Hi everyone!! I've been very busy.

Me and a couple of friends have been working on a Discord server for not just artists, but art enjoyers. Hopefully it can become a place where artists and their audiences can hang out together and discuss hobbies, maybe even find work together. It's still in its early stages, but if this interests you I'd love if you would join. It's a bit of a weird concept right now, but we are working hard to make it better every day!

I got Aseprite for Christmas, so I have been practicing! Here is my first finished peace and I'm really happy with it. It is tiny. I probably should have known this, since it's not like I don't know what a pixel is. It is my first ever piece, however, so it's part of the learning curve. Oh well.

I'm doing a lot of learning, having come from a light background of traditional media. Digital art doesn't feel as intuitive to me as pencils and charcoal, but I'm having fun all the same. I've been watching videos and following along with some tutorials, another reason this piece is so tiny.

For this I followed along with PixelRocket's, "Beginner Friendly Space Scene" found on youtube which I've included as the source link for anyone who may be interested.

don't have much reach on here, but figured i'd post this anyways on the off chance the algorithm decides to be in my favor today. there's this game i've been playing since 2014 called Manyland. it's a pixel art sandbox mmo game where everything is created and collaborated on by a dedicated community of amazingly talented artists from all different walks of life. i'm making a post about this because as of 2023 the userbase is dwindling. it has been for a few years, but it is now more than ever. it breaks my heart to see a game i have loved and cherished so much over the years become obsolete. Manyland's developer is struggling to maintain the site since the cost of keeping it running outweighs the money he's making off of it. if you're at all interested, please check out the game and share it with your friends. i'll do whatever i can to bring some traction back to the community, they are a bunch of lovely people who i have made memories with that i'm positive i will never forget and i'm sure if you pay us a visit you'll find something to love, too. it's available via the website, as well as Steam.

I'm doing research, my Punch-Out fam! I must emphasize, this will not be immediate, if at all. I'm just researching right now. Does anyone out there do commission pixel art in the style of the SNES Super Punch-Out!! game? No background necessary, just the characters themselves.
