Who do you not write for in one piece?

That's a good question since there are so many characters in OP! Some who come to mind immediately are Queen, Who's Who, Sasaki, and a few other newer characters. Not bc I hate them, I really like Beasts Pirates, but I feel like I don't have a strong enough grasp on the characters mentioned imo. Otherwise, I've created a list of OP characters that I feel I understand enough and do write for! Also if a character who is underage is listed, I will only write general HCs or fluff around them. Summary: It’s Ulti’s birthday and Perona pours her heart into celebrating it.

Snow fell from the cloudy sky, each snowflake individual and sticking to the glass surface Perona glanced out from. She smiled with glee, happy that the snow had set on the unknown island and it was enough for them to make snow angels and snowmen. Perona turned on her heel and stared at her sleeping girlfriend. Ulti, or Lulu, as she liked to call her, was sleeping peacefully. Soft snores came from Ulti, her purple hair with pink strikes covering most of her face. Perona contemplated whether to wake her or not. She did plan a whole day of fun and her fluttering heart wanted to start the day right away. 

But then again, she knew how grumpy her girlfriend became when she was awakened from her beauty sleep. 

Perona sighed as she took a couple of steps towards the sleeping Ulti. She looked so adorable, her eyelids gently fluttering as she saw a dream, a good one Perona hoped. Perona got on her knees, the rug tickling her from underneath, and watched her. Normally sleeping people didn’t look good, they looked like a mess. But not Ulti. Not her Lulu. 

Perona smiled as she thought about all the things she planned for them to do during the day. She had prepared Lulu’s favorite breakfast and after that the two of them would go for a nice winter walk. Then, when they came back home, Perona would bake a cake for her and give Ulti the presents she had bought for her. Though, none of that would happen if Ulti continued to sleep. Perona, finally giving in to her mischievous instinct, straightened her forefinger, ready to poke Ulti. Her finger inched closer and closer to the other’s face, Perona bit her bottom lip, a thing she often did when she became nervous. But before the tip of her finger could make contact with Ulti’s face, the pirate groaned and turned, Perona’s efforts becoming fruitless. 

“Oh come on,” she whispered as she rolled her eyes. “Ulti,” she called out, still whispering, “Lulu…” 

Ulti continued to snore as she snuggled further into the blanket, Perona pouted. She really couldn’t blame Lulu though, she did whisper after all, she barely heard herself! Perona fully sat on the floor, crossing her legs and scratching her chin as she thought of a way to wake her up without invoking Ulti’s rage. Then an idea slowly started to form in her head, she quickly got up her pink hair bouncing as she giggled with excitement. Twisting her wrist and wiggling her fingers she formed one of her medium sized ghosts,  she aimed it towards the unsuspecting Ulti, the ghost passed through her and Perona could see Ulti visibly shivering at the contact. The woman shivered and shot up immediately, her eyes wide. The ghost quickly disappeared and Perona quickly started to look out the window like she did not long ago, acting unaware of her girlfriend's disturbed state.  

“Princess?” 

Perona turned with her arms behind her and batted her eyelashes innocently towards Ulti. Ulti raised her eyebrow suspiciously at her but before she could say anything Perona shot her a toothy grin. 

“Good morning Lulu!” she chirped. “Finally you’re up, how about we have some breakfast?” 

“Uh…sure,” Ulti was still drowsy from the sudden wake from her beauty sleep. She scratched the back of her head and glanced at Perona. “I have a terrible feeling…” 

Perona dismissed her worries by waving her hand. “Don’t worry about it, you’ll feel better when you eat.” 

Ulti beamed at her words and on que her stomach growled. She attempted to get out of bed but Perona motioned her to stop. 

“Stay here,” she said as she walked towards the door. “I’ll be right back with everything.” 

“Breakfast in bed?” she asked, a sly smile tugging at her lips. “What’s the occasion?” 

“Do you actually not know or are you just kidding?” Perona answered with a question of her own. It wouldn’t be completely surprising if her dearest Lulu had forgotten her own birthday. 

“I know I know,” Ulti said, chuckling. “Now go and bring me my breakfast before I starve.” 

Perona playfully stuck her tongue out before she left. She skidded down the hall as she mentally patted herself on the back, feeling proud that she got everything ready before Ulti woke up. To be completely honest Perona was surprised she heard the alarm, usually she completely slept through it. When she finally reached the kitchen she was lowkey surprised at the sight of how much food she prepared, waffles, pancakes, eggs, bagels (both sweet and salty), bacon, fresh cut fruit… anything Perona could imagine, she cooked. 

Quickly, but also carefully, she placed all the dishes on multiple trays. Knowing that she wouldn’t be able to carry them all, at least not by herself, she made two of her biggest ghosts and told them to help her. They all went back to the hall, not a crewmate insight, and reached the bedroom. Ulti was still in bed, nestled between the many pillows Perona had bought before and the soft blankets. She uncharastically seemed calmed, happy and content. Three states of a mindset that Perona almost never saw on her girlfriend. 

Ulti’s eyes went wide when she saw the ghosts and the many trays of food, her mouth fell open when Perona laid everything on the bed, lastly placing a fork and knife in Ulti’s still hands. Ulti’s gaze went back to her, still shocked. Perona giggled and sat on the small empty area on the bed, she clapped her hands and the ghost butlers disappeared.   

“What’s all this?” Ulti asked, turning her gaze back to the food.

“Breakfast,” Perona answered, pleased by the reaction she was getting. “I thought you were hungry?” 

“I am but…how,” she swallowed, her mouth starting to water. “How– When did you make all of this?” 

“I woke up early, silly! How else?” she grinned, inching closer towards the food with her own fork and knife. “Now dig in!”

Ulti swallowed once more, her shock still evident in her expression. She lifted her fork and stabbed a stack of sweet,sticky waffles bathed in golden maple syrup. The food glistened as Ulti opened her mouth wide and stuffed herself full, moaning as her tongue was covered with sweetness. Perona watched her with glee and took a raisin bagel, she brought it close to her pink glossy lips. 

“This is delicious!” Ulti exclaimed, taking another mouthful of the waffles. 

“Glad you like it,” Perona answered, taking a bite of her own food and sighing with relief when the taste was good. “Try the other stuff I made too! There’s no limits today!”

Ulti chuckled, “I like the sounds of that princess.” 

They continued to eat, they dug into the waffles, pancakes, fruit… pretty much everything that Perona had made for them to devour. She was surprised that most of what she made was completely gone, the only things remaining two bagels and a bit of fruit. Ulti wiped her lips as she placed the last tray to the floor, wrapping her arms around Perona’s waist she pulled her to the bed. Perona yelped as she was contained in a suffocating embrace, Ulti nuzzled the back of her neck and placed a soft kiss. Goosebumps rose all over Perona’s pale skin. 

“This was amazing,” Ulti purred. “Thank you so much for the best birthday surprise ever.” 

Perona raised a pink eyebrow, “Do you think this was your only surprise?” When silence followed she giggled. “We’re just getting started, Lulu!”

“Are we now?” Ulti’s voice sounded hesitant. 

Pouting, Perona turned to face her. Indeed she looked like she was nervous. Perona rolled her eyes and crawled out of bed, pulling Ulti with her as she did so. 

“Why the face? We’re going to have so much fun!” 

“I…” Ulti gulped. “I have work to do.” 

“No you don’t.” Perona let go of her hand and opened the closet. She quickly picked out a cute white button up shirt and a dark purple skirt for the still not-so-sure Ulti. She pushed the set of clothes into Ulti’s chest and immediately pulled her hand back, forcing her to grab the outfit before it fell to the floor. Ulti pouted when she saw the skirt, but her frown quickly turned upside down when Perona raised herself on her toes to kiss Ulti on the cheek. She quickly left right after, granting the precious birthday girl some privacy. 

Perona waited patiently with a smile, she checked her shoes and her pink nails as butterflies flew wild in her stomach. 

“Do I have to wear this?” Ulti groaned from behind her. 

Perona turned on her heel and gasped with shock. Ulti looked amazing in the outfit she picked for her, Ulti’s cheeks were dusted with a light shade of pink and Perona thought it looked adorable. When Ulti came to stand next to her, she gave her a big hug and took a hold of her hand. 

“Are you excited for our walk?” 

“Sure?” Ulti replied, not really knowing what else to say. 

With their fingers intertwined, Perona led the way. They walked towards the forest, heading deeper and deeper into the winter wonderland. It was better than Perona had hoped. Snow crunched underneath their shoes as they had their stroll, small icicles had formed on the branches of the trees, giving it more of a mystical vibe. Usually, in a forest like this, there would be birds chirping and animals making noise but now it was silent, the good kind. The kind where Perona and Ulti could appreciate the togetherness of their relationship. They didn’t need to talk, not at all. The silence was peaceful. All they needed was each other. 

Perona finally stopped when they stood in front of the frozen lake. Ulti looked down at her with confusion and held her hand tighter. Ulti followed her gaze and saw a table at the otherside of the lake. Squinting her eyes she saw a dim light coming from the furniture, Ulti managed to identify the light source as candles and glanced down once more. 

“What’s this?” 

“Surprise,” replied Perona, her usual chipper voice now reduced to a happy whisper. “Happy birthday Ulti, I love you.” 

“I…I love you too, Princess.” 

Perona loved it whenever Ulti became speechless and it looked like right now was one of those moments. Suddenly, Perona felt two strong arms around her waist, she was lifted from the ground into a suffocating hug. It felt crushing but the good kind. Ulti groaned as she nuzzled the other’s neck, her lips soft against Perona’s skin. 

“How on earth did I manage to get so lucky?” Ulti asked, her voice muffled. 

“I could ask the same thing,” Perona managed to choke out. “You’re the best Lulu, never forget that.” 

Perona gasped when Ulti finally released her and sweet oxygen filled her lungs. Ulti shot her an embarrassed and apologetic look. 

“Sorry…” 

“No need to apologize, it’s not the first time you almost killed me with a hug–” 

“You were choking on a piece of gum!” 

Perona giggled and took Ulti’s hand once more. It was quite warm compared to her own. She squeezed and gestured towards the table with her head. 

“How about another feast?” 

Without saying anything she led Ulti towards the frozen lake, she almost fell with her first step but Ulti was quick to catch her in her arms and asked if she was alright. Perona swiftly nodded, her cheeks heating up with embarrassment. Maybe she should’ve floated over instead? No… she couldn’t. She loved walking with Lulu and wasn’t going to cop out just because the ice was a tad bit slippery– 

Perona slipped again. 

This time Ulti failed to catch her, Perona hissed at the pain and the cold as the wetness of the ice seeped through the skirt of her dress. Involuntarily her eyes teared up, throbbing pain shooting throughout her body. 

“Princess are you alright?!” 

The answer to the question was a sniffle. Perona failed to look up to her girlfriend, too embarrassed to actually make eye contact. Ulti sighed and pulled her up from underneath her arms, Perona’s legs trembled. 

“You float way too much,” Ulti said. “I feel like you forgot how to walk.” 

“The ice is slippery!” Perona snapped. 

“Fair point,” Ulti shook her head. “Anyways, here let me help you.” 

Before Perona knew it she was being scooped by her legs and into an embrace. The side of her face was pressed against Ulti’s chest and her body was being gingerly lifted up by both of Ulti’s arms. 

“I’ll just carry you there till we reach the end, Princess.” 

Perona couldn’t help but giggle, her incoming tears now dried up. There was something funny about being called Princess and then getting carried princess-style. She liked it, of course, but still…it was humorous. Ulti kept her word and actually carried her to the end of the lake, she hopped out of the embrace and gestured towards the table with both hands.

“Surprise!”

From Ulti’s expression, Perona could guess that she wasn’t expecting this much and she probably couldn’t see clearly when they were so far away. The table was filled with many colorful presents, plates of Ulti’s favorite dishes and balloons tied to the table. There was also a small radio that played a faintly audible upbeat music. 

“I can’t believe you did all of this,” Ulti said, genuinely impressed. “The breakfast and now this…how on earth did you do it all?”

“Not gonna lie I did get help while setting up the table,” she replied, tapping her chin. “But you can thank them later! I want you to only focus on me!.” 

With that Perona leaped into Ulti’s arms and peppered her face with soft, ticklish kisses. Ulti jokingly groaned as one kiss followed another and it made her giggle when it continued. She wrapped her arms around Perona’s waist when she realized that Perona was nowhere near to the end of her kiss attack. Ulti could smell the strawberry of her lip gloss, felt the stickiness of it but didn’t dare to stop her. For this was probably the most enjoyable part of her day aside from the surprises. 

When Perona finally parted from her face, she led her towards the table. With the music accompanying them, they ate, laughed and opened up presents. Ulti thanked her after opening each one, her body now filled with the scarves, necklaces, jackets that Perona had bought for her. They slowly dug into the many dishes Perona had laid down on the table, there were many small cakes, crackers, eclairs, different varieties of cheeses and meats. She was quite proud of her accomplishment. Some of it was bought from a nearby market but most of it was made by her. their stomachs were still full from morning so they ate a bit between opening each present. 

Finally when every president had been opened and every dish was tasted, Ulti got up from her chair. SHe slightly leaned down and extended her hand towards Perona who was still sitting and nibbling on a gingerbread cookie. She shot Ulti a confused glance. 

“What’s going on?” she asked. 

“May I have this dance, Princess?” 

Perona’s lips spread out into a grin, she gently placed her hand into the other’s and let Ulti pull her up from the comfort of her chair. Snow had started to slowly descend from the heavens, gently making its way down from the sky. The ones that touched Perona’s face melted into her pale skin, making her shiver at the cold. The faint sound of a more romantic song could be heard from the radio. It had a nice tune, it had a certain softness to it. Before she could say anything, Perona suddenly found herself being pulled towards Ulti’s soft chest. She gently placed a hand on Perona’s waist and took a hold of her hand. Trying to accommodate the rhythm of the music, the two started to sway from side to side. 

Perona held her breath as she stared at Ulti’s chest, she didn’t dare look at her fearing that her excitement would be clearly read from her face. Ulti made her spin and hugged her close once more. The sound of snow crunching accompanied the soft tunes and Perona let her head fall onto Ulti’s chest as they continued to dance under the white sky. Ulti hummed happily and pulled her closer, she placed a kiss on the top of her head. 

“Hey, princess.” 

“Yeah?” Perona replied in almost a sleepy tone. 

“Look up.” 

And so she did. 

Ulti’s lips brushed over her’s right before she captured them with a kiss. They continued to move with the music, their lips intertwined with each other. It was as if they were writing a symphony of their own. Perona had no idea how long their kiss lasted, it felt like an eternity. When they parted Perona was breathless, her mind dazed as she looked up to her. Ulti didn’t seem to be doing much better, her cheeks painted a dark red. Their dancing stilled as they gazed at each other, forgetting the rest of the world. 

Then both of them smiled and started to giggle, Ulti buried Perona’s face into her chest once more and nuzzled the top of her head, without warning Ulti let herself fall to the ground and pulled Perona with her. She let out a gasp as she fell on top of her. Ulti chuckled again and placed a hand on her cheek, her thumb going in circles over her flushed skin. 

“Thank you for all of this, I love you so much.” she said, barely in a whisper. 

“I love you too.” 

They both continued to admire one another as they laid under the sky, snowflakes sticking to their hair and eyelashes, melting as it touched their skin. It seemed to go on for eternity.
