In the Hands of Women, my debut historical novel is born.

Can it be real? It feels impossible after so many months – has it been twenty already? So much crazy time has been spent writing, researching, revising, editing, soul-searching and binge eating Cheez-Its to get through this project! Three hundred sixty pages of historical fiction. It feels surreal, like giving birth – a whole book… so hard to fathom. What will I do without the intimate friends…

Wallflower Arts (Instagram @wfastudio) #Oakland is Meg Schwarzman who creates public mural art across the SF Bay Area and now elsewhere in the US, usually integrating representation of native wildflowers. Meg is accepting commissions! Her maternal grandmother was a botanist, and Meg says Wallflower “germinated as a pandemic art project on my garage doors -- a burst of life and color in a public space at a moment when so many of us were confined to private spaces, and when neighborhood walks were the only escape. As a physician working through that scary time, painting was a balm, and creating public art connected me to everyone who passed by. Art transforms public spaces, and maybe for a moment it also changes the people who see it.”

Can’t wait to welcome you all back to our newly colourful studio bathroom!! 🍃 Check out our very prominent ‘how to flush the toilet’ signs in two easy to see locations, including view from the loo 🤣 Our toilet has been confusing and surprising people since we opened - that little basin you can see is the top of it. I love working for a small vendor who’s been in business since before I was born! Part of my #pandemicprojects was to sort, catalogue & sell the vintage pewter & statuary. Imagine my glee when I discovered a small collection of licensed 1990 Beauty and the Beast pewter this morning! @perlmutations was my first celebrity crush when I was 5. I spent twelve days around the Presidential election helping out with the Virginia Voter protection hot line. Hoping and praying to have a woman, who happened to be a woman of color, of Indian heritage, as Vice President, wanting to see nation back on right track, I had written and mailed hundreds of postcards over the preceding months.
