Yesterday something good happened here. I picked up my guitar and found my beginner's book in classical guitar and started playing. The music just poured out of the guitar and even if I am rusty it was fun. :-) Maybe with this a new chapter has begun? Being creative in music. I would like that. Nashville next, haha.
i miss when i used to write like mad and read poetry and try painting and singing and explore the random things of the world and then i remember i still can ! attention span and doomscrolling is not the forever, u can regain that time for your brain, you can learn to do it all again, all it takes is trying bit by bit
generally i don't think you should have to suffer for your art but i have to admit that guitar players shredding so hard that their instrument ends up splattered with blood is kind of hot
I love you music that's amateur and broken and vaguely shitty. I love you singers who are off-key and I love you voice cracks. I love you missed chords and guitar string squeaks and the background sounds of wherever you recorded. I love you emotions that had to be expressed, even though they're bigger than the limits of the medium. I love you musicians who had to create even before they learned everything to make something good, musicians who release demos and first-ever songs and record on bad equipment because there is something they have to say to the world, even if no one ever listens. I love you punk rock and garage bands and DIY movements and cheap second hand guitars and recording on someone's laptop because you already had it. I love you sound cloud and band camp and 10 listeners on Spotify. I love you music.
