'))))) they! are! father! and! daughter!!!!
they said "that girl, she's wrong" / but I'll stick up for you / even though you haven't got a clue
the wrong jedi. that's all I'm gonna say. just. the wrong jedi
actually, that's not all I'm gonna say KJASJKDLADKLJS bc I have a lot of conflicting feelings and thoughts about obi-wan's involvement in the wrong jedi arc and since we got basically nothing in the actual show (because d*sney is a bunch of cowards) it all sort of has to be conjecture. but anyway, I think that obi-wan did stick up for ahsoka as much as he could and I really want to believe that he was right beside anakin defending her and like really trying to prove her innocence, but what we're shown in the show is. not that and I've seen a lot of really like solid and well-informed posts about how a big part of obi-wan's characterization is that he is someone who lets go and I can't find the one I'm thinking of rn but also like. idk it is shown how conflicted he is during that arc. plus, how much could they have even taken obi-wan's opinion into account bc it's nearly impossible for him to be unbiased?? like he's her grandmaster!! idk and that is NOT what this post is about ajskdkljdsa, but basically. yes. yes this is obi-wan in the wrong jedi.
and I'm so proud of you
screaming, crying, throwing up. GOD I LOVE THEM SO MUCH
and when you scream "I'm not alright" / and throw my picture at the wall / "you were supposed to be my light / and keep me safe against them all / how could you leave me here?" you'll scream / . . . / you'll say "I've been so scared / you left me here behind / do you not care? / how the fuck am I supposed to carry on without you here?"
this! this is so so so much deception, post-s5, post-rots, all of this!!!! this is ahsoka confused and angry and hurt and betrayed and homesick and I'm going to SOB. I don't have much more to say about this line, just. yes. yes yes yes this
you'll miss me, oh jesus christ, you'll miss me / just as much as all those years ago, and you'll look up at the storm
okay yes this is definitely reminding me of post-rots ahsoka looking back on deception and post-rots obi-wan looking back on the wrong jedi both of them missing the other, both of them knowing what it feels like to lose each other and be separated and just having that happen again and again :(((
just when you're about to give up every hope you have, you turn around / perched by the stairs, someone's gone and left behind / a brand new pair of scarlet welly boots
this hits me SO HARD. it is so so indicative of obi-wan and ahsoka still being around post-rots even though they both think the other is gone (which is just. so heartbreaking I can't) but they both still have their memories of each other and what they've taught each other and I think that they really do live on in each other's lives after revenge of the sith and they both have the task of keeping anakin's memory alive and ensuring safety and happiness for other people and while their lives and missions are very different, they both are still trying to do the same thing and they still have that connection and I just. I sob.
I love them so much and this song is perfect for them thank you for introducing me to it!!!!!! I will never be over this song with them gOD

Me again. I'd actually really like to hear your thoughts about fine on the outside by Priscilla Ahn besides the obvious bc well this song is just very fitting— did you have any specific thoughts? And cassiopeia by anju? Mostly coz I didn't know that song before :')
!!!! of course!!!! I would love to, thank you so much for the ask!!!!! :'))))
okay, so fine on the outside first!
I mostly put this song on there bc of this section:
so I just sit in my room after hours with the moon / and think of who knows my name / would you cry if I died / would you remember my face?
just because like. after ahsoka left the order I can just imagine how sad and heartbroken and just homesick she felt and it's so sad!!! and we don't really get to see that in the show, and I feel like this line is specific to obi-wan and ahsoka because I think it's obvious that she knows that anakin still supports her and loves her and he stood by her the whole time. but with obi-wan, at least to her, it doesn't seem like that so much. and having to leave everything behind with seemingly no word or support from obi-wan, who was very much a partial master to her too??? idk I just feel like ahsoka would be questioning everything after she leaves and especially obi-wan's part in it.
but as for the rest of the song, I like to think that while, yes, anakin and ahsoka are extremely similar, she's also similar to obi-wan in some aspects and I feel like this song represents some of those similarities pretty well, specifically in their similarities growing up! like they both had challenging times as initiates and their starts to being a padawan, and idk I just like to think that their childhoods were similar. I'm not super familiar with obi-wan's history in canon, but I feel like both he and ahsoka were fiery little upstarts that maybe didn't have "that many friends growing up" and I definitely feel like they both had to learn to mask their inner turmoil, especially in regards to anakin. and also bc they've been through a lot!!! and they both had to just be "fine on the outside" bc they had jobs to do and they wanted to support anakin, especially towards the end and after where he fell apart, but they had to continue on and be "fine on the outside." I also think it's super interesting to think about them talking to vader in the section I mentioned above (so I just sit in my room . . .) and to think about how much of anakin is still in there--think of who knows my name (vader in rebels with the "Ahsoka." YIKES) / would you cry if I died / would you remember my face? so yeah! that's that for this one :')
and now for cassiopeia by anju!
this one, like fine on the outside, is sort of about the vibes of the song that make me think of obi and soka, but there are some specific lines.
i'm just a little confused / what to think of us
this is so ahsoka post wrong jedi. just like confused and betrayed and angry, but still sad to leave and missing him and just! especially coupled with the lines before that saying "for once in my life i don't know how to feel" as in, for once she doesn't know how to feel about them bc she never imagined that this would happen, it's always "we'll be fine as long as we stay together" and "our padawan" so it's just really startling & confusing to suddenly have this happen and not know what to think.
am I dreaming / is it even you / cassiopeia?
so for this, I'm thinking their reunion again. the disbelief and surprise and slight doubt of is that really you, are you really alive, am I dreaming? would 100% be them if they saw each other again
constellate our fears with cinnamon sticks / let's connect the stars / help me hold the heavy parts of a heart / feel me from afar
I also just really like all the space & star references in this song, which gives me very much obi and soka vibes and also bc star wars lol but anyway! with this line, I feel like it shows how obi-wan sort of helped ahsoka as a padawan in a war, and anakin did too obviously, just the "help me hold the heavy parts of a heart" really speaks to obi and soka I think :')
many moons of waiting on a steady sun / now I freeze in fear / merge out fingernail horizons / swear you'll catch my tears / maybe sometime you can teach me / how to hold on to your hand / maybe next time when I'm bleeding / I can call across the sand
this!!!!! this part gets me again with reunion thoughts!!!!! obi-wan waiting, even knowing that it'll never happen, just the slightest bit of hope that he'll see her again, the "now I freeze in fear" I can literally see it in my head that's THEM REUNITING AHHHHHHH. and just like! the softness of this bit and like relieved, incredulous crying and just!!! this is them reuniting!!!! and I feel like the second part they could both be saying to each other, "maybe sometime you can teach me . . ." and "maybe next time when I'm bleeding . . ." maybe they don't have to be alone anymore!!!! and! "call across the sand" ajklsdkljas I know that's extremely literal but still!!!! they found each other again!!!!
and yeah just like, I feel like this is a nice obi and soka line throughout their entire relationship, including a reunion (if they had one):
am I dreaming / is it even true / cassiopeia / show me what I'm meant to do

Text
angstpril day 8: music to my ears
hastily-written fic I didn’t proofread, my beloved pt II
(tw: implied torture, but nothing descriptive/graphic)
“Why aren’t you screaming?”
It was a stupid question, an immature, unbalanced one that would’ve had her Master reprimanding her afterwards. Luckily, her Master wasn’t here and so Ahsoka was feeling particularly reckless.
The man looked up at her—eyes still holding that look. That pitying, sad look that set Ahsoka’s teeth on edge. His face was all hurt betrayal, longing for the past, etc. etc. Ahsoka hated it. She hated him.
“You should be screaming.”
His voice was rough as he said, “Sorry to disappoint.”
Ahsoka stepped closer, trying to keep herself under control. “If you still have enough energy to be sarcastic, then surely you can tell me where they are.”
“Where who is?” he asked with raised eyebrows. “Like I told you earlier, my dear, I don’t know anything.”
Ahsoka bristled. “Don’t call me that.” Her hands tightened instinctively around a lightsaber hilt, the familiar energy of the crystal helping to calm some of her agitation. She had to keep her cool if she was ever going to do this. Once again, she leaned forward, her hand out, calling on the Force to pierce into the man’s mind. What are you hiding in there?
But once again, she could only brush surface thoughts, facts and intel she already knew. Things he knew she knew. He was being purposely defiant.
Ahsoka shouted, curling her hand into a fist. The man’s eyes widened as she choked him, his hands fighting against the manacles fastened on the edge of the chair. Just as his face reddened and his eyes began to flutter, Ahsoka stopped. She was doubly frustrated now—not only was he not cooperating but she could tell her little persuasive tactic had failed. And it hadn’t eased any of the simmering anger in her either.
“You always were so infuriating.”
The man slowed his coughing and spluttering. “You always were persistent.”
Her shoulders tensed. “Don’t speak like you know me. You don’t. You knew her.”
“Ahsoka—”
“Stop!”
That sad, heartbroken look again. Ahsoka got the feeling—the infuriating, gnawing feeling—that if his hands were free, they’d be opening for a hug. She ignored the way the back of her mind ached. The tiny part of her that was still the other one raging and fighting against where Ahsoka had caged her. Shut up. This man’s screams of pain would cover up her own, like all the rest had. Maybe then the other girl would finally be quiet. Maybe then she could actually forget.
“The only things I want to hear from you, Obi-Wan, are either the information I want to know, or screaming.”
The Force tinged with fury and anticipation.
“Or both. Both is good too.”
