Week 1 (02/10 - 08/10)

Drafting then toiling female waist coat for my final collection. I cut on the stand to see what hem line I might want to look at. 

I really liked the horse shoe neck line as well as thinking about making it double breasted (not pictured) . I also added O rings to the tabs. in the real thing making the tabs shorted so that the O rings stand out more.  Thinking really about details for this collection. Having this detailing on a waist coast might be uncomfortable underneath a jacket so maybe i could translate to a  jacket? 

Also this week working on the female jacket draft and starting the male jacket draft. I’m making my basics block drafts so then i can experiment with the block after i know the run is good. My designs are very classic silhouettes with the attention on the detailing. 

I re-sampled the concave sleeve shown in the book Pattern magic by Tomoko Nakamichi. Using canvasing to give support to the fabric as my previous attempts didn’t hold shape.
