It is 4:03pm on a Thursday afternoon. The skies are grey, and the rain is so light it’s practically a wet fog. You have not touched Shouto in any meaningful way since Monday.

Before this week Shouto was certain that he must have been absorbed into a long-standing state of neutrality and apathy as a child. He didn’t long for anything, atleast, not in the way his friends claimed to. Whiny professions of loneliness, lamenting over romantic relationships and sex or lack thereof, dreamily recounting their passionate escapades. It didn’t appeal much to him.

Shouto had what he needed to survive—to live his day to day and climb the ranks without disruption, and it seemed that affection was not one of those things. The Todoroki household had never been particularly affectionate anyway. After his mother was admitted to the psychiatric hospital touch became less associated with comfort and happiness, and more of a thing to avoid altogether.

Shouto never actually voiced an aversion to touch. He held hands with crying children as he walked them back to their parents. He rubbed the backs of countless scared victims, he let them wrap around his arm and squeeze until his fingers grew numb. He offered his left side to elderly folk in the colder weather as they waited to be loaded into an ambulance.

But these small instances were always initiated by him, and his well-meaning friends decided to leave the ball in his court sometime during highschool. It never really left.

Until—

“Can I hug you?” you blurted. Your expression quickly twisted into a sheepish grimace. “You look like you could do with one, is all”.

At that moment Shouto had been sitting in the infirmary half covered in soot and picking out the bits of rubble that managed to get inside his suit’s ventilator. He stared up at you and wondered what that would even look like on himself, lifting a hand to feel his face and finding it relatively normal.

The sound of his heart flooded his ears and he frowned at the reaction. You weren’t a new friend by any means, but Shouto scarcely made new friends so you are newer than the others. You’ve never tried to be physically affectionate but he’s caught you gazing at him fondly sometimes, when you think he’s none the wiser, and he likes it.

Shouto nodded. Why, he doesn’t know. To quell your anxiety and get rid of the awkward atmosphere, he reasoned. Then your lips pulled into a soft, pleased smile, and he felt it like the sun on his face.

You stepped forward as though approaching some skittish animal. Shouto made no move to stand. He had only watched with trepidation as your hands lifted. A breath caught in his throat as they extended to rest on his sloped shoulders. “I’ll get you dirty,” he murmured dumbly in afterthought.

“That’s okay,” you replied, barely above a whisper. Your arms slipped around his back gently, and soon tightened to a secure hold when no objection came—there could be none, because the instant Shouto’s cheek pressed against your soft stomach, a rush of adrenaline speared through him and swept away all conscious thought.

To Shouto touch was like skipping a rock through the cavity in his chest; doing it only ever made its presence more obvious. But you cradled him there for what seemed like hours and he felt warm in ways he couldn’t articulate. Your fingers danced aimless patterns along the top of his spine, sometimes pausing to curl the wispy hair at his nape around them, and he sank.

True to his word, Shouto had dirtied your clothes. He apologised when you pulled away because it was all he could do not to whimper. You didn’t spare your shirt a glance—you just smiled at him again, and said you hoped it helped.

Helped? Helped?

The weight of your embrace had lingered for hours, cloven to the forefront of his mind, clinging to the memory before it became too obscure. Only now the memory hurt him to think about, and the pervasive ache for more intensified as the days passed.

Just this morning he’d wrapped his bedsheets tight and drew them around his shoulders to simulate that same feeling. Closed his eyes and inhaled deeply, picturing you there. Your sweet, purposeful touches. Your comforting scent. Your chest rising and falling. Your voice rumbling against his cheek. Heat filled his body, like you’d reached inside and turned the spigot of his heart.

It was mortifying. And exhilarating.

Shouto stuck his hand out from the shelter of the awning and let the rain lick at his fingers. Overturning his wrist, catching them on the shallow of his palm, he contemplates how he can get you to touch him again.

Last time you said he simply looked like he needed it. Too frustrating and vague, not to mention Shouto has been needing it all week. You could have meant his grimy post-battle appearance, but he didn’t really think this should warrant being thrown from another high rise building. Maybe he has to earn it this time.

You’re standing beside him, too preoccupied by the emails on your phone to notice his dilemma. Things have been fine. No awkwardness on your part, which he should probably be pleased about, but his mind keeps veering beyond rational conjecture. Nothing had changed. Everything had changed. It all felt too one sided.

Shouto gives you a sidelong glance. You might be the only person he knows that can look alluring in the dreary afternoon light. With a sigh he lets his hand drop to his hip and wipes it on his dry suit.

Your thumbs move fast across the screen. “Sorry, Shouto. I promise I’m not ignoring you—just need to reply to this intern,” you tell him. “God, have I ever mentioned how much I hate the email software your agency uses? Because I do”.

He hums, “You have”.

Whatever you hear in his voice has you looking up. There’s a crease etched in your brow, expression open and apologetic. Your gaze flickers to the hand held to his front, where he’s working out the static in his knuckles.

“Are you cold?” you ask, pocketing your phone. It’s a silly question. He is a walking furnace. But Shouto is statuesque as you reach to cup his distinctly bigger hand with your own. Heat prickles under his skin. The staccato of his heart kicks up. You lean down to exhale a warm breath over his fingers, and stroke your thumb along the dips and peaks of his knuckles.

Shouto sends a mental apology to Kaminari for the halfhearted response he gave after a long, lovestruck monologue about his girlfriend’s hands. He thinks he gets it, now.

Your lips curl into a satisfied smile. “Better?” you scan his face and the smile falters. “Shit. Sorry, Shouto. I should’ve asked,” then you’re retreating again and—

He reflexively grabs your wrist. It’s a loose grip, enough for you to free yourself from. You pause. “No,” a puff of steam billows out from his mouth and he has enough presence of mind to be embarrassed by it. “…It’s fine. You don’t have to stop”.

Your concern dwindles into amusement as he wafts it away. “Alright,” you say placatingly. The tension alleviates, and when your fingers slip against his you immediately twine them together, taking the ache in his chest with it. “Is this ‘fine’ too?”

Shouto nods, not yet trusting his voice or his quirk.

“I wasn’t sure if I crossed any lines on Monday,” your eyes dipped to stare at the pavement as you continued. “I know you aren’t touchy feely like the others. They were… surprised when I mentioned the hug”.

“I didn’t think I was,” he swallows, flexing his fingers to squeeze your hand. “I liked it”.

You squeeze back, “You did?”

Shouto squeezes harder, and can’t stop the smile coming unbidden to his lips. “I did,” he says.

You meet his gaze. He’s pinned by that fond look you always try to hide from him. “Do you want another one, then?”

“But I didn’t do anything”.

A litany of emotion passes over your face at his response. There’s determination in the purse of your lips as you step into his space, entangled hands caught between your bodies. Wrapping an arm around his waist, you tuck your nose into the hollow where his jaw met his neck.

There’s a clumsiness to his movements as he follows your lead and slips his arm around your back. Head suddenly too heavy for his neck, he rests his cheek on your crown, melting into the embrace.

“You don’t need to earn my affection, Shouto. Not now and not ever”.

“Oh,” Shouto breathes. “I can just ask?”

“You can,” you laugh softly.

Why hadn’t he thought to just—ask. That is far more reasonable than being flung from another burning high rise.

“What?”

Ah. He pulls you further into his chest until you’re pressed together like the pages of a book. “Nothing”.

A taxonomy of corporate bullshit

I. Pure denial

As far back as the slave trade, corporate apologists and mouthpieces have led by asserting that true things are false, and vice-versa. In 1837, John Calhoun asserted that "Never before has the black race of Central Africa, from the dawn of history to the present day, attained a condition so civilized and so improved, not only physically, but morally and intellectually." George Fitzhugh called enslaved Africans in America "the freest people in the world."

This tactic never went away. Children sent to work in factories are "perfectly happy." Polluted water is "purer than the water that came from the river before we used it." Poor families "don't really exist." Pesticides don't lead to "illness or death." Climate change is "beneficial." Lead "helps guard your health."

II. Markets can solve problems, governments can't

Alan Greenspan made a career out of blithely asserting that markets self-correct. It was only after the world economy imploded in 2008 that he admitted that his doctrine had a "flaw":

No matter how serious a problem is, the market will fix it. In 1973, the US Chamber of Commerce railed against safety regulations, because "safety is good business," and could be left to the market. If unsafe products persist in the market, it's because consumers choose to trade safety off "for a lower price tag" (Chamber spox Laurence Kraus). Racism can't be corrected with anti-discrimination laws. It's only when "the market" realizes that racism is bad for business that it will finally be abolished.

III. Consumers and workers are to blame

In 1946, the National Coal Association blamed rampant deaths and maimings in the country's coal-mines on "carelessness on the part of men." In 2003, the National Restaurant Association sang the same tune, condemning nutritional labels because "there are not good or bad foods. There are good and bad diets." Reagan's interior secretary Donald Hodel counseled personal responsibility to address a thinning ozone layer: "people who don’t stand out in the sun—it doesn’t affect them."

IV. Government cures are always worse than the disease

Lee Iacocca called 1970's Clean Air Act "a threat to the entire American economy and to every person in America." Every labor and consumer protection before and since has been damned as a plague on American jobs and prosperity. The incentive to work can't survive Social Security, welfare or unemployment insurance. Minimum wages kill jobs, etc etc.

V. Helping people only hurts them

Medicare will "destroy private initiative for our aged to protect themselves with insurance" (Republican Senator Milward Simpson, 1965). Covid relief is unfair to people that are currently in the workforce" (Republican Governor Brian Kemp, 2021). Welfare produces "learned helplessness."

VI. Everyone who disagrees with me is a socialist

Grover Cleveland's 2% on top incomes is "communistic warfare against rights of property" (NY Tribune, 1895). "Socialized medicine" will leave "our children and our children’s children [asking] what it once was like in America when men were free" (Reagan, 1961).

Everything is "socialism": anti-child labor laws, Social Security, minimum wages, family and medical leave. Even fascism is socialism! In 1938, the National Association of Manufacturers called labor rights "communism, bolshevism, fascism, and Nazism."

As Dayen says, it's refreshing to see how the right hasn't had an original idea in 150 years, and simply relies on repeating the same nonsense with minor updates. Right wing ideological innovation consists of finding new ways to say, "actually, your boss is right."

The left's great curse is object permanence: the ability to remember things, like the fact that it used to be possible for a worker to support a family of five on a single income, or that the economy once experienced decades of growth with a 90%+ top rate of income tax (other things the left manages to remember: the "intelligence community" are sociopathic monsters, not Trump-slaying heroes).

When the business lobby rails against long-overdue antitrust action against Amazon and Google, object permanence puts it all in perspective. The talking points about this being job-destroying socialism are the same warmed-over nonsense used to defend rail-barons and Rockefeller. "If you don't like it, shop elsewhere," has been the corporate apologist's line since slavery times.

As Dayen says, Corporate Bullshit is a "reference book for conservative debating points, in an attempt to rob them of their rhetorical power." It will be out on Halloween:

you choose to not have the child? that’s cool, adam will literally take care of everything for you if you want. he will try to be extra nice to you during that time. he over compensates a lot with his emotional unavailability by buying you lots of stuff. i do feel like he would not initiate anything sexual after that, you have to make the first step. which could also cause issues by you thinking he’s mad at you for getting pregnant because it does take 2 😭 and adam does express affection through physical touch/sex

i do feel like, no matter the choice, that’s something that could make or break a relationship. it’s all about communication and adam is literally the anti communicator. so there’s that. no matter what you personally choose tho, he tries his best to be supportive, even though it doesn’t always feel like it

Random Ominis Gaunt headcanons

Random Ominis Gaunt headcanons by me!

Aight I’ve been waiting a little while for this cutie. 

Probably got his wand at a younger age than most wizards/witches so that he’d be able to learn how to navigate around easier. 

Mom friend 

Sleeps anywhere, especially in the day because it’s always dark for him so it doesn’t need to be night for him to be super tired. 

He has more siblings than people think he’d have (this is actually canon). I’d say he has at least four siblings. Two older brothers, an older sister, and a younger sister. 

His family was actually concerned for a bit when he was born blind. After all the Gaunts strive for perfection and having a child with a disability wasn’t exactly the most ideal situation. They tried everything they could to give him proper eyesight but nothing worked. 

This did cause a bit of an initial rift between him and his family that was only exacerbated by the fact that he didn’t agree with them using the dark arts. 

Because he’s blind, he has really good hearing. He has a pretty decent sense of smell but his hearing is one of his strongest senses. 

It's part of the reason why he knows everything going on at Hogwarts. He’s always lurking around and sometimes even pretending to be asleep but because he’s already falling asleep in random places nobody questions it. But he hears everything, so he knows all the gossip. 

His ego is pretty big, but unlike Sebastian, he doesn’t let it show when his ego has been hurt. 

He’s not very competitive unless it's against certain people. But other than that, he could really care less if he loses at something. 

His handwriting is actually pretty nice, regardless of the fact that he’s blind. Sometimes he’ll have someone check his writing to make sure it's correct but his handwriting is gorgeous. 

The simplest of things make him happy honestly. He seems like a hard cookie all the time but he’s really sweet. 

Tiny things especially make him happy. Even though he can’t see them, if he can feel them and imagine them the best he can, it just makes him happy for some reason. 

Speaking of small things that don’t exactly make him happy, he’s not too good with children. I mean he doesn’t think there’s anything necessarily wrong with them, he just doesn’t really like them. They’re loud and chaotic, it reminds him far too much of Sebastian. 

That being said, if he did have kids he’d probably have only three max, no more than that. And if not, it definitely because he wants the bloodline to end with him. 

When it comes to relationships, it’d take him a while to really fall in love with someone. But when he does fall for someone, he falls HARD. 

It's hard for him to even stop thinking about them. The thought of them refuses to leave and after a while he just lets it stay and grow until he finally admits his feelings. 

He’s not too big on PDA. I mean, why would he? He can’t even see when he’s holding his S/O’s hand so why should anybody else get to see it?? 

But in private, he LOVES physical affection. He’s constantly wanting to cuddle, hold hands, etc. It's something he enjoys after not having it for so long. 

His favorite classes are Defense Against the Dark Arts and Charms. 

He hates potions, not because it's boring but because he can’t seem to get anything right. Sadly for him and any other blind student in school, most of the classes aren’t very tailored to those who are visually impaired. 

He does like Care of Magical Creatures though just because every beast has a different texture and it helps him visualize it a lot better. 

And if he could get into muggle studies without his family scolding him, he would. (He did find a way to get into the muggle music classroom and he enjoyed it a lot) 

Maybe a tad bit stereotypical but I think his patronus would probably be a snake. Now I look past what his family is like and I’d say he’d find a lot of friendships with snakes since he can talk to them. 

But if you want to go in a less stereotypical route, it could be a Mongoose, who are famously known for killing snakes. (LOL) 

As for his Boggart, honestly I feel like it would be losing his hearing. Being deaf and blind would make life so much harder for him, not to mention magic probably couldn’t fix it just like his eyes. It would definitely be tragic if it ever became true and not just a fear. 

When he met Sebastian in their first year and Seb introduced himself, Ominis was a bit hesitant. After all, he had no friends up until this time. Ironically the Gaunts decided to live around muggles and of course they would forbid him from ever going out and playing with the muggle children so Ominis was often just locked up inside his room most of his childhood up until school.

But after he and Sebastian hit it off and he got introduced to Anne, his life got a lot better. He actually had some joy in his life. 

He definitely stood up to his family a whole lot more and started to outwardly and vocally defy blood purity now that he had friends who were giving him support. 

And after school he left, taking all his things and leaving. I doubt he would ever come in contact with them again and if he did, he wasn’t gonna let them pull him back into their blood purist cult. 

As for his job life after school, I feel like he could work well in the office side of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, mostly paperwork since he wouldn’t qualify for being out there fighting (as good as he at dueling, I doubt the ministry would allow him) 

And if not that, another subdivision in the Magical Law Enforcement that I feel like would do good in is the Improper Use of Magic office which is kind of ironic when you know who his best friend is. But I think this would stem from his family misusing magic all these years that he would want to help put a stop to it.  Ahhh, I love him so much. Lmk if you want a part two. (and requests are open!)

Samurai AU where Fukuzawa falls in love with one of the daimyo’s children. OR he falls in love with a rival samurai. I think both would be fun :3

When I was writing this I originally wrote about the neighbor AU but I’m actually writing it out rn so ye

B - Best Friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

You’d definitely be the one to approach first, even if you met due to work, so even if you’re already “friends” it will take time and effort to truly be his un/official “best friend”. Intrigue and annoy him enough and he might give in to you. With this man, perseverance is key. Once he tolerates your shenanigans that’s when you know you’re close.

He’ll certainly be the “exhausted because of this idiot but they’re MY idiot” sort of friend. Not quite the parent type of friend, more like the personification of the good side of your consciousness type. You can poke fun at him but fortunately (or unfortunately, if you’re looking for fun) he doesn’t react much at all. What is fun though is that you’re the only one who knows and witnesses the embarrassing stuff he does .

C - Cuddles (Cuddler? Not a cuddler? Maybe a cuddler? How would they cuddle?)

He’s not that big on physical affection, so I wouldn’t say he’s a cuddler. He’ll big spoon for you if you ask him to. BUT when he initiates it and/or doesn’t let you go longer than you’d expect, that’s when you know he’s subtly letting his heart out and saving it from breaking into a million pieces. Big spoon for him during those moments and he can’t thank you enough.

D - Dance (Do they like to dance with you? How good of a dancer are they?)

No. Cannot and will not. Although you might be able to convince him; it just really depends on the reason and the mood. If it’s something romantic then he’ll actually try his best.

E - Excitement (How do they act when they’re excited? What excites them?)

He’s not that excitable even when it comes to things he does like. The most is he’ll be more open and enthusiastic in sharing his thoughts about the subject, but if you’re observant enough you’ll see his eyes light up and there’s a hidden smile throughout your discussion. Point it out and he’ll get quite flustered. Fukuzawa likes talking about books he finds interesting as well as some history, and of course, cats.

F - Films (What kind of movies would they like? Theaters or Netflix?)

He can enjoy most films but he prefers those with some reflective aspect to them. They’re usually better visually and it’s just his nature to “not waste his time on mindless things.” Definitely prefers theaters, but watching it at home with you is alright as well.

Oh, and maybe he avoids action/spy/assassin-themed films. It triggers memories he’d rather forget.

G - Group Mates (how are they as a group mate?)

He’s… perfectly average. Doesn’t complain, doesn’t say much, usually attends meetings. His skill set is pretty general too. Whether it’s researching, writing, or even presenting, he can accomplish all those satisfactorily. He’ll do anything he sees as necessary, even leading the group if it comes to that, except anything that has to do with art or designing stuff. Big no no for him.

H - Hugs (How would they hug you? Is it common for them to hug you?)

He doesn’t hug that often, except for every single night before the two of you go to bed. Most of the time he communicates through his eyes or small touches whenever he wants something, so if he’s in the romantic mood, he’ll first grab one of your hands and lightly squeeze it, gazing at your eyes all the while, before gently pulling you into a tight hug from the front.

I - Injury (How do they react if you get injured?)

Regardless of the reason or situation, he’ll maintain his calm and address your injury as quickly as possible. It’s never a good idea to let your emotions get the better of you – or so he says.

Unfortunately if even the slightest blame can be put on you, he’ll be furious at you. How could you endanger yourself like that?! Thankfully the anger dies out quickly and he apologizes for raising his voice like that at you, before locking you in a tight hug and whispering that he loves you so much and just can’t bear to lose you.

J - Jealous (Would they ever get jealous? How would they act if they were jealous?)

He’s the type to not realize he’s jealous until someone calls him out on it. It starts out so subtle: he’s a little worried about this person around you, which is, he says, totally a normal thing to worry about, and then more intrusive thoughts pop up when this person lingers around you longer than they should.

Yet he wouldn’t do much about it. You can handle it yourself, right? He’ll observe everything about your interactions with that person – only to make sure they don’t harm you, he claims – and will only intervene if he feels it to be necessary.

It’s actually not that difficult to tell – at least to you. He suddenly sulks a little more often and tries to be more affectionate: sure signs that he’s feeling a little insecure about your relationship.

K - Kisses (How would they kiss you? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

Fukuzawa prefers slow and soft kisses on the lips. It’s intimate and encompassing of all that he feels for you and even what you feel for him. Again he’s not that physically affectionate so kisses are rare, which is why when they do happen he’d like them to be a little bit more special.

L - Little Ones (How are they around kids? Do they want a family?)

He’s gentle and more soft-spoken around them, but given how he doesn’t like to socialize much, caring for younger kids drains him quickly.

A younger Fukuzawa would definitely not want to start a family. It’s not that he hates children at all – in fact he can’t help but smile when he hears genuine laughter from them – but given his profession and his doubt in his parenting skills, he would avoid having to take responsibility in caring for a child.

But once Ranpo comes around (or if you convince him enough), he might give in if you try. Soon he’s taking care of many lost children that at this point, what’s another addition?

M - Memory (Favorite memory together?)

It would definitely be one of your vacations alone together at the beach. There’s a unique serenity to it that he finds worth going over and over again.

Maybe it’s in how the air smells fresher – far from the urban musk of Yokohama – or how the sun seems brighter –was it just how much you smiled the entire time? Regardless, being able to actually enjoy himself and be far from the usual worries makes every moment feel new. Earth’s blessings, you included, make themselves bare and welcomed him to appreciate its beauty in its totality. If only that peace could last for the rest of his days…

N – Nicknames (What do they call you, and what are their favorite things to be called?)

He just calls you by your first name, and he expects that from you as well (save for the added honorific like -kun or even -chan). You can get away with calling him something super embarrassing but please do not do so in public.

O - Obvious (How obvious do they make it that they like you?)　

He hides it well. It’s almost scary. One would have to know him extremely well AND be around him very often to notice any change in his demeanor.

But if for any reason he has to be a little bit more obvious without being too obvious, then that’s when he’ll fail miserably. It’s his natural tendency to hide his true feelings so letting them out “naturally” will be a huge challenge for him. Please be patient with this poor guy.

P - Photographs (Are they into documenting your relationship? What kind of pics would they take? candids? posed? funny?)

He’s not much into taking pictures except on very important occasions. But there are moments where the setting and lighting are just perfect – that’s when he’ll tell you he’d like to take a picture of you. I don’t see him taking candid photos because he feels that’s inappropriate, but he doesn’t have a preference for the poses you do. The only sort of picture that he’s still not good at taking is selfies. You’ll have to do it for the two of you.

Q - Quizzes (How much would they remember about you?)

Unfortunately due to how busy he is, he tends to forget some facts and stories about you, including those you’ve told him yourself. It doesn’t mean he doesn’t love you or doesn’t try to show it, it’s just that he worries about a lot of things that other things can get lost somewhere in between. Feel free to tell him again though, he’ll be more than happy to (re)learn anything about you.

R - Romance (How romantic are they? What are their go-to ways of being romantic?)

It’s a little weird with Fukuzawa. Some of his acts are extremely romantic, while others barely hover above platonic. Sometimes it’s intentional, sometimes it’s not. Perhaps it’s because he’s not used to being vocal about his affections that he’s not sure how to gauge himself.

His favorite romantic act is giving you flowers from the largest bouquet to the daintiest single flower. It’s perfect for all occasions, he thinks, and it’s easy to scale the gift based on the mood he’s trying to set. But the most rewarding times are when you expect it least – the smile on your face is unmatchable.

S - Sleep (What are their sleep habits?)

Before he sleeps, he has to read something. It doesn’t matter what it is (fiction or non-fiction books, the newspaper, heck even a frickin magazine) as long as it’s in print. He’ll also drink some sort of tea before bed (how he doesn’t wake up in the middle of the night to pee is a mystery).

He does have pajamas (yukatas) which he uses regularly. Falls asleep on his back but tosses and turns every now and then, but generally speaking he doesn’t move much at all. He prefers sleeping on a futon since that’s what he’s used to, so if his partner is okay with it then he’ll just sleep on an adjacent futon. But if his partner insists on a Western-style bed, then that’s okay too. Just no touching while sleeping – he likes a little personal space.

T - Try (how much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, everyday tasks?)

Here’s the thing: his “best effort” tends to look like the bare minimum if one is used to more “high effort” things. But trust me he’s really trying his best to show you that he loves you.

Fukuzawa shines best with the smaller dates over big ones or even simple everyday tasks. It’s special enough for the effort to bear fruit the most but not large enough to tire him out. The reason why he’s not as good with daily tasks is that he’s not meticulous like Kunikida, so he tends to skip out on things when he feels like he could.

U - Ugly (what would be some ugly habits of theirs?)

One would definitely be that he gets annoyed easily and that he’s not honest about his emotions at times, even to himself. It creates distance between the two of you (or really anyone for that matter). In the former, his outbursts usually come as unintentionally harsh words, and in the latter even if you can tell what he’s thinking, it’s hard to get him to do anything about it. He’s quite stubborn like that.

V - Victorious (Would they play games with you? What kind of games? Would they win?)

It’s canon he plays go, but I think he also plays hanafuda and a handful of other Western card games (not that he’s particularly good at those). Any board game that’s strategy-based and not too difficult to learn is right up his alley as well.

I’d say he’ll do quite well in games he’s already well-versed in (like go), and if he loses more than half the time his pride can’t take it and gets a little sulky.

X - (E)x (How do they handle exes? What do they do if they see them?)

If it’s his exes, he avoids them like the plague. For him if someone is out if his life then they’re out, out for good. Honestly, he’d rather not remember they even existed.

When it comes to yours, his reaction depends on your history with that ex. Did they hurt you in the past? Then he’ll be a bit wary of them (if you’re with him) and make sure you’re okay (both physically and mentally). If it ended amicably and they’re totally out of your mind, then he won’t say anything at all.

It’ll be a little different if he notices that there’s still something there, however. After a long internal debate (please read the jealousy portion) he’ll confront you about it in private.

Y - Yearning (What do they do when they miss you?)

He likes to look at small objects that remind him of you. Whether it’s a gift you bought him, vice versa, or a picture of you he keeps at his desk(s), he’ll stare at it longingly and reminisce internally about moments of your relationship he’s most fond of. Usually a few minutes of that is enough to satisfy him.

But if it’s that bad, he’ll be talking to cats about you. Yes. He talks to them. As he pets them he’ll either complain about how it’s been so long since he’s seen you or he’ll reminisce out loud.  He’d die from embarrassment if someone catches him so he only does it in deserted public spaces (or at home if you two happen to take care of any cats).

Z - Zodiac (What is their zodiac sign? Do they fit it to a T? Speaking of zodiac, how superstitious are they when it comes to love?)

a/n: I’m also a Capricorn but idk any of these HAHA

Some stereotypes of the Capricorn that could also apply to Fukuzawa are: being old-schooled, a workaholic, on the cold side, and highly disciplined. Based on what I’ve seen it looks like he pretty much encapsulates Capricorn energy except that he’s a little more grounded and less ambitious.

He doesn’t believe in this at all, however. Even if he’s head-over-heels in love with someone he wouldn’t check out their zodiac compatibility (unless someone else tells him – but still, he doesn’t really believe in it).

Well, I wasn't quite sure where to put this...

But I do have some OCs that I want to share with the world for a story that is in progress. Without giving too much away, the backstory for all of these characters is that they are otters, arrested by Flower Hill because they were confused as potential weasel spies. Now all of them are currently stuck in a Flower Hill POW facility and no one is happy about it. Here they are in no particular order. (Yes these are piccrew images, I can not draw.)

Name: River

Age: 25 at arrest

Gender: Male

Reason for being in Flower Hill: He's a fish farmer who wanted to establish a trade connection with some hatcheries in Flower Hill that had unique species of fish.

Reason for being arrested: He was in the wrong place at the wrong time...there was a weasel spy in the village he was staying at who had left just a few hours before and when he was spotted, the officers assumed this had to be the spy they were informed of.

Personality: River is a very quiet sort of otter, one who tends to spend a lot of time thinking. He's also very empathetic, to the point that those who don't know him would be forgiven for assuming he could read minds.

Opinion on the war: He doesn't know a whole lot about the war and as such has no feelings towards Flower Hill or Black Rock or Wolves Den.

Name: Inlet

Age: 28 at arrest

Gender: Genderfluid (shifts between male and female)

Reason for being in Flower Hill: Inlet was on his way back from a vacation in Frog Village, and Flower Hill just so happened to be a stop along the way.

Reason for being arrested: Unfortunately for Inlet, her passport photo didn't match her appearance as she was feeling quite feminine that day. It was assumed that his feminine appearance was some sort of disguise and he was consequently arrested.

Personality: Very sarcastic and passive-aggressive towards anyone she doesn't like. Very sweet and charming towards anyone he does. She likes to believe she's very clever but has yet to come up with a plan to get anyone out of the facility.

Opinions about the war: She was sympathetic towards Flower Hill, as they were the ones initially attacked. His views have since shifted quite a bit.

Name: Ocean Breeze

Age: 35 at arrest

Gender: Male

Reason for being in Flower Hill: Ocean was in a fishing boat that capsized and just so happened to wash up on the shores of Flower Hill after being lost at sea for weeks.

Reason for being arrested: Unfortunately, the officers in the town were on high alert due to reports of spy activity, thought that his story was rather suspicious, and ended up arresting him when he came to them for help.

Personality: Ocean is very family-motivated, with a wife and several children waiting for him in Otter Village. This has, consequently, made him fucking pissed. About being capsized, about being arrested, about being trapped in Flower Hill...he has a tendency to be physically violent with the guards and anyone he perceives as a threat, which has not earned him any favors in captivity.

Opinions about the war: He may not be thrilled about being held captive in Flower Hill, but he absolutely places the blame squarely on Black Rock, mostly the weasels, for starting the war to begin with. It's easy for him to understand going too far to protect one's family and community so he can relate to Flower Hill on that level, if nothing else.

Name: Ren Sudal (Ren is a title similar to "rector")

Age: 42 at arrest

Gender: Male

Reason for being in Flower Hill: Sudal is a devout pastor of the otter's faith system and had gone to Flower Hill to assist with reparation efforts for those affected by the war.

Reason for being arrested: A spy for Black Rock had come to Sudal, asking for his assistance in getting away from Flower Hill. The tenets of his faith meant that he felt obligated to provide help to anyone who earnestly asked for it. When his assistance was discovered, he was arrested for aiding and abetting the spy's escape.

Personality: Sudal tends to remain calm and stoic. He's a big believer that one must be patient to resolve an issue, and he's not about to do anything rash that would get him or his fellow otters into deeper trouble. He also firmly believes that karma has a funny way of catching up to just about anyone who's earned it.

Opinions about the war: Sudal is mostly neutral, believing that individuals need to be judged based on the merits of their own actions. Thus he avoids jumping to conclusions about anyone based on which "side" they are affiliated with.

I’ve rewatched the scene with Bobby talking to Eddie so many times because it really reads like Bobby has some idea that what Eddie’s actually unknowingly struggling with is something in regards to his sexuality, and everything he talks about are things I had begun coming to terms with in the last two weeks as I’ve questioned my own sexuality so this conversation was really personal to me because hearing Bobby lay that out for Eddie immediately resolved my own crisis and now I’m certain I’m not bi- I’m gay (and demi). Which is a huge thing for me to realize because I’ve identified as bi ever since I started dating 8 years ago. But Eddie’s struggle and confusion makes all the sense in the world to me because I had/have the same questions as him and struggled to reconcile the clear feelings and care I had for women/femme presenting people I’ve dated, but I always felt like I was playing a part (“performing” as Eddie called it) and while I knew the lines and cues and it was easy to do, something was always missing. I felt like I was doing something ‘right’ and there was a sense of relief in that, something adjacent to happiness, but it always came up short. I would love talking with and hanging out with these partners and had been good friends prior to dating, but driving home I would wonder why I didn’t feel giddy or whole. Why I could never initiate physical contact. Why I could only objectively acknowledge that they looked beautiful, but that never translated to attraction. Why I couldn’t imagine futures together. But I liked these people. I cared about them. It was confusing. And after each inevitable break up I questioned if I just wasn’t meant for relationships.

But when Bobby validated those feelings and pointed out that Eddie doesn’t have commitment issues in general, it only seems to apply to women in his life, I thought about my relationships with men. My two longest relationships lasted 6 months and 3 years respectively, and they were with other men. My last crush was on a man. Flirting with men comes easier, I feel more loose and giddy in a surprisingly enjoyable way, I become more charismatic and at ease, I can show physical affection and compliment, and when I think about the future- road trips and grocery runs, school pick ups and drop offs, falling asleep on the couch or in the passenger seat- I see that with another man.

I think of me, and I think of Eddie. He and Shannon were friends as children and were close for years before they started dating, but only got married because she was pregnant and there was strong religious influence and social factors pressuring them. He cared about her though, he liked her, just as he cared about and liked Ana and Marisol. Those base feelings are valid, but the extent to which they manifest is dissonant for him. The idea of these relationships never matches up to the reality. It’s a performance and it’s a role he’s uncomfortable playing but has gotten used to because he didn’t know how to question it and he’s already learned the lines and blocking. He expresses he prefers being single because he can just hang out with guys because it’s less complicated, but he’s not at the point of questioning the source of that ease. He can’t commit to his girlfriend moving into his house, but he can commit to making Buck the guardian of his son in his will. He forges infinitely stronger bonds with the men in his life and we see a side of him that’s less conflicted, more at ease, more honest and silly, and freer than any time he’s with a woman.

Eddie Diaz made me realize I’m gay, so yeah, I’m pretty certain he is too.

Belos. Im a lover of angst, so I would love to see the entire process of him deciding he needed to kill Caleb.

As I stated in a previous post, Eda is now the spitting image of Evelyn. I wouldn't be surprised is Belos tries to hurt her. I would like to think they would stop him before he is able to but idk...

I also like to think they'll prevent Belos from actually harming Eda, the kids, etc.

They'll be 'unpossessed' with the help of the Collector

However, I think the main people Belos will be aiming to hurt would be Luz, Eda, or Hunter. Yet, he might also hurt King, Willow, Amity, Gus, and/or Camila to hurt them.

I don't think Raine will walk out of this without a few scars. Specifically on their ear and cheek

a spanish anti-muggle group wishes to meet with the dark lord in marbella. so, it makes perfect sense for his favourite lieutenant to go with him. after all, she could do with a holiday.

and it's too hot here to think to much about anything, so this is not a particularly deep story - the inspiration was entirely the fact that the idea of bellamort on holiday in marbella is funny. these are not two people who can be easily imagined lounging by a pool - although it has always tickled me that lord voldemort is ascending to the height of his powers alongside a period of luridly-coloured pop culture. the tiki cocktails of the late 1940s and the disco drinks of the 1970s shouldn’t be something one associates with him. and yet.

but there is something serious underneath all the brits-abroad capering [rip to the german tourist, hated by a nation for hogging the sun loungers]. i’ve always been struck by the fact that - even though jkr considers it to be more egalitarian than the muggle world - the wizarding world is constrained by extremely restrictive gender roles.

and i am convinced [and have explored more seriously elsewhere - especially in my piece nor all that glisters gold and its notes] that one of the reasons why bellatrix is so easily radicalised into being an enthusiastic death eater is because voldemort gives her a chance to transcend the expectations placed upon her by her gender and her social class. in death (eaters) in paradise she finds herself free - for the first time in her life - of pureblood modesty standards [after all, in canon, wizarding clothes seem to cover much more of the body than contemporary muggle fashions], of the need to pretend her marriage is happy, and of the need to pretend that she isn’t a sexual creature.

in death (eaters) in paradise [as, again, i’ve explored more seriously in my piece other women and of purer blood and its notes], there’s the idea that bellatrix’s lack of interest in pregnancy - and her desire to see sex as something with value beyond society’s belief that she should want lots of children, as is her duty as a pureblood - is considered quite scandalous in the circles in which she moves. that voldemort should be the only person she knows who doesn’t think this may not initially seem to be in line with his character - but, actually, the canonical voldemort tolerates a huge amount of casual affection from bellatrix. until the last stages of deathly hallows, he allows her to be physically very close to him, to touch him, to allude to the relationship between them, and so on - and my justification for why they are a sincerely plausible couple is directly connected to this. both bellatrix and voldemort want to be really known and really understood, and they provide a level of recognition and comfort to each other which is there in canon and really fun to draw out in fan-fiction.

plus, him giving her a horcrux is - and i’ll die on this hill - weirdly romantic.

Stolas agere headcanons

Regresses between ages 4-8

During most of his life he pushed his regression down a lot. Especially while around Stella 

Despite this the most he could usually do was delay it for a bit or pretend he was still big when he wasn’t 

Tends to lose track of his limbs a lot while little and end up knocking stuff over or bumping into things frequently 

Little Stolas does not have a poker face at all. He really can’t keep any of his feelings hidden. 

Little Stolas is very talkative although he tends to become insecure about this fact since he is used to people finding his ramblings annoying, boring, or strange. He loves having someone who will listen to him when he’s small 

He’s typically a pretty happy and excitable little. Regressing is something he has done for a long time but now that he’s divorced and has the house to himself sometimes and has people like Blitz, the rest of IMP and occasionally Asmodeus to care for him he is as happy as can be 

His memories get a little fuzzy. He has an easier time remembering what happened while he was little once he’s big again than he does remembering what happened while he was big when he’s little 

When he’s regressed to his youngest age he will nap but it still usually takes some convincing to get him to rest because he gets worried that his caregivers are only putting him down for a nap to get rid of him 

He loves to be carried and will frequently forget his own size and leaps into the arms of whoever is watching him once he feels assured that they won’t reject his attempts at initiating physical affection (Blitz has on several occasions been fully knocked over by an over enthusiastic little Stolas) 

He likes bath time a lot but because of his feathers there are specific procedures that have to be followed. Currently only Asmodeus knows the proper way to give him a bath but Blitz is learning 

He loves to read and will often read aloud to anyone who will listen. He was a very advanced reader growing up so even in his youngest headspace he still has an easy time reading large chapter books

Stolas also loves to watch cartoons, especially ones with songs in them. He does need someone to help him find the kids channel on the TV or pull up some cartoon episodes/childrens movies or he will end up watching whatever channel the TV turns on to regardless of how age appropriate it is 

He isn’t able to go our very much while little since as a Goetia he has a lot of enemies but he would love to be able to go to a park or go see a play 

He’s not picky when it comes to food he just really loves it whenever his caregiver makes his food themselves. Growing up his parents just had servants make it and it feels nice to have a home cooked meal made special for him. Even if it's not very good 

He has a few toys that used to belong to octavia when she was small. She wanted to get rid of them but he stashed them away instead and now when he regresses he likes to play with them 

Blitz got him a stuffed animal shaped like a carnivorous plant that he absolutely clings to as proof that Blitz cares about him. He also is very attached to his baby blanket 

The beak makes it a bit difficult at first to find a paci that works for him but he eventually does. He likes to have it when he sleeps 

Stella didn't know what was happening but knew something was going on with him and often threatened to tell everyone his secret. She didn't follow through since she didn't actually know what said secret was and then got sidetracked with trying to kill him. However Stolas still feels a bit of anxiety that she will one day figure it out and follow through on telling everyone 

Blitz does take care of him fairly regularly but he can be unavailable at odd times so Ozzie has offered to help out with taking care of Stolas when he can’t get ahold of Blitz 

Millie and moxie have on multiple occasions been called upon to be babysitters

He is so scared of doing things wrong. All his life he has felt like he isn’t good enough. He didn’t feel like a good enough father, husband, son, Goetia, or boyfriend and now that he has people taking care of him he’s afraid he won’t be a good little. Of course this is a completely unfounded fear since there is no wrong way to be little and the people watching him care about him a lot. This doesn’t stop him from worrying though

11) Does your OC enjoy a cuddle?

Sterling: Yeah, she likes them well enough. Physical affection, like cuddling, isn't something she's huge on but doesn't turn it down when it's offered/asked for. It's when she's tired that she wants to cuddle with someone the most.

Dawn: She's a take it or leave it kind of person. She doesn't seek out cuddling with others but if someone wants to cuddle with her, she won't turn them away. Especially if it's Caelum! Her boyfriend gets priority when it comes to cuddles.

Dusk: This anxious boy would like to cuddle but he struggles to ask for it. And even when other people initiate, he worries about being too uncomfortable to cuddle with, that he's bony or his skin is too cold (which is ridiculous when Merel is his sister). He prefers holding his cuddling partner rather than being the one that's held.

Sirius: He likes cuddling but kinda loosely. He doesn't really hold his partner or get held. The way Sirius likes to cuddle is to be seated next to each other and leaning on one another. Only with his girlfriend does Sirius get a little more touchy and decides to hold her.

Merel: Yes! Merel is a big cuddler! Unfortunately, because she's so cold to the touch, very few people are inclined to cuddle with her. Sirius, Walgner, and her future partner are some of the few people who cuddle with her most frequently.

Vivian: No. Well, maybe. It really depends who it is. If it's her family, her closest friends, or her romantic partner, she will allow it. But she doesn't cuddle with casual friends. And cuddling with strangers, even if it's the dead of winter and she's desperate for warmth, she wouldn't allow them to touch her.

Sterling: Since she never gets into any kind of relationship, Sterling doesn't really think of giving or receiving a jacket in that way. But when it comes to her siblings, she will always lovingly lend her jacket to them if they're feeling chilly.

Dusk: He's the type to run cold but he'll always offer his jacket to his girlfriend. Dusk is used to being protected and doted upon. So when he's old enough for a relationship, he wants to be the type of partner who provides and dotes upon the woman he likes. He knows it feels good to be cared for and his parents tell him it'll feel good to do the caring, so he is a jacket giver.

Sirius: Oh absolutely the one to give his jacket. He might always have some kind of outer layer of clothing to offer to his girlfriend. And since he becomes a towering figure growing up, his clothes fit very loosely on his girlfriend (despite her not being all that small either).

Merel: Merel is the giving type. She's a nice person and likes looking out for her partner. But as part of being ice cold to the touch, she also doesn't feel the cold so she wouldn't need a jacket most of the time. She only really wears a jacket for aesthetic rather than getting warmth from it.

Vivian: Vivi is a jacket receiver, most definitely. She runs cold and hates feeling cold. Plus, she's on the small side so it'd be difficult for her jacket to work for whoever she gave it to. And though she's a borrower, she doesn't like holding onto a borrowed jacket (or anything else for that matter). She returns the jacket as soon as possible, even if it means tossing the jacket to its rightful owner right before she parts ways to walk home in the rain.

Who’s the cuddler?

I have always had this strong headcanon that Saeran is a little touch-averse at first. He really wants that physical affection, truly he does. But it makes him uncomfortable and a little scared for quite a long time and it needs to be something that he’s eased into and given space and time to become comfortable with. Yoosung would be the more physically affectionate on initially because he just really loves the little acts of holding hands or cuddling with you. They make him genuinely happy. In the long term, though, after he’s become more okay with it, I feel like Saeran is the more physically affectionate one overall, with long, firm hugs being his thing.

Who makes the bed?

It would have to be you because honestly, both of these boys are kind of slobs in that regards. They just don’t think to make the bed unless they’re told to or someone makes a comment about it. That being said though, Yoosung changes his sheets more than Saeran does.

Who wakes up first?

I honestly feel like it would have to be you or Yoosung but only like 90% of the time. The other 10% it’s Saeran, but only because he just plain out hasn’t slept. I’ve always strongly headcanoned that Saeran has issues with sleep and there are times that he’ll go days without sleeping and then just micro-naps until his body just can’t handle it anymore because both his mind and body are just too exhausted, and he crashes. Yoosung, if given the choice, will prefer to sleep in a bit, especially if he’s spent the night up with you and Saeran or up gaming but he can get up early for school or work.

Who has the weird taste in music?

Saeran’s tastes run weird because they’re really split between what Saeran likes from childhood, what he liked in his Unknown persona, and what he liked as Ray. Ray preferred soft music and instrumentals or classical music from the Romantic period, while Unknown was really into trap and rap music. Saeran though…he remembers the songs Saeyoung sang with him as children and lullabies soothe him still.

Who is more protective?

I feel like Yoosung can get more protective, definitely, and especially so after everything that happens in the game. It can come across at times like he doesn’t trust you or Saeran or doesn’t think you guys will make the right decisions because he’s incredibly poor at finding the words to describe why he worries so much about you and usually ends up putting his foot in his mouth a little. It’s actually what causes most of the larger fights with Yoosung.

Who sings in the shower?

Saeran does it. He hates singing in public because it embarrasses him to have people watch him sing. He’s fine with singing to you over the phone or when your eyes are closed and he thinks you’re sleeping…but the shower is his private spot where no one watches him and, because he genuinely enjoys singing, he lets himself do it in there.

Who cries during movies?

Oh my god but is Yoosung ever a sap when it comes to anything even remotely sad during a movie. He just gets really into his media, and he connects deeply with those fictional characters and when bad things happen to or for them, it can upset him deeply. There were definitely cut scenes even in just his video games that made him tear up.

Who spends the most while out shopping?

Yoosung can live on a pretty reasonable budget but has a tendency to throw money away on games when he has a rough day. Saeran…despite growing up with relatively nothing, really, he never quite learned the value of money or how to budget it or manage it and he’s the worst one for spending without thinking, especially so if he’s using card instead of cash.

Who kisses more roughly?

Saeran’s kisses are hesitant, especially at first, but can become very rough when he gets comfortable or stops feeling embarrassed and just surrenders to the moment.

Who is more dominant?

It would have to be a combination of both you and Saeran. Yoosung is definitely quite submissive. He would honestly be just as happy to turn over every big decision to you and Saeran and have you two make all the decisions. Saeran’s streak of dominance is more out of needing to feel like he’s in control of his life and his decisions after so long of not having any control over those things.

My rating of the ship from 1-10?

Honestly, it’s probably about 6 or 7 out of 10. It’s not an absolute favourite, I have to write about it so much kind of love, but I’m definitely a fan because I think these two balance each other out well and would interact with both each other and with the lovely readers (or myself, if I’m having fun with self-ship fantasies) in such interesting ways.

i apologize in responding to this so late, but i HAD to deliver !!!

their love language is OBVIOUSLY physical touch !! they are a bit subtle in public, josana with her arm looped around his or robb placing a hand on the small of her back. in private though,,,, completely different. they're extremely affection, especially with touch. whether it sexual or not, they melt in each other's touch and it makes me absolutely feral !!!

robb is pretty protective over josana, but for good reason. she is not liked by pretty much everyone bc of her house, her close dynamic with tywin, and bc of her previous opposing allegiance. he hardly ever leaves her side bc of past instances where her safety becomes an issue. he only ever leaves her with people he fully trusts to ensure her protection ( which is the main reason why she's present at the red wedding )

josana loves to run her fingers through his dark, auburn curls. she brushes them gently and slowly at any chance, mostly at night or when he's very stressed from the war

back in winterfell during the feast for king robert, when the starks and lannisters children are enter together, josana and robb are paired with each other as they are newly betrothed. the entire night robb is just mesmerized by her beauty and they get to have some bonding time before things get rlly bad after bran's fall

in my own lil au where the red wedding never happened and they lived happily ever after, josana and robb would have so many fucking kids !! this man for sure has a breeding kink like let's be real. they would've been one, big, happy family and it makes me cry that will never happen

speaking of kids, josana is pregnant by the time of the red wedding. she has their son in king's landing. it's a very emotional aspect of the story bc she has a lot of internal conflict. on one hand, she wants this baby so badly bc she would love to be a mother and have one last reminder of her husband. on the other, this baby will be a pawn in one of tywin's schemes. and when she's giving birth, she begs the gods to have her baby look like robb. here's a snippet of that moment: Please look like my darling wolf, she pleaded to the gods. Let my child have his auburn hair and winter pale skin. Give it nothing of me. Not my golden curls, my complexion, or my pride. Don’t let this innocent babe become a lion for my uncle. their son, bennard stark, has robb's complexion, his hair, and is definitely a wolf at heart. the only resemblance he has of his mother are her emerald green eeyes

another fun fact: in the very early plotting stages of this story, josana was originally supposed to die in the red wedding. as you can tell, that changed completely lol

josana will not and refuses to marry after robb. she may have sexual counters with other men ( as she should ), but she cannot love anyone as she did for him. even if it's for political benefit, she cannot fathom the thought of another person as her husband

robb may have been initially taken by her beauty, but what made him really fall for her was the hidden layers of her true self. underneath the prized pupil persona and the prowess of a lion, josana is just a girl. a girl who used to believe merlings would swim in the sunset sea, was very fond of horses and silently mourned for them on the battlefield, and was keen on learning as much as she could about anything whether it's warfare, politics, embroidery, and so on. he fell in love for who she really was

Very, very physically affectionate. Not so much verbally. Likes physical touch but also doing things for others to show his appreciation, even if they're really minor.

He's not so good at things like advice for complicated situations, but he has a strong desire to take care of people he cares about. So if you just need a shoulder to cry on or to get away from everything and be taken care of for a while, he's a good choice!

He likes cuddles! Very used to cuddling large dogs growing up so he tends to like cuddling things he can grasp and curl around with his whole body. High risk of being suffocated by his body.

Yes! Although he's lived a pretty solitary and independent life, he's more than happy to settle down. He's pretty okay at cleaning, living by himself and all, he mostly knows the basics and isn't really particular about keeping things spotless 24/7. Really good cook tho!

He would say so in person, despite obviously hesitating and being sad, he would feel obligated to let his partner know clearly his thought process (especially because he's aware it's hard to tell what he's thinking). Just uh. Make sure you Book It. Because he will start regretting it.

Not very quick to get married but not opposed either. Likes marriage in a more idealistic-romantic-fantasy way than a way that's closer to reality. Would give his partner a silly engagement ring made of twine and flowers.

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

Very, very gentle physically. He's very aware of his strength and size in comparison to others. Tends to treat his s/o as fragile regardless of the circumstance. Emotionally he tries to be, but he tends to be a bit insensitive at times on accident.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

Very big hugger! Doesn't do it for no reason or randomly though. Extremely long, tight bear hugs. If he's particularly excited/happy he'll lift the person in his hug and swing them back and forth a little.

Says it at a normal, level pace. Not embarrassed about saying it, but it doesn't really occur to him to say it so he doesn't say it often.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

A lot of his jealousy manifests as over protectiveness and possessiveness. Most of the time he kinda interprets his jealousy as a "this person is a threat/bad/dangerous" (which, isn't entirely wrong?) so he tries to get his s/o as far away as possible, or at least in a safer area.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

His kisses are very brief and chaste. Mostly because he has No Idea what to do other than that.

He prefers kissing on the lips but he usually kisses the top of people's heads/forehead/eyebrow area because he's tall and that's all he can easily reach. He also likes kissing on the hands/knuckles/wrist. He's just really... innocent about it.

He also likes being kissed on the mouth and hands, but getting kissed on the head makes him a little... really flustered.

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

Kids find him really intimidating because of his resting bitch face but if they ever get over the initial impression he's actually quite good with them! He doesn't really... play? He kinda just carries them around and tosses them (or like. throws something for them) or if it's an imaginary thing he plays along (very confused though).

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

He also is one who gets up early. Not as early as Tama but he does get up pretty early to do household chores n such. If you sleep in, or are slow to wake up, he will absolutely use it as an opportunity to take care of you.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

He's an early riser (although not as early as Tama), so he tends to go to sleep early. Before going to sleep, he likes to read and listen to radio while sitting in bed.

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

Lycoris wouldn't really reveal things about himself but mostly because he doesn't feel like there's anything to share than out of a sense of privacy or wanting to hide things. He genuinely believes that everything about himself is pretty Normal and Common, but if someone asks he will bluntly say his answer without embarrassment.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

Has the patience of the saint. Literally almost never gets angry. That isn't to say he doesn't get frustrated or annoyed, but usually he doesn't like, react poorly to things. Very good at staying calm, mostly because he has no idea what's going on half the time, and passively accepts things as they come.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

Remembers a lot of things but mostly remembers things that alarm him or make him worried. Has things like your schedule or favorite foods memorized, but most of the time he prioritizes other things in the moment, or doesn't really know what to do with the information.

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

The first impression from the player/MC/his s/o when they first start DMing him on FY. He sees them as very nice and helpful as they give him advice on how to take better pictures and how to fill out his profile a bit more.

While most people's passive aggression flies over his head, he's had his fair share of people get upset at him for being a bit dense or not knowing what's expected of him, so he greatly appreciates someone being able to clearly and calmly explain to him what he's doing wrong for once.

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

Extremely. Usually tries to physically remove himself and his s/o from the situation, or at least shield them. He doesn't really feel it's necessary to protect him, if anything trying to protect him would distress him more.

Puts extra effort into dates, anniversaries, and gifts. This mostly because he has no idea what to do for those things, so he puts in research (sourced from romance novels, the internet, and his coworkers) to draw from. Everyday tasks come most naturally to him, and makes him feel useful, so he will whisk away any task possible.

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

Aside from the uncontrollable paranoia he gets sometimes, he's generally pretty unobservant of his surroundings, and doesn't realize how he comes off to others. While he has awareness that

Is well groomed, moreso out of habit than personal preference or wanting to please others. Otherwise, doesn't really pay attention. Sometimes after rolling around in the dirt with his dogs, he'll try to hug his s/o, forgetting he's covered in mud.

Absolutely. He'll be functioning, but he'll definitely be in a near-permanent mourning period. Mostly just very... melancholy, extra clingy to his dogs, and responds very poorly to things that remind him of his missing s/o. (I know it sounds like they died, but this would also be the response if they like, somehow skipped town or otherwise became disincluded in his life.)

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

(again, not a headcanon) Lycoris owns several big dogs! Regularly goes out to play with them (likes to tackle/wrestle them gently) and cooks food/eats meals with them every day. Also hunts with them.

There's not much he really... dislikes? He's generally very neutral about things. Very particular about food, though. Not that he has foods he dislikes, but he doesn't like wasting food (ex. would eat bruised fruit as long as it isn't bad) and gets the closest feeling he gets to annoyed or angry if he sees someone else waste food.

Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habits of theirs?)

Very much keeps shock still while he's asleep. Falls asleep very quickly but needs complete and total darkness and real-life ambient wildness noises. Does not do well with noise makers/artificial ambient noises. Is ok with electric spinning fans but not air conditioner noises.

Entirely too giving. A little underhanded. Meddling. Manipulative. Honest. Fun. He loves to have fun. That’s how it started. You made him laugh. The day he came into your life, he laughed and realized he didn’t want to stop. His job can get depressing, so when he finds release and joy in your presence, he realizes how important you are in his world.

Good luck peeling this man off of you. He’s a cuddler at every opportunity. His favorite way to end an evening is by curling up on his couch with a good movie and you in his arms.

He is, and I mean this in the sweetest way, desperate to settle down. He invites you to move in entirely too quickly. He does so many things responsibly and with a lot of care. This wouldn’t be one of them. He would break your heart, and you would hate him for it; he would hate himself for it worse.

He whips out a ring way before you are ready. He has thought of every possible answer and is still eager to make you his. The ring is probably an heirloom, so you can’t say no. Of course, when you suggest a long engagement because you need more time, he’s thrilled.

Gentle but durable. His softness just absorbs your prickly attitude and leaves you with a cozy place to land. He can take your bad attitude when it arises and is there to bring you back to a more gentle place.

Hugs are their own language with Wilson. You will know exactly what he is thinking by the way he hugs you. “ I’m happy to see you” - “I needed this hug” - “Please don’t go” - and “I bet I can give you a damn good reason to stay” are his most used hugs.

He says it the moment he realizes it, even though the timing is awful. Things got a little heated on the couch, and clothes got tossed aside. He looked at your best lingerie, and his jaw dropped. You responded with It’s a brassiere! You know about those things. You’re a big boy now! - quoting not only your favorite film, but his. The moment the line left your lips, I LOVE YOU left his. It would have looked unhinged to anyone who hadn’t seen the movie.

He would never act jealous. That’s not to say he isn’t. He’s going to worry about it, not act like a jerk about it.

You initiate the first kiss immediately after the first date. He loves getting and giving kisses everywhere - but blushes when you get to his neck. He kisses often, but if you want to turn up the heat, you have to make that move.

He’s so good with children. If he can’t be a dad, he wants to be a stepdad. He would happily settle for being a really cool uncle.

Kind of exhausting. He’s an early riser and takes pride in his looks, and he likes a good breakfast. All of this before leaving at 9:00 am.

That really depends on how his day has gone. Problem at work? He’s going to need your time and care. Good day at work? He will want a listening ear. Problem with Greg? You may not see him. You may not get rid of either of them.

He’s not entirely forthcoming about himself. You have to ask if you really want to know something specific. The first time you met Greg was at a bar. The three of you sipped drinks and played a round of Never Have I Ever. Greg led the conversation to interesting and unbelievable insights into your partner’s past. It caused a pretty serious argument but brought you closer with time. 

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

He’s disturbingly patient most of the time. You keep waiting for him to really lose control, and it never comes. He isn’t patient when it comes to your answer when he first brings up marriage or moving in. He really needs an answer and may even give an ultimatum.

He remembers the small things. It’s the big ones that get him into trouble. 

His refrigerator is stocked with the specific kind of water you drink. He’ll pick out the grape Skittles and eat them before sharing a handful, so you don’t have to.

But after a hard day of work, he went home and settled on the couch. When the sportscaster said the date, he rushed to re-dress and get to you. Every bakery in town was closed. You got no birthday cake, but he made it up to you with an incredible bottle of wine and a not-so-incredible supermarket pizza.

The day you met.

You had planned to sleep on your flight, but when an obnoxious man with a cane bullied you out of the window seat in the emergency exit row, you were stuck in the aisle seat next to his apologetic friend. James offered his shoulder for your in-flight nap. Your declined and spent the flight talking with him about the book he was reading, bonding over hating the film version. After realizing you were headed to different conferences in the same city, you exchanged contact information.  When he invited you to dinner, you learned his travel companion had taken someone to their room for the night, the hotel was full, and he had nowhere to sleep. You offered your shoulder.

He’s too protective, entirely too protective of you. He will meddle you right out of your toxic friendship or job. He’ll go to no ends to do what is ultimately best for you. But it’s not his best quality.

He tries, maybe too hard. He wants things to be perfect. Three divorces before his 40th birthday, he thinks that’s completely his fault. 

He’s a thoughtful gift giver and loves doing chores around your home when he visits. You were a little freaked out when you woke up to him doing your dishes, but with time, you grew to appreciate his occasional overreach. 

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

This one is going to hurt. There will be emotional affairs. Probably a lot of them. You probably won’t even know about them, but he’ll have them. He’s learned and grown, he won’t act on his feelings, but he feels deeply and a little too frequently.

He’s a little bit vain. He is not smug about it, but he wants to make a good impression and knows exactly what that takes.

In the chaos, you spotted a vending machine at the park. You offered to split a bag of trail mix by the playground. He was mortified and apologetic that his attempts to impress you went down like this. 

But then, it happened. 

One of the kids on the swings recognized him. He bolted to your bench and gave James a fist bump. Two years ago, the happy and healthy kid in front of you had been his patient. 

So, yeah, He impresses you.

Few things are a dealbreaker with him. He can overlook a lot of things. He can’t overlook a cigarette habit or a request for an open relationship.

• I've always viewed him as someone who learns best via touch — it's a part of his wiring too, so it's like a natural thing for him to touch something (at the very least with his fingertips) to better understand it. He's got his fingers made out of a softer material for this exact purpose; something like semi-pliable silicone to let him gauge things such as texture and hardness of an object.

• This carries on to whoever catches his eye and becomes the light of his world, his shining star, his everything. He's still working on boundaries, especially with older people since he isn't around them all the time like he is children. So forgive his nervousness when there's a particularly quiet moment between you two; he's more than happy to let you lean or lay against him (oh please, give him as much physical affection as you want. He's such a sucker for it.) But when it's him initiating with you, he's not sure what your stance is on things, and it takes him a bit to ask you outright. At the same time, he tries not to bother you too much at first by just ghosting his hands along your arms and back — he can feel the heat off your skin and finds it so interesting that people aren't so different from robots in that regard.

• Once he's got everything settled with you, and knows what you will and won't tolerate as physical affection, look out because he'll make the absolute best out of all of that. It doesn't matter what it is; if all you take are cheek kisses, he's ecstatic just to give those to you! But if it's anything more, he's so cuddly that it's contagious.
