Color sat in their room, the lights turned off and it being pitch black. They wanted to turn it on but..just can’t. It was like they were being held back. It felt uncomfortable but familiar.

They thought it was stupid how clingy they were to the darkness despite their fear of it. But it was so familiar. It felt so much like when they were in the void, just known as Sans, looking into the endless darkness with that presence behind them.

“i guess i really can’t let go, huh?”

Color whispered to themself, slowly lowering the rest of their body to the ground, the cold wooden grounds sending tiny shivers up Color’s spine.

They couldn’t see anything, and unease set into them. What if everything was..gone? Something was gone? They wouldn’t know at all. They can’t see anything.

What if someone took those photos of their family away? They desperately wanted to get up and check to see. Yet it felt like their body was glued to the floor. It was too familiar, yet too uncomfortable at the same time.

They couldn’t move. They couldn’t. It felt so straining to just move their body, to feel their bones shift and their legs touching the floor to hold their body up.

After a while in the darkness, the light flickered on.

Color looked around tiredly, spotting the photos of their family. ‘phew’ Color thought. Looking up, they saw Killer at the door, holding yarn and knitting needles.

Killer starred at Color with his blank gaze, his fully black eyes peering down at Color. He tilted his head curiously, his usual smile present. After a moment of staring, Killer spoke.

“wanna knit?”

Color was taken aback for a moment, thinking for a moment. They did like knitting….

“…yeah.”

Color slowly stood up, their body still feeling heavy. They almost collapsed, before Killer caught them in his arms. Killer helped Color steady. Color immediately felt as if all the heaviness holding them down was gone, faded into a small nagging in the distance.

Killer slowly lead Color to the living room, the messy yet homey place highly contrasting the darkness Color was in earlier.

Color looked around. Everything was in place. Nothing was gone. They didn’t lose anything like they did in the void. It was all here.

Killer lead Color to the rocking chair, letting Color sit down before placing a blanket over Color’s lap, placing the yarn and knitting needles in their lap.

Color gently picked up the two things, looking at them with precision. The yarn was a nice multicolor, each Color reminding him of someone important in their life. Their family, the chromatic crew…and Color knew what to do. They wanted to make a scarf to always hold them close, even when they are far away.

Killer knelt down by Color’s side, laying his head upon Color’s lap while he sat in a bean bag. Color, slowly, began to knit, as Killer watched silently, the tv distantly playing some old vintage cartoons while the fireplace let out quiet roars from time to time.

Killer looked at the fireplace for a moment, before whispering to Color, his raspy yet calming voice breaking the absence of noise coming from them.

“y’know, you always reminded me of the fireplace.”

Color continued knitting, glancing at Killer with a smile. Their chest didn’t feel so heavy anymore. This felt familiar, but not uncomfortable or scary. It felt comforting. Not like a living space, but a home.

“i know why.”

a.) Alina's "Grisha" didn't mean barely a tenth of Ravkan Second Army. And that's just a small group in a single country.

b.) Remaining majority wasn't turned into a faceless mass of canon fodder as soon as they become "The Darkling's Grisha".

Out of these five mentions, only the last one requires specification to make a distinction between those following the Darkling and another group.

c.) Alina took time to get to know at least her tiny group, so her concern would seem more genuine. In other words- the story lacks build-up.

Yes, the woman he'd accurately calculated would save him was Dr. Gregor, not Jean, but that doesn't change that he remained unsure if Jean was real (and thought she was alive) while the all-seeing Enigma knew on the contrary that Scott was delusional because Phoenix thus equally (an equivocation which casts further doubt of Scott's fiery visions ever being genuine, as Jean's dying mind had departed Scott well before Mother Righteous sacrificed Jean's dead fragmented self for Dominion, before Scott was tortured) Jean — were so utterly dead that Rachel and Hope had to cancel out death to reverse it. Yet Scott, hyper-vigilant traumatized autistic brain-damaged neurodivergent soldier that he is, seemingly accomplished all these strategic calculations while having a psychotic “break,” which is extremely in character for him—
