The long-awaited special edition of COOP: duck, duck, goose! has arrived, and it's chock-a-block full of all kinds of birds!

You can read it for free on the archives page of our new website! As always there's both a printable version you can print and fold at home, and a digital version you can read from the comfort of your device.

Some contributors you may recognize from Tumblr in this edition are @babeaccuda who contributed a really cute piece of art of a duck enjoying a little snack, as well as @todaysbird whose amazing poem about turkeys is sure to make you think!

Thank you to all our contributors for this extra special zine! And extra special thanks to Larz Alexander Hagen (larzstarz_arts on Instagram) for the lovely piece we used on our cover.

We are always taking submissions to our general editions, so if you have chicken-centric poetry or art you want to see in a future edition of COOP, please consider submitting!

I've seemingly run into a thing where Gmail of all things doesn't always actually send me emails (wtf, google). It's rare, at least, but it still seems to happen. Twitter? I can understand with its enshittification and all, but at least I still get DMs even if I'm never actually notified. Tumblr? It's held together with glue and shit, idk, PMs/asks have never quite worked correctly for me since like 2013.

(And I've checked Spam, Trash, all filters, etc. Some emails just don't show up at all. And I'm not sure if people ever receive an error email?)

This doesn't really affect anything artblog-wise, just if you need to get in contact with me, and I don't respond within like 2 days, please try discord or my secondary (non-gmail) email address. [I’m SUPER excited to announce, I’ve created my first ever zine!

It’s called “Sky Rats: the NYC Mascot” and is available in both physical and digital formats! It’s pretty much a love letter to pigeons from a Street Photographer. While wildlife isn’t at a premium in the city, I always make the most of what’s given to me while I’m out there taking photos, and not for nothing, some of my favorite shots are of pigeons.]

If you have any art or poetry about "chicken friends" (turkeys, ducks, geese, swans, peacocks, pheasants, quail, pigeons, etc.), we are still looking for submissions to our "Duck, Duck, Goose!" special edition!

Your poem can be as simple as a little haiku about a duck you saw one day, and your art can be as easy as a picture you took of a goose you saw at the park or a doodle on the back of your homework. But you could also use this as a poetry/art prompt!

Feeling stuck? Draw a duck!

And of course the main zine is always accepting chickens!

Crowley picks up the bratty one first. The little thing tries to fight him as it did earlier that day when Crowley caught it and its siblings, sticking their tiny noses where they didn’t belong. The bratty one fought hardest of all, using every little trick and magic it had up its tiny sleeves. Crowley would have laughed it off, but some of it ended up hitting him hard enough to hurt. He bit back a groan before using some real magic to ensnare them all. It’s easy to spot the one he’s after. The bratty cherub is fat like a pigeon, and it makes the most lovely squeaking sounds when Crowley closes his fingers around its body with enough force to make it breathless, pulling it out of the enchanted basket. Its little siblings stare up in horror, their bodies paralysed, feathers and clothes in complete disarray. Crowley hums, ignoring them, too busy examining the soft thing in his hold, enjoying the way the cherub is squirming, trying to free itself now that it is out of the basket’s field. Crowley doesn’t blame it one bit; he knows his reputation precedes him, and the little thing must know what will happen next. Hell, maybe it is even looking forward to it. Cherubs are a kind of angel, after all, and all angels are a nasty lot. Crowley would know. He used to be one. He pulls the little thing as close as he dares so he can inspect its features more carefully. The cherub’s face is as chubby as the rest of its body, and Crowley feels his mouth water at the feel. He prefers his cock sleeves with a little padding on them.

I wish we had a site for original stuff that wasn’t wattpad because sometimes I just want to write about, like, vampires or something without having to do intense mental gymnastics to make the shoehorned anime boyfriend characterisations work. 😔😔😔 there needs to be an AO3 equivalent for original stuff—a site that’s untouched by outside influences trying to make money off of the content inside it. 😔😔😔 Maybe I’ll just start printing out little handmade zines or something, idk. I like fanfic so much because it’s so wild and free, like, you can do whatever you want, however you want, because everyone’s here for the love of it, because no one’s worried about money. It’s how all creating should be and i just feel like that once you start wanting to write (and share) stories that don’t involve a pre-existing anime boyfriend, your options for sharing it (freely) narrow down to either wattpad or carrier pigeon. and obviously!!!! im not opposed to people making money from their writing!!!!! it’s just i have a hundred and one different things i want to write that sometimes involve anime boyfriends and sometimes don’t, and with roughly 93 of those i just want to throw them out into the universe—without having to pour in the work and consideration that comes with creating something that eventually involves other peoples money!!! like… i just want to tell stories. 🥺 sdjkfhsdlkfhjksdjfhkj. i hate capitalism i hate it here i hate it here so much.
