Spring blooms. Of course, it's supposed to snow this weekend, so we'll see if the flowers on the trees make it. Amelanchier alnifolia - Serviceberry (top) and Pyrus sp. - Pear (bottom)

The low growing plants are more used to the flux in temperatures. Viola nuttallii - Nuttall's Violet (left) and, I think, Helianthus maximiliani - Maximilian's Sunflower. (Continuing the tradition of naming plants and animals after a bunch of white guys who "discovered" them. If anyone knows any OG names, I'm down to hear them.)

Fun fact: Honey Bees are an introduced species in North America. The majority of native Bees in North America are typically solitary, don't live in hives, and have a bunch of different nesting strategies. As to whether or not this is actually a Digger Bee nest, I can't say, it could be a number of other insect species too, but I feel pretty honored that this bug decided to raise the next generation in one of the native plant garden beds.

I also did get to live out my dreams of being a Beaver! One of the Beaver dam analogs we installed. Still needs a lot of work and will probably need upkeep throughout the season. Those rodents are definitely better engineers than we are, let me tell you. It was a lot of work but hellaciously fun. Spent most the morning slinging mud around. Walking in the mud is no joke though, my feet kept getting stuck and I fell over at one point trying to rearrange sticks.

MARIIIIIIII HI HOW ARE YA

Ooof that’s a hard one, lotta characters I love so this isn’t a comprehensive list! Also not in any particular order

-SUO!! I love him so much, he’s such a little shit. I love how he’s so caring towards his friends but also keeps them at arms length. I love how bizarre he can be. I love his friendship with Nirei and Sakura. I need to study him in a lab.

-Nirei! He’s so cute I love he. He’s such a big part of the series heart, and I love were his character arc goes. He gets to be both strong AND smart, which isn’t always a given with his archetype. The lack of merch for him disappoints me.

-Sakuraaaaa!! My baby boy, I adore he. He’s such a fucking good protagonist, it’s so earnest and satisfying seeing him grow and make bonds with the people who love him. I love how slow the reveal of his backstory is too, makes every piece we get significant.

-Togame!! I adore his design (both haircuts) and I really love his character. Characters that seem like bad guys but are actually making themselves bad for someone they love is a trope I love and he’s a great example of it. He’s so sweet and kind after his arc too! I’d absolutely date him if he was real and my age.

-this slot can got to so many characters, but for now I’m gonna go with Endo! He reminds me a lot of Belial from Granblue Fantasy (just WAY less horny and homocidal) he’s not a good person at all but he’s incredibly entertaining and I love the weird toxic situationship/relationship he has with Takiishi. I also need to study him in a lab, hope he shows up again soon only so I can get more of him interacting with Ume that shit was hilarious.

i do think it's funny that the general stereotype for fanfiction plots, and no offence intended if this is the sort of thing you like and do, is for things like fix-it fics, or 'x character doesn't die!' or the like. i see the vision. i understand it. i am completely dedicated to doing the opposite. lovingly crafting my difficult, complicated little red-haired woman, just to look at her with deep affection and slowly lower her into the deep fat fryer

Suddenly finding a pear on the floor with a tag that has my name attached to the fruit was quite startling. However, I must note that this can, without a doubt, be considered an unsettling gesture. Your submitting a message concerning the pear under my door is akin to luring a kid in a van with a candy they do not like that much, and I would have refrained from checking if the... well, the pear threat, if you will, was real, but avoiding leaving my dorm room amidst midterms and co-curriculars was simply impossible.

What is even more concerning is that you were aware of my room's location as well as, I assume, my liking for pears and used fruit as bait. I cannot believe these are actual words I have to type in response to an anonymous message, but nonetheless, the implied stalking would be hard to ignore. 

It makes me wonder if you expected me to thank you. In case your actions were driven by genuine friendliness, then I would kindly ask you not to do it again. It was definitely an unexpected surprise, but I hope my response made you feel seen if that was your goal.
