Day 2 of the photo a day challenge

8.1.15 @jacsfishburne in the studio. there’s much to love about this photo & there’s a little bit to just give yourself a gentle ole face palm about too. it’s like a lot of things in my body if work, less than perfect, but i still like it and i’d still share it. i feel like this was the time i had picked up jacs from the train and we talked a bit about where my head was with what i was shooting talked about how i didn’t like how some of my photos had been sexualized via unsolicited internet commentary i was concerned about how the photos of (and especially of) naked women were being viewed and how i really didn’t want to make work that would get those gross comments and that maybe we’d not shoot her nude. again i think this was the time of that conversation because of memories serves me correct she walked into the room threw her clothes off and basically put me into a position to make some of the best nude work i’d ever made. as i hopped from folder to folder looking for a new unseen unedited raw photo to post for the day today i knew this was it the second i saw it. “flaws” and all. if there is anything’s that this 365 project has taught me it is how to be a better selector of my own photos. how to treat them as minimally as possible in post. how to not post too much. not that there’s much interest by the world at large in my work but i am certainly thankful anyone of you followed along and maybe engaged me or taught me something along the way. this is probably going to become my photography page. i’ll keep the other for personal stuff and maybe dump the new stuff i shot here from now on. any objections to that? also thought about doing one of those trying to shoot one new photo a day or just shooting 365 new photos intentionally and only posting one day for the year. #makeportraits #aphotoaday #photo365 #fineartnude #acceptthatitiscrooked (at Jersey City, New Jersey) https://www.instagram.com/myphotographslie/p/Bpkc52flV3D/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=3q9cck7bot1r
