💥AT LEAST 24 KILLED IN TWO BOMB ATTACKS ON CAMPAIGN OFFICES DURING PARLIAMENTARY ELECTIONS IN PAKISTAN💥

At least 24 people were killed in two bomb attacks on Wednesday targeting campaign offices as contentious parliamentary elections are held in Pakistan.

According to reports, at least 24 people were killed and 25 others wounded in the bomb attacks, which targeted a campaign office in Pishin, a district belonging to the Balochistan province, and a second bomb attack targeting the offices of the Islamist party Ulema-e-Islam-F (JUI-F) in Qilla Saifullah, also in Balochistan province.

No one has accepted responsibility for the attacks at the time of publishing.

The bombings came amidst contentious parliamentary elections in Pakistan, a country that has long been splintered by separatists belonging to the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) which the US has designated a terrorist organization. The group has warned Pakistanis against voting in the elections, calling for a boycott.

Pakistan has been in a state of political crises ever since the duely elected Prime Minister, Imran Khan, was expelled from office by corrupt politicians through Lawfare, and has since been arrested and charged with a long list of crimes, which many in Pakistan see as illegitimate.

lmaoooo okay so my brother (very good kayaker) was kicking around the royal gorge in 2021 for the yearly release and his group of kayakers ended up juuuuuuust ahead of dane jackson, who is the best kayaker in the WORLD (his dad also owns jackson kayak, one of the major whitewater kayaking manufacturers in the sport. not relevant to the story but he annoys me bc of it). so my brother had SHREDDED his shoulder ligaments playsurfing this big hole on the ottawa river in 2019 BUT he kept paddling like an idiot even though he absolutely needed surgery (he got it last winter the surgeon was like WHAT. ON EARTH.) so when he dropped it over this big ass waterfall and got weirdly pinned in a cave he had a hard time rolling up/popping his skirt bc he dislocated his shoulder immediatelyyyyyy. anyways he got unpinned bc he had some buddies running safety but dane jackson posted a video some months later of his footage from the trip like. troubleshooting how to save my brother (who was. fine at that point anyways. like in pain but not pinned) which is SO FUNNYYY to me but pissed my brother OFFFFFFF. like dane is monologing about how he will try to get my brother's boat out of that cave like a HEROOO while my brother is fully out of the water with all his gear getting his arm popped back in. dane also does NOT know who my brother is so every time they meet he POINTEDLY re-introduces himself LMAO

Tyre Nichols was beaten by police in Memphis earlier this month and died a few days later from his injuries. A video was released depicting a three-minute attack and no medical help for twenty minutes afterward. Protests sprung up nationwide. The five police officers directly involved were fired and also detained on second-degree murder and other charges. The special unit the officers were part of, SCORPION, which was created to address Memphis' rising violent crimes, was disbanded. A sixth officer and two fire department employees were also relieved of their duties.

A suicide bomber hit a mosque in Pakistan, killing 59. That number keeps rising each time I check. Large portions of the mosque collapsed and emergency workers are scrambling to save people underneath. The Taliban claimed responsibility.

Pakistan also had two transportation accidents, a bus falling into a ravine and a boat capsizing, killing at least 51.

A gunman shot at people leaving services at a synagogue in Jerusalem, killing 7. The gunman was killed. Several dozen people were arrested and Netanyahu wants to increase the gun permits for citizens to protect themselves in the future.

32 killed, 147 injured in blast at mosque in Peshawar Police Lines Area

A blast inside a mosque shook Peshawar’s Police Lines area on Monday, with officials saying that at least 32 people were killed and 147 were injured.

The outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the blast.

Peshawar lies on the historic Grand Trunk Road that connects the city to Islamabad, 184 km to the East, and Lahore and also provides access to the Afghan border via the Khyber Pass, with onward connections to Kabul, which lies 284 km to the West. Yesterday, it was reported that 10 children had died in a mass drowning when their boat capsized on a lake near Kohat, approximately 70 km due south of Peshawar.

28 مئی 1998 کو ہم نے ایٹمی دھماکے کیے اور 28 مئی 2024 کو ہم نے عام تعطیل کی۔ یعنی یہ بات سمجھتے سمجھتے ہمیں پورے 26 سال لگ گئے کہ 28 مئی ایک ایسا دن ہے جس پر ہمیں تعطیل کا اعلان کرنا چاہیے۔ 28 مئی یقینا ایک قابل فخر دن ہے۔ تاہم ہمیں اپنی فیصلہ سازی کے اس معیار پر فکر کرنے کی بھی ضرورت ہے۔ ابھی زیادہ وقت نہیں گزرا محترم احسن اقبال نے یوم اقبال پر تعطیل کی سمری پر اقبال کا ہی ایک غلط شعر لکھ کر اس سمری کو رد کر دیا کہ نہیں ہے بندہ حُر کے لیے جہاں میں فراغ ۔ سوال یہ ہے کہ اب بندہ حُر کو فراغت کیسے نصیب ہو گئی کہ اس نے 26 سال پرانی قضائیں لوٹانے کا فیصلہ کر لیا؟ یہ ایک قومی دن ہے۔ اسے سیاسی ضرورت کی نظر نہیں ہونا چاہیے ۔ سیاسی چیلنج کا جواب لمحۂ موجود کی کارکردگی سے دیا جاتا تو اچھا تھا۔ 26 سال پرانے واقعے پر اچانک رجز پڑھ لینے سے کام نہیں بنے گا۔ 28 مئی مسلم لیگ ن کی زندگی میں پہلی بار نہیں آیا کہ ماحول میں وارفتگی سی گندھ گئی ہے۔ اقتدار کے کتنے ہی موسم ن لیگ پر ایسے گزرے کہ 28 مئی آیا اور اہل دربار میں سے کسی کو توفیق نہ ہو سکی کہ ای سیون کے قید خانے میں ڈاکٹر اے کیو خان کو اس دن کی مناسسبت سے چند پھول ہی بھجوا دیے جاتے۔

اہل دربار اشتہار چھپواتے تو اے کیو خان کا نام تک نہ ہوتا، قوم کا شعور اجتماعی جسے ہیرو سمجھتا ہے، ایک رسمی سا تذکرہ بھی اس شخص کا نہ ہوتا۔ محسن کشی کی یہ رسم اب بھی جاری ہو گی۔ کسی سائنس دان کا کہیں تذکرہ نہیں ہو گا۔ دربار میں قصیدے کی بزم سجے گی تو سارے سہرے نواز شریف صاحب کے کہے جائیں گے۔ ماضی کو چھوڑ دیجیے، آج بھی کیا صدر، وزیر اعظم یا کسی وزیر محترم کو یہ توفیق ہو پائے گی کہ اے کیو خان کی قبر پر چند پھول ہی رکھ آئے کہ ہم جو دن منا رہے ہیں اس کوہ کنی میں سر فہرست لکھے ناموں میں ایک نام آپ کا بھی ہے؟ ایٹمی قوت ڈیٹرنس کا کردار ادا کرتی ہے لیکن فیصلہ سازی کا بحران درپیش ہو تو ایٹمی قوت کے ہوتے ہوئے بھی بحران قومی وجود سے لپٹ جاتے ہیں۔ نواز شریف وزیر اعظم تھے اور ان سے ان کے حصے کا کریڈٹ چھینا نہیں جا سکتا، لیکن کیا دوسروں سے ان کے حصے کا کریڈٹ چھینا جا سکتا ہے؟ بھٹو سے، ضیا الحق سے، ڈاکٹر اے کیو خان اور ان کے رفقا سے؟ کئی ہیرو تو وہ ہوں گے جو گم نام ہوں گے اور کیا عجب کہ حقیقی ہیرو وہی ہوں؟

بنانے والے جاں پر کھیل کر ملک کو ایٹمی قوت بنا گئے۔ سوال اب کے فیصلہ سازوں کا ہے۔ فیصلہ سازی میں اگر تسلسل اوربصیرت نہ ہو تو سارا سفر دائروں کی مسافت بن جاتا ہے۔ ایٹمی قوت ڈیٹرنس کا کردار ادا کرتی ہے لیکن فیصلہ سازی کا بحران درپیش ہو تو ایٹمی قوت کے ہوتے ہوئے بھی بحران قومی وجود سے لپٹ جاتے ہیں۔ ہم ایٹمی قوت ہیں لیکن کشمیر کو انڈیا نے ناجائز اور غیر قانونی طور پر اپنا حصہ قرار دے لیا ہے۔ یہ جرات وہ ان دنوں میں بھی نہیں کر سکا تھا جب ہم ایٹمی قوت نہیں تھے۔ اسی طرح ہم ایک ایٹمی قوت ہیں لیکن ایک خوف ناک معاشی بحران دامن گیر ہو چکا ہے۔ ایک ایک ارب ڈالر کے لیے کہاں کہاں ہمیں ناک رگڑنا پڑ رہی ہے اور کون جانے پس پردہ کہاں کہاں کمپرومائز کرنے پڑ رہے ہوں۔ ہمیں معیشت اور بصیرت کی دنیا میں بھی ایک 28 مئی کی ضرورت ہے۔ کیا وطن عزیز میں کوئی فرہاد ہے جو یہ کوہ کنی کر سکے؟ یا ہم 26 سال پرانی کامیابی پر ہی رجز پڑھتے رہیں گے تا کہ سند رہے اور بوقت ضرورت کام آئے۔
