I named the one I have with a scarf and a little trapper hat after Pigeon Wilson from TAZ Amnesty. I thought it was very clever.

Do you sleep with a stuffed animal? 

Indeed I do! I’ve had her ever since I was five :) She’s pretty worn down now, but still very special. I honestly struggle to fall asleep when I don’t have her in the bed with me!

Fears? 

Two words: automatic toilets. They are DISTURBING. I have been deathly frightened of those things ever since I was six years old, and the fear really hasn’t lessened over time. I cannot explain this fear because it really doesn’t make any sense ajsgajgsjsgsjsg but I Do Not like them and I am Quite afraid of them.

How was your day today? 

Pretty good! I ate so many muffins at church :) And I had chicken nuggets for dinner yay!! I also drove for a bit and that was (surprisingly!) nice :0 Before that, I finished watching a Dream SMP stream that included Ghostbur, and it was so… 😭 Gahhhhhhh ordinarily Ghostbur is so sweet & caring & kind, but in this stream he was honestly pretty selfish :( It was sad to watch!!

But also really interesting! Ghostbur is a very sweet character, but he’s also… human. He still messes up a whole bunch and hurts peoples feelings. It’s super interesting to see all the complexities of his character, even if he isn’t acting in a very honorable way :’0

How are you, really?

Not bad, but… tired. I feel like I’ve been tired for months and I really don’t know why :/ I wish I could feel energized again.

But I have been writing more! Writers block seems to be fading away, and I’m very grateful. I’ve also decided that I want to track down & watch every single Ghostbur stream, which has been quite fun >:D It’s something I look forward to doing!

OH OH episodes of season two of The Wingfeather Saga are releasing every Friday :D That’s fun!

Mentally, I definitely haven’t been in a bad place, but I also haven’t really been in a super good place? Kinda neutral. Not exactly fun, but y’know. Could be worse.

I’m looking forward to seeing all my irl friends soon :) I seriously haven’t seen them in months and I miss them. They’re gonna stop by my house in a few weeks!

What do you need when you’re sad? 

Depends on what I’m sad about!

If I’m sad over a fandom/media thing, then I need to be able to sit with my sadness alone. Being able to work through my thoughts by myself is really helpful, and I honestly enjoy it whenever it happens!

If I’m sad over real life stuff, I need to talk to people. Mostly I need to know that I’m not alone—that other people have experienced what I’ve experienced, that I’m human, etc. I tend to self-isolate whenever I’m depressed/anxious, so hearing someone tell me that they can relate to my struggles is really really important.

Doing something that seems to make no sense is sometimes the best solution. Bravery, humility, and the earnest desire to follow the Will of God are what matter most. Follow His leading. When you are nearly broken, listening to His instructions will produce healing. Following God's Will, even when it contradicts assumptions you've made about life, will ALWAYS provide more blessings than you could have ever imagined. Thank you, my friend.❤️

Shippo’s giggling though, eyes shut and crinkled in his mirth while Inuyasha looks at him. His expression is clearly fond. It’s the softest Inuyasha has ever, ever seen himself.

This is fatherhood, he thinks a little wildly.

He sends the photo to Kagome.

Inuyasha is a single father. Shippo is his adopted son. Kagome isn't supposed to be in the picture, but somehow, she returns anyways. A story about family, love, and all of its obstacles.

Best of Scrap Sketchbook, first week of January 2024

I'm gonna try to loosen some invisible rules I've noticed putting on myself that weren't needed, such as never counting the digital doodles I do sometimes. That's the first page. (Except the two on the bottom left - those are brush pen traditional.)

The second page was playing around with an existing open species (I added the description notes on there.) I don't necessarily want a pinestripe poker to be a possible main 'sona, but I figured it was a good practicing "scaffold" of sorts as I want to actually make a 'sona some day, even if I have to be indecisive and make multiple at first.

disappointed with rootspring’s warrior name, going to make a list of more suitable suffixes and prefixes:

Prefixes:

- Pine, after Pinenose, who nursed Violetshine. I know she wasn’t the best foster mom but Violetshine thought she had done her best.

- Pebble, after Pebbleshine.

- Dusk, after Hawkwing’s brother.

- Leaf, after Leafpool, but mainly after Tree’s brother (who’s name is also after Leafpool)

- Moon, after Moonlight, you know, kinda like a way to reconcile Tree’s troubled past with his future.

- Earth, for the same reasons (becuase Tree’s birth name is Earth).

- Six, because he should, genetically, have inherited his father’s sixth toe but apparently the erins don’t know much about cats polydactylie.

Suffixes:

- Shade (after Shadowsight whom he found and because he sees ghosts)

- Sight (same reasons)

- Dusk (after Duskpaw)

- Wing (after his grandfather)

- Stripe (his tail is striped)

- Foot (because again, six toes)

- Toe (idem)

Which gives us:

Now, some names have already been given (Leafshade and Pebblefoot) so let’s take them out. Also, Duskdusk is a dumb name.

And also, since we’re at it, let’s take out those which don’t sound good. Either because the prefix ends by the same letter the suffx starts, or because,like Moontoe, they sound like badly transcribed corean names in some manga. And those which are just ridiculous like Sixdusk.

then let’s reason differently. As much as I love Moonstripe, Rootpaw is golden. And the moon is... not golden. So let’s take out the Moon line entirely. And Shade isn’t a suffix I’d give to a guy whose pelt is bright yellow.

we’re starting to get way less names! that’s a good thing!

(I’d like to precise that I’m stripping things out as I go and have absolutely no idea what the last name is going to be before I’m getting there).

Alas Sight is a great suffix but the four prefixes which are still matched with it are too down-to-earth. Moonsight would have worked,but again Moon is no longer there.

Dusk doesn’t really match with the three, down-to-earth prefixes left to it either. And wing doesn’t match with three of the five it still has, because wing means ya know flying and all, and Earthwing sounds weird.

The only suffix matched with Earth is foot, and quite frankly Earthfoot just sounds weird too.

Now, we’ve noticed a change in the naming fashions. While in the old forest and until like halfway through Power of the Three, names such as heart, feather, tail, cloud, pelt, were the most popular, recently we’ve seen a rise of -frost, -sight, -blaze, etc. As much as I like Pinefoot and the rest, it might be best to strip it out, for fashion accurracy.

we’re left with this and things are starting to get serious.

Honestly, I know it’s cheating. But why would Tree name his son after his brother when his brother was born after his son? So let’s strip Leaf too. As for Dusk, Blossomheart will, according to the wiki, give the name to one of her own kits. Let’s leave it to her.

That’s all that’s left.

Pine and Pebble are both names from Violetshine’s side, and she already named Needleclaw. I love Pinestripe, but it might be more fair to Tree to give his son a name he inherited from his father.

That’s it, we’ve got a winner.
