08.06.19 //
I skimmed through Human Rights law book that my girlfriend has. My, oh my, the list of cases is already giving me the feels (lengthy cases). Most were supposedly read and discussed in Constitutional law class though (but not mine).
Anyway, have a good day! 💜

Days 021 & 022 of 131 //
Hello, September!
Yes, today marks the beginning of the -ber months. That probably is not a big deal for most of you. So, let me share a bit of what we have here in the Philippines.
Back in the day, when our season was not either full-on summer or days of tropical storm (in lieu of moonsoon), we get to experience this cold breeze brought by amihan or north east moonsoon starting in the month of September until December, or Christmas season. That’s four months (motly extended until February, when it’s the coldest in countries north of ours) of bed weather, with some days of rains or thunderstorms. This is basically the origin of the Philippines being the country which celebrate Christmas the longest. It’s about the weather. For me, at least. Okay, now I just feel old being able to experience that.
Now, back to productivity. This weekend, I:
Attended Public International Law class (still no professor, but with a promise that we’ll have class next week for sure)
Attended Credit Transactions class (I wasn’t called for recitation!)
Wrote case digests for Criminal Procedure
Studied for Agency, Partnership & Trust recit +quiz
The coming week will be difficult and I’m having trouble keeping it together. I am trying tho. You should, too! Have a good day! 💜

Days 007, 008, 009, 010 of 131 //
My weekend was quite tiring—physically and mentally—and it will be for the next few months. Readings start to pile up and additional requirements (those case digests!) are lining up as well.
The past four days, I:
Attended Public International Law (still no professor, and will most likely be the same next meeting because he is with our school reps for moot court competition in Korea)
Attended Credit Transactions class
Attended Criminal Procedure class
Studied for Agency, Trusts & Partnership (ATAP) class
Attended Alternative Dispute Resolution class (our professor is the only Filipino in the approved faculty list of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators)
Attended English for Lawyers 2 (gotta flex our professor here, too; we get to learn study techniques from the world's fastest reader!)
Wednesday is a regular holiday so, thank goodness I don't have to study for Human Rights, yet.
Agenda for the next few days:
Study for Criminal Procedure
Study and write notes for ATAP
Attend ATAP class
Study and write notes for Credit Transactions
Quote of the day:

Day 002 of 131 //
Today, I:
Attended Criminal Procedure class [no professor yet]
Scanned an old ass book for my girlfriend's Conflict of Laws class [they were allowed to because the library has limited copies and it's no longer available in market]
And as I scan the book, I came across the page above. Handwriting suggests that there were three different people who wrote therein, probably in three different times. Who knows? I know that was considered defacing since the book was school's property, but the message got me. It's written in Filipino (with enclosed rough translation) Thus, our—
Quote of the day:
"kamusta ka naman?"
How are you?
"ok lng ikaw?"
I'm fine, and you?
"oo. Ikaw din sana. Magiging abogado ka, kapit lang. :)"
Yes. I hope you are, too. You will be a lawyer, just hold on. :)

Days 017, 018, 019 & 020 of 131 //
The past few days I:
Studied for Human Rights
Wrote case digests for CrimPro
Studied for Agency, Trust & Partnership
Attended ATAP class
Rearranged stuff in our room
Studied for Credit Transactions
I was unable to attend my HR class and that marked my first absent for this semester. To be honest, I was feeling down and I'm just recently getting my groove back. Law school is already hard as it is but even more difficult when things take its toll on you.
So, rest up! Give yourself a break every now and then. Reward yourself with little things—taste that new brew, buy that donut, hug that person—indulge yourself. Those things keep you going. As short term as it may be, sometimes, that's all we need.

Day 003 of 131 //
Today, I:
Made an attendance tracker for the whole semester
Scanned a book for Labor Standards
Went to meet my mom
I had two classes scheduled for today, Alternative Dispute Resolution and English for Lawyers 2, but since it is holiday, I get an extra day off.

Days 023 & 024 of 131 //
Yesterday, I attended two classes: Alternative Dispute Resolution and English for Lawyers 2. Today, I am to study for Human Rights. However, I am currently sidetracked by the oral arguments in the Supreme Court re Aquino v. Aquino which is about legitimacy of a child.
The counsel for petitioner was getting destroyed. Justice Leonen literally said, non-verbatim,
"You realize you just destroyed your client's case?"
This is law school elevated by 10000.
And this, ladies and gentlemen, is what socratic method emulates. It is unforgiving and I hate it so much. But, it prepares, if not save, one from sheer humiliation.

Days 028, 029 & 030 of 131 //
It has already been month and I have so much writing to do. Fortunately, I don't have any backlogs—just some soft copies needing some writing because that's how I revise and remember most things.
The past weekend, I:
Studied for Criminal Procedure
Finally found a ring binder in our local bookstore and a temporary substitute for my pastel highlighter
Went home to visit my mom and my grandmother 💜
Studied for Agency, Trust & Partnership
P.S. the ramen was prepared by my girlfriend. 💜 Ya'll have a great day!
