Here’s my take on the whole audio books vs. reading:

Oral tradition of storytelling predates written ones by millennias, and honestly, which one you like is just a personal preference.

The actual difference is

when listening, you have no idea how to write characters’ names

when reading, you have no idea how to pronounce characters’ names

i saw this tweet and found it interesting for two reasons. one is that some people base how good cartoon network would be to toh by how it treated su, and despite the fact that su’s treatment by the network was considered poor at the time, now its thought to be exceptionally good in comparison to modern shows.

two is how exactly su got impacted by a limited budget. a common criticism is how characters like connie, peridot, and lapis are left out of missions. but balancing a lot of characters is not only hard but also costly (extra animation, extra voices—it’s been revealed that the show is limited to a set number of characters per episode otherwise they’re over budget). animation mistakes are not uncommon since retakes cost extra. the entire reason the original show got cut short was due to loss of funding!

Hm... Topolino has their own demons, I think. It's sad to see, but I'm not exactly a stranger to it, either. If they don't want to talk about it, that's fine by me.

so for my whole life my grandma has never put hot or warm food in the fridge, she always sets it out to cool first, she is so beholden to this rule that she will under no circumstances ever break it, to the point she gets irate if any of us break it

I never understood this, because I have always put food in the fridge whenever I was done with it, and it never gave me any problems

I thought it might have been some theory about it affecting bacteria growth in the food, like she thought it would go bad quicker, or maybe she thought it would mess with the taste or the texture or something, if I asked her about it she'd say something like 'it's just not how it's done'

so I thought it was just an old people thing

but tonight I found out my friend does it too, (this actually directly caused both of our pizza leftovers to become cockroach ridden because they were left on the counter to cool), I asked why they didn't put the pizza straight into the fridge and they told me they had it drilled into their head from childhood to never put hot food in the fridge

I go home and I talk to my mum about it, she says at some point she got curious about why my grandma was so adamant about it and looked up if there was any merit to it

y'all it's not about bacteria, it's not about food quality at all

it's about the fridge

back in the ice box days, hot food in a fridge caused condensation, which caused ice build up on the walls/roof of the ice box, which would then have to be chipped away, they didn't put hot food in the fridge because they wanted to reduce the amount of ice build up, which would reduce how often they had to chip it away

so if you were brought up to never put hot food in the fridge, now you know the truth, and you can put your dang food in the fridge instead of giving the cockroaches the feast of a lifetime

I was having a blast seeing all the Goodwood content, when I had to see that dammed interview with that stupid Checo-hater reporter, asking Max about being teammate with Daniel RIGHT IN FRONT OF CHECO!! If you have seen the video (I have it, but I don't want to post it because it pisses me off, but maybe I'll upload it later when I calm down and can laugh at their stupid antics) you can notice how uncomfortable Max looked.

I mean, look at his face, he's like 'what the hell dude!'... and this is beyond Chestappen, Max is always respectful, he probably was so pissed about this guy being an asshole.

I wonder if I should start bashing the reporter's social networks just to see if he likes being harassed... what's worse, when he asked the question, the camera was only focused on Max and Daniel... but then the cameraman actually ZOOMS OUT to film Checo's reaction. UGHHHH!!!! PISSES ME OFF IMMENSELY!!!!

Hello good old people of the old tumble Would you like hear my Burger King dream? No?? tough luck. So my mother gave me £17 in like a short pocket that was on the front and not the side so I made my way over the Burger King to order my “plain big Mac with large fries and a large drink” (in real life my order will change ever so slightly to be a plain whopper with cheese and a large fries and drink) but I couldn’t get anything because like evil Super Mario world was to the left just straight up an evil version of Super Mario world like that was Mario and she was standing in a flashy room that was completely black except the floors that were a dark flashy red colour and the cashier was like” no no big Mac for you” so I had to go to another Burger King but guess who decided to wake up that right this and I ended up waking up at 5 o’clock in the morning which is extremely late for me for I normally wake up at two o’clock in the morning
