where; the tailor shop with: @superparadise (kolya)
peter had a tendency to overthink and underthink all at once. the beast in his head did little to help, pushing forward baser instincts and ignoring higher reasoning, sending peter into spirals that often left him frozen in place for longer than necessary, or frantically moving before he had a chance to get his barings, and perhaps that was why he was standing outside the tailor shop now, a bag over his shoulder, feet fidgiting nervously as he reasoned with himself to turn around and just count his losses, or to man up and walk in the door and ask for the help he needed.
it wasn't that he didn't trust kolya. it was, in fact, the exact opposite, he trusted the vampire implicitly with his clothing and he knew that it would be right as rain and good as new the moment he asked for it to be fixed. but asking meant... asking, and peter was already terrified of just how close he'd grown to the vampire in the first place. how easy it was to laugh and joke with kolya ivanov and how comfortable being around him felt, both in the moments they were together and in the twilight moments when he was halfway down a bottle and thinking too much.
he didn't want to get close to anyone, not like this, not as this monster who could very easily kill. the very idea of hurting someone so special sent him absolutely spiraling.
he didn't get a chance to think too much more, as the door to the shop opened and there stood daisy, cute as ever with that beaming smile she always seemed to wear on her face, and she froze for only a second in the door before stepping out of the way and ushering him in, calling out "dad, mr. lopez is here." in a tone that peter couldn't quite pick up on and caused his face to flush pink before he could stop it.
she quickly scooted out of the shop once he was inside, and he stood, awkward, in the center of the room, bag still dangling over his shoulder, feet still moving back and forth, until kolya appeared, and he smiled in spite of himself. one of those goofy smiles that simply lit up his face and crinkled the corners of his eyes. it was as natural as breathing in.
"hey..." the way that the word exhaled out of him like he'd been holding his breath almost sounded pathetic, and peter flushed pinker, carefully lifting the bag from his shoulder and setting it on the counter between them. "so, uhm... i've got a few... well, tatters are a nice way of putting it, but there are pieces in here that i've had for years and the idea of having to part with them because the monster decided to use them as chew toys absolutely guts me. if you can save even one single thing in this bag, i'll owe you the most expensive bottle of wine i can find in vegas."

Please tell us about the thoughts on patho! Sanya and patho! Yura. Please
Tumblr media
of course, thank you for the ask!! i will preface this by saying that these roles might (and are likely to) change, like the bachelors role did - and that thats ok!! this is all just for fun <3 and i also want to say that im gonna alter the world of patho a bit, which, i think is also fine, since its an au !! fun times:) thoughts under cut
so, i'll talk about yura and arthur, then sanya (and sergei, sorta), and then them as a trio/duo.
patho!yura takes on the role of andrey stamatin. its a bit odd, but it fits. i changed yuras pants because i dont like andreys pants. its as simple as that. yura, like bachelor!dmitry and patho!arthur is from the capital. he studied with arthur and all that. young geniuses, you could say. though they haven't worked on as many architectual structures as the canon stamatins have, the few that they Have worked on are well known! whether or not they're liked is a whole different story. i wasn't sure who to put as the stamatin brothers, really, as the only brothers in pafl are nikita and kolya, i think? or tsar and arthur, sorta, iirc ferrys said a time or two that they think of each other as brothers or something like that. but! nikita and kolya will have.. different roles.. and tsar doesnt strike me as an an andrey nor a peter... so !! yura beletsky and arthur sokolov (his surname was in that one character sheet) are. the. umm. i dont know what their name would be but i think they're 'partners' - or at least, yura calls them that. (because of their colleague status, of course, since they work together so much. they can be gay too i guess. sigh. long live yaoi) yuras personality is pretty much the same as in canon, but hes a bit. hm. well, id say he acts like he's better than you, but hes just overcompensating. still very sad and depressed and all that.
arthur in this.. he's more depressed than angry in this one. i dont know. i havent thought of him all that much, truly and also !! youve only asked me for my thoughts on sanya and yura !! not arthur !! i dont have to tell you anything.... i WILL one day. believe me. but only when i have better thoughts
sanya! as you may have noticed, she's still albino in this au.. and, heres where my lack of knowledge on town on gorkhon comes into play !! so ! imagine that the steppe is like, zone-esque, or something. again, this au is just for fun, and though i Do think about it a lot, i dont think about it enough for me to have coherent thoughts. so! sanya. the townsfolk, i think, claimed she must be related to the worms in some way since shes an Albino and Strange and Defiant and a Rebel. so i think that at some point they started making that worm connection as an 'explanation' for her behaviour. so. i think, at a young age, rather young age, her father (and sergei sorta, i guess? but hed have been .. in his teens at the time, at least.. and since sanyas mom dies in childbirth no matter if shes a mutant or not, shes dead in this, too) sorta sent her to the cemetery. sanya is grace <3 she hangs around and maintains the cemetery a lot. its better than dealing with judgement and such. at first, at least. when shes a kid. soon she starts getting lonely, wishes to engage in society, to make friends, but, well. town on gorkhon is a small town. im sure she has some friends, though. 'friends'. maybe the little kids in the town and the like, yeah? maybe the kid gang? but i doubt shes close with them in any way. this is the first iteration of patho!sanya that i like in any way. its possible, likely, that ill change this, some of it at least, but! this is how it is for now.
during patho's main events, the stamatin brothers have already been in town for a few years. in this au, the architect bros are in town for 2 years before the plague breaks out. during those 2 years, sanya comes to 'admire' yura. envies his way of life. maybe they hang out a bit... since sergei is away studying to become a surgeon, he wouldn't be there to spoil their friendship - but, he also wouldnt be there to introduce them in the first place. .. but also, just bc sanya spends most of her time maintaining the cemetery and such doesnt mean she never goes out to town, for shopping and such, maybe. so. i think they start hanging out. not a lot. yura thinks shes a bit lame maybe. cringe. but, they start hanging out!! i thinkkk . ivan could be bad grief if i dont find anyone else. so, i think, sanya would get to meet him, too, and therefore also yana. shes not all that close with them, but, she does think theyre cool... and the gang thinks shes fine. shes there!! yana still thinks of her as "baby", arthur still thinks of her as "why are you even here", yura still thinks of her as "heheheheehhehe wont stop teasing you".. idk where tsar comes in but hes also "you are alright!!!"... only diference is. she doesnt fight all that much with ivan:( so sad
a lot of this is just incorehent thoughts ! but thats all i can muster up at the moment.. hope its enough !! and if its not !! my askbox is always open:D ask whatever whenever 👍
looks left looks right. ferry if you see this im sorry for doing cocomelon shit to your ocs..

Crime and Punishment Warrior Cats AU
Okay, so for organizational purposes, I'm going to make a list of characters I'm going to keep in the AU, then a list of characters I'm not keeping and why. Obviously, when translating this story into the warrior cats universe, there are going to be things that just don't fit. (btw ✅ means I've finished their ref sheet and successfully turned them into a kitty cat.)
Raskolinikov ✅
Pulkheria Alexandrovna
Avdotya Romanovna (despite her and her mother living in a different place than Raskolnikov, I'm going to omit that from this AU, since they end up coming to St. Petersburg anyways, and warrior cats characters basically stay in the same place for their whole lives.)
Razumikhin ✅
Alena Ivanovna (Moneylenders don't exist in warriors so I'll need to figure out a different reason for why Raskolnikov would have been doing business with her and for why Porfiry Petrovich originally began to suspect Raskolnikov.)
Lizaveta Ivanovna
Marmeladov (I think I'm gonna make it so he ran away from the clan, like how Marmeladov in the book ran away from his family?)
Katerina Ivanovna
Sofya Semenovna
Polya, Lenya, and Kolya (they will be kits and the same age. No way a cat had three separate single babies loll)
Svidrigaylov (He will be from another Clan. I need to figure out how and why he would come to the clan Raskolnikov lives in, and how Dunya could have gone to live with him. Maybe by bending the Warrior Code in my universe to make it more common for cats to move clans like how people irl can move cities...? Idk yet)
Marfa Petrovna
Peter Petrovich (same deal with Svidrigaylov; he will be from a different clan)
Lebezyatnikov (tbh he only stays because he was important for one scene LMAO)
Zosimov (He will be the medicine cat, obviously :3)
Porfiry Petrovich (He will be the clan deputy; I want him to hold some power in the clan, but not enough that he'd be able to exile Raskolnikov without having to prove he was the murderer. I still dk who the clan leader will be...)
Nikolay and Dmitri (will just be regular warriors that just so happened to see Raskolnikov at the crime scene.)
The rest of the characters I add will just be NPCs to fill out the clan. Maybe I'll base some of their personalities on the characters I left out. The left out characters are:
Raskolnikov's landlady (whose name I wouldn't even remember if it weren't listed at the end of the book) and Nastasya. As much as I liked Nastasya, there's no real reason to keep the landlady character in the AU at all, since landladies don't exist in Warriors. Like I said above, I may keep Nastasya as a background character, maybe just some concerned cat who comes to check in on Raskolnikov from time to time. Though I can't really think of a reason for why she would do that unless it were her job.
Natalia Egorevna. The only purpose she served in the book was that Raskolnikov was going to marry her in exchange for living in Zarnitsyna's apartment or whatever it's called. Dostoevsky had his reasons for including this, I'm sure, but I don't see it as all that important and it just doesn't make sense for Warriors. RIP.
Amalia Ivanovna. Another landlady. Again, I might keep her as a background character, but the only role she'd fill is stirring up trouble at Marmeladov's vigil and pissing off Katerina Ivanovna so bad she loses it.
Kapernaumov. He literally doesn't even speak once in the book. Does anyone care that I'm not including him?
Zametov, Nikodim Fomich, and Ilya Petrovich. They can all be condensed into one character, which is Porfiry. All the police station scenes can be changed so that it was Porfiry he was talking to instead. They serve their purpose in the book so that Porfiry would be suspicious of Raskolnikov without them having to meet face-to-face yet, but I can change things around to fix that. Maybe Raskolnikov goes to see the leader instead, and the leader wouldn't be suspicious but Porfiry is. Or I can just say the part where Raskolnikov meets him for the first time in the book isn't the first time in the AU, because why would Raskolnikov not know the clan deputy, at least as acquaintances?
OK rambling over! If no one reads this but me, that's fine, as I'm mainly keeping this so that I know who to make ref sheets for. Esp since I'm going to have to return my copy of Crime and Punishment to the library soon LOL. If anyone has suggestions for names or ways I can change characters and events to fit better into the Warriors universe, please tell me! :D

Kairos.
With - Peter Lopez (@nxclearwinterxx) Where - Library of the Ravenwharf Shelter; First- Class Division. When - Day 1.
Kolya was in shock, he supposed.
He’d always thought Clio had just found an especially crazy and stupid way to spend her money, gifting him and Evgeni a couple of doomsday bunker tickets- and, well, they’d gone to use, but that didn’t make the concept any less crazy and stupid.
The idea that they were in a fucking ridiculously lavish underground vault while the world above them imploded and became inhabitable- that was crazy and stupid.
It was all just so, so fucked up.
And the fact that Clio wasn’t even here with them--
But he wasn’t thinking about that. Couldn’t.
He had to stay put together. For Evgeni.
His son was passed out, sprawled on his chest but with his legs pressed against Kolya’s arms and chest and his face pressed against Kolya’s knees instead of in a position that made any amount of sense. He was glad the kid had been able to get any rest, he was positive those who could wholly grasp the gravity of their current situation wouldn’t be able to with any amount of ease but all he had left that mattered in this world was this small body sprawled so ridiculously uncomfortably on his own, drooling all over his designer jeans.
They’d been meant to have a park date today. Swings, merry go round, too many hours of sunshine and ice cream from the truck, petting any friendly puppies that happened to walk by with their owners.
That had spiraled down the drain with a shocking quickness.
Most people were melting down in their assigned quarters, but a few were wandering in a haze, much like Kolya himself though he wasn’t nearly as bad off as he would have been without his child to tether him to reality. Evgeni mumbled something incoherent in his sleep and twitched a little hand, and Kolya smoothed a palm down his back absently.
Rest. Soak in the obliviousness to your present surroundings.
Eventually, Kolya became aware of the fact that someone else had joined them. “Do you think it’s a good thing that we made it?” He asked distantly, not really expecting an answer. “I mean-- of course no parent wishes for their child to suffer that-- ... a.... horrible death, but-” He trailed off, swallowed hard, blinked his burning eyes and dragged his gaze away from the beautiful, stupid, wonderful, questionably pointless bookshelves and to the stranger. Curly haired, pretty, glasses. Alive. Lucky?
“What kind of life is this going to be? Do you think he’ll resent me? When the memory of fresh air and sun and a life outside a glorified tin can begins to fade, and this is all there is...” Kolya drew in a sharp breath. “Is that even any life at all?”
Dread had crept in to his tone, clutching at his words with a vice grip and it was all he could do to keep his tone stable enough that it didn’t pitch upwards and wake his son and it didn’t become unintelligible. “Sorry,” He closed his eyes. “Nevermind.” Nobody’d asked, and how terribly ungrateful the very words were. There wasn’t a soul amongst the small population inhabiting this shelter that hadn’t suffered unimaginable loss, all because of a lack of space, resources- how could he even question his place here?
How could he want this future for his baby boy, either? How could he condemn him to an existence born strictly of survival with a decided lack of actual living?
Still, he was just lucky he wasn’t actively getting his ass handed to him for his words. He chanced a closer glance at the man to try and gauge whether he was contemplating anything of the sort, not that he would’ve blamed him. Of course, Kolya’d never been accused of having a talent for keeping his mouth shut. “Do you think there’ll ever be anything but this?” He wondered. There were claims that this place was equipped to handle a century at max capacity, with the capability of becoming self- sustainable provided enough work was put in.
But again- survival versus life, and Kolya couldn’t help but wonder if this... locked in this gilded cage... if this was all there’d ever be.

If Kolya had to pick one thing he truly hated about Baltimore, he would have settled on the January weather. This Friday night was particularly brutal- a frigid nineteen degrees meant he was leaving his favorite jacket in the closet in favor of the warmest one he owned. He didn’t really want to go out tonight, but Sorin was bound and determined to visit the bar that Davis tended and when he’d tried to weasel out of accompanying him he’d gotten those sad doe eyes and had given in in approximately half a second despite all the reservations he had when it came to freezing his goddamn ass off.
So here he was, gloved hands stuffed as far in his pockets as he could get them, a soft, bright red hat that was going to have his hair looking tragic and the matching scarf that he was currently trying to bury his face in. He didn’t pay much attention to what the bar looked like from the outside, too focused on getting in to the warmth and good lord, what a relief it was. He stomped his feet by the door, dislodging the snow, and silently prayed the drinks here would at least be worth that miserable trek because not even the ray of sunshine that had accompanied him here had accomplished that much.
Said ray of sunshine paid him little mind, just darted over to the bar with a cheery grin as Kolya himself moved away from that blasted door and methodically pushed back his hood, pulled off his hat and scarf and gloves and tucked them all away. He wasn’t quite willing to take off the jacket yet, but he made his way over to the bar nonetheless. There was one empty stool, the second to the last one on the right. The guy occupying that last seat was pretty enough, beautiful features, but he looked a little stern. Serious. Slicked back hair, not a strand out of place, a suit that looked like it cost more than Kolya’s whole life was worth. Not the sort of guy whose demeanor invited company, unfortunately enough. Not that Kolya was really looking for someone to warm his bed tonight anyways, but at the very least a little conversation to pass the time would’ve been nice. Either way, it didn’t matter much. As soon as he defrosted and had a drink or two, whether Sorin was ready to leave or not, he’d be heading home to get some much needed sleep before burying himself in homework all day tomorrow.
Fun times.
He exhaled, doing his best to shove all thoughts of work and school and all of it as far away as he could manage. Tonight, at least for an hour or two, he needed to unwind. So he schooled his features into a warm smile as he approached the barstool, a contrast to the chilly wasteland outside, and greeted the man sitting at the end. “Hi, there,” He offered. “Is this seat taken?”

Sparktober Bingo 2021!
Back for a new generation: Sparktober Bingo!
Instead of coming up with an Atlantis-specific list of prompts, I compiled a bunch of 2021 -tober prompt lists into one google doc here. (Links to original prompt lists are on the google doc.) Add in a list of Atlantis episodes and...
Tumblr media
How to play:
Choose a “flavor” from the prompt sets below the cut, then paste it into this fandom bingo card generator.
Adjust your browser size til it looks right and take a screenshot, or use the html script if you’re familiar with using html on tumblr. Tag @sparktober if you want us to reblog it so everyone knows you’re playing!
  Sparktober Bingo Rules:
Complete a row/column, corners, or a blackout of your card by November 1, or not! Update as you go.
All fan-works are allowed: art, edits, fic, meta... bonus points to anyone who picks the “sprinkles” flavor and goes full mid-aughts by filling their bingo cards with 100x100 pixel icons.
You are allowed to pull multiple cards until you get one that inspires you, and you can also go through the prompt list of your choice in advance to pull out squicks or things you absolutely won’t write. I recommend not googling unfamiliar words from your work computer.
Use the prompts liberally! Episode titles can be treated as the episode or as generic prompts (e.g. “Epiphany” can be for an episode-related fic or a prompt for an epiphany of your choice).
  Flavor descriptions:
VANILLA: Gen prompt lists from Fictober, Inktober, Trektober Gen, and Trektober Trek.
CHOCOLATE: Zesty prompt lists from Trektober NSFW, Kinktober, and Whumptober. The multiple-prompts-per-day from Kinktober and Whumptober have been broken into individual prompts.

Peter made sure that his carry-on stayed upright with as little jostling as possible to keep the precious cargo within neat and safe. He hoped Ivan's birthday gifts had came in, or will come in soon; tracking them had been a nightmare when he had no update coming into his email.
When he spotted Ivan, Peter waved, quickened his already power-walk pace, and let out a squeak that was audible from even far away as he saw Kolya. "Hi, you guys!" He cheered, giving Ivan a one-armed hug and crouching to gently rub Kolya's neck. "Oooh, darling, you look so handsome!"
Unfortunately, Peter's luggage wasn't the cyan plume affair Ivan may have been expecting (Peter had lost the online bid on that and he will be devastated for the rest of the month his life). Instead, he grabbed the one with a pattern that looked like a transparent suitcase showing rows of bags of cocaine. One could imagine the laugh Peter and the airport security had over that. With that taken care of, Peter patted his carry-on, eyebrows wiggling. "Soooo, do you want your Christmas gifts now, or later?" He knew it would likely be later (who gives holiday gifts at an airport?) but he couldn't help but build suspense.

I found your thoughts on Russian!Originals and I'm wondering what you would name them? Cause Ilya is such a pretty name, I'm curious what the rest would be called
Not that I am in any way an expert on Russian names or have done any research on which names were actually popular during the 900s (like, traditional Slavic names vs. Biblical names?) but here are my ideas:
Most of the names actually have direct translations-- I’m fond of just keeping things as close as possible to the original:
Mikael --> Mikhail
Esther--> Esfir
Elijah--> Ilya
Niklaus--> Nikolai
Rebekah--> Revekka
Henrik--> Genrikh
It gets more complicated with the 3 children with Viking names. Like, I suppose I could look up the meaning of the names, do some research, and then come up with Russian names that have similar meanings. But I’m very tired so I think I’m just going to assign some names that “feel right” to me.
Freya--> Anna -- she just strikes me that way, plus the name fits well with the rest of the family name theme-- probably called Anya by her parents
Finn--> Pyotr -- he really has a Peter vibe to me, and also maybe a “rock” vibe, plus I think it goes with the other names pretty well
Kol--> Konstantin but he’s called Kostya. (So, funny bit of trivia, Kolya is a nickname for Nikolai, so I can almost imagine a situation where Kol somehow gets mistaken for his brother and maybe gives Klaus a bit of a bad reputation wherever that is, and that’s how the Kol nickname develops as a reference to this chaotic episode)

My favorite SGA episodes:
S1 E10 & 11 - The Storm & The Eye
Bro this episode is so cool I cannot even begin to describe it anyway other than AJSNDJSKSKFJ. First of all THE DRAMA, I mean, the way they set the scenery up for these episodes is so good. The coming storm, the wind picking up, the crashing waves, empty city. The bacon conversation between the 2 guards right before the Genii come in is hilarious and I love it. The fact that Sheppard is left as the sole person who can retake Atlantis and save Rodney and Elizabeth is so intense. The way Rodney and him work so seamlessly even while entirely separated is just beautiful, I mean, he immediately knows he somehow has to warn Sheppard of what they're after. The way he slickly leans on the intercom knowing Sheppard will take care of it, AHHH. Not only is every single scene of Sheppard running around sabotaging shit and taking out the Genii who come after him absolutely enthralling, but the emotion he displays when Kolya tells him he's killed Elizabeth, the rage. I cannot get over him yelling over the walkie, completely ignoring the torrential amounts of rain and wind bombarding him. He is a badass and everyone knows it.
I'm just constantly in love with the moments where we're shown just how brave and selfless Rodney is capable of being, how he really is inside. I mean, dude stands between Kolya with his gun, a man he knows will kill, and Elizabeth, AHHH. Not to mention, he's always hilarious even in these situations I mean, "Oh would you look at this?! That is just never gonna be useful again!" (And Sheppard knowing that he was absolutely gonna whine about that). Rodney is a drama queen through and through but I love him.
I also thoroughly love the fact that Rodney put up that danger sign and Sheppard is just like "yup, that'll work".
Rodney's arrogance in the face of danger is always so entertaining, but what I love more is how his team members are always the ones trying desperately to get the person like 2 seconds away form murdering him, not to. Like the way Elizabeth, this tiny woman, grabs onto Kolya as he's about to throw McKay off the platform while he's continuing to sass him is so funny. Then it's immediately wholesome as she runs over to him after he's released.
Teyla, Carson (poor Carson), and Ford all meet up with Sheppard just in time for the last grounding rod to be separated and everyone on Atlantis realizing there's only one place to go and everyone, both sides are going to be there, THE INTENSITY DUDE.
I'm not a fan of Sora, but I have to say, the hallway scene when she confronts Teyla, WOW. I mean the intensity of emotion she displays, the blind anger??? That combined with the fact that Teyla doesn't blink an eye once. She knows she can take her down if she has to, but she doesn't and that is what is so badass. Her priority getting Carson to safety, she has nothing to prove to Sora.
And finally, the gate scene where the Genii evacuate and only Kolya is left standing in front of the portal, Dr. Weir held as a human shield. Kolya makes one fatal mistake, thinking that John Sheppard would miss. He takes him out (temporarily unfortunately), releasing Elizabeth, Teyla and Carson get to safety, and Rodney fuckin McKay saves the day in spectacular fashion as always. A beautiful, absolutely thrilling set of episodes.
S1 E19 & 20 / S2 E1 - Siege pt. 1, 2 & 3
Part one is heartbreaking, I mean we start off so hopeful with the discovery of the satellite. They've done the recon, they know what's coming and when and the satellite is in the perfect position and best of all, the wraith think it's still broken. Everything is coming together, right up until the point Peter gets stuck on the station, there's no time left and they all know it. Even in the way they say they'll see eachother afterwards, they know that's not true. Peter knows he is about to die and he goes to work anyway and he takes out a hive ship. This is a moment of pure joy and hope for everyone, they actually destroyed a hive ship. There's hope again, hope that they can actually win this fight, but it's short lived. The satellite malfunctions, the circuits overloaded and it can't fire again. Rodney tries to come back for him but it's too late, the hive ships know that he's there. It was always going to be too late but that doesn't ease the devastation of watching the satellite be destroyed. It doesn't ease the loss of their friend. Rodney relays this information to Atlantis and the loss of the satellite is devastating, but finding out Peter was aboard, that is what killed their hope. Not to mention that while all of this is happening, back on Atlantis Bates has been attacked and people suspect Teyla due to an earlier altercation. We find out that there's a Wraith in the city and he's been there since the dart incident episodes ago doing god knows what. They're about to be in an all out war and the enemy is already inside. The interrogation provides nothing, as we know of wraith, they fear nothing. Never in the history of this show do we see a wraith beg for their life, no, they smile. They smile because they have no doubt in their minds they will be avenged, that the people who killed them will be fed upon by their brethren soon enough.
Part 2 is in one word, intense. The hive ships are still on the way, slower, but none the less inevitable. They've lost their only weapon against the incoming armada and they're faced with the reality they have to evacuate the only place capable of returning them to the milkyway, and destroy centuries of data. Then, just as they're dialing the alpha site, they get an incoming wormhole. Earth has sent help. The colonel guy bugs the shit out of me but the plan is good. The daedalus is on it's way with a new ZPM, 4 days, that's how long they have to hold out. The way Sheppard stands up for Weir to the Colonel is beautiful, they have their moments butting heads but he respects her and he'll be damned if she gets cut out of this. Now, with military and volunteering personnel recalled back to Atlantis the preparation begins, the city and its citizens being decked out in artillery. Hope is once again starting to appear, but no one is sure how this will turn out, they know what's coming for them but every single person is ready to try. 4 days alone against the armada. They've deployed the mines and initialized the chair but my god does it ever go wrong. They find out there are only a few dozen drones left, presumably depleted from the original war on atlantis, and now the mines are in danger. The Wraith have sent asteroids hurtling towards the atmosphere, taking all of them out in one fail swoop. Not only have they lost their first line of defense, but the radiation is blocking their sensors, they're blind. Now if only someone suggested they keep some of the mines (oh wait SHEPPARD DID). Now it's revealed that Colonel Sumner was a friend of Colonel Everett's and he is pissed at Sheppard. We know, and Sheppard knows that he did the best he could that day. Killing Sumner was the most merciful thing he could've done in that's situation and as much as I dislike Everett, the way he finds out how true that is, is awful. The moment of truth arrives, a wave of darts in inbound and the great city of Atlantis goes dark. The only light being that of the moon and artillery from both sides. Amidst it all McKay and Sheppard are together as always, trying to get the chair online as darts make runs at the city. For the first time Everett starts to get a glimpse at what he's up against as an entire group of his soldiers are taken by a wraith beam, no way to fight back, just gone. The first wave of darts is defeated, they've survived the night but it is far from over. The hive ships are still on their way and there are wraith in the city. Both Athosian and Expedition members alike begin searching the city while Rodney and Zelenka attempt to retrofit the puddle jumpers to be driven by the chair. The only way for this plan to succeed is for Elizabeth to broker a deal with the Genii for a Nuke. She of course succeeds because she's a badass, and another plan is officially on its way, BUT, another problem, the devices are incomplete. The next wave of darts is here and the jumpers aren't ready. "So long Rodney" you could write this off as Rodney being the person who happened to be in the room when he decided to man the jumper manually, but I think we all know that's not the case. He's run off in silence without so much of a word to anyone more times than I can count, but Rodney, he has to say goodbye, even if it's a crappy one. Now we see Colonel Everett backed into the corner, alone with a Wraith. He shoots, but it doesn't stop, it keeps walking towards him and you can see the look on his face change as he fires round after round into it. He knows he's about to die, and he's terrified because he knows how it's going to happen. More and more wraith are entering the city in numbers they can't hope to defend against. "You let Sheppard fly that jumper?" God he is so heart broken in this moment, he never had the chance to stop him but Elizabeth, she had the opportunity and she didn't. I don't think he ever could've truly forgiven her for that if he'd died.
Part 3 is the culmination of everything so far, the wraith are not just at the doorstep they are inside the home, they have surrounded the house and there is nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. Everything they have tried has only prolonged their deaths and Sheppard is on his way to take a hive ship out with him. At the last second he's saved by the Daedalus, but Ford is not so lucky. His squad is cornered by wraith and with his final breath, one of the soldiers let's go of a grenade. Ford and the wraith that had latched on to feed are sent hurtling over the railing into the ocean below. The daedalus brings a moment of relief to the expedition as it prepares to join the fight. They take on the final hive ship as darts continue to bombard the city, this fight isn't over yet. We find out that Everett has been saved by one of his downed squad members, but he is not unscathed. The daedalus takes put the final hive ship with a beamed nuke, but they're not done yet. The darts get in formation and take a ballistic approach towards the city in a last ditch effort. Rodney and Teyla manage to get the ZPM safely to the gate room only for McKay to forget how they work and almost get them killed. Once all is said and done Atlantis survives another day and all that's left is to clear out the rest if the wraith in the city. Now is when we find out just how bad Everett's status is. He's aged significantly, leaving him bedbound and ill. His new understanding of what happened to Colonel Sumner leads him to apologize to Sheppard for his accusations. There is no break as we find the condition of Ford, a wraith attached to his chest, both having been floating in the cold ocean for hours. This has been days of constant activity and it's still not over. The cruisers that fled brought reinforcements, 12 hive ships headed straight for Atlantis and they'll be there in a little over a day. Sheppard decides they should go on the offensive, attack them before they get there and they do. They manage to nuke 2 ships but then we see a perfect example of the level of intelligence the wraith possess. They manage to enact counter measures in a matter of minutes to prevent them from beaming the nukes aboard. The daedalus has no choice, they have to retreat. Ford... his storyline makes me so sad, especially in this episode. The character we love so dearly, this boy who has seen war and conflict and violence and is still so full of joy and love loses himself before our very eyes. Before the eyes of his friends and there's nothing they can do to stop it. He attacks his friends, his fellow soldiers and he can't stop. He's lost all control over himself and it's heartbreaking. Amidst all of that, the hive ships have arrived and they've gathered in formation over Atlantis and have begun to fire. This is a horrifying glimpse into what the war 10,000 years ago must have been like. The amount of firepower being exerted on the shields will deplete the ZPM within days, the ancients had 3 but that's not much more time. Sheppard comes up with the idea to cloak the city and Rodney executes it perfectly, faking their deaths to the wraith and all others. Truly, truly an incredible series of episodes.
S2 E13 - Critical Mass
A Goa'uld infiltrates Atlantis planting a bomb somewhere in the city (or at least they think so). This episode gets so wild, interrogations, suspicion, fear, a race against the clock and the entire episode is just so enthralling. Plus we get a hint of how the Goa'uld fear the possibility of wraith getting to the milkyway (I'm going to do a post about the stack up between Wraith and Goa'uld in a fight here if you're curious as to my thoughts on that)
They manage to relay the message to the Daedalus and then to Atlantis in time but "there's a bomb in Atlantis that'll be triggered by dialing Earth" is not super helpful.
They remove the ZPM but once the virus program realizes the gate is no longer an option if forces their hand by calling the wraith. If they don't connect it again, the wraith will destroy them, if they do, the program will overload the ZPM and destroy them. The hunt for the spy in their ranks is so intense, Kavanagh is almost tortured, the city is about to be destroyed. This all culminates to them finally finding the spy, but it's not a human spy, there's a Goa'uld inside Caldwell! Ronon has to absolutely wail on him, then he gets tazed by Sheppard until the symbiote is hurt enough for Caldwell to break through and give them the code. It's so intense and I love it.
S3 E4 - Sateda
Now this episode is amazing, it's a combination of heartwrenching and completely badass. The team comes across a village Ronon stumbled across during his years as a Runner and as a result it was culled. The villagers recognize him and they're captured (Rodney escaping with an arrow in his ass). Ronon manages to bargain for Sheppard and Teyla's freedom, but they're unable to return fast enough to prevent the wraith from capturing him and wiping out the village.
The wraith makes Ronon a runner once again, but they take out the gate. They won't let him leave alive this time. Now Ronon is faced not only with the threat of basically endless waves of wraith coming to kill him, but also the memories of his home world where they've dropped him. For the first time we see glimpses of what Sateda used to be like, what his life here was like. It's such a heartwrenching experience to see him fighting for his life while remembering the destruction of his previous life at the hands of the very wraith who did it. I mean god, watching him come across the bodies of his fellow soldiers and be forced to strip them of their armour and weapons just to survive...
We never find out much about the other runners aside from Kiryk, but even then we don't find out much. I find it hard to imagine a runner surviving longer than Ronon had honestly, and I believe that's why the wraith that made him one wants him so badly. It's a point if pride at this point, he's evaded them for years slaughtering the wraith who've come after him.
Seeing Ronon try and fail to convince his wife to leave is devastating. She couldn't bear to leave the people who needed her behind even knowing none of them would survive. To make matters worse, we see him watch her die right in front of his eyes. The scenes where he's taking out the shrapnel and remembering her death brings me to tears every time.
The way Ronon immediately slumps down onto the ground once he realizes Sheppard and the team have come for him is just so AHH!
S4 E17 - Midway
This episode is so damn good, first off I mean, we get the absolute treat that is Teal'c and I'm THRILLED. Not to mention we get to see him AND Ronon together and that is just a trip. Teal'c matches his energy and holds his ground and I love him. Ronon is very off putting to pretty much anyone whose not his team or someone he isn't comfy with yet. This is very apparent many times and his meeting Teal'c is no exception. He's immediately threatening and guarded, but does this throw Teal'c off? Hell no!
These two have clashed the entire time so far and now it's time to go back to Earth. There's of course the 24 hour hold on the midway station, nothing too crazy right? WRONG, the wraith show up! Now all that's standing between Earth and a wraith take over is Ronon and Teal'c. These two are undeniable badasses and forces of nature and we get to see that front and center here and I love it. I mean, these two entirely on their own, take out all the wraith that stormed the SGC. That's a lot of wraith!! Not to mention they're awesome as hell while doing it. I just love this episode a lot and I love Teal'c and Ronon a lot. Also, the least irritaing/infuriating episode with Kavanagh in it.
S5 E10 & 11 - First Contact & The Lost Tribe
I love this episode so much. Right off the bat we get Daniel again. Love that mf. There are also 2 intense ass plotlines happening simultaneously here with Daniel and Rodney being kidnapped by rogue Asguard (like, holy shit), and then the activation of the Attero device causing Todd to panic and take over the Daedalus leaving Keller and Ronon to try and take it back!
Ok so we've got Daniel and Rodney discovering the ancient lab, being the hilarious duo that they are. Everything is fine until this strange ship shows up. Not only is this a ship that they've never seen before, but it completely bypasses Atlantis's shields. Then we see 3 suited up aliens leap from the ship onto the tower. Fall damage? Never heard of it. These things completely ignore the strike team Sheppard and Teyla lead, taking some sort of device straight through the floors of the tower while getting shot at. They head straight for Daniel and Rodney and there is no hesitation and no stopping them. One of them sacrifices itself to shield the other 2 while they get away with Rodney, Daniel, and the device and it's over before they even know what's happened.
Now we get Keller and Ronon alone on the Daedalus as Todd has knocked out the bridge crew. It's up to them now to regain control as wraith beam aboard.
Part 2 starts off wild with the Daedalus taken over and the stargate exploding in the control room with Sheppard and Radek inside. Now both groups have realized what this device is doing and are trying to fix it before millions die, problem is, Todd wants to destroy the facility with Daniel and Rodney still inside so Sheppard and Zelenka along with the Traveler ship are trying to beat them there! Meanwhile Daniel is discovering that they're being held captive by Asgard. This is mindblowing because so far we've seen zero evidence of them in the Pegasus galaxy and now we find out that they've been hiding out here for a long ass time. We also find out that they have been conducting experiments on humans like Loki did and have sorta stabilized their cloning defects.
The fact that they came to the Pegasus Galaxy and took advantage of the war in order to hide and experiment and did nothing to help the Ancients win makes me so mad. What if they could've won with their help?
My god the tension at the end portion of this episode is wild!!! The Daedalus has been retaken but it's on a collision course with the facility, Sheppard and the Traveler ship arrived but their drive is burned out, the Asgard have left the facility, but they took the control device with them leaving Daniel and Rodney with no way to shut it down. Rodney of course figures out another way, but that means going inside the chamber that is currently full of volatile lighting.
They of course succeed and in such a fantastical way with the Traveler ship opening a hyperspace window to travel through the planet with the Daedalus and Daniel almost dying while they shut off the device.
Overall, I love these episodes so much, the intensity, the sass between Daniel and Rodney, it's so good.
S5 E14 - The Prodigal
This episode is so intense and just awesome in general. Atlantis is under siege from Michael and his hybrids, Teyla and her baby have been taken captive, and everyone but Ronon and some gate room personnel are trapped outside this stun bubble thing. Sheppard, Rodney, and Zelenka immediately get to work and as soon as Ronon is awake he starts formulating a plan. The fight scene between Ronon and Michael is amazing as always, not to mention him yelling for Teyla to run and being the reason she's able to get her and her baby to safety before he gets hurled over the railing. That man can take a beating god damn. Sheppard and Rodney quickly get to work trying to shut down the stun bubble but Michael starts the self destruct timer, expediting their timeline. Teyla's escape is fantastic I mean the stress you can see on her face is so amazing, she's a fighter and always has been but she has to get her baby out of there, she has to leave Ronon to fight Michael by himself and it's killing her. Once they finally do shut it down (avoiding Sheppard's suicide run), they can finally storm the gate room. Michael makes a run for it but Sheppard is so not letting that happen, the jumper bay doors are closed, the gate room is retaken, there's nowhere for him to run anymore. They end up on this balcony and it's one of my favorite fight scenes of all time, the moonlight, the height, the batman like scenery, fists flying, it's so intense. We've been waiting for this moment for so long, the final confrontation and BOOM, Teyla enters. Her face is stoic, she is determined and no one will stop her, he will not get away this time. She lands every hit with no mercy and when he finally topples over the edge, gripping on only by his fingertips, she kicks him off. It's so intense and such a fitting end to his storyline in my opinion, for it to end in Atlantis where it started and to be ended by Teyla.
S5 E20 - Enemy at the Gate
Ah the finale of Stargate Atlantis. I'm really sad the show ended prematurely but this episode is still amazing. Not only has a hive ship started to successfully integrate a ZPM into it (a feat which if fully completed, would make it virtually impenetrable), but because of their new advanced sensors they've also picked up the signal with Earth's location from the alternate reality. Now there's an incredibly advanced hive ship on it's way to Atlantis and 2 ships have already failed to stop it. It's up to Atlantis to save Earth and the Milly way now. Sheppard is sent to Earth ahead to operate the chair in case they don't make it in time but that communique also contained the location of the chair and they immediately destroy it. Earth is defenseless so Sheppard takes a suicide run at the hive (again), only to be saved by Rodney, Teyla, Ronon, and Lorne gating aboard from a stalled Atlantis. They all make it out alive (although Ronon did briefly die and I cried), thanks to the spectacular arrival of Atlantis via the wormhole drive. They buy enough time in a fantastical battle above Earth for them to escape and the hive is destroyed. The scene of Atlantis on Earth is so beautiful and the whole main cast on the balcony, just fantastic.
If you can't tell, I love this show so much and if for some reason you're seeing this and haven't watched it yet, please do, it's amazing.

There are a lot of references and quotes in Fragments, and I decided it would be a good idea to put them all down in one place. Originally, I was going to add footnotes, but I thought they interrupted the flow of the story (also, this is a fanfic, not one of my term papers!). So I made a special page here.
“Imp,” he begins, relieved that his voice has not been stolen too, “I am looking for my heart.”—One of Anastasia’s nicknames, shvibzik, is often translated as “imp.”
  “She’s a big bow-wow, but she’ll help you.”—One of Maria’s nicknames was “fat little bow-wow.” Ouch!
“All of us kiss you.”—Letter from Anastasia to Nicholas, March 7, 1915
Before Ivan can say anything, she gathers up her skirts and makes a mad dash for the cherry trees.—The setting of Russia’s dream vision of Maria is inspired by Chekov’s The Cherry Orchard.
“My darling beloved, how are you?”—Letter from Maria to Anya Vyrubova, January 12, 1918
“Do you want me to go to Sverdlovsk, sir?-- In 1924, Yekaterinburg was renamed Sverdlovsk after the revolution leader Yakov Sverdlov. It became Yekaterinburg again after the fall of the Soviet Union. In 1960, the Ipatiev House was still standing, hence Khrushchev’s desire to keep Russia from going there, lest the sight of it brings up unwanted memories.
“That American pilot?”—The U-2 Spy Incident
“Olga’s having a little bit of a hard time, but I am doing all right.”—Olga eventually had a nervous breakdown during her time as a nurse. It occurred to me rereading that this is the first time one of the girls’ names is used in the fic. It was unintentional, but I think it’s a sign of Russia’s memories growing stronger.
”The lady waits for him in the middle of the pond, a statuesque beacon wrapped in white fur.”—See Viktor Vasnetsov’s painting Snegurochka and this photo of Olga and Tatiana. I don't call Tatiana the Snow Maiden, but that's essentially the role she fills in Russia's dream.
“The trees are beginning to blossom here now, it’s very beautiful.”—Letter from Tatiana to Nicholas, April 27, 1916
“When did it bloom?” and “When I look at a solitary oak”—Tatiana quotes two poems by Alexander Pushkin, “The Flower” and “Thoughts”, respectively. Olga and Tatiana were named after the sisters in Pushkin’s Eugene Onegin. Olga was the poetry nerd, not Tatiana, so it is a signal that it’s time for Russia to go.
“In the distance, he spies a dazzling white palace situated atop a pebbly beach.”—Livadia Palace, favorite summer retreat of the Imperial family and the location of the Yalta Conference.
“He finds the princess inside sitting in front of a large painting.”—Why is Olga the Princess and not Tatiana? Part of it is because Olga was the eldest and the other is a reference to Olga’s patron saint, Princess Olga of Kiev.
“The painting is a haunting thing. A tsar, his eyes wild with terror and grief, cradles the body of the son he has just struck down in a fit of rage.”—Ilya Repin’s Ivan the Terrible and His Son Ivan on 16 November 1581.
“Only love.”—From Olga’s famous letter, “Father asks me to tell all who have remained loyal to him and those over who they might have influence, that they should not avenge him, for he has forgiven everyone and prays for them all; that they should not themselves seek revenge; that they should remember that the evil there is now is in the world will become yet more powerful, and that it is not evil that will conquer evil – only love.”
“Give patience, Lord, to us thy children…”—Prayer copied in one of Olga’s notebooks
“It swells into an egg, gilded and covered in red enamel.”--Can’t have an experimental, dream-like introspective fic of Russia’s relationship with the Romanovs without bringing in Fabergé’s eggs. Some fusion of the Rosebud Egg and the Imperial Coronation Egg is how I imagined Olga’s egg.
“That woman who said she was one of your princesses? Is she real?”—America is, of course, talking about Anna Anderson.
“What are you doing, Alyosha?”—The Dostoyevsky references run wild in this section. The use of Alexei’s nickname and Russia’s name (instead of Vanya) is a reference to The Brothers Karamazov.
“All the sisters send greetings to you.”—From Alexei’s last letter to his friend Kolya Derevenko.
“I am building a little monument for myself in the woods, since no one else will do it.”-- In 1912, when he was dying from one of his hemophilia attacks, he told Alexandra, “When I am dead, build me a little monument of stones in the woods.
“It is better to be unhappy and know the worst, than to be happy in a fool’s paradise.”—Dostoyevsky, The Idiot
“On our earth we can only love with suffering and through suffering. We cannot love otherwise, and we know of no other sort of love’?”—Dostoyevsky, The Dream of a Ridiculous Man
“Inside is a large golden egg.”—Fabergé’s first Imperial Easter egg, the Hen Egg, although that one was white, not gold and much smaller than Russia’s egg. The surprise was a little gold hen, a pendant, and a crown.
“Inside is a crown.”—The Russia Imperial Crown.
“May I be damned! May I be damned!”—Ivan the Terrible after fatally hitting his son, “May I be damned! I’ve killed my son! I’ve killed my son!”
“Lord, forgive me for everything!”—Tolstoy, Anna Karenina
“You and I both know I have not been batyushka for a very long time.”-- Batyushka and matushka, often translated as little father, little mother
“Do you remember when my birthday was?”—Nicholas’s question and the comment about Job are from a conversation he had with Peter Stolypin.
“All my pretty chickens and their dam at one fell swoop.”—Macbeth, act 4, scene 3
“Though thou exalt thyself as the eagle, and thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the Lord.”—Obadiah, chapter 1, verse 4. Alexandra and Tatiana read this verse during the afternoon of July 16, 1918.
“Oh Vanya. Poor Vanya. ‘You will burn and you will burn out; you will be healed and come back again’.” He kisses both of Russia’s cheeks. “‘Life will bring you through.’”—Dostoyevsky quotes again, the first from The Brothers Karamazov, the second from Crime and Punishment
“Here a cedar…”—Poem by Vladimir Mayakovsky, after visiting the Romanov burial site in 1928
“I am too old, and I loved you too much.”—From The Brothers Karamazov, “I am too young, and I’ve loved you too much.”
“But Russia did not throw himself down in a canal or the path of an oncoming train. He did not shoot himself.”—Shamlessly stolen from Anna Karenina, book 8, chapter 9: “And, happy in his family life, a healthy man, Levin was several times so close to suicide that he hid a rope lest he hang himself with it, and was afraid to go about with a rifle lest he shoot himself. But Levin did not shoot himself or hang himself and went on living.”

30 Day Writing Challenge;; Day 2
Character A to Character B: “holy crap this is a terrible idea”
"Holy crap, this is a terrible idea."
Peter felt his eyes roll, fingers tapping idly at his desk as he shot his sister a warning look. The open notebook on his desk had so many scribbled notes that he was sure he would go blind looking over them all. The plan was simple, totally and completely simple and all he had to do was not lose his nerve. All he had to do was not fuck everything up or get so nervous that he threw up on Kolya's shoes or something. It was getting closer to time. Closer to that fateful moment, but for now, all he could do was repeat the plan over and over again in his head.
Because tonight was the damn night that he finally worked up the nerve to ask Kolya on a real damn date. None of this studying and sending coy looks over text books. None of the will they-won't they lingering smiles and casual touches. He didn't want to make a big deal out of the whole thing, but he definitely wanted Kolya to know that this was way more than casual flirting for him. He wanted some cheesy high school romance, completely with seeing Kolya walking around proudly wearing his letterman jacket, cheering him on at football games. He wanted to take drives in his beat up old pick-up truck and go to movies together and support all of Kolya's hopes and dreams for after high school ended. He had heard a few during those library study sessions. He had hung on every word, and found that his own dreams shifted to wrap around them. Maybe it was lame, maybe a little obsessive. Maybe Peter was too young to declare himself in love at 17 years old. He didn't care. Because he needed to know if whatever he felt, if it had any hope to fly. If Kolya felt the same way, or simply saw him as a friend.
"Earth to doorknob." Marisol's knuckles rapped against the top of his head, not at all gently, and he shook his head a bit, eyes narrowing a bit as he returned his attention from his daydreaming back to his sister. She made a face at him before letting out a harsh sigh. "Has it ever occured to you that Kolya might not like the big public display? What if you embarrass him? What if he hates it and runs off? This whole scheme could completely blow any shot you might have."
And he... hadn't thought of that. Not in the slightest. Suddenly, his heart was hammering in his chest too hard. His fingers were drumming a bit harder. God, he had no backup plan, but Marisol might have been right. Maybe this was a bad idea.
No. No he couldn't back out, now. "Just help me with my face, please?"
-----
The dance was already in full swing as Peter rolled in, Marisol beside him, though his sister quickly disappeared into the crowd the moment they'd made it through the doors. He scanned the room, eyes landing on a few of his friends off to the side, sipping punch from red cups and laughing about something. A hand lifted to push curly hair from his eyes. He'd let it go wild tonight, remembering an offhanded comment Kolya'd once made about liking it curly, though if he'd had it his way, he would have slicked it back and out of his face. His scan of the room didn't make it too far before eyes landed on Kolya and his entire brain seemed to freeze. The man looked incredible. Stunning. Peter's nerves shot to one hundred, especially when it seemed that the other boy looked up and saw him immediately. He seemed to be in the middle of a chat with Sorin, but he lifted a hand and waved, flashing a smile that had Peter practically melting as he returned it, and the wave. He might have made his way over, but he couldn't. He couldn't yet.
The plan.
The dance was boring. Both running by too quickly and dragging on forever. The key event, crowning the Homecoming King and Queen. That was the part he needed to get to. He was almost positive that he was going to win King. It wasn't necessarily narcissism, just the fact that he was likeable, and he had heard plenty of 'totally voting for you, Pete's over the past few weeks. It felt like years before the class president was taking the stage, tapping on the mic to get everyone's attention and finally, finally pulling an envelope from his pocket. His plan hinged on him winning. He could only cross his fingers and hold his breath as the Queen was announced first. No surprise when Savannah Grace won. She was charming and pretty. Nice. People liked her. But he couldn't even find it in him to be congratulatory as the boy cleared his throat to cut through the cheers. "And now, for our homecoming king..."
Time stood still, and Peter felt himself getting dizzy from holding his breath. He nearly missed it, missed his name being called. But... his name was called and he felt his sister, suddenly materalizing from the crowd to slap his back and shove him toward the stage. He took the stairs with shakey legs, knelt to let Savannah put the crown on his head, offered her a nervous grin.
"And now, our King and Queen, the floor is yours for a dance."
Savannah's hand was taken by a boy who Peter vaguely recalled was called 'Jimmy', but his eyes were only on Kolya now. He jumped from the stage without using the stairs, he cut a path through the students, who seemed to make a path for the man on a mission, and finally. Finally he reached Kolya and god did he look even better up close. From a distance he was breath-taking, but up close. Peter thought he might faint for a moment before he finally remembered why he was here in the first place. He held a hand out, hoping beyond hope that Kolya didn't notice or ignore the shake in it. "Would you do me the honor of dancing with me?" A pause, and he cleared his throat, biting his lip for a moment before adding, in a voice more quiet, meant only for the man in front of him, "There would be no greater honor in the world than sharing this moment with you. Just you."

@samsonfrisk
After the extremely... informative job interview, Peter knew that he couldn’t keep avoiding Samson (again). Some part of his mind had told him that the boy probably didn’t want to see him, after his fight with Peter’s best friend. It was a logical fallacy that Peter had buried himself in, the idea that because Peter had a tenuous connection with the vampire that had attacked his sister (and that new information brought a lot more to light about why Samson had lost control in the first place) meaning that he was just as bad.
But he couldn’t simply keep avoiding his problems like they would just go away if he did, and beyond that he was extremely worried about Samson. He had seen the state that Kolya had been in after their fight, and he wasn’t stupid enough to think that the vampire hadn’t fought back against the bear. It made no sense to think that, and he wasn’t an idiot besides.
Well, yes maybe he was an idiot, but that wasn’t the point.
He was nervous when he entered the bakery, three days after the job interview because he couldn’t quite bring himself to stop in that same day, noting that the place seemed rather quiet, and his hands shoved into his pockets defensively. Approaching the counter felt like walking to the chopping block. He couldn’t handle losing another person who had wormed their way into his life right now. Another friend. Or something. Lines were a bit hazy when it came to Samson, but... His heart was already broken enough. If this was going to end badly, Peter could only hope that it was quick, like a slap.
“Samson?” He tried to keep the tone even, neutral, but there was a waiver, nerves creeping in and making it impossible to hide. “Are you here?”
